Spoilers for DR3

Personal opinion here- I feel like Ryotas “snapped” arc should’ve lasted longer

It lasted a total of TWO EPISODES. The dude who went through so much at the hands of Junko Enoshima, one of the most traumatised and emotionally unstable characters in the future foundation, had a TWO EPISODE “villian” arc (if you could even call it that. Also, technically one and a half episodes, since he got the idea half way through episode 11).

Ryota would’ve genuinely made such a good full series antagonist or at least he could’ve done something more “sinister” earlier. While I do like the premise of him being super strong (mentally wise), to the point where he only snapped at the end while others (Kysouke..) did not, I feel like he DESERVED a more bigger Villian arc in a way. He deserved to snap, to be a bad guy, to have his own arc for once.

Like I’m gonna be so real here, I was rooting for him a little. I knew of course that he wouldn’t end up winning in the end and that he’d see reason both because hope always wins and that’s the point of the anime and I’ve been spoiled before. But it would’ve been nice to have his “Villain” arc drag out a little longer, that twink deserves it.

Still, I really did like the ending. Him going off to Jabberwock with his friends and leaving what he done in the past and starting a journey of recovery and moving forward was a nice thing to see.

I love my evil ryota hc tho, I have so many ideas on how him being a proper antagonist could play out. Hell, I even have a few ideas for main antag Seiko, that girl deserved better too.

Anyways live laugh love Ryota, he was genuinely so fine in the last two episodes I can’t explain it🙏

On an unrelated note, I kept laughing whenever Ryota and Makoto were talking to each other since all I could think about was Izuku Midoriya and Adrien Agreste having a conversation

I have a really strong dislike to anybody who ships Mitamiki (Ryota/Mikan).

(Danganronpa spoilers, Tw for SA)

“It’s just a ship, DJ!” Mikan sexually assaults Ryota in the anime. On SCREEN. It’s not even implied or said, we SEE it happen. Usually there are some ships that I don’t like but I’m like “yk what, it’s not that bad, a little weird but it’s fine”. But when it comes to Mitamiki, you’re shipping the assaulted x the assaulter. Ryota was trying to kick her off, he even results to kicking her in the face when she tries to do it AGAIN. Ryota would never hit a woman, we can see it’s against his morals to even speak to a woman with as much disrespect as Sakakura was giving Asahina in the 3rd anime. But he was so scared, because he knew that if he didn’t stop her, something terrible would happen to him. Something he didn’t want or consent to.

It also annoys me when people DEFEND Mikan. Yes, she was brainwashed. But that does NOT excuse the fact that she tried to r&pe ryota. The only reason why she didn’t was because Enoshima intervened. Her being brainwashed doesn’t excuse anything, the despair video doesn’t change who they were as people, it just mad them.. more evil. Despairing. It just made them desire despair, it didn’t change who they were as people. Mikan was going to do that to Ryota to bring despair to him, it WAS Mikan. Not a different person. The remnants of despair are responsible for what they’ve done, not for being brainwashed, but what they still did. So why should Mikan be any different?

And it’s not like Ryota DOESN’T have any sort of trauma from what happened, in the 3rd anime/manga, whenever he sees something such as a simple touch on the hand without consent, his mind immediately jumps to the conclusion that it’s SA since that’s what he went through. He doesn’t wish for anyone else to go through what he went through so at any moment he jumps the gun and calls someone out on it.

“I ship them in the non-despair au” The non despair au isn’t canon. It’s unimportant, that argument is invalid.

I understand that they’re able to relate to each other with their terrible anxiety, being bullied, and relatively shy personalities, but after the SA scene in that episode it’s just gross to ship them.

I’m adding how they die too cuz.. they actually die sadly

His death- Head was slammed against the floor repeatedly until it was nothing but brains and blood. To top it all off, his back was cut open and his ribs was spread out of his back almost to represent butterfly wings. (Thanks to my buddy father pal whom corrected me, I thought it was spine. Not ribs. It’s also something called the “Blood Eagle”. It’s a real thing search it up !!! Sorry back to the councillors)

Tani was once apart of the 69th class at Hopes Peak Academy.

Her death- Had gasoline poured on her, handcuffed to a wooden pole, the wooden pole was then set on fire, then the fire spread. The moment it hit her skin she practically burst into flames, she was conscious the entire time.

Domen was once apart of the 67th class at Hopes Peak Academy.

His death- He was drugged, left unconscious for a while, then woke up in a cold room. He was still extremely dizzy and weak (an after effect from the drug) until someone (Tokunaga) came into the room and started cutting at his skin, deep cuts. Alfie was too weak to do anything apart from scream and beg for it to stop. After a while, being covered in deep cuts, salt was poured onto the wounds, causing even more pain. He was left alone to die after that, bleeding out. (Inspired off of that one terrifier movie)

Alfie was once apart of the 63rd class at Hopes Peak Academy.

Jōchirō is the camp leader.

His death- Full Tokunaga style. Got knocked out, woke up on a cold table, bound by chains on his wrists and ankles. Some skin was torn off, for other parts fabric was sewn INTO his skin, the parts without skin then being covered by fabric; covering him, in slow, torturous manner. He died by the time Tokunaga reached his neck.

Jōchirō was once apart of the 58th class at Hopes Peak Academy.

Tokunaga really doesn’t play.. he needed to get those guys outta the way but he wanted to do it in style.. and style it was

The uniform ..

Notes-

• The tie/scarf is optional. You can also wear your own tie/scarf if you want.

• You at LEAST have to have one top part on and one bottom part on (that’s what the councillors say anyways). So you can wear the jacket and the shorts for an example and just tweak the uniform to your own desires with that.

• There’s also a swim costume that goes with it, male and female of course, because there’s a lake there and stuff. For swimming lessons they have to wear it, but if they’re just going to the lake to hang out outside of learning hours, you can wear your own swimsuit.

• Any shoes you want, really.

• The uniform policy isn’t really that strict. Keiko doesn’t follow the policy well and he never gets told off.

• The logo is in fact an inverted version of the original hopes peak logo. They’re different places, after all.

More extra information/clarifications-

- All of his riots/debates are his attempts to stop racism, homophobia, sexism, etc

- He has a fear of being left alone, fountains, and alpha males podcasts (despite being in some).

- He got bullied for having two mothers and for being different’ than everyone else.

- He smokes a cigarette at least once every two months as a stress relief.
