Headcanon that Kon finally works up the nerve to confess his love to Tim- except he messes up and confesses on April Fools day, so after a long pause where Tim’s heart nearly leaves his chest, he just laughs and says “good one”

And while Kon is momentarily confused (and a little crushed), he quickly is reminded of the date by a less than favorable prank pulled by Bart- and instead of explaining things to Tim, he decides to roll with it

It becomes an inside joke between them both. Kon starts saying “love ya” before every mission- and he means it. But Tim just takes it as a joke, and he pretends it doesn’t make his cheeks flush, pretends it doesn’t make his heart race.

The longer it goes on without Tim confessing back, the bolder Kon grows. He is pretty sure Tim likes him back, given he can hear how Tim’s heart races each time he flirts- but he’s still waiting for the proper confession. And what better way to draw it out than by getting flirtier and flirtier?

“Have a good meeting, baby, I hope they don’t keep you from me for too long”

“Hey there hot stuff, is that a batarang in your pocket or are you just happy to see me?”

“Have I ever told you how beautiful your eyes look Tim? Because they really are. Brighter than the whole night sky alight with stars.”

Tim goes insane. He can’t show how much the phrases are affecting him, can’t let Kon know it isn’t a joke to him- so he flirts back. Because why on earth would he be normal and just talk about it?

He starts small, and works his way up to bolder statements. Speaking his heart, veiling the words as bits of their joke.

“Hey pretty boy, you gonna join us on this mission or is your head still in the clouds?”

“Calm down Kon, this is a sparring ring, not our bedroom”

“Can I get a kiss for luck babe? You know I always perform better when I’m around you.”

It’s like a game. Of wits, of wills. Everyone watches from a far with their eyebrows raised, watching the gayest friendship they’ve ever seen as the boys both flirt and flirt, a sort of game of chicken that neither seems to know the rules to.

It takes months for things to escalate so much till they’re essentially just dating. Tim doesn’t realize it until they’re sitting curled up on the couch together after a mission, his head on Kon’s shoulder, their legs intertwined under the blanket.

“We’re dating… aren’t we?”

Kon kisses the top of his head. “Took you a while, Mr detective.”

Tim’s face flushes as he rethinks every phrase Kon ever said to him, before winding back to that first fateful confession.

His heart skips a beat as the meaning dawns on him.

“You love me,” he says, less a question more a statement.

“I do,” Kon replies, fighting off a smile.

Tim’s heart races a mile a minute. He pushes away from Kon to look him in his eyes, his ribs feeling too small to contain his growing heart.

“I love you too,” he says, breathless with the confession.

“I know,” Kon answers, his eyes twinkling. Tim wants to punch him- but then Kon is kissing him, and Tim forgets every hostile feeling.

He pushes their combined idiocracy aside and grabs Kon by his shirt, and pulls the super into him.

when robin sees that superboy is alive he not only throws himself into kon's arms but also kisses him. in hindsight, it's not something that did either of them good because tim was at that point in time half convinced kon was his imagination and kon had some of his own issues to deal with. still, it happened and in the end they decide to see where this thing between them takes them and start dating. at first kon thinks they'll just be superboy and robin, tim not being able to reveal his identity without outing everyone else and unable to do so without their acceptance, but sometimes tim takes a plane to metropolis and someone makes their way to the kent farm, the library conner works at, some publicity stunt superboy was doing, or just wandering the streets until superboy noticed robin's heartbeat and came. it's always someone different that greets him. sometimes there's a hot blonde guy going by peter with green eyes, othertimes a gorgeous brunette with brown eyes going by jeanette. it's never the same name twice and hair and eye colors have an established roster that kon has yet to figure out but the heartbeat and the voice always stay the same. there's tina with highheels, blue eyes and shoulder lenght black hair. julian with basketball shorts, a brown stubble and piercing green eyes. tim with a loose hoodie and tiered blue eyes covered by a blonde frindge. lena with her coffe and a buzzcut. as far as kon understands is that robin chooses the gender of his disguises randomly each time he makes the trip, depending on the mood is is in that day but it's more guys than girls that he shows up as. for now he'll wait for robin to come to him if he wants to talk about it. it's not like kon never wears skirts. so robin exists to kon with a thousand different names but his heartbeat always stays the same and for now kon can live with it. it is less than he wants out of his relationship with robin but it's more than he expected so for now he can deal.

Kon: So he has about 70% of your respect now considering the last time you docked respect points.

Thad: it's more than others but it's about to go down again if he doesn't start taking serious care of his hair.

Kon: Why do I have to talk to him about his hair? It's fine!

Thad: our hair is curly, conner. curly! you know how much work curly hair needs!

Kon: Well, yeah I do. But I also sort of like the floof Bart rocks.

Thad: ... your tastes are barbaric.

Kon: Oh yeah? Says the dude who uses a steaming flatiron to burn their curls straight every day!

Thad: i have a hair routine which is methodical and carefully executed with hair health in mind despite my harsher methods. bart just strives for whatever method is the quickest without considering the long-term damage where sometimes 'falling in a sink' is his only routine. seriously. help him.

Kon: It really killed you when you were pretending to be Bart and you had to adopt his hair routine, didn't it?

Thad: it took my hair 8 months to recover...

Kid Brother

“He’s my kid brother.”

It’s what they’ve been telling people. It sounded better than calling him Clark’s child out of wedlock, which is what the rumor is. It definitely sounded better than calling him Clark’s clone with Lex Luthor’s DNA.

If someone looked too closely, the similarities were obvious. Their eyes were that crisp shade of blue that was almost inhuman. Their smile was the same crooked smile that gets an extra slice of apple pie.

The Kents were beloved in the community, so no one would say these things out loud. He was the Kents’ youngest child after all.

A/N: I’ve known families who did this, usually if their teenage daughter got pregnant, they’d raise the kid up as a younger sibling especially if she was younger. People knew and talked, but not outright.

And I guestimate Clark to be in his mid to late 20s when Kon comes along, so he really could pass as a younger sibling…. Or a kid Clark had really young.

Project 13 is faulty in than it’s created with a dead Soulmark. An impossibility. A dead person’s soul can't form a connection so a mark wouldn't appear in the first place and Project 13 hadn't had a Mark belonging to someone that then died. No, the second it was entered the infant form capable of having a mark it was a dead, ashen gray.

Some of the scientists theorized that the mark belonged to a person that died in the days Project 13 was nothing more than some concoction in a petri-dish or the time it spent as an embryo.

Some others believed it to be a faulty mark with no connection. Project 13 was the first of their clones to have a mark so it could simply be a faulty, not yet perfected body reaching out into nothingness.

Still, Project 13 was the largest success they had up until then, so they didn't scrap it but let it grow for further study until Lex Luther deemed the specimen as good enough and they were put to task with different Products. Project 13 now becoming Superman to the public.

Jason grew up without a Soulmark. It wasn’t rare on the streets for people to be markless or to have gray dotting their skin. Only the lucky few had marks but even then they didn’t have soulmates. Soulmates were for the rich and privileged not street trash.

Then he tried to steal from batman and suddenly was one of those rich and privileged himself but still markless.

It still didn’t matter to him. What mattered was that he could now help his people and be Robin. Being Robin was so much better that having a Soulmate, he knew. Being Robin was being magic.

Until it wasn’t. Until the world crashed around him and reminded him with vengance and a crowbar in a hysterical laughter that he was still human.

The Jokers greatest joke that day, was the moment Jason’s soulmark manifested where he had been beating his ribs with a crowbar.

Personally, Jason had only seen his soulmark once – hidden under blood and bruises, stretched awkwardly because of broken bones but glowing such a pretty red and blue, fiting so well on his broken form.

Thalia explained to him – after he had begged for weeks and finally proven useful that just as the pit washes injury and death away, so it washes soulmarks away.

Jason was glad for it.

It doesn’t even register in his mind as he opens the door and steps into his own safe haven. The only thing on his mind is his bed, blankets and sleep. He’s exhausted and wants nothing more than his bed and get at least six hours of undisturbed rest. A hopeful wish but one could dream.

Closing the door behind him Tim trudges into his room and beelines for the bathroom, stripping away his suit as he does. He couldn’t help but sigh in relief when his body is freed from the confines of the skin-tight fabric and armour, for the first time all day it feels like he could finally breathe.

When he enters the bathroom he’s only left in his boxers. He does his business which includes brushing his teeth, a strip wash because he can’t be bothered to shower and going to the toilet. By the time he’s finished Tim could barely keep his eyes open. Walking back into his bedroom Tim immediately heads for his bed and not even caring he promptly faceplants onto the mattress with a groan.

What he hadn’t been prepared for is for something to spring up from underneath him and trap him with his blankets. What feels like arms wrap around him encasing him tightly in a fabric prison. Tim yelps at the unexpected attack and any tiredness he had is immediately gone and is replaced with panic and adrenaline.

Tim squirms in the hold trying and failing to get himself free. His vision is obscured and his arms are pinned by his sides with the way the blanket is wrapped around him. He can only imagine he looks like a blanket burrito. Only his legs are free but even as he kicks out he gets no leverage, his feet slide uselessly along the bed sheets.

“Tim, it’s me! Chill dude, it’s only me!”

At the sound of the familiar voice Tim ceases his struggling and frowns. “Kon?” An answering chuckle reaches his ears and Tim squirms again. “You asshole! What the hell?”

While Tim couldn’t see it he could feel Kon shifting on the mattress, and then the fabric covering his face is moved away and he’s finally able to see the person who decided to attack him in his bed. Kon’s wearing an unbashful grin that makes Tim suddenly forget why he’s annoyed, warmth and fondness spreads through him as it always does when he sees his boyfriend smile.

It’s when Tim goes to reach up and cup Kon’s face and finds his arms unable to move that he remembers why he’s annoyed at Kon. All feelings of warmth melt away and Tim scowls at Kon. “Why attack me in my bed?”

Kon’s arms circle Tim’s blanket encased body and he hugs him tightly, Kon’s head then rests on top of Tim’s. “I haven’t seen you all day. I figured this would be a good time to see you.”

“You could’ve used the door like a normal person instead of ambushing me. How long have you been waiting here?”

“Normal is overrated, this is more fun. I’m surprised you didn’t notice me,” Kon lifts his head up and examines him closely, “you’re not injured are you?”

His comment reminds Tim of how tired he is. Now he knows he’s not under attack the adrenaline leaves his body leaving exhaustion in its wake. Tim shakes his head. “No I’m fine, just tired. It’s been a long day.” He shifts uncomfortably, still trapped in the blanket. “Let me go.”

Kon finally frees him of his blanket prison and together they settle down on the mattress underneath the blanket on their sides facing one another. Even though Tim hadn’t been expecting Kon - he really needs to work on his awareness when tired apparently - his boyfriend’s presence certainly wasn't unwelcome.

Kon sends him a soft smile as he strokes Tim’s cheek with his thumb, Tim hums, closing his eyes, and relaxes into the touch and further into the mattress and pillow under him.

“I came here the moment you entered the Tower. I was already hiding by the time you entered the room.”

Not opening his eyes Tim huffs, he’s halfway to falling asleep. Grabbing Kon’s wrist to stop his movements Tim presses a kiss to his palm before linking their fingers together and brings their joined hands down to his chest holding them close. Kon laughs and lets Tim do as he pleases. They lie in comfortable silence for a while and Tim finds himself drifting off to sleep feeling safe and contented.

Sometime later he jerks awake when Kon suddenly shifts beside him. His boyfriend frees his hand from his grasp and turns onto his back and before Tim could voice his protest Kon’s arms grab him and pull him across the bed until he's pressed up against Kon’s side. When Kon guides Tim's head to rest on his shoulder Tim finally gets on board with the new arrangement.

Easily settling against him Tim relaxes once more and lets himself slowly drift back into unconsciousness. The last thing he remembers before finally falling asleep is Kon pressing a kiss to the top of his head.

The DCC-3908 has three other Kryptonians on rotation when Kon gets his assignment. By the time he gets through atmo and onto the dispatch station, it has one.

Pretty stupid to have four of them on one ship, even if they’re only useful under a yellow sun, but he still hadn’t braced himself properly. Starfleet was meant to be different - was meant to be better. 

But then again, it was probably stupid of him to think that. He’s also expecting the last Kryptonian to be in the Security bunk when he gets there, waiting. Checking to see how the human-made duplicate measures up. Instead, it takes four rotations - and, honestly, thinking that his info had been wrong and all three Kryptonians had jumped ship at the last port - to find out Kal-el works on the bridge as Navigation. Like. What. He’s not even head of a department!
