During Komui's lounge
Johnny : Someone asked to Lavi since when he started to feel something about Lenalee ?
Lavi : Well, that happened when she fought the level 3. I was worried like hell, and when she came back, everyone was so surprised she had lost almost all her hair, so was I. Then she lifted her eyes in tears towards me, and suddenly I saw all her face, and...I don't know, I just found her beautiful like this.

cross is a talented magic user in canon, like undeniably. komui's lounge interviews have had noah and order members alike commenting on how he's so fucking weird for what he does. so what does it mean that cross doesn't even consider that red could be the original host, whether that's through de-aging or something else??
#dgm#d gray man#d.gray-man#cross marian#nea d campbell#allen walker#chapter 246#ch246#the new chapter's got me posting like crazy#possibilities:#1) no deaging. something else equally fucked up#which i believe is unlikely#2) yes deaging. and cross doesn't know all the magic in the world#or 3) yes deaging. but so many things have to go fuck up for that to happen which is why cross doesn't consider it#in which case#what fucked up!!!!!!!#btw like wo deaging how do you explain nea recognizing allen#my post

SPOILERS Chapters 251 onwards
Bookman Junior, past!Allen, Bookman and ... debunked theories, also theories that somewhat were reanimated?
So here it is my new theory post regarding the newer chapters it took me a while but my mind has been working. I did several in the past, here we have them:
Bookman's Flashback & Bookman Jr = Lavi but different?
Lucia & the Bookman at the Campbell's
The weirdness of Allen's Age
Allen & Junior being one person at some point
So hey listen I did come up with a lot of things over the past 6 months and I will refer to a few that were confirmed (and also debunked) and go to a few things we learned from the recent chapter (253). And my two cents to that.
The Bookman from the Ark Flashback is indeed our Bookman.
I had the discussion earlier this year that it was implied that this person is a Bookman but it's not clear what Bookman. My first thought was our current Bookman. Then I had the idea it could be Cross as I stated in the post above but ... no. I came back to it being our Bookman as the ears and the earrings match. So we kinda got that confirmed here.
2. Bookman Jr = Lavi, but no & Allen's bond with Junior in the Flashback during the Circus ark
My idea was if Allen got regressed Apocryphos might have been messing with more people. But that theory was wrong. We do have a second Lavi though.
Also I was right about the one single memory of Red before the circus of feeling someone cared for him was him and Lavi, their bond survived the whole ordeal with Apocryphos (also I suspected Junior protected Allen from Apocryphos that was confirmed too).
I was wrong about the idea that Allen was a child when he met Nea as we learned Allen was dying as Nea approached him and that was the reason why Nea bowed down. I was right about Allen being regressed according to that flashback though.
3. Blood relation between Bookman & Junior, the Clan and their Blood + the black Sheep and the Mark
This is a kinda confirmed thing? At least Allen refers to Bookman as Lavi's "Dad".
Also current Allen indeed looks like a mash up between pastAllen and Lavi. At this point I suspect that a lot of Lavi's personality and functionality took over Allen as he was merely a head and the Innocence arm, everything else was basically Lavi's Helix filling up his.
The question is still are the Bookman otherwise related in any way? How did the elder from the village immediately knew that the Baby was related to the Bookman Clan? A Clan that is not known by many as they operate in the shadows of history.
We know that Bookman are allowed to have children (it was confirmed somewhere in Komui's Lounge I don't know which Volume it was but it was the same confirming that they don't drink Alcohol iirc). It could be that the whole Clan is indeed Blood related BUT maybe just a few people might have the abilities to become a Bookman and maybe even among those only a certain percentage are allowed to work in their profession (heck I still think Lucia looks like Lavi but with a haircut).
This would explain why the Bookman share their recordings by "blood" while they still do recordings on paper (looking at Lucia writing down the stories of that old man). Maybe Bookman, Lavi and current!Lavi are the blessed ones with the Blood connection while Lucia, Joe and the Zeugle guy (does he has a name even?) without socks are helping to a certain degree.
What brings me to ... the mark.
That one thing marking the Bookman as head of the Clan and the Junior as the future Bookman.
It is certainly not the scar that Junior has. At this point I do suspect something else but let me finish my first thought.
Bookman sr. hides his mark under Make up, we all know how he looks like right now. The current Junior wears an eyepatch. We don't see their right eyes uncovered/without make up. Not even with baby!Lavi. Hoshino even hid Bookman's right eye behind the wall to not give away any clues in earlier chapters.
We do not see Lavi's eye uncovered in any flashbacks, the glasses hide his eyes every time.
But we do see in Chapter 253 that Bookman Sr only covers the area above his right eye with make up and we all can agree that both his eyes are fine to use he doesn't need glasses, there aren't any hints that his right eye is defect in any way. Also current!Lavi has only his eye covered there is no mark on his forehead or anything.
So there is a mark somewhere around the right eye the key person of the Clan have by birth.
I do suspect that Lavi, who was conflicted all the time, from young years on, that this profession is what he should follow, reminded by Bookman who supressed his feelings all his live long, to stay true to his profession either forcefully lost his mark by someone else.
Or he decided to blind himself to erase his connection to the Clan. As he sees himself as the Black Sheep, the one who brought shame upon the Clan. They still do see him as 'beloved' member, and the reminder that he lost his former Junior pains Bookman to a certain degree.
I think the latter is the case, I do think Lavi injured himself to erase his connection to the Clan. But he still was a member and he was not completely disconnected from the Clan either.
One point is that current!Lavi was born after Lavi merged with Allen, that means he might gave up his 'Job' but he was still their heir. AND his hairstyle is the same as Bookman's it's a Bookman hairstyle. Also the jacket he wears is hinted to be worn under the cape in the teen flashback, the collar decoration (feathers) still hints to the Bookman Clan and so does the clasp which shows a bird. He is still attached to the Clan even with the fact he denies it.
Why would you continue to wear the cloth of a Clan if you didn't want to be associated with it anymore? Also why does he stick to the rule of not having a name? Like, he left the Clan and still is "I was formerly the one who was supposed to be the next Bookman I have no name but Lavi is the name of the Record so that's not a name either"... Lavi you literally could have named yourself Bob and that would have been your name?! (But yeah I think Allen told him his 'name' is Lavi now just to make things easier)
Also Bookman does his best to not let his current apprentice take after his former Junior (eyepatch, not the same hairstyle, more distance between them, constant reminder not to get attached).
BUT there is something we can't grasp yet...
their weapon. We first see Lavi's staff in Chapter 252. And current Lavi has a similar weapon with his Hammer, he uses a staff during the attack on the Headquarter as his Hammer broke during the fight with Tyki.
Why do the both Junior have the same weapon? Does Bookman teach them the same fighting style? Is there any reason behind this?
And ...
4. Bookman, Lucia, the Helix and Innocence
What is the deal with Bookman and the Helix of Life? Can they just manipulate it like that?
We do know the Lucia in the current chapters is the same as the one in Chapter 222, the chapters take place about 3 months apart, not more, it is not a Flashback. Lucia 'aged' somehow.
An idea I have is that maybe Bookman can indeed control their Helix to a certain degree. Maybe Lucia gifted a part of hers to 'the injured Bookman in the Campbell Residence' to help him heal, she lost years of her life and aged accordingly (wild theory but hey we got wilder things within the series, also Bookman is important to their Clan keeping him alive is their higest priority).
They must be able to manipulate it at some point. This would explain why Bookman and current!Lavi were able to become accomodator of Innocence 'just like that', this is not a coincidence. Especially considering Bookman warns Lavi about becoming a crystal type.
Innocence feeds off the Helix and only chooses people who are resilient enough to endure it, people who aren't giving up after their personal traumas and keep on fighting (which is a horrible thought, they are basically punished for surviving and then their live source is sacrificed for the Heart...).
5. Allen and Lavi are the same, aka we know nothing about Allen
Hands down we learned a lot about the former Bookman Junior and he gave up his own life for Allen, to fill his helix. The former Allen, the soldier, who made a deal with Nea, doesn't exist anymore. And the Allen he was before Apocryphos got him was basically someone else as he was before the deal, he was a teen raised by someone who was a Bookman.
The Allen we have is the result of two people being fused (something I had suspected earlier). Though we have zero idea who past!Allen was aside... being a soldier. We don't know why he agreed to Nea's deal nor what he got for it. We don't know who the opponent was that wiped his whole unit.
6. Cross is not Bookman Junior
I think we can finally get rid of that theory, thank you.
Though I hope we learn what relationship Cross has with them all, he is a big mystery still.
7. The Future of Allen
So yes this ... is bugging me. There is surely more like ... what will happen to Allen when the Clan learns he is basically the lost Junior? Will they claim him? Will they treat him more gently? Will anything happen at all?
Will they help him to regain the lifetime he lost due taking the poison? (Or will that be Link's part?)
Also I tried to keep Hoshino's wish in mind not to share caps from the recent chapter therefore I inserted older caps and own drawings, just in case you wondered why.

Komui's Discussion Room content (DGM 27)
Volume 27 has been released recently here in Brazil and I realized the remaining of Komui’s Discussion Room were nowhere to be found in English, but after reading all of it, I thought there are very interesting things hence why I wanted to share!
Please bear in mind this is not a direct translation, but a summary.
I have a lot of criticism when it comes to Viz Media’s release (official English), but I’m quite content with the work Panini, the distributor of D.Gray-Man in Brazil, has done so far with the official Portuguese release. If there are any mistakes, please bear in mind I translated the information directly from their version.
There are 11 questions covered in this summary. For the others, please check Jeidafei’s translations on them (totally recommend it!): Part 1 | Part 2 | Author's note & Thanks Corner | Extra
Without further ado, let’s get into it! This got very long.
≫ Kanda hasn’t reached the “critical point” in synchronization yet (+ why Allen isn’t a General)
In the question “How did Kanda hide having gone past the critical point”, Tiedoll answers that he actually has the potential it takes to do it but hasn’t done it yet. Still on the same question, they answer a related question about Allen’s critical point: “If Allen has reached the critical point, why wasn’t he appointed to become a general during the Order’s reconstruction?”
Allen replies that it was impossible at that time since Central was keeping watch over him. Tiedoll adds that he’s also too young and the only one able to operate the Ark, the latter making Central even more suspicious of him. General Cross’s reputation also seems to have played a part in this, having the higher-ups deem Allen as someone they couldn’t trust enough.
Ryo’s note: Allen thanks Tiedoll for putting his thoughts about Cross into words and Cross simply laughs it off. XD
≫ Sleeping positions
They get asked about their sleeping positions. Tiedoll describes how Kanda sleeps with detail (when younger, in fetal position; nowadays, he sleeps lying on his side, preferentially the right side).
Allen comments that Johnny sleeps sprawled on the floor or the desk and that everyone in the Science Division sleeps like this; when he first saw it, he got concerned thinking something tragic had happened. Johnny says it’s comfortable to sleep like this, but Allen isn’t so sure.
Cross comments on how Allen sleeps; he mentions he likes to sleep hugging something and when he can’t do it, he complains until falling asleep. Allen gets flustered and claims that he got used to sleeping with Tim because he used to be big, but is over it nowadays. Johnny remembers Link used to tell him not to sleep with the piggy-bank, to which Allen replies that it was “not a sleeping position, but survival instincts”.
Kanda comments on how he brought a ton of food to the infirmary one time and says it was annoying to listen to him eating nonstop. Allen replies with sarcasm (“sorry for needing to eat to recover my energies”).
Cross sleeps naked, with his arms open (according to Allen).
Tiedoll sleeps on his stomach, blanket over his face.
Ryo’s note: The time Kanda is referring to is in Chapter 135 (135th Night: Repose, Partly Cloudly).
≫ The symbol on the CROWs' foreheads
Cross replies that it’s probably the compulsory mark of the procedure that transforms regular people in CROWs. Tiedoll says that Cross knows a lot, as expected of someone who’s able to use magic –he shrugs off the compliment – and Kanda asks when and how exactly someone like him learned it. He angrily says he didn’t learn it anywhere and ends the question at Allen’s remark that he always gets angry when people ask.
Ryo’s note: This is interesting. Could imply he was the one to teach magic to Nea (and the Earl himself?), and not the other way around. But, it’s also possible he just didn’t want to answer.
≫ “What is something you find impressive on the other, but have never admitted?”
Johnny decides to start with Kanda and Allen, and the two exchange insults for several lines.
Johnny then passes the baton to the Generals, who do the exact same as their apprentices.
Johnny ends the question with a thank you and sweating nervously.
Ryo’s note: By “insults”, I mean things like Kanda calling Allen a crybaby, and Allen saying Kanda’s dumb. Tiedoll calls Cross a delinquent; Cross calls him “doting dad”. The list goes on…
≫ The time Kanda spent with General Tiedoll right after becoming his apprentice (+ Allen’s time with Cross)
They are asked what was the most outstanding episode from such a time, and Kanda absentmindedly says he forgot. Tiedoll seems disappointed, stating they had made so many marvelous memories together, to which Kanda replies “please stop talking in this weird way”.
Allen asks how the travels were, and Tiedoll says the most important at that time was to take care of mending Kanda’s heart. They spent much time talking about amenities, having contact with plants and animals and admiring beautiful landscapes. Tiedoll believes that getting in touch with beautiful things can help to connect with the world, despite carrying the burden of being a Second; he wanted Kanda to feel like regular people feel about the world.
Johnny and Allen are touched, and the latter comments how jealous he is. Cross then reminds Allen of how many bedsheets he had to wash because of him, making him flustered. He then goes on to remind how not only he did that but also had to feed him – Tiedoll comments on how it seems impossible to imagine Cross doing all that – and even help him change many times.
Allen’s embarrassment reaches the maximum and he threatens to beat Cross if he keeps talking about that.
≫ Stories of when Kanda and Lenalee were little
Kanda tries to shrug the question off, but Johnny insists they answer. Tiedoll says that the two of them were really cute, just like two lilies that bloomed inside the gray scenery of the Order; Kanda tells him to stop.
Allen is uninterested in Kanda, but wants to hear about Lenalee. Cross asks him if he likes her, and says he thought he had a girlfriend in the Asian Branch already. Allen denies it and says both LouFa and Lenalee are his friends; Cross laughs, saying he doesn’t judge, and Allen nearly snaps in irritation (again).
Johnny moves on to answer the question; Kanda is against it, but Tiedoll holds him in place. Johnny tells that Jiji told him that at first, Kanda would be asked if Lenalee could train with him, but he would shrug her off saying he didn’t want to train with a girl, which would make her cry.
Every time Kanda made Lenalee cry, she would run off to Reever. In reality, Johnny thinks she wanted to talk to Komui instead, but she thought he was busy and didn’t want to bother him, resulting in her crying at Reever’s desk. Tiedoll and Allen are weeping at it (they thought it’s cute).
While Reever comforted Lenalee, Marie would appear bringing Kanda along, who had no idea how to apologize, while Lenalee would bashfully hide inside Reever’s lab coat. This kept happening until he eventually accepted to train with her.
Johnny starts telling another story involving Kanda’s meditation and Lenalee coming back tired from a mission, but Kanda interrupts him. Allen says it’s being fun and tells him not to bother.
Kanda tells him to shut up, calling him a bedwetter. Allen snaps (again).
Ryo’s note: ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
≫ “Who amongst the Noah would Allen best go along with? Hypothetically speaking.”
Allen and Kanda are worn out from fighting (see the previous question); Johnny is giving them calming tea. Tiedoll says that it seems Allen and Tyki Mikk looked friendly when talking to each other, and Allen interjects saying they’re not friends and that Tyki doesn’t respect the notion of personal space.
He then goes on to say he doesn’t imagine himself being friends with any Noah because they lack common sense. Cross mentions Road and how she’s always being flirty with him, which makes Allen tell him to stop implying things, while sounding unsure about being friends with her or not.
Johnny asks if Allen is embarrassed and reminds Road kissed him. He denies being embarrassed and says that kissing is just a form of greeting for her (he’s sweating nervously while saying so). He adds that, on top of that, he feels like Road sees someone else when she looks at him.
Cross seems amused.
Ryo’s note: This answer is very interesting. It seems to confirm the theory that Road had some kind of connection with past!Allen. We won’t know for sure until it’s revealed, but it does seem to imply such a thing.
≫ The taste of Innocence + the Crystal Type Innocence + Exorcist supplies + Cross suspiciously knowing about the Bookman clan
A reader asks how did Innocence taste like when liquefied; Kanda says it tastes like nothing, similar to water.
Johnny points out the wounds that formed after their Innocence became Crystal types and if they don’t hurt. Kanda says that at the time they don’t, but such wounds won’t heal even with his healing ability – which he concludes makes sense since it’s from where the blood comes out to form the weapons.
Johnny mentions that the Science Division (Komui, more specifically) made Lenalee pills that will prevent anemia. Still on that subject, Allen remembers people had asked what goes inside the bags the Exorcists carry on their uniforms. Johnny says they carry first-aid kits, disinfectants, anti-hemorrhagic meds, and things of the sort. Miranda and Timothy carry sweets with a high intake of calories, Krory carries Akuma blood sweets and Lavi and Bookman asked for migraine meds.
Tiedoll says they are nothing without the support of the Science Division and thanks them. Allen asks about Lavi and Bookman getting migraines. Cross mentions it’s probably from an occupational disease because storing that much information and memories can wreck your head over time.
Allen comments again that he seems to know a lot about the Bookman Clan, and that it’s very suspicious. Cross magnificently shrugs off the question.
≫ Allen’s cheating
Allen gets asked if he becomes bad at luck games (i.e gambling) in case he doesn’t cheat. He says that a bet on luck always rewards something even if gains are small, but Johnny says he’s really bad at things like rock-paper-scissors. Kanda thinks he was just in denial about admitting he’s unlucky.
When scolded by Kanda, Allen says it was a matter of survival and that he never cheated good people on; just bad people.
Johnny says living like this is dangerous and that he should stop; Allen apologizes and says he needs money, and if anything, he can use his Innocence.
Cross is amused and sounds proud. Tiedoll regrets Cross’s influence on Allen.
≫ About Link
Allen gets asked if he has ever seen Link smile, to which he responds he has tried making him laugh/smile, but never could do it. Johnny says that everyone from Central is very serious, especially Link. Tiedoll thinks that it might be forbidden to smile when their superior is Director Lvellie.
Allen goes on to ramble about how Link complained about everything: when he had food on his face after or during eating, asking him to redo reports because they were illegible despite Reever being able to read, scolding him for not drying his hair after going out of the bath because he could get a cold, and how he was a shame for not folding his uniform properly before putting it away.
Cross asks him, “what was he? Your mother?” and Allen says he didn’t get annoyed at him. He wonders if all moms are like this.
Johnny says people were worried when he was assigned to watch Allen, but in the end, Link went along well with everyone and confirms that Allen liked him as well. He also states that Allen’s reports became a lot easier to read thanks to him.
Ryo’s note: Ladies, gentlemen, and non-binary folks: it’s Link appreciation time! *tips hat* Also Allen wondering about how mothers treat their children was just precious, even if it’s a throwaway comment.
≫ The vibe at the Black Order
In the question “Who runs faster, Komui or Reever?”, Johnny says that he thinks Reever is faster; Allen adds that Komui cheats by using Komurin, though. Kanda gets annoyed and tells them they (at the Science Division) should make Komui behave accordingly to his role. Johnny sniffs and says that they try.
Tiedoll says that it’s actually good that Komui is cheerful because the Order used to be a very different place until he took over the post, and that he (Tiedoll) disliked the gloomy aura it used to have. Allen remembers Lenalee commented about it once and asks if the Order was really this different back then. Tiedoll says that even if it’s been built with a noble purpose, human beings aren’t perfect and a lot of things get distorted over a hundred years. He recommends Allen to ask For about it, as she has existed ever since the Order was founded and protects it to this day.
Allen is sad and comments he wants to visit the Asian Branch again someday. Johnny says he’ll go with Allen, but the latter says he would want to eat Jeryy’s food again before that. Cross sneers and wishes good luck.
They wrap it up at this, and both Kanda and Allen look very happy about being done with the Discussion Corner (as noted by Johnny). Tiedoll bids Cross adieu, and says “rest in peace, Marian” – to which he replies “don’t treat me like a ghost”.
Allen says he knows Cross is an illusion created by his weakness, but that he was happy to see him (in reference to the 222nd Night: Searching for A.W - Hypokrisis). Cross tells him not to exaggerate.
Johnny is content that they could finally keep it to the ideal number of pages – something the Discussion Corner is known to usually have trouble with. Tiedoll says that if they had gone overboard, the next issue’s Discussion Corner would be canceled, and wraps up thanking everyone who has cared about Yu so far and asks that people keep cheering for him.
Johnny thanks the readers for sending their questions. Allen and Kanda are relieved it’s over.
Ryo’s note: And that’s it! Man, this got LONG. Thank you very much for reading until the end. Can’t wait for the next Discussion Room, the way Tiedoll worded it makes it seem like it’ll be on the next volume, 28. I’m excited!

Do you think tyki and Allen also have a blood connection? This speculation of mine comes from some parts of Sweetcreams theory that he did years ago, pretty much theorizing that past Allen and road are the parents of Tyki and Sheril. Some parts made a lot of sense to me because there was DEFINITELY something romantically going on between past Allen and road Komui's lounge; confirmed it on the down low. "Allen" didn't die right away when he took on Nea's memories.
Hmm it's hard to say. Wisely has memories of all his past lives and did ask Road "so you've looked like that for the past 35 years?" which can leave room for the possibility that she took on that form when she was the only one to escape being killed by Nea, making her appear older once. Cross even recognized her form immediately, and we're pretty much certain Maria is Katerina so he would have probably known and been familiar with Road a lot in that case. It wouldn't surprise me then if she had known Past Allen for several reasons; we've theorized before that Road could have approached Mana and Nea when they were kids and kind of grew up with them, so it wouldn't be weird if she knew Past Allen a little bit or observed him after he took on Nea's memories.
Her protectiveness over Tykki could be explained a bit with that theory, and there is quite a bit to support it (if you know where to find the theory if it's still available or if you remember details, I'd love to read it for myself!). I don't know if I'd go out to say she's their mother, though, (partly because I'm not certain Sheril and Tykki are fully related and because I can't figure out how Road’s inability to age works) but I would say that Road may know more about how Allen (Red) came to possess Nea’s memories than she lets on. It could be why she was attached to him even when they hadn't met and the Earl was just talking about him. I think the Komui Lounge you mean is when Allen says "Besides [Road] has her eye on someone else" (official translation, alternate reading being "she sees someone else in me"). I personally thought this was about Nea, but I'm definitely open to hearing more about and exploring this theory though! It'd be interesting if she wasn't so much a human mother to them, but more like someone who helped them come to be, if we’re going with the notion that Tykki might not be a regular human.

Random thought but Pasta (or if he and “Allen” aren’t actually the same person, then the child “Allen” was before he got his innocence arm) was most likely left-handed.
"Allen” is canonically ambidextrous, but it is also constantly commented on that despite how much he practiced and Krory (Lenalee and Lavi before that) helped him, his handwriting is pratically illegible and that only Reever can decifer it.
It is constantly commented on ALFOS that “Allen” could barely move his left arm, and it took him a lot of time and practice to even do basic dexterity stuff with it until he could get it to be somewhat dexterous enough to perform the tasks he do well enough. his new innocence form make it look like it’d be even harder to do precise tasks with it
yet according to canon (I don’t remember if it was Komui’s lounge or another extra material) both hands are currently about equal in dexterity
It’d make sense that his left hand was his original dominant hand, just that the shape/weight of it makes it impratical to move it as well as it should have been able to.

Can I request headcanons when KANDA, link and lavi swap bodies with their S/O for a day ??? Love you
I love you too!
Kanda
You’re very surprised when you wake up. Your hair is so soft and so much longer than you remember. Come to think of it you’re way taller too.
Kanda is awake before you, trying to explain what happened but neither of you are quite sure. Was it one of Komui’s experiments or something with your innocence?
Makes you both go to the medical wing. The head nurse doesn’t know what happened either or how to fix it. You’ll just have to wait it out.
Mostly spends the the day lounging about the Order. He doesn’t really know what to do in your body. It’s so different from his and thus experiences things differently.
Lavi
Excitedly wakes you up. It’s quite a shock seeing your own face like this. Is that really what everyone else sees?
Instantly try’s to take your clothes off. You’ll have to wrestle him to stop. It’s nice to have the advantage for once. On the same side of the coin, you’ll try to remove his eyepatch. You’ll have to make a deal.
100% suspects this is Komui’s doing.
He’ll spend the whole day playing tricks on people and making them think it’s you. You just follow behind trying to lessen the damage.
Link
He’s trying to reverse whatever’s happened. Is in research mood as soon as he realized things weren’t right. There’s papers everywhere.
You try to test things with him. Maybe he doesn’t have nerves of steel in your body. It’s no use. He’s too engulfed in what he’s doing.
After awhile he’ll take a break to spend some time with you, ask how you’re feeling.

Shattered in Time
Chapter 1
Allen's story
Allen ran down the corridor as his footsteps echoed in the surprisingly empty hall, the sound of rain hitting the window and the occasional boom of thunder being slightly drowned out by him. Timcanpy flew next to him, trying to keep up with the fast moving teen. They didn't have the fear of bumping into people, which kinda confused him, but then again, it was lunch time. Most people would be in the cafeteria by now. Which is where he should've been in if it weren't for Komui calling him in for a mission briefing all of a sudden. Allen sighed longingly at the image of his precious Mitarashi Dango, his mouth drooling slightly as his stomach growled loudly. The sound echoed through the hall. Allen shuddered as it started to sound eerily like the roars of beasts in a cave. Lord knows how many times he's been chased by some kind of big cat predator through Lord knows how many different settings in so many countries thanks to Cross. He still couldn't believe how he got away from some of them.
'Allen!' Neah's voice echoed through his head. 'Watch out for that-'
Thunk!
'-Door...You ok?'
'Owwww...' Allen replied to the Noah as he rubbed his forehead. He glared at the offending door that opened right in front of him as Timcanpy slammed into a halt beside him. The golem growled as he peeled his face from the door and shook his body.
"Oh, sorry Allen! Didn't know you were out here!" Allen perked up, his lips moving into a smile as he spotted a head poking around the door. The light shined on his poofy, curly hair and hit the lenses of his glasses, reflecting off of it and blocking his eyes. "It's alright, Johnny. I'll be fine." Smiling, Johnny hobbled forward and closed the door. As Allen caught sight of his legs, a stab of guilt hit him in full force, and his smile faded away. "How's your leg?"
"Still in pain, but healing, slowly."
The albino teen flinched and lowered his gaze. "Hey, Allen, don't worry," Johnny's hand landed on his right shoulder, his other gripping the crutch in a death grip. "It wasn't your fault that this happened to me and Choaji. Neither of us blame you. Neah was the one who lost control, not you, Allen." Patting his hand and sighing, Allen smiled down at him. "Thanks."
"Any time."
"Hey uh, Johnny? Do you think I could get around you? I have to go to Komui's office, and I'm kinda late." The scientist limped out of the way and Allen took off, shouting his farewells to him. Finally, after turning the corner, Allen reached the office. He opened the door and stepped in, rubbing his head as the injury disappeared. Kanda leaned against a wall, away from the group, and Lenalee was currently serving her brother his daily cup of what the Science Division called the "Elixer of Life". It was actually coffee, but with the way the Science Division's sleep schedule was, it was no brain teaser as to why they jokingly called it that. Both Lavi and Choaji were lounging in the chairs, chatting softly as Choaji flexed his hands over and over. Allen felt bad for him; he was the one who made him come back with broken hands after their last mission together. Even if it wasn't exactly him. Walking towards the couch, Allen sighed as he rubbed his eyes.
"Hey, Allen! Where's your stalker?" Lavi said as Allen reached him. "He was gone when I woke up." The albino Exorcist replied and plopped down. "Oh, Link's at Central right now." Komui interjected as he calmly sipped form his mug. "He'll be back before you leave. Now," His smile turned into a grin. "Lets get to the briefing, shall we?" Lightning flashed outside, highlighting the edges of Komui's body and painting the Exorcists white. He stood up and headed over to a map of London, U. K. "This is sort of an easy mission. Our Finders found evidence of a large Akuma nest just outside of this city. We believe it's because of a possible Innocence or Dark Matter influence. So, I am sending you all to take care of the Akuma and look for the Innocence -if there's a shard there- and if it's a Noah on the Earl's side, you know what to do." Allen eye's widened slightly in recognition as Komui pointed at a rather large building northwest of the city. Allen froze. That was- Why would an Akuma nest be there?!
He couldn't wrap his head around the thought. It felt...wrong. But then again, it would be hard for someone to realize their families may or may not be involved negatively in a crime. It was a rather tough pill to swallow. Maybe, there's a chance, a very small chance, though, that they didn't know anything. But who was he kidding? With his luck, they would be loyal to the Earl. But, in Allen's eyes, that was highly unlucky."
"Allen," Lenalee's voice cut through his thoughts and he turned to her. She had migrated next to him. Her violet eyes shone with concern. "You blanked out. Neah?"
Allen shook his head. "Thinking." Lavi poked him. "About?" He smiled at the redhead.
"I'm fine Lavi. Thank you for the concern."
'You know, for someone who's not supposed to get attached, he's showing a lot of concern over you.'
Lavi shrugged and pouted. "If you say so."
"Wait, Komui," Choaji spoke up, and Komui's attention turned to him. "Why would we care if the Noahs aren't on the Earl's side or not? They're all evil!"
"Allen isn't evil." He heard Neah giggle in the back of his mind. "Now, as I was saying, you'll leave after Link returns, so I'd suggest packing. Right now." Komui waved his hand with a smile on his face. "Dismissed."
The Exorcists quickly left the room, going their separate ways. Allen, with Timcanpy and Lenalee behind him, headed over to the cafeteria, his stomach emitting loud, snarling sounds akin to a herd of lions. He hasn't eaten anything, and he really needed his Dango.
-
Boom!
Red eyes flew open, quickly shifting over to the window. A girl with thick white hair sat up from the couch, a book falling from her chest and onto her lap as the patter of rain increased. She blinked as lightning flashed, lighting up the room. A boy quickly stepped away from the cracked open door, the wooden slab creaking slightly as he closed the door. Sighing, he started walking away with his hands in his pockets. He reached a painting, pausing, and glanced up at it. An albino woman peered down at him with a warm smile, looking like an angel from the Bible.
Pain hit his chest and he pushed an invisible button at the bottom of the frame. A loud rumbling sound echoed in the halls, thunder barely covering it as the wall next to the painting slowly moved to reveal a doorway.
The boy glanced around before slipping through the slim doorway, gold dripping into his silver eyes and his pale skin darkening into an ashy gray.

Bookman Allen: Totally agree about most of the Noah not remembering past Allen. Just thought I'd throw it out there. Speaking of Wisely, it's a bit strange how fast he came to like Allen. It makes me wonder if he knew past Allen and recognized him. In the Komui Lounge from the manga this took place: 'Link: Exactly when did he implant them within you? Do you really have no idea, Walker?Allen: Told you; I really don’t know! It’s said to be around 35 years ago! I’m sixteen, remember? -
2 I didn’t even exist then! Wisely: ………….." Yeah, I think Wisely (and Road) was definitely aware of past Allen too. The above pretty much confirms it. I also get the impression past Allen was a positive figure. Wisely doesn't hide his disdain for Neah. Yet he doesn't mind and even encourages Allen to join them fully. But that's another thought. I feel like the reason Lavi would never have heard of Bookman having a apprentice before him was because the past was erased. In the KL Lavi answered-
3 he doesn't remember his true name as all Bookman get that knowledge erased. Bookman is also the one who names every log (Wisely notes something strange about the name Lavi before clamming up. Ironic if Lavi had been the previous BJr's name). The bookman clan can erase minds. 0_0 Maybe Allen was erased from all bookman members except Bookman and that's why Lavi woukd never have found a record of another protege? If there's anything DGM teaches it's that every organization has corruption/-4 flaws in it. How would Lavi feel if he found out the Clan that preaches perfect recording of the hidden erases history when it suits them? Where is the line drawn?
But yeah, another theory I have is that Allen is a survivor of the pre flood world. He carries the knowledge that was lost and constantly rewinds his age. The Bookmen didn't know this when they recruited him as a 'child'. Allen has his own agenda and at the time felt abandoning the clan for Neah was for the best for the world.
yEEES EXACTLY EXACTLY.
I think Wisely knows far more than he let on and he already let on a LOT. the Komui’s Longue was a GEM about all of that. And you have a very good point I do think it means he knows more about Past!Allen whereabout.
And ye that’s true for Wisely still encouraging Allen, I wonder how much of it is just his affection toward the Earl putting his needs before everyone else, or whatever things he may know from the massacre years ago. But ye he does seem like liking Allen more than Nea (which is something that cracks me up about everyone in the manga tbh)
AND THIS IS SUCH A GOOD POINT ABOUT THE BOOKMEN THOUGH. the Bookmen being able to erase mind while they’re all about memories is SKETCHY. I think now is as good a time as any to explore Bookman’s corruption, esp now that they’re linked to the Campbell and seems to be the next arc.
One last thing tho there had been multiple theories about Lavi’s name because I think? In hebrew it has some meaning, I’ve seen “Lion” and “My Heart” being mentioned, the later not helping with the whole holy war over the heart of innocence. I think I remember too that Deak, his previous name, meant Historian- so even if i’m unsure about Lavi’s name meaning, i do think there’s a meaning that would catch people’s attention in it. Especially someone as sneaky as Wisely.
But it being another name for a Past Bookman... I would dig it. Nothing says the names canot be reused, perhaps even more from some wars to wars.
Another thing though is that with Allen being reborn 16 years ago at least (and the events being far older) with Lavi being now 19, he was 3 years old when Allen was “born”, and if we count that Allen has no memories before his 6 years old I think? Making it a possible of 9 years.
So the Past!Allen/Past Apprentice stuff happened either before Lavi’s birth (so no need to erase any of his memories, only official records), when Lavi was 3 (I doubt he had enough memories to be worried about erasing anything, I do even wonder how long had he been part of the clan) or when he was 9, which would definitly implies memories erasing.
That theory about Past!Allen is super intruiguing though, I give it that! It reminds me of how weird Allen’s internal landscape is after the Paris arc, after he awoke Nea officially. Although I tend to tie it to Nea’s memories since he wakes up as Nea, if it is also linked to some things regarding Allen.... how wicked that’d be. And we do have a person who had an innocence as well in his arm for all we know, someone the “Heart” keeps an eye on. Without entering others theories as for why, there’s definitly something sketchy about past!Allen. The Flood survivor theory is fascinating. I’d have to pounder that a bit.
Take care!

Komui’s Lounge: Vol. 28 (Part 1/4)
(T/N: Big thanks to @candy-crackpot for the raws! This Lounge contains 20 questions in all. I've divided it into 4 parts for ease of reading and translating!)
Featuring: Reever, Lenalee, Allen, Lavi, Kanda
Lenalee: Good afternoon, everyone! As usual, my brother is nowhere to be found. I’m so, so sorry! Anyway, without further ado, we bring you the Komui’s Lounge corner!
Allen: YES! I finally get to feature alongside Lenalee~!
Lenalee: Teehee. I’m so happy, too~! (Allen and Lenalee joining hands and squealing giddily in unison.)
Lavi: Yaaay! Me too~! (Reaches out)
*Thwack!!* (The SFX of Allen’s smiling smackdown)
Lavi: OW!!! That’s your left hand, Mr. Allen!! He literally just smacked me with Innocence!!
Reever: Oi, Allen. You can’t go slapping people with your left hand, you know?
(T/N: “Hear, hear!” said Mana.)
Allen: My apologies. I sensed ulterior motives from Lavi directed towards Lenalee and I just…
Lavi: YOU’RE ONE TO TALK!!
Kanda: All this noise. Would you shut your yammering already, you danged rabbit?
Reever: Aaah, the nostalgia (heartily). How long has it been since you four were last together like this?
Lavi: It seems we’ve received several requests along the lines of, “We want to see the four teens having fun together,” so Hoshino basically bankrupted herself to put this together as a huge fanservice.
Allen: So, it wasn’t because she couldn’t be bothered thinking up new cast combinations every single time…?
Lavi: That’s also highly possible.
Lenalee: Now that you’ve mentioned it, looks like the comic’s supervisor warned her in no uncertain tones to really, really, have the word count in mind when writing this time. One thing led to another and last time was a big no-no, as well…I guess we’ll have to be more mindful as we speak.
Reever: This is especially the case for you, Allen, Lavi. You two have a rich history of fooling about and wasting precious paper. And Kanda, you don’t fight with Allen, too, get it?
Kanda: What the—That’s up to Beansprout, isn’t it?
Allen: HUH!?
Reever: OI! (sweating) Come on! They’re really at our throats with the word count this time, so work with me, for heaven’s sake!
Q1: How popular is Section Chief Reever with the ladies of the Order, romantically?
Reever: Eh?
Lavi: Don’t “eh” us, Section Chief. Come on, man, get a grip!
Reever: Ah, nah. I was thinking it’s a question for Kanda or something…Huh? Me!? You’re talking to me? (sweating)
Kanda: Aren’t you overreacting?
Allen: Please, allow me! I know the answer! Section Chief Reever does have himself a fanclub!
Reever: WHAT!?!?!? (shock)
Lavi: For many a year, Jeryy was club president, and all was peaceful under his management. Then, everything changed when Bonnaire joined the club and began vying for the seat.
Lenalee: I’ve lost track of the number of times people ask me about Section Chief Reever, too. “Wonder if he has a girlfriend,” and all that jazz.
Allen: Well, I guess it’s to be expected. After all, unlike Lavi, Section Chief Reever is handsome and unmatched when it comes to trustworthiness…Wait. Mr. Reever? You’re spacing out.
Lavi: Oi, back the heck up! Didn’t you just diss me in passing?!
Reever: M-my bad…Never thought I’d have anything to do with this topic, after all. Ah, guess I’m hopeless…Also, Allen! Lavi! Haven’t I warned you to watch the idle chitchat?
Allen and Lavi: Ehehe.
Lenalee: So, now that we’ve breached the subject…Do you have a girlfriend, Section Chief? (smiling)
Reever: Whoa, what’s up, Lenalee? You look so happy all of a sudden (sweating).
Lenalee: Well, we’ve never chatted about your love life like this before. I don’t know, it just makes me happy. Soooo, do you have one? Do you? You wanna know, too, right Kanda?
Kanda: Whatever!
Reever: Ah, nah. Well, now I don’t…but I had a girlfriend, once. Right! And that brings us to the end of this discussion!! Moving on!
Allen and Lavi: Aaaaaaaaaawwww! That’s it!?
Reever: Yeah, yeah. Shut up, the lot of you!
Lenalee: ……
Kanda: What’s up, Lena?
Lenalee: Well, just now, he looked kinda sad for a second. So, I just thought, could it be that it ended tragically? Maybe I shouldn’t have asked in the first place.
Kanda: As if them scientists are the oversensitive type who’d be depressed over such things. Don’t you worry.
Q2: Since when did you develop such a huge appetite, Allen-kun? After all, you didn’t seem to eat all that much back in your circus days.
Allen: In my circus days, it’s more like they didn’t let me eat rather than me not eating of my own volition. Then, later, when I was travelling with Mana, we didn’t have much money, so I had no choice but to put up with it. I’ve only been able to eat my fill after Master took me on, and he wasn’t that surprised by my appetite.
Reever: Well, General Cross probably had known Parasitic type exorcists are voracious eaters, after all. And since you were starved like that at such a young age, it took a toll on your growth, didn’t it, Allen?
Allen: Hmm…Yes, I definitely was tiny back then. Although I did hit this growth spurt when I was around thirteen. What a relief it was. And, someday, I would surpass Kanda and Lavi, as well.
Kanda: Wha—Is that so, Beansprout?
Allen: Mwahahaha! How I look forward to the day I would look down upon you, Kanda.
Reever: Cut it out. You cut it out right there (sweating).
Lavi: Could be that Allen’s past trauma is the reason he’s so strongly fixated on food even before he became active as a Parasitic type.
Lenalee: The General made sure to let you eat as much as you needed, didn’t he?
Allen: Well, it wasn’t exactly Master who let me eat, actually…his lovers, more like. The good misses were all extremely wealthy, you see.
Lavi: Man, I’m jealous. The man was living the dream, he was.
Q3: Does Allen like Lenalee romantically? Or is she simply a dear friend?
(T/N—Aight I know I was screaming at Lenalee and Allen featuring together earlier but now I wish one of them wasn’t here because how would we get an honest reaction out of them both now come friggin’ on gaaaaaaaaaargh gurgle gurgle)
Reever: Oh, there’s also the same question for Lavi and Kanda in the pile as well. Alright, lads. Step right up and take turns enlightening us.
Allen: Y-ye-ye-ye-yes??? (Blushing deep red)
Lavi: Oi, Reever! How come you get to dodge this and we don’t, you cheater!!?
Kanda: What a load of bullsh*t……
Lenalee: I love all of you guys (T/N: Agh, f*** me dead, lass!). Aren’t you guys the same…?
Allen: Of course, I love you, Lenalee! You’re my beloved…family, after all. (T/N: After I’m done with this IMMA GO KILL YOU, HOSHINO!)
Lavi: M-m-me too! I love you, too!
Kanda: Ugh. More bullsh*t.
Reever: So, you guys don’t like her as a potential romantic partner?
Allen, Lavi and Kanda: NEXT!! NEXT QUESTION!!! (sweating)
Q4: What is Tyki’s type in women?
Allen and Lavi: THE HELL WE KNOW!!!
Kanda: Reever, choose decent questions, will you?
Reever: Nah. This isn’t me. Hoshino chose all these!
Allen: Whooooo~caaaaaares! Really...
Lavi: Wait, but isn’t he quite obsessed with Allen? Could it be that Allen’s his ty—(and that is when Allen let him have a whack on the dome)
Reever: Oi, oi. Don’t start fighting!
Lenalee: Huh…so, he considers Allen-kun his type?
Allen: No!!! Really! Screw-you-Lavi-you-arse-what-the-hell-did-you-go-blabbering-all-that-crap-for-Oi! (seething)
Lavi: Mr. Allen! Language! Language!
Allen: Lenalee, please! It’s really not like that! That curlyhead’s just your regular old pervert.
Lenalee: But, Allen-kun, you’re…you must know you’re an androgynous, gorgeous young man. That’s why I’m so, so worried right now. Allen-kun…promise me you’ll be careful, okay…?
Allen: Er...Urgh…Alright…(I’m-gunna-freaking-kill-Lavi…)
Lavi: Eep. I sense murderous intent from Alleeeen~
