Aage Gitz-Johansen (August 20, 1897 - 1977) was a Danish artist and writer who after his time at the Academy became a co-founder of the artists' association Koloristerne (1932). Until 1948 he traveled extensively around Greenland with his wife and children. Much of his art captures a romantic folk life in the Arctic.

May 1st, 1964 Danish artist Marcel Rasmussen died, aged 50...
Rasmussen specialized in monochrome woodcuts, often with geometrical abstractions. His puppet series from the mid-50s was a stage between his work in book illustrations and his final completely abstract work.
Rasmussen illustrated works as diverse as Bunyan’s Pilgrim’s Progress and Stevenson’s Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. You can see a lot of his works here: http://marcelrasmussen.com/gallery.html
