Half asleep I walk into the only open kebab place on eleventh street, a place I swore off long ago after never having seen a dining area that hummed before. I ordered a kofta plate, wanting something a little elevated because I was just thinking about it. Got it and could only eat half. It looked like sex: wet and smoky and giving off vapor like a LAN center huddle over half this bread where people was having a chat about some fucking any game that was cool back in 1995. I was spilling some sauce over it and the cashier mr sandwich cum was like: ‘everyone eat, dont even touch food!’ I thought what about potluck? Yhorn Rinnagone said lets do that

Arayes, Stuffed Pita Sandwiches of the Levant
"The parsley/onion/sumac mixture is classic for a reason, the lemony sumac brightening the pungency of the onion, with the earthiness of the parsley helping to calm the bite." Arayes, Stuffed Pita Sandwiches of the Levant
Arayes, confidently states many an internet recipe, are a Lebanese sandwich made of kofta kebab meat spread inside a pita and grilled, generally served as a hot mezze or appetizer. Many other sources–a smaller number, yes, but still significant–claim it to be of Palestinian origin. Some say it comes from Galilee in Israel but based on the number of Lifestyle articles featuring it as a “new craze”…

I didn't have the time or energy this morning or last night to post anything so I'm making a two in one post tonight! Last night we had lamb kofta kebabs from Coles and tabbouleh I made in the food processor. Easy but still nutritious and satisfying :^).
Yesterday I also discovered that the kitchen sink leaks from the hot water inlet into the cupboard. At least we have a dishwasher and can use the cold tap. Thankfully I wasn't storing anything electronic under there and for the time being, the stuff that was there is living on a bookshelf until the leak is fixed.
Today, the neighbours cat made her debut onto our balcony since our balconies are joined. She was hissing up a storm at one of our cats but when another of our cats appeared she ran off. She realised she was outnumbered! I'm curious to see if she comes back over and how she'll react to seeing all three of our cats.
Tonight, dinner was beef stroganoff on mashed potato with salad made up of: tomato, cucumber, spinach and rocket, carrot, sharp cheddar, spring onion and parsley. The dressing I made was: lemon juice and zest, balsamic vinegar, evoo, dijon and seeded mustard, garlic and grana padano.
I know putting salad in the same bowl as the stroganoff is probably a bit unusual but don't knock it til you try it! I think it helps brighten the creamy sauce and mash potato but I can see it being too acidic for some with the sour cream and vinaigrette. We both really enjoy acidic food though so we love this combo.
Also, proof there was plenty of stroganoff and potato under the mountain of salad. I'm not crazy! I just love veg equally to meat and carbs :9.
