I was surprised to find in my second reading of Dracula Daily that Jonathan has canonically taken pictures of Dracula's home in England with a Kodak camera! I didn't realize this since the name was not capitalized.
He says in today's entry that "I could not enter it, as I had not the key of the door leading to it from the house, but I have taken with my kodak views of it from various points."
This is historically accurate as the first Kodak camera was released in 1888 so Jonathan would have had one in 1897. Here's what it would have looked like:

Whatever happened to Jonathan's KODAK?
Oh, good eye!
I was going back and forth on mentioning the kodak camera early on or in a future scene while Jonathan and Mina would be browsing for them. Still tossing a coin on that.
But the gist is going to be that Jonathan, already giddy for his first real big boy solicitor road trip out of the country, definitely brought the kodak along to take pictures of the gorgeous scenery when he had a moment to. Perhaps he got some good shots while on the road or even from the high windows of Castle Dracula!
...And they, like the camera, were part of the many things he had to leave behind during his escape. A fact that Mina pointedly does not bring up when mentioning they should get a new one and which Jonathan bites his tongue about because he doesn't want to dwell on it either. Naturally I will be twisting that knife sooner or later.
Oh, and a last thing. Don't forget about that handy daguerreotype camera at the party going forward. It's amazing what those lovely silver plates inside can capture that the naked eye can't. 👁👁
