1. Her Open Secret:

Amari actually prefers bland foods because her taste buds can't really handle the other intense flavor profiles

2. Secret People Close to Her Would Know:

She has a special journal that she sometimes carries with her. Only her closest friends and most trusted loved ones know certain contents.

3. Secret She Wouldn't Mind if It Got Out:

She's sort of a jack of all trades, master of none when it comes to creative trades. Poetry, sketching, embroidery, painting, (she refuses to go near any type of sculpting or pottery after Muichiros battle with Gyokko). She's not a genius at them, but she still partakes in them because she enjoys the creative spirit.

4. Secret One Person Knows:

Muichiro accidentally walks in on her true humanity. How she's breaking down, sobbing and holding her chest but the moment she sees him, stops in an instant. Cleans up the tears on her face and brings her features back to a neutral expression, her breathing low and slow, minus a slight hitch here and there.

5. Secret No One Knows But She Wants to Tell:

She plays the nohkan and she only plays while she's alone because she doesn't think she's very good. However it's very relaxing for her and her crow.

6. Secret No One Knows And She Doesn't Want to Tell:

She had to defeat Hayate multiple times in hand to hand combat in order to be able to go to final selection. She still feels guilty and apologizes in their letters.

Amari's Taisho Era Secrets:

(aka Fun Facts) I will add more as I think of them 🩶

1. She originally had a blue jay named Nobue when she first joined the Corps. She asked for a crow instead to fit in (and named him Gakuto because he enjoys studying with her 😊).

2. Her body scars and her white pupils (Leukocoria) are from the day her home exploded. She also has an intense fear of fire, which is why it takes her so long to meet Rengoku.

3. It was a surprise to the other Pillars to see how well her and Sanemi got along. Truth is, after their initial meeting, they avoided each other. Until Amari found him in private, crying his eyes out. That's when they had a very long talk and learned that they're both still as human as each other. They 'protect' each other now (emotionally).

4. The reason why she has so many creative hobbies involving her hands, is because she would pick at her fingers and hands until they bled if she didn't. Her favorite pastime is braiding (bracelets at first and then Muis hair).

5. She has memory issues like Muichiro, but they're not as severe as complete amnesia. She gets more of a 'deja vu' type feeling with vague and blurry images every now and then. If she can't figure out what it means, she disregards it. She doesn't tell anyone either unless they're able to guess.

6. She enjoys gift giving 💝. She'll likely give the same things over and over again (see above lol) but she'll start with giving someone a bracelet before it turns into something they enjoy!

7. She originally had gotten a 'Mitsuri' style uniform from the Corps as well, but she just altered it until she met Shinobu. After that, Shinobu helped her get a uniform like Kanaos (crediting @shycroissanti with this bc I didnt think of it until I saw their art this morning 🥰)

8. Gyomei was her first choice for Tsuguko training because she wanted to abandon suffocation altogether. She thought it was holding her back and making missions take too long. Master Kagaya actually convinced her AND Muichiro (when they spoke with him separately) by saying that they may 'find a surprising value in one another.'

9. She has a secret friend who runs a wisteria house 🫢 (future OC).

10. Her strength compared to the other Pillars? She's in between Iguro and Mui. For speed? She's actually closer to Rengoku!

Late?

I just wanted to write something small. Here's a drabble lol. ('She' is implied to be Amari but you're fully welcome to consider this a reader insert 💖)

Word count: 455

She’s late? Muichiro’s fingers continued to pick at his uniform idly as he stared at Ginko while she continued to fly in circles. She never minded keeping him company while he waited.

She’s never late. She would have sent word. Something’s wrong. Or maybe an important mission? No, Gakuto would have notified Ginko by now, he’s quick enough. Where is she?

His thoughts began to pick up speed as his feet moved on their own, one in front of the other. From what if’s to worst case scenarios, his usually anxious mind was now in a full blown panic. Her body, contorted and bloodied, her eyes frightened and lost in an unknown forest, it was a little warm today maybe she passed out in her unifo-

All of his thoughts came to a screeching halt as his body collided with another, sending the other person to the ground. A Kakushi, unimportant. His eyes widened when he saw the person behind the Kakushi, who lay unconscious sprawled across the ground.

“What happened. Where was she.” He ignored the groaning of the fellow Corps member as he moved to kneel next to her. He quickly examined her head and face for any noticeable bruising or damage before scooping her into his arms, holding her close to his chest.

“We-I found-She was over in the paths, I think she had collapsed! Her crow was about to take off when I arri-Hey!” He walked off as they finished explaining everything he needed to hear. Heat exhaustion most likely, she never listened.

He could see the way her haori was sticking to her body since she refused to take it off, even when traveling on foot. He sighed as he lay her in his bed, eyeing her for a long moment before slowly removing it, leaving her in her uniform.

“Lor-”

“Fetch cold water and a cloth.” He hadn’t realized the Kakushi had followed him but at least it meant he didn’t have to leave her side. They sighed as they left the room again, returning with the requested items only moments later.

“Is there anything else, sir? Should I-”

“No. Leave us.” He sighed as he dipped the cloth into the water before wringing it out a bit. He wiped her face clean of the thin sheen of sweat that had accumulated there before placing it on her forehead.

He stared at his hands, clenching them into fists.

“I knew something was wrong and I stayed.” He whispered into the empty air.

“You’re the one who told me to drop my haori in the summer.” A raspy voice responded. His head snapped up and as his eyes met hers, he could feel his body relax.

“‘M sorry I’m late.”

Amari fun fact of the day! (Might make this a thing idk)

There's a direct correlation to Amari's abilities and her teachers. Hayate, her trainer, has a respectable history. He's never taught someone before, though, but he manages to do well enough.

When shes on her own, she moves through the ranks with ease. Especially once she begins training with other Pillars and increasing her abilities (aka learning from better teachers but inconsistently).

Once she's learning under Muichiro, she's flourishing. This is when she learns/discovers her ability to do combination breathing styles and unlocks her demon slayer mark, etc.. They discuss having her fill Tengen or Kyojuro's spot but...well 👀 lets just say theres an issue.
