для меня абсолютно нормально параллельно думать о нескольких фанфиках, поэтому помимо "игры вероятностей" сейчас я размышляю о моей ревёс-ау про демона!Зеницу. это значит, что я изучаю официальную инфу о персонажах, на которой можно выстроить моменты истории. например, кандзи в именах (так, например, уже выходил пост про иероглифы в именах близнецов Цугикуни). эти мини-разборы дают идеи, какие мотивы можно внедрить в повествование и, основываясь на них, какие события включить в сам сюжет

поэтому подбор нового, демонического имени для Зеницу в этой ревёрсной ау-шке был первостепенной задачей, и я очень довольна тем, какое в итоге было выбрано. но речь сейчас не о том. в процессе изучения я нашла очень интересную деталь, которая мне показалась ироничной, и именно о ней этот пост

традиционный узор уроко (鱗) состоит либо из последовательности треугольников разных цветов, либо из ромбов, разделенных на два цвета — в зависимости от того, как на него смотреть. "уроко" в переводе означает "чешуя". это может быть чешуя дракона, змеи или даже рыбы (источник)

в Японии рыба является символом богатства, процветания; поймать большую рыбину, значит обрести счастье. по-китайски иероглифы 魚 [юй] "рыба" и 餘 [юй] "изобилие" произносятся одинаково, так произошел перенос значений, когда слово "рыба" было нагружено понятием "изобилие", "множество", "чрезмерность" (источник)

дракон же на Дальнем Востоке, ассоциируется с царской/императорской властью, в Японии в том числе. дракон читается благопожелательным символом счастья и богатства. с ним связан и образ змея, так как визуальально восточные драконы и змеи имеют много общих черт

оба этих животных ассоциируют с водной стихией, однако если дракон — нечто около божества, величественное, мудрое и благородное, то змея — скорее ёкай и может нести противоречивые значения. от плодородия до смерти. но это, кажется, относится к змеям во многих иконографиях по всему миру, поэтому нельзя назвать это исключительно японской чертой

то есть считалось, что одежда с уроко оберегает и приносит удачу. скорее всего, именно орнамент, стилизованный под уроко, был выбран специально, чтобы подчеркнуть суеверность Зеницу, но есть ещё одна деталь относительно уроко, которая кажется забавной в контексте моей ау

из-за ассоциации с чешуёй величественного могущественного дракона, не говоря уже про благопожелательные смыслы, одежду с уроко часто носили тоже довольно-таки суеверные самураи. те, к которым относил себя Мичикацу Цугикуни до присоединения к Корпусу охотников на демонов

DEMON BUSTERS!! — About Nezuko

And so, the long awaited Nezuko post has arrived!!! Sorry for the long wait everyone, I had to work out some lore stuff and this kept getting delayed, so let’s just get right into it! In case you don’t know or need a refresher, in this modern kny au the Demon Slayer Corps has updated and rebranded into the Demon Busters! People have been dying to demon attacks at alarming rates so to make their jobs easier they’ve been running ad campaigns! However this installment is a little different as this is NOT an ad campaign! To protect Nezuko they did not run an ad campaign on her. Instead, this is known as an ‘about’. Several other characters will be getting an about section but let’s start with our favorite girl Nezuko!

— Lore Dump Incoming!!—

In this au, Nezuko got turned on her birthday. It was supposed to be a fun celebration, she would spend the night at her friends’ house and then go home the next morning to help her family prepare for New Years. Of course when the day actually came, there were complications as Tanjirou would not let her go for whatever reason, stating that he had a “bad feeling” about it. But nothing ever happens in their small town! In fact, the biggest event in a long while was their father’s death a couple months prior. Eventually, after some back and forth they just chalked it up to him being paranoid and she was able to go.

It wasn’t just paranoia. Nobody knew that anything was wrong until the next morning. Tanjirou had gone to pick Nezuko up since nobody had heard anything from her, and was met with a gruesome sight. Just like in canon, Nezuko was the only survivor, but she seemed to be a little off… Firstly, she had tried to attack Tanjirou before quickly coming to her senses after a man called Giyuu Tomioka appeared, stating that he was a “Demon Buster” and she was a “demon” and that he had to slay her. And secondly she no longer had a taste for human food and just slept all the time! Luckily, nobody was slayed, and the siblings were instructed to find a man named Sakonji Urokodaki, Tomioka’s teacher. But they couldn’t just leave! Not after everything. So they came to an agreement: because Nezuko was able to quell her hunger and more or less function like a normal human, the two would go home for now, and then Tomioka would come to pick them up at a later date. As it turned out, in order for Nezuko to get her humanity back, she’d have to become a “Demon Buster”. A perfect way to bring in the new year..

In this au Nezuko keeps her humanity and is more of her own person. This makes it easier for her to get around and get info from other demons easier. She also conquers the sun slightly earlier, but we’ll get to that later. She wasn’t able to really show herself to her family that often until she was able to learn how to disguise herself from none other than Yushiro. Her having a sense of self and a personality separate to Tanjirou also allows for them to go their separate ways a bit more. Of course they stick together but it’s not like Nezuko is bound to the box. They have missions that sometimes requires Tanjirou to go completely solo, thus Nezuko is left to her own devices.

Overall, I really want to explore Nezuko’s character more and there’s so much more to her than what can be explained in a single post. I guess you’ll just have to tag along to find out more huh? This will also allow me to expand more on her relationship in regards to Zenitsu. In canon, it seemed a little one-sided since we weren’t able to get Nezuko’s point of view, but in this au I want to show more mutual interest so it doesn’t come off as weird as it did in canon. This also allows her to make her own friends (read: Muichirou, Senjurou, Genya, and more). Nezuko is a very fun character to explore in this au and I can’t wait to show you guys more!

Also did I mention that a lower moon is seeking to kill her? No? Oh, my bad.

Hakuji as always is drinking his respect women juice, and is widely known to act like an older brother to female demon slayers, as opposed to the men, who he acts much colder and distant with.

Taiga's haori was actually a gift from douma during the ice and blood arc (which takes place during the first two seasons)

Douma himself doesn't know why he felt compelled to give her something. He isn't even aware of the growing attachment he feels towards Taiga.

Taiga was so emotionally attached to the kimono that she made it into a haori to wear with her disguise. She often hugs it at night wishing it were Douma.

Speaking of her disguise, did you know that she only wears such a revealing uniform (despite hating her body) because Douma said she looked great in it? Ofc you didn't, I didn't drop the lore yet.

Sorry for the long wait, but here’s the next installment of the Demon Busters saga! This one is about our favorite Mist Hashira, Muichirou! For anyone who is new here or hasn’t seen the first part, in this modern kny au people have been dying to demon attacks at alarming rates and the Demon Busters (the updated and rebranded Demon Slayer Corps) need a way to get people to call them. In short, they run ad campaigns. Several characters will be getting these ad campaigns. The previous one was Tanjirou and this next one is Muichirou!

—Lore dump Incoming!!—

In this au, Muichirou and Yuichirou’s parents are victims of a demon attack, leaving the twins alone to fend for themselves. Somehow, they make do alone. But they aren’t completely alone, since Amane Ubayashiki comes around from time to time to see how they’re doing. Muichirou is comforted by her presence, but Yuichirou is just confused on how she got their address. Everytime she comes over, she tried to get them under the care of the Demon Busters. Muichirou thinks this is a great idea, since they’d be able to prevent others from losing their parents just like they did. But to Yuichirou, they seem like sketchy criminals. No matter how much he tried to convince him, Yuichirou’s stance wouldn’t budge. It was too dangerous, he’d say, and Muichirou was too weak to do anything so he’d just go out there to die anyway. The Mu in Muichirou meant that he was nothing after all. This disagreement caused a lot of tension between them, and as a result they drifted apart. Their days were filled with tense quiet, until one summer night. On that summer night they were attacked by a demon. The demon cut Yuichirous arm off as he tried to protect Muichirou. Naturally, Muichirou had to do something about this. So with whatever weapons he could find he was(somehow) able to fend off the demon. But the truth is he really doesn’t remember how. He honestly doesn’t remember much of what transpired during that night. He just barely remembers being carried off by Amane and the sound of sirens and red and blue lights. When he woke up he was at the Demon Busters HQ where he was being taken care of. From then on he swore he would train to get stronger, so that’s what he did. But there was still a large gap in his memory.

Muichirou is an interesting case as far as this au goes. He became a hashira in 2 months, the quickest anyone has become one. He’s a full time slayer, but he doesn’t drop out of school. He balances schoolwork, and Demon Busting, not very well since he’s constantly absent, but he does it. Like in canon, he adopts Yuichirou’s personality until he realizes himself, but his progress is accelerated when the flame hashira Rengoku introduces him to his little brother Senjuro. Him and Senjuro are the same age, and Mui needed someone that he could relate to and connect with. They go to the same school and though Senjuro has issues of his own (more on that in a later installment) they somehow connect with each other. Muichirou’s memory is horrible as he has trouble remembering general information about anything really, including himself. However hanging with Senjuro has allowed bits and pieces of his memory to come back, but not nearly enough for progress. It isn’t until Mui meets Tanjirou for the first time (slightly earlier in this au) that everything he supposed he knew about himself gets turned on its head. Muichirou also makes friends with Genya who is the major reason why he hasn’t dropped out of school yet to focus on demon slaying. Genya thinks an education is important, but compared to slaying demons he obviously has different priorities.

Muichirou thinks he’s completely alone and doesn’t have a family anymore, but as time goes on that doesn’t seem to be the case. He finds out about an “investigative force” that’s interested in the Demon Busters (the usual, their inner workings, how they run, etc), but more specifically in him. This is problematic for multiple reasons with the biggest one being that they’re just civilians. And if they’re Demon chasing trying to catch a Buster, a Hashira no less, then they could be in serious danger. But the names of one of these “investigators” sounds extremely familiar. Rumor has it they have the same last name, maybe even look alike. Initially this coincidence seemed unlikely, but the more he finds out about them, the more their reasons for tailing him become clearer, and it’s almost like he can just picture one of the investigators…he seems to remember them…and their name is at the tip of his tongue…

Oh and did I mention that Muichirou has a warrant out for his arrest?

I did not expect you guys to like this au as much as I do!! A quick reminder for this au, even though the backstory seems heavy in this one, this is a mostly lighthearted au that doesn’t take itself seriously, so neither should you! Aoto is not an emotive person, and, despite his bluntness, a man of few words. Their face is completely neutral more often than not, and their voice flat and devoid of emotions. Not much is known of them by the Demon Slayer Corps, not even Kagaya himself could crack the young man's shell.

I usally don't give my kny ocs any ties to canon kny characters but for this one i decided to be la little Cringe™~ (/j) I decided to make Aoto Muzan's (non biological) son hehe :33 daddy issues + daddy with issues! They have a kinda complicated relationship where they don't really LOVE eachother, but Aoto sees Muzan as a father since he raised them. Muzan is very torn on how he views Aoto; on one hand they're a demon slayer, they're going against him by killing other demons, and they don't reveal anything about the corps, not to mention that they're human. But at the same time they don't talk about him to the corps, they're not aggressive towards Muzan, and they actively search for the blue spider lily.

I don’t mention Thinbu much but he is the love child of Rasshu and Gyutaro. Thinbu grows up knowing what Gyutaro did and resents all demons for it. He loved his mother and hates that his father took her away from the world.
