Sonic hadn’t realized he fell asleep; he must be more tired than he expected. Guess having bread for three days isn’t enough to keep him going. At least not with his unnaturally high metabolism. The door opens as he lifts his head. Leven enters and shuts the door behind him.
“Hey Lev,” He smiles at the bear as he approaches, “Shadow finally decide what he’s going to do with me?” He waits for Leven to open the door but is surprised to see a red apple being held out to him. “That for me?” Leven nods as Sonic smiles taking the apple, “Thank you.” He signs before taking a bite of the apple.
He lets out a relieved moan as he savored the taste. The bread that he’s been eating wasn’t bad but this tastes amazing. “I didn’t think there’d be any fruit on the ship, where did you get it?” He asked still eating while watching Leven sign. ‘snagged it from Captain’s stash’
Sonic almost chokes on his bite at that, “No way!” Sonic smiled, “You stole that for me? Wait, you won’t get in trouble will you?” Leven shakes his head as he watches Sonic eat the entire apple, core and all leaving just the stem.
“You’ve already done a lot for me, but can I ask another favor?” Sonic asked as Leven looks confused, “I’m a little stiff from sitting here three days straight, you mind if I stretch my legs?” He looks at Sonic conflicted. “I won’t leave this room, just need to get the blood moving again…” He realizes what he just said. “B… Bad choice of words.” Leven lets out a huff as if trying to hold back a laugh.
‘As long as you stay in here. Besides can’t you unlock the cell yourself?’ Leven asked as he steps out of the way letting Sonic walk out. He starts stretching,
“Yeah well, can you blame a guy for being shell shocked? I thought you all were going to eat me.” Sonic starts running in place, he was surprised at how much energy he had.
“Man I wish I could run.” Sonic said starting to walk around the room. More than anything he just wanted his feet on solid ground again. He had plenty of time to get used to his sea legs, but that wasn’t the same.
‘Do you like running?’ Leven asked, Sonic looks up and smiles at the curious bear.
“It’s my favorite thing in the world. I was not made to be in small places.” He lets out a sigh,
The door opens taking them both off guard as the Wolf comes in seeing Sonic out of his cell. “What do ya think yer doing?” He said storming closer,
“Uh… stretching my legs?” Sonic backed up until he ran into a box, the Wolf slams his hand next to Sonic’s head as he towered over him.
“Is that so?” He inched closer, “Taking advantage of the mute is a bit underhanded,” Sonic glares at the accusation,
“Last I checked his name is Leven. Besides, there’s not many places I can go.” Sonic said, as the wolf quickly grabs him by the throat.
“Ya got a mouth on ya don’t ya?” He lifts him off the ground as Sonic squirms trying to break free. “Cap won’t mind if I rough ya up a bit, get ya to know yer place.”
Leven grasps the wolf’s arm tightly letting out a threatening growl. Squeezing his arm forcing him to let go of Sonic. He lets out a cough as he’s freed but doesn’t have a moment to compose himself before Leven grabs him and pulls him behind.
“Aw, ya protecting the little thing?” He said.
Leven lets go of his arm and quickly signs, ‘Captain wants him alive Grey, don’t make me get Omega involved.’ Grey flinches at that,
“Fine, spoil my fun.” He snarls, “But Cap wants to see him right now so he’s coming with me or would ya like to explain why he wasn’t brought to him?” The two snarl at one another.
“Yeesh! You wanna tone it down there? If he needed to see me that’s all you had to say man.” Sonic said rubbing his neck walking out from behind Leven as he looked at Sonic worried, “It’s cool Lev, I’m okay.” Grey raises an eyebrow at the nickname and Sonic signing to him.
“Come on,” Grey grabs Sonic by the arm and drags him away.
“Again, why so rough?” Sonic said letting him pull him along at this point. “You literally could have just said ‘Cap wants to see ya’ And that would have been the end of it. I’m literally at the bottom of the food chain here, why keep up the façade?”
“Because ya annoy me,” He said with a snarl.
“Okay, but why? We’ve literally only encountered each other a few times…” Sonic thinks remembering their first encounter, “Oh! Is this because I left during our fight?”
“An underhanded trick while we were fighting,” Grey said.
“Hey, if you want a rematch I’d happily oblige,” Sonic said as Grey stops.
“Really?” Grey turns to him surprised, Sonic quickly notice similarities to a certain hot-headed Echidna. He was the type to express himself on the battle field. And probably seeing him fight with Scaro only fueled his need to prove his strength.
“Sure, but we might need more room than that stuffy cell,” He jokes as Grey thinks for a moment.
“I’ll think of something,” Grey said letting go of Sonic’s arm. “Cap’s waiting for you,” He said as Sonic follows him.

REGRET
Following the incident on Narcissus's ship, both Sonic and Eve find themselves unable to communicate with one another, regret eating away at their hearts...
PREVIOUS CHAPTER: DARKEST TERROR: BURNING HATRED
NEXT CHAPTER: HOLLOW SPIRITS
“Here. Can you sit up?”
“Y-Yeah…”
“There. Think you can eat on your own? Your hands don't hurt too much to hold the tray do they?”
“Yeah…”
The girl continued to stare blankly ahead.
“Eve, are you listening?”
“Yeah…”
“Hey…”
She glanced up at her older brother with her despondent, uninjured eye. The human scientist raised an understanding eyebrow, prompting her to look away.
“Want to talk about what happened?”
She continued looking away.
“You know, Sonic won’t tell us what happened either. We’re all really worried about you…both of you.”
A guilty look crossed her expression.
“Did something happen between you two?”
“...”
“...”
“...”
“Okay…I understand…” The young man with the spiky hair rose from the hospital bed, leaving his little sister with her food, “Just…come to me if you change your mind. I love you, Little Sis.”
Her expression fell once more.
“Yeah…”
Chris sighed before leaving the room. The door to the medical bay closed with a resounding click, leaving the blonde, disheveled girl alone as she stared at her food blankly. Many moments passed like that in silence, her mind unsure how to respond or process everything. Then came the memories…
“TALK YOU BASTARD!!!”
“STOP IT!!!”
“OR I’LL MAKE YOU SCREAM!!!”
“LET. ME. GO!!!”
“I WON’T!!!”
SLAM!
“PUH-!”
“Gnh!”
Eve threw the covers off herself, racing towards the door without a second thought.
SLAM!
Tap. Tap. Tap.
The girl in the bandages paced down the hall, hugging her sides and attempting to quell her rapidly beating heart.
She had to breathe.
She had to breathe.
Inhale…
Exhale…
Inhale…
“-!!?”
Just then, she spotted him down the corridor ahead, standing there and staring at her with reciprocated shock and regret.
“Son-”
He dropped his gaze, hugging his arms close to his sides and quickly walking past without a word. She wanted to reach out, hesitating though as she remembered what happened in the medical bay.
That’s right.
He thought she was afraid of him.
All their memories…
Their friendship…
It was all broken now, wasn’t it?
All because of that one moment…
Eve looked down at her trembling hand in remorse before looking back at the hedgehog in the distance once more.
She really screwed up…
And now…
Now she lost the one friend who mattered more to her than life itself.
She had no one to blame for this but herself.
The girl wrapped in bandages dropped her head, finally looking away and continuing on to the flight deck in search of a much-needed distraction.
—----------------------------------------------------------
“It seems sketchy. I don’t know, Tails…”
“I mean…you’re right…but what choice do we have?”
“I’m just saying-”
“We need any extra firepower we can get. We can’t pass this up.”
“Yeah but…remember what happened a few days ago?”
“...”
The young rabbit peeked behind her, catching sight of the disheveled girl as she slowly made her way through the doorway, leaning against it for support and taking a couple heavy breaths as her injured body grew tired.
“Ms. Eve?”
“Ah!”
The pink hedgehog turned around in her seat as the fox and echidna leapt from theirs, racing immediately to the girl’s side. She stumbled, beginning to slide towards the floor just as Knuckles caught her, propping her up carefully against him so as not to hurt her further.
“Woah! Easy! I’ve got you!”
“Thanks…Knuckles…” She caught her breath, not fully realizing the energy she’d spent in getting there.
Tails stopped just before her, a stern expression crossing his features, “Why aren’t you in bed resting?”
“I…” She looked on despondently, “I couldn’t…”
“Still thinking about that mess with Narcissus?”
“...”
Amy walked up to her, placing a hand on her uninjured cheek, “We all are. Just take your time.”
Eve smiled tiredly, “Thanks, Amy…”
“And when you’re ready to talk about it, we’ll be here for you. Okay?”
“...”
Her gaze fell once more, guilt and regret lining her features. Amy’s eyes widened in shock and the three friends looked at each other worriedly. Whatever happened on that base, it had to have been BAD. Neither Sonic nor Eve had uttered a word about it since the incident, but clearly something had happened between them. They didn’t seem to be on talking terms and this concerned everyone else greatly.
Especially the young man watching his friend in the distance.
He folded his arms as he leaned against the far corridor, closing his eyes in thought as the broken, crestfallen hedgehog passed by.
“Sonic.”
The hedgehog stopped.
“Yeah, Chris?”
“We need to talk.”
Sonic swallowed hard.
“A-About what?”
“About my sister.”
Panic set into his gaze as he began to tremble. He turned his head slightly before pausing, unable to bring himself to face his old friend.
“...W-What…What about her?”
Chris left the wall, standing tall behind the hedgehog in the middle of the corridor.
“I know what you did to her…”
Sonic turned sharply around.
“N-No…It…It was an accident…”
“How could you?”
“S-Stop it!”
“My, my, my…”
His eyes flew wide as he recognized the sinister voice behind him.
“You really are a MONSTER.”
“GASP!!!”
Sonic clutched his chest as his heart began to race.
BABUMP!!! BABUMP!!! BABUMP!!!
The young man’s eyes flew wide behind him, “Woah, Sonic?”
GASP!!!
BABUMP!!!
GASP!!!
BABUMP!!!
Chris reached out a steadying hand, “H-Hey! Easy, Sonic…J-Just breathe, okay? I-I didn’t mean to-”
GASP!!!
BABUMP!!! BABUMP!!!
GASP!!! GASP!!!
BABUMP!!! BABUMP!!! BABUMP!!!
He began swaying slightly.
“Son-!”
THUD
“SONIC!!!”
—----------------------------------------------------------
“So that’s pretty much the gist of it.”
“A ‘resistance’ huh?” Eve closed her eyes in deep thought as she leaned against the back wall of Knuckles’s console, juice box in hand, “And they want to help us…?”
“It seems like it.”
“I don’t know, you guys…”
“It…is a lot to take in all at once…Not to mention the message that led us all to…you know…”
Everyone looked down, remembering the mad scientist’s trap that had been laid out.
Knuckles looked up at Tails, “Well…Your call, Captain…”
“I-”
“SOMEONE HELP!!!”
“-!!!”
Everyone turned just in time to see Chris barreling through the door to the flight deck.
“Brother?”
He fought to catch his breath for a moment before continuing.
“IT’S SONIC!!! HE…HE WENT DOWN!!!”
“D-Down!!? As in, he’s out cold!!?”
“Y-Yeah!!”
Eve watched on worriedly.
“What happened!!? Where is he!!?”
“He-”
“I just got a lil’ dizzy is all…heh heh heh…”
Everyone looked behind Chris in shock as the hedgehog in question stumbled through the door in a daze, rubbing his head and smiling nervously.
“What…?”
“DIZZY!!?” His little brother flew down to his side from the captain’s chair, checking him out as he got close, “What happened!!? A-Are you hurt!!!?? You don’t feel any lingering side effects from those fake emeralds do yo-”
BABUMP!!!
Sonic flinched at the mention, swiping the fox’s hand away in a panic. He threw his gaze to the side nervously, “NO! D-Definitely not! I-I feel fine, Lil’ Bro! No need to worry!”
“B-But you-”
“I SAID YOU DON’T NEED TO WORRY!!!”
Everyone froze at the sudden outburst, Sonic included. His gaze shifted upwards to the girl peering down worriedly from above. The moment their eyes locked, she pulled away in a panic, not wanting to make him feel any worse than he already did. Sonic, however, read her concern in a different way.
She was afraid of him…
Of course she was.
After what he did to her…
Sonic’s gaze fell, the light leaving his eyes.
“Please…None of you need to worry about me…”
He had no right to call himself a hero…
Or anyone’s friend for that matter…
“Sonic…”
Amy stepped up, placing a hand on the young fox’s shoulder and offering a momentary distraction to regroup them, “How about you join us, Sonic? We were just deciding what to do about this new message we received.”
“Another message?”
“-!!?”
Everyone turned to look as the door to the flight deck opened once more, revealing the young seedrian whose right eye was now covered by a pink, blossoming flower.
Tails blushed, “Cosmo…” He quickly shook off his feelings and approached her with concern, “How’s your eye?”
Cosmo winced as he reached for it, “It’s…alright…The flower just bloomed on its own from the wound…” She turned away, surprisingly self-conscious for once, “It…looks weird, doesn’t it?”
Tails shook his head before smiling, “Not at all, Cosmo. I think it’s beautiful…just like you…”
“Tails…” She looked at him with wide eyes before smiling, “Thank you.”
Tails froze for a moment, realizing he’d added that last part out loud. His face turned a bright red in embarrassment, though he attempted to hide it, “Y-Y-Yeah!! Y-You’re welcome, C-Cosmo!! Hehehe…”
“Smooth, Tails.”
Amy elbowed Knuckles in the side.
“Ow!”
“Amy, you said something about a message?”
Sonic lingered off to the side, leaning against the wall connected to the doorway with his arms crossed. Amy stared at him for a moment, concerned for her friend’s wellbeing. She released a small sigh, looking down.
“Y-Yeah…Come and see…”
Everyone walked forward into the larger part of the deck except Sonic, who lingered behind in a desire to remain unseen. Chris looked back at him worriedly before pulling up the data for everyone to view.
“It’s from a group that calls themselves ‘The Resistance’. Their leader, Leon, says they want to take down the Metarex ‘at any cost’. They heard about our acts across the Galaxy and want our help. In return, they’ll supply us with both knowledge and heavy-duty weaponry that can take down even the toughest-”
“M-Metarex Lords!!?”
“Yeah. I had a hard time believing it at first too. I mean…what kind of weapon is more powerful than Super Sonic? We already have all the power we need. Plus, it sounds risky.”
Sonic gripped his arm tighter, digging his claws deeper into his fur until he left small marks.
“I say we go.”
“Huh?”
“Sonic?”
Chris watched him knowingly, thinking back to the panic attack he’d witnessed earlier in the corridor, “Like I said, we already have you and the chaos emera-”
“Yeah but what if we didn’t.”
Sonic hid his face as everyone watched him in deep concern and confusion, his sharp tone not lost on them. Eve’s gaze fell, guilt washing over her. Though she couldn’t see him, the tone in his voice told her everything she needed to know.
Tails stared down his brother.
“Sonic…You aren’t sounding like yourself…”
“Your point?”
Tails folded his arms, “Maybe tell me yours first.”
“...”
“...”
“...”
Man he hated being put on the spot like this…
“It’s just…” He searched his thoughts for any believable excuse as he rubbed his head nervously, averting his eyes, “You know…What if…”
“‘What if’…what?”
Damn. His brother really wasn’t letting him off easy, huh?
Sonic sighed.
“What if I’m not…you know…around to save the day…”
Tails’s eyes flew wide in shock and concern.
“Okaaaaay…And what exactly does that mean? Are you planning on going somewhere?” He added that last part in a challenging tone, daring Sonic to follow through with one of his crazy, selfless stunts.
“W-What!? Not at all, Lil’ Bro!! I-I’m just…y-you know…” His face flushed a bit in embarrassment.
Eve’s heart sank, though she remained quiet.
“No actually, I don’t know. Please elaborate on that.”
Sonic gulped, “I-It’s just…”
“Just what?”
He was getting tired of his brother’s games.
“...”
“Say it, Sonic!”
“Rrrrrgh! It’s just that maybe you shouldn’t rely on me to be the hero all the time!!!”
The air fell still.
Everyone fell silent.
“Okay!!? There, I said it!!! Happy!!? What if I can’t always save the day, huh!!? W-What if I just make things worse for everyone!!? What then, Tails!!? Huh!!? I already failed twice to take down Dark Oak as Super Sonic!!! What if I fail a third time and can’t come back!!? What’s your plan then!!? Huh!!? What’re your next steps!!?”
“I-I…”
“Go on!!! I’m waiting!!!”
“I…” He looked down in defeat, “I don’t know…”
Sonic’s gaze fell as well, “Yeah…that’s what I thought…”
“...”
“...”
“...”
“Anyone else?”
More silence.
“Then we leave for this resistance base immediately. Everyone get some rest while you still can.”
Sonic turned to leave, being stopped by a swift grab to his arm. He winced from where he’d dug in with his claws, but otherwise remained unfazed as his older brother leaned in with a whisper.
“What is going on with you?”
“Nothing…”
“That back there didn’t seem like ‘nothing’...”
“...”
“Are you stressed? Overwhelmed? Tired? Guess what? We ALL are. This journey has been rough on ALL of us, our brother and captain especially. What you did back there wasn’t cool.”
“...”
Sonic continued looking away, a sickeningly guilty expression washing over him.
Knuckles softened a bit, eyes growing wide with worry, “Is…Is this about what happened to Ev-”
Sonic ripped his arm away, tears springing up in his eyes, “WHY DON’T YOU JUST GO BACK TO GUARDING YOUR DUMB EMERALD AND LEAVE ME THE HELL ALONE!!!”
Knuckles froze as he watched an immediate wave of regret cross Sonic’s features. After a moment, the hedgehog turned away sharply.
“Just…leave me alone please…I really need to be alone right now…”
Knuckles paused before leaning in once more, speaking gently this time.
“Just don’t forget who your friends are, okay?”
Though he meant to encourage his younger brother to open up to the people who loved him, Sonic took the statement as if he’d done something wrong, further driving away what remaining friends he had left.
He left the flight deck without another word.
—----------------------------------------------------------
knock knock knock
The blue hedgehog remained lying on his bed, back turned towards the door.
“Go away…”
“Mr. Sonic?”
“Chao chao?”
The door creaked open, the light from the corridor peeking into the dark room along with the small rabbit and her chao friend.
“Huh?” Sonic turned to face the door briefly. Though he wanted to be left alone, he could never bring himself to be rude or dismissive to the young, innocent girl, “Oh…Hey Cream…Hey Cheese…”
“Hello!” She flashed a cheerful smile, her hands clasped behind her back and hidden from sight.
“Chao chaaoo!” Cheese pumped a happy fist into the air.
“Sorry…I’m…not really in the mood right now for visitors…”
“That’s okay! I’m not here to visit!”
“Huh? Then what are you here fo-”
The rabbit rushed him, throwing one of her signature flower crowns over his head before offering him a warm hug, Cheese in tandem.
Sonic paused for a moment in shock before chuckling and ruffling the rabbits hair slightly, “Oh I get it. You're here to try and cheer me up, aren’t ya?”
“Yup! Mr. Chris said you weren’t feeling too well so Cheese and I knew we had to do something!” Cream pumped her fists enthusiastically.
“Chaooo!”
“Of course he did…Well I- Oop!” Cheese lunged in, nuzzling into Sonic’s fur beneath his chin and offering a small purr of affection, his antenna turning into a small heart. Sonic released a small sigh, cradling the young chao gently in his hand as he fell asleep. The hedgehog released a small but genuine laugh, pointing to their chao friend with his free hand and smiling sheepishly, “I uuh…think he fell asleep…”
“Yup!” Cream sat on the bed next to Sonic with a seemingly innocent smile, “He does that whenever he trusts someone deeply! And I like to think my very best friend is a good judge of character! Isn’t that right, Cheese?”
“Zzzzzzz….”
Sonic shook his head affectionately, “Okay okay…I get it…”
“Get what? I was just saying something nice about my friend, and Mama says that saying nice things helps make others happy!” She offered the hedgehog a wink.
Sonic chuckled slightly before his smile faltered, his gaze falling along with it, “Right…Say, Cream?”
“Yes?”
“Have you ever met someone that…well…that you couldn’t say nice things about?”
“Hmm…Not that I know of. That person would have to be very very mean!”
“Mean, huh?”
“And they would have to hurt their friends!”
Sonic winced at the comment.
“H-Hurt their friends…huh…”
“Yeah! And be a mean ol’ super villain!”
“Super…”
Sonic glanced down at his free hand, watching it as it began to tremble.
“Would you say…a-a monster even…?”
“Hm?”
“I-I mean…c-could someone like that…”
BABUMP!!!
“...ever call themselves a hero?”
BABUMP!!! BABUMP!!!
“...o-or e-even a frien-”
BABUMP!!! BA-
Sonic’s eyes widened, his mind returning to the present as the small rabbit placed her hand in his. He looked into her eyes as she smiled.
“You know…Mama told me that sometimes the scariest things are only scary because we don’t know them yet. That’s why we come up with names like ‘monster’. But that doesn’t mean a ‘monster’ doesn’t have feelings or can’t be a hero. Maybe this ‘monster’ you're afraid of just needs someone to be nice to it. Maybe it’s lonely and needs a friend to cheer it on!” She popped off the bed, her ears flapping slightly with enthusiasm.
Cheese nuzzled deeper into Sonic’s chin fluff.
Sonic sighed, staring ahead despondently. “Maybe…or maybe it just needs to disappear…”
“But if it disappears, then we’ll never know if it was really a hero in disguise, will we?”
Sonic continued staring ahead.
“Hmm…Maybe it needs a proper name to feel better…I know! How about ‘Mister Monster Guy’!”
“M-Mister Monster Guy!?” Sonic sighed, “Well…can’t get much more accurate than that…”
“Right! Then we’ll cheer him on together!”
“Zzzzzzzz….”
Sonic’s gaze fell once more, “...Sorry, Cream…I…don’t think I’m the best person for that…”
“What!? But Mr. Sonic, you’re the nicest, most caring, most heroic person I know!”
Sonic jolted, his eyes glistening with tears.
“If anyone can help ‘Mister Monster Guy’, I know you can!”
He gritted his fangs, trembling slightly in denial.
“Because you’re a true hero!”
Sonic sat there, continuing to tremble for a moment as he fought back the tears. He then looked up at her, smiling hopefully as he wiped his nose, his voice choking up from his efforts not to cry.
“Th-Thank you Cream…I…really needed to hear that…”
Cream leapt in for another hug.
“Anything for ‘Mister Monster Guy’!”
Sonic chuckled slightly, hugging the rabbit tighter.
“ZzzzzzZzzzzz…”
The two Mobians pulled away, looking to the tiny chao still fast asleep in the hedgehog’s palm.
“Huh…Guess he was really tired…”
“You know what this calls for, right!?”
“What?”
“A slumber party!!” The rabbit pushed him over playfully.
“WAH-!!”
FOMF
The two playmates laughed joyously, forgetting all about the Metarex and their strife as they partook in their spontaneous space playdate.
—----------------------------------------------------------
“Zzzzzzz….”
“Zzzzzzz….”
Cream watched with a warm smile as Sonic laid there passed out on his bed, Cheese sprawled out comfortably on top of his face with a few extra flower crowns wrapped around his quills, wrists, and ankles. She giggled at the sight before looking towards the cracked door as a shadow moved about ever so slightly, catching her eye. Before long, the worried eyes of a young, teenage girl appeared, looking at her as if to ask if the coast was clear. The rabbit nodded, prompting the girl with the bandages to fully peek around the corner and look upon the scene. She smiled, having camped out and heard their entire conversation from just beyond. She looked back up at the rabbit, mouthing two very important words:
“Thank you…”

Cream smiled back, nodding in support as the girl then slipped away from the scene, retreating back through the empty halls as she gazed ahead melancholically.
Even if she couldn’t approach him…
Even if she could never repair the damage she’d caused…
At least she could act in the shadows to ensure that Sonic, her oldest and dearest friend, would be okay.
That, for her, was enough to ease the aching regret in her heart.

Fictober Day 17: "Strangest thing I ever heard"
You can check it out on ao3 here if you prefer.
Summary: Sonic tells Super about his adventure fixing a broken planet. Super clearly doesn't know what to think about Sonic's odd adventures.
Set in my Chaos Uncontrolled AU
Warnings: None
Word Count: ~900 words
Sonic stretched as he relaxed in the headspace he and Super shared. The two didn't meet here often, typically just talking and being able to feel each other's emotions was enough, but Sonic had specifically requested a "face to face" for this. He wanted, no needed to see Super's reactions when he told him about this particular adventure. "You just gonna keep sitting there or are you actually going to start this?" Super sat cross legged across from him, chin balanced on his hand and bored look on his face.
"Just collecting my thoughts dude." Sonic chuckled. "Now then… where to start…" He snapped. "Ah right! Eggman trying to threaten the planet with a fleet of spaceships. I of course went up to stop him. Things got a little dicey so I ended up using the emeralds." He looked away. "Guess Eggman had been expecting me to come with them though cause he ended up trapping me and using the emeralds to power some big laser that broke the planet apart. Draining the emeralds in the process."
Super held up a hand, a mildly bewildered look on his face. "Why the hell did you mention the planet literally breaking into pieces so casually?"
"Well as you could probably tell we got it all fixed so." Sonic shrugged. "If I think too hard about it I realize just how serious Eggman can be sometimes."
Super growled. "Alright whatever. Continue."
"Right. Turns out he split the planet apart to wake up Dark Gaia. Somehow him using me kinda as a battery for that caused me to uh, gain an additional form for a bit." He tapped his chin. "You know werewolves right?"
"Yeah..?" Super blinked.
"Great. So I basically turned into one at night. Called it the werehog." Sonic chuckled to himself. "After the planet was in pieces Eggman launched me abd the emeralds out of his ship and I got sent hurtling towards the planet. I survived though, of course."
"... I have so many questions." Super's face was blank.
"Please save any questions for the end of the story. Cause I know there'll be more." Sonic grinned. "Not long after I crash landed I found this little guy I ended up calling Chip. He couldn't remember anything and that included a name. I promised I'd help him out."
"On top of literally fixing the planet?" Super rose a brow.
"Yep." Sonic nodded. "It just felt like the right thing to do." He shrugged. "Anyway it was that first night after meeting Chip that I realized that the werehog would be a nightly thing. Also found out that Dark Gaia could mess with people's emotions. Oh yeah, and my arms could stretch. Useful, but odd." Super's face twisted up into some emotion Sonic couldn't place. "Questions after remember?"
Super took in a sharp breath. "Fine." His voice was tight.
Sonic took a deep breath before really getting into the meat of the adventure. Super did his best to keep his face neutral throughout everything but the other hedgehog was clearly failing. With every new thing Sonic brought up, whether it be placing the drained Chaos Emeralds in the Gaia Temples to restore them and pieces of the planet or mentioning Professor Pickles’ love for very specific cucumber sandwiches, Super’s face grew more and more confused.
“-in the end it turned out Chip was Light Gaia. His memories were all messed up because he and Dark Gaia got woken up early.” Sonic let a wistful smile slip onto his face. “In the end me and him teamed up and sent Dark Gaia back to sleep. Ended up fighting the thing in the core of the planet using the emeralds, and Chip making a golem out of the Gaia Temples.” He sighed. “Had to say goodbye after that, Chip had to go back to sleep.”
Super had his head in his hands. He groaned before looking up at Sonic again. “Done?”
“Yeeeep.” Sonic popped the p.
“Good, because that was the strangest thing I’ve ever heard in my relatively short life.” Super gestured to Sonic. “You becoming a werewolf, the planet literally being in pieces, you fighting a god in the core of the earth alongside another god?” The other hedgehog sounded slightly out of it by the end.
“You clearly have no idea how weird some of my adventures can get.” Sonic chuckled.
“And I’m not sure I even want to know now. What could be weirder than all that?” Super had a deadpan look on his face. Sonic simply shrugged. “You know what-” Super held his hands up. “Even if there is something weirder I don’t wanna know right now. I still need to process all that.” He rubbed his temples.
“Hey, you asked me to tell you about this one.” Sonic chuckled.
“I was naive and blinded by curiosity as to what the heck those people were talking about in Holoska.” Super pinned his ears down and pointed at Sonic. “I thought they were just exaggerating something.”
“Nope.” Sonic stood up and stretched. “Well I’ll leave you be to… process.” He couldn’t help the short chuckle that left him.
“Yeah, fine, good.” Super waved him off, looking distracted.
As Sonic blinked open his real eyes he couldn’t help the amused smile that came to his face. He’d definitely have to tell Super about his other adventures some time.

For day two of @kaneraweek, behold my latest fic! Canon compliant, set after A New Dawn and before SWR
Read on AO3
It used to be, Hera didn’t have to fix nearly as many appliances on the Ghost. Sure, the caf maker had broken down once or twice, and obviously the ship itself needed upkeep all the time.
But before Kanan had joined her crew, she’d kept the kitchen appliances to just the caf maker, the stove it had come with, and a cooling supply unit. Basic and easy, nothing too fancy.
When Kanan had arrived, he’d almost immediately started pestering her about buying all manner of “completely essential” appliances. First the therma-slice for toasting bread, then a blender. By the time he started on his waffle maker vendetta, Hera had instituted the “buy it with your own money and you’d better have a really compelling argument when you bring it home” rule.
This had slowed Kanan a little, and had seen him heading back to the store to return a few items. But he remained stubborn on others of the appliances— and Hera had to admit, his arguments could be very compelling. Mainly the ones that resulted in some of his more delicious dishes.
Luckily for him, the meals were making the repairs worth it. At the moment, Hera was working on repairing the sonic dishwasher— although she was pretty sure it was a lost cause. Kanan had found it second hand a few months ago, and it had seen better days, to say the least. The filtration system was barely clinging to life, and as a result the dishes were receiving more of a gentle dousing than a proper scrub.
We’re probably going to have to go back to handwashing dishes, she thought, sliding out from under the counter where it was installed. Setting the spanner she was holding back into the tool box, she rose to examine the parts scattered across the countertop.
“Here’s hoping some of this is salvageable,” she muttered— to whom, she wasn’t sure. She’d sent the other two crewmembers on a supply run. Kanan had been planning to pick something up for dinner, and Chopper had been sent with him to monitor exactly how much he spent. The man had a bad habit of spending far too much on seasoning.
As she started picking over the parts, a new song hummed out of the tiny speaker she had set up a little ways away, playing one of the music chips she and Kanan had found at the black market on Lothal. To her surprise, Hera recognized the song.
It was a song she’d heard a hundred times growing up, one her mother had loved. A swell of emotion pushed through Hera’s chest as she remembered Eleni Syndulla dancing and singing along to the song.
Swaying a little in time to the music, she closed her eyes, trying to remember the way she’d moved. It had been years since Hera had actually danced, and she’d never been the best dancer. But hearing this song, remembering her childhood, she found herself wanting to.
The sounds of the violin hummed through the air, and Hera hummed with it as she moved, her steps graceful as she followed the patterns her mother had traced on their kitchen floor when she was so much younger.
Growing more confident, she lost herself in the music, finding her rhythm much more quickly than she would have expected. Spinning, her steps were quick and light as she twirled again— and then came face to Kanan, who was standing in the doorway.
Hera froze, shock cutting through her. Judging by Kanan’s expression, he was just as surprised. “Sorry,” he said quickly. “I just came to tell you that we’re back— I didn’t mean to disturb you.”
“You didn’t,” Hera said, her voice a little harsher than she’d meant it to be. She felt a flash burning across her face and turned, intending to move towards the radio and turn it off, but Kanan’s voice stopped her.
“I didn’t know you could dance.”
“I can’t.” Hera paused, realizing how silly her words sounded. “Well. I don’t. Usually.”
“Ah.” Kanan’s voice was quiet, thoughtful. Perhaps he was thinking, as Hera was, of the weight behind those words. Behind the culture she’d come from, where dancing wasn’t just dancing, but the job, far too often, as a slave.
He was the first one to break the silence. “I’ve never seen anyone dance like that. Would you… could you show me how?”
Hera, who’d been in the middle of turning off the speaker, stopped with her hand on the knob. Glancing over her shoulder, she frowned at Kanan. “What?”
“I’m wondering if you’ll teach me,” he said, a flash of self consciousness crossing his face. His tone stayed easy and matter of fact as he said, “If you don’t mind.”
Hera stared at him for a minute. “If this is some half-hearted attempt to flirt with me—”
“It’s not!” Kanan protested. “Listen, I like dancing. And I like learning new things. This is the perfect combo.” Pausing, he frowned at her. “And I’ll have you know my flirting is never half-hearted.”
Hera snorted with amusement despite herself. “How could I make that mistake?” She paused, thinking over the moves she knew. “Okay, I’ll see what I can do. This dishwasher isn’t going anywhere anyways.”
“Does that mean the repairs aren’t going well?” Kanan asked as Hera turned up the song, filling the room with the vibrant sounds of the violin.
“Let’s just say I wouldn’t pin all your hopes on that thing,” Hera said wryly, turning to face him. “Okay. Let’s give this a shot— I haven’t done this since I was a little girl, and my mother taught me by being my partner. So here goes nothing.”
“I have utter faith in you, Captain Hera,” Kanan assured her, taking the hand she offered him. His fingers laced between hers, and Hera felt a fleeting shiver go down her spine as he gave her hand a quick squeeze. “Ready when you are.”
Pushing the feeling away, Hera said, “Okay. Move with me.”
She started to take the first step— and nearly tripped over Kanan’s feet as he moved in the opposite direction. Cursing, he said, “Sorry, sorry. Wrong way.”
Clamping down on the urge to laugh, Hera said, “Let’s start again— this time a little slower.”
Step by step, she slowly walked him through the dance until he was confident and the song had long since finished. Then, she went back over to the speaker, and started it up again. “Let’s see how you do a little faster,” she told him.
His grin was confident and his grip was sure as Kanan took her hand. And then they were moving, feet tapping the ground in sync with the tempo of the drums.
Their start was a little off center, Kanan stumbling a little. But then he found his balance, catching up with her easily. He’d paid good attention to her instructions, and it paid off. Before long, any former missteps were long forgotten as they fell into the rhythm of the dance together.
They were moving in perfect tandem as they spun around the room, the drums and violin echoing through the kitchen. For what felt like forever, Hera could only feel Kanan’s hand in hers, the song humming through her veins, and a warm certainty that came from having the right partner. One who could keep up with her, no matter what.
And then, with a final burst of music, the song was done, and Hera was standing still, hand in hand with Kanan in the middle of the kitchen. Her heart was pounding against her collarbone, and as Kanan grinned at her, she found she couldn’t quite catch her breath.
“Not bad, dear,” she said as another song came onto the speaker, this one slower and smoother.
“Thanks,” Kanan said. “I’m a little better at dances that I’ve actually had some time to practice, though.”
There was a question in his voice, a hint of a challenge, and Hera couldn’t resist meeting it. “I’ll be the judge of that,” she said, her voice dry but teasing.
The smile that crossed his face sent a warm flutter through her, and he caught her other hand, bringing it up to his shoulder. “Then by all means, judge,” he said, and with a smooth step they were dancing again, this time a slow waltz like they danced in the Core Worlds.
He hadn’t been wrong— Kanan was good at this, keeping time easily and guiding her gently. As they circled the kitchen, he quietly asked, “I’m assuming that song means something… personal to you?”
“It does,” Hera said, her gaze dropping to her feet. She counted her steps for a minute before she said, “It’s… my mother used to dance to that song. It makes me think of her.”
For the first time, there was the tiniest hitch in Kanan’s stride. “I didn’t mean to pry,” he said. “You don’t have to—”
“No— I want to,” Hera said, finding that it was true. That here, her fingers laced with Kanan’s, she wanted to tell him about her mother.
She couldn’t remember a time when that had happened before.
“It was when I was little,” she told him. “During the Clone War, when we were in the bomb shelters. She would show me the steps to this dance to distract me from the explosions. And to keep me from going to look at the ships.”
Kanan chuckled. “Sounds like you.”
“Hmm. Even when we weren’t in danger, I always seemed to hear that song around her.” Hera smiled at the memory. “I even found her and my father dancing to it once— and he’s not exactly one for dancing. But he— he did it for her, because he loved her. And she loved that song.”
Biting her lip, she paused, then said, “She died when I was thirteen.”
There was no response, and Hera dared a glance at Kanan’s face, wondering what she’d find. His eyes were gentle as he said, “The Empire?”
Hera gave a quick nod, feeling her throat tighten. “After that, it was just me and my father. And he was so focused on leading the Rebellion on Ryloth… it was only a few years before I took off on my own.”
Letting out a shaky exhale, she said, “But I still think of her when I hear that song. And that dance is… it’s hers, to me.”
“When I asked,” Kanan said slowly, “I didn’t mean to pry into something personal—”
Hera shook her head, cutting him off. “No, no— you weren’t. It was… it was nice to tell someone else about it. She would have liked that.” She hesitated and then added before she could think better of it, “She would have liked you.”
Kanan’s eyes widened, and then a pleased look flashed across his face. “I’m sure I would have liked her,” he told her, his voice deep and sincere. The warmth in his voice made her suddenly hyper aware of his hand resting on her waist, his eyes on her. And… it wasn’t in a bad way.
Kriff. Hera held back her wince. This was the sort of thing she was trying to ignore, but had been finding harder and harder to miss lately. Namely, Kanan. His kindness, and his warmth, and how he treated her. Like she mattered, like his captain. Like a friend and… sometimes something more.
And she shouldn’t admit how much she enjoyed those times. Because she didn’t have time, she had to focus on the cause. Nothing mattered more than that. Nothing could.
But when he joked with her, or made a point of making one of her favorite meals, or called her “Captain Hera” in that voice, it could be very hard to remember that nothing was supposed to matter more.
Even now, dancing with him in the kitchen, his hands gentle but firm, her mind whispered, What if I could have this, and still fight?
You know you can’t, she told herself. You’ll put it all first, and he deserves better than that. He wouldn’t stick around anyways, not for long. Not with that. No one could wait for that long.
“Hera?”
Kanan’s voice cut through her thoughts, and she glanced back up to see him studying her with concern. “You okay?” he asked. “You looked like you were a thousand miles away.”
“Fine,” Hera said, pushing the thoughts aside. “Just— just thinking. We should probably go get the rest of the supplies inside, and—”
“Hera.”
This time, it wasn’t a question, and Force, why did he have to look at her like that? Like she was the only thing in the galaxy, like the stars themselves were shining in her eyes. Hera tried to force herself to step back, to move away.
But she couldn’t. She didn’t want to. For once, she wanted something for herself, one thing that wasn’t a part of her cause. And so she stepped closer to Kanan and cautiously pressed her lips against his.
He went very still, and then he was kissing her back, hand at her waist pulling her closer and his free hand moving up to cup the side of her face. And his response was far from cautious. It was warm and gentle and so completely Kanan that Hera felt almost weak at the knees.
She hadn’t thought that it would be like this. So… right. Like she’d found a part of herself she was missing. And now that she found it, how was she ever supposed to be without it?
A clatter of metal on metal, and loud binary bwomping jerked her back to reality, and Hera pulled back, breaking the kiss. She stared at Kanan, who was just as wide-eyed as she was, and then turned to where Chopper was sitting in the doorway. “What the kark is going on in here?” the droid demanded. “We were supposed to bring in the supplies.”
“You’re right,” Hera said, shocked that her voice could stay so steady when she felt like she was shaking to pieces. “Both of you get started on that— I need to finish up here. And no arguments, Chopper,” she added as the droid started to beep a protest. “This isn’t a discussion.”
Chopper grumbled something sulky, and rolled back down the hall. Leaving Hera alone. With Kanan. Who she had just kissed.
Forcibly shoving the memory out of her mind, she told him, “You should go, too.”
“So… we’re not going to talk about—”
“No,” Hera said, keeping her voice firm and steady. “I am going to apologize, and then we’re not going to talk about it ever again.”
Because that was all she could do. She couldn’t have Kanan and the cause. There was no way. So she met his gaze and said, her voice soft, “I’m sorry. Now, please… go help Chopper.”
His gaze was unreadable as he studied her for a moment, then slowly nodded. “Okay.”
“Okay,” Hera echoed, and turned back to the pieces of the dishwasher scattered across the counter, trying to pretend like he wasn’t still standing behind her, watching her. Trying to pretend like she couldn’t still feel the ghost of his lips on hers.
She heard him step closer to her, then pause. “Hera? Thank you.”
Hera wasn’t sure whether she should laugh or burst into tears. “For what?”
“For the lesson. And… for telling me. Trusting me. It means a lot.”
With that, he turned and left, footsteps echoing inside the hallway, leaving Hera in a swirl of emotions she didn’t know how to put back together. That was so, so stupid. Why did I have to do that?
It wouldn’t be easy to go back after this, but she’d find a way. A way to pretend they were just friends, that he didn’t mean more to her. She’d remind herself that the cause came first, that there were people who needed help, and go back to being his boss and his friend.
But. In the latest parts of the night, when she couldn’t hold it back, the memory of the kiss would resurface. And she would know that it was worth it. And that if she had the choice, she wouldn’t have changed it. She only would have stopped him from walking away.

Cybernetics - Chapter 28
Amy Rose is a mechanic, plain and simple. But aside from that, she feels utterly alone in a cruel world where she makes just enough to scrape by. One night she’s visited by a mysterious Cyborg that needs his arm fixed, little does she know this repair will change her life.
Flung from the confines of her normal life, Amy finds herself working with Anarchists set on creating a new life for themselves and the poor people of Mobius. The only downside? Seeing who she thought was her best friend fight against her.

“With so many of us on the ship it should be easy to overwhelm him. He’ll risk damaging his own ship if he tries to fire from outside.”
“The most difficult part is getting away before the ship explodes.”
Blaze and Whisper explain passionately to the group of Mobians before them. Admittedly, it's a bit shocking to Amy that their small group has doubled in size in the last day or so. Though she still didn’t love or completely trust Sonic or Tails or Knuckles, they all shared at least one common goal– and that was the goal they were currently set to act on.
Shadow had eventually come back, though he’d yet to speak a word to anyone. Even now, he glared wordlessly at Blaze and Whisper as they stood at the head of the room explaining the plan. While everyone else had taken a seat– be it on a couch, chair, or floor– Shadow had opted to lean against the wall in a dark corner.
At first Amy had chocked it up to normal, broody, solo working Shadow behavior– but now it was more clear to her. He felt betrayed.
In her time working with them she’d only known him to trust two mobians. Rouge and Blaze. Of course he felt some amount of betrayal from the fact that Blaze had seemingly suddenly turned on him to get Sonic– someone he hated– on their team. She could only imagine she’d be pretty pissed if he suddenly wanted to bring Tails on as a new mechanic.
It was then that she realized she was staring as their eyes met and he stared back. Amy jumped for a moment before returning her gaze to the front of the room. She could feel his eyes boring into the side of her head. She glanced over again, this time he looked away.
“Everyone got that?”
When the room echoed a resounding yes Amy was confronted with the fact that she had not, in fact, got that. She had been too busy analyzing Shadow.
“Alright. Break for an early wakeup.” Blaze clapped her hands once and the room erupted into movement.
Sonic and Tails seemed to hightail it out while Omega went back to rest mode. Amy stood and went to move to Rouge, but watched as she got stopped by Knuckles. The echidna android seemed to be speaking passionately about something. Rouge looked tiredly over to Amy with a roll of her eyes, seemed like she wouldn’t be getting out of that one any time soon.
“Did you need something?”
“Ack!” Amy exclaimed, jumping forward a bit and whipping around.
Shadow stood, arms crossed, behind her. He tilted his head at her reaction.
“Jeeze, scared me.” She sighed.
“Did you need something?” He repeated, “You stared at me for a whole three minutes during that meeting.”
“Oh. Right. Sorry. I didn’t mean to.” She responded sheepishly, “I was worried when you disappeared and then I got caught up thinking about how… I get it. I guess.”
“You get it?”
“Yeah, I mean–” Amy shifted to stand on her other leg, shoving her hands in her pockets with a shrug, “-- I’d be pissed off if I were you too. Blaze really kind of played dirty on this one.”
Shadow didn’t respond, glancing away. Seemed like he had other stuff on his mind.
“Sorry. I know you guys have been working together for a while. That's just how I saw it.”
Again, silence. But after a moment he looked back.
“You didn’t get any of that plan, did you?” He asked.
“...No.”
“Come on.” He beckoned as he made his way out of the room, “So they made replica ships…”
-
This organization ran even deeper than Amy could’ve imagined.
A decked out underground bunker was not on her list of things she would’ve expected after she spent so many days in that dirty, abandoned looking base.
Here, things were teeming with life. Different resistance workers filled every corner, and they each seemed to have their own job. Now she stood before one that was making sure the ship was all set for take off– they scribbled notes on a clipboard and tapped pieces of metal to make sure they were tight.
“Ready for round two?” Rouge landed next to her with a grin, leaning on her shoulder.
Amy stumbled a bit but regained her balance to look back over.
“Well, now that I don’t have a concussion I think our flying should be a bit smoother.”
Rouge laughed and patted her on the head.
“The computer inside the ship has a docking sequence pre-installed that we scraped from the other ship. Then we made our own AI to control the path you take to Dr. Robotnik’s own ship. You shouldn’t have to lift a finger.” The technician reassured as they finished their inspection and turned back to the duo.
“Thanks.” Rouge smiled and nodded as the technician walked away. Amy sighed.
“I’m sorry we can’t bring Omega. It feels like I just fixed him to help us out and he's already getting left behind…”
“It's not your fault,” Rouge scolded, “he's just too big to fit in one of these things.”
The duo looked over to the entry of the underground hangar- Omega stood by the door, fiddling clumsily with some sort of cube Tails had handed him a while ago. His large fingers prodded the thing until it flipped over, his eyes would flash in surprise, and then he would go back to prodding the cube.
“Blaze said your flight suits are in the locker room down to the right.” Shadow’s voice came from their left.
“Wooow, outfit change for the big guy.” Rouge whistled with a grin, moving to pat Shadow on the shoulder. As Amy looked over she saw Shadow duck away from her playful grip, a scowl on his face. But she could see the softness behind it all.
Amy was struck with realizing the last time she’d seen him without his cloak she’d been very disoriented, now that she was thinking clearly she could tell how strong he really was. His flight suit had been cut at the shoulders to make room for his cyborg arms, but the flight suit clung tightly to his otherwise toned body. Red piping down either side of his chest and up his neck, a utility belt broke the top from the bottom- though the red piping continued down his legs to his rocket shoes. When he turned to push Rouge away again she could just barely see the hidden zipper on his back, fabric cut with slits to allow his quills and tail to poke through.
Just then, that very slow moment cut back to reality as she shook her head slightly and looked up to make eye contact with Shadow and Rouge.
“Did Blaze colorcode everyone?” She joked.
“Yes.” Shadow responded, a hundred percent serious.
“Oooh, I wonder what color I got.” Rouge hummed, making her way over to Amy and looping her arm through the pink hedgehog’s, “Stop looking at the eyecandy and get changed, would you?” Rouge muttered in her ear with a grin.
“Hey!” Amy exclaimed, turning to follow Rouge’s drag.
The android laughed, loud enough for some of the other groups to glance over and see what was happening. Amy felt her muzzle heat up as she gave in to silently following Rouge.
-
After the events in the hangar, Amy was a bit more embarrassed by her flight suit.
It was the inverse of Shadow’s, red with black piping. It hugged her carefully, but now that she could feel the material she could tell it was made to be protective and easy to fight in. She pulled on the black boots Blaze had issued and tugged at the neckline of the suit. Her face had cooled considerably, but her mind lingered on the embarrassment from what Rouge had said.
She hadn’t really fully considered it before that moment, but Shadow was attractive. He had a more angular shape to him, one that might seem dangerous at first- but in reality she’d come to find it to be a protective one. Like he had honed himself and his skills to protect what he cared about. His stare was always intense, and he always stood like he knew exactly what he was doing at any given moment. He was a rock, a safe place, a guardian, a protector. Shadow was all those things, and moreover, he was attractive both inside and out. Fine, she could give him that. But that wasn’t the sort of thing she would act on. The idea of it sent a swarm of nauseating butterflies to her stomach. She was quite sure that he saw her as a little, untrained nuisance. She was sure she’d brought him more trouble than she was worth. What was more than that, when she looked in the mirror Amy saw a little girl. She saw a flight suit that didn’t fit right. She saw her petite stature next to Rouge and thought about how girlish she looked in comparison. She wasn’t the right fit for anyone, let alone him. She was-
Wait.
Amy stopped and stared in the mirror a little harder. She’d never thought like that before- at least not that intensely. She ran her hands along her sides and rested them at her hips, leaning on one foot to jut one hip out. She looked fine. She looked like her. The sudden wash of anxiety faded, though didn’t disappear, and she breathed deeply. Nothing like that was ever worth that much stress, right now least of all. What she needed to do now was get through this mission, she needed to focus on that. Not whatever all of this ‘was she good enough’ and ‘finding Shadow attractive’ bullshit was. Seriously, not the time.
“Look at us!” Rouge exclaimed, rounding a corner from behind her to stand in the mirror next to Amy.
Her flight suit was a light pink with white piping, and she posed next to Amy.
“Pink looks nice on you.” Amy commented.
“Thank you.” Rouge smiled down at her.
The two girls stared at each other in the mirror for a moment before Amy finally turned to Rouge.
“We should probably go and do what we’re actually here to do.”
Rouge laughed,
“Let's go.”

What I furthermore find annoying about the current shipping mentality is that characters are not even allowed to stand near each other's vicinity without it immediately being taken as them being shipped and thus the ship being Totally Canon. God forbid they talk. Even more if they do anything the franchise is known for, like shaking/holding hands, bridal carries, stuff like that. Even more if it is a queer ship but again, it's Tumblr, so. Like, I fully understand that seeing your two favourite characters interact is amazing if you ship them!! But I personally always keep in mind that Sega will never let anything be truly canon except maybe some Sonamy here and there, so the two characters interacting in a positive way legit only means they are friends in the comic and nothing more. It'll never go anywhere ship-wise, and honestly? I greatly prefer it that way. The fandom is already tearing itself apart every other day, if one ship got actually canon with Sega's clear approval I think the carnage might just make the internet implode.
Sometimes posts cross my dash that boil down to "you should learn to stop expecting your ships to be canon, stop harassing writers to force your ships in canon, it's okay to simply ship for fun"
and i'm here like
you guys actually expect the game you play with your dolls to become official? Written by someone else?? But why???
I don't even speak from a "canon is stupid and I can do so much better" perspective, but no, I want to have my fun! (then again I mostly engage with dead/finished media so I don't have many expectations anyway...)
Incidentally it's why I don't understand the criticism against Boom Sonamy that "it was never going to become canon anyway". Yeah, I know. I didn't really care personally lmao. I never expected them to kiss or anything, I sort of... imagined that those two were dating off screen, and that was enough for me. Dunno, it's just how I see it.
Anyway, you're right. Sonic is not the kind of series that focuses on romantic love. Look, they tried with Sonelise, and we all know what the reception was. Archie was a completely different beast, and that may have shaped the mentality of some fans :P
Personally I'm like... going apeshit over two characters holding hands depends on the context and also on how popular the ship is. I doubt Sonadow fans are so starved that they'd cling onto "bedroom eyes" that are actually Sonic being the smuggest piece of shit :V hell Sonamy has plenty, plenty of canonical food to eat, you don't need to be like "holy shit Sonic carried her!!". You're also right that Sonic as a character seems to be comfortable with hand touching, so coming from him it doesn't immediately mean he has a crush or anything.
I guess my point is, shipping is supposed to be a fun pasttime. You're smacking dolls together, and it's undeniably a very entertaining game considering its wide appeal, but that's it. It's not representation, canon doesn't automatically elevate it, and you're allowed to dislike a ship for any reason but for god's sake do not judge other people for it.
#fans don't look#i wish the bold and the beautiful was famous in american pop culture because that's how i'd describe archie

Belle could hear tails chuckling on the other end. It was true, alot of Sonic had rubbed off on him over the years. But he considered it a compliment. As a kid he wanted nothing more then to be like his big brother, he struggled all his life to catch up. Only to fall behind every single time. It wasn't until he was a teenager facing down Chaos that he finally realized he didn't need to be Sonic. He could be his own hero in his own way. Those memories made him smile, and gave him even more confidence!
He wasn't that ratty little fox living on the streets anymore. He was a real Hero who'd saved the world so many times--- this was nothing next to what he'd faced in the past! His ears twitched at Belle, knowing she could do this. He had confidence in her abilities even if sometimes she doubted herself.
" Hey! no worries Belle! you got this... if you can hack the eggnet what doe these guys have on that? "
He shifted his plane between two rockets as he sped toward the Airship yet the closer he got the riskier it got.
" So this is less world domination and more a financial scheme. Think you can reverse it? I mean be a shame if these guys found there money was casually donated to Restoration... a real shame "
Taking out the ship was never the plan he just needed to get close, he wanted on board. Looked like the main hanger was filled with Goons. He knew what to do, it was risky but it was his best plan. He took a deep breath and gripped the flight stick and exhaled as he knew how dangerous this would be. He went from playful fox enjoying a game to the Hero under the mask.
" Right, Priority 1, save the chaotix... then find Jewel, then, then we can deal with the guy in charge. I doubt Eggman is going to be a real threat, if anything he might do our job for us--- Belle focus on getting those funds back if you can. I'm going board the airship... so i may go radio silent ... "
He pushed the throttle to full and rocketed his jet toward the air ship at high speeds. Twisting and turning his jet while spinning around and launching a barrage of chaffe into the air to disable and confuse the missile systems. He could hear his wing take a hit but he just kept going as he turned his jet upside down! He pushed a lever to cause the cockpit to slide back as he passed over the airship. He flicked the auto pilot on and unbuckled his seat belt and dropped out of the jet.
He flipped around spinning his tails and tried hard to slow himself down as he hit the top of the airship. He rolled and tucked in and landed flat on his face with his head spinning. A second later he heard the explosion of his new tornado and glanced off in the distance. He was officially pissed as that was his baby! but sacrificed had to be made---he hoped Belle wouldn't assume the worst... but he couldn't risk using coms now.
================================================
An entire half a world away the pink hedgehog had finally caught up to Blaze! her Tarot could find anyone, and blaze was no exception as she rushed down the street waving her hands at Blaze! The pink hedgie had this wide brimmed smile on her face as she jumped up and down flagging her down! She knew she was on vacation, of a sort and didn't want to interrupt it but really needed to talk to her. Of all those who might help her, Blaze was maybe the one person who could!
" Blaze!! Hey! found you at last! haha! you sure are a hard person to find! Sorry to interrupt your vacation! i just wanted to ask you something... "
She paused as her phone gave a buzz and she sighed and slumped as it was the worst time for someone to call her! She opted to ignore it just for now she'd check it soon! She promised BUT first she had to talk to her friend! because well they never did get a girls day out let alone a chance to talk in peace times!
"I'm starting to think Sonic's impulsiveness is starting to rub off on you Tails." Belle knew she couldn't talk Tails out of it by this point, though wouldn't stop her from saying something. The tinkerer would still keep most of her focus on hacking into the airships servers. "Security was one of the few things I asked them not to give me, though I'll see what I can do." It'd be dangerous if Eggman got a hold of someone who could open access security and turn it off.
That said, checking The Restoration system was far easier as some things were tied to the airships. "Oh, gears and starters. Someone as taken all the funding and donations. If we can't get it back The Restoration will go under meaning we'll have to start from scratch." Not to mention all the current rebuilding projects they currently had would come to a grinding halt due to this.
"Oh, I just got into the security cameras," Belle said, starting to look through the footage only to see that Eggman and Metal Sonic were on the airship now. Along with some wearing a cloak with the hood up and a mask. "Bad news, you'll have Eggman and Metal Sonic to deal with, though it looks like Jewel is safe." The tinkerer continued to look through the footage to see if she could find anything else of importance.
"The Chaotix are captured too?! Just what happened on that airship?! Tails, whatever you do, DON'T try to take out the engine. It'd put The Chaotix at risk of getting blow to bits!" Belle would have to try and hack faster to turn off those weapons or at the very least temporary disable them long enough for Tails to land on the airship. This day was getting extremely chaotic fast.

ships: (I'm unoriginal) SONAZE !
Whoo okay, I know I said two cents but I'm gonna give you a dollar. Only because this ship makes 100% cents (I'm sorry lmao)
Abcense is to love what wind is to fire, it extinguishes the small and kindles the great
Sonic, in almost every sense, makes Blaze burn Brighter. Whether it is wind fueling the flames, or the beauty of Sonic (and his friends) helping her control the emeralds and become Burning Blaze.
After her first transformation, I always imagine Blaze looking at herself in awe, with Sonic gazing at her and reminiscing about the first time he transformed. I'm in love with their kinship.
Sonic has done nothing but raise her up, teaching her to trust. No matter how many times she fought back, he was still there with a smile, wanting to help.
Even when they actually fought, I like to think that Sonic only fought back in the same way that he fought Chaos. He opened her heart.
Unwanted Contact
Blaze, being a person of solitude, strikes me as a person that doesn't care much for touch. She'll happily give a hand shake as thanks or a hug just for Cream and Marine, but she keeps to herself mainly.

Now she is almost always seen holding hands with sonic and I'm all for it. It's affirmation of the trust they share.

With all their hand holding and trust, it makes this panel more impactful for me. I don't think she would lean in that close to anybody, but it just shows how comfortable she is with Sonic. (Also look at that lil blush!)

This final scene in Sonic Rush lives rent free in my head. The fact that Sonic clings on with his other hand shocks me. He knows what's at stake if they don't seperate, and yet he still holds on. Sonic doesn't wear his emotions on his sleeve, but he definitely shows it through his actions. He doesn't want her to leave.
The Tragedy

Ah yes, the nitty gritty, the stuff that makes it canon for me.
The two are different sides of the same coin. Guardians with amazing abilities who kick ass and take names. The difference? Sonic is free, he's not duty bound. Blaze doesn't live a bad life, but I'd bet it's not the one she wants. There's an envy she has for the blue dude.
Blaze sees her pyrokenesis as a curse, Sonic sees his as a gift, something that grants him freedom. Sonic lives life to his fullest, while Blaze has a whole ass kingdom to run.
I wholeheartedly believe that there's feelings for each other in canon, but what makes it work is the wall between them. They can't stay together, it wouldn't work for multie reasons. Blaze can't abandon her kingdom, Sonic wouldn't want to rule, and oh yeah, the likelihood of dimensional demolition.
Sonic isn't a character who should be in a relationship, it's not his style. If he were in a relationship, it would have to be with someone who allows him his freedom, and could keep up with him. In fact, it's why I ship Sonadow (ooh just wait until I start talking about that).
Shadow and Blaze are people who would keep up with him and keep to themselves at the same time. However, as I said, the wall between Sonic and Blaze is what makes the feelings real for me. It keeps the characters in their lines without changing things.

I Want You - A Din Djarin Story
Author’s Note: Hey there, internet friends. So I had an ask from my friend @hdlynnslibrary that I can’ find to save my life. Luckily, I wrote it down! “Hi Kat! My darling! I must admit to feeling #horny okay? Soooo what about a prompt for my fav space man Din? Like maybe with an #inexperienced reader?” Oh Heather, my love, ask and you shall receive! What started out as a little somethin became 14 pages, double spaced, 12 point Times New Roman font. So my darling, I hope you enjoy this Din x reader fic, it was made with LOTS of love <3
Warnings: SMUT, there is definately sexy times going on over here, all aboard the horny train, leaving the station as we speak. Choo-fuckin-choo! Also, language because I am me and since I was born and raised in Boston and I have been swearing like a goddamn sailor since, well, ever lol. Oh, and there’s a slight breeding kink, just an FYI. I’m sorry, it just all came out and I couldn’t help it and Din Djarin wants his clan to expand, okay?
Thank you to all who read, like, comment, reblog, etc. It warms my heart that you all are enjoying my work. Please let me know what you think of this one :-)
You had been traveling with Din on the Razor Crest for the past year or so. He found you on Arvala-7, working alongside Kuiil. You were good with your hands, fast with a blaster, and most importantly, you connected with the Child. From the second that kid saw you, he decided that you were his. He was the largest reason that you were here right now. How anyone could resist those big eyes, his floppy ears, and that cute baby smile. He turned your heart to putty.
Your days were spent mostly on the Crest, keeping an eye on the little one and tending to the ship the best you could. The baby required a fair bit of effort, but you didn’t mind; he had become like your own child without you even realizing it.
Somewhere along the way, you had become closer with the Mandalorian that you traveled with. Clipped sentences became more extended conversations as you gently urged him out of his shell. Soon, he became curious about you, asking all sorts of unimportant questions, ranging from where you grew up to what your favorite color was. Dinners alone with the kid turned into Mando joining you, lifting his helmet ever so slightly so that he could take a sip of the broth you made or a bite of the ration pack you heated up. Every time he did this, you made sure to keep your eyes on your plate, never wanting to disrespect his Creed in any way.
As the months progressed, your feelings for one stoic Mandalorian grew. You caught yourself lingering in the cockpit more when after you put the little one down at night. You also caught yourself staring on more than one occasion, and you knew for a fact that Mando saw you, too. How could you not stare at that imposing figure that you shared a home with? The duality of the man was awe-inspiring, to be sure. He was a fearsome warrior, and you had witnessed his prowess first hand many a time. He brought bounties in nonstop, always jetting off to the next one before the last quarry had been frozen away in carbonite for a day. And then there was the gentleness that he had with the baby. You could tell that this was his first time taking care of another person by himself. Sometimes he was a bit rough around the edges, but he did try his best. He was learning how to be the best parent he could for the kid, and watching that play out warmed your heart.
Often times, when he took the kid up to the cockpit so that you could use the refresher and wash the day away, you could hear him up there talking to the kid gently. Sometimes he speaks in Basic; other times, he speaks in what you assume is Mando’a. Every once in a while, you hear him sing the baby a lullaby on those restless nights where nothing seems to calm that sweet baby down. The first time you heard him sing softly to the kid, you knew that you loved him.
You never felt right acting on your feelings; you didn’t know how he thought about you. Also, you were terrified of making a fool of yourself. Truth be told, you have never been in a man’s bed before. The life of a refugee of the Empire didn’t leave much time for amorous encounters. By the time you found Kuiil, all you wanted was to keep your head down and do your work. If you happened to meet someone along the way, fantastic, but you had more pressing matters to attend to, like surviving in the desert.
That all changed one night when you least expected it. Mando had taken the kid to soothe him and put him to sleep, so you took the opportunity to use the fresher. You had been working hard that day, repairing areas of the Crest that needed maintenance while juggling an inquisitive little one. You took your time, relishing the way that the water felt against your bare skin, the warmth seeping into your muscles and soothing your bones. You wouldn’t tell anyone, but you viewed water as a gift from the Maker itself. For the first time in your life, you didn’t have to scrounge and save every last drop. You’d never had the luxury of using actual water the bathe daily; you’d never been in the financial position to have such a thing. For the Galaxy working class, a sonic was the best you could hope for most of the time. It cleansed the body of dirt and grime just fine, but it wasn’t pleasant like water was.
In all honesty, your idea of a luxuriously long shower was well under ten minutes, but it was a dream come true for you. After you were clean and smelling of the fresh soap that you used, it was time for you to get out. You grabbed the small towel, drying your body, and then reached for your clothes. Your hands floundered around a bit until you realized that you had inadvertently forgotten to bring a new pair of clothes or your sleep shirt in with you. You had been in too much of a rush to hand off the baby and get just a few moments to yourself.
You groaned at your flightiness. Kriff, that only left you with two options: you could either put your dirty clothes back on, or you could try to make your way back to your sleeping quarters wrapped in this tiny ass towel. Neither option particularly appealed to you, but your desire for cleanliness finally won out.
You gathered up your belongings and quietly opened the refresher door, careful not to be too loud. It usually took a bit of time to calm the baby down enough for him to go to sleep, and you didn’t want to interrupt that process. The lights in the hold were dimmed, leaving you with the ability only to see a few steps in front of you.
Unfortunately, your quest to be stealthy was in vain. You had forgotten that you had moved a particular toolbox during your work project this morning. Said toolbox ended up being placed right where you could smack your little toe on it. You yelped in pain, dropping everything in your arms in favor of hopping up and down on one foot and clutching the other in your hands. This caused the towel to also fall to the ground, leaving you bare. A noise drew your attention up, and your eyes met a helmet, staring right back. Mando was standing right in front of you, apparently drawn by the noise.
You dropped your foot, standing up straight, eyes wide in shock. You didn’t move; you barely breathed. Your mind was short-circuiting, and you didn’t even have the sense to pick up your towel off the ground. Your body was overflowing with embarrassment, horror, and- was that arousal? Stars, you were standing here, completely bare, across from the Mandalorian who has every inch of himself covered.
Ever so slowly, he reached down and grabbed the towel you had dropped, carefully wrapping it back around you. His hand accidentally brushed your breast, causing you to suck in a breath of surprise. He murmured his apologies, beginning to withdraw his hands, but you were faster. You reached out, stilling his retreating hands and placing them back on your body. You wanted this, you wanted him, and you wanted to make sure that he knew it.
He tilted his helmet curiously, waiting for you to give him a prompt. He took in your labored breathing, your increased heart rate, the way you bit your lip. Your eyes met his visor, and he could barely even see your eye color because your pupils were so blown with lust and desire. He groaned a deep, low sound in his chest at your obvious reaction to his presence.
“What do you want, sweet girl?” he ground out, trying to keep himself in check.
You moved your hands, gently cradling his helmet where his cheeks would be, breathing in his scent swirling so close to you. You could smell the blaster residue, the leather, the metal of his beskar, the soap you both used in the shower, and that smell that was uniquely his. You’d never get tired of it, not in this life or the next.
“I want you,” was your reply. “Touch me, Mando, please.”
“Din,” came his reply, almost in a whisper, as if it was something sacred.
You frowned, your nose scrunched up in confusion. You studied this helmet, eyes searching for answers.
“My name, it’s Din. Din Djarin.”
Your mouth dropped open in shock, eyes wide with confusion. You knew the sacredness of a name in this Galaxy. Stars, you hadn’t even told him your own name for a solid three months. The only reason he had found out was because he overheard you talking to the kid one day. A name was even more sacred to a Mandalorian. It was precious, something to be guarded with the utmost care. You’d never even wagered that he’d give it to you, ever.
“You can use it, but with just me and the kid around. No one else gets to know it, no one but you.”
You nodded, understanding just how much it had taken for him to tell you. His name was a gift, something that you would keep close and cherish.
“Din,” you spoke the Mandalorian’s name for the first time, testing it on your tongue, relishing the taste of it in your mouth. It was a good name, a solid name, a name fitting for the warrior before you. “Din Djarin, a beautiful name.”
Hearing his name in your mouth set Din’s soul on fire. The way you spoke it, the way you had considered it and acknowledged the importance of what he had just given you, it made him want to hear it again and again. He wanted to listen to you moan his name in ecstasy, begging him for more, begging him for pleasure. He wanted to hear you yell it, mutter it, say it in everyday conversation. He wanted to hear his name drip from your lips for the rest of his life.
That night was the first time he took you and gave you pleasure. You had come on his tongue and fingers three times before you were strung out and exhausted. You fell asleep in his bunk wrapped tightly in his arms. That was two months ago.
You still had yet to take him fully, to allow him to be inside of you. You had admitted that you were nervous, that you had no experience to work off of. Din had been nothing but patient and kind, never pressuring you into anything that you weren’t comfortable with. He had told you that, “We have all the time in the world, sweet girl. There’s no need to rush.” You believed him wholeheartedly, but in the past weeks, you had found yourself wanting more. Sure, you were still frightened, you didn’t know what you were doing, but that burn and ache inside of you kept getting more intense as the days went by. You know that Din would take care of you.
It’s been a rough day, and that’s an understatement. You helped with the bounty this time because the information you were given indicated that this quarry was heavily guarded. Mando couldn’t say no to an extra blaster covering his ass. Thankfully, this mission was on Tatooine, meaning that you could leave the little one with Peli. Maker knows that woman loves your little green bean; how could she not? Green bean loves her right back and seems to be particularly fond of the pit droids. You think it has something to do with the fact that he can bonk their noses to make them spring to life, but you can’t be sure.
Unfortunately, it turns out that this asshole was much more protected than you had been led to believe. You would have some choice words for Greef Karga to pass along to whoever had commissioned this kriffing bounty. You both had more or less emerged unscathed, but there would most certainly be bruises covering you two from head to toe.
Once the bounty was frozen away in carbonite, you could breathe a little better. He wouldn’t be giving you any trouble now. When Peli saw that state you were in, she insisted that she keep the little one for the night, which was a relief. As much as you loved that sweet little boy, you needed a breather. Hopefully, you’d be able to spend some much needed time with just you and your Mandalorian.
You found yourself on Din’s lap with a blindfold covering your eyes so he could kiss you. You would rather not see anything at all and have his lips on yours than have your sight with his helmet on. You both were in your underclothes, your legs straddling him.
That’s when the kisses began. There was something about kissing Din Djarin that was otherworldly. The way he poured all his love and care into a kiss never ceases to blow you away. He always started so gently, building you up and setting you on fire. How could anything be that good, that pleasurable? He licked into your mouth, moaning at your taste. Your Mandalorian loved to kiss you. He nipped at your bottom lip, causing you to gasp, pleasure shooting straight down to your core.
He moved his kisses to your jaw and down the column of your neck, leaving bruising in his wake. Din whispered in your ear, telling you how beautiful you were, how good you tasted, how you were just for him. The thought that you were his, that this fearsome warrior had opened himself up enough to let you in, it urged you forward.
You began to rock back and forth on his thigh, chasing that feeling of bliss. He stopped you for a moment, helping you wiggle out of your panties, before urging you to start once more. This felt even better, your slick dripping out onto his thigh, helping you create beautiful friction. By the sounds he was making, Din was enjoying it, too. The feeling of his muscles hard beneath you, your clit rubbing deliciously against him, was heavenly. You could feel the sparks in your tummy, the clench of your cunt around nothing; you were so close.
Din urged you on, his hands at your hips, moving you. He muttered about how gorgeous you were as you took your pleasure on his thigh, how he wanted to see you cum on him, how he wanted to taste your sweet pussy after you came. His words were what finally did you in, the dam bursting and your orgasm hitting you full force. Your hips began to stutter, but your Mandalorian kept you moving, riding the waves of pleasure, extending your bliss. Finally, your whines led him to stop; you were far too sensitive to continue. You panted, trying to catch your breath.
As you sat there, your head on Din’s shoulder, centering yourself once more, you realized what exactly was pressing against your thigh. You could feel his rock hard, dripping cock, just within reach. The thought of it made your pussy clench and your mouth water. You wanted Din Djarin, all of him, in every way possible. You wanted to feel him inside of you, wrecking you and making you see stars.
“Din,” you murmured, “I want you.”
He nuzzled his nose into your hair, breathing you in. “You have me, Mesh’la, any way you want me.”
You sat up straight on his lap, facing him. If you didn’t have a blindfold on, you’re sure you’d be looking him directly in the eye. “No, I want you. I want you inside of me; I want your cock, Din.”
Your Mandalorian groaned at your admission. There was nothing he wanted more. He took in the earnest expression on your face, looking for any sign of hesitance or anxiety. He never wanted you to feel pressured into doing anything that you didn’t want to do. He didn’t want you to feel as if you needed to do something to please him. He wanted you to explore sex at your own pace, never another’s.
“Cyare, are you sure? There is no rush for us. My satisfaction comes from the fact that I can satisfy you and that you trust me enough to allow me to be the first to touch you in this way. There is no timetable besides your wants, needs, and desires, mesh’la. I don’t want you to pressure yourself.”
You smiled at his words, his voice so soft and sweet for you. He was always so considerate, never rushing you or telling you that you were going too slowly. The kindness and care this great warrior continuously showed you reminded you of this complicated man’s duality. You felt safe with him, and you wanted all of him.
“Din, baby, no, I don’t feel pressured. I’ve been thinking about it for weeks now. I want to feel you inside of me; I want you to make love to me, please.”
He cradled your face in his palms for a moment, his thumbs gliding over your cheeks. Then, he kissed you. It wasn’t a gentle kiss; it was full of passion, sinking you deeper into arousal. He kissed you like you were the only thing in the world that he loved, and maybe he did. Perhaps you and the kid were his whole heart. His tongue expertly explored your mouth, causing you to mewl and moan. He knew just what would get you going.
He pulled away, sucking in precious oxygen as you did the same. Carefully, he turned the both of you around and laid you down on his cot. It wasn’t the most comfortable thing in the galaxy, not by a long shot. It was designed more for efficiency than comfort. The thing was, though, you didn’t care. It was Din’s, and he was willing to share it with you. You could feel him hovering over you, his breath warm against your face.
“Let me taste you, sweet girl. Let me get you ready to take my cock.”
You gasped, feeling his cock rock back and forth, covering himself in your slick. You were at a loss for words, so many sensations happening all at once. All you could manage was a nod, and a whimpered, “Please, Din.”
Your Mandalorian kissed his way down your body, leaving behind bite marks and bruises where he wanted to cause heightened sensations. Before he even made it to your pussy, you were already painfully wet for him. You could feel his breath ghosting over the place where you wanted him the most. You lifted your hips in an attempt to spur him on, but all it got you was a muscular arm forcing your hips back down to the cot.
“Patience, cyar’ika, I want you to feel every ounce of pleasure that I can wring out of you. Enjoy the moment, feel the suspense, don’t simply rush to the finish line, little one.”
You yelped as you felt him bite into the juncture of your hip and thigh, sucking in hard to leave a mark. He soothed the skin with his tongue, so close to where you needed him, but not close enough. He repeated the process on the other side, marking you in a place only the two of you would ever see, like a secret that you both would share.
Unexpectedly, his tongue licked a broad stripe from the bottom of your slit to your clit. You sighed; that was the feeling you so desperately wanted. He lapped at your cunt like a man starved, and you were the best thing on the menu. He knew how to work you into a frenzy, and quickly, he played your body like an instrument that he had been practicing on for a lifetime. You quaked and shook as your second orgasm of the night took hold, bursting and pulling you ever forward into the bliss you so desperately craved.
Even after you had ridden out your orgasm, Din didn’t stop. He worked you over, inserting one finger and then another inside of you, hitting that one spot inside you that made you see stars over and over. His mouth never stopped, his tongue lazily drawing loose circles around your clit, never slowing down, but keeping a steady pace. Your hips fought to lift off the cot, simultaneously fighting and chasing that feeling of ecstasy. When he scissored his fingers inside of you and twisted his wrist just so, you lost it once more. A scream that sounded something like his name tore out of your throat as the stars exploded behind your eyes.
You felt like you were floating in space, freely and without a care in the world. You reached a new height of pleasure that you’d never even imagined before. You could touch the sky and would never ever come down. You thought every encounter with your Mandalorian was pure rapture, but this was beyond anything you had ever felt before. You were panting, gasping for the oxygen your body so desperately needed, and you felt better than you ever had before. As your head left the clouds, you realized you had a dopey smile on your face, and your lover was covering you with kisses everywhere he could reach.
Vaguely, you heard his whispers in the dark. You were so good for me, mesh’la. You looked so beautiful cumming on my fingers and tongue. You taste divine, starshine. Those words went straight to your heart and to your pussy, flooding you with more arousal than you had ever thought possible. A deep kiss on your lips finally brought you back to the present, the warm body on top of you centering your mind.
“Are you ready for my cock, sweet girl? Do you still want to feel me inside of you? I promise I’ll go slow.”
You nodded in response, your words failing you.
“I need to hear you say it, cyare. I need to hear you tell me that you want this, that you’re sure.”
Your head lolled a bit as you processed his words, still feeling slightly hazy.
“Din Djarin, I want you inside of me. Please, please, I want you more than I’ve ever wanted anything before.”
He chuckled at your pleas, a smile pressed into the crook of your neck.
“I’ll be most delighted to give you what you want, sweet girl. Whatever you want, it’s yours. Are you ready for me?”
You breathed out a yes as you felt him coat himself in your slick, making sure he could ease into you. You knew he was quite large. You had curiously wondered aloud one day if all men were built like that. Even though his size intimidated you, you wanted everything he could give you. The excitement fizzled in your belly; you were getting wetter by the second.
Ever so slowly, your Mandalorian lined himself up with you and began to press in. You gasped at the feeling of just the head of his cock inside of you, the blunt tip spearing into you. He paused before he began to move again. Slowly, inch by inch, he pressed himself into you, stopping ever so often to make sure that you had time to adjust to him. It didn’t hurt nearly as much as the girls in your hometown had made it seem. Maybe they hadn’t been with the proper lovers, or perhaps the boys they were sleeping with were just inexperienced and too young. All you knew was that there was a pinch of pain, yes, but the pleasure outweighed any discomfort you may have felt.
You could feel every delicious inch of him inside you, splitting you open and filling you up like nothing ever had before. You could feel every ridge and vein as he inched his way into you. You couldn’t even put a name to this feeling, but you wanted more. Eventually, he was fully seated inside of you; your hips flush against his own. You felt so full, stuffed to the brim, and Maker, you loved it. He waited for a minute or two, allowing you to adjust to him and have a chance to take in all these new sensations. You had thought his fingers were terrific, but they were nothing compared to the feel of his cock deep inside of you.
He kissed you. It was all teeth, tongue, and lips, and stars; it was perfect. He devoured your mouth, taking what was his. You couldn’t help the little sounds that sprung up from your throat when he did that. He answered you with guttural groans of his own. You could feel the way those sounds made his chest rumble; you could feel it in your chest pressed against him.
He grabbed your leg, propping it up on his hip, and he began to move. He never went too fast for you or too hard, keeping a steady pace that kept you comfortable but still dragged you forward to a fourth orgasm. You didn’t even know you had it in you until Din used two of his fingers to assault your clit, encouraging that bundle of nerves to give you one more burst of pleasure. The combination of his cock deep inside you and his fingers on your clit was enough to send you toppling over the edge once more. This orgasm was more intense than the others, blazing white-hot through your veins and setting your soul on fire. If you thought you had been screaming before, you were mistaken. You writhed and squirmed under your lover, your pleasure causing your body to shake like a leaf. You sobbed his name over and over, tears spilling out of your eyes from sheer ecstasy.
Your Mandalorian groaned deeply at the feel of your pussy clamping down on him like a vice. You were so tight, to begin with, and your orgasm grabbed him and shoved him into his orgasm. As he emptied himself deep within you, he couldn’t help but mumble praises. “Oh Mesh’la, you’re so tight for me, so beautiful laid bare just for me. You’re such a good girl, a sweet girl, my girl. I’ll give you whatever you want, baby. Adventure, new experiences, my love- fuck if you want it, I’ll give you warriors, children of our own.”
You both laid there for a while afterward, basking in the glow of post-sex haze. You carded your fingers through his curls, gently scratching his scalp as he pressed sweet kisses into your skin. He was still inside you; neither of you could bear the thought of being parted just yet. You could stay like this forever, caught in this in-between time, not yet floating back into reality.
“I would like that,” you murmured, never stopping your movements in his hair.
“Like what, cyare?”
“For you to give me warriors of our own, Din.”
You could feel him twitch inside you, clearly interested. His head shot up, studying yours closely, looking for any falsehood or hesitance in your blindfolded face.
“You mean it?” He breathed out.
You grinned, feeling around for his face. You traced his sharp jawline, the proud cure of his nose, the pout of his plump lips. This was the face of the man you loved, the man you wanted to spend the rest of your life with. Wherever he was in the Galaxy, that was home.
“Yes, my love, I mean it. We have our little green bean, and eventually, he’s going to need some friends to play with. We wouldn’t want him to be lonely. And besides, there’s no one I’d rather raise warriors with than you.”
You heard a faint sniffle before his lips were on yours once more. You had a family, but there was always room to add more to this clan of three.
Please let me know if you want to be added/removed from the tags list xo

Did you ever go to daycare as a kid? I was in some kind of full-time childcare from three months - a childminder until I was about 2-3 years old, then nursery, then pre-school.
Who’s one of the most talented people you know? What are they talented at? My aunt is an amazing cook - she’s one of those people who can chuck anything together and it tastes incredible lol.
How long have you had your current mattress? Far too long lol. It’s getting uncomfortable but we can’t really justify a new one at the moment. Maybe next year.
Do you usually pay with cash, debit card, or credit card? Debit card.
What do you usually drink with breakfast? Coffee and either orange or apple juice.
What’s your sexuality? Bisexual.
What’s your gender identity? Female.
Are you the type of person who can make friends with just about anyone? Ha, nope. I’ve always struggled to make friends as I’m just rubbish at small talk and I generally much prefer my own company.
Have you ever experienced a medical emergency? Not for me, but I’ve dealt with them for other people.
What was the last thing you borrowed from someone? Some tape.
What’s your least favorite time of day? Early evening. I just feel like it’s this weird dead time.
Are you muscular? Not really.
Do you know anyone who’s snobby about the kind of music they like? A few people - ugh. It’s such a crap trait.
Do you ever happen to find yourself trying to force yourself to be happy? I’ve been there before, sure.
What are some things you like about the area you live in? We live by the sea and we have so many beaches and great places to explore.
When was the last time you drank wine? New Years Eve.
Do you know anyone who has been to prison? Not so far as I know.
Do you have one of those removable hand-held shower heads? We do indeed.
How many burners does your stove have? Four.
When you go to a restaurant, do you prefer to sit at a booth or a table? Booths - they’re more private and generally have more space too.
What’s the first video game you remember playing? Sonic or Pokêmon.
Have you ever been to San Francisco? Nope but I’ve always wanted to visit! It looks absolutely beautiful.
Did the high school you went to offer an ecology class? Nope.
Which room of your house is currently in the greatest need of cleaning? Probably the spare room - not so much cleaning but more re-organising, but it’s all Mike’s stuff in there and I’m not getting involved lol.
What’s something you think everyone should do/experience at least once in their life? Travel.
When was the last time you shipped a package? Just before Christmas, and it only arrived two days ago lol.
Have you ever made a homemade pie? Nope.
How long does it take you to get to work/school? It depends. I’m a pet-sitter so my closest client is five doors away, the furthest away is a horse I care for - he’s about a 15 minute drive.
Has your car ever been broken into? Not mine, but my parents’ was when I was growing up.
How old is your oldest cousin? Uhh, no idea. I’d guess late thirties?
What are you going to do now that this survey is over? Maybe another survey.

If you have anything in mind for one of our many Tenth Doctor ships? Missing my favourite alien and his men. Too sleepy to come up with a prompt, but I believe in you!
I love the fact that Ten has an entourage of men on this blog.
Let's go with Arthur because I saw a picture of him on twitter just a few minutes ago and I love that android so much.
On with the fic!
--
"Hold up, hold up, I think I found the problem." The Doctor stated, looking into the open system of Arthur's back.
"Any chance you can fix it?" Arthur asked, his voice sounded echo-like, making him worried that there might be a loose part in his speaker as well. Or even just a damaged voice box, that would be bad, he loved his voice, it worked perfectly with his face.
"I think so." The Doctor said, putting the sonic between their teeth, focusing the headlamp they wore to shine light into the inner parts of Arthur's backside.
A trip to another planet had ended up with some rather... explosive mishaps, to put it lightly, resulting in Arthur taking a blast to his back, and the Doctor being knocked around and down an incline.
The Time Lord was currently a bit banged up, but healing, even if they were still covered in a number of bruises and plasters of a variety of bright, neon colors all over their hands and a few on their face and arms. Arthur's back, however, needed some repairs, it was a big... crooked, and his left arm was disconnected from the inside.
And it seems there might be damage to the way he spoke, but other than that, it wasn't too bad. It's not like he needed to be replaced, which was terrifying in and of itself. Yes, he could have his mind and personality, along with all his other necessities and files, implanted into a new body, but he liked this one. He didn't want to change it.
Also, the Doctor really liked this face, what if they couldn't find another one?
"Yehf." The Doctor nodded, removing the sonic from their mouth. "Yep, found the problem, some disks in your spine system are dislocated, and your arm, it seems had a few screws pop out. Easy enough repairs to do, though I might have you awake through the process, just to make sure everything is connecting."
Arthur nodded. "And the voice box? Or speaker?"
"Oh, that's easy enough to check, but I'd have to do it from your front panels, and right now your back is a little bit more important."
"Understandable." Arthur sighed, resting his head on his good arm, looking at the Doctor who moved to grab some parts from a system of drawers in a wall. They were in a repair lab somewhere in the TARDIS, he had to wonder if she made the room just for this occasion, or if it was one of many that she just had on hand. The TARDIS would never give him straight answers to these questions.
The Doctor looked over their shoulder at him, smiling. "Don't worry, Arthur, I'll have you fixed up! Right as rain! Movin' and groovin', all that jazz!"
"If you say so." Arthur replied. "I do trust you with the repairs, I know you will do well in putting things back in place."
"You have a lot of trust in me then." They laughed. "But no, for real, I'll do my best, I just need to see if I have the right parts."
Arthur nodded again, still watching the Doctor move about the room. He did trust them, how could he not, they were always looking out for him, doing their best to do right by him. He heard his systems act up, loudly without the artificial skin and his clothing covering them up.
He felt embarrassed at how obvious his appreciation for the Doctor could be heard, especially when they turned to look at him, a knowing grin on their face. He hid his face in his arm, oh dear.
--
I missed writing these two.
Now, I'm gonna go get some lunch.

Her Name
By ShadAmy Writer
“All this for what? Nothing!” Rouge shouted, as she approached her ebony teammate. “I might as well go look for that Master Emerald, since that irritating echidna is here.” She grumbled, as she began to turn and walk away.
A smirk appeared on Shadow’s face, as he crossed his arms. “Ha, something’s never change, do they?” He asked, before following behind his comrade. The events of his past were still unclear. There were large gaps in his memory, but he would get these gut feelings about those he was meeting that he could just tell were correct, whether it be for Rouge, or that blue hedgehog and his friends they had fought in the forest.
“What’re you saying?” Rouge looked over her shoulder, a grin on her face. “What else is a famous treasure hunter supposed to do?”
“I suppose you’re ri-” Their conversation was cut short by the sound of two pairs of footsteps rapidly clanging against the metal exterior of the ship. Before the two could even turn around, an azure blur ran past them, speaking to them in a familiar voice.
“Hey Shadow!” The blue hero shouted, as he sped to the opposite end of the ship.
Shadow gripped his fist tight. “That blue hedgehog.” He said to himself, as a smirk spread across his face. It’s a race he wants, huh? Shadow took a step forward, about to chase after his rival, but stopped as he felt Rouge tug on his arm. “Huh?”
“Shadow, look.” Rouge’s voice sounded uncharacteristically serious, only adding to the black hedgehog’s confusion. He soon realized that he was so excited by the possibility of a race that he didn’t think about the second set of footsteps. He turned his head, only to lock eyes with a pink hedgehog.
She stood there, almost frozen, mouth agape. As he turned towards her, she quickly moved her hand over her mouth. Her body quivered slightly, as she wrapped her free arm around her chest, seemingly attempting to stabilize herself. Shadow definitely recognized her, but like many others he was meeting for the first time again, he was having trouble placing a name. He felt something, but he couldn’t tell what that was either. All Shadow knew for certain was that it felt warm.
“S-Shadow?” The pink hedgehog finally spoke, her voice shaking terribly. Shadow’s eyes widened as she took a step towards them. The ebony hedgehog was no good at reading people’s emotions. The nuances of social interaction not only escaped him, but usually thoroughly disinterested him. For some reason though, his mind was racing trying to read her tone of voice. Was she scared? Sad? He couldn’t be sure. Had he hurt her in the past? If so, he wished he hadn’t. She spoke up once more, drawing his full attention. “You’re… alive?” That phrase was probably the last thing he had expected to hear. A confused look was plastered over Shadow’s face, as he turned his head to look at Rouge. The bat shrugged, letting her ears droop as an awkward smile appeared on her face. She hadn’t been exactly forthcoming with details regarding his past. She had promised that Eggman would provide him all the answers he needed, though the doctor appeared to be absent. Shadow turned his attention back to the pink hedgehog, who was still shaken.
“Of course I am.” Shadow finally said. He still had no clue exactly who she was or what she felt about him, so he opted to handle this the best way he knew. Through a cocky facade. “After all,” he spoke, running his hands over his quills. “I am the Ultimate Lifeform.” It was dead quiet for a moment. After what felt like an eternity of silence, Shadow heard the pink hedgehog begin to sniffle. The sniffles grew louder, until eventually the emerald-eyed hedgehog burst into tears. Shadow swallowed hard. Well, this could’ve been handled better, he thought to himself.
Much to his surprise however, the pink hedgehog burst into a run towards him. Shadow didn’t know what to do. Should he run away? That’s what the blue one did. Was that the correct move in this situation? Why was she running towards him if he made her cry? Shadow was so lost in his own thoughts, he didn’t realize she had already reached him. He inhaled sharply as he felt her arms wrap around him in a tight embrace. He heard his teammate let out a slight giggle. He found her laughing at him a little annoying, but at least it served as some type of indicator that what was happening was okay.
“I-I t-thought we’d never see you again!” The pink hedgehog stammered through her tears. Shadow slowly began to realize what these tears were. They were relief.
“Well, uh,” Shadow put his hands on her hips and moved her slightly away from him, so he could look her in her eyes. “I’m here now.” He said again, through a sly grin. He moved his hand to her face and wiped the tears from her eye. “So, no more tears, alright?”
The pink hedgehog sniffled once more, and nodded, releasing Shadow from her embrace. “So, how did you do it? How did you survive?”
“I-”
“We came here to ask Doctor Eggman the same thing.” Rouge said, cutting Shadow off.
“Doctor Eggman? What does he have to do with it?”
“I don’t know for sure.” Rouge shrugged. “All I know for sure is sleeping beauty here was in a pod in one of Eggman’s bases.”
“Hmph,” Shadow grunted loudly, displeased at the nickname. He went to cross his arms, but quickly found his hands being held by the pink hedgehog.
“Well, I’m glad you’re back.” She smiled sweetly at him. Shadow felt a warmth grow in his cheeks. After the long fight he and his team had gone through, attempting to make it through to the Egg Fleet, it felt nice to see someone who seemed happy to see him. “Does Sonic know you’re alive?”
“He-”
“Oh, of course he does!” She interrupted. “He just said ‘hi’. Oh, I’ve gotta introduce you to Big and Cream! They’ve heard tons about you!.”
“I-”
“I’ve got to take you around Station Square after all this is over. There’s so much for you to see! I can’t imagine missing fifty years of the world.” Shadow began to realize he wasn’t going to be able to get a word in. She could talk as fast as he could run. He felt a smirk spread across his face. He normally found this type of prattling an annoyance, but this was okay.
“Darling, I’m sure Shadow would love to join you on a trip around Station Square,” Rouge interjected, “but isn’t your hero getting away?” She gestured to the far end of the ship.
“Oh my gosh, I totally forgot!” She gave Shadow a quick hug before running off. “I’m sorry to leave like this, but I can’t let my Sonic get away! We’ll talk soon, okay?” She called over her shoulder as she raced out of sight.
Shadow lifted his arm and waved good-bye. Even after she was gone, he continued to stare in the direction she went. He eventually spoke. “Rouge…”
“Yes, hon?”
“What was her name?”
Rouge let out a slight chuckle. “That was Amy. Amy Rose.”
“Amy…” Shadow repeated under his breath. “I’ll remember that.”

Rise of the Wisps Part 1
Orbot paced about the room–Metal Sonic would be here any minute now, and he was not looking forward to having his superior silently staring down at him. The fur on the back of his neck stood on end, and the armadillo put his hands together, attempting to still his quaking. Dr Eggman had originally been overseeing the project, but since the blunderbots were prone to taking too many breaks instead of remaining hard at work, he had decided to put Metal Sonic in charge of them, which was a terrifying prospect of itself. Orbot’s dear companion, Cubot, wasn’t as comforting as usual, mostly since one of the crates containing multiple Wisp containers had nailed him in the head, and promptly caused his voice chip to become discombobulated. Because of that, well, he wasn’t really speaking at all, and when he was …
“ROCKET!” Cubot boomed, throwing his hand out to catch a tumbling Wisp container that he’d clumsily dropped from his stacked pile. Orbot jumped, and proceeded sigh, shoulders slumping as he walked over to grab his own sets of containers, and bring them over to the nearby Drainer.
“Cubot, can you please be careful? Metal Sonic is on his way, and the Boss already knows we’ve been lazing about… we have to at least appear good at our jobs.” A bit of a smirk from the armadillo, and Cubot turned his head to give a thumbsup. “We really need to do something about your voice chip, pal. It’s no fun carrying a conversation by myse–”
And just then, the exit opened up, revealing Metal Sonic as he stepped into the room, red eyes piercing the dim lighting of the room. Orbot and Cubot immediately stood at attention, saluting their superior officer and looking as professional as possible… until it seemed a good amount of time to set at ease. Metal Sonic wasn’t that talkative, so it was better to try and figure out what he wanted rather than wait for him to say anything.
“Metal Sonic, Sir! What a–”
“GOOD! GREAT!! AWESOME!!!”
Orbot glared at his companion, elbowing him in the side before turning back to Metal, hands clasped together eagerly, “–Honor it is to work with an–”
“OUTSTANDING!!!!!”
Oh for the love of– “Marvel of engineering such as yourse–”
“AMAZING!!!!!!!!!”
With a kick to the back of the leg, causing Cubot to wobble and nearly lose his balance, Orbot turned to Metal once more and put a hand over the Labrador’s mouth, sighing loudly, “Pay him no mind. His voice chip has been on the fritz, you see.”
Cubot whined out a pathetic “ROCKET!” from behind Orbot’s hands, and the armadillo groaned, rubbing his temples. Okay, back to business. Metal Sonic was already ignoring the both of them, walking to the nearest capsules and examining them. Orbot was quick to remain by his side, ears lifting up. “Now, is there anything we can do to make your time with us more pleasant?”
Those piercing red eyes flashed as the blue robot barely turned to face Orbot, and the armadillo felt a chill of pure dread race down his spine. He let out a little nervous laugh, hands squeezing tightly together as he backed up, bumping into Cubot’s front, “Ah, yes, of course! Our jobs…” So much for more breaks. There’s no way Metal Sonic would allow them time to goof off, “We’ve just got to get these Wisps,” he gestures to the seemingly endless piles and crates of the critters, careful to keep his tone friendly and welcoming, “processed and shipped out across the planet.”
Dr Eggman’s stern words rang in Orbot’s mind, his ears stinging with memory from when the egg-shaped scientist had grabbed them and hoisted him up by them. “And Eggman asked very sternly that we not do it like complete…” he made quotation marks with his fingers, allowing just a bit of his restrained resentment to seep out, “bumbling imbeciles.”
Metal Sonic didn’t seem all that impressed. Actually, he didn’t seem like he had any expression at all, considering he had zero facial emotion to begin with. No mouth, only evil eyes. With the lack of feedback, Orbot bowed low, smiled nervously and gave a thumbsup, before slapping a hand to Cubot’s back and pushing him to another part of the room… To work, to work!
As the two started picking up capsules, Orbot noticed that Metal Sonic had followed them over, and he attempted to remain friendly. Both Cubot and Metal were unable to talk, which made Orbot self conscious about how much he was speaking, and then, well. It was leading him to just talking from a stream of consciousness sort of way, “but don’t you worry–Big bro!–Can I call you big bro?”
Oh no, why did he say that? Metal Sonic was going to eviscerate him. Or maybe it would endear the superior robot to Orbot and Cubot, and like his namesake, he’d want to look out for the two Robians. Protect them! … Not bloody likely. The lack of response of any kind had Orbot immediately speaking again.
“–Anyway, we aren’t bumbling at all! Are we, Cubot?” He’d turned to his companion, who despite being bigger than both of them, was struggling to carry the five or six capsules he’d decided he could totally handle, and they were bouncing around in his arms… CRASH!!!
This was clearly all the evidence Metal Sonic needed, as he immediately took both of Orbot’s capsules from him, turned, and proceeded to head towards the Drainer, with Orbot wincing and walking after him, whimpering as he tried to think of something to say. This was definitely going to get them scolded by Dr Eggman, for sure.
While the three worked, they weren’t paying attention to the secret Wisp Mission happening behind them, with Wisps being freed from their capsules left and right. It wasn’t until a Jade Wisp flew through Cubot that things started to get interesting. His body turned green and became translucent, and the capsules he’d been carrying smashed on the ground, freeing the Wisps trapped inside, much to Cubot’s absolute bewilderment. He was trying to recapture the Wisps, but they were too slippery for the big badnik.
Orbot, who’d been attempting to make sure everything would run smoother from here out, put his hands on his haunches and glared at the Labrador, “Honestly… What did I JUST say about bumbling?” Cubot wanted to whine, but nothing came out of his throat, and so his tail hung between his legs and his ears drooped lower, shoulders sagging. Just then, more Wisps began to fly around the room, escaping out the exit–Orbot and Cubot had to move fast to try to capture them all. Jumping and running to and fro, grabbing as many as they could as Metal Sonic joined in the hunt.
Things were going well, but Cubot bumbled into Orbot, and all the progress they’d made was for nothing–there go all the Wisps they’d just caught! Luckily, Metal Sonic had captured the defacto leaders of the Wisp Resistance, even as they used their abilities against him, he was much stronger than they were.
Still, quite a few Wisps had escaped, and that meant bad news for Orbot and Cubot. Their heads hung as they bowed low to Metal, who walked past them without so much as a glare. Inserting the re-captured Wisps into the Drainer, he mercilessly stole their Energy from them, transforming them into Void Wisps, purple and zombie-like husks.
It seemed that Metal Sonic would be accompanying the blunderbots across Sweet Mountain, to ensure that their jobs were done properly.

The Miys, Ch. 129
Despite the last couple weeks of work being profoundly exhausting (think 60 hours, easily), I am proud that I’ve been able to keep writing and stay ahead! I literally could not have done that without @baelpenrose, @charlylimph-blog, @the-raven-fae, and @anotherusrname. Y’all are my real-world rocks when everything gets crazy.
***Shameless Plug: @the-raven-fae has the first episode of the podcast up now! you can find it here!! ***
The other thing that has been keeping me going is each and every one of you who has found this story and binged it from start to finish as a speed-run. I can’t even name all of you at this point, but I want you all to know that I see it, and it makes me smile so hard my face hurts.
Now, who is ready for some Charly shenanigans?
A few days later, I had just enough time to sweep dinner off the table in my quarters before Charly unceremoniously dropped a long something in the midst of us with a dull thud. Immediately, a rusty red cloud rose up and set us all into a fit of tears and coughing.
Out in the hallway, I was eventually able to convince my lungs to at least try to breathe long enough to wheeze out, “Geezus, Charly, what the hell was that?”
“Soooo….” Uh oh. “ItmayneedsomecalibrationthecloudwasntsupposedtobethatbigandIdidntmeanforittogooffbut - “
I shook my head and typed a quick message on my datapad. “Please breathe because right now I don’t think the rest of us can and I would love to know why.”
She stopped rushing out what I think were words long enough to read the message and try again. “Chili powder arrows. I think I need to recalibrate them, though, because it shouldn’t have gone off at less than one hundred and twenty kilometers per hour, and there’s no way I set it down that hard.”
“Why?” I rasped, still swallowing as hard as I could and mentally begging Noah to bring us some water or a medical transport.
“Defensive measures,” she insisted. “Scent navigation is really common in the Galactic community, and so is sensitivity to capsaicin, so…”
“Makes sense,” Conor managed to get out as he tried to gasp for air. “Even Noah.”
“Bit much.” I pinched my fingers as closely as I could without touching - which was more difficult than expected considering that I was shaking.
Maverick was the first to get up off the floor of the corridor, just as the medical transport arrived. He and Charly helped us on before distributing bottles of water to rinse our mouths and eyes. “It was… a good idea…” he panted once we were all seated. “Just… bit overkill…”
“The range of the cloud is only supposed to be five feet,” she insisted fretfully. “And I swear the pressure sensor is supposed to be calibrated to only go off if it’s fired from a bow or swung really, really hard.”
“Who...want...swing?” I was honestly starting to get dizzy fighting my airways to breathe.
Once we arrived at a medbay, Charly helped a couple of Miys’ bodies get us out of the transport and lying down in berths. In a glitch-like transition, suddenly I could breathe easily and she was joined by Arthur and Coffey in sitting with us.
“Wait… when did… I’m so confused,” I admitted, my voice only slightly strained.
“Lethe field, apparently,” Arthur shrugged. “You didn’t want to be awake for that.”
Conor sat up and rubbed his sternum. “I remember chili pepper arrows - Charly, love, that was brilliant except the, you know, going off bit - and getting off the transport.”
“Respiratory lavage,” Charly winced. “You know, war crime if done incorrectly?”
I shuddered and nodded. “Yep. Didn’t want to be awake for that, thanks. Glad I can’t remember, don’t ever want to, would rather remember the pepper bomb you set off. At point blank range?”
She snuggled further down in Coffey’s lap as he gently rubbed her scalp with his fingertips. Arthur spoke in her defense, instead. “She’s sending the schematics to Zach and Derek to find out what went wrong. Tactically, they were a brilliant idea - she’s right about the large amount of species who would react even worse than you did if hit with one.”
“I only inhale spices figuratively. I would prefer not to do it literally - like, ever again.”
Maverick sat up and gave Charly a curious look. “You said they can be swung… Unless I saw something wrong, the arrow was only two feet long. Who would want to swing something like that?”
Coffey and Arthur both held up gas masks and wiggled them. “Between my arm reach and the length of one of those, I could do it, no problem.”
“We aren’t all so fortunate,” Arthur intoned drily. “Plus, that doesn’t mean someone closer isn’t getting hit.”
Conor raised his hand politely before pointing out a potential flaw. “What if they have gas masks?”
“Noah has a topical reaction,” I answered, my mind racing. “And I assume we have other measures in the works?”
“Multiple types of sonic weaponry are being tested,” Coffey intoned with a nod. “Sub- and ultrasonics, infrasound, and just loud music.”
Still in full Devil’s Advocate mode, Conor persisted. “And if they are covered, head to toe, and none of that works?”
A deafening silence filled the medbay. The prospect of being forcibly boarded had only been a known issue for a week, and apparently this prospect hadn’t been covered yet in the defensive planning.
Finally, it was Maverick who spoke up. Had anyone else been talking, we couldn’t have heard him, but in the quiet his whisper echoed like a gunshot. “The interior hull is organic, not magnetic.”
“Mav, we know that. It doesn’t help us.” Conor’s voice was confused.
Arthur, however, looked like he had just seen a travesty occur in front him, unable to stop it. “You’re talking about blowing the airlocks.”
I scrambled to sit up, clawing at the blanket that covered my legs. “What!? Maverick, he’s wrong, right? You aren’t talking about that, right?”
“It makes logical sense,” Charly added, still laying her head against Coffey’s chest. “If someone boards the Ark by force, and they have enough gear that no amount of defense we mount even bothers them, they would be wearing enough gear to survive being blown into space.”
“And they can’t magnetize to the hull,” Maverick confirmed. “Maybe the outside, but not inside.”
“What about Noah?” I demanded. “They are a non-combatant.”
“Noah evolved in vacuum,” Charly pointed out.
“You’re talking a war strategy!” I nearly shouted. “What about Arthur? Coffey? Or Ivan? Are you seriously going to tell me they won’t be the first people charging to defend the Ark?” I pointed at the previously brandished gas masks with a damning glare.
“We are talking about a last-ditch defense to save as many people on this ship as possible,” she whispered. “I don’t make the decisions, I just make the tools they are going to use. You know, you know I don’t want us to use any of this. And I plan to booby-trap everything within an inch of all our lives to keep us from having to use as much of it as possible. Hence, arrows. As many kinds as I can make up.”
I started taking deep breaths, trying to calm down. At my heart of hearts, I knew she was sincere - Charly was almost as much of a pacifist as I was, at the end of the day. Even Arthur wasn’t necessarily a warmonger, just… uninhibited in what he defined as ‘the best defense is a good offense’.
Frustrated, I swung my legs over the side of the berth. “I need to go home. I want dinner, and a nap. Probably a drink.”
Charly reached out and pushed my legs back on to the bed. “You’re under observation for another hour. Dry-drowning risk.”
I groaned and gave her a pleading look. “I’m hungry, and this isn’t my bed. It’s honestly half the reason I’m in such a bad mood. You and Arthur probably make absolute perfect sense to less-sleepy, fed Sophia, but right now, not so much.”
“Your limey assistant is bringing a change of clothes, your sister, and some food,” Arthur smirked. “So you get to stay right there, not die, and get some sleep.”
“But Mac…”
“Is at Derek and Sam’s, but very nice try,” he confessed.
“I wanna go home,” I grumbled sullenly.
Maverick nodded, and gulped down some water Charly handed him. “Did someone turn on the scrubbers in there yet?”
Conor and I turned wide eyes to him. The thought apparently never occurred to either of us. “Charly love,” Conor started hesitantly. “How much bigger was the cloud than you thought?”
“I’m not sure,” she confessed, sheepish. “It was pretty big.”
Rubbing my face briskly, I suppressed the urge to sob. “My blankets… the furniture… our clothes…”
“Else is working on it.”
I glanced at Coffey, confused. “Else is? They eat iron.”
Noah’s voice broke in from the ceiling. “Correction. When still a bacterium, Else fed on iron. However, as they have evolved, their needs have expanded to include a more diverse diet.”
“Are you telling me that there are faceless baby chickens flooding our quarters, eating the chili powder?”
“They do show a preference for foods more toxic to the general Galaxy. We estimate that this is due to their origin within human beings, who share the same marked trait.”
“At least someone is appreciating my hard work,” Charly grumbled.
I strained to suppress a smile. “I’ll make you whatever you want for dinner, for a week, to make up for being ungrateful?”
“Maybe just tell Alistair it was an accident? He gets upset when you almost die.”
“Both?”
“Both. Both is good.”

I believe you are the resident Knuxamy fan on Tumblr, so if I may ask: what do you like about it/see in them? I'm curious!🍀
Oh, I'm really not fhdjfhdsjkfhsdkj I'm basically this meme
I guess I can share these extracts from an abandoned WIP of mine, where I did try to explain what kind of chemistry they'd have?
“So… how’s Sonic? Haven’t seen him in a while.” “Oh, you know, somewhere, as he does.” “Huh?” “He decided to go on a run around the world after we cleaned up the mess of the war. I understand him, really, after six months of being held prisoner…” “You don’t sound very worried.” “Why should I?” she laughed. “He can handle himself just fine. I’ll be the first to greet him once he’s back!” “Usually you don’t really wait for him.” “Oh, you jerk!” she shoved him. “I don’t– I don’t do that anymore! I’m done with chasing him.” “Really?” he scoffed. “That’s too bad. I still remember how spooked Sonic was when we ran into you and your friends that one time. Not even Eggman can say he scares him as much!” “Yeah, yeah, I was a kid. I thought that he would just learn that he reciprocated my feelings if I insisted.” “Don’t get me wrong: he’s still my friend and I care for him very much. And I’m glad he cares about me too. He’s good, and fun to be around, and I can’t wait to go on another adventure with him!” Before Knuckles could roll his eyes, she added: “But… I don’t know. I can’t chase his shadow for the rest of my life. It made me feel like we weren’t on the same level. With all the craziness in my life, I’d like to have someone more… stable at my side. Reliable. One that I know that they will be there if I look for them, y’know?” “So you’ve finally realized that Sonic is [unreliable]? Yeah, you sure grew up.” "Jerk," she repeated with a smile. "I know he's your friend too. Don't worry, I won't tell~"
“Oh, mind if I lift you up?” “Go ahead.” *Amy hammers Knuckles upwards* “Thanks! I nearly forgot this trick of yours.” *...* “Speaking of tricks!” *pulls out the Big Hammer* “Ta-dah!” “Wait! You still have that?” “Yep!” “It’s… very heavy, haha. I rarely need it. But sometimes, you just need that extra punch!” She swung her giant hammer downward, and the hit produced a loud, satisfying thud. The wall crumbled like it was made of cardboard. *...* His own hand-made hammer - a nice green and red hammer, with a spike on top and flames coming out of it at every swing - rested easy in the Hidden Palace, among his other little treasures. Truth to be told, he didn’t really like using tools; his punches were more than enough. But it was a present from a friend, and he’d always cherish it as such.
(you didn't think I'd pass the opportunity to remind people that Advance 3 is the GOAT and Knuckles and Amy paired together are powerhouses, did you? :P)
I wanted to avoid the cliché of Amy realizing that Sonic wasn't good for her after all, but I liked the idea of her getting closer to Knuckles because he's always there, he's a stable presence, and under his gruff exterior he really is a good friend to have.
(Amy is Amy. She's sunshine incarnate. I don't need to explain why Knuckles might come to like her:P especially if Amy understands that he's more of an introvert and they spend time simply chilling side by side)
Generally speaking, the two have a few traits in common, like being stubborn and hotheaded: so unlike many of my ships, which are either "opposite attract" or "the cutest babies ever 💖", they'd be birds of a feather: they'd banter because they have both strong personalities, but they can also understand each other. I like to think their dynamic could be "I can tease you and call you a knucklehead/kid, but no one else dare do the same!"
As for what they'd do, aside from meeting on Angel Island... well, that up there is a little idea that the two might hang out together by smashing old Eggman junk hfdjsfhsdkj
#sonic the hedgehog#knuxamy#so if i also ship sonamy and have a liking for sonknux#can i just say sonknuxamy ot3? :p#but yeah i really want to write about them but i don't know what
