The only differences that truly matter are: Crochet hurts my carpal tunnel and Knitting hurts my arthritis and that's how I choose per project.

If you have no idea what fiber art to start with - as in, you aren't sure what you'll like, and don't have much of a clue - you should honestly start with a mixture of whatever piques your interest. Knitting needles and crochet hooks, at the least, are often very cheap per set brand-new, or you can look at secondhand stores if you want them cheaper (other fiber arts tools like looms may be more pricey, depending on what you want). If you can, look for classes such as a crafts class - a library might have something akin to this, some will have craft spaces with a variety of little crafters things.

There's sometimes this idea floating around that you are only permitted to do one craft at once - this isn't true. You are a multifaceted, complex person. It only makes sense, then, that your art is the same. Fiber art is an expression of one's humanity in its rawest form, no matter what you pick up. This goes for all art beyond the fiber arts, too! Art is an expression of your humanity. Let it express that 💛

Crocheting this skirt took me months fr. think about 40 hours in total. I don’t think I’m the fastest crocheter but I’m okay with that. I lfooking love it mi. She’s super pretty. I used 100% pima cotton yarn in the colour natural white. I can’t remember the thickness of the yarn but I used a 2,5mm hook. Been tryna push this on my website I made imma post the process of me making that on here at some point I worked really hard on it. I fuck with the vision im tryna create with my crochet shit it gets me really excited. Im at Parsons right now and I feel like the more I get sucked into school the more I forget about what gets me really excites which is why it took me so long to make this skirt. Gant ‘Blank Canvas Project x Kilo Kish Bouclé Varsity Jacket’ - $1,800.00 (sold out)

Rather than opt for actual Chiefs merchandise, Taylor opted for one of her go-to outerwear brands in Chiefs-approved colours that also included some stars (do u like dem?). I’ve found that on a number of occasions opting for Chiefs colours in otherwise normal street style garments has been her strategy for away games.

This particular jacket was part of a trio of designs Gant executed in collaboration with artistic talents as part of their “Blank Canvas Project” campaign. The concept being to “[transform] the quintessential symbol of American Sportswear into wearable works of art.” The artist in question, Kilo Kish, said the “inspiration behind [her] design was Ivy League culture” - an extension on the themes she explored on her album American Gurl. As with much of Gant’s ethos, the brand’s objective to create modern pieces that are not only heirloom quality but that riff on Americana athletics is such a natural integration into Taylor’s game day style. The added bonus is that each of the Blank Canvas designs had 100% of its sale proceeds go towards a charity of the artist's choosing - something I'm sure Taylor could get behind having done her own share of philanthropic donations on each of the stops on the Eras Tour.

Kilo added when designing the jacket, “When people see the jacket, I want them to feel the playfulness and I want them to feel like it’s personalized and almost homemade looking.” That homemade feeling has been a personal touch also present through Taylor’s game day fashion. Where, in a world of seemingly endless options, Taylor has shown a level of care and intention to opt for small businesses (local to KC or women-owned) or items that are handmade (Kristin Juszczyk’s jacket and Kut the Knit’s crocheted beanie as just two examples).

As for the ‘CTFL’ on the jacket - my best guess (as confirmed by the artist themselves) is the FL is a reference to Kilo’s home state of Florida and the CT to Gant's headquarters in Connecticut. Which is also paid homage to in Gant’s FW 2023 collection with varsity jackets honouring New Haven, Connecticut and its Ivy League school Yale that Kilo also wore in campaign imagery for Gant.

-When someone has a bad day, cypher watches over them over the camera to make sure they aren't doing anything bad to themself

-Yoru gives haircuts and is actually good, but he keeps yapping while using his different knives

-Gekko sings creep by radiohead in the shower when he's sad and Neon films from outside the door and jokes about it

-Omen gets too much candy due to being treated as a trick or treater

You know you into yarn when you have headcanons about what spindles characters would particularly like, what they prefer to do with the yarn, what type of wheel spinner they are, and who has 17 projects going on at once (Anakin) vs who’s gonna focus almost entirely on one project as they go through thought spindle spinning a fine yarn, plying and washing enough of it for a blanket, immediately sticking it on the loom, and weaving a particularly intricate pattern (Obi-Wan) vs who’s the ‘I add the knots of silk and locks so that I can live in the moment and let chunks come out when they need to’ (as if I even have to say it, it’s Qui-Gon)-

ANYWAYS. I actually love yarn and think that yarn craft should be more in fics but that’s sorta like how lots of chefs and bakers make a lot of foodie fics like it’s nice but. Everyone eats. Not enough people care about Scottish spindles. Obi-Wan has 7 Scottish spindles and like 8 Turkish ones so he can make a blanket’s worth of yarn in a single go without having to unwind them and ply right away. Qui-Gon likes supported spindles and a traditional wheel. Anakin designs and makes his own electric spinners, electric yarn counters, and electric cone winders. And then he knits Padme shawls. Qui-Gon crochets blankets and keeps leaving them in the creche or outside random apartments in the temple. Obi-Wan weaves. Anakin spent 5 hours learning how to dye fiber in Padme’s favorite colours, made an electric wool carder to make batts of them, spent a solid 15 hours spinning enough for a massive shawl in lace weight yarn for his wife, knit her one, and then went back to his ADHD project hopping.

Malleus was always entranced whenever his grandmother wove. There was something hypnotic about whiling the hours away with one singular goal.

With the approaching frontier of technology, advancements being made seemingly as fast as Malleus could grow new teeth, textiles in all colors and shapes had become more commonplace.

He believed that was largely a good thing. The material comforts he often took for granted deserved to be proliferated among the masses.

For the House of Draconi, however, the act of spinning would likely be buried with them.

Black Scale Castle was lined with the efforts of his ancestors. Wedding tapestries, baby blankets, ornately embroidered frocks, even sets of pillowcases.

The majority was kept in the family vaults, as it was too large a collection to keep constantly on display, but at least one piece from every reign decorated Black Scale.

He knew his mother hadn’t made much in her short time. On the advice of several of the records of previous rulers, she had stayed her hand during her and his father’s courting phase, believing she had a whole lifetime to make him and his father more.

She’d been in the middle of a large rug that would have gone in his nursery at the time of her passing. The rug, loose threads and all, had been framed and hung in there instead.

“Before long,” spoke his grandmother, hands never straying from the spindle, “but hopefully not too soon, you will begin your own work.”

She continued. “Though you will decide for yourself what method, I feel it is important for you to know every step in this process. Do you know why?”

She patted her lap. “Come. Observe me closely.”

Malleus climbed up onto her lap, happy to be surrounded by his grandmother.

my thoughts is that it's ridiculous cop brained hair splitting. please pick up a hobby, there are more fun things to do with your time than police yourself and others. There's way to do kinning wrong but that ain't it.

The words are synonyms. If someone is confused if a stranger is a singlet or system member they can ask. Whether they get an answer is up to the stranger, because they don't owe you personal info like if they're traumagenic or got some self conscious fictotypes. For examples. Just use whatever you vibe with, regardless of who you are.

Listen, knitting needles is like 5 bucks lifetime investment, a hank of yarn maybe 4-7 dollars if you got coupons or what store it is. Knit a BIG rectangle, sew up the sides, knit a long skinny 'scarf' for a handle and with a tapestry needle [2-4 dollars] sew it on. BAM. You got yourself a cute bag.

You can experiment with different knitting stitches, colors, knitting patterns, etc, to get yourself some cute bags and backpacks. Hell, I knit a bag with some duckies on it. QUACK QUACK! If you get acrylic or cotton yarn, that bag will last a damn long time.
