While kneelo paddleboarding with Peter Potamus and his twin nieces Peggy and Penny to another sojourn in the fascination that is Polynesia Uncharted
PENNY POTAMUS, sounding like an excited schoolgirl: Doesn't it just feel delightful, uncle Peter, just wearing ourselves by and large? PETER POTAMUS, getting to the practicality of it: In this sort of climate, my gal, it does ... especially when such natives as we're preparing to visit have actually enjoyed being naked and unashamed for so many years as they have been! PEGGY POTAMUS, also going into excited-schoolgirl mode: I certainly can't wait to sense the sheer excitement and thrill of diving with some native boys in my nakedness! PENNY POTAMUS: And neither can I! PETER POTAMUS, getting down to the obvious: In fact, my gals, the reason for our nakedness is to more or less blend in with local colour and folkways, not to mention avoid the risk of causing Embarrassing Offence which has been known to be but the first step towards the downfall of such otherwise proudly fascinating cultures in the name of "Civilisation," and a warped sort of "Civilisation" which uses misguided Christian "missionary" work as but the vanguard of their decimation! Hence, in tradition going back to my late father, we keep such time in such fascinating islands a secret known but to us, and a small circle of friends as well! [Just then, a pod of Pacific bottlenose dolphins leaps forth from the waters as the paddleboarding hippos approach shore, as if bidding such welcome yet again ...]

As Peter Potamus and niece Pamela are paddling out in the kneelo manner towards an adventure somewhere in Polynesia Uncharted
PAMELA POTAMUS, niece of Peter and joining his uncle this time out: I do have to admit, Uncle Peter, this kneelo paddleboarding is probably a new one on me ... especially considering the distance! PETER POTAMUS, explaining somewhat: Pam, my darling niece, you'll want to know I have the Magic Balloon at anchor just off the three-mile line from shore for good reason: These very islands are the sort as have yet to be despoiled by so-called "Civilisation," and what's more, the tactic is mainly to avoid possible embarrassment by the local peoples who are proud of not being ashamed about their bodies as much as sex! PAMELA POTAMUS: Which probably explains the nakedness we're exercising. PETER POTAMUS: How correct you are ... and with such interesting peoples, being naked and not ashamed to show it feels rather comfortable! Especially in the water! [Aside] Hopefully, I can get you an opportunity for you to try your hand at diving for pearls in the native fashion! PAMELA POTAMUS, sounding rather excited: Wouldn't that feel rather fascinating?! PETER POTAMUS: You had better believe it, my gal!

With Peter Potamus and nephew Perry II on kneelo paddleboards (wearing but themselves, know) heading to some island in Polynesia Uncharted
PETER POTAMUS, being rather careful in explaining things: Now, Perry, if I may explain the necessity of wearing essentially ourselves when we're in such parts of the Polynesian unknown like we're heading to-- PERRY POTAMUS II, himself named for Peter Potamus' father, himself an explorer intrepid though a bit eccentric: You mean "being naked." PETER POTAMUS: That is essentially whet I mean, Perry ... it's driven as much by climate, comfort and tradition as a need to avoid causing serious offence to the natives, who themselves, are rather grateful for still preferring their going naked! As a matter of fact, Perry, many missionary, explorer and trader types across much of Polynesia back in the day were put off by the nakedness of such peoples, who themselves were peeved by the excesses of clothing so worn--usually out of warped desires for conquest and subjugation! PERRY POTAMUS II: So it's more of a "when in Rome, do as the Romans do" sort of thing to go naked in such a milieu as where we're headed. PETER POTAMUS: Perry, how right you are ... and what's more, try not to get unnerved by any desires for sex which the laydeez most wonderful may have; to them, they see sex as enjoyable! Especially when it comes to destressing or just chilling out! Oh, and ere I forget, do try to show some respectful fascination towards the dolphins, who just CANNOT resist those natives in their simplicity! PERRY POTAMUS II, somewhat excitedly: Might this also mean some diving with the dolphins, Uncle Peter? PETER POTAMUS: Now THAT, Perry, is to be expected with these natives; for some reason, the dolphins cannot get enough of such fascinating peoples, especially when out diving among the reefs ... Now how about we paddle for shore? PERRY POTAMUS II, in juvenile excitability: Let's just go for it!

There's something to be said (and, perchance, in a positive way) when you've got Peter Potamus bringing along his nephews (Patrick and Perry II) on one of the uncle's journeys via The Magic Balloon into Polynesia Uncharted.
And it's mainly learning much (and in a positive way) about some fascinating primitive peoples who prefer otherwise keeping to themselves (and manage to like it as much) that have earned the respect of Peter Potamus and his late father.
Especially learning paddleboard technique involving the Australian Kneelo such in transport to and from the Magic Balloon at anchor just off the Three-Mile Line traditional, vis-a-vis the principal island of otherwise unknown kingdoms whose lifestyle of untrammelled nakedness can get to be rather fascinating in its own manner.
Not to mention brushing up on diving (naked, naturally, in a positive way) in waters where the dolphins are unusually welcoming and rather likable diving companions which can run rings around those in aquariums and dolphinariae because such friendships as these natives have are natural and come from nature.
And what could feel more comfortable unto the nephews (and in a natural sort of way) than to be naked in the native Polynesian manner, naked as Nature intended even ... and to recognise the "facts of life" as being wonderfully natural by way of native ladies who recognise such wonder as a natural given.
And to sense the wonder of a Polynesian sunset with the tide laping its way to shore, with the sheer comfort of a grass skirt in traditional dance followed, perhaps, by discovering a primitive kind of love most magical, most natural and most unrestrained in a naturally Polynesian manner otherwise decimated in the name of warped and racist "Manifest Destiny."
Do these poesies still fascinate you, fellow Hanna-Barberians? And hast thou and thine such poesy you might find enjoyable for this Sunday midday presence?

How Peter Potamus prepares for arrival in another orison of Polynesia Uncharted for to have another sojourn among such untrammelled natives
With the aid of his trusty simian navigator, So-So, Peter guides the balloon to ita landing spot and anchorage just off the traditional three-mile line measured from the principal island of the particular grouping
The balloon is gradually deflated ahead of splash landing and anchorage as above
Command is handed over to So-So, who also has some food supplied for him in the meantime
Peter "himself" strips down to essentially himself as he mounts his repurposed ancient Polynesian koa-wood surfboard once gifted him by a king of some other remote and uncharted section of the Polynesian, essentially becoming a Kneelo-type paddleboard; such is rode in to what amounts to the principal settlement of the island community, with occasional splashing of water on his body to keep such moist
On arrival, the traditional welcome by the local royalty and other natives, followed by the reception and ritual displays of hula and lovemaking
(The nakedness deployed by Peter Potamus in such uncharted reaches of Polynesia is a trick learned from his late father, Perry Potamus; such, know, to avoid unnerving natives whose cousins elsewhere in the Polynesian were stunned by Western explorers, traders and missionaries unaware of local ways about climate dictating as little clothing as possible--and we know what ensued.)

Who could imagine Peter Potamus arriving somewhere in Polynesia Uncharted via kneelo paddleboard on waves such as these?
Tumblr media
(Know: Out of deference to traditional cultural aspects and folkways, not to mention respecting of their isolation so as not to cause offense, Peter Potamus prefers his arrival naked, launching himself from the Magic Balloon at anchor just off the traditional three-mile limit.)

As if being mistaken for a native hippo god wasn't awful enow for Peter Potamus--
"So-So," saith Peter Potamus over Nescafé and pilot bread on one of those "journeys to nowhere" in that Magic Balloon of his bound to turn up in Polynesia Uncharted more than likely, "have I ever explained to you how my tradition of arriving in Polynesia Uncharted via kneeling paddleboard came about? I admit it's rather fascinating!"
"Feel free, Peter!" was how So-So, Peter's simian compadre and navigator, responded.
"Credit my late father, Perry Potamus," Peter started explaining, "he who got me into this whole adventure business to begin with, for the exercise I have in arriving as I do in some part or another of Polynesia Uncharted. And to think it all started with a koa wood surfboard of ancient Polynesian fashion given my father all those years ago by some local king for being so fascinated with such fascinating and yet primitive cultures and lifestyle--in a respectful way, of course!"
"I can believe that, Peter!" So-So explained as he was taking the sextant readings for navigational ends.
"Ahhhh yes ... a respectful fascination for nakedness as Nature intended ... being especially close to dolphins when swimming and diving with them to the extent of actually being rather trusting ... and looking upon sex as natural and enjoyable, not being embarrassed at the feeling either!"
"That must be very FASCINATING indeed!!" saith So-So.
"In time, Perry began developing the style of paddling out on that surfboard, kneeling on same, mainly as a way to reach the shore of some unmapped Polynesian paradiso from the balloon at anchor just off the traditional three-mile line ... and naked, besides!"
"Let me guess, Peter," asked an excited So-So. "To attract attention?"
"In a way ... yes," Peter remarked. "But then again, after reading numerous accounts of other Polynesians taking shock and surprise at fair-skinned explorers, missionaries and traders who, in the end, were causing nothing but trouble to such otherwise wonderful cultures and societies, and their traditions, Perry felt it best to avoid problems by going in naked to the main island thereof, so as to 'blend in' with the traditional nakedness of the locals. Thereby earning much trust in the bargain with such communities!"
"And when did you start coming along?" So-So asked.
"So-So," Peter explained, "I began joining my father on those journeys from about five years of age, mainly as a way to learn stuff and become fascinated with such interesting, if primitive, cultures and peoples while keeping him company! And if anything, at least early on, he always advised me against needlessly ogling the natives in such obvious nakedness; 'Nature,' my father explained to me, 'made them what they are, to begin with ... and such nakedness is rather obvious to them. In fact, they see this nakedness as being closer to Nature all the more, especially when in water ... and may explain why the dolphins in those parts have such a wonderful trust and friendship with said natives!'"
So-So couldn't resist going into a simian equivalent of the wolf whistle on hearing about such nakedness being a given among such peoples, prompting Peter to rebuke So-So for not showing due regard for such obviously latent and natural nakedness, driven for the most part (as Peter explained) by isolation, the obviously tropical climate and a need for comfort at its most basic while appeasing their deities. "And might it surprise you to know, So-So," Peter added, "that to such peoples, wearing too much clothing--as in anything more than a loincloth--is seen as taboo and unnerving to their gods!"
(Short pause while Peter gets another mug of sweet milky Nescafé ready.)
"Being naked among those peoples, So-So," Peter remarked, "just feels natural ... as well as letting Nature provide. Especially when it comes to amusements, sexual and otherwise ... and have I ever mentioned just how gracefully those natives can dive underwater, and how deep as well?"
"Plenty of times, Peter!" remarked So-So.
"In fact, some of this hippo's diving interest was learned by way of such uncharted islands, finding much fascination just wearing yourself among the reefs along utterly naked natives--and maybe a dolphin or two! But that's probably for later, So-So; it looks as if we're approaching another of my beloved uncharted communities!"
Which, at any rate, began the descent, splashdown and--you can assume what follows in these scenarios.

What more could Peter Potamus ask for out of Polynesia Uncharted than--
Tumblr media
(Especially when some nephews/nieces of his are along to "learn some facts of life" in a natural and fascinating sort of way, arriving in their nakedness so as not to needlessly offend such uncharted peoples by way of kneelo paddleboards)

Just imagine this scenario as Peter Potamus prepares to make his Polynesian presence via kneelo paddleboard from The Magic Balloon:
As Peter Potamus prepares to hand charge of The Magic Balloon to So-So, his trusty simian companion, Peter can't help but show serious arousal between his legs as he changes from the trademark pith helmet and safari jacket to full-on nakedness ... which So-So, for some reason, can't help but find amusing--or is that "bemusing," as Snagglepuss would parse it?

As Peter Potamus was preparing for another rendezvous into Polynesia Uncharted, the following conversation with So-So was discerned:
SO-SO, Peter Potamus' trusty simian pilot and navigator in the Magic Balloon, quoting a trope: "If I said you had a beautiful body--" PETER POTAMUS, finishing the line as he takes off and hangs up his safari jacket: "--would you hold it against me?" [Chuckles] And with a body as beautiful as THIS [Peter revealing the Luscious Glory of his nakedness, and with a sense of pride], which has felt the touch of many a coconut oil rub across Polynesia's unmapped enchantedness, who could resist my charms?! [For some reason, Peter Potamus senses a major arousal of his penis, with some pre-ejaculate dripping from same. He manages not to feel any shame or embarrassment, having been conditioned thus by his many experiences in the uncharted of Polynesia; So-So, for some reason, senses an almost juvenile sort of wonderment at the sight.] PETER POTAMUS, unto himself: Doesn't THAT actually feel wonderful? [Unto So-So:] Sometime, when I bring my cousins over, I ought to introduce them to the wonder and fascination that is the Polynesian coconut oil body rub ... and how stimulating such can feel! [And thus he departs for the fascination of another part unmapped and uncharted of the Polynesian by way of his kneelo paddleboard as much as the charm of his nakedness]

As Peter Potamus prepares to head out to another part of Polynesia Uncharted, leaving charge of the Magic Balloon to his trusty simian partner, So-So
[Mise en scene: The Magic Balloon is at anchor offshore of the main island in such an uncharted group, near the traditional three-mile line. Peter Potamus can be seen changing from his safari jacket to his nakedness as he prepares for the transition.] SO-SO, somewhat stunned at the change: Oh, hubba-hubba! PETER POTAMUS, explaining things: So-So, my simian compadre--even if I purchased you originally from some kitschy mail-order offer--I assume you know the old maxim about "when in Rome," and all that jazz. Now, in these parts of Polynesia--parts which have yet to be explored by Those Who Should Know Better, and those whose ideas of "Civilisation" are themselves rather distorted--they see nakedness as preferable unto their deities, and besides, to them, excessive and unnecessary clothing in such a warm and fascinating climate is an affront! And what's more, nakedness just can't help but feel wonderful, especially underwater! [Whereupon Peter suddenly feels aroused between his legs as he prepares to get his trusty kneelo paddleboard ready for the journey; So-So, for his part, manages not to notice it nor otherwise call unwelcome attention to same.]

So what goes through Peter Potamus' mind as he paddles in his kneelo paddleboard towards some uncharted Polynesian island from the Magic Balloon otherwise at anchor just off the Three-Mile Line?
No doubt in his nakedness, the better to avoid embarrassment among the natives who are otherwise content in their nakedness and their sexual candor and directness which "Civilisation" risks bringing about.
But it can certainly feel refreshing to find Peter naked in his sojourn, maybe splashing a little water on himself every now and then for keeping cool during the journey.
And to just sense some awe and wonder as dolphins of the wild jump about, as if in welcome to Peter's presence unto such a wondrous paradise ... and also hugging and caressing one or two as swim past.
Such obviously being a delightful display of dolphin friendship in such lands, otherwise unexplored and still wild by and large, whose natives and the wild dolphins surrounding can't help but be most extraordinary companions.
Such being a show of trust and friendship in ways most surprising to the average person (though not going into the details here) between dolphin and human in ways which, as Peter puts it, "must make Flipper jealous."
And what a welcome must await Peter ...
Do these weekly exercises in poesy still fascinate thee, fellow Hanna-Barberians? And hast thou poesy you wish to share here?

Peter Potamus and Polynesia Uncharted: A fascinating fanfic avenue
When it comes to Polynesia Uncharted, Peter Potamus can get to be a rather interesting personality in the fanfic and vignettes offered in this vein from time to time. In fact, the two just seem to be made for each other.
In fact, as I enjoy picturing it, Peter would not be the sort associating with greedy, unscrupulous and obnoxiously race-conscious traders and pearl merchants who see such otherwise proud natives as cannon-fodder for the sake of profit, forcing the natives to push the limits of human endurance by diving all the deeper in search of pearls in general and that elusive Pearl of Great Price in particular, which in such exploitative circles cannot be spoken of without emotion rivalled only by misguided religious serving churches targeting mainly "poor white trash" as see religion more or less as a distractive from their lives of despondency and privation excused as pride.
Rather, Peter (in a trait perhaps learned from his late father, Perry Potamus) sees such unmapped and uncharted reaches of that mystical hinterland known as Polynesia with awe and fascination tinctured with respect for their traditional folkways to such extent as requires him to not disclose their true names and locales. Such folkways as are fond of overt nakedness and equally overt sexuality seen as equally natural and enjoyable, as well as a most unlikely sort of dolphin/human relationship putting the marine-life parks and dolphinaria to shame.
Particularly because such a bond is a natural one, helped all the more by the natives' fondness for diving naked out of as much tradition as comfort (and the dolphins obviously like the natives for that, as Peter Potamus has noted in several journals of his).
Equally worthy of note when it comes to Peter's "quality time" among Polynesians Uncharted: To avoid potential embarrassment unto the natives, Peter prefers parking the Magic Balloon to just outside the traditional three-mile line offshore, leaving his simian compadre So-So in charge ... and Peter makes his entrance in most natural form (as in naked, naturally) via an "old-school" Polynesian surfboard once given his late father out of affection, repurposed in the stylee of an Australian "kneelo" paddleboard. How wonderful an arrival can this get, fellow Hanna-Barberians?
Oh, and let's not forget about the diving and surfing and love among native women ...
Satisfied? Or have you possible fanfic ideas in this vein?
