My Summary:

This is another one of the first fics I read in this fandom and I think it’s one of the cutest, heart-throbbing, and beautiful pieces in the fandom. I know I say that for a lot of fics but I seriously my love this fic with all my heart. Paramedic Lance holds a special place in my heart so that mixed with firefighter Keith (which was a combo I didn’t know I needed) is just *chefs kiss* I honestly can’t put into words how much love and angst went into the writing. Just trust me- you’ll love this fic.

Klance: Big Fish and Begonia au. 

I can’t stop thinking about this movie and it’s art style as well as my two beautiful bois. :) I couldn’t resist, thus, this AU was born. (It’s a bit lengthy, sorry). (Also if you haven’t seen BF&B, there are spoilers ahead!)

My thoughts are:

- Keith serves as the role of Qiu, Lance is undoubtedly Kun. 

- Instead of there being a Chun in the middle of the two, the two boys fall in love with each other. This happens when Keith goes to the surface world during the coming-of-age ceremony. As he swims around in the form of a red dolphin, he comes upon Lance with one of his nieces, and is smitten. 

- Lance notices the red dolphin with his niece and is automatically intrigued. He tries to draw it near with his dolphin-shaped ocarina, and again when he is in his fishing boat with his nephew, feeding the local cetaceans. The red dolphin is shyer than the others, swimming away from Lance no matter what he does. 

- Days later, a massive storm hits. Lance runs outside to see his nieces and nephews crying about the red dolphin - it’s caught in a net near a raging whirlpool. He goes into the water to free it, when he gets caught in the whirlpool himself and drowns. 

- Keith returns to his own world, guilty and heartbroken that he inadvertently caused the boy who saved his life to drown. 

- Keith meets up with Haggar the Soul keeper to bargain for Lance’s life. Haggar warns him about the consequences before taking half of Keith’s life and giving him Lance’s soul, which has manifested into a blue baby dolphin. Haggar informs Keith that he needs to nurture Lance’s soul before returning him to the human world. 

- Keith raises the baby dolphin himself, transferring him from bowl, to pond, to swimming hole as Lance grows bigger. 

- When natural disasters and season changes strike Keith’s homeland, his mother and the other villagers recognize that the cause of these disasters is due to the presence of a human soul. They track down Keith in an effort to stop further disaster to their realm. However, when they tell Keith to give up Lance, he refuses, and instead, performs the ritual to open the portal to the human world. When Lance is unable to swim through the portal, more holes begin to break through the sky, flooding Keith’s realm with sea water from the human realm.

- As Keith tries to help residents reach higher grounds, him and his mother use their powers together to stop the sky from flooding. 

- Haggar finds Keith and sets him on a quest to return Lance to his own world. 

- The two trek to the far reaches of the realm, before Keith finds the perfect spot to perform yet another ritual. On top of a cliff overlooking the ocean, the two cherish their last moments together. Under Haggar’s instructions, Keith casts a spell that will open a portal that will bring Lance back to his home while killing Keith in the process by setting him on magical fire. When he opens the portal, he transforms Lance into a human so he can say goodbye to him. As he burns away, he tells Lance that he will be with him always, and that he hopes to see him again in another world. The two then leap off the cliff together before Keith vanishes in a teary Lance’s arms.

- Lance is turned back into a dolphin once more before returning to the human world. 

- In the very end, Lance wakes up on the shore of his island’s beach. He remembers all that happened in the other realm, and is saddened that he will never be able to see Keith again. 

- As Lance is about to return home to his worried family, he sees that someone else has washed up on the beach. He approaches the person cautiously, before recognizing the black mullet and red robes. He rushes forwards, scooping Keith in his arms and vowing to never let him go. 

- The two then make their way up the path towards Lance’s home. Keith is nervous about meeting Lance’s family and learning about human customs, while Lance cannot wait to show his new magical boyfriend off to his family.

– before entering any spooky scene, they challenge each other to see who will scream first. keith always win because lance is afraid of his own shadow.

– once, upon entering the house, keith stepped on a twig, and lance whipped around so fast he’s thrown off balance and ended up on the ground in an anxiety ridden tangle of limbs.

– keith takes it upon himself to spook lance, but he’s not very good at it. despite that, he still gets a response from lance because, as aforementioned, lance is afraid of everything

– sometimes he just gets violent. keith: ‘hey lance. what’s that’ lance, turning to the direction that keith is pointing: ‘what’ keith: *chucks a fist sized rock at his head* ‘that’

– keith: ‘if there’s really a demon here, i’ll like to propose a deal to you. you let me walk free, and in return, i will hand over this catholic, god-loving boy. he’s also a pretty good swimmer, so you can toss him in your lake of fire if you want some cheap and easy entertainment.’ lance, sobbing and pulling on keith’s arm: ‘keith,i’msorry.i’llnevereatyoursourgummywormseveragain. iwasjustreallyhungryinthecar. keith. keith! pleasestopi’msorry.’

– lance always walks around the area like he’s barefoot in a field of glass: carefully and trying his best not to disturb. keith coughed up a nasty phlegm and spat it on the front door of a haunted house. more than once.

– lance: ‘did you hear that? i think a ghost just whispered my name.’ keith, standing in a corner: ‘that was no ghost. that was the air whistling through my balls. my pants got stuffy so im airing them out.’ lance: keEItH wTf

– sometimes, when he gets really anxious, lance forgets about their rivalry and clutches on to keith’s arm. keith doesn’t say anything. just looks in every direction but lance’s and tries his best to maintain his countenance.

– keith always talks in an accent, appropriate to the ghosts that linger. lance hates it because he finds it provoking. 

– once keith spits out a really really bad swedish accent, and lance looses it. he laughs so hard they couldn’t move forward for fifteen minutes.

–keith: ‘dare me to touch that dirty, spooky relic?’ lance: ‘no’ keith, moving forward to touch the dirty, spooky relic: ‘i can’t believe you’re making me do this. this is so sick’ lance: keItH nO.

– there’s one thing keith is afraid of: bats. he nearly looses his mind when a bat got itself tangled in his hair, swooping too low.

– after the bat got stuck in his hair, he goes to the car and sits. and refuses to continue.

– lance always breaks something. always. upon leaving one of the site, he boasted about not breaking a single thing, ‘did not disrupt a single dust bunny’ he said, only to step on a molding piece of floorboard. 

– keith is laughing so hard because lance went and made a hole in the floor. he bRoKe tHe GoDdAmN fLoOr

Okay so, let me tell you the cutest love story in the world. It does have a sad ended so please be warned.

Mod Blue name is Ethan and he was with his bf/husband Tyler for years. And they both joked that klance was based off them.

They met when they were around 10 years old, Tyler had moved to the same school as Ethan and they quickly became friends. Now they reflected back on this as they were older but by age 11 they both had crushes on each other but didn't really understand their feelings.

Tyler comes from a very supportive and open family so he was like "oh I like a boy." While Ethan came from a very homophobic family so he was very distraught.

They had their first kiss at age 12 at a sleepover and quickly found themselves dating.

They did everything together, awkward school dances, prom, Ethan went to Tyler's figure skating competitions and Tyler went to Ethan hocky games. They were join at the hip.

Yeah they had some big fights, fights that would probably be the end of most relationships but they always fell back together.

In 2018 (they were both 18) they got married and it was suppose to be happily ever after. In 2019 Ethan was diagnosed with an aggressive cancer so in order to treat it he underwent very intensive surgery which left him blind.

It was hard on both of them but after some adjustment they figured it out. They still traveled, went on dates, etc. They made it work.

But at the start of this year the cancer came back and Ethan passed at the end of august. It was hard for Tyler and he's still trying to navigate everything without him but one day at a time.

Ethan was my best friend and I think about him all the time and he always told me to model a love story after his; so here I am (just without the cancer and someone passing away)

I never blogged about VLD, would’ve been instantly cancelled for shipping sheith lmao. there was some good & extremely fucked up alien body horror fic for that show though... I went into the tags just a handful of times and was like oh fuck no. Also I got into it RIGHT before the “Shiro is canon gay! 🙌” —> “his bf dies in a flashback 😡” fandom whiplash. One of the strangest queerbaiting situations & resulting discourse I’ve ever seen in my life.

Several things going on here! First of all yes the Curtis debacle truly is thee funniest thing that happened in vld. Show runners will introduce a mans fiancé in the second to last season of a show, kill the fiancé, and then have the man marry an extra who is SO unimportant we only know his name because of interviews with the show runners. Absolutely exquisite homophobia and the discourse was in fact delicious. Second of all WHERE is the good alien body horror fic. All I remember is the dirty laundry drama and everyone being obsessed with love bug aus. Third of all anon I am so sorry. You would’ve been drawn and quartered at dawn. Also like. I am not a sheith enjoyer HOWEVER I will readily admit that the ep in s6 where Keith has to fight a brainwashed shiro fucks harder than anything klance ever did.
