BTW its still Dec 31 here where I am, so I'll say it counts.

I've done a lot more than I expected this year, as I look back. And I'm kind of proud of myself.

I started writing for another fandom - RWRB. Its been fun adding these characters to the mix.

I managed finishing 1 multi-chapter fic and a 11 shorter fics.

I'm still plugging away on 3 longer multi-chapter WIP, adding and posting chapters as I go.

I have compiled an additional WIP list of (*stops to count*) 16 other fics that are not posted yet, but are in various stages of readiness. I flitter around adding bits to each when inpiration hits.

I think that's about it for me for 2024 - still writing, slow and steady. 😊

I'm always so happy to see any of kudos and comments if you have left any . . . and I'm still really apologetic that I haven't gotten to responding to many. There's only so much time in the day. I will try to get to them!

WRITING GOALS FOR 2025: Basically write more, and write as often as I can. There are so many of my WIP I want to get into and finish . . hopefully some of you will find them interesting to read!

Summary:

Kurt Hummel thought by donating his services as a florist to Memorial Sloan Kettering, that he would simply be giving back to the medical community. A good deed for the month of December. Little did he know that a few chance run-ins with an adorable doctor and a sweet little girl in the hospital lobby would change all that. Written for the Klaine Secret Santa 2023 Gift Exchange.

Pretty Shiny things (Klaine fic) - 1,943 words

Summary:

The clangs and shrieks of the alarm system at Christie's Auction House filled the corridors, echoing through the mostly empty building. They were just as loud as the beating of Kurt and Blaine's hearts as they raced down corridor after corridor while they attempted to escape. “You’ve got to be fucking kidding me,” Kurt growled through his teeth as he ran, slipping slightly on the polished marble floor as he turned another corner. “I leave you alone for five minutes . . . Summary:

“I . . . I don't know why you're even interested." “Baby, I love you.  I'm interested in everything about you." Alex gave Henry a very pointed and heated look that definitely hit the mark. The flush on Henry’s face now deepened.  He worried his bottom lip between his teeth for a few moments as he considered his options. “Come on,” Alex softly cajoled.  “You can’t just say things like: ‘I played Elvira in a school production of Blythe Spirit’ and not expect me to ask for pictures . . or at least the lowdown on it all.”  Alex pouted again to prove his point.  “I’m a weak man, H.  These are the types of things I need to know more about.” ***** From a Friday Ficlet prompt: "Tell Me anything. Summary:

"Get your hands off me!" The sound of a scuffle had Kurt look up from his reading. To be honest, Divination was such a bore of a class. It's not like he needed to learn anything new about it. Kurt had all of his mother's crystals, divination tools, and journals tucked away in her old trunk up in the attic of their home. He could read tea leaves and scry with the best of them. He had long ago lost focus on the chapter Professor Holiday had assigned them for the evening, so at this point, any other distraction would be welcome. Even if it was prefect duties.

Summary:

Kurt’s brow furrowed as he concentrated on the task at hand. He had to get it just right. His hand hovered just a few inches higher, and with a deft flick of his wrist, a drop of wax fell from the lit candle in his hand to his canvas below. The canvas moaned in ecstasy. “Now, darling, we don’t want to shift, now do we?" Kurt softly murmured as he leaned in close. Alex is a single dad, recently moved to NY with his young son who Henry hasn't met yet - or so Alex thought. (Fluffy kid!fic)

(Klaine) Sanctuary - (Klaine Word Scramble 2023) Crown Prince Blaine has stumbled into a secluded glade, trying to escape the horrors of the bloody war his father had brought upon their kingdom. Mourning his beloved older brother and faced with the burden of taking his place in the kingdom, Blaine yearns for a place to hid from the world to deal with the issues weighing on his heavy heart. He encounters a mysterious elf, the guardian of the magical spring that Blaine has mistakenly defiled, whose growing connection to his life the young prince can't ignore. (Inspired by an idea/ artwork by @datshitrandom and @justgleekout)

Hello hello. Thank you @forabeatofadrum for tagging me ❤️ I don't have a Monday banner and my beloved @jazziergin has disappeared into the fog so we're using a Sunday one.

Writing progress is slow. I got promoted at work largely against my will and now I fear I'm busy all the time. Like maybe they were right that I wasn't stretched in my old role but that was kind of the point??? Where are my spare fic writing hours I ask?

Anyway I'm working on a fill for one of the prompts I got sent and it's taken on a life of its own and has become an enemies to lovers + roommates situation. I think I will post it as two parts with the first one hopefully before the end of the week. Pray for me because time is short and my writing muscles are rusty and I somehow thought I should also throw in the klaine word scramble words.

“You need sleep. You look like crap.” Kurt means this in a somewhat kind way for once but it comes out sounding shitty anyway out of pure habit.

“Aw. Are you looking at pictures of yourself again?”

Kurt nearly laughs. He attributes it to late night hysteria, nothing more. He shuts his laptop and snuggles down under the covers. “Anderson, please. I'm blessed with excellent bone structure. It's practically impossible for me to take a bad picture.”

“Oh to live in your version of reality,” Blaine sighs wistfully.

Hmm.. I'm always so happy when I win, but then I realise I never know what to prompt lol

I'm gonna do the same for you as I did for @rockitmans and pick three small prompts from @caramelcoffeeaddict's Klaine prompt gdoc for you to choose your favourite from ;)

You’re always seated in my section of the diner and one day you look really sad so I brought you a free dessert to cheer you up

You’re the doctor explaining my surgery to me and I have no clue what you’re saying because I’m too mesmerized by how attractive you are

Someone stole my lunch out of the fridge in the teacher’s lounge, so you offer to share yours with me.

Just half an hour ago, I told myself I'd finish this fic and then I was struck by inspiration, so here we are!

I love all these prompts, but I am besotted with no. 1 so here we go. Gwen, I am blanking on a title though, so please, help me out, so that I can post it together with the two other fics and then it'll be my 69th work in the Glee fandom on AO3 (nice). I mean, I can post them separately, but do it for the 69!

Kurt doesn't love working at the Spotlight Diner. It's a survival job for him, Santana and Rachel. Luckily, there's always some good things to be found. He likes that he gets to sing and people genuinely seem to enjoy it. And he also has some loyal customers that always sit in his section. His favourites are two elderly women who tip heavily, and Eyebrows.

Eyebrows is an attractive guy who dresses neatly and he has a warm smile. He's always incredibly kind towards Kurt and his colleagues and yes, okay, Kurt might have a small crush on him. But Kurt needs to be professional. That's why he's never asked for Eyebrows's name. Santana came up with Eyebrows as a placeholder, to Kurt's dismay. She named him after his triangle shaped eyebrows.

Kurt has another shift, but to his surprise, Eyebrows shows up. He usually never shows up on Monday evenings. Something else is off.

“Eyebrows looks sad.”

“Do not call him Eyebrows, Santana!” Kurt hisses, but his friend is right, because Eyebrows looks like he’s been crying.

Santana covertly nods towards Eyebrows.

“Talk to him.”

Kurt hesitates. Eyebrows looks like he doesn’t want to be bothered. Kurt tells Santana that, but she rolls her eyes.

“He’s gone to a public diner and you’re his waiter,” she points out. She has a point. Kurt does have to serve him.

Then he has a small idea. Kurt rushes to the kitchen.

A few minutes later, Kurt walks towards Eyebrows, holding a small sundae. It’s not much, but it’s all he could get. Gunther definitely doesn’t approve of giving freebies, even to loyal customers.

“Here,” Kurt puts the sundae on the table.

Eyebrows was hiding his head in his hands, so he is startled. He looks up to see Kurt. Eyebrow’s eyes are gorgeous, even when they’re filled with tears, which is kind of a weird thing to think. But Eyebrows is gorgeous!

“You probably need it,” Kurt shoves the sundae closer to Eyebrows. He gives him a comforting smile.

Eyebrows’s looking at Kurt as if he was sent from the heavens above.

"Are you okay?" Kurt asks. It's definitely a rhetorical question. Eyebrows look far from okay.

So Kurt isn't surprised when Eyebrows shakes his head.

"Do you, uh, want to order or do you want to talk?" Kurt asks. Gunther would scold Kurt for taking more time, but Eyebrows might need him and Kurt doesn't mind talking to him.

"I... got fired from my dream job."

"Oh. I'm sorry."

Eyebrows looks like he's about to burst into a fresh round of tears, but he does pick up the spoon. Kurt sees that as a win. While Eyebrows shoves ice cream into his mouth, he tells Kurt about what happened. Kurt listens attentively and makes affirming noises every now and then. It does sound terrible. Eyebrows was on Broadway. He was going to write music for a show, but due to "creative differences", he was let go. Kurt also dreams of going to Broadway, so he's crushed on Eyebrow's behalf.

By the time the sundae is gone, the story is over. Eyebrows looks calmer.

"Sorry for unloading that all on you."

"It's fine, I get it."

"You do?"

Kurt then tells Eyebrows about his Broadway dreams. Unlike Eyebrows, he never realised them (although Eyebrow's dreams aren't coming true either now), but he understands the wish to make it on in the Broadway scene. He went to NYADA, for Christ's sake, and he's still a waiter with a lot of student debt.

"So, truly. I don't mind."

Eyebrows laughs awkwardly.

"Thanks. I needed it. The venting and the sundae. How much do I pay for it?"

"It's on the house," Kurt quickly reassures him.

Eyebrows is radiating gratitude.

"The usual?" Kurt then asks.

"Yes, please."

The next day, Eyebrows appears again. He looks happy. Kurt tells him that when he greets him.

"I am!" Eyebrows sounds exhuberant, "I got my job back."

"Really?"

"Yes! Some other people in the creative team disagreed and they fought the decision and apparently the person who fired me didn't even discuss it with the others. Now his position is being questioned! My role might change a little bit, but I am back on board."

"Eyebrows, that's amazing!" Kurt says and in his excitement, he doesn't realise he called Eyebrows Eyebrows.

"... Eyebrows?"

Kurt, embarrassed, explains the context. Luckily, Eyebrows laughs and he seems to enjoy it.

"I am flattered, but my name is Blaine."

"Kurt," Kurt says back.

"I know."

Right, Kurt has a name tag.

"I don't mind being called Eyebrows, but in case you need a reminder," Eyebrows - Blaine - opens his pocket and he takes out a wallet. He hands Kurt a business card.

Blaine has a business card, which is professional, but Kurt doesn't know why Blaine's handing it to him. Yes, Kurt told Blaine he has a Broadway dream, but Blaine isn't influential enough to help him get a job.

"... Thanks?"

"My name is on there. And my number as well."

Oh.

"Oh."

Blaine's eyes light up.

"Well it is very important information for me to remember," Kurt says coyly, "The name is important as well."

Their moment is cut short when Gunther tells Kurt to hurry up. Kurt tries not to roll his eyes and Blaine also looks saddened by the interruption.

"The usual?"

"Always, but add a sundae to it," Blaine says with a wink.

Kurt does his job. He doesn't have a lot of time to stop at Blaine's table, but he doesn't mind. Kurt has the feeling he'll talk to Blaine more often, even outside of work.

1. Goodbye with the Car Lights Off Kiss

It’s Ohio, and if any gay couple knows they have to be careful, it’s Kurt and Blaine, because they’ve both lived here all their lives and they know what it’s like here.

But Blaine’s still at Dalton, as much as Kurt has asked him (he’s starting to go a little mad with Blaine’s ‘But the warblers are my friends!’ speech), and they really don’t get to see each other as much as they’d like to, with the distance and schoolwork and how Kurt’s stressing over his room because he’s planning to redecorate it soon, and he needs absolute silence to work out the correct shade of blue to match his complexion, so these moments are precious to them.

They went to the movies, had to just go as ‘friends’ of course, but it’s not like Kurt’s going to be comfortable enough anyway to start making out with Blaine at the back of the cinema - he’s always too worried about the other people there, anyway. Still, he does think about it, thinks about simply being able to hold hands on a date without the fear of vulnerability, because here, the love they share isn’t an easy obstacle to overcome. Not to other people, at least.

So it’s in the car that they can truly be themselves, Kurt driving Blaine home in his navigator and Blaine just looking at him like it’s the most natural thing to do, and Kurt is a little too aware of it, just keeps his eyes on the road.

Some way through the journey, though, his hand moves off the steering wheel, finds Blaine’s in the middle, clutches it. And they both don’t say anything, because nothing needs to be said. Kurt is just happy they have this time, now. They listen to Joni as she sings her high notes, ‘I’ve been to sea before…’ and push on, the relaxing sound of the car engine washing over Blaine’s ears, the calmness of late-night drives home putting him at ease. Kurt squeezes his hand as a signal pf finality before putting it back on the wheel, getting wary of the harsh darkness of the night. And Blaine looks out the window, wistful.

When Kurt drops Blaine off, a blocks down because Blaine’s dad is iffy about parking (they both know that’s not what he’s really ‘iffy’ about in that situation), it’s weird how there’s sudden silence - that silence signals the end of the journey, and Blaine already misses Kurt; Joni’s not singing anymore and Blaine’s heart pulls because he knows Kurt plays it because it reminds him of his mom, and Blaine loves the originality of the singer’s voice.

They turn the lights in the car off because it’s Ohio, they really do have to be careful and it’s nearly eleven, and Kurt reaches over again and grabs Blaine’s hand, notices how his face is shadowed by the moonlight, smiles lightly.

Blaine says, words blurring together slightly now he’s a little tired, “I’ll see you at the football game on Sunday?”

Kurt sighs, “Yeah. Not if I can help it.” and Blaine laughs, looks down and shakes his head. His watch beeps eleven ‘o clock, and it’s curfew now, and Blaine needs to leave.

“I… need to go.” He mumbles although it’s exactly the opposite of what he wants to do, and Kurt breathes in and nods, so adult-like the way he does it, like he’s always leading these situations like he’s grown up to be this way because he had to.

“I’ll miss you,” He says and the moonlight is the only light in the car, “See you soon.” and kisses Blaine, lingering for just a moment with the car lights off and the rest of the world quiet around them, and when Blaine pulls back he says, “Love you.”

Kurt smiles, “Love you too.” and Blaine opens the car door.

2. The Shopping List Kiss, but engaged

“So we’ve got…” Kurt takes a moment to recount in his brain everything they need from the store, “peas, milk, wine…”

“Balsamic vinegar!” Blaine exaggerates, and it’s almost hysteric how Kurt can see him thinking back to the salad they had the night before, no dressing at all and basically just some salad leaves in a bowl.

“You know how expensive that stuff is…” Kurt trails off, but writes it down on his little A6 pocket notebook anyway because Blaine has a look of such desperation on his face like if he doesn’t buy balsamic vinegar it will be the end of the world, and clicks the top of the pen as he thinks again: don’t need any more flour, Blaine bought like two packs of that last week and then I cried over making him a Bakewell tart; don’t need any more butter, there’s still that weird vegan stuff in the fridge; we’ve already got orange juice…

Blaine says, interrupting Kurt’s thoughts, as boring as they may be, “Would you be so kind and get some full-fat milk instead of skimmed? It tastes like water, Kurt.”

Kurt looks at him, eyebrows raising, “Are you criticising my milk choices?”

“...Yes.”

“How does full fat even make a difference? It’s literally just milk.”

“It tastes like water!”

The sound of a click on his pen again - Kurt’s fiddling with it as he presses it against the notepad, thinking thinking thinking. He says, “Only if I get a kiss first,” and raises his eyebrows expectantly and taps his cheek, and Blaine gets up from where he’s sitting at their tiny dining table, puts his hand lightly on Kurt’s forearm as he presses his lips to the skin with a loud smack, and Kurt laughs, “Fine.” and adds the words ‘full fat’ to where he’s written ‘milk’    

3. Welcome Home Kiss, and husbands now

Blaine’s mind is a whirl of different worries, his bag filled with papers to mark and grades to give and there’s a lot to think about, recapping through his day; how his teaching assistant is off sick with some sort of awful flu thing and it’s hard, managing everything on his own when his kids can be so unpredictable and he is new to this. But he’s good at what he does. He knows that.

He’s barely moving consciously during his journey home, through the New York subway just like many of the other people here on their daily nine-to-five. It’s so relative to him now, this journey - he doesn’t really think about it anymore. He just knows that when he gets home, Kurt is actually going to be there instead of working late in the office - things have eased off a little since fashion week ended - and it’s an incredibly comforting thought, that when he gets home, there’ll be Kurt there, real and beautiful and there. Blaine thinks about what he might be doing, maybe he’s got the wicked soundtrack on, maybe his soft voice is singing sweetly to the melodies of Joni Mitchell’s voice - something that always reminds Blaine of when they were young, or maybe he’s making dinner, sizzling in the pan - his signature stir-fries are always delicious.

And Blaine is so happy he’ll be home.

He opens the door and there Kurt is, scrolling through his phone as he leans against the counter near the hob where there’s some pasta boiling (it’s rigatoni - Kurt will always lecture Blaine about how it is the superior pasta shape) and some sort of sauce on the go too, and if he listens closely there is Joni Mitchell playing in the background, and Blaine smiles because A Case of You will always be one of his favourite songs.

He drops his bag on the floor and puts his coat up on the hanger by the door, walks over to his husband and kisses him quickly. “Hey,” he says, “smells delicious.”

Kurt hums appreciatively, “Hmm. Welcome home.”

Blaine is asleep when Kurt gets home, and Kurt smiles a little as he enters their room and closes the door softly. They’re both at different points in the midst of their finals; Kurt, luckily, is pretty much done, but Blaine is in the thick of them right now. Kurt’s not surprised to see him asleep after his almost all-nighter last night. 

Kurt thinks he might be headed there, too; he only has one final left after the weekend and he isn’t too stressed about it. He changes into more comfortable clothes and crawls into bed behind Blaine, gathering him in his arms. Blaine stirs and turns his head a little.

“Hey,” he says, voice tired and rough with sleep.

Kurt presses his lips to Blaine’s temple. “How’d your exam go?”

Blaine hums contentedly. “Pretty well. I’m tired.”

“This is why you shouldn’t pull all-nighters, honey,” Kurt teases, laughing softly. “Leave the bad sleeping schedule to me.”

“It wasn’t an all-nighter,” Blaine mumbles in a half-hearted protest.

“Yeah, you just stayed up until 5.” Kurt intertwines their fingers together in front of Blaine. “Not an all-nighter.”

Blaine makes an absent sound of agreement. “Well, it worked.”

Kurt grins at Blaine’s sleep-softened state. “Good job, honey,” he says quietly, genuinely. He knows this was one of his biggest finals, and the one he was most worried about. 

They’re quiet for a minute before Kurt notices… “Is that my shirt?”

Blaine doesn’t respond and Kurt thinks he’s asleep, but then he says, “You mean our shirt?” He rolls over slightly so Kurt can see his half-open eyes and the edge of a grin on his face. If he turned to face him, Kurt would be able to see the old faded logo on the front of the Hummel Tires & Lube T-shirt, already a little big on Kurt and even more so on Blaine.

Kurt smiles, pulling Blaine closer. “You’re cute, clothing thief,” he says drily, and after a moment, says, “Feel free to steal that shirt whenever you want.”

“It’s our shirt,” Blaine repeats, pout evident in his voice. Kurt chuckles. 

“Just don’t steal the Dalton one - the blue one. I like that one.”

Blaine pauses. “That’s my shirt.”

“Go back to sleep.”

Scarves & Coffee Survey Results

Thank you very much to everyone that filled out the survey from last month! I truly appreciate each and every one of you sharing your thoughts on the site.

I wanted to go over most of the responses (some were redundant/already discussed) and respond to those publicly so you all know what's going on and what the future has in store for S&C (and maybe even field some more insight). Responses are under the cut:

Are there any changes or updates you would like to see to current features on Scarves & Coffee?

Currently the "Categories" available seem really limited - while posting things I noticed there were no options for historical, alternate meeting, canon compliant, or other common tropes. Also, the way of selecting categories and characters using the ctrl key is a little clunky and unintuitive.

All of the current categories on the site were directly ported from the original site and haven't really been updated since 2011. If you have any categories you would like to see added, please send in an Ask or reply below. (Though the categories may be split into major categories and tags in the future.) But yes, the form requiring the ctrl key to select multiple categories/characters is super annoying, adding that to the list.

Yes! I would like to see all the fics posted by kudos or most read not only the first ten!

You can sort the entire library by kudos/most read using the Browse Library page. Just click what you want to sort by in the search menu and then press "Search." You don't have to have anything in the Search box to sort/filter entries. The Top Tens page is just a page that was on the original site that showcases the top ten in each category for fun.

Some sort of RSS feed so I can track new stuff posted to the site without having to check ever couple days. The site is currently low traffic so I stopped visiting regularly.

What features would you like to see added to Scarves & Coffee? (this can be anything! feel free to request as much as you want, from anything as small as font size buttons on entries to something as ambitious as an archive gallery or forum)

- a similar thing to the *private* bookmark option on ao3 - If it is not already there, a function to DM a writer instead of having to leave a review or manually searching them out on tumblr. - A part of the website specifically designated for anyone to post prompts instead of fics, which works in the same way with the categories etc. A bit like a crossover between a forum and a fic archive. Writers could just browse through lists of prompts and pick whatever tickles their fancy. - Again, if not already present, a dark mode for reading at night, because let's be real here.. Who ever put away a book just because it was bedtime, when they were enjoying themselves?

Private bookmarks have been added to the to-do list. You can DM any user on the site by going to their profile page and clicking the "Message" link in the left sidebar (at the top on mobile). A prompts system is already on the to-do list, but I like the way it's described here. A dark mode for the text section of stories has already been implemented, but a full-site dark mode is on the to-do list.

back dating uploads

I know AO3 allows backdating entries, but I'm not 100% sure if it's a great idea for various reasons. But if many of you are interested in having that ability, I may implement it. If anyone else has an opinion on this, I'd love to hear about it below/in Asks.

Forums or more opportunities for user interactions would be great - I think making it more of a social space for users to post questions/ideas/thoughts about klaine, recommend or discuss fics, and have conversations about related topics would set the site apart from other options for posting fic.

Yes, I agree! I would love to have more interaction options on the site. I do plan on adding in a forum, maybe even a chat and journal posting system as well. These might be a ways away, but they are on the list, I promise.

I would like found the stories which are labelled with the special attention because they are most relevant and people liked these stories so much. A special section.

I think you're referring to some kind of Featured section, which the original S&C did have. I am open to adding that back in, I even have the log of what was originally featured. It has been added to the list.

I would like you to add the options You can save authors or books and also add the option for an author to follow a story abandoned many years ago.

We currently have the option to track/bookmark/give kudos to stories and track authors. But, favoriting for stories and adding them to Lists is on the to-do list.

What do you think would draw more active authors to add to the archive?

- Active partnership/collaboration with things like prompt bangs, the Lima Bean and the Klaine CC library for maximum exposure. - The prompt archive I mentioned previously.

I'm open to working with other Klaine fandom groups and events. I do have a really exciting feature planned that would allow events to be hosted on the site. I can't wait to share it with you all :)

knowing it is up and not going away

I hear you. I'm sure the site going down for over a year damaged some trust in the validity and longevity of separate site archives. However, rest assured that I plan on keeping this site alive as long as I'm here, and have taken measures to ensure that it'll never get lost again. In the event that things do go south (extremely unlikely at this point), the archive will be handed over to AO3's Open Doors project for preservation.

It needs to have elements that make it, in some way or another, equally or more attractive to post on than AO3. Somehow leaning into the Klaine-centric nature of it, or offering user interaction features that don't exist on AO3, might make it a better place to engage with readers about Klaine fic.

I agree. I think the upcoming interaction features I have planned will help with this.

Implementing the Cloudflare security like ff.net. I HATE that I have to authenticate regularly and it often fails.

I'm not sure what you're referring to regarding having to authenticate, and you didn't leave a contact account on the survey so I can't ask you directly about your experience. But I've personally never had an issue with authentication on the site on PC or mobile. The SSL certificate is valid and should show the Secure lock on browsers. If anyone has any more information on this issue or recently experienced anything similar, I'd love to hear about it below, in an Ask, or by message.

As a reader, what would draw you to or prevent you from using Scarves & Coffee?

Tag searching and filtering. The more specific the better, but it should still search for things if you misspell them or if you word your search differently than the popular tag. (Like on ao3)

Yes! I have adding a section for tags on my to-do list that would include blacklisting. However, I can't promise that it would work quite like on AO3, simply because S&C doesn't have a giant team of tag wranglers like AO3 does that allows it to have such a dynamic tagging system. But I'll try to make it as usable as possible.

I can’t find a story that I want to read in that moment easily. It’s difficult sorting stories.

I'm not really sure how to make it more straightforward besides adding a tagging system. There's the Categories page for specific categories and all of the filters on the browsing page. If you or anyone else has specific suggestions or ideas to improve finding stories, let me know.

How would you feel about Scarves & Coffee expanding to include entries from its former sister site, Sebklaine.net? Should they remain separate archives?

The majority has spoken! Sebklaine and S&C will remain separate archives, but....

Would you be open to Scarves & Coffee being part of a network of separate archives, such that you could use the same account to access each individual archive? Why or why not?

I think this is a good compromise - ultimately I feel that they should remain separate, because I think a lot of users strongly feel that they want to see content from certain ships and not others. But having them be closely-connected sister sites in some fashion sounds like a great idea.

Today has been super busy, but I'm finally getting to post my fill for the Klaine Spring Fling word "fruit." I am VERY excited about this story! I have known that the events of this chapter were coming and how they were going to go down basically since I first started this series, and this prompt word was entirely perfect to make it happen.

Today's fill is called Beneath a Fruit Tree. Kurt and Blaine take a drive to an apple orchard and pumpkin patch, a place that holds a special memory from their past, and they take a walk while reminiscing about the last time that they were there.

First off, I have not forgotten my RWRB fic, Puppy Love . . I'm working on the next chapter, a snippet for you:

“Haz.” “Haz. .  .” “Pssst . . . Haz . . .” A crumpled piece of paper  collided with Henry’s forehead and plopped unceremoniously onto the desk before him., knocking him back into the present moment. “I’m sorry, what?” Henry asked. Pez snorted as he looked at his best friend.  David had just jumped up onto Pez’ lap, licking his face excitedly.  “Can you believe this, David, dear boy, “ Pez asked the beagle.  “I’m being ignored.  Your father’s ignoring me.  Me!” Henry rolled his eyes as he resumed scanning the financial paperwork in front of him.  “You are impossible.” Pez continued to ignore Henry as he continued his conversation with the eager pup.  “David, I feel that you would understand.   You see, your father’s obsession . .” “I’m not obsessed with Alex!” “Case in point, “ said Pez, grinning at David, who snuggled further into his arms.  “I did not bring up your handsome doctor’s name . . yet your father knew EXACTLY who I was talking about by inference alone.” Henry huffed and tried once again to focus on the mind numbingly boring paperwork in front of him.  Though the mention of Alex’s name, did bring the vet to mind . . . again.  His beautiful eyes, those dark curls that Henry was longing to run his fingers through again . . those hands.  Henry shivered thinking all about what he saw those hands do during their last video call. Another crumpled sheet of paper smacked him in the chest. “Obsessed.” Pez reiterated with a pointed look to his best friend.  “You are obsessed, my darling.  You might as well admit it.” “Am not!” “Infatuated, then . .” “That’s practically the same thing . . and as I had mentioned before . . I am not.” “Are too.” “Am not." "Are toooooo . . ." "Are we really going to stoop to this?” Pez smirked.  “Oh, but it’s so much fun to see you this flustered over a boy.”

Here's a little thing I am trying to write for the first week of Klainetober prompt:

Clutching a red Solo cup filled with some god knows what potent alcoholic concoction, Blaine slowly worked his way through the room, stopping to say hello to a few students he recognized from class, but mostly admiring the handiwork and imaginative costumes many folks had come up with. He was just about to go up to a young woman who had amazingly crocheted an entire King Bowser costume when he was jostled by a roaming drunk band of actors in Hamilton outfits, reenacting one of the numbers from the show.  Blaine cursed under his breath as he lost his footing and stumbled into someone behind him. Blaine’s hand had jerked upward as he fell to the ground, causing the contents of his cup to fly into the air and land on him and his unsuspecting victim behind him. “Hey, what the hell?!” a voice behind him shrieked. Blaine struggled to pull his cape off of his head, which had fallen there as he took his embarrassing spill to the floor.  Once he did, he found himself staring upwards at the most beautiful man on earth.  Who was extremely pissed off. And dripping wet. “Oh, my god,” Blaine said as he quickly got to his feet , nearly slipping in the puddle of his drink and falling down once again.  “Oh my god.  I am . .I am so . .so sorry.  I didn’t mean to . . . I swear those guys . .  .” “Are assholes!” The beautiful stranger yelled off in the direction of the roving drunken students many of whom laughed out loud and threw both Blaine and him the middle finger. Desperate to make things right, Blaine (ever the fix-it guy) began taking the edge of his cape and using it to pat dry the other man gingerly.  The stranger was dressed in a very form fitting black shimmery body suit that hugged every inch of what appeared to be a lithe, trim figure.  A gold belt rested low on his hips, accentuating the stranger’s shoulder to waist ratio.  A necklace of golden medallion sat upon his chest and in his upswept chestnut hair peeked a pair of black cat ears.  Leather knee-high, lace up boots and a menacing black leather whip finished off the ensemble. It was both electrifyingly sexy and intimidating at the same time.

Story 1- Wedding Planner Kurt and Best Man Blaine have to work together to keep a wedding between feuding families from turning into a brawl while fighting off the advances of the bridesmaids and the Groom's handsy gay cousin. THIS STORY IS FULL. Sorry, but there are no open slots. Posting will be October 8.

Story 2- Prompt- 11.-Character A is widowed, left to raise two young children on his own. When it’s least expected, someone from the past comes back into their life. But things aren’t all that they seem, and falling in love again is the last thing on his to-do list. This story has one open slot for Nov. 6- Nov. 12.

Story 3-  Ten years after graduation, the Warblers have a reunion at Dalton (There was no fire in this AU, Dalton still stands). Kurt never told Blaine he thought it was him that Blaine was going to serenade that Valentine's Day, and Blaine never figured out his feelings for Kurt. Now during the week-long reunion, the other Warblers decide it's time to get the two of them to rip off the blinders and finally admit their feelings for each other. This Story has the final slot open for the week of Feb 25- March 4.

Story 4- Kurt and Blaine are leaders of rival show choirs. Blaine is the leader of the Warblers and Kurt is the leader of the New Directions. They’ll be facing each other in the next regionals and the stakes are high. It’d help if their teams weren’t at each others’ throats at every turn. Unbeknownst to both of them,  they are both bloggers on a popular show choir blog, where they rant and pour out their hearts to each other. Enemy to Lovers Fic. Break out the stick, because the mind wants what it wants and I wrote this for a possible Klaine in Slovenia fic:

“I love you.”

To most people, the combination of those three words is one of the most beautiful things in the entire world. It fills people with exuberance and happiness.

But to Blaine, it only fills him with dread.

Quinn is looking at him with an expectant look on her face. She’s giving him time to say it back.

But he can’t.

When Quinn realises, her face betrays her anxiety for a split second, but just like Blaine she’s been taught to school her expression and surpress whatever she’s feeling. So instead of calling Blaine out on it, she kisses his cheek and walks away.

Yes, I am still somewhat working on aap noot mies and yes I am hopefully finishing the art for the 321 Prompt Bang Fic this week (or at least finishing it up enough for the submission, I am down for the details if the author has ideas and what not). Yes, I also have the Frankenfic lined up and the Carry On Prompt challenge. 

A lot of people found the “girlbossing too close to the sun” very funny and I agree, although I do have to point out that I got it from Thirst Trapped by @facewithoutheart​, a must read. Ever since Niall texted that, I knew I had to incorporate it in my every day speech.

Canon Divergence before S3: during the summer (while Blaine is performing in amusement park) Kurt and Brittana sing in Scandals (I don't know if it's legal in reality, but this is fiction so yes, it is). When Kurt and Blaine meet with Sebastian there, the trio have a performance. Klaine break up (Blaine didn't know about Kurt's job - because he wasn't listening when Kurt tried to tell him about it - so he gets mad, or "the parking lot" scene happens and Kurt breaks up with him, or something else), Kurtbastian is an endgame (they can go from Barely Enemies to Lovers or from Barely Enemies to Friends to Lovers or from Barely Enemies to Friends to Friends with Benefits to Lovers or from Barely Enemies to Friends with Benefits to Lovers - whatever you prefer). *** I came up with this idea while listening to Ke$ha's "Take it off". The picture I had in mind: girls start singing by themselves. The drag queens get some random guys - including Kurt - on the stage to take off their shirts and pose; during the bridge all of the girls are surrounding Kurt and by the end of it they tear off his clothes and he ends up in a costume that matches Brittana's attires. They finish the song as a trio. I would love to see what others will come up with and what songs they will use :D
