There is something to be said about the connection one has in a long distance relationship.

The way you can sense when the other is waking, or when the other is having a tough go at it or even when the other is doing something that brings them enjoyment.

But that connection, once lost, brings in its place a sense of loss that is akin to grief. In a sense it is grief, in a manner or form. The shade that begins to creep in is akin to an eclipse with no end in sight.
