Open Starter: @Kismet Harbor's 100th Annual Winter Festival
Jade was excited for the Winter Festival, she loved this time of year. The cool weather, snow, Christmas, the lights.. everything. In Arizona it got cold and neighbors decorated but nothing like this. She had on her warm sweatshirt and was walking around with a smile on her face. She stopped watching the gingerbread house contest, knowing that if she was to make one it would look like one of her preschool students did it. Jade was lost in her thoughts that she didn’t notice someone trying to get her attention.

Settling in Kismet Harbor had definitely been life changing to Brody without him even realizing it. Going to therapy had been helping him out a lot with working on the things he had bottled up since he was a teenager and for the first time ever, he had his own place. He got himself a trailer at the trailer park in town around where his brother and sister-in-law were staying and even got a job at the marina working as a fisherman. While it wasn't something he wanted to do again, the weather wasn't that bad in Oregon and so far, the metal in his leg hadn't hurt once.
He had even made a new friend in Rory Jackson. The two had hung out a few times and Brody found himself really enjoying her company. Outside of his brothers, the woman had been someone he wanted to talk to all the time and now he even found himself at the winter festival in town just to do that. They had met up a little bit ago and were walking around when Brody spotted a game. "Serious question: would it be considered cheating if I played the fishing game and won?"

"Listen man, I'm telling you. This is the best thing you will ever do. Other than having sex I mean. Nothing beats that but this is a close second." Finn laughed, grabbing the tube and running up the small slope to the top. "I promise that if you do this, I will make you a coffee. Or three. Maybe even dinner." He offered, looking over at him before starting to pout his lip. "I'm not above begging."

Open Starter: Kismet Harbor's 100th Annual Winter Festival
Ryder decided that instead of going back to his apartment alone and just binge watching some tv shows or flipping through his phone, that he would check out the annual winter festival that was happening. There was a lot to do and he was sure that he could have a better night than just staying at home. He walked over to a booth selling some hot chocolate, making sure to get some before checking out the different games they had. “Ooo ice fishing and snow tubing. What to do first so many choices.”he said out loud.

Nicole couldn't believe she was doing this. She couldn't believe she had let Matt set her up on a date and yet here she was doing it. Ryder was with her brother and she had dressed up a little for the date, but not too much since her and the guy, Orion, were going to be at the winter festival. She had agreed to meet at the food stations and she was pacing a little bit as she waited for him. Spotting him, or so she thought, she walked over and smiled a little. "Hi. Are you Orion?"

Sera loved Christmas. Then again, there wasn't a holiday that she didn't like. She was all about the celebration and party aspect of it all. It all came from her love of having a good time. This year was definitely going to be something different, though. She wasn't going home for the holidays. Her parents had asked her to, but after they cut her off and her whole family giving her a hard time for wanting something different for her life, she had decided to stick to Kismet Harbor for the season. She had decorated the apartment with Waverly and now with the winter festival, she was so excited to look it all over. She had grabbed a few gifts to send out to her family, though, and then some for Waverly and even Mateo. Speaking of who, she spotted as she walked along and smiled at her boss. "Hey. I was starting to think you didn't leave the bar." She teased him a little bit. "It's good to see you on the outside."

Who: @alinaceyhan and Ricky
Where: Winter Fest, Games
When: December 2024
"So, I was thinking we play some games and really build up our appetite before we grab food, or we could build some wreaths or make some ornaments first instead?" Ricky asked as he slid his hand into Alina's, linking their fingers with one another. "Or we could take a photo with Santa before the crowd gets here?" He didn't care what they did, he was just happy to attend the festival with the love of his life.

"Ooh that's so pretty!" Alli spoke, pointing at a frosted teal ornament that was directly in front of the other. "Do you mind handing it to me? Of course if you're not using it." she smiled. She looked down at her wreath for a moment, using the opportunity to tie the bow a little straighter, making sure it was the perfect fit before she looked back up again. Wreath making wasn't her specialty but, she was using the same skills she used for jewelry making to prefect it, and surprisingly it was working out quite well. "I can't wait to finish this and make some ornaments too. Maybe even make another wreath with the ornaments I make, I think that'll be fun."

"You sure you don't want one?" Carter offered from the packet of churros he had bought just before meeting up with his sister. “I promise I’ve only licked half of them so far. Don’t say anything in case we bump into Cisco though—“ He snickered, though it obviously wasn’t true. It had been had he still been a kid, but one thing he’d never grow out of was trying annoying his older siblings.

"Are you enjoying the photography classes so far?" He asked the other before raising his glass of mulled wine to his lips to take a sip off of it. He had personally never been a fan, but it was the holiday season after all. "I hope I am not boring everyone with too much theory. You can be honest, I won't be offended." He told him with a small snicker. "That is of course, unless you hate it."

"Maybe I'm looking too far into this, but, does this ice fishing thing feel rigged to you?" Arlo questioned, watching the ones around them, mimicking their actions as he tried his best to catch whatever it was he was supposed to be catching. He'd heard that it was a 'tiered prize' game, and while he'd been doing this for the better part of an hour, Arlo couldn't help but notice that the father and son to his left had won the bigger prizes three times in a row. "I'm not the most skilled when it comes to fishing, but, honestly Mr. George and his son have won at least three of the big gifts in the last half an hour. Seems a little messed up don't you agree?"

With her hands wrapped around her peppermint hot chocolate, Verity looked over at her friend while walking alongside her at the winter festival. "Got any plans for Christmas?" She asked her out of curiosity, still not sure what she was doing herself. "You going somewhere, or staying here?"

After finishing up at work for the day, Marcel had driven past the winter festival on his way home and decided to stop. He hadn't been yet this year, and he figured he might as well try it now while it wasn't overly crowded. After walking around he eventually stumbled upon the Jingle bell toss and decided to get in line for it. Watching the people in front attempt to throw the bells into the cups make it seem a lot harder than he had hoped it would be. "Damn, what are those bells made of? Lead?"

"I have to admit, I think I was a child the last time I built any kind of anything snow related, much less a snowperson." he admitted, looking at the other as he adjusted the Santa hat that was on top of his head. Josiah could be pretty festive - granted that's why he was wearing a Santa hat to a snowperson building contest - and he could also be competitive, but he wasn't here to build the best, he was just here to have a good time. "I'm all for doing whatever you feel is best, or we can wing it." he shrugged. " I just know I'm more here for the fun of it and less for the competition. Trust me, if you want to be here for the competition I'm likely not the partner you want to stick with." he chuckled. He'd been a little shocked there had been a 'partner' mode when it came to building the snow people, but, Josiah didn't trust himself to be able to do one successfully on his own; he only hoped the other hadn't only been paired with him out of fairness of the competition. "You do this a lot or are you a first time builder yourself?"

"Come right up to see Santa!" Chantel called, encouraging the child next in line to step forward to join Santa for a quick meet and greet along with a photo. She'd ordered this elf costume online for an event at Davis' Farms and it had come in handy when she'd agreed to volunteer to help out with Santa photos for the festival. She'd been standing in the line, watching the children as they made their way through, and she looked up offering a passerby a small smile. "I don't know if you're good with kids but we could always use another hand around here."

Nicole looked around as she stood in line with Ryder in his stroller, waiting to see Santa. She had invited Rhys to join them and she was going he'd show up before they got up to see the Christmas icon. Last year, Ryder was so tiny that he didn't realize what was going on, but now he was just over 13 months and was more aware so she was excited to see how he'd react. Finally spotting her son's father, she waved over to him and smiled as he approached. "Rhys, hey. Did you bring the camera?" She asked curiously, knowing while they did pictures with Santa, she wanted Rhys to take one or two as well.
