One of the most challenging parts of being on reality tv for Aliye had always been the aftermath of the shows and dealing with the small level of social media fame that she got because of it. Though she mostly stayed away from spending much time on it, she at least tried to capture a few photos now and again to put out there as a way of keeping herself relevant for the next time casting was putting together their list of calls to make. Hanging out by the apple bobbing game, Aliye had set up what she thought was a cute photo setup, her head tilting a bit to look at it from another angle. It was at that moment that Rhys walked by, something Aliye decided to attribute to some level of divine intervention, as who better to drag into her activity than the photographer himself. "Rhys! Professional opinion here. Am I doing too much or is the set-up for this photo going to make me look absolutely amazing?" she called out, hands gesturing towards the area she'd been working on for her fall aesthetic photo.

... on another note, though, i'm really happy that i'm getting better at standing up for myself and handling conflict. because being kind is important, but sometimes you gotta be a bitch and that's life! i was rereading something i sent a friend years ago regarding a conflict i was having at the time, and i was astounded by it lmao like... oh my god. my dude. you have very good reasons to be upset and it's okay to say "i'm mad at this person" without adding a million disclaimers that it's probably not their fault!!

i'm a good listener. when people are having a hard time and need someone to talk to, i'm good at like... just offering a listening ear. i may not always have advice but i can generally listen and chat and help someone talk through it if that's what they need.

i was obsessed with these books a completely normal amount as a middle schooler (lying). something about this like... charming middle-aged professor who keeps finding himself in the middle of massive conspiracies usually related in some way to religion and frequently having his life put in danger? and saves the day by being a fucking nerd? what a dude!

if you were there for my rdr2 fixation (which most of you definitely weren't lmao) then uhhh yeah <3 genuinely i had a huge crush on this character and was so obsessed with him for so long. the yearning was out of control, folks. i do still have a lot of fondness for him, but tbh some not-so-fun interactions in the fandom really put me off of the whole series for a while. he still means a lot to me though!

had to list at least one woman lmao- but yeah i really love evelyn. she's such an incredibly written character and every time i reread (or. rather. re-listen to) the series i actually get a little choked up because her narrative is so *fascinating* and well-done to me. like wow we love a tragic cringefail woman who has to face her own mistakes and become better, not just for her own sake but for others'!!! and face the fact that her fuck-ups hurt more than just herself!!!

evelyn is one of the many characters i'm considering for the horror multimuse i talk about sometimes. and maybe i'll even let her stay a cis woman- i'm kidding ASDFJKL; but like. fr. we'll see.

charlie kelly - it's always sunny in philadelphia

honorable mention for the trashiest man i'm currently thinking about lmao- so i started watching iasip because i wanted to see the insanity for myself and. wow all of these characters are terrible. but god it's so fun to see them in action. and charlie is by far my favorite. he's illiterate. he drinks paint. he eats cat food for fun. he's an artist. he makes a living beating rats to death with a stick. he's a wet paper bag of a man. he's very deeply traumatized and doesn't realize it.

When I’m Saved (Part 2)

“The press looks horrendous,” Agent Jareau says, looking out towards the front of the hotel as the team exits their SUVs. “Ah, Lieutenant Kim.” 

“Agent Jareau. Rossi, Reid, Prentiss. Where are Hotchner and Morgan?”

“They retired. These are Agents Simmons, Alvez, and Section Chief Cruz. We have an Agent in Peyton with Dmitri’s father,” Agent Prentiss answers. “How is the group coping?”

“We should get inside.” The lieutenant says, escorting the team into the hotel’s back entrance. “The hotel has been placed on lockdown, only law enforcement is coming and going. We’ve questioned all of the kids and the chaperones. Some of the kids are devastated, some are pleased that Dmitri is gone. The kids are in their respective rooms, and the chaperones are in the Monterey ballroom. The girls are in Room 407 with the colour guard staff and two chaperones, officers have been stationed outside the room.” 

“Pleased?”

“Dmitri isn’t so well accepted outside of his friends. One of the kids in his grade claims Dmitri broke his nose, and other kids have backed up the story. Dmitri has also been the subject of a few harassment incidents in school. Here is a list of people that know Dmitri the best.” Section Chief Cruz takes the list and scans over it.

“How is Mr and Mrs Tremblay taking this?”

“Mrs Tremblay hasn’t had much of a reaction. Mr Tremblay is angry about everything, but has cooperated. The colour guard staff, Dmitri’s direct coaches, are taking it very hard.” 

“How is the colour guard taking it?”

“Most are sad, confused, angry. Some of them don’t see Dmitri favourably. One is exclusively regarding to Dmitri as Rhys.” 

“One of them was a next-door neighbour?”

“Yes, LeAnne Owens. Dmitri was a friend of hers before they moved away into a neighbourhood that suited their Mormon beliefs more.” 

“Religion? Peyton’s separated by religion?” Agent Prentiss asks. 

“The town is mostly Mormon, a church on nearly every block in the downtown area. Those who aren’t Mormon aren’t treated very well once the others find out, apparently. Dmitri has been shunned for a few years, most kids only interact with him during group projects.” 

“They probably took advantage of him because of his intellect,” Dr Reid comments. “Dmitri’s IQ is apparently one hundred and eighty seven. Autistic individuals tend to be more excluded by their peers and have troubles relating to neurotypical peers. The other kids would likely not understand how he functions and behaves, and he would struggle to maintain friendships. He would likely just think they were being his friends and not be able to see that other people were manipulating him to get what they wanted.” 

“Our command center is in the La Paz ballroom. We have five officers monitoring the tip lines, and the media has been running broadcasts since one am.”

“What have the media been saying?” Agent Jareau asks. 

“We told them that Dmitri disappeared, and that anyone who might have seen what happened to him should call the hotline. We haven’t confirmed or denied that Dmitri was abducted, but it’s starting to look like that’s what happened. Park search came up empty, we issued an Amber Alert for Los Angeles and the neighbouring counties around three am, stressing that Dmitri’s health is fragile. Free coffee in the lobby, but warning, it’s as bad as our station coffee.”

“Matt, Reid, go up to Room 407,” Agent Prentiss says. “Ask very specifically about what happened last night and our unsubs. Ask them if Diego or Jacob could have taken Dmitri. The adults may not know about what happened, so tread carefully. Luke, you and Rossi should go to the Monterey ballroom and talk with the Tremblays, Mrs Mellencamp, Mrs Kilburn, and any other chaperones that interacted with Dmitri yesterday. JJ, Cruz, and I will set up in the command center, touch bases with PG and Tara. We’ll text you any new information that comes in. Mobiles on. Head out.” 

“Sanchez. Escort Agent Simmons and Dr Reid up to Room 407,” Lieutenant Kim says, stopping a passing officer in his tracks. “BAU. They’re going to question the kids.” 

“Of course. There’s only one functioning elevator in this hotel, but staircases in every corner. Come with me.” The buff Asian and the pipe cleaner with eyes break off from the group, heading back towards the nearest staircase.

“Only one elevator?” Agent Jareau asks as the team follows the lieutenant towards the lobby. 

“Yes, only one. If they couldn’t grab the elevator, the kids would drag their things up the staircases. There wasn’t much comment on Dmitri’s mobility, but Mrs Kilburn did share with us a picture of Dmitri in the Main Street USA parade.” Agent Prentiss squints at the picture and takes a picture of it with her phone. “What is it?”

“Look at the way his left hand grabs the pole vs how the others in the picture are holding the pole, and how his smile droops on the left side of his face.”

“What does that mean?”

“The right side of the brain controls the left side of the body, it looks like that’s where he took the most damage. Look at those transition lenses.” Agent Alvez points to the glasses in the picture. “Those would hide a drooping left eye.” 

“This is the Monterey ballroom,” Lieutenant Kim announces, pushing the door to the conference room open. Agents Alvez and Rossi nod and pass through the door, closing it behind them. 

“Excuse me,” Agent Rossi asks, approaching another officer. “We’re with the FBI, and we’re looking for John and Amy Tremblay.” The officer points towards an older, balding man and an older woman with red hair holding his hand at a table. “Thank you.” The Italian Stallion and the buff, steaming mug of hot cocoa then head to the table, Agent Rossi sitting across from the couple. “Mr and Mrs Tremblay, we’re Agents Rossi and Alvez with the FBI. We’re a few of the agents helping to find Dmitri.”

“FBI?” A woman with dark curly hair asks, ending her hushed conversation with a woman with red curly hair.

“Yes, ma’am, FBI. We have a few questions about Dmitri. The more we can understand about his behaviour, the more we can figure out what happened to him and how to help him. Who might you be, ma’am?” 

“I’m Jill Mellencamp. I assist with band finances and keep all the records. This is Connie Hiratsu, she’s one of the chaperones.”

“When did you last see Dmitri?”

“Nine pm. He was with his friends, leaving Splash Mountain,” Mr Tremblay answers. 

“What was he wearing?”

“Our grey shirts we gave the kids, rainbow shoes. A rainbow bowtie, rainbow ears.”

“Interesting attire. Do you know of anybody Dmitri would know here in Los Angeles? Did he tell you he was meeting up with anybody?”

“No,” Mr Tremblay answers, his piecing blue eyes beaming through the agent in front of him.

“Has he ever been caught speaking to strangers?”

“This one time, last year, I had found him after our halftime performance, and a tall man was holding him while he was crying. I separated them and had our drum major and seniors watch over Dmitri. He did not tell me why he was upset or who the man was.”

“He knows better than to talk to strangers. He’s in high school, he knows the rules,” Connie argues. 

“Connie. He’s hurting right now. Arguing about it isn’t going to help him.” 

“Are you guys going to tell them how much trouble he is?” She retorts. 

“Connie-”

“He threw a water bottle, had a tantrum, and screamed at me, like he was a toddler. Was I supposed to just let him represent our school and organisation poorly? Other people might think we’re snobs if they saw that-”

“Mrs Hiratsu. What exactly was happening?” 

“He was upset, and he threw a water bottle at the ground, and I told him that high schoolers don’t throw things, and he wouldn’t calm down or tell me what was going on. He was throwing a tantrum-”

“Connie. Loud noises and crowds stress Dmitri out. He was freaking out because he didn’t have his ticket into the park and he couldn’t find Ressa Kilburn, so I had him go through the security checkpoint with me and my family, and afterwards, he ran away, but he came back to the group after a few minutes. Mrs Anderson told us she went to talk to him.”

“He aimed it at the ground or at someone?” Agent Alvez asks. 

“At the ground, but it shouldn’t matter. He was acting out of line.” 

“Mrs Hiratsu, Dmitri has autism, and he gets overwhelmed and shuts down. Now when he shuts down, he might be aggressive or defensive, throwing things or screaming,” Agent Alvez replies. “Him aiming the bottle at the ground is better than if he aimed it at a person. It means that he is semi-aware of his surroundings in his state, and he is empathetic and doesn’t want to disrupt things.”

“Then why would he do that?”

“He doesn’t want to do it, but he just does. He probably feels embarrassed that he reacts like that.” 

“He is rather empathetic. If you raise your voice at him, he’ll think you’re mad at him, and then it takes forever for him to get that you’re not mad at him. He always thinks Jill and I are mad at him.” 

“How is he, socially? Does he get along well with the other kids?”

“Yes, I do, but he’s practically the same way. He gets really embarrassed to have to talk in front of other kids, just almost shuts down, he starts stammering and stuttering and panicking.” 

“He wouldn’t tell anyone if there was something wrong.” 

“Exactly. Nick, Lily, and Arthur have better luck getting him out of his shell, but he still doesn’t ask for help unless you start the conversation. I can see it when it’s just the guard, but I don’t know how to explain it. He laughs more, smiles more with them. Nick and Lily tell me that he actually reaches out to the new guard kids, which is unheard of.” 

“Could any of you tell us how Dmitri changed after his last concussion, three weeks ago?” Agent Alvez asks. 

“He smiles more, laughs more, asks more questions. He’s definitely more outspoken, but he falls asleep everywhere. I don’t know how he falls asleep on the school bus seats, but he does.”

“I caught him sleeping in the doorway one morning during musical theatre class. He’ll just take little naps during class. He seems to be a lot dizzier, falls a lot more.” 

“Yes. He falls when he laughs, and since he laughs at everything now, he always falls. He’s been walking around with hoods up, headphones on, using the walls as supports.” 

“Do his eyes glaze over? Does he eat enough to compensate for the high activity levels? We noticed he’s smaller than most.” 

“The nosebleed. Do you think that was anything serious?” 

“He acted like it was,” Connie asks. 

“A nosebleed?”

“He bled out all over the boys’ bathroom once, and it took half an hour to get him to stop bleeding. He was accepting the sugar we provided him, but he freaked out once we mentioned afrin, wouldn’t let us give it to him, he thought we were going to give him aspirin. He couldn’t figure out what was happening to him, and he was texting his grandparents.” 

“Okay, okay.” The four adults fall silent, appearing to hold a lifetime back. “Thank you. We’ll come back if we have any more questions.”

AU: The Masquerade

An AU that takes place in the Vampire The Masquerade setting. Each of the muses listed below has been sorted as a member of a clan associated with the Camarlilla: the holders of the status quo, with the intention of maintaining the masquerade and masking the existence of Kindred (vampires) and hiding it from the world. Each clan is a family of sorts with their own quirks, weaknesses and distinctions. Threads in this verse probably won’t have much of a smut focus (despite the general nature of this blog I know I do other things too y’know ;) ) but it wouldn’t be out of the discussion. 

Ventrue (7): The politicians and executives. The leaders and influencers. The Warlords. The top dogs. They are considered the mind of the Camarilla. They are the authority. The blue bloods, so to speak. They take charge when needed, tend to see themselves as a necessity to maintaining both order and the masquerade, regardless of whether or not that’s true.. They tend to be adapt at management and leadership and as such, their lives tend to revolve around such things. A kindred won’t even be welcomed into Ventrue society until they prove themselves in said area of expertise, establishing their own domain of influence without aid. Their biggest weakness is their palate. Each Ventrue is only able to feed off specific targets and can only ingest blood from said targets alone (can only feed off of young men, can only feed off of rich women, etc.). They can’t have any other kind of blood, even when starving and in desperate need to feed.

Sophia Andrews (an agent, focusing on management. can only feed off of women)

Evelyn Vasco (Businesswoman, owns a club. Can only feed off of virile men)

Rhys Chapman (Businessman, owns a luxury hotel. can only feed off of women)

Dwayne Phillips (businessman, deals with electronics and energy, can only feed off of women)

Persephone Sweet (an agent, focusing on public relations, can only feed off of executives)

Electra Syren (businesswoman, owns a tech company, can only feed off of young adults (see Amber A) )

Isabel Delgado (a universal agent, focused on business, can only feed off of men)

Toreador (7): The artists. The social elite. The beautiful people. If the Ventrue are the mind of the Camarilla, the Toreador is said to be the soul. One of the most influential clans in the Camarilla as they have the greatest ties to the mortal world through social and cultural interaction. They can host anything from a high society dinner to children’s theater. As implied by the description thus far, they can most embody the idea of the vamp, one who can get by on sheer sex appeal. They tend to be up on the latest trends, when they aren’t the ones setting them themselves. By nature, art is the cornerstone of this clan. Of course, as per usual, the definition of what could be considered art varies from kindred to kindred. It could be a martial art, if could be painting, writing, graphic design. They could consider their body to be art in of itself. They can also be expert marksmen, incredible musicians, etc.. However, they can also be cult leaders, preachers, evangelists and the like. Their weakness is their fixation with beauty. They can find themselves distracted by something they find exceptional beauty to the point where it could be hazardous to their unlife. Their vision and sensitivity can hurt them as much as it can help them. As such, they can also find themselves prone to falling for mortals and other vampires. It can also keep them from reaching perfection in their art, which could cause them to lose interest in it. Despite this, they aren’t as brainless as one might assume and they aren’t to be underestimated.

Calvin Moss (he doesn’t really dedicate himself to art, appreciation for it aside. instead, he’s put his newfound “gifts” toward a goal he had before his embrace: becoming a cult leader. he’s organized his own flock of followers, all too eager to allow him to use them as a blood source)

Claire Simcova (her art is her body. a former model turned personal trainer. so you could argue that her art is fitness)

Malkavian (3): The madmen. The pranksters and lunatics. The seers and the oracles. They are bound by strange compulsions and perceive and articulate things in a manner different than most. Their jokes can range from silly to sadistic. Somehow, they’ve managed to remain as one of the oldest surviving clans, even being among the founders of the Camarilla. Barely a clan on the surface, a large number of them probably aren’t even aware they belong to one. Hell some aren’t even aware they’ve sired anyone! They tend to be tolerated at best, and even so, probably when they have enough self-control to refrain from violating the masquerade. While being embraced by a Malkavian guarantees insanity, they tend to embrace those who were halfway there to begin with. IF you see them muttering to themselves, they might be talking to theirself, or they can be in a conversation with another Malkavian, as they are all connected by a psychic link. Their madness of course, tends to be their biggest weakness. They are always guaranteed to suffer at least one derangement. That said, they can inflict horrible, debilitating insanity just as well. Be wary of the Malkavians. Dementation can destroy your very soul. 

Molly Frye (disorder: dependent, derangement: overcompensation/dependent personality disorder)

Aline Seidel (disorder: paranoid, derangement: memory lapses, paranoia)

Jacqueline Logan (disorder: borderline, derangement: antisocial personality disorder, berserk)

Brujah (6): The rebels, the anarchists, the poets and freedom fighters. A founding clan of the Camarilla, you can be forgiven for writing them off as just a bunch of thugs and street punks. You’d be wrong...for the most part. They’ve a lot more going on then given credit for, and they’re always willing to rally under and fight for what they consider to be a worthy cause. Some prefer to follow charismatic leaders, others prefer individualism. They’ll be glad for a chance to speak their mind, just as they will be a chance to wreck something otherwise. Their weakness is a hair trigger temper and propensity for being wrathful, which means it’s easier for them to fall into a frenzy. There tends to be little organization among them, and they tend to sire whoever they want, for whatever reason they want.

Their biggest weakness, is the effects of their frenzies. Any time they hit frenzy, they can grow more monstrous and beastall in appearance.

Nosferatu (3): The outcasts. The ugly. The spymasters and information brokers. They know your secrets. Perhaps among the most underappreciated, underestimated clan of the group. Perhaps best known for their appearances, which tend to be horrifying, grotesque or plain ugly. Often to the point where they have to reside in and travel through the sewers just to maintain the masquerade. Just approaching a moral can be considered a violation in of itself. But they are also adept at crafting and stealth. They can tame the animals that reside in the sewers. They managed to form their own society among themselves. That said, their mastery of obfuscate can still allow them a number of advantages, as well as a means of attempting to remain among society. They tend to embrace one of two groups. The first, is those looked down upon by society. Those who are down enough on their luck where being embraced by a Nosferatu would be considered a step up: the mentally ill, the homeless, vagrants, etc., out of a sense of kinship. They also will embrace as a means of punishment. Don’t be surprised if you run into a Cleopatra: a Nosferatu who was embraced as a means to punish them for their ego and vanity. They value clan loyalty immensely, often dependent on being supportive of each other. The embrace is very painful, harmful to their body, as their deformities would attest to. It’s lucky if they even manage to survive the process. The weakness should go without saying at this point.

Vita Sommer (an information broker before her embrace and a more effective, illusive one after it)

Celine Beauchamp (was embraced when she was homeless during a harsh winter. physical pain from the shift to unlife aside, she’s managed to adjust well enough. she’d devoted a fair amount of time to tending to “plants” and animal life in their territories. in this case meaning mushrooms and other fungi, rats, dogs, cats and the occasional sewer gator. very helpful with security for one’s haven)

Rhosyn Ravenwood (was embraced in part her sire wanted to prevent the Tremere from getting to her first.)

Lilith Cameron (was embraced as her sire had taken a liking to her. she’s since continued working as a blogger (though a different, more low key kind, and has taken steps towards being an information broker in her own right)

Nicole had spent the weekend moving things into her new place with the help of her parents. She had gotten her things from Gale's and started getting the rest of what she had in her parent's garage. It was definitely tiring and as Monday morning rolled around, she had barely fallen asleep since Ryder had a hard time getting to sleep and she woke by the hospital calling saying they had the results of the paternity test. After sleeping a little longer and letting Ryder rest, she finally got up and got some coffee in her before getting herself and her son ready and heading to the hospital. She wasn't in a hurry since she knew what the results were and honestly, she felt Rhys could wait a little bit longer. It was just after two when she walked into the studio with Ryder in a carrier. She told his assistant she was there before taking a seat and waiting for Rhys to come out.

HERE’S HOW IT’S GOING DOWN

1. Agree on a fanfic. (This is going to be the hard part.)

2. Get the script to David and Gillian. You guys, they don’t know what’s going on half the time anyway. And they will be so happy to have dialogue that makes sense.

3. Find a trustworthy man to direct. @h0ldthiscat​ suggests Matthew Rhys in a mustache. (kcat: “He would be like 'I've totally directed for this show before!' And Gillian would be like 'oh yeah, I remember you!'” FOOLPROOF)

4. Distract Chris Carter during the week one of his episodes is supposed to shoot. I recommend luring him through the woods to a magical surfing beach a la Nimue in Camelot. Please do not drown him. We don’t do that. Show him a nice time.

5. Get to work with David, Gillian, the script, and “Todd Johnson” or whatever name we select. No one’s gonna remember.

6. Once it’s in the can, get it to Fox before anyone is the wiser. We can always shuffle all the episodes around to cover our tracks. It’s going to make about the same amount of sense regardless. 

7. It airs! Mulder and Scully make out a lot and have emotionally fulfilling interactions, domestic sweetness and affectionate familiarity, a plot that involves them as people and is therefore engaging to the audience, subtle but beautiful angst courtesy of Matthew “The Americans” Rhys aka Todd Johnson, and a satisfying ending. David and Gillian never know that anything went awry but they may have the vaguely pleasant sense that their characters got some emotional closure. Glen Morgan is a little suspicious. Chris Carter blithely takes credit for the episode which is obviously a huge hit. Anne Simon cheers him on. People like The X-Files again and Fox makes money. Todd Johnson has a flourishing second career directing television in a mustache. Everyone is happy. Myassbrokethefall is released from her two-plus decades of torment and becomes a goat farmer in the Faroe Islands.

She keeps coming up with so many great ideas and I can’t help but admire her. 

@exolazarus another person that puts a whole lotta love into a mistreated character. Morgan is the cutest freaking nerd and I am so happy they decided to bring him to life in the way they did!!! (even tho they too tend to angst him a whole lot...but he is an angsty kid so)

@cyrokinetic-iceman the best Bobby i’ve interacted with before 10/10 they are amaaaaaaze. with a really interesting au version of Bobby (as well as a few canon Bobbie’s) they put such great care and work into him and it’s just amazing! 

also I wanna mention my friend who was the mun of one Rhys Brennan, an oc some of my followers may remember before his blog got deleted. This boy is so freaking amazing and such a great, well rounded character I still surprise myself when I remember that he’s not actually canon. So today I hit a milestone that i didn't think I'd make here on my little RP adventure here on Tumblr. Somehow I got 200 followers. 200! Ya all know I just RP Toad right? Anyway I am very much blown away and honored that so many decided to click that follow button.  Wish I could do something really cool for this like a giveaway or offer arts but sadly I can't. However I will do a shout out to some of the coolest RPer's I know and have the privilege of Rping with them. If you don't follow them, I highly recommend ya do!

First up is the very, very first person I contacted about doing a thread with. They are the lovely @i-am-the-bamf, A amazing Kurt rper! Thanks to them I have gotten to this point, they slowly encourage me out of my shell in contacting others about possibly RPing. They have also become one of my dearest friends. <3 We have so many awesome threads, we constantly toss AU's back and forth, and they are just really encouraging and never seem to go crazy when I suddenly share head cannons out of no where! They also have an OC blog @i-dont-bite that is a very cool little merdude who somehow has not drown Todd for the stuff he comes up with. I just love our threads together and if I had to recommend only one person, they would be it.

Next person is @blue-fluff-elf. They are a wonderful Kurt and somehow doesn't bat an eye when I back up a dump truck of angst on them. They are just all around fun, they really get into Kurt and I always smile when I see that I got a reply from them. They too have an OC blog, @soaringskyward for the harpy boy Nyph, who my lil toads adore (just got to squint to see Todd's adoration is all). Like I-am-the-bamf, they are a must to check out.

@avalanchiing  -This is a wonderful Lance! I don't interact with them nearly enough and if they had any clue to how many anon asks I send them of some of the weirdest asks that come to mind... I may scare them. But seriously they are a sweet person and they have Lance down so perfectly. Also great to know another Brotherhood Rper! So poke this boy (steal his ride)!

@survival-cfthe-fittest  -The fact they play Apocalypse should speak for itself. They do it masterfully and you can tell they do a lot of research into the character as well as those connected to him like his horsemen and the clones. Also something I really appreciate about them is being able to ask them questions, because I'll admit I am not very knowledgeable about Apocalypse, and they will answer to the best of their ability without making you feel like they are looking down on you for not knowing (we have all ran into those kinds of people at one point or another and it really makes you not want to know more). So to me this is a huge plus in interacting with them and their muses. They do Apocalypse very well, same for the other horsemen and I already adore Morgan and am enraged that they killed him in the comics. Bring him back Marvel. It's time for a new Apocalypse.

@cyrokinetic-iceman  -Now I would really never have thought of Todd being interested in the walking snow-cone or how they could even interact but it's been both surprising and fun. I love seeing these two interact and now wish they did so in the series. Like Kurt with Todd, Bobby and Todd are a recipe for some great pranks and a great time.

@orderisoutofstyle  -Klarion may not be part of the Marvel world but he would so fit in. Love the sass and Todd is very much attached to the witchboy. I recommend anyone to interact with this guy and see where you end up. It would be worth it even if you only become a scratch post to Teekl.

The drips are too full on, they don’t give the same structure they do something very loud instead of increasing subtlety.

Painting objects shapes  that aren’t about creating an alluring, inviting surface.

They wont be badly painted, just there to provide a tension between the mesmerising paint about perception/ light and space and some sort of the concept and context of the work. The work isn’t as simple as a surface that is read as a pleasing construction of space, it is also commenting on technology and social media becoming intertwined within nature and the world and that we are begging to experience this dichotomy of phenomena as one intersected reality.

Video games- as much escapism as drugs and social media.

Week in Karst

The week in Karst was extremely helpful, it gave me the necessary critical feedback I need ed from others as well as the time spent with the work at different stages of completion. Time spent with the work whilst not painting is part of my process and is a regular activity for me. However, the difference in analysing a painting in a gallery context, with it being raised on a white wall was drastically different to being with them at my studio.

The time in Karst gave me confidence and trepidation. I knew that the finished pieces ‘worked’ and really dealt with the pressure of the gallery space, and the unfinished paintings that hadn’t evolved with as much ease might struggle against the backdrop of a white wall if they don’t work as well. This is because the vulnerability of the work is enhanced by the gallery setting.

By using the time in the space to experiment with positioning and separation, I found that the paintings work well together and also stand alone and work. This testing has given me confidence in the possibility of not showing the working together, unlike I initially intended.

The way the paintings interact with the rest of my cohort’s work is interesting and something that only arose in the week.

I will continue to make my body of work with my own intentions at the forefront, however, when it comes to exhibiting the work, it will be in my own and the group show’s best intentions, to again experiment in the R.W.Y space in June, to see if the paintings are more impactful away from the other work or integrated in a more obvious way.
