🌻fennel: what are their kisses like? where do they like to be kissed the most? 

Ren's kisses always surprise you. He has such a serious look on his face most of the time that you don’t even realize when he’s going in for a kiss until he’s right in front of you, moving with such swiftness it feels like it’s done in an instant. He seemed to hesitate to linger on your lips, almost afraid of how his heart may feel if you’re the one to pull away from him, but he does enjoy being close to you so he can be convinced to stay a little longer.

He has a fondness for cheek kisses. They’re not too time-consuming, they can be done while quickly saying goodbye without anyone noticing, and you likely won’t see the pink on his cheeks by the time he’s finished whipping his face in the opposite direction. His cheeks are also very soft so you can’t say you mind giving him his favorite kisses either, having to hold his face in place if you wanted to plant more than one on him as he got overwhelmed from the intimacy quickly.

🌻forget-me-nots: what do they do to get their s/o’s attention?

Ren unintentionally relied on others to grab your attention for him. It wasn’t as though he asked for it nor did he mean to get into a relationship like this, but Gast was too nosy for his own good and Akira was too loud for his own good. The discussion of crushes ended with Ren having to sweat it out, going mute when your name is brought into the conversation and nearly leaving when Akira started to pry due to his own curiosity about your relationship. You were bound to overhear somehow, whether it was with you physically present or a friend of yours tuned in themselves, and it put the normally quiet Ren on your radar.

🌻red chrysanthemums: how long does it take for them to say ‘i love you’?

Ren is blunt, but he’s not someone who easily comes to terms with his feelings; it would take him at least a year to say those three little words with confidence. The last time he loved someone and held them dear he lost them in such a sudden way, he wondered if he had ever really dealt with that pain. He’s almost afraid that speaking those words out loud will send a signal to the universe to traumatize him yet again, and he’d rather break up with you than see you snatched away from him due to powers outside his control. You have to give him the time and space without getting offended if he doesn’t say it back (in the case of you saying it before him) as Ren just needed time to realize his thoughts were irrational and that, regardless of whether he spoke it out loud or not, he really did love you.

Getting an unknown letter on his bed was definitely not what he was expecting when he came back from patrolling the sector.

'Who put this, Victor?' He glanced around the room seeing that his roommate wasn't here. 'Well I guess I'll read it.'

A love letter? That handwriting looks familiar...

'Yours only, (name) ?' The letter ends.

He burst into shades of red after reading that. You loves him? Seriously?

Junior: Ugh, I still don’t feel 100% back yet after all that lying around…

Dino: We didn’t do anything for that entire time after all, but there’s no need to rush. I’m sure it’ll all come back eventually.

Junior: Ughh… I don’t get how Keith is so fast on his feet when he’s always slacking off…

Dino: Well, Keith is a pretty strategic guy. By conserving his energy, he can maximize his efforts using the least amount of work possible.

Junior: That’s insane…

Junior: Well, whatever. I’ll just start off with some jogging to get back into it.

Dino: That sounds like fun. I’ll join you.

Junior: Hey Shitty DJ, if you’re free, you should join us.

Faith: Thanks, but no thanks. We just got done with sparring.

Junior: Huuh, you’re tired already? That’s lame as hell.

Faith: Yep, you got me. I’m just no match for you, Ochibi-chan.

Faith: Although… not even you could beat the pollen despite all that energy. I mean, you couldn’t even get up by yourself to take a shower.

Junior: But whenever I’d try to go out, I’d somehow wake up in my bed again.

Dino: It must have taken all your strength just to leave.

Junior: I guess…

Faith: Now that you mention it, sometimes I’d come back to find you sleeping in your uniform.

Junior: I also had a couple of weird dreams around that time.

Dino: What do you mean by that?

Junior: Well there was one where I was saved by a lion that wouldn't shut up and just complained the whole time...

Dino: Ahaha, sounds like a picture book.

Junior: He wasn’t cute at all though. It felt kind of real actually the way he was roaring at me...

Junior: The next day I tried again but somehow ended up back in my bed like before… That time I had a weird dream about getting lost in a dungeon.

Dino: A what?

Junior: A dungeon, like in some of the games I’ve seen Gray play.

Junior: Whoever was playing this one sucked at it though. We kept circling around the same place over and over again.

Faith: Going in circles, huh….

Junior: I can’t remember any details about that one, but for some reason I feel like I met God…

Dino: You saw God in your dream…? Was it like a message or…?

Junior: Umm, not exactly. I just remember being super happy when I woke up.

Faith: (Knowing Ochibi-chan, this “God” can only be…)

Faith: (Aha, better keep quiet. I won’t hear the end of it otherwise ♪)

Gast: Well then, now that our patrol’s done, how about we stop by the bookstore on the way back? 

Ren: Ugh. Comics again?

Gast: Nah. I’m thinking of picking up a novel today. 

Ren: You? That’s unexpected. 

Gast: Haha! Replying to fan letters the other day was such a pain, you know? I figured it wouldn’t hurt to brush up on my reading now and again. 

That’s why I’d appreciate it if you could tag along and recommend a novel that even I might be able to read.

Ren: … … Fine. I’ll join you. 

Gast: Huh? That’d be a really great help but… … Do you have something to do at the bookstore too, Ren?

Ren: … … Yeah. There’s a book I want. I’ll grab it while I’m there. 

Gast: Well, that works out perfectly. Let’s go ♪

Gast: Actually, I’m thinking of reading a novel for a change. Ren here is going to recommend something for me.

Gast: Hm? Again today? 

Roy: Yep. He was here yesterday too. Isn’t that right, Ren? 

Ren: … … … Uh. Y-yeah.

Gast: Huh? Didn’t you say you had a book you wanted to get? 

Ren: Uh. There was something I forgot to buy. 

Roy: Wow. Even after buying close to ten books yesterday, you’re already back for more. You must really love books, huh?

Gast: Well, I don’t want to keep you from your work either, so we’ll just browse for now.

Gast: Well, here we are in the novel section. So many books… It’s hard to know where to start, huh~? 

Ren: Well, what kind of books are you looking for? 

Gast: Hmm, something easy to follow. Complicated plots are a bit much for me, so I’d prefer something entertaining over artsy.

Well, how about this book—The Door into Winter? It looks like something you might enjoy. 

It’s a classic Sci-Fi novel. The premise isn't complex, so it’s easy to get into and it’s got a solid plot. It’s also a common choice for children’s book reports. 

Gast: Oh, Sci-Fi, huh? I’ve avoided it cos’ the premises always seemed too complicated, but if kids can enjoy it, I probably can too.

Ren: And this one here’s a short horror story, but I recommend it too—The White Cat. The plot twist at the end is great. 

Gast: It’s nice that it’s short—but, uh, horror? I don’t dislike it, but right now, I’m in the mood for something more light-hearted. 

Ren: A light-hearted story… … In that case, how about—A Cat Am I? I’m not a fan of the ending, but it’s light and easy to read—

Gast: Huh? W-wait a second. 

Ren: What? 

Gast: These are all books about cats, aren’t they? Even The Door into Winter—it’s got cats on the cover!

Ren: … … It’s just a coincidence. Every one of them is a classic with an entertaining and easy-to-understand story. 

Gast: Hmm? Is that so? In that case, I’ll take all three. 

Gast: I’ll let you know my thoughts on them after I’m done ♪

Ren: Write them down. I’ll read it if it’s in the form of a book report. 

Gast: Haha, deal. By the way, aren’t you going to grab some books yourself, Ren?

Gast: Haha. It’s a fun and casual way to pass the time, you know? It’s just that it’s no fun to play alone, so I need someone to play against… …

Ren: … … If it’s just for a little while, I’ll join you. 

Gast: Wha—Ren!? You mean it!?

Ren: What’s with that reaction? 

Gast: It’s just so unexpected, Ren. You usually wouldn’t agree to play darts with me… …

Ren: Oi, are we going or not? Make up your mind.

Gast: No way, that’s the hardest part! If we’d played one more game, I’d probably have lost. 

Ren: Who knows? But I wouldn’t have minded playing another round with you. 

Gast: Hmmm~?

Ren: Huh? What? 

Gast: I was just thinking…  you’re being unusually social today, Ren.

Ren: … … That’s not true. 

Gast: No, it totally is. 

Um. Usually, when I invite you to do something, you hit me with a bunch of sharp responses like “Not interested,” “Not my concern,” or “Stop bothering me.” Those really sting, you know? 

Ren: Well, it’s because you’re hella annoying, that’s why. 

Gast: See! That’s exactly the kind of response I’m talking about!

Ren: … … Sigh.

Gast: Don’t get me wrong, I’m genuinely happy you agreed to hang out. However, if I’m really forcing you to do stuff you rather not, I’d feel bad about it. 

Ren: … … When I was delivering those letters, you went out of your way to help me with the route planning. I figured it wouldn’t hurt to return the favour once in a while. 

But I didn’t expect you to overthink it and call it me being “unusually social.”

Gast: Oh~, so that’s why, huh? 

Haha. Sorry, that was a mean thing for me to say earlier. I was just surprised you agreed to hang out with me—it’s rare, so I got carried away. 

Ren: Hmph… …

Gast: Hey~, would you mind hanging out with me for a little longer? Things have been so hectic lately, I could really use something relaxing. 

Ren: … … Something relaxing? 

Gast: I’d like to go spend some time with cats. That’s the ultimate stress relief, isn’t it? 

Ren: There’s no helping it, I guess. I’ll join you, just this once. 

Gast: Haha, thank you~ ♪

Ren: Hey. Let's get going already. 

Gast: Alright~ ♪

Oscar: Calm down, Asch. Sorry for interrupting. Will you be running too, Marion?

Oscar: Do you want to join us?

🌻daisy: what is their love language, both giving and receiving?

Acts of Service/Quality Time. Ren didn’t know how to be in a relationship, so physical intimacy didn’t come easy to him; you’d have to be patient and start slow before he’s comfortable with showing that kind of affection. But he also worried that he’d bore you when you hung out as most of his time was taken up by being a hero or training, which wasn’t very interesting to talk about after a while. He tried to keep himself busy by doing little things for you, always insisting on running errands for you or at least with you so you won’t be out alone.

Gifts. They couldn't just be any gifts as Ren wasn't easily won over, but cat-themed gifts were always the surefire way to his heart. You might hesitate thinking, no he couldn’t possibly like this, but you’ll find he always responded positively when you find him something both useful to him and cute. There’s a collection of cat mugs, all from the same company that seemed to release a new one yearly, that you had started collecting for him and you knew he looked forward to seeing the new design every time the year rolled over.

Ren doesn’t tend to get jealous at the drop of a hat. He trusts in you and you spend time together so he doesn’t think there’s a reason to be worried, but when someone comes at him in a gossipy manner about you it can affect him. If Akira happened to babble on about how you’re spending time with some other super cool hero it would give him the slightest tinge of jealousy, making him want to see you in the moment and reassure that you were still his. It’s silly to feel that way and he’s aware of that but he does seek some validation from you, just to give him a little peace of mind.

If you don’t soothe his jealousy he gets rather pouty, even giving you the cold shoulder when you try to figure out what was wrong. You’re used to Ren icing you out though and patiently chip away until he confided his troubles into you, proving again that he should’ve just trusted you from the start. You never minded soothing him because it was so rare for him to act like this, and someone who constantly kept his walls up deserved to relax his shoulders whenever the opportunity presented itself.

Ren would rather die with his feelings, biting his tongue whenever a moment became too sentimental as he knew he was likely to throw his heart on the table if he got caught up. You’d be completely blindsided by a confession from him purely because his hot and cold treatment of you would never have you guessing he had a thing for you; even if you had an inkling, looking at his body language and the things he said to you wouldn’t indicate he had any interest in you. Unfortunately, Ren didn’t have many people to confide his feelings in but Will, who remained vigilant of his childhood friend, offered a listening ear with the hope of encouraging Ren into inviting a little bit more light into his life.
