Falling asleep on the protags girls

A/n:I haven't done all the protagonist girls together in a while so you get this post while I work on other requests

Kaede akamatsu (drv3)

This girl is so sweet the moment she sees you've fallen asleep on her she'll pull you into her lap and start playing with your hair to make you relax more

She asks kirumi to bring her a blanket so she can put it on you so you can be more comfy

If you, for some reason, wake up, she'll just sing you a lullaby to make you sleep again. Even if you tell her you have to get up she won't let you until you have a restful sleep

After you wake up, she'll ask you about your sleep schedule and remind you that you can always come to her to cuddle when you're tired

"Sorry, shuichi, do you mind lowering your voice a bit? Y/n is sleeping, and i don't want them to wake up"

Sora(sdra2)

She finds it kinda funny and really cute, so she lets you rest on her shoulder while she continues her conversation

She peppers your face in kisses meanwhile, trying not to wake you up. You often do, though, but she still continues kissing you, which results in you just making out

She also pokes your cheek and runs her hand across your face while telling whoever she was talking to (mostly Yuki or yoruko) how adorable you are

She teases you about how cute you looked when you slept once you wake up and that you should do it more often

Teruko tawaki (drdt)

She blushes a lot but doesn't mind at all and lets you nap on her while side hugging you and admiring how cute you look like this

Somehow, right after you fall asleep on her, everything around you two gets way louder:your classmates suddenly start arguing, cars start honking at each other outside and other stuff, she's very irritated by this but still tries to not wake you up

She'll try to tone everything down, mostly glaring at the people around her and pointing at you until they quiet down

But if you do wake up, she'll feel very guilty and offer to go to one of your dorms to cuddle and help you fall asleep again

"Uhm? Oh, teru, did I fall asleep on you? sorry"

"No I'm sorry, I shouldn't have let you wake up, we can go to my dorm and cuddle if you want"

"Thanks, I'd like that, but it's not your fault, remember."

Sara chidouin (yttd)

She's a bit of a mix between kaede and sora in this situation. she thinks you're absolutely adorable and will let you sleep on her for however long you want

She'll either let you lean on her shoulder and stand guard over you (like a samurai), making sure that you're not disturbed

Or she'll pull you down on her lap and start massaging your head while giving you forehead kisses

Once you wake up she'll encourage you to sleep more like this as she thinks it's really cute

Oh no, she found tier-lists again | DRV3 version

❗WARNINGS❗: huge text, some negative opinions and spoilers !!!

Well…. Happy new year of Rabbit, ahah! 🐇🎄 I went missing again for a while ;) But it doesn’t matter, because despite all the difficulties and festive fuss, all these weeks I continued to play DRV3 – my progress reached the beginning of the 4th chapter since the last post... And oww, if you only knew how much I love a full-fledged playthrough, how many emotions have been received, how many thoughts..! It was to be expected that no Wiki, fan's articles freetime- or other events would replace this experience. And of course, the kind of information that I’ve been posting about myself a long time ago, and that (because of my love for such stuff) also included all the Danganronpa characters Tier Lists, became… a little bit irrelevant ^^” So now, in order to avoid any misunderstandings and to make my position clear to all passers-by, I decided to update the V3 related tier lists!

1st category, which has finally become more definite for me – female characters:

What was my problem? Well, I treated all DRV3 girls (except Kirumi and Tsumugi) in a sort of same-neutral way with a slight negative shade, but now I know how I feel about them.

First of all, I want to clarify one thing: although in the orange group all the girls seem to be in the same position, in fact, for me personally, they are located in TOP3 xD In other words, after Kirumi, my favorite girl is Tenko. I like Tenko more than I like Miu. But also I like Miu more than Kaede.

Yes, perhaps someone would find such a clear distribution odd, if not wrong… But I didn't signed the orange tier that way for no reason. I have clear reasons to «underestimate and compare» each of them. Everyone has some shortcomings that repels me more or less, so… OK, just read it, I’ll go right-left:

Kaede Akamatsu. Ooh, I'm like walking on thin ice right now, judging her in some way, because I’ve seen from the very beginning HOW MUCH 90% of DRV3 fans love her and how upset they are that she never managed to become the main character…

But, you know, I’m not upset and I’m not afraid to talk about it. Her action in the first chapter only strengthened my belief that Shuichi is in the right place. Yeah, I understand why Kaede can be loved. I also like her energy, enthusiasm, companionship, liveliness, positivity, belief in the best, the ability to quickly get it together and not give up (in this regard, she's similar to Kaito, and Kaito is my favorite male character)… And I’ve often heard the phrase like «Yes, Kaede has her faults – and that’s fine, it makes her just like real people». But you know, it’s one thing to love a character DESPITE the fact that they does wrong things in the canon… When, in the case of Akamatsu, she seems to me to be loved for EXACTLY what she did. I mean- come ooon, by the murder attempt she betrayed not only Shuichi, not only all her friends (who prefer to see through rose-colored glasses), but herself first and foremost! By saying «I believe in you», she still succumbed to the selfish desire to "save everyone", although Shuichi's plan COULD'VE worked in theory – and without any victims that Monokuma needs so much for his killing game. Kaede is considered strong, but I don't see a drop of strength, not a bit of heroism in her wilfulness "for others", cause all this time she could confess, tell about her concerns to the same Shuichi, but chose to remain silent, fearing that «no one would want to be friends with a murderer�� (selfishness again) and wishing at trial to figure out who's Mastermind in some unknown way. Overall, this foolish hasty action makes her interesting, right – everything would be okay if we stopped here… But I just can’t understand why she remains a heroine worthy of such blind compassion for so many people! 😩 She took on too much responsibility by agreeing to be the heart of the group, didn't handle with it, and on top of that, finally left it all on the shoulders of the survivors by making them promise her an unsustainable thing. For me, Kaede is a weak, insecure person who has pave the road to Hell with good intentions – and to some extent she admits it, saying repeatedly that she’s not really such a good motivator and that she’s highly susceptible to positive reactions from others.

Simply speaking, I like Kaede, but I can’t forgive her completely for the way she treated everyone (and Shuichi in particular) + I’m annoyed by the fact that the rest fandom are see her in the wrong light (we should take Kokichi’s assessment as an example – it has always been quite fair). It would be nice if Kaede could stay a survivor and go through a good arc of self-consciousness, admitting her mistakes and complexes. And also, to be honest, sometimes I’m both laughing and annoying by some of her carelessness / excessive curiosity, which she mostly exhibits in FTE's with her classmates (with Kibo, for example).

The next one is Miu. Weeell here, the reason that prevents me from fully loving her is obvious (perhaps) :’D But let’s start with her merits (in my view).

First, how Miu combines incredible self-confidence + rudeness with blatant cowardice when you just give her the slightest resistance – it's both amusing and interesting phenomenon. Seriously, she is a MASTER of giving funny (and often inappropriate) comments that will relieve any atmosphere! 😄 Plus I cannot fail to acknowledge how talented she is and how valuable her ingenuity is. And this intuitive ability to guess the right culprits based only on inner certainty… (if only she could find impenetrable arguments, she'd be truly golden-mind, ahah!)

However, it’s time to name the chief characteristic that pushes me away from her. That’s her vulgarity.

Don’t think anything wrong, these horny jokes and comments are mostly harmless. I wouldn’t mind saying something like that in a joke too xD But Miu's FTEs and Love Suit event… There’s a certain hyperbolic overkill here. DR scriptwriters EXTREMELY love to hyperbolize everything and in almost 100% of cases it leaves a negative impression. You just want to erase it from the memory forever. So, honestly, if it was a little less vulgar, I wouldn’t be so picky. For good, Miu could have opened up as a character even better (although I haven’t gotten to her death) and she, with that emotional jumps, needs psychotherapy (like almost any Danganronpa's child). I hope her true fans took care of that, yeap..~

And finally Tenko 💚 Honestly, I didn’t expect she’d end up being my second favorite girl :0 thought I’d be completely neutral… But she’s wonderful. Really. Sincere, devoted, heartfelt and generous, bold and cheerful – a real lifelike fountain of energy!

The shortcomings that were embedded in her just for meme (it’s pretty obvious if you look at most of her sprites) even all together are no match with the shortcomings I don’t like about Kaede and Miu. On the contrary, the fact that her misandry and excessive attachment to Himiko are imposed on the player – exactly allows me to ignore them against the backdrop of adequacy, which she demonstrates most often. Misandry generally seems to me insignificant, because at certain times she felt sympathy / respect for both Shuichi and Kaito (who is considered the most manly man). Yeah, she can be fiery, she can be weird and she even got really clingy to Himiko, regardless of her personal boundaries, but until her own death Tenko was in a continuous personal movement. She is another character who has earned a longer life, but was just unlucky… in every possible way.

Meanwhile, I’m getting to the yellow category!

It’s ironic that here I put the girls who remained among the few survivors, and they’re supposed to have plenty of time for me to like they, yeah..? ^^”

But no, I’m definitely gonna be a little biased. This is the case when the first impression turned out to be so negative that there is hardly exists anything to block it. At most, my attitude towards them will develop into completely neutral… And I’ll be brief, ok.

Himiko seemed to me either boring (due to her slowness, passivity, immobility and completely childish way of thinking) or completely useless (for exactly the same reasons) from the start. She is morally weak, easily susceptible to stress and manipulation. Yes, later she's rehabilitated; she grows over herself, becoming a little more active and emotional, but that only happens after Tenko’s death.

And Maki. Maki I like much more than Yumeno – she might well be in the same category as Tenko/Kaede/Miu. Most of the time, she means well. Her story is worthy of sympathy. But the character and personality… So prickly, cold and detached... Even after «Kaito’s therapy» reinforced by Shuichi’s help and belief in the second trial, she keeps. leaving. her crude. insensitive. comments. like she’s the only sane person who knows everything.

Yes, I understand that transformation/adaptation requires more time and it would be so much weirder, if she become a sweetie-deary in just a couple of days… But really, she can be neutral or at least a little empathic-respectful, while staying true to herself! I even read an article in which the author complained that Maki's crush on Kaito had ruined her personality. And even though I haven’t gotten to chapter five where their relationship (Maki's crush) blossoms, I can partially agree. In both her and Himiko's cases, characters development occurs mainly due to the influence/death of another character = a potential lover that doesn’t seem right to me. Anyway, if my first impression changes, I’ll let you know.

The last one – gray category (I remind you that it doesn't mean full-fledged hatred!)

Tsumugi and Angie… Okey, first of all, Angie went down a great deal in my eyes after chapter three. REALLY. A LOT.

Earlier, based only on fanworks, I thought - well, she's funny. Strange, silly, a little creepy, but in general, she seems amusing and pleasant, maybe she's even a sunshine..? But NO. Not for me, at least. I had no idea how manipulative, selfish, thoughtless and – I'm not afraid of that word – insensitive person she really is, that (as it turns out from her FTEs) just got used to getting away with anything, because she’s a preacher. Her way of recruiting a new student into the student council sect just underlines just how dangerous she could be – and those who think it’s cute actually fall into her trap :'^

But really, she either scared me or simply annoyed. Especially with that habit of changing decisions on the go, contradict any logic, and hiding her own desires/intentions behind the mask of the divine's dictates. I’ve seen theories that she’s actually brilliant, and all her decisions were to the benefit of her classmates, but I don’t really understand what makes its authors think like that. She always acted to please herself. And only.

My reaction to Tsumugi is less intense perhaps. First of all, I don’t like her because she’s a Mastermind, and I treat all Masterminds equally. Their philosophy and way of "having fun" are simply not close and incomprehensible to me. Second, she’s creepy too. I am repelled by her artificiality, her feigned "ordinariness" and affectedness with which she maintains this label in herself. I’m afraid to imagine what happens when her mask falls.

And now… Yes, it turns out that this post will almost half of my (I underline) personal opinion about female characters, ahah!

But that’s because I love ALL the male characters in DRV3. No exceptions. Just the different shades of my love – and that’s what I reflect on the tier-list о/ Adoration, maternal love, tenderness, compassion, respect… I can’t even highlight what I don’t like in someone of them, 'cause all of them are dorks and the sweetest one!! No offence, the heart wants what it wants! 💞

Which means, finally, I can show you a huge (and a last, I promise, aphph) list of my feelings about this or that pairings!

I don’t want to go into too much detail here and to be too much negative either, so I'll explain only those positions that are important or/and funny.

First of all, I’ve had a big change of heart about Angie, so it's about pairings with her too. I’ll start with the so-called «traffic light» that in my eyes almost broke into pieces. Seriously, they were always drawn by such faitful, sweet besties… I'm almost disappointed. What healthy friendship is possible in a Himiko/Angie relationship, when Yonaga only used Yumeno’s weaknesses without conscience, trolled her on her own show and imposed illusions?? What friendship is possible between Tenko/Angie, if Chabashira was starting to literally fear Yonaga’s permissiveness at the end + never adhered to her principles and ideas (and Angie was indifferent to her most of the time)??

Only Tenko/Himiko are stand out from this circle of bewilderment. I still haven’t figured it out, that's right. For now I’m inclined to think that it’s a bad idea – Tenko’s energy was not combined with Himiko’s impenetrable passivity from the very beginning, BUT! they’d have a chance if Tenko was still alive and Himiko kept trying to understand her (and Chabashira, in turn, would reduce the rush on her).

Next, Shinnaga, i.e. Angie/Korekiyo… *sighs* Honestly, despite their location in a more neutral category «I don’t know why most people think it’s a good idea» – I’m starting to treat them more like to NOTP. Yeah, I realize, a lot of people think they’re pretty similar. They are both creepy, to some extent connected with occultism, with culture; they have the opposite kinda sun/moon aesthetics and character's dynamic, but… Ship Korekiyo with a manipulative, spoiled girl, who is accustomed to sectarian power and that all her wishes are fulfilled without bickering..? Are you serious..? It’s literally the same as pushing him against his sister’s figure again 😣 Sorry, Shinnaga's fans, but this is a decision I can never understand .-.

And now to a more positive stuff! o/

(because by the time I explain why Saimatsu isn’t working either, Tumblr is clearly not ready yet ahah ;))

The platonic has changed a bit..~ I've basically added the category «good friends only» and quite seriously consider that many of these pairs of students are able to become friends. Especially I was pleased with some intersections between Gonta and Kiyo | Kibo and Kiyo, because Shinguji clearly lacks someone to share his interests (in addition to Rantaro and Shuichi).

But why Gonta and Kibo exactly? Well,

Korekiyo’s quite capable of teaching Gonta to be a gentleman from a cultural point of view

Gonta can always be interested in stories about bugs, and all Kiyo wants is a heareth disciple/listener

Kibo is interested in Japanese/Asian culture + all human aspects, in which Korekiyo is generally the main expert. [Yes, it may be difficult for Shinguji at first because of the slight robophobic prejudices, but he’ll get over it just by thinking about what a Kibo is really a delightful product of human labor!]

Of the girls, Kirumi and Tenko were included in the category of besties, as those whose personalities Kiyo most admired.

Kirumi herself finds Kiyo admirable (just read her thoughts about him on the Official Relationship Chart) + they are matched with temperament, love of similar aesthetics + she possesses such devoted, caring, "maternal" nature.

While with Tenko, as paradoxical as it is… Kiyo could discuss similar problems. This cloudy subject with inc*st and unhealthy attachment to a certain person… I feel like they could understand each other a little.

Kaede, for some reason, became the queen of the lesbian party for me XDD But really, she pays a lot of attention to girls at first acquaintance – she called Tenko cute, Tsumugi sexy (and get under her skirt), was kneeling before Miu (although they bickered each other a lot and measured by breast size lol). I just think it’s kinda fun!

And almost all pairings with Kokichi turned out either self-destructive or destroying the world xD With Angie and Tsumugi in particular, they would have made the apocalypse; and Miu, Tenko, Maki, Kiyo and Rantaro, in my opinion, will gladly line up "ready to rip off Ouma’s head" line. That's just the way he is..:-) Hard to understand, units can handle it 😅

But that’s where I stop! As you may have noticed, I REALLY love DRV3 cast 😊😅 Tier-lists are just the beginning – next I would like to present my thoughts about Chapter 3 and Korekiyo’s role in it..;) That's the subject when I can’t be stopped... thanks for your attention and until next time, ehehe! ~

I made a little ship chart a couple months ago for DR2 of my main/endgame ships and just now decided to draw out charts for the other games too!

You can so obviously tell that there’s a huge time gap between the art style fhdjkfd. I ship basically every character with others too, but this is what I imagine “canon” in any sort of postgame AU I develop in my head mainly, whatever the fuck’s going on with Miu gives me so much brainrot it’s unreal!! •He probably would have liked a warning beforehand, to know that you were going to make such a major adjustment to your appearance, however, he couldn’t care less

•He just wants you to be happy and comfortable with yourself

•Besides, he was sure that was a fun experience for you!

•Plus, you don’t look half bad to him, either!

•To be honest, Rantaro took you to a hairdresser and went with you

•Almost immediately, Kaito responded, his previous embarrassment washed away like rain pattering on a dirty window

•Gonta had found a moth in the house, and he wanted to show it to you!

•So, he searched the house for you

•You glanced over, momentarily pausing coloring your hair and giving a soft chuckle, leaning over the sink and letting your hand carefully rest on the counter

•“I’m coloring my hair, Gonta. I can change it into a different color for some time,” You explained patiently to him, seeing as he had never really seen dyed hair before

•Gonta, once he realized nothing was wrong with you, gave an excited smile

•You thanked him, a smile on your face as you continued

•Once it was finished, Gonta pulled you close to him and littered your face in tiny yet gentle kisses

•Korekiyo went with you to the store when you bought some hair coloring, a small chuckle escaping his lips as he offered to do it for you

•So, he sat you down, and began working on your hair when you got home

No need to worry anon I totally understand but since I already did a request that involved the Drv3 boys with a sick S/o or hurt S/o I decided to focus on the spicy bits and the boys getting sick. I hope that's ok with you anon and as usual if you don't go ahead and tell me and I'll fix it all up.

Rantaro

Rantaro normally was pretty mature when it came to taking care of you but when you had asked him for help with basically everything it made hard for him not to kiss and hug you.

You were so cute and reliant on him to the point that it was equally as cute as abnormal for your usual self.

He had just tucked you into bed when you decided that you didn't want to sleep and promptly continued to try to get up without him.

You didn't get very far before a dizzy spell took over your wave of consciousness making you fall flat on your bum.

As soon as he hears the sound of something falling, Rantaro rushes to find you on the ground looking teary-eyed.

He just couldn't take it anymore.

He helped you up and guided you to the bed, sitting the two of you down before he finally let his thoughts get the better of him.

He leaned down to capture your lips in his own, soon brushing your lower lip with his tongue to ask for entrance.

He didn't care anymore about the repercussions. He needed you then and there.

Too bad that by the time you were starting to feel better he came down with it too.

Ryoma

Ryoma doesn't like showing weakness ever so even if he was taking care of you when you were sick he'd be trying his hardest not to get sick himself.

No hugs. No kisses. Nothing.

Or at least he'd try to not give you anything but when you look at him with those puppy dog eyes there's no way he can resist.

Unlike Rantaro, Ryoma has a bad habit of giving into cute things and that means you are one of them.

He'd be trying to just change a wet rag on your forehead when suddenly, he'd be pulled into a hug.

Just why do you do this to him? Do you know what it does to him!?

He'd ponder your actions for a while before he'd just go "to hell with it". Getting sick isn't the worst thing after all.

That means he's going to reach up to cup your cheeks and pull you into a kiss, making out with you for as long as you both could go without breathing.

For all, he was concerned he only breathed you at that moment but he wouldn't ever admit it.

At that moment all he was going to focus on was you and the feeling of your lips on his.

Those thoughts are later cursed internally by him though as soon as he finds out he's come down with the same sickness.

Gonta

Gonta normally doesn't like to partake in things like making out but that doesn't mean it never happens I mean he was raised by animals. ;)

All jokes aside though, he would be stuck to you like glue as soon as he heard you were sick and would do anything to make you feel better.

Who knew that that'd include kissing though.

All you had to ask and next second he was caressing you in his gentle yet strong arms with his lips on his own.

He wouldn't intend to make out with you but at soon as you wouldn't let up he wouldn't be able to help but to give him.

A gentleman does anything for his S/o when they're not feeling well right?

It is innocent thoughts like those that somehow lead Gonta down a very "passionate evening".

Then one morning that same passion melts away into contracting the same darn illness you had.

Poor baby boy, he's a bit down after that since he thinks he failed you so you'll have to cheer him up even if you're still sick to help him out.

Korekiyo

Korekiyo isn't above wanting to gauge your reactions even in the most inappropriate of times but he's able to have to self-restraint.

This wasn't one of those times though.

So when you had uttered that you wanted him to give him your medicine through a kiss he had to contemplate it.

This was one of the times though that his better judgment did not come through for him as he quickly relented when he caught sight of your face red from your fever.

The human body was beautiful. Even the way that sickness worked had some truly exceptionable moments.

No other time would you be this needy for him so he couldn't stop himself from pulling down his mask, putting the medicine in his mouth, and then pressing his mouth hungrily against yours.

At the moment all he cared about was getting to gauge your reaction, to see how you'd melt underneath him and it'd only continue from there.

Too bad that it doesn't provide any merits of it's own in the end.

Instead, Korekiyo ends up sick as a dog like you.

Kokichi

Normally when you're sick, Kokichi will be a bit more prissy than usual not wanting to touch you when your all snotty but this time when you got sick you were saying the most hilarious things.

That meant there was no way he was going to ask Kirumi or someone else to take care of you. This was a great time to get some stuff to use against you later.

He didn't know that'd include you talking dirty to him from your bedridden state though.

He thought you were just gone but apparently, your mind was somewhere. It was in the gutter and his was going to join yours.

"So you really like my body that much, S/o?"

He might've started hesitant to touch you but all the talk between the two of you would just turn him on too much.

However, as quickly as he would get excited he would soon get sick.

Then he'll act like a brat and have an excuse to fall back on.

Beware of getting him sick!

Kaito

Kaito hates getting sick but he's one of the hastiest guys in this cast.

Whatever you'd ask he'd do so naturally when you asked for a kiss he'd go to give you one on the cheek when you'd grab him by his collar and pull him down with you into a kiss.

He would be irritable at first but as soon as he starts to get into it then he's gone.

He swore he was going to take care of you but he'd the one that is pulled into another way of taking care of you the fastest.

He'd also the quickest to catch your sickness though so then while you're sick you'd have to deal with him acting like a big baby and as though he were dying.

Another boy to beware of getting sick!

Shuichi

As the most logical out of this bunch it would seem that there'd be no way to coerce him into doing explicit things with a sick person but that wasn't the case tonight.

Tonight his thoughts got the best of him for the opposite reason.

For once, he felt sure that what he was doing was the right thing.

He'd simply have been trying to check up on you when you'd ask him to help you.

He'd accept without batting an eye when you'd suddenly tell him that you needed help with things other than your sickness.

He would be as red in the face as you when he realizes what he's got himself into but at the same time, he'd be excited.

You wanted him, even when you felt horrible that was what you wanted.

Knowing it would just make it too hard to hold back so he'd end up cupping your cheeks and pulling you into an awkward kiss until he'd start to loosen up.

Then there's no guarantee that things would stop for that matter.

Too bad his short-lived confidence would come to bite him in the butt by getting him sick too.

Another Danganronpa AU because I have a problem. Also because I've been reading a lot of time loop fics, don't judge me.

Whenever I go off on a tangent, I'll try to mark it with () or []

I've not managed to find one where Shuichi is the time traveler, but there's a fuckload of Kokichi. Yep, I'm actually including drv3 this time. A miracle. Let's take all the side antagonists, Byakuya Togami, Nagito Komaeda, and Kokichi Ouma. These little shits are uncooperative as all hell, but at least Byakuya is emotionally attached to his fellow survivers by the end.

Nagito and Kokichi both died, but for slightly different reasons, despite both trying to make an unsolvable murder.

Now that you know what characters I'm using, allow me to spill my ideas in a way that might not make much sense.

In all of their rooms, once they finish the first loop (canon) they find an extra tablet. That or an extra feature on the monopads. This allows them to chat with each other as they realize that they're all in the same situation.

Kokichi is already kinda attached to his classmates but paranoia and trust issues like to bite him in the ass. Nagito legit dies to try and kill all of them so he takes a while to come around. (Specifically after Byakuya ask Junko about the ultimate despair and why they follow her. "Manipulation and a hell of a lotta brainwashing!" Or something.)

Everytime they die, or finish the game wrong, the go into a blankness. Just an empty void that they stay in until the others also die/finish incorrectly. They all start the time loops at the exact same time, no matter when they finish.

Once Nagito gets aware of the goal (get everyone out alive) he tries it. He's the first to get out. Ultimate Luck and all that, also the fact that he was the one who initiated the murder.

I hear what your saying, "what about the fourth chapter" and to that I respond with what I remember from the game, "it's only real because you think it's real." If Nagito told them and convinced them it was virtual by then, they'd be fine. How'd he know it was virtual? He's already gotten to the end multiple times, just never with everyone.

That's enough about dr2 for now though, I talk about it too much anyway. Byakuya goes through his fair share of "fuck this" and is not ok. He and Kokichi both starve themselves before they realize the goal (they both realized during the same loops thanks to Shuichi and Makoto) meanwhile Nagito is fucking around because hey, what if I fuck with Fuyuhiko so much, he traps me in a tree and cuts off my fingers? Maybe that's the answer.

Look at the self-deprecating dumbass go-

Kokichi is trying his best, but he's really not sure how to pass the fourth or first chapters without someone dying. That's what most of his loops are, him dying while trying protect someone so he can get this shit over with.

Let's just say, Tsumugi often hits the gremlin child and the avocado. Once he figures out how to get past that (who knew bringing another person into the library would be so useful?) he's so fucking relieved because he can stop Kirumi a lot easier.

(Once they get past a motive with no death and then sleep, their progress "saves" so they don't have to keep doing it, and wake up in bed)

Byakuya is having a bad time, because there's Toko, but then Oogami, and oh fuck he forgot about Mukuro. Damn. Don't forget that Monokuma isn't above bending the rules! He'll gleefully execute the wrong person if their annoying enough.

The amount of times Byakuya got framed for murder and executed is so much higher than the other two, but it still happened occasionally. It happened to Nagito the least tho.

(At one point Kokichi fucks up and everyone thinks he's a girl, Nagito has to tap dance to distract everyone from murdering, and Byakuya is forced into gymnastics. Byakuya cussed one time in all of this, and it was when he first saw Makoto's dead body and Kyoko being framed. When he confessed this to the chat, Kokichi started spamming swears, which nearly gave Nagito a heart attack when he got online about halfway through.)

In this au, drv3's canon ending is bullshit because fuck that noise. As well as a little rewriting of dr3's future version. Byakuya is now an expert at doing stupid shit but no one dieing, so he does exactly that. He somehow wiggles into the meeting and (thanks to his painfully acquired chemical resistance) doesn't pass out.

He pretends to tho and basically breaks all of dr3 future version's canon. No one dies and Monica gets sent to Jabberwock Island where she freaks the fuck out at Nagito acting differently. Byakuya sighs as his time traveling friend tries to calm down a screaming child.

Of course, I went off on a tangent so here's drv3! They all get out, Tsumugi doesn't die (Kokichi learned his lesson about that already) and they get out, dragging a tied up Tsumugi with them.

Junko isn't dead either btw. Makoto is trying to reform her and kinda failing, but at least she isn't trying to kill him constantly.

[Her plans were always foiled by Byakuya cuz apparently he's still in the time loop. Every time someone (important) dies and he sees the body he wakes up that morning or yesterday with enough time to stop it. He's not sure why. The same thing starts happening to Nagito when he gets out, but they always loop together. Dr3 was a nightmare for Nagito, because he didn't know what was happening to Byakuya]

Kokichi steps out and finds that, instead of it all fading to black like normal, it fades to white. He smiles as it fades because that means he did a good job, even if he hasn't been able to talk to Nagito for seven loops or Byakuya for two.

Then he wakes up and finds them both standing over his hospital bed. (they sent pictures of themselves in the group chat) and it turns out that Junko had kidnapped them when they were children and forced them into multiple killing games, that they'll never remember, but the fake talents they have now are practically real talents, so they're artificial just like Hajime's.

Then, because drv3 is a literal teen and not an adult with only their teenage memories like dr2, the whole cast gets practically adopted by the adults. Their parents are all dead.

(all the backstories are kind of similar to reality. Kokichi was in an orphanage with a small group of friends that liked to play pranks. Shuichi's parents were abusive so his uncle took him in. His uncle in dead now soo-

tsumugi  - extremely intense  - makes anime references every now and then  - encourages himiko to cast anime related spells  - dramatic with everything she does  - dramatic entrance, dramatic death, dramatic shooting  - throws blankets onto people then shoots them,,  - “i have the power of god and anime on my side”

keebo  - very nervous the entire time  - stays away from miu and just accepts death when she’s near  - has amazing accuracy  - will remember everyone’s position when he enters a room  - mission impossible type stealth

Kaede Akamatsu

“I...that’s great, S/o! Since you’re semi-immortal, that means I don’t have to make sure that you don’t die as much!”

“Make sure...?” You looked at her glowing eyes, which had turned dull for a minute.

“Yeah! I’m the mastermind, S/o!” She pulled you into a hug, laughing.

You were shocked. Nothing that Kaede said you could hear.

“Just don’t tell anyone, ok?”

Taking a deep breath, you gave her the reply she wanted. “Ok.”

Tenko Chabashira

You woke up to her shaking you, her eyes worried.

“Oh my God, you’re ok S/o!” She pulled you into a crushing up when you sat up.

“Another person’s been killed! I’m so glad you’re ok.”

You laughed as she let go of you. “I wouldn’t worry too much about me dying, I’m semi-immortal!” 

As you watched Tenko’s eyes widen, you covered your mouth.

“S/o’s semi-immortal?!” She grabbed your shoulders and rocked you back and forth. “That’s so cuuuute~!”

You sighed. “Just don’t tell anyone, ok?”

“Ok!”

As she left the room with your hand in hers, her eyes seemed to be more relaxed than usual.

But she was looking at Monokuma with uncertainty, a message that seemed to say “Meet me at night, tonight.”

Maki Harukawa

“The Ultimate Assassin is the mastermind?”

You looked at her with tired eyes as she began to speak.

“Yes, but I’m not the only one keeping secrets from you?”

Kokichi laughed. “Maki’s talkin’ about me!”

She directed her killer gaze towards him. “Shut up. It’s S/o.”

Everyone’s uncertain voices arose and started attacking Maki.

“N-No, everyone! She’s right! I’m semi-immortal. That’s the secret.”

You had said it so fast.

Nobody was sure of what to say.

“Which means I have to kill you all with twice as much as it would take. Even though I love her, S/o isn’t going to be the lone survivor.” 

A gun cocking was heard.

She looked directly towards you, pulling out the gun and having you in it’s sights.

“I’m sorry, S/o.”

Angie Yonaga

“So, S/o is really a gift from Atua! I’m so glad!”

She did her trademark laughing. “You can even survive this even if someone hurt you! You could just pretend like you died!”

You tried laughing with her, rubbing the back of your neck.

“That’s a weird way to think about it.”

Angie playfully pushed you. “It’ll help you when I try to kill you!”

“You shouldn’t say something like that in our situation, Angie!”

“I’m just joking, S/o! Calm down!”

Deep inside, you knew she wasn’t joking.

Why would she say something like that?

Is she the...?

Himiko Yumeno

When you finish explaining to her, she nodded slowly.

“I bet it’s because of my magic spell that I casted on you!”

You giggled. “I thought that spell was for me to fall in love with you?”

“No, S/o! That was another one!”

“Then why’d you cast another one?”

“To protect you.” She hugged you, but that last sentence didn’t seem quite right.

Would Himiko ever outright say she was protecting someone?

Or actually protect someone on her own?

“That’s sweet of you!” You hugged back, trying to act natural.

She quickly broke the hug, looking into your eyes.

“You hesitated.”

What’s with the sudden personality change?

“Did you figure it out?”

“Figure...what out?”

She leaned forward. “That I’m the mastermind.

Kirumi Tojou

She was braiding your hair.

“And we found out I was semi-immortal when I took a fall and only got hurt a little from it.”

Kirumi nodded. “That is peculiar, S/o. Do you know of any other uses to this ability?”

“I think I live longer?”

The rest of the braiding session continued in silence as you and her dwelled on the thought.

After she was done and you finished gushing about how much you loved the braid, Kirumi took your hand.

“I found this room, that I think you will enjoy.” She led you to a door, opened it, and slightly pushed you in.

“Kirumi, where are you going?”

“To do some errands for Saihara.”

When the door closed, you heard it lock.

“K-Kirumi...?” You walked up to the door, trying to open it.

Hoping that Kirumi would come back, and it wasn’t an accident, you examined the room.

It was tailored to your tastes.

And it looked like it was made for you to stay.

Miu Iruma

“That’s right, Miu fucking Iruma, the gorgeous girl genius, is also the beautiful mastermind of this shitty killing game!”

She looked at you, smiling like she had done every other single day.

Except now there was a hint of insanity in it.

“S/o! Wanna join me in fuckin’ up these assholes lives until they’re suicidal?”

“Why?”

Iruma’s smile faded into confusion.

“Why what?”

You took a deep breath. “Why kill everyone...?”

She started a long rant about hope and despair.

Only your classmates watch you run into the execution area.

When Iruma saw you, she was shocked. “S/o, what the hell are you doing?”

“Give me your most brutal and gruesome execution. I don’t want you to hurt them.”

“Why brutal?”

“I’m semi-immortal. It’s going to take a lot to kill me.” You forced a smile.

She scoffed. “You meant nothing to me, anyways.” She slammed the button, turning back to see your execution begin.

Tsumugi Shirogane

“Awh, that’s silly S/o! No one can be semi-immortal!”

“But I am.”

She walked around the control panel. “I guess that’ll help you in being the mole and my love interest!”

You scoffed. “I’m not a love interest, I’m your actu-”

Tsumugi pushed you into the hallway. “You’re going to get chased by the Exisals. Now go!”

Sighing, you began playing the Killing Game.

alright. ok. i’ve calmed down enough to talk about drv3 now. definitely a lot of spoilers under the cut so don’t even think about looking if you care about spoilers

overall impression: holy fuck.

just. holy fuck.

alright, for real, the game starts off really fuckin’ good with a super strong ch1. the “the killer was you all along” reveal as well as protag switch was done SUPER well, the hints sprinkled throughout the chapter that kaede had something going on immediately fit together like pieces of a puzzle. i also really liked that the layout on the student handbook immediately changed with the protag switch, something i only noticed because i’m a spastic saver. it was really good and i understand now why kodaka’s been so proud of it for so long, stating it’s his favorite case that he’s written so far. it was really well done and i was delighted.

then, chapters 2 and 3 were kind of... less satisfying. i don’t know if i’m just slow and didn’t really understand the reasoning behind everything, but the culprit reveals kinda fell short and their motivations were... less interesting than any other culprit’s. i did think it was funny how obviously there was gonna be a locked-room mystery in ch3, what with the sudden access to a room that could only be locked from the inside, but it was kind of easy to figure out. i will say that the only execution that had me in tears was kirumi’s, for the simple reason that she TRIED SO HARD and her struggles were rendered completely meaningless when it turned out the outside world she struggled so hard to reach wasn’t accessible. it seriously pained me to watch someone who tried so hard not be able to reach their goal, for some reason. it really affected me.

ch4 really picked it up again, though. i really felt for gonta who had to accept that he’d committed a crime that he had no memory of. i think it might even be my favorite case of the entire game. it’s also the case that really solidified kokichi’s place as my favorite character in the game. it’s ALSO the case where i feel like the lying gimmick was done the best, since in every trial there is at least one point where you’re required to lie, and the previous lies had kind of fallen short imo. ch1 did it alright enough - i don’t really remember the lie you were required to tell anymore, tbh - but in ch2 and 3 it kinda felt like the game was trying to make you feel bad for telling a lie you were required to tell. i didn’t take any of the opportunities to lie willingly, mostly because my brain isn’t wired to figure out where lying would work or not and figuring out the truth is just the easiest way to solve things for me, so i don’t know if the game treats you the same in those cases or not, but when the game’s just pointing at you like “haha you lied! and everyone believed you!! don’t you feel bad??” it just doesn’t hit home imo. but in ch4, where you’re lying about kokichi’s lie to his face, it just feels so SATISFYING. like, this is the character whose lies have been twisting everything around all the time, and using his own lie against him that way just feels good. like, kokichi, i love you, but come on.

ch5 was interesting in its own way, too. your own theories on what happened kept getting thrown around throughout the trial in a way that made you doubt the truth up until you actually saw it for yourself - that kaito survived and that kokichi was the victim - and the conclusion was satisfying in its own way like that. i also really liked kaito’s execution, what with him dying before it’s actually finished. it was a sort of bittersweet moment; on one hand, it’s sad that he died, but on the other, it was a great victory that he died before the execution was finished, thus beating monokuma at his own game... kind of?

i just beat it and i honestly still don’t know what to think.

on one hand, the entire last trial was RAVING. INSANE. i’m only feeling so drained right now because it was so crazy. i’m really glad my flatmate left so she wouldn’t have to be exposed to my bouts of crazed laughter over just how absurd everything is.

on the other, what the fuck? what? how? who gave you the right

for serious, that ending was so weird and unexpected. i mean, it’s brilliant? but i’m also still extremely lost in all the lies and truths and what’s real and what’s not.

like, i’m just. i don’t know. it’s so crazy i can barely put it into words.

for starters, i’d kind of jokingly thought to myself stuff like “what if tsumugi’s the mastermind, wouldn’t that be crazy”, but i never.... actually..... expected it. to happen. it was just so totally and completely out of nowhere, but still made perfect sense. so revealing her as, actually, the mastermind just kinda... broke me? and i just sat there laughing at the ceiling for probably a solid minute.

second, acknowledging danganronpa as fiction just.... wow. i never, ever, in my wildest dreams, would have expected that. like i can’t BELIEVE kodaka did that. it’s GENIUS but i never would’ve expected it.

third, JUNKO. KODAKA. SERIOUSLY. YOU JUST FUCKING HAD TO. people have been joking about this sort of shit for YEARS and you just UP AND FUCKING DO IT.

but, okay. the insane points isn’t what really gets to me. it’s the LIES. the knowledge that EVERYTHING’S BEEN A LIE. or, has it? how much is lies and how much is the truth? i already figured in ch5 that the flashback lights may not contain the truth. at least when everyone started thinking that kokichi was a remnant of despair. i didn’t believe it for a second, mostly because my understanding of the nature of the remnants of despair has been that they’re a leaderless group, only kept together by the common desire to spread despair and carry out junko’s will.

so, the personalities and memories of all the characters were all lies. right? everything they were was part of their new, written, fictional personalities that they received through the fake memories from the flashback lights, right? the world of danganronpa is fictional, right?

i think i lost my train of thought. i swear i was going somewhere with this, but the lies are still twisting around in my brain.

actually, maybe i can figure out something from this. tsumugi’s comment on being a “cosplaycat criminal” just really bothers me. my overall impression’s been so far that people in dr are the most genuine when death is almost upon them, which leads me to believe that maybe, maybe there is something behind that comment. since it’s one of her last lines before getting executed by keebo. it’s been a pattern i’ve noticed in many other characters’ deaths, what with junko dropping her cheerful facade seconds before getting crushed to death in dr1 and nagito dying with a fearful expression (which i still continue to interpret as him regretting choosing death for whatever reason, reasons i have multiple theories on but no confirmed answer).

anyway, my personal theory is that tsumugi may be a copycat criminal basing her crime entirely on a fictional setting. inspired by danganronpa, she chose to infiltrate the next season and set up an actual, real killing game within the fictional setting, involving all the previously willing participants. the watchers, made out in-game to be cruel and indulging in despair, may be completely unaware of the fact that the people dying are dying for real.

ok this has gone on long enough. the twist ending was just so twisty, i’m still trying to untangle it in my brain and figure out what’s truth and what’s lies. it’s absolutely brilliant but also so crazy and insane that i can’t really wrap my head around it. hopefully some days’ recovery (and free time events and dating minigames) will put my overheated brain at peace.

long story short, it’s a really good game, but also infinite times more crazy than the previous titles. kodaka’s really gone all out in the “what can i get away with doing” department and it really shows. i can’t help but wonder if kodaka meant for the finale to call out the audience for being cruel and reveling in despair but hey, he’s not wrong so, y’know. also i’ve heard he really got to do stuff he’s dreamed of doing in danganronpa games before, which i suspect is referring specifically to the themes of “you were the killer all along,” the locked room murder (i don’t really think nagito’s murder-suicide in sdr2 counts as it’s pretty clear throughout investigation that his wounds are self-inflicted), a culprit who’s unaware of their own crime and the unknowable victim/culprit. at least those are all themes that i figure must’ve been a lot of fun to come up with and write.

it’s just. it’s crazy and insane but it’s so satisfying. i have started considering the sdr2 ending to be a bit anticlimactic, what with the whole “everybody lives” message (which feels cruel when you consider that the deaths in the first killing game, where the participants just happened to be involved, really died, while the participants in the second killing game, who were all followers of junko, were allowed to live), but this ending is just... mad. three survivors out of 16 and an open conclusion, similar to the conclusion of dr1, where you don’t really get to see what the outside world is like at all.

okay i seriously need to stop rambling i don’t even know what i’m talking about anymore. i very much enjoyed my time with this game, is the bottom line. i’m gonna make a screenshot compilation of some of my favorite screenshots now, probably

Spoilery NDRV3 Ask... you know the drill

This is going under a Read More cuz it implies one specific characters’ involvement in a certain Chapter... dont wanna spoil my stream pal (and other followers) just yet!

Okay anon, you caught me, and I’m finally acknowledging this fact after a month, but yes I’ll admit I was exaggerating with that comment haha. After Chapter 6 I would say Chapter 2 is by far my favourite chapter out of V3 (for reference Ch. 1 is third because HOLY SHIT PLAYING AS A CHARACTER I ACTUALLY LOVE is so appreciated for once), mostly because HOT DAMN I goddamn love Kirumi Tojo, and JUST LIKE Tsumugi Shirogane she is hugely underrated as a character by this hell fandom with shite taste (I’m drunk so I will say this freely, shut the actual fuck up about the boring pretty boys already you piece of shit fandom).

Honestly if I go to evaluate DRV3 as a game... the only chapters that I really think completely fell flat were Chapter 3 and 5... and even then the former is pretty enjoyable until the trial. Where the easiest fucking solution is taken and the double murder rule is just totally irrelevant after years of arguing about it. Like... okay Kodaka, be a lazy hack about the whole thing, sure. Chapter 5 on the other hand I fucking loathe with a passion. In every way possible. It is complete garbage.

Otherwise, every chapter of V3 has things I enjoy and fucking loathe about each chapter. V3 is just a huge mixed bag of a game for me. This response didn’t even include spoilers despite being under a read more now that I’m reading it again haha. I hate talking about this game ok. 

But I’m glad there’s a few people showing interest in my pal’s blind V3 stream!!! It’s definitely gonna happen I promise, I’ll defs post more details around the game’s English release, but it’ll most likely start in early October (to give me time to play and finish the game for myself so I can actually be a good assistant!). And I will be way more specific about my V3 opinions during it, haha. Warning: there WILL be a lot of criticism and hate from me, sorry in advance.
