Just for the record (and sorry for the bad quality, that's the only image that google spit out for my search right now - that's the cover of the DVD).

The left one in the beige/brown suit is Kirya Hiromu, the right one in the grey suit is Sena Jun and I never learned the names of the two women because I didn't care for them 😂 didn't like their voices either.

And yes, they called the Musical Earnest in Love 😂

10 11 years, 10 11?? top stars: pt 6

ICYMI, I was celebrating my blog’s 10th birthday by streaming 10 of my favorite top stars and now I am celebrating its 11th anniversary because I can't get shit done to save my life :)

Profile #6: Sena Jun

Cheating a bit because while Asako is pretty distinctly top 10, this is also a 3-for-1; nibante of Asako-era, Kiriya Hiromu, is battling a few others for a spot on this list, and Ayano Kanami might be my favorite top musumeyaku of all time. Combi moe aside, a few things I love about Asako:

Look at her. She's hot.

The spectrum of otokoyaku types I appreciate is fairly broad, but if I had to pick one type to be top of every troupe for the rest of time to stop the world ending for some reason, it would be hard to beat the Asako vibe: sultry, broad-shouldered (comparatively), can do comedy and drama with equal fervor, hot. Classic otokoyaku.

Although it fizzled into utter chaos at the end, overall I loooooooove her Tsukigumi era. Great vibes, great shows.

Did I mention she's hot? (This might be my shallowest pick)

Top Asako memories:

Asako has the honor of being the star of my very first live theater experience in Japan! I saw her as Reno in Anything Goes approx. 12 hours after landing in Tokyo in 2013, painfully delirious but blissfully happy.

- After Maisora Hitomis retirement there will be no new Top Musumeyaku replacement.

- By rating for each work, various musumeyakus will demonstrate their individuality and deliver rich and attractive performances to our customers, so we look forward to your cooperation in the future.

Not having a Top Musumeyaku in a troupe happens from time to time.

- 2010-2011 When Otozuki Kei became Top Star after Mizu Natsuki they didn’t replace Aihara Mika’s Top Musumeyaku position. Maihane Mimi was selected as Top Musumeyaku in 2011.

- In 2008-2009 after Ayano Kanami’s retirement Sena Jun was performing without a Top Musumeyaku until her retirement in late 2009 and the Top positions went to Kiriya Hiromu and Aono Yuki.

- 2004-2005 Ayaki Nao was left without a Top Musumeyaku for her two last performances before retirement. Emi Kurara was Ayaki Nao’s partner in 2004 for a few months before retiring later that year.

- This has occurred several more times in the history of Takarazuka, just naming a few ^.^

Aoi and Ichigo have been best friends since they were young. The two first met at a festival where the latter was dancing to Guppy, an idol.

She's highly knowledgeable about idols and the entertainment industry, but before that, she studied many cultural arts such as the violin, horseback riding, the piano, etc.

As a result, she is often referred to as the “Idol Professor” (アイドル博士 Aidoru Hakase) or Aoi-sensei (あおい先生). After the two joined Starlight School, it was revealed that Aoi got the best score out of around 1000 people on the test about past idols for the entrance exam, having answered every question correctly.

At the end of Episode 2, she became Mizuki Kanzaki's temporary manager after winning an audition against Ichigo. Her favorite brand is Futuring Girl and her stage color is blue.

Aoi is a calm and bright girl. She is very intelligent, possessing an encyclopedic knowledge and excellent analytical skills. She is highly determined towards her goals and approaches them very seriously.

Aoi makes sure to plan ahead and research as much as she can for a situation. She is hard-working and has a bit of a perfectionist streak.

As a child, Aoi quickly became interested in idols after discovering the freedom and excitement of it, which was a strict contrast to the traditional arts she partook in.

Zuka at a family reunion

Sena gives the mom vibe she will set the table and help in the kitchen. All the unrelated men there think she’s hot and are not being subtle whatsoever. Also some kids ship her and their dad so she can be their new mom

Rio is the wine aunt who met your kids once and they won’t stop talking about her. You think she’s a bad influence and she’s probably turned your children against you. Your kids love Rio more and you just have to accept that

Mizu is that one uncle who’s always there but you never talk to. The older you get, the more you believe shes affiliated with the Mafia. Now it’s been years and your family hasn’t heard from her for a long time

Sagiri is that one cousin who stresses you out, and you kinda hope you don’t ever have to see her again. Her laugh is drilled into your head. Also frequently comes up in convo because the rest of the family loves her

Shizuki is your aunties’ cousins’ boyfriends’ sisters’ friend who teaches the young children how to do karate and self defence in the middle of dinner time once you ask her about what she does for a living

Kiriya is the wine aunts (Rio) boyfriend who drinks a lot of beer but is also that manly material that the younger kids at the family reunion fall for. Years later those kids realize that was weird of them
