-eddy starts getting really angry out of nowhere when it’s a wiggly-dominated timeline. it sets him on edge

-eddy likes peppy christian guitar music and also the most strange sounding grunge

-he really likes christmas! no idea why (lie)

-he has a very strange laugh. on bad days it makes hannah squirm for some reason

-he plays the tuba to be more like his idol, larry the cucumber

-lex thinks he’s weird but is really grateful for him because he’s a good friend to hannah

-eddy is honestly scared of himself, but he’s faithful things will all work out

-he was supposed to be a way for wiggly to get some extra influence in the world, but eddy really loves life and wouldn’t be willing to destroy it, not without a really bad timeline

-he hates clivesdale and, although he doesn’t really get football, yells really loudly for the nighthawks to “fucking kill those chemists” during the big game. go nighthawks!

-he’d be friends with anyone if they were nice to hannah

-eddy is a very trusting person. it could easily be his downfall.

brief descriptor for my ocs that I’ve never mentioned before

Penelope “Penny” Collins, 15, she/they, a troubled and inquisitive high school freshman who definitely isn’t in a child fighting ring at the roller rink (she totally is, her stage name is lens flare). Her mother died and her father left, leaving her under the care of her maternal uncle, Fletcher.

Fletcher “Fletch” Collins, 34, he/xe, a CCRP employee in HR who is explicitly told to ignore every complaint even remotely concerned with the supernatural. He lives with his mom, Mickey, after a messy breakup with his former boyfriend. He has no clue how to take care of a teenager.

Maeve “Mickey” Collins, 67, she/her, a kind old lady who lives near the Witchwood and has seen it all. She’s more of a guardian to Penny than Fletch is. The Collins family is like, super cursed by the way.

😈 - Which Lord in Black would be most likely to target your HF oc?

Penny - Blinky. Penny has the Gift, and is besties with Blinky, à la Hannah and Webby. As Blinky is her bestie, he often influences her more rash decisions and is the first to suggest her to be more of a troublemaker. She was better about ignoring his worse ideas before her mom died.

Fletcher - Wiggly. Fletcher is someone who struggles a lot with his rage, and Wiggly would eat that shit up. He absolutely would have been part of the Wiggly cult if he hadn't been helping his mom make gingerbread cookies on Black Friday. Plus, he wanted to avoid the long lines.

Mickey - Nibbly. Mickey's sister was a Honey Queen, and although Mickey doesn't know exactly what happened to her, she knew that her sister would never completely cut contact with her. Also, she's had a lot of sacrifice in her life, so Nibbly would feed into her feelings of helplessness. Thankfully, she's wise enough now to avoid giving in.

💀 - How privy is your HF oc to the darker goings-on around town, like the shady work of CCRP or the Church of the Starry Children?

Penny - COMPLETELY clueless. She's too full of teenage problems and Roller-Rama stuff learn about the town's history. She does want to know why Hatchetfield is the only place where she's seen others with the Gift, though, as well as learning about the Gift in general.

Fletcher - He's not knowledgeable about it per se, but being part of CCRP gets him closer to the secrets of the town than most. I'm still kind of working on him, but I think he's at least being considered by CCRP as a lab rat because he's very malleable and a good secret keeper.

Mickey - She's seen a lot over the years, so she knows bits and pieces of the town's history, but has more of a "not my problem" attitude about it. As long as her family and friends are safe, she wouldn't care if there's some hooligan cultists in the woods or what have you.

Does your HF oc have any kind of reputation around town? Have they ever been the subject of townie gossip, or the center of a well-known town story, ala "Becky Barnes climbed a tree and stayed there for two days"?

the adults of hatchetfield know eddy mainly as "the reverend's boy." he's seen as harmless if a bit too annoying in his cheeriness. there's probably a few rumors about his absent mother, most of which center around her allegedly moving to clivesdale (spoiler alert: she doesn't exist)

the teens know him as "the band kid that bit the star quarterback one time" and a total nerdy prude. the aforementioned biting story is probably the most infamous rumor about him. there's a sliding scale of people who believe it happened or not and neither eddy nor max will confirm or deny it

oh boy

i think personality-wise, chara was kind, loyal to a fault, incredibly stubborn, and a very comedic child. they were focused on being a “big kid” (why they talk so formally and ask asriel why he’s crying in that one tape), but liked childish things. and, yeah, massive nerd. they like anime and love books. they quoted kitchen so they clearly have a higher reading level. they were artistic, as the paintings and sweater and the macaroni art were implied to be done by them (they were incredibly committed for making such a big sweater btw). they loved gardening as evidenced by their gardening tool and excitement about water sausages. they were messy and loved tori’s pie. they idealized accountability and consequences, as seen by their end monologue. they laughed when they were sad and sacrificed themself for their family. they were determined to make things right, but was too blinded by their goals to see that asriel couldn’t follow through with the plan. they were a kid.

chara and the buttercup incident?

okay here me out: the cups of butter = buttercups thing was because chara really likes riddles. they saw "cups of butter" and remembered something asgore mentioned to them about those pretty golden flowers. they thought "ooh! i know this one!" and tried to 'solve' the recipe. it was like the "oh! it is a 'water sausage'" line. they love plant names and remembering them. asriel followed them on this because he didn't know any better either. they were literally just kids man

Okay so in the Post-Pacifist talk with Flowey where he says 'See ya Chara' at the very end, perhaps implying this talk is directed at who he believes to be Chara, and during said discussion he refers to reset as 'That power. I know that power. That’s the power you were fighting to stop, wasn’t it? The power that I wanted to use.'

And! I desire thoughts on these lines from someone not me because there are SO MANY INTERESTING IMPLICATIONS but I only see MAYBE one fanfic/comic/AU explore 'Chara wanted to STOP resets and tried telling others about them' (Underline, highly recommended)

tbh I haven’t thought about this much BUT!! it is highly interesting. I have some ideas about how resets work from chara’s pov but if they were fighting to stop it, one idea that crossed my mind was:

chara could have had the same abilities of frisk, though frisk’s power could have been due to us, the player, but that’s a whole other theory. but if they did, they clearly didn’t use it at the end. they chose to die and give up their soul for monster kind, so they couldn’t have reset or loaded or anything. did flowey maybe link this incident to his own powers as chara trying to stop resets because he realized they probably could have if they wanted to? chara is notable for holding people accountable, so if they knew they could have tried again and didn’t in the az-chara fusion, would they have been holding themself accountable and not letting themself try again because they wanted to face the consequences of their mistakes? would as have now known about this and remembered this as flowey now that he can reset? idk mate

Talk a bit abt Gwem and Mac! They're v cute.

gwem loves the stars so whenever they can’t sleep they always find mac in the cockpit and beg him to talk about constellations and all the boring nerd stuff he likes (affectionate). it’s really a distraction from the nightmares gwem gets about their home and mac knows this so he talks for hours until he knows they feel better. this man saw a sad orphan child, said “is anyone gonna adopt that,” and didn’t wait for an answer.

mac asks gwem if he can officially adopt them one day and they cry and they share a nice group hug and even crypt comes down from the roof and basically it’s just so much found family softness
