Chay was hiding those polaroid pics for Kim to find at random moments.

Each picture was left as a gift.

This particular one was hiding in the guitar strings.

The rest of them in the box? Each one was almost certainly collected from a different hiding place. Each one with a hand-written message.

Each picture is not just picture but a memory of happiness added to Kim's life when he least expected it.

KinnPorsche | Episode 13

This week has been quite dramatic for the KinnPorsche fandom. However we have a new episode today and since I only get to do this just one more time after today not gonna go beyond the episode. 

Let’s dive in what has been one of the most awaited episodes (something I say about every episode). The thoughts and feelings of my first watch of episode 13 shall begin now

This episode not only Vegas gets punched but we have been choke slammed with the copious amount of pain and suffering 

Vegas and Pete right of the bat. Vegas that’s one way to flirt I guess

Vegas just a bullet through his head. You have the entire fandom’s blessing to do so. Hell I can assure you volunteers too. 

Vegas please it’s been 10minutes I am already crying.

Tankhun the only reason everybody else except the main family is buried 6ft deep is because you don’t hold the reins

Porsche no just no..whatever you are thinking it’s just not ok

They said I LOVE YOU...and with the time it took for Kinn to say it back you can see how much strength and trust he had to gather to put it out there. 

Jesus christ the pool scene..I have nail marks on cheeks because I cannot scream right now. Please god is testing me and I ain’t his strongest soldier. My heart is pounding. Time to hit pause and take deep breaths. 

So my crying has intensified. will soon be bawling if that’s not everyone don’t really know what you guys are watching

Porsche and Vegas of course, this duo never fails does it?? *sarcasm*

The iron of Vegas/Porsche and Kinn/Pete on opposite sides just wow. There is some lyricism here which once my brain works I can say although for shits and giggles why don’t Pete and Kinn just be serves the other dumbo pair who is  forever meeting in the dark with no one around. 

A lot many things happened will keep adding once I find my brain to work because I am dehydrated. I am crying but there ain’t tears. This is worrisome not gonna lie. As much as I loved those little sprinkles of comedy. I cannot recap it because I am no longer in possession of coherent thoughts and in terrible need to touch grass for reality to kick in. I have never been so on the edge with an episode.

Also this episode has quite literally is an answer to those people who ever underestimated the production, acting or anything about the show.  Again my opinion coz haters gonna hate.

EMOTIONAL DAMAGE and if I die what a way to go.

PS - I am not ready for next week. I cannot accept a reality where I don’t get my weekly KinnPorsche.

Dear Kinnporsche the series and Not me the series fans I just wanted to share this masterpiece I found on tiktok(well my friend found it and sent it to me because she knows I'm a diehard Vegaspete and Toddblack fan). My fav toxic ships as parallels in a video is just😩. I saw this edit and it just brought back so many memories of my Not me the series phase and my Gramblack fan phase(Gram is still the biggest gay disappointment of 2022😃), I remember me switching from a Gramblack fan to a Toddblack fan real quick after the ep of Gram and Eugene came out 🤡. Oh god the nostalgia aklgjasklgj. I just love Vegaspete and Toddblack sm😭.

I will never get over the fact that the water symbolism is just P’Pond going “wouldn’t it be nice if they kiss in the water”

The Pool Scene: no reflections anymore, we're in the water now

This post fits in with the rest of my mirrors and fire and water series, but there was simply too much to put into one of those posts, so it gets one of its own!

This is the scene we have all been waiting for. And not only because of the trailer—but because it's been foreshadowed since early in the season.

In the first instance of The Pool, Kinn is testing the waters (heh) for how Porsche feels about him—if he remembers their kiss. They are super reflected and separate from each other. The surface of the pool is still, and there are hidden feelings under that smooth surface.

The second time, it’s when they’ve been through some shit (eps 9-10) and are trying to reconcile. They make further progress than they did last time they were here—Porsche asks Kinn to trust him and Kinn kisses him in response—but it’s still not a full admission of love or trust. They are still reflected, but it’s lesser, and the surface of the pool has more ripples. They’re also physically a lot closer (kissing).

The third time, it’s when they say the words "I love you" to each other in full admittance of feelings. It comes right after Kinn has declared how much he trusts Porsche to Porsche’s parents, and it comes in the wake of his promise to start anew in the ~proposal~ scene in ep 12. They are no longer reflected because they are in the water, and the surface is full of bubbles and waves and movement, and they are as physically close as they can get (literally fucking).

It’s important that we as the audience recognise the significance of this and the weight of this scene and everything that has been building up to it. We wouldn’t have had this scene now, like this, if they weren’t in a place where they fully loved and trusted each other. Kinn especially. His entire character arc has been about trust and how trusting Porsche has brought him freedom, and that’s been shown through the use of mirrors and reflections and where and when he’s been reflected—so this is super important for his character arc, because he’s not reflected anymore. By being in the pool, in the water, he's in the place where the reflections once were, broken free of that duality of self that has dogged his footsteps since episode 1. He can no longer be confronted with his reflections and the lurking mafia side of him, because he has chosen Porsche. He is his full self. He’s converged.

It’s also important for their relationship, because they can’t lie to each other when they’re in water. In ep 6 they find water and we get the first instance that episode of Kinn being himself. There's the ep 6 river kiss, indulging in what they wanted with each other. There's the ep 8 pool kiss, unable to stop themselves from kissing even if it meant getting caught, because there feelings are just so huge and joyful. So now, even though we know that Porsche is hiding things from Kinn, we know that none of this is a lie. It is all 100% true and genuine feelings, and even if they weren’t fucking in the ~pool of truth~ or whatever, that much is evident just from Apo’s acting. To quote @the-wayside, it’s all about the equality—there is no cutting away, nothing obscured. They are completely honest and true in their feelings for each other.

And that’s why it’s so important that we got this scene before Porsche left! Because this whole time, despite what he’s doing, he doesn’t want to betray Kinn or stop loving him or stop trusting him. I said this in my post about trust but if anything, the presence of this scene here just serves to further reinforce the fact that Porsche does trust Kinn. 

It’s also a good bye of sorts (I should clarify, not a permanent one, Porsche was very much intending on coming back once he knew the truth, and Kinn gave him his heart in the ep 7 balcony scene and Porsche promised to return it and to come back to him). It parallels ep 7 in lots of ways, actually. Ep 7—the bathroom scene in particular—was what I consider the start of their genuine relationship, and while this is not the end, Porsche knows he is about to leave. Ep 7 is a promise on Kinn’s behalf to try to trust Porsche. Ep 13 is a promise on Porsche’s behalf that he can trust him, and that he is going to trust Kinn. And it’s a promise of their love. It's a promise to come back to him. Yeah, next episode is gonna be a rollercoaster, but I know this: KP’s love is not gonna waver, not one bit, not after this.

KinnPorsche Ep13 Lines of Power

Penultimate episode! I'm here to break down lines of power, staging, and framing for the second-to-last time for the season. (OMG, are we there yet? Are we there yet?)

I have a quibble with this one.

All of my three favorite elements are at play:

Line of power: The fountain comes between Kinn and Porsche, showing division between them.

Framing: The outer doorway frames the shot and once again looks like a theatre's proscenium, much like in my Ep9 Part 1 LoP post with that scene of Porsche standing over Tawan in the chair.

Staging: ... this is where I have a quibble.

Kinn and Porsche are staged oddly, just a little too far apart. That's a weirdly wide distance at which to talk about intimate, private matters. And, sure, sure, you might argue that the staging is deliberate to show Porsche trying to keep a distance, but for me? It simply reads as a mistake; I feel as though a more natural staging was sacrificed in order to enable the line of power and the framing.

I would have looked for an alternative setup. Natural staging should be a higher priority.

HOWEVER, quibble aside, please keep in mind the frame in the foreground that acts like a theatre proscenium. This effect happens repeatedly in this episode.

The table runner is a line of power pointing to Korn. This is an easy one. (I hope you'll cut me some slack. I am drowning in meta for the Meta Doc right now.)

By the way, does Korn just have his bodyguards haul that big-ass heavy wooden table out to his patio on the regular? I sure hope the guards are well taken care of if they throw out their backs...

Porsche has a super-dark background, unusual for him, plus he has those two doors framing him. The doors feel like pressure coming at him from both sides.

Not only that, but the frame is tilted, askew just a little and tilting to the left. (You can see this most clearly by looking at the right doorframe.)

Meanwhile, Kinn is all greenery and natural light, and the line of the patio ledge behind him is completely level. Um, Kinn? Kinn? Alarm bells, please, have some alarm bells going off. The Porsche is NOT okay.

In short, great contrast between these two.

Tableau again!! It didn't hold for long, hardly counts, but I feel like this moment is right up there with my other top two tableau moments in Ep 5 and Ep 11. However, Papa Ironfist with his superhero pose will never NOT make me giggle.

AND there's that theatrical proscenium again! Look, look, the frame in the foreground again makes it look like we're watching a stage production.

Okay, if you've been following the LoP series all along, you know I've been looking for a reversal of the whole "Kinn on his throne" thing. I think... I'm probably not going to get it. 😭 However, I do really like this little moment where Porsche joins Kinn on his throne. King and Queen, together at last. (Sadly, later we see Porsche standing next to the same throne as a bodyguard, so we really aren't all the way there yet... but still. Please indulge me.)

Ahh, but all is not well. We are not in paradise. Their body language is telling its own story. Their legs are crossed in opposite directions, a hint toward them being closed off from each other.

And I will let the color theorists tackle the blue tinted sky. Something something Porsche's emotional arc for the ep something something...

Woaaahhh, super dramatic split screen.

Okay, lots of things going on. First, notice the black and white backgrounds. Second, the lighting casts Vegas with significantly more light that shows is face in red, whereas Pete is all in shadow with only a few neon highlights.

*Galadriel voice* He has fallen into shadow...

Bonus points for making Bible seem taller just with the staging. 🤣 I jest, but actually his higher positioning is pretty important, showing that he's the one with all the power here.

I'm not sure I can do this shot justice. I'm not sure anyone can do this shot justice.

The blinds act like a cage, speaking to both of their extremely difficult situations at once...

The split coloration shows Porsche in orange/red and Pete in teal/green... With green being generally accepted as a code for danger in this series, I think what I would interpret is that Pete's emotional state is its own danger.

The thick, black dividing line comes between them, but Porsche reaches across to try to help Pete...

This is a masterpiece. I will happily stare at it for ages and ages.

Ahh, a familiar shot from the opening credits.

Kim is looking small, alone, and lost in darkness. He doesn't know how not to be alone, but he wants it and is scared shitless. All the things that ARE wrong and COULD go wrong with his relationship are in direct conflict with what would make him happy...

Basically Kim.exe has stopped working. Boy is going through a malfunction caused by one (1) Porchay Kittisawat. I don't think he's ever looked quite this helpless.

It's interesting to me that this moment was shown only in the flashback. Everything is blurred except for Kinn and Porsche's clasped hands. Also, their bodies and the gravestone act as a frame. The promise to hold onto each other is significant. (Hear that, Porsche? Are you listening?)

This shot is used to highlight Kinn's empty hand after Porsche scurries off to Find The Truth.

Wow, I'd say "everything hurts and nothing is beautiful," but the cinematography continues to be beautiful. So, everything hurts and everything is beautiful. 😭

One more theatrical proscenium for this post!

I feel like the framing is appropriate given that we have a lot of drama going on, so much that I'd even say melodrama. I'm only sad Korn and Porsche didn't get their own theatrical frame in the final moments of the ep.

Basically, I feel like the show is telling us that the stage is set for the final confrontation. Dun dun DUN! I mean, I'm sure I'm stating the obvious, but there you have it.

Ignoring the body in the room, er, street

I'll admit, when I see "why is nobody talking about XYZ" in the KinnPorsche fandom, I often just scroll past because I've seen someone or multiple someones talking about XYZ already. I'm all up in the main KinnPorsche tag scouring for meta. I know what people are talking about.

You know what people aren't talking about?

Arthee. Freshly dead from a shot in the back. And specifically left dead at Kinn's feet. And the way his death might impact how Kinn views the situation.

Because Porsche's uncle? As shitty as Arthee may have been, I imagine Kinn would have believed he'd be off limits.

Plus Kinn saw Porsche collapsed on the ground.

Kinn is gonna want some answers, and not just from Porsche (thought definitely from him, too).

EDIT for clarity: Specifically Kinn should be asking WHO killed Arthee and WHY.

But we can also talk about the way the bloodstains on the front and back of Arthee's shirt don't align! Maybe it indicates the angle of the snipe? Or it's just a mistake in the effects?
