Limiting the choice to the shows and movies I have seen/know of. I'm not asking who the first actor you have seem playing Arthur was, rather the one you instinctively think about when someone mentions him or the one closest to your heart.

𓃶 What Is The Wild Hunt?
The Wild Hunt is a common belief among many Northern European cultures. In short, the hunt is a cavalcade of ghosts, spirits, fairies, elves, and other spiritual beings that is said to sweep across our world every year. Depending on where your beliefs come from, when it happens will differ.
It is commonly believed that the leader of The Wild Hunt is a deity or figure of importance of some kind, such as Odin/Woden in Norse and Saxon traditions, or King Arthur in British lore. Other leaders of the hunt include but are not limited to:
𖤓 Arawn or Gwyn ap Nudd, commonly seen as the Welsh lords of Annwn
𖤓 Danish king Valdemar Atterdag
𖤓 The Norse dragon slayer Sigurd
𖤓 Biblical figures like Cain, Gabriel, Herod and the devil
𖤓 Gothic king Theodoric the Great
☾༺♰༻☽
𓃶 What Did People Do For The Wild Hunt?
The Wild Hunt was generally seen as a bad omen; one for destruction, famine, war, plague, or the death of the one who saw it. In many traditions, witnessing the hunt would result in the viewer being abducted to Otherworld or Underworld. Other times, those who were not protected would have their souls pulled from their bodies while they sleep, and they would join the menagerie of the dead.
To avoid this fate, people in Wales, for example, began the tradition of carving pumpkins as a way to avoid being taken by the fae. In Scandinavia, offerings like bread were put outside the home as an offering to the spirits joining Odin for the hunt.
☾༺♰༻☽
𓃶 When is The Wild Hunt?
Depending on where your beliefs stem from, there are various answers to this question.
In Britain, The Wild Hunt is associated with the autumn season, specifically around and on Samhain/The Autumn Equinox.
Scandinavian tradition tells us that they prepared for the hunt around December, specifically Yule/The Winter Equinox.
☾༺♰༻☽
𓃶 What Entities Are A Part of the Wild Hunt?
Many entities are associated with the Wild Hunt in different areas. These entities include but are not limited to:
𖤓 The Fae (The Sidhe, The Tlywyth Teg, etc)
𖤓 Spirits of the Dead
𖤓 Demons
𖤓 Valkyries
𖤓 The Spirits of Huntsmen or Nobles
𖤓 Horses (sometimes with an abnormal amount of legs)
𖤓 Wolves and dogs (sometimes spiritual in nature, i.e. the Cwn Annwn)

heeey, you know how in the legends Morgan le Fay was the one looking after King Arthur in Avalon?
Imagine Morgana ending up in Avalon after her death. You know. Because she's a High Priestess and they were basically the show's version of Avalon's sisterhood of fay?
Imagine Morgana, now with pointy ears and fabulous wings, being saddled with the task of caring for her brother's body and sleeping spirit?
Imagine how angry she is, now immortal and with endless time on her hands, but bound by Avalon's will, having to spend her eternity caring for a brother whom she helped kill?
Imagine how she shouts at him, but receives no response, hits him but leaves no mark. Because he is dead and she has to look at him. At his blank, peaceful face.
(Imagine how after centuries, she learns to let her anger rest
Imagine how after millenia, she does her duty properly and heals his wounds and spirit and lets the Once and Future King rise again
And now that her duty is done, she may leave Avalon and walk the human world again)

My favorite arthurian tv shows and minisiers (part 1/2)
(My favorite movies here)
More details under cut. Some of these I love, some are so bad so good, some are beautifully epic, some are just funny.
The Adventures of Sir Galahad: Short one season tv show (15 episodes) about Galahad having to recover Excalibur after it was stolen. Also the one and only show where Galahad and Mordred interact.
The Adventures of Sir Lancelot: 30 episodes of self contained light and sometimes comedic adventures focusing on Lancelot living at Camelot. Still very much enjoyable today! Other characters who appear are Merlin, Arthur and Guinevere.
Arthur of the Britons: The first attempt to make a tv show focusing on Celts and a Celtic Arthur. Episodes are self contained. Kind of strange sometimes, and the only arthurian characters are Arthur, Kay and Ector.
The Legend of King Arthur: An 8 episodes BBC show which adapts Malory. This is the best arthurian tv show ever created! It also has an amazing Morgan and a stellar Mordred. Actually made me cry!
Entaku no Kishi Monogatari Moero Asa: Toei original anime (no manga) of 30 episodes that follow Arthur's journey to reclaim Camelot after it was conquered by a villain.
The Boy Merlin: Very short 6 episodes series about Merlin as a kid discovering his powers. It was very light and with an historical aesthetic.
Merlin: Two episodes miniseries, extremely popular! It follows Merlin from his childhood to the death of Arthur. While it is not my favorite, it has some great scenes in the second part where Guinevere, Mordred and Lancelot are introduced.
The Mists of Avalon: Miniseries adaptation of a novel I really dislike - but I love this miniseries. It might actually be one of my favorite arthurian series. It focuses on Morgana and her relationship with Arthur and Guinevere. It also has an amazing Mordred and Morgause, one of the rare times where we see Morgause.

(Source: HERE) (Note: source is in French. Image above is browser translated)
This implies Roland gets to see Ogier (Morgan's newest BF)
God knows what kind of trouble Roland and Gawain get up to...
So arthurian characters outside of Arthur and Morgan that get to Avalon are: Morgan's nephew, Morgan's son, The Grail King, and Morgan's toxic gf.

What I've Been Playing - October
Tumblr media
Darq: psychological platformer horror
Status: Unfinished (3/6 chapters)
Initial Thoughts: I like the mechanics and the dreamlike atmosphere, less sold on the monster designs.
Rating: 3.7/5
Tumblr media
Bramble: The Mountain King: Nordic horror adventure
Status: Unfinished (12/16 levels)
Initial Thoughts: I love this game so much. The music, the menace, the pathos. Only complaints are less accessible for D/deaf players and massive difficulty spike at level 12.
Rating: 4.8/5
Tumblr media
Dragon Quest IX: Sentinels of the Starry Skies: Fantasy turn-based JRPG
Status: Finished (x8)
Thoughts: I'm so glad that this game has held up for me since I was eleven. While I miss the aspects of having defined characters in your party, the running theme of coming to peace regarding death and missed opportunities more than make up for it.
Rating: 4.2/5
Tumblr media
Avalon Code: fantasy action role play
Status: Unfinished (prev. 6/11 chapters, new 1/11)
Thoughts: This game has way more confusing controls than I remember when I was nine though I find fighting easier. The concept is really cool (you have to collect information to preserve before the world ends) and I had an early crush on some of the romantic interests. However, it's unwieldy and does not seem to make use of its core conceit.
Rating: 2/5.
That wraps up October's game update, I guess. DQ III's remake comes out next month but we'll find out if I have any money, then.

Like seriously, I'm so tired of people hating on Gil (even though sometimes it's quite justified and sometimes I hate him too) but also not accepting him outside fsn trilogy or treating him like completely different entity or treating his character development like something bad or saying that it was made just for profit. And yeah, sure, the last bit is technically true, because of his character popularity Nasu decided to give him a backstory, give him some depth and meaning instead of just leaving him the way he was, a shallow villain from eroge game, so why treating this development like it's a bad thing?
