Perhaps controversial, but: why the hell do people wanna download fics as EPUBs? I'd vastly rather they be PDFs

i was interested in reading the Horus Heresy book series so i looked up how many books was in the series and... 67 main books, that is a bit too much, at least to buy all of them is a bit too much for me and my brazilian ass and those books can be quite expensive to buy, like, a lot.

I still want to read it, maybe i will try to pirate the books and then buy them in the future when i become capable of doing it (like i do with manga), or at least some of them, i don't know. Is a lot of books, too many of them, i love reading but fuck, is too many of them and book are something really expensive in brazil. For exemple, i have yet to finish reading foundation and dune for years, but the books are so expensive that i can't buy them, literally.

since Amazon is in hot water for taking purchased ebooks from people’s kindles, what’s a good alternative site everyone uses where you actually own the ebooks you buy and not “you’re buying a license to access the ebook that we can take away at any point we no longer want to renew the license”

Same question for audiobooks. I love audible but again it’s still owned by Amazon.

and to my uk mutuals do you recommend using hive or do you use one of the American owned sites?

well, yes. its complicated. jasper knows (later in the timeline) and so does mr. ree. george and harold DO FIND OUT he exists at around book 2 with the talking toilets (they think he came to life from the patsy) but therefore have NO CLUE that its krupp at all for a good two books and (thanks to poopypants) they eventially start realizing that if cap WAS made from the patsy hed be leaking the printer ink the turbo toilet 2000 did in book 2 instead of blood when he got hurt, which throws them for a loop for a good while of the story.

About the username, I think it was born from a Gintama episode where kagura says bananas are king and I had a whole debate about it with my brother. We decided that yes, bananas are king. So queenbanana because it rolls better than kingbanana. Later I watched that silly bananya show and began using queenbananya instead.

Not to be all “I love books im intellectual and technology is evil ^_~ “ but I hope print books never go away. Reading without aggressive ad intrusion and without having to be touching a device that receives notifications is so nice. I love seeing people’s commentary in the margins of a pre owned book. I love the disgusting moist smell of old books that sat in storage for decades.

So I went to go download some books onto my kindle and I noticed this when I sent .mobi files to my kindle email.

I have no idea why Kindle would stop supporting .mobi files for upload. Mobi has always been preferable to me over .epub because the formatting tends to be a bit nicer, but it seems that will no longer be an option. Of course there are still other formats, listed on the kindle's help site:

I'll keep sending mobi files to my Kindle library until it stops, even if that may only be an option for the rest of October. Which is like, 3 days. I hope this helps anyone who uses the kindle library upload system.
