I'm not really any manner of orator, and I average out at the amount of knowledge that passes my feed. I just... you know, recognize that. the US authorities and the bulk of celebrities who played into it to keep their job did those same things to us in the 60s and 70s. it's the same playbook, it's the same colonialism, it's the same human toll.
#idk. the news is fucking horrific. and then you go online and see the perpetrators act all uwu and lie to your face#it is. idk vietnam managed to exist as a country after 75. and I grew up thinking such level of cruelty is something of the past#if not because the forces behind it have grown kinder then because they've learned their lesson#they have. they've improved on their PR for a while. we just managed to outpace that machine for a moment#with handheld recording devices and the internet.#you know now where I stand if there were any chance it wasn't clear before. what the israeli defense force is doing is genocide.#given - once again - that I'm not any kind of speaker I have mostly just been moving resources around on here#but I still felt like I should at the very least make it very clear that no matter what we do live in that same world#and we should not fucking forget. because the ones who benefit from these conflicts would like for us to#they wanted badly for people in the US to forget vietnam. us living here fucking remember.

Me sick as a dog losing sanity
I wonder if I say the Amane verdict is negatively impacting me if it would change. Clearly, no one cares about kids, but I'm an adult, so apparently, by voting logic, my feelings and safety should matter more. Nah, that wouldn't work. Several adults already said they wished she were feeling better and got ignored.
I wonder if enough people flooded the live chat with information on the lack of rights children have in Japan and how Fukuoka the place Amane is from is so rampant with child abuse that babysitters and daycare attendants have even been caught abusing kids would her verdict change for the better.
No, this isn't even about the verdict anymore. This is a serious long-term issue that's been going on for more than a decade. Somebody should probably say something about this regardless.
This can't continue to go ignored. The more I learn about the extent of child abuse there the worse this verdict is. It's really a reflection on society as a whole and how it treats children. It's just so fucking gross and sad.

I finished my thesis and submitted it.
My country has lived a catastrophic event and the tragedies are piling up.
I still haven't found a flat and staying up in a hostel.
Some countries are burning, others are flooding, others are shaking.
I haven't had a real meal in two weeks, living off sandwiches and take out because I don't have access to a kitchen.
The inequalities between rich and poor, well-off and miserable are getting bigger and bigger.
I've had little sleep and little stability in weeks or even months.
Solidarity and kindness must prevail. It must.
#the final crux of my thesis was about kindness. i wrote 50k words on beauty and the beast/fantasy to finish with#kindness is the heart of everything and we should all be kinder to one another because that's the only thing that can save us#a friend of mine back in morocco is spending every minute organizing collects and aid campaigns to help out#i wrote to her and asked her how i could help. she said 'keep the country in our prayers'#it made me cry#who prays for the ones who pray for everyone else?#another friend just wrote me to congratulate me on finishing the thesis and saying she was praying for morocco#so many people have written me to ask me if my family was safe and that they were thinking of my country#it makes me cry#because the world is not all black. light perseveres. kindness and hope and love persevere.
