Even more redesigns + headcanons!!!

I really dislike how much grey all the designs had, it felt really dull and restricting to me. And as they’re performers in a circus, I decided to give them all their own assigned colours!

I made Mickeys vest pink and gave him brown boots to match the other red tones better, and also made his ears more angular.

I HATED Donald’s vest and hat💀changed his hat to blue and made it smaller, changed his vest to have buttons and gave him a pink shirt to contrast the blues.

Didn’t like how Goofy had about 3 colours while Don and Mick both got one colour and grey. So I gave Goofy green! I also gave him a tan and made his leg longer as the angle was kinda scuffed ngl.

I didn’t have a big problem w/ this design. I changed his eyebags, shoes and trousers slightly. I did forget to change his shoes to brown tho!

Love Fanny’s design but a pet peeve of mine has always been impractical clothing/uniform for women in the work place in media😭

Made her dress longer, gave her tights, medical gloves, changed the war crime crosses (lol) and yeah :33

“Like this?” You ask, settling on the edge of a chair.

Xavier peaks from behind his canvas, hands already expertly blending in paints to make all the variations in your skin tone. “Yeah, but get comfortable, you’re going to be sitting like that for a few hours.” Immediately you shuffle until your back hits the chair.

“Thanks for doing this, by the way—you’re really saving me here.” You nod. Truthfully you figured Xavier would be the first one done with the art assignment, art was literally his reason for being born. But you suppose something as mundane as a simple portrait assignment might not be exciting enough for Mr. Tortured Artist.

“I figured you would ask Wednesday to do this first.” Despite his obvious fondness for your favorite apathetic peer, she also has that thing where she doesn’t really blink…or move?

“She told me to go to hell.”

“That sounds like her.” He snorts a laugh in response.

You watch as Xavier dabs pain across the canvas. A knee curls against your chest, your clasped hand and head balanced on top of it.

“What about Enid?” You can’t see her denying his request, and they are pretty close.

“Making out with Ajax.”

“Makes sense.”

You’re a second from asking him about Bianca, but restrain yourself at the last minute. Maybe it’s still too soon. Instead you say:

“Just two single teenagers doing homework on a Saturday night.” You say it with all the care you might give telling someone the temperature or what time it is. You’re taken aback when you meet Xavier’s eyes, a mischevious glimmer in them.

“What if I told you I was trying to change that?” His mouth quirks into a heavy smirk, and your eyebrows shoot up.

“I would say that maybe Wednesday had the right idea after all.”

He laughs in response.

You don’t see it until much later. It’s not until you’re walking back to class from the bathroom when you see it from the corner of your eye. A glimmer. Eyebrows thread together as you walk into a room full of canvas’ splattered with muted sepia, black, and brown—at the center of it all is you.

You’re on that scuffed chair, one leg curled against your chest and the other straight. Your hair falls in your eyes a bit, but your eyes twinkle. You’re giving the observer a half smile — a Mona Lisa smile — like you know a secret they don’t, and you’re not going to tell anytime soon. Underneath is a small white card with: “Go to Hell” by Xavier Thorpe and a double digit number on it.

You raise an eyebrow. It’s almost as good as the candids Yoko takes.

“At least he got an A.”

ngl seeing r*na do the "lets keep our relationship a secret" trope thing in the trailer is already making me go "ugh...seriously?" like it's the final season; portwell got scuffed last season unfairly and yet i'm supposed to believe r*na will be endgame and that's the trope they wanna do? (also it says a lot that gina doesnt feel comfortable enough in their relationship to just be normal about it and not hide it, especially since nini is gone and ej was...not in the trailer at all???? like h u h?)

what made portwell so appealing over r*na was how healthy the relationship seemed in s2 and the mutual respect for each other. there were no secrets, no 'hiding their relationship' (or in s2's case, a budding friendship), just two people who just cared about each other and it was healthy

granted this is just a trailer for the final season and everything is out of context, but that quote really just rubbed me the wrong way 🤷‍♀️

it's also kinda frustrating cuz i liked r*na in s1 and i still think they have really good chemistry so there is a part of me that's kinda rooting for them? in the sense of "if theyre gonna be endgame at least let it be decently written"

Was wondering if you’d be willing to share how you make your comics. I’m very fond of how expressive they are, and it is crazy to me how fast you make them and such. Totally understand if you don’t though! You’re work is awesome! :D

Oh hehe *twirls nonexistent hair* ty <333 tho thinking Im fast is giving me too much credit bc I coulda sworn Im slow as balls! Ngl I haven't made these much comics since 2019??? RE (esp 6) was just the lil push I need to get back in the groove of things. So anyway here's a scuffed explanation of my process. Like all of my art, I'd begin making small thumbnails, general layouts, panel placements etc. But since these are comics, I have to make a script for the dialogue so I can allot the placement of speech bubbles as they are important to the composition (also I'm kinda terrible at dialogue in general so it's best to prepare it instead of writing them on the spot, after the comic's done)

Yes, this chickenscratch is how I visualize things. (1st one is 'Nick Startled the Witch' 2nd is 'Sasha Yeets Leon Off Roof' and 3rd is 'Jerma Vengaboys') To ensure clarity even at a glance or when I'm not wearing glasses. Sometimes whenever I read comics or manga, I have a hard time processing things (call it a skill issue sure) so keeping this in mind I want things to be easy on the eyes, make the elements flow naturally as you read. Something something golden ratio ohmygodisthatamotherfuckinjojoref- Okay ngl, there may be some merit to my speed in making these. Not all panels need to be perfect, so you don't have to spend every waking hour on every single detail. So only detail parts that you want people to look at the most. I remember someone once mentioned that you can get away w/ easy comics if the faces are drawn really well, esp when it's dialogue heavy.

Also that one phrase from DDLC "If your pen is stuck in one spot, it'll leave a splotch of ink" smthin like that, yea I apply that to art as well. Saves a lot of time! And for the expressive part, I mostly rely on physical/slapstick humor. The Jerma Vengaboys comic was a test to myself if I can still pull it off or improve upon it. My main inspo when making these comics, is isismasshiro on deviantart. They have so much comics, all portraying characters in a Tom and Jerry-like scenarios, hold on I'll grab some of my fav panels from them.

These ones, and others have stuck with me from high school until now. That's how you know a composition is so good, and I try to set myself to that standard (emphasis on trying sfgkheg). The influence their art has on me is clear as day in the Jerma Vengaboys comic lol Anyways, really glad you like my stuff :] and thank you for the interest in my process. Sure I have a lot to explain, but I either don't wanna make this longer than it should be or some of the info I may forget.

first of I used my water markers to block out the characters colors cause I didnt like how the watercolor felt on the oklahoma one when I was going over it with my acrylic markers

and then I thought "mh I liked the watercolor backround I made tho" and promptly and to my surprise the WATER BASED MARKERS BLEED... who would have thunk it??

so yeah next time first watercolor backround letting it dry and then colorblocking the characters with my water based markers

second of I do not like the composition of it

I also because my markers bleed so much barely used my acrylic markers because if I take care of any of my possessions its those things

I love them to death and am obsessed with them so I did not want them anywhere near the frizzy fucked up paper the watercolors and markers have created because THEY ARE FUCKING *EXPENSIVE*

Contingency Contract is upon us! It's designed to be fully modular, so just pick which risks you feel comfortable with and have a go. Don't get discouraged by how overwhelming it can be at first. It can be quite fun to make the perfect match between the risks you pick and the operators you go with.

babey's first CC clear... It took me a few tries to clear without any risks, albeit with the "no guards or supporters" thing already in mind. Once I finally cleared it, realized I could add on three risks ($$$ guards and supporters, max squad size 10, 1 base health) without changing up my strategy at all.

Later I did a similar run with the class toggle flipped (aka the Gubbles Learn Not to Over-Rely on Manticore Challenge™). This was woefully scuffed. The first attempt was ended prematurely when the battery in my mouse died partway through, and the second had a number of egregious tactical errors. I know how to better pull it off, but I somehow managed to clear it on try 2 so fuck it I'll take it

I was also able to pull off one of the early challenge missions (smth like "ur attack suck" and "edgy slicey boi have more hp" combo). From that I finally learned how powerful the combined slow from Manticore + Suzu really is, it's like. TURBO SLOW. er, um. extra slow. jumbo slow. molasses. paint dry. whatever u get the picture For all of em I had to borrow a friend's Kyato, and ngl I still kinda feel like I cheated? But when presented with the choice of dual-bladed delete cannon or literally not being able to clear the base stage at all... I suppose I'll take the victory supported by friends >w>`

This is the highest amount of contingency bucks I will ever possess, and of course with such a limited sum of funds and an exclusive pool of things with which to purchase with such funds, it's paramount I take the time to really consider all of my options, carefully make an informed and calculated decision on what would best be wor--

It's okay she's worth it So @lilyblackdrawside, I know you sent this ask much earlier on in the event, and I intended to attempt it earlier, but for a while I just... didn't feel much up for it? Hard content is hard, babey player is babey, and life always finds a way to intervene. Lack of interest, hyperfocus on N64 development, hyperfocus on beating Perfect Dark for the first time, chronic illness, mental illness, going outside for walks on the precious two (2) days it didn't feel like instant heatdeath outside. Y'know, the usual. But given that this is the last CC-- and also the first CC I was even able to participate in-- I gotta say, I wish I got to it sooner. Generally speaking, challenging content usually ain't my thing unless I'm really interested in taking it on. And in the context of arknights, I've been burned out enough by the difficulty curve of the events and complexity of managing a ton of ops to really seek any of it out. But while even the risk 3 CC was difficult... I had fun! Eliminating certain classes got me to better think of how to get the most of what ops I had available. A stronger boss and squishier ops got me to think more critically about how to keep my ops alive through the onslaught, and to discover a pretty powerful combination of slows to crank the most out of what DPS I could manage. I bet I could've managed to squeeze in a risk 4, even, if I hadn't taken it all on in the last two days of the very last CC. Not recognizing an appreciation or enjoyment of something until it's just about gone... kind of an ongoing theme with my life lately, eh? It was my first real CC, but I'm gonna miss it. Oh also the music. The music straight up kicks ass.

Also someone borrowed my Vulcan a bunch fsr?? I know who took out Manticore that one time, but as for Vulcan's eight excursions up to risk fucking ten, I've no clue who brought her along for that ride. First time Anyone has used my support units, really, so I'm glad they could be useful!! anyway everyone look at my (virtual) (anime) (adopted) daughter, she's so cool and confident and she's grown so much and im lov her

The OMORI Nendoroids look so off-putting and ugly..

The paint job is so incredibly flat and undetailed, making them look half finished.

The mold is incredibly flat (especially the hair) and makes them look almost rubber-like instead of sketchy like the game.

The faces are just completely off. Eyes way too small and completely lacking detail, and it completely throws off the rest of the face making their heads look longer than usual and the cheeks super jagged.

Ngl i kinda like the fanart nendos more than the actual ones i've seen online. I'm kinda happy my nendo Basil never shipped because goddamn- even the omocat vinyls look more stylistically consistent.

Don't even get me started on nendo omori's long ass fuckin arms and the scuffed short lines paint job
