I have a few options, since I adore your take on the Stunticons' design so much, and love seeing them represented, especially with expressions that they usually wouldn't have.

Philip's death didn't really work for me.

I see quite lot of people saying it's meant to be poetic, and its meant to be lackluster by taking him from high and mighty to pathetic and a mess.

But that's not what bothers me, what bothers me, is set up with no payoff.

And also confusing consistency.

Caleb got a decent focus these last two episodes, his story with philip is alluded to and slightly dived into, and with philip seeing him and having such heavy focus on his conflicting feelings towards his brother you'd kinda expect his ending to involve him to an extent?

Whether that be him going insane or being trapped with his worst memories for the rest of his life about caleb. It feels more thematic, more painful, to watch him suffer with what he did, that he killed his brother for nothing.

But caleb isn't even mentioned in this finale, he had nothing to do with Philip's death, he's not even shown at all.

And then on top of this, Philip supposibly is killed via rain and being stomped to death......but he survived being mega blasted into a wall by a God child via goo.

So he can survive that? But not being stomped? It's not as if there's no goo remains of him left, king even mentions him being between his toes.

Like I just can't buy this actually killing him when this didn't work the last time they tried it. If a God slamming him into a wall didn't work, how is a few normal people doing it better?

And somehow he turned into young Philip? Which, I don't know how he can do that, could he do that this whole time? ( his powers are really weird to me)

I dunno man, its not like he didn't get what was coming to him, but this doesn't fit with what the show was building towards, nor does it make sense?

The main reason most people thought trapping him forever was a good idea was because he'd suffer longer and because he could never come back or reform.

But like, not only was this more merciful then he deserved (even tho him begging for his life and trying to trick luz was interesting), but this ending doesn't really sound like something he couldn't recover from.

He's such a good villian that felt like he deserved a bigger climatic death that was an climax to all the bad deeds he did, like everything came to bite him since he hurt his brother.

But we just didn't get that, its like when we had so much interesting conversations about him wanting to go home to earth and his anxiety regarding it.......but then it never comes up when he's actually ON earth from him.

I dont even wanna be mean, cause I know what the crew faced, but this isn't something that I think can be entirely put on the cut either. At the end of the day, the team chose this to be how they took belos out.

And its just underwhelming.

Hes the villian. But he's a GOOD villian, with an interesting backstory, and I can't say this ending fits what we had set up for him.

If it works for you, great.

But not for me.

I was fine with him going out being pathetic and everything like a bug, its just that it feels like we were setting up something much more personal then we got, and the fact I don't buy that this would genuinely kill him is the cherry on top.

I'll have time to mull it over so maybe my thoughts could change, but right now, I'm getting strong Toffee flashbacks.

There is still great stuff in this finale, but I don't think his ending was one of them.

one piece straw hat post-ts redesigns part 3: nico robin!!

this one took a decent amount of effort, i actually had to try more than once to get the design right lol

i guess i should start with what i dislike about her original post-timeskip outfit:

i like the kind of spy vibes achieved by the slicked back hair, shades, and leather top, but all that kinda falls flat when paired with the tropical wrap/skirt and bright red heels. it feels like two halves of two different outfits put together. like if oda had a really good idea for the top half of robin’s outfit, but got stumped on the bottom half and just settled for a tropical/beachy vibe since they’re out on the ocean…?? ig…??

maybe this is nitpicky, but while that giant wrap/skirt thing is pretty, it looks like it could fall off at any point. and it doesn’t look like she’s wearing anything underneath. and her heels are impractical. my mom can walk better in heels than in flat shoes on solid ground, but not when it comes to treeking through rough terrain. i don’t think a broken or twisted ankle should befall our adventuring archeologist.

also! her post-ts jolly roger features a cowboy hat, but none of her outfits since sabaody archipelago have featured even an ounce of cowboy vibes!! a very serious problem in my opinion!

ok now onto the design itself:

i initially tried following the moodboard i made, but ended up almost completely ignoring it for the final design.

she’s a multifaceted woman, which was kinda difficult for me to represent all in one outfit.

obviously i wanted to reference her general cowboy vibes she had going on all throughout the pre-timeskip.

i wanted to keep the spy vibes too, since it matches her skills with espionage! idk how well i kept that tho, since i also specifically wanted a lighter color palette.

the palette was inspired by robin’s wano arc outfit, my favorite of hers!! the focus on lighter colors while still maintaining the blue and black suits her very well!! she’s so pretty!! i also wanted it to specifically contrast the deeper colors she wore pre-ts, symbolizing her softening as influenced by her crew and how she no longer needs to hide herself from the world

she’s always going to be a little goth to me tho! her fascination with the macabre fits well with the ideologies of the subculture. i was especially inspired by her deep purple dress with that lace trim she wore during thriller bark, it gives me whimsigoth vibes. so i wanted to reincorporate the wrap in a way that feels like something she would authentically wear!

and obv i like to design my outfits to be more utilitarian, with little details of stuff more useful to robin’s role as the archeologist! like a book holster! she’d probably have a bag too… but i forgot to design one…

and here she is!!! ain’t she purdy!!

her cowboy boots have laces, cause i think it’d be a weird little detail oda would add to clothes. it also makes them look more like victorian women’s boots, referencing the victorian influences of the revolutionary army’s steam punk aesthetic! speaking of the ra… they were a complete afterthought to the process… i just don’t think high necklines and frills and balloony sleeves suit robin ;-; so i gave her these little belt straps at the bottom of her dress pants to secure them kinda like you would hakama. also cause there’s a lot of unnecessary decorative belts in steampunk lol.

her corset is based off this vivian westwood denim corset featured in my moodboard! except i added that fastening thing from robin’s enies lobby outfit! i think that outfit is supposed to be based of a biker’s jacket??? but i digress! the purple embroidery is a camellia! i chose camellias cause they look kinda like robin’s hana hana fruit, but also cause they represent her perseverance and grace! the fringes? are for the added cowboy vibes! the wrap also has camelias instead of monsters leaves and hibiscus flowers! the lace trim replacing the tassels looks kinda like spider webs for the spookiness!

her silver bangles were inspired by the little bracelets she originally wore, as well as silver headdresses worn by the yakut tribe in russia! according to the volume 56 sbs robin irl would be russian, and id also imagine her as indigenous! the belt was just cool and also happened to be silver. the earrings and pendant on her hat are also supposed to look like victorian cameo pendants, not explicitly steam punk but that’s ok!

i was having a really hard time choosing her hairstyle! i wanted to give her short hair, since i really liked that one sketch in oda’s post-ts concept art! also representative of her letting go of her painful past, the whole “hair holds memories” thing. but i couldn’t get it right with the choppy rectangular shapes ;-; her ponytail is very majestic tho :)

speaking of hair! i had to go on a mini rant to my mom about how difficult for it is for non op fans (and from a design perspective) to tell apart boa hancock and robin for multiple reasons (hairstyle, whitewashing skin color, oda’s artsyle’s weird-ass sexual dimorphism, dress, etc). so i made a little graphic to show how they can be visually different while having technically similar features!

and my first attempt at designing robin… i used to just be ok with it, but i don’t like it at all anymore lol

ok so it seems like we have moved on from erik’s pov as his rumour has been revealed and dealt with and we’re now focusing on mathias and his rumour, and i have a few theories/opinions already.

mathias & erik — i’m not trying to defend erik here, but i do feel like his behaviour makes sense. he clearly liked what he had with mathias and to me the way he’s trying to reconnect and talk about the kiss shows that he doesn’t have an issue with mathias being a guy, and it was mathias that put distance between them in the first place while in the meantime erik, who doesn’t have many friends to begin with, ended up spending more time with felix. so, after all the trouble he went through when he last stood up for someone, how difficult it was to fit in and also the consequences of mathias ghosting him, he’d rather not take anyone’s side for now and stay away from trouble. that being said, even if may not be erik’s intention, his behaviour will inevitably hurt and perhaps confuse mathias, so when in ep 5 erik will confront him to maybe fix things, i think it may be mathias that will push him away once again.

mathias & felix — i always suspected that felix had feelings for his (ex) best friend, and that “what does he have that i don’t?” from last season solidified it for me and it actually surprises me that no one else seems to agree. if im right then we’re getting the usual homophobic bully is actually queer storyline (eyeroll), and since mathias chose erik over him, he’ll take out his anger on mathias while also putting more distance between him and erik. again, assuming my theory is correct, i wonder if in ep 7 thea will ask felix about mathias and that will be what’ll make him snap.

mathias & olivia — since mathias will basically end up alone, olivia will become his only friend and confidant. they’ll probably rely on each other a lot considering the shit they’ll both go through and the fact that they’ll live together BUT there’ll be a rift between the two in ep 10 (the synopsis kinda makes it sound like she’ll out him to his mum and i’d hate that) and mathias will end up even more heartbroken when his only friend will sleep with the guy he’s into.

so basically mathias will suffer throughout the entire fucking season :) i do have hope tho and if the show will get a s4 i expect mathias to get his happy ending then. after all, considering the type of show rykter is it just wouldn’t make sense for them to give us what we want immediately with no drama whatsoever.

LaDS random thoughts.

I've seen players saying that they can't see Zayne as a romantic interest cause he resembles or reminds them of their dads or older brothers that are involved in the medical field... Funnily enough, these players always tend to be Rafayel girlies in most cases, and I find it funny cause in my case is kinda like this but opposite places? Rafayel sometimes reminds me to my dad!

Like not only personality wise but also, my dad used to be quite the artist when I was a child. He was a musician and also painted, I remember seeing him paiting a whole ass scene of a guy holding a dying woman in his arms in one of the walls of our rooms, kinda like a greek sculpture style. I think to see him paiting was that inspired me as a kid to learn to draw, altho I have to admit that I've been quite inconsistent about it, especially cause these were always just hobbies and not something that we decided to take professionally; my two brothers dedicated themselves more to music, while I went to the art route just to pass time.

Anyway, the thing is that I've always had this thought in mind and my mom ended up confirming it lol. My family knows I play L&DS cause I have no shame and they hear me yap about it all the time (They don't even know the name of the game or how... Spicy it gets, however), and my mom knows how much I love Zayne, so one day I showed her the three guys (it was before Sylus debut) and asked her to rate their looks from 1 - 10; I showed her Zayne and she said "I give him 100!" (cause she knew he's my favorite ❤️), then I showed her Xavier and she said "80, he kinda looks childish" (he was wearing his hoodie tho, so I suppose for her he looked too young), then I showed her Rafayel and she said without a second thought "200! He looks cool!"

And I was like... "Really? He's your favorite?" She just shrugged her shoulders and said "He's the one I like how he looks like the most"

And listen, is not like Rafayel resembles to my dad physically... Maybe there are some slight similarities, especially with the hair (and I think that's kinda important lol) but I left it like that. After some time, the devs released the lastest outfits of the three guys (The outfits used for 4 stars cards and that were recently released with Sylus debut, I don't remember their names rn, sorry lol) I showed my mom their outfits because I was drooling for Zayne and asked her which one she liked the most. She said Zayne looked nice, Xavier looked like a prince but of course, she liked Rafayel the most, and I was surprised again and asked her if she was being serious, like the previous time, she didn't comment on Xavier but dismissed Zayne cause he looked like a "Mister or Sir" I don't know if these terms fit with what she meant to say tho, cause words in our native language are different, but what she meant to say is that he looked "Too old for her taste" and the way my jaw dropped... I literally told her "You're older than me! You should probably notice him more than me!" We laughed a lot.

At the end I told her that it was curious and funny how she always chose Rafayel cause out of all the guys, he's the one with the role of the artist; my mom laughed. It was probably his vibe, idk but it's clear for me that my mom has a type and if she were to play the game, she'd definitely be a Rafayel girlie ahaha.

To finish this story, unfortunately my parents divorced years ago, you know things irl are more complicated than games and even tho my dad shares some similarities with Rafayel, they're not exactly the same, they have a lot of differences too so It's not complicated for me to see Raf as someone different and not feel weird when I get cute messages from him, however, I think after this is easy to sense how unserious my parents are, no wonder why Zayne's seriousness got me wrapped around his finger since I first interacted with him xD

Well I feel down a Sanders Sides rabbit hole and now I have one fan fic idea that keeps playing in my head:

Remus and Roman are twins but they don't attend the same school because Remus was... himself and his parents were kindly asked to transfer him to a school that "fits his personality better". So he goes to a school a whole district over. He gets along with Roman and he loves him but they are very different people so they don't hang out a lot. Remus also can't stand the blatant favoritism they're parent give Roman. He thinks it's sweet that Roman tries to tap it down but it doesn't change anything.

Sp Remus spends most of his free time at his friend Janus house with his other friend Virgil. Janus also shouldn't be attending their school cause he's loaded but he hated the prep school he was sent to and transferred behind his parents back. Money can get you literally anything. Expect real friends which is why Janus loves Remus and Virg so much. Virgil is actually living at a near by boys home. As a kid his home situation wasn't great and he doesn't talk about it a lot. He ended up at Sanders House four years ago though and it's not too bad.

So anyway Roman has never meet Remus' friends and Remus has never met Roman's friend Patton and Logan. Whenever they come over is always at Janus' house. He knows they exist just like Roman knows Virgil and Janus do but they've not met in person over the last two years.

So it all starts pm a long weekend because Halloween is Friday. ( fun fact my school in gerogia gave us Halloween and Valentines off and used it as teacher workshop days.)

So of course the dark side trio is hype, roaming the mall, scaring people, judging costumes, and trying to find accessories to improve their own.

The light side trio is also their because Patton waited too late to get a "decent" (Roman's words) costume, and Logan was hoping to avoid getting one at all.

The crowds get so bad that everyone is separated. Luckily both sides actually have designated met spots, tho for very different reasons. The darks sides met spot is the horror section at Barnes and Nobles. It's large enough that Virgil won't feel claustrophobic and he can read some Poe while he waits and not have people constantly asking if he needs assistance. It was a place chosen, so he doesn't have a panic attack while he waits for his friends since he's the only one without a phone.

On the other had the light side trio chose the lgbtq+ teen romance section as their meet spot. Mainly Because it'll distract Roman enough that he won't get bored of waiting and wonder out to find his friends before they get there. Defeating the purpose of the spot all together.

You can see where this is going.

Patton has been trying to get on the elevator for the last five minuets but everyone time he tries to get on the same time as someone else he let's them all go first and theres no room for him. This goes on until a nice but kinda rude stranger just days "oh my gawd" and pulls him in as he in goes in. The stranger honestly looks way to well dressed to be here and doesn't even introduce himself. He just starts playing on his phone and Patton doesn't know whether saying thank you would be annoying or not. Janus on the other hand is texting Remus about how just met someone who reminds him a little of freshman Virgil and how he hopes he's not freaking out.

Logan has decided to take the stairwell because he knows that people arr less likely to use it over the escalators or elevators. He looks a floor above him and someone who kinda sorta looks like Roman sliding down the railing on his ass and laughing the whole time. He barely has time to dodge as someone yells " dodge nerd" and flies past him. Honestly Logans so surprised by whatever the hell that was that it take him two whole ass minutes to start walking again. Remus is just having a blast. He didn't think this would work and he saw a pretty cute nerd on the way down.

Roman is having a complicated time. He lgbtq teen romance section is usually in the front if the store but it's been switched with the horror section for the month. So here is is not being able to decide whether he should just stay here because the ia the physical spot he normals what's at or go the the actual section with all the books about the boys kissing that he likes to read. Virgil on the other hand is on the virge (ha) of kinda freaking out. He's happy that the sectionnis getting more love, even if it's only for money. But he liked that it was in the back and away from the crowds of people coming in and out. Not to mention theirs someone dude dresses like a prince yelling on the phone to someone named Patton about whether he should "go to the section of love and acceptance or stay in emo hell". Virgil is insulted enough by this to tell him Roman to please stop yelling and go to whatever section isn't here. Roman rolls his eyes calls him knock off Gerard way and ignores him. Virgil completely forgets how nervous he was becuase now his piss3d and they get into an arguments.

It ends when Patton walks in and calls for Roman at the same time that Janus calls in and calls for Virgil. They look to their friend seemingly coming in together and are about to complain to their respective friends when Janus, Virgil and Roman here a familiar voice go

"Brobro what are you doing here. Hey Jan, hey virge," and Remus walks in completely unaware of the fighting that was just happening. Virgil tries to actually get a good like at this guy's face and realizes that without the make up and general zanny disposition he does look a lot like Remus. Before anyone can respond tk that, an another person asks

"OH God Roman what did you do? Who are they?" And of course it's Logan.

So now are dark sides are standing on one side and all the lights on the other. As the two siblings and their two different friend groups collide. Teen hurt, comfort and angst ensues.

Read through EKM again and again and every time I seem to pick up something new!

It almost seems like Suguru sees himself as a lesser Satoru, strong but not the strongest. He has his own strange fascination and then yearning for Ms Moon, the way he constantly watches her, picks up on all her little movements, attributes meaning to her actions.

When she leaves, he’s not just guilty or angry at what it does to Gojo, her audacity to leave him in shambles, it’s that she chose to leave Geto too. Rejecting Satoru Gojo is rejecting Suguru Geto, who’s built his whole life around the sun. That moment where he desperately wanted to reach out and grab her at that office…then that visceral anger when he realises that not only had she been quietly living her own life, she hadn’t (in his eyes) thought of them once after she left while Satoru is constantly seeking out physical replacements for her and Suguru constantly compares those replacements to her memory and digs up old year books to refresh his mind about her.

I like to think she’s bisexual but mainly with a preference for women. In diabolical Yuri’s writing, she dates a lot of the female cast. They enjoy her gentlemanlyness I guess LOL! She hardly involves herself with men but if her wife were a man, she would still love them dearly. She’s very sapphic in my head tho haha..

•From Barbados & Puerto Rico

Ok this is purely because I projected so heavily onto Hershel that I gave her my ethnicity LOL. Diabolical Yuri au is really to help find joy in myself haha.. Also chose to make her those ethnicities because I hardly see characters from Barbados and wanted to feel represented!

Though, Hershel wasn’t raised in Barbados or Puerto Rico, her biological mother is from Barbados and her biological father is from Puerto Rico. She was raised in a small unnamed village with her sister until she moved to Stansbury alone with her new adoptive parents after an accident involving her father and mother had occurred.

•Facial Features

For dy and in canon, I like to give Hershel a big nose because I find it cute hehe.

For dy, I give Hershel crow feet. No the little lines by her eyes are NOT eyelashes, they are crow feet. Without them, it makes her art just not look like her. She gets them from her (bio)mother.

Another thing that I do is give her a rounder plump face. I think it fits for her and looks great hehe!

I also give her visible facial hair by the sides of her head and by the left side of her face! I give her facial hair because, again, I want to feel represented in my designs. I have facial hair in those areas as well and I think it looks good on other characters too!

Lastly, visible eyebrows. Gave her eyebrows because her hat can’t possibly cover them up, unlike regular Hershel. She’d have to fight with her hair if she wanted her hat to cover her brows! Loll

•Facial Expressions

Hershel has a range of facial expressions that she can do.

When she’s startled, confused, or in a trance she gets little swirly eyes.

When excited, Her eyes dilate like how a rat’s eyes would or gets whale eyes when she’s really excited!

•Hair

She’s got fluffy hair with an exclamation point standing straight up!

•The ring & Wife

The word “wife” is in quotes because she never got legally married. Her “wife” just bought her a ring. She doesn’t like to use the term girlfriend or anything like that for her partner because she has this feeling that their relationship wouldn’t end, no matter what happens to the two of them.

Though, to keep the ring safe, she doesn’t wear it on adventures. Only to special events like staff parties, birthdays, or evenings out with her special somebody. She’s very afraid of losing it.

•Outfit components!

Decided to give hershel a flared out coat, nothing special haha. Her shoulders are quite boxy in her coat compared to her sweater, but she finds the look stylish.

Unlike regular Hershel, she tends to take off her hat inside buildings like a gentleman would. The hat doesn’t contain much sentimental value to her because of her rocky past with Claire.

Underneath the coat she’s got her lovely orange sweater, attached is her clip on tie. Her tie is really just a pin with a cap to hold the string of the other component of her tie. She finds it pretty rude when someone grabs it to pull on it but doesn’t mind all that much when her wife does it.

Green shoes, nothing much to it!

Not really an outfit component but she does have a purse/case mix thingy that she uses to hold items much like Hershel in the original professor layton. She’s also quite the klepto like the original professor haha!

•Pcos and Other things

I gave Hershel pcos to, again, feel represented in the things I create!

I also decided to give her Autism/Autistic traits. In some of the art I make of her, her hands shake whenever her wife touches her or in stressful/overwhelming situations in dy’s writing. similar to mine whenever I see stuff that I like or just to relax myself.

In dy’s writing, she tends to go silent/mute when she gets too overwhelmed. During her college years it affected her quite a bit but she tries to manage it as she gets older.

She finds certain textures pleasing. She loves to have her hands in hair, preferably dense hair. And she likes the feeling of facial hair as well!! Besides hair, she hates certain bedsheets that are grainy so she’ll try anything to avoid them at all costs.

I think not enough people talk about how a lot of the conflict between Philip and Caleb comes from a ton of misunderstanding and lack of communication between the two brothers.

Because while yes. Philip and what he did was utterly terrible, this entire situation was also not putting him in a great position to improve or come out of his delusions either.

Having grown up in a community where he was fear mongered into hating witches, philip wasn’t given a lot of opportunities to consider otherwise or think of witches as anything but monsters. These kinda towns were very black and white about the topic and men who tried to defend those accused of witchcraft were put to death as witches pretty much instantly. So it makes a lot of sense Caleb and Philip conformed, it’s more then just fitting in, it’s also survival. 

Maybe caleb fully believed in witches being evil before, maybe he didn’t, but as philip’s only family and guardian, it makes a lot of sense he’d push for philip to dive further and further into these ideals so his brother would be safe.

This however, runs into further issues, one being, philip has no one to really pull him out of these ideals when caleb leaves.

Caleb, for one reason or another, chose not to tell philip about evelyn, nor did he seem to tell him he was leaving for assumebly forever. So caleb did have a change of heart about witches, but didn’t choose to do anything on his part to change philip’s mind, deciding rather to not involve himself in that at all.

Now, there could be many reasons for this, maybe he was worried about telling philip that everything he told him for years was no longer true, maybe he was worried philip would get the village and it would put him at risk, maybe he was worried about evelyn being exposed (Tho with her being an actual witch, who could wipe the floor with them, i’m not sure on that one)....

tho judging by how much both brothers care for each other and put the others safety how they did, the idea philip would put caleb at risk from their own town seems unlikely.

And when caleb reunites with philip in his memories, he doesn’t see him as a threat, so he probably didn’t do it cause he feared philip.

No, it seems more likely to be of two options, either caleb was worried about putting philip in danger by having him be involved in magic and thought it was safer for him to leave then put his own brother at risk, or....caleb saw the isles as a place that would make him happier and live out the rest of his life and thought philip would be better off without him on earth, under the impression philip was happier there and he was holding him back.

A choice he made for philip, without telling him.

Caleb, no matter what reason he had, sure underestimated how much philip needed him though, and how far he was willing to go for him.

And the thing is, as much as so many people say it’s philip’s fault for not accepting the real caleb, this situation kinda makes it clear philip never really got to meet “The real caleb”, because caleb chose to hide that part from him.

And there is a memory where philip seems to figure out caleb has been meeting her in secret at least by his teens, given he’s older then baby philip but not as old as young adult philip.

He may be around luz’s age at this time.

 Whether he confronted caleb about it remains to be seen but we also have no timeline of when caleb left philip and how much time it took for philip to get to the isles to rescue him. So we don’t know if caleb had left philip when philip was an adult, or when he was still in his teens.

Just that by the time he DOES arrive there, he’s a young adult at least.

All philip knows is the caleb he grew up with, he was never eased into this new caleb who loved witches and the isles because caleb made the choice to not do that.

So when philip finds out about caleb is gone, of course his natural reaction is to think caleb got tricked and was kidnapped. Caleb was part of the crowd who promoted the idea of witches being evil and tricking people, not to mention that for him, why would caleb ever leave him willingly? He HAD to be tricked and kidnapped!

And the he spends months, maybe almost a year, judging by beard growth, trying to find caleb and the dude is completely a different person then he knew him when he finally finds him.

He’s chilling with the witches, starting a family, and he doesn’t seem upset at all about leaving his brother at all? For someone grown up on these stories, it’s not odd at all philip most likely assumed caleb’s mind had been warped.

He doesn’t think this is how caleb naturally is and was hiding from him, he most likely saw the witches as having done something to him, because he never got to naturally get to know caleb going though these changes on earth, so it looks like something it wasn’t to him.

And we’re missing a lot of details regarding the knife fight, such as a timeline, where flapjack is, where evelyn is, what philip’s thought process was (Did he think he was saving caleb, did he go for evelyn and caleb stepped in, did he actually attack caleb in anger because he realized caleb lied and left him on purpose? ect ect) but this was bound to result in some fight between the brothers given the context of the situation.

Caleb probably had NO real harm meant to Philip at all, he’s had to be an adult while still being a child and now he’s finally getting to discover who he is and that magic and witches actually make him feel happy and free. It’s just because he chose to handle things the way he did, philip ended up misinterpreting the situation and feeling thrown away and betrayed by him and it’s easy to see why.

And why philip is so angry and upset by it.

Philip did still have opportunities on the isles to maybe realize things were not what he thought, but given he seems to truly think all witches are trying to trick him it seems like his stubbornness to not look at things from a new angle continued to make him worse.

And had caleb maybe handled things better with him, maybe philip could of come to terms like he did about witches, caleb was the character who was most likely to reason with him and because of the memories philip was still a CHILD when caleb was already changing his ways. It’s not as if he was already an adult by the time caleb was meeting evelyn apparently, he was still pretty young.

Maybe it would not of worked, maybe philip would not of listened if caleb had been open about how he felt at first, but we’ll never know.

And caleb is not a bad person, i’m not blaming him for what philip went on to do because he could never have predicted what his brother would do because of all of this. Just that it didn’t help and probably unintentionally caused philip to have issues he never could of expected. 

Philip had some opportunities to improve on his own when he got to the isles and he didn’t and that’s on him, but i can’t say i blame him for not automatically being happy for his brother given caleb’s own choices and how it makes everything look to him.

Their conflict is driven by a lot of unfortunate circumstances that are out of their control and lack of communication, more then you would think the more you look at it.

Philip’s not forgiven for how he chose to respond to this whole thing and how much were hurt from it, but he also wasn’t set up on the best course to improve either when the one person he cared the most for and had the best chances to help him chose to leave him behind without thinking everything through.

The comparisons to Luz and Camilla are warranted, luz and caleb are not malicious people out to hurt their loved ones, they were just thinking about what made them happy.

They just didn’t consider the consequences of running away from their problems and how it would affect their loved one.

It makes the relationship far more of a tragedy when you consider it all.

Why don’t you ship it?

-Aeris chose Drifter to pop his cherry/teach him how to fuck for two reasons: one, he knew that Drifter was pan and thus actually interested in him, and two, he knew that Drifter wouldn't make it weird or judge him for his...everything. Drifter also thinks he's kinda cute in a weird, awkward, gangly way, so he was more than happy to have a casual fling with him and teach him the ropes

2. What would have made you like it?

-Not sure honestly! I like the thought of Aeris and Drifter being bros who are comfortable enough to fuck if they want it (like how straight men will compliment each other's ass and dicks, but these guys actually mean it), but as an actual pairing they're more just for character development than anything else. I prefer Eris/Drifter QPR too so Drifter is kinda taken in that regard, though Drifter DOES like to crack jokes about fucking both Aeris with an A and Eris with an E to those in the know

3. Despite not shipping it, do you have anything positive to say about it?

-Even tho Aeris never really sought Drifter out after he got confident in his abilities to not fuck up a fling, I have a fuckload of fun imagining them going 'nice cock bro' in casual conversation or Aeris showing off in Gambit while Drifter hypes him up. So they're still very much a fun duo to fiddle with but it's not much different from how they were before

Aeris/Misraaks: FWB ship, kinda complex

I'mma count this as 'ship' even though its not too far off from the Aeris and Drifter thing in that a heatmate is just an inherently more vulnerable, intimate position than a casual fling. However, Aeris is still aromantic and Misraaks is someone I view on the ace/demi spectrum, so it comes with a caveat in that its again, not a ship so much as this grey zone of 'I trust you to see me when I'm aching and needy and vulnerable but I don't want you as a partner'- made even MORE complex in that Aeris treats Eido like a younger sibling which gets Weird when you factor in the fact that he's fucking her dad (though obviously the adopted sibling thing isn't literal)

What made you ship it?

-Aeris/Misraaks was the first thing I considered when thinking about fleshing out Aeris's sexuality. Partially because Misraaks is hot, so of course I'd want to throw people at him, but also because his chill, laid-back personality meant he was perfect for Aeris's tendancy to want to experiment with things.

As for how they fit together- it works because Aeris, as the Young Wolf of his universe, already has a history of trustbuilding exercises with Misraaks, so Misraaks knows that he's a very quiet, dependable individual who'd never divulge any personal information and would meet any of his alien eccentricities with curiosity instead of fear or judgement (and that Aeris is brutally honest, so him offering himself as a heatmate because he wants to help + is curious is genuine). Aeris is also in the unique position of being both outside of traditional Eliksni culture while also being feared and respected enough by them to be a Kell's heatmate, so even if something DID come out about them fucking, there wouldn't be any social consequences to it re: hierarchy stuff. Oh, there would be gossip for sure- but how could you tell a godslayer who he could or could not share his body with? Or judge a Kell for wanting someone so strong as a suitable mate? Not to mention not needing to worry about any STDs or pregnancy issues with Aeris, as Misraaks might for any other Eliksni

And Aeris- as he very quickly found out when sleeping with Misraaks- is a size queen and a masochist. So Misraaks doesn't really have to worry about Aeris just gritting his teeth and bearing it. If anything, he has to tell Aeris to slow down before he does something that causes Misraaks irreparable distress, even though Aeris himself can bounce back from any injury. It makes finding relief during his heats all that much easier, even if Aeris can't give him pheromonal relief

2. What are your favorite things about the ship?

-The comedic relief potential inherent to anyone figuring out that Aeris and Misraaks are fucking. I mean, its a very poorly kept secret if you knew where to look, but...who's looking?

3. Is there an unpopular opinion you have on your ship?

-I literally made Aeris and this pairing, I have nobody to argue with but myself

Aeris/Taniks: Ship. Just outright ship. Aeris is still aro here but honestly I don't think that matters here because the whole thing is a goddamn disaster from start to finish. They're the world's most beautiful car crash

What made you ship it?

-The moment the whole 'OOPS I ACCIDENTALLY MARRIED TANIKS THE SCARRED WHEN GUARDING A NEWLIGHT' moment went down in DnDestiny! I had ZERO recollection of the 'bite to denote marriage' headcanon at the time I decided I wanted Taniks to bite Aeris, so running with the joke was great fun. And then, of course, as soon as you start joking about it is when it becomes serious, so here I am

2. What are your favorite things about the ship?

-That it works surprisingly well given the circumstances. Aeris is aromantic, autistic, and a living weapon- he took the 'you are a dead thing made by a dead power in the shape of the dead. All you will ever do is kill' thing that the Witness said to him in the Black Garden waaay too literally, and nothing he had to do ever really disproved that, either. Taniks is undersocialized to the point of being feral, doesn't know what love is, and is only seen as a murderous killing machine by both Eliksni and humans alike, so their character parallels are wayy too fun to play around with. If there was anyone for Taniks to be accidentally married to, then Aeris is probably his best bet. Now he's just gotta get over the fact that Aeris thought it over and actually wants to be tied up with him...gl with that buddy

Also, Aeris has a lot of really, really hard kinks related to his issues with personhood that really only another guardian or someone like Taniks can resolve. And Aeris doesn't get along with other guardians well enough to form a sexual relationship with them, so...Taniks it is then! Works out in the long run anyhow bc of the aformentioned size kink thingy he's got gong on, bc Taniks is a big boy. There's more of a social consequence to the whole ordeal, of course, but Aeris doesn't give a lick of a shit about that

Plus they have the extra fun of 'enemies to...whatever the fuck is going on over there.' 'The only one who can see the humanity in a monster is another monster' sorta deal. Idk they both need therapy for their traumas but they're gonna do it in the most fucknasty gorey way first

3. Is there an unpopular opinion you have on your ship?

-See above point about me literally making Aeris and thus being incapable of having an unpopular opinion on a guy very few people know about.

The closest I can come really is that the jokes about him and Taniks getting divorced ain't happenin because uh,,,those bite marks aren't going away any time soon. As in, ever. Idk about Taniks being able to shed them out but Aeris isn't getting out of this one in the slightest

Cat Doki! (Pt 4 FINAL)

Here's cat Monika! That paw took me SO long to draw I was gonna make her claws outstretched but I forgot about in the end, drawing paw undersides is a weakness :'D She's the only one two different designs, I couldn't decide which one I'd use so in the end I chose to use both, just in different au's. The Warriors!Monika still has that little curl she has at the end of her ponytail tho! It's just obscured right now. Her fur colors is also supposed to be more faded together, but for simplicity's sake, I kept them flat

She's a Somali! It's such a beautiful breed and it's temperament fits her the most (just like the breeds I chose for everyone else!) She has two names in Warriors, her original name and FoxSong!

Monika is a housecat, and one of those housecats that's not often kept indoors, that and because she always found a way to escape, much to her housefolks dismay, but she does her best to be careful anytime, she befriended some wild cats in the woods too, so if the situation calls it, they can help her since they know the forest better.

She got her first exposure to the life of these wild cats via the "WindClan" that's just close to town. It was one of her jail break days when she saw a cat, thankfully right before she got run over by a car. "CherrySilk" was her name... How fascinating! You'd normally hear that kinda name on those nice but strong smelling shampoo her housefolk uses. She happily explained to Monika why she was named that. It got confusing but she listened, first she was CherryKit, then CherryPaw, then she's CherrySilk! She can even be CherryStar if she becomes the "leader" of her clan (which she doesn't want to). That's so many Cherries.

Monika's little journey to learn about the clans jumpstarted from there, CherrySilk warned her about the territories and the patrols, and wow! Their territories get BIG, well guess it has to be with that many cats. There was RiverClan, but it's surrounded by water, she can swim but it felt risky, she went to ThunderClan next and met another friendly she-cat, LilyPool. She had beautiful claws, which she hid under her tail in fear she'd startle Monika away, so she showed off her claws which are pretty nice too in her opinion. LilyPool didn't talk much, but she seemed like curious cat by the look in her eyes, but Monika had to go home at that time since it was getting dark so she had to say goodbye.

Her next stop was ShadowClan, which she was hesitant to go to and had CherrySilk with her just in case. Surprisingly they ran across LilyPool, who was just as surprised to see them at the border. She timidly asked if she could come with them because apparently there was a kit she saw some days ago that got scared of her, and she wanted to apologize. How nice of her!

They came across the kit eventually, who turns out to be way past her kithood and is the gatherer of ShadowClan. BerryHope has quite the sass that Monika found entertaining as she scolds Lilypool for mistaking her for a kit (who is now apologizing feverishly) CherrySilk had to break them off. She also was not scared of Lilypool that day, she's huge compared to Berryhope and those claws screamed certain irreversible injury so it was the most logical thing to do.

The four of them ended up meeting up after Sun-high (hah, she's getting the hang of these clan terminologies) and Monika learned many things from LilyPool, who's apparently very chatty and knowledgable if you can figure her out. It was almost like they have their own little clan and Monika never really got this... "Clan" feeling before, a community, sure she got other housecat–or Kittypet–friends here and there, but they all keep to themselves.

She soon names herself FoxSong, because of her pelt, her rather cunning nature being able to evade the territory patrols well, and she has a good singing voice to name a few. She's not getting rid of her name Monika, Foxsong is just a little alias for her clan friends.

Curious though, CherrSilk mentions of another Kittypet, a tom who sounds familiar to Foxsong. There's vague memories of them passing by each other but they never talked–maybe because he's a more strictly indoors kept housecat. Another kittypet that has his own meddling with clan life! Who must he be...
