Aoi has never really had anybody she could care for or play with throughout her life, as she was a mythological creature, shined out of the human society unjustly. A real life centaur that had the lower region of a dark blue-mixed-dark brown coated horse but the right-up torso of a human. She suspected she’d be alone for the rest of her life but no… she has been giving a liferafter as she was drowning in loneliness and emptiness

You… a adorable child that wound up in the forest she resided in, alongside a bunch of other mythological beans she had befriended. Most mythological creatures would have left you to die in the cold, scary forest as revenge for how humans treated them but not Aoi. Aoi had quickly developed a fondness over you, picking you up as you slept in a weak shiver and begun to trot back to the mansion. She didn’t have much fur to provide warmth for you but she held you closely

The way you woke up and smiled at her made her heart, you seemed to have liked her already but your excitement blew up when she stepped back, revealing her centaur bottom-half. Aoi was shocked at your response to her sudden movement, your eyes sparkle in wonder and your hands reached out for her horse backside and legs. You like horses? Aoi got her needed answer in no time, yes, you do just like horses! You love horses and you immediately leant up to sit on top of her horse back

Aoi knew you had a family somewhere but she truly didn’t care anymore, she finally has a friend who understands her and doesn’t suspect a landslide worth of housecare work from her. She just wanted to sit down with you and play with you forever, she didn’t want to keep working under Shinobu, she just wants to care for her adorable little human. Aoi grew so attached to you that it became a maddening obsession

Aoi needs you. Needs you to function as you take away all the dark thoughts but yet produce even worse darker thoughts; senses of aggression and overprotection. She winds horse legs up as you play with a cute horse plush she sew for you and kicks at absolutely every mythological creature that dare to find you, hid away in her bedroom

Aoi’s big-sister like passion over you overly thanks her past decision of saving you from that day, a single cold night in the forest guarding the Butterfly Mansion, would have killed you without her stepping in and bending over all four of her horse limbs. She will protect you, her precious little baby sister. Aoi does her best to hide her rotting behaviours from you as to not make you scared of her

You absolutely love her, a pretty real life horse lady and she can’t stand the idea of making you hate or fear her. You’re the best thing that has ever happened to her and she won’t let you go back to the humans, you’re with her now. You don’t need the humans anymore, you can stay with the pretty horsey! Doesn’t that just sound so great?

Aoi flashes a wide smile with a sick sense of sisterly love at you as you giggle excitedly and clung your arms over her shoulders. You just loved it when she carried you around, her hooves clicking loudly on the floor and her raven black tail flicking against your back, causing you to giggle even more. Every sense of affection and joy you express to her, Aoi’s obsession over you and having you as her baby sister grows

“Running from me? Nonsense!” Rengoku exclaimed, his voice booming with excitement. He held you up to his face, a beaming smile plastered across his features. “You’re even more adorable than I imagined! This form only proves your uniqueness. I’ll cherish every part of you—every form of you!”

Despite your squirms and tiny growls, Rengoku cradled you protectively, his grip unyielding. “You can’t escape me, little one. I’m your protector, your partner. I’ll make sure you stay by my side, no matter what.”

The moment you shifted into your tanuki form, Sanemi froze, staring at you in stunned silence. The realization of your true form dawned on him, and before you could scurry away, his sharp instincts kicked in. With one swift motion, he caught you by the tail, holding you up in the air as you wriggled and squeaked in protest.

“What the hell do you think you’re doing, running away from me?” Sanemi growled, his tone low and dangerous. His lips curled into a twisted smirk. “You think I’d let you go just because you look like… this? You’re mine. Every part of you belongs to me, and I’ll kill anyone who even thinks of taking you away.”

He cradled you close, his grip firm yet oddly tender. “Try running again, and I’ll make sure you can’t. You’re safer with me than anywhere else.”

Giyuu

Giyuu’s calm exterior cracked ever so slightly when he saw your small, chubby tanuki form. His eyes softened, but the moment you tried to scamper away, his hand moved faster than you thought possible, pinning you gently yet firmly to the ground.

“You’re running from me?” he murmured, his voice cold yet tinged with hurt. “After everything, you’re still trying to leave?” He scooped you up with surprising ease, his grip unshakable despite your frantic movements.

“No matter what form you take, I won’t let you go. You’re mine, and nothing—not even your little tricks—will change that.” His tone was quiet but resolute, his obsession masked by his usual calm demeanor.

Obanai

Kaburamaru hissed as you shifted into your tanuki form, your round body a stark contrast to your human guise. The moment you bolted, Obanai’s eyes narrowed, and Kaburamaru slithered forward, coiling around you before you could escape.

“Running?” Obanai’s voice was sharp, his mismatched eyes glinting with dangerous intent. “You think I’d let you disappear? You’re mine, no matter what form you take.”

He gently picked you up, his hands surprisingly soft as they cradled your trembling body. “This form doesn’t change how I feel about you. If anything, it makes you even more precious. But don’t think I’ll let you hide from me again. I’ll always find you.”

Tengen and His Wives

The moment you transformed, Suma let out an excited squeal, while Makio and Hina froze in shock. You darted off, hoping to escape the embarrassment, but Tengen’s reflexes were far too fast. He caught you mid-scamper, lifting you high into the air with a triumphant laugh.

“Flamboyant! Absolutely flamboyant!” Tengen declared, examining your tanuki form with delight. Suma rushed over, practically vibrating with excitement. “They’re so cute! Can we keep them like this forever?”

When you transformed into your tanuki form, Mitsuri’s eyes filled with sparkles. “Oh my gosh! You’re so adorable!” she squealed, hands clasped to her chest.

“You’re… small,” he remarked, staring at you with wide, unblinking eyes. “But that doesn’t matter. You’re mine.” His tone was flat, but the possessive undertone sent a chill down your spine. “Even in this form, I won’t let you leave. You shouldn’t try to run… it’s pointless.”

(Forgot to mention this) The Butterfly Pirates are easy to spot with their signature butterfly hairclips. Even if they occasionally don't wear it, their faces are recognizable in the bounty papers.

Merman Akaza makes an appearance with an unconscious Koyuki in his arms! The Butterfly Pirates are wary and surprised, but they are willing to lend a helping hand.

Mitsuri's weirdness is slept on me thinks. It's true that Mitsuri sorta represents normalcy in kny's bleak setting, despite being seen as unusual over something she can't control, but still, she's a weirdo <3 (affectionate) Maybe people forget that Mitsuri is weird because she doesn't have deceased parents (therefore isn't as unhinged as the other characters) and is girly(?) so surely, she must like normal girly things like makeup and shopping. I mean true! I'm sure she enjoys those, but I don’t think those are the only things she would like. (besides food ofc) Mitsuri is depicted as so stereotypically girly that it is unconventional in itself. She made the boys wear LEOTARDS in the hashira training arc. She's weird in a childish whimsey sort of way.

Mitsuri is a fangirl. She gushes over her colleagues at the most inappropriate times, but she compliments the things that are unconventional, like Sanemi's scars, Giyuu being quiet, or Obanai being snakey. (whatever that means)

Ya girl is also so obsessed with cats that her breathing style techniques are named after cats?? Complete with meowing sound effects too. Cat Love shower hello?!??.

Also I feel that aside from normal girly things, Mitsuri would LOVE magical girl things like sailor moon. There's so much magical girl motifs to her. She is like obsessed with cute things that her breathing in itself is super colorful and shiny, with bubbles and glitters. She also does a lot of unnecessary backflips, because she's just that. Extra.

She even has little hearts on her tsuka! Everyone else is regular looking or plain. I think she's the only one with that kind of design on her katana.

And I don't think these are a coincidence. Even in extra materials she literally has a ridiculous yet adorable OC named Big Hand Cat.

Look at her dragon even! Its so silly and whimsy I love it. It's like her cat oc in dragon form, complete with the big anime eyes. Again, Mitsuri would soooo love anime.

She even made a manga where the characters are based on FOOD

In short, Mitsuri is equivalent to THAT weird art kid. She's a weirdo let her be weird. 🩷

Oooo good question! Well, here's a few of my personal kny headcanons:

- Giyu is deathly afraid of kids (not teenagers, kids).

- Sanemi rants to Obanai about really anything, like the "yapper and listener" friendship dynamic.

- Tanjiro takes late night walks when he's not on missions, sometimes with Nezuko.

- Shinobu kisses the butterfly girls to sleep (except Kanao and Aoi, that's because they aren't little anymore, but she still obviously says goodnight).

- Tengen talks to his muscle mice regularly and his wives will listen in because he says the sweetest, cheesiest things about them without knowing they're listening.

- Genya has never eaten any fruit other than watermelon, which explains why it's his favorite.

- Gyomei doesn't go to sleep until he's wished the spirits of his orphans goodnight.

- Daki does Gyutaro's makeup sometimes and that makes him feel a little pretty even if he whines about it.

- Muzan has panic attacks. Like, all the time. He just acts tough.

- Douma frequently tries to "rizz up" Nakime but she teleports him 20 feet away before he can even speak. (we all know he's gay asf tho).

- Muichiro asks Amane to comb his hair and she always does it like his mom used to do. *silently cries*

- Obanai doesn't eat for days straight until someone points it out because he simply forgets that eating is possible and a necessary thing he has to do to live. (this is something I do, but I think it fits Obanai too).

You truly could get lost in the echoes of his voice calling your name as your heart swells in contentment.

GOD. It was embarassing. Some part of you resented how easily swayed you were when it comes to him, acting like a lovesick fool, wearing your heart on your sleeve. But how could you not? When the boy right in front of you has the purest heart out of everyone you ever met in your life. If it was him, you wouldn't mind having your heart break again and again until it could only be recognize as a pile of mush.

"... you're just saying that to make me feel better..." you said pathetically as you layed on that infirmary bed miserably. You haven't missed a day where you haven't wondered if the outcome would've been different.

What if he needed his sword..? You said internally, knowing well he was just going to The Water Hashira’s residence for a meet up. What if he encouter a demon on the way there? Better safe than sorry... you thought, knowing well it's 7 in the morning

The sounds of your steps echoing through the corridor of the butterfly estate, at first Aoi was too busy cooking to notice but the sounds of your painful screech and every huff through your painful steps on the hardwood floors

But your instincts maybe had really dulled because you didn’t hear Aoi coming out of the kitchen

"Going somewhere?"

Aoi says, with the knife that she forgot to set aside in his hand. The murderous aura coming out of her wasn't helping whatsoever...

What you didn't know however was that Tanjiro was already on his way inside the Butterfly Mansion once again, remembering to retrieve his sword.

Though his hearing wasn't that very good after the fight with upper moon 4 making him walk straight to your heated scolding session.

"Sorry Aoi.." you said, in what you could only describe as your defeated cries.

"Aoi-san? What's wrong?.." he said, finally realizing the situation after seeing you sat on the floor while Aoi stood up waving her arms around like a parent after finding out their child did something bad.

Aoi let out a groaned before instructing Tanjiro to escort you back to your bed.

Seeing you carry around his sword though lets him know of your intentions. Seeing that precious smile plastered on his face made you somewhat embarassed... it's as if he could read you easily like an open book. It was as if even if you tried to do anything discreet, he'd found you out everytime. It was as if no matter how many times you run and hide your adoration from him.. that smile would appear and ruined it all.

"Thank you [name], you didn't have to do that...." he said as he sat you on the infirmary bed. "You're

"It's nothing really... but-" you tried to give a rebuttle, trying to downplay your situation.

Tanjiro sat there, comforting you, wiping away your tears patiently.

To help people was something that Tanjiro always aspires to do. He does it even without thinking.. but when it was with you, he can't help but overthink his actions would they like this? Would it be weird if i complimented them? Would it be too obvious? At some point he worries the nice things that he tries to do for you ultimately come from the a selfish desire to woo you. He worries it wasn't genuine and it was self serving. He worries that he wasn't doing this right.

But what he worried the most was that he couldn't stop it. He couldn't stop basking in your smile, your light, your attention, your presence. He knew he was getting spoiled.
