@kimchaybrainrot!! You had a birthday!! sorry it’s a day late BUT I have some soft kimchay headcanons JUST FOR YOU!
When Chay starts staying at Kim’s place, when he wakes up in the morning he says “I’m hungry what’s for breakfast” and this sends Kim spiraling down through guilt memories. He decides then that he’s never going to ever ask Chay to make them breakfast.
The problem is he wants to have a nice quiet morning at home cuddling with Chay, but he doesn't keep a lot of food on hand. He usually just grabs a protein bar on his way out the door and orders in for his other meals. So for that first day he orders them coffee and pastries from the cafe down the street, but any breakfast food more substantial than pastries always arrives cold so this isn’t a great long term solution.
BUT fear not, Kim is a PROBLEM SOLVER. He decides he’s going to learn how to cook breakfast for Chay so that they can spend the mornings cuddling in their pajamas AS IT OUGHT TO BE.
The problem is, he’s never so much as cracked an egg before. When Chay isn’t around (because gosh, Kim isn’t going to let Chay see him fucking up miserably when they JUST got back together) Kim gets a carton of eggs practices cracking them open and frying them. He’s not a disaster, he has to know how to have a delicate touch for both music and murder, but he still gets some eggshell in the pan and the yolk runs everywhere so he ends up with scrambled eggs. On his second attempt the eggs are burnt on the bottom and raw on the top. On this third attempt he gets it fully cooked, but then the egg is FULLY COOKED and not at all runny in the middle the way chay likes.
That’s when he realizes okay, huh, this cooking thing might be a bit more of a skill than he anticipated.
But he is COMMITTED to not CORRUPTING their newly flourishing relationship with BREAKFAST SINS.
So he cracks his knuckles and loads youtube and gets to work. As it turns out, he has a lot to learn. He’s pretty good at knife skills already, but it turns out there’s a whole different kind of technique to chopping up an onion than there is to twirling a switchblade. And he learned enough chemistry to know what common bathroom cleaners he can weaponize and turn into harmful gaseous clouds, but the chemistry of just making some bread is a whole different level of complex.
He still orders in breakfast for him and Chay while he’s learning and just deals with slightly cold delivery for now, because he’s not going to serve anything but the BEST for his boy.
On the morning he finally feels ready, he slips out of bed early and gets cracking. When Chay finally wanders out he’s a little grumpy he didn’t wake up with his cuddle buddy, but then he’s quickly stunned by the feast in front of him. There are pans of sausages and bacon, and crepes loaded with freshly made whipped cream and fruit, and multiple types of freshly squeezes fruit juice, and then Kim is pulling a quiche out of the oven.
Chay says something like “good morning P’Kim and also what in the world is happening?” and Kim responds “good morning my love I made you breakfast?”
Chay gapes, and Kim realizes he might have gone a little overboard, but then Chay is kissing him and hoisting him onto the counter because Chay is overwhelmed with so much love, but Kim has to stop him because “i love you chay but I am NOT eating another cold and and soggy breakfast.”
All the food is delicious and delightful - Chay would have been perfectly happy with a stack of pancakes to be honest, but the big spread of food is super awesome and Chay knows without Kim having to say it that this is another way of helping them move on from their turbulent start, so he extra appreciates all the effort.
Kim watches Chay eat carefully and glows a little more with each compliment and when they’re done eating Chay pulls him back into the bedroom for more kisses and cuddles and a nap to sleep off all the food.
( And then later Chay will show kim exactly how appreciative he is by bending him over the kitchen counter and fucking him slowly and thoroughly until kim is begging. )
From then on Kim makes them breakfast while Chay sits on the kitchen island still looking rumpled in his pajamas and demanding kisses whenever Kim passes him to use the sink. Kim loves it and despairs because sometimes they get a little too distracted and Kim burns things, but it always makes Chay happy, so its a sacrifice he’s willing to make.

I understand people wanting like their favourite two character to interact and that Kim and Vegas can be similar but I'm mainly talking about the fact that most of the time I've seen people make them friends they are friends because Kim hates his brothers Which to me just feels so far from who Kim is, like protecting Kinn cause he thinks Porsche is a spy or whatever is literally Kim's motivation for doing things for like half the show until it changes to he wants to protect Chay as well. Like yes Kim is clearly distant and not close with his brothers but he also clearly cares about them, even if Kinn says they haven't seen each other in ages, Kim still feels comfortable he can call and ask Kinn what is happening at the main family after Chay gets kidnapped
And if Kim hates his brothers so much why would he like Vegas?
I'm not really a big Vegas fan so I don't really pay attention to him, but sometimes people write that Vegas sees Kim doesn't have anyone cause he is distant from his brothers and adopts him as a younger brother and that just ??? I keep saying Kim is raised to hate the minor family but like Kim doesn't really interact with the mafia anyway, but Vegas? Vegas has a deep rivalry thing going on with Kinn, Vegas clearly hates both Kinn and Tankhun, why would his feelings to Kim be different? And even if they were I think Kim would hate Vegas on the fact both his brothers hate Vegas alone. (Even if Kim hated his brothers I think he'd still hate Vegas based on this) 'Vegas sees Kim as younger brother in trouble and wants to help him!' Vegas did not give a fuck about Chay being in trouble? The younger brother of someone he was romantically interested in? I really don't think he cares about Kim being a younger brother. Vegas clearly loves Macau but I don't think he has that whole 'adopt stray younger brothers' vibes that Porsche has.
Idk if this is a controversial opinion but I low-key hate when people make Kim and his brothers distant but decide Kim is besties with Vegas at the same time
Kim had no problem walking into a random warehouse and immediately shooting at Vegas on sight
Like idc if it's just that Vegas and Kim are friends/friendly but it's when they specifically add that they are friends and Kim hates his brothers/does not interact with them but he kept in touch with Vegas?

For me,
Kim and Chay both love each other so much.
I'm very fond of couples who actually see each other. like, in a way that others don't. And yeah, we all know that Chay sees a side of kim not many, if anyone, does.
But I also think Chay shows an honest and true side of himself to only Kim, and that Kim offers just as much to the relationship as Chay does.
It's hard to tell in those little snippets of life we see after the "break up", but like.
Chay is a very lonely person. I know it's the common fanon that chay is popular and has all the friends and skills, but I honestly could see him being just as lonely as say, kinn or kim. Porsche is the outgoing one we see being social. all the times we see chay with people/friends, he's more quiet and reserved. I'd wager he has one friend (the one went with him to the open house and later we see doing his hair / out with this dudes friends vs chay's friends)
And Kim eases that loneliness just as much. And Kim takes care of him --- the polaroids paint a picture of him spoiling him with experiences Chay has never had--because he's been broke and on a scholarship so always studying.
Because so much of Kimchay can be hidden from the viewer, it's so easy to say that Chay is the only one who gave of himself, or offers something to Kim--
But I truly don't think that's fair to the characterization of a beautiful show. Kim gave *everything* he could to chay, to the point of getting back into a life he hated and had successfully escaped from (murder board aside) , just to keep Chay safe.
He allowed Chay to have a whole other home and life outside of Porsche. He eased Chay's worries and offered him comfort. Even when he was trying to investigate porsche and Chay, he was trying to be fair about it--snacks, offering up his own name to make the status quo even.
Remember the Wik shrine smile? Kim wasn't judgy, and he was always patient with chay.
Kim's capacity to love and change chay is equal to chay's capacity to love and change chay. I think they truly saw each other and healed each other. It wasn't one sided, not the love and not the affect that had on each other.

headcanons behind fic: Chay's allowance and KimChay zero baht dates mentioned in long & short
Kim chokes trying not to laugh. “Seriously Angel?” Chay looks at him, lips pulled into a pouty moue like what? “You only take me out on zero baht dates, but you’ll pay people to draw us as cats?” Chay sniffs primly. “I only use my allowance for education and fine art,” he says, haughty.
Korn giving Porsche and Chay a large allowance comes up in a lot of my fics I think, because I see him giving all of his sons and his wards a large allowance. And for once, it's not actually a part of his usual manipulation and control tactics.
(Well. It's not not about manipulation and control, because everything Korn does involves manipulation and control. Korn absolutely monitors their accounts and purchases, not to mention he's absolutely the sort of person to always have a mental ledger of favors given and owed for everyone, especially family.)
However, he doesn't need to control any of the boys' finances to have control over them and he's so present over all of them that giving them access to their own money (vs having them request it from him directly) doesn't give him any more advantage over them or could even run counter to it.
No, I see Korn giving all the boys a hefty allowance as a personal push back against the ghost of his father.
We don't know anything about grandpa Theerapanyakul beyond the fact that Gun invoked his name while yelling at Korn and the mere comparison of them rattled Korn more than the literal gun war happening in his own home. Of all the terrible fathers in this series, the grandpa takes the cake apparently!
Alongside Korn's deep-seated control issues, he also has this weird...thing where he really, really wants to be seen as a caretaker and good provider. He never outright denies his sons and is seemingly very supportive of them-- Khun was allowed to fall back and be taken care of, Kim was allowed to live separately to become a musician, he paid off judges in the name of Kinn's childhood dream, later he supports Kinn and Porsche's relationship-- and the whole fucked thing with Nampheung and the narrative he's constructed around him taking care of her. Even Korn's relationship with Gun is a little bit weird given how much he talks about competition. Like, he desperately wants to be seen as a good provider and caretaker, he just also can't stop being Korn and has that stupid-ass metaphor with the knife and the apple. It's a very crunchy contradiction.
Anyways, Korn's issues aside, I see Korn giving his sons and later wards personal allowances as a part of his personal image of himself as a good provider.
And Porsche and Chay hate it.
(Porsche reminds Chay they're very grateful. Chay mutters where was this help when Porsche took out an informal loan too young. Porsche hisses and whips his head around for any walls that are listening.)
Chay mostly just tries to ignore the supposed pile of money apparently just...sitting there, for him, and spend no differently than how he usually would (it doesn't feel real, digital money is never real to him). However, after so many years of Porsche sacrificing to save money for his needs and future, Chay can't bring himself to ignore the account completely when it comes to things like school or food. He never actually looks at his account, he mostly just squeezes his eyes shut whenever he uses his card for essentials and waits for the system to deny him, except it never does. That does not make Chay feel any better about the situation.
The only time Chay's close to breaking his "no treats" stance is shortly after he and Kim get together. Chay wants so badly to treat Kim to something really special, but. Money. He frets. He makes a pros and cons list. He paces. He has an entire argument with himself in the mirror. He angsts. He takes one look at Kim's happy face over a candlelight dinner and decides fuck it, that's a guy he's going to spoil to the moon and back, stupid blood money allowance be damned.
Except, as established, Chay's never looked at his actual account, so he goes to Cash the accountant to see what his options are for spoiling dates. Like, he's been paying his tuition and the card always goes through at the grocer or noodle house, and Korn does keep telling him his school allowance includes some extra spending money, but Chay wants to spoil Kim. A band they like will be on tour in Bangkok around Kim's birthday, Chay's gunning for special VIP tickets and some extra money for merch and dinner. Surely stupid rich mafia has plenty of money to spare for that.
Chay: would I, uh, be able to get a little extra money? tickets are 3000 but they're for a really special occasion and-
Cash, thinking about Kinn's 3000 dollar helicopter tickets: I don't care, let me just pull up your account details
Chay: thank you so much 🥺
Then Cash turns his screen around to ask Chay how much money he needs and. That is. A lot of money. So many digits. The decimal certainly in the wrong spot. Then Chay looks to the top of the corner and nearly screams because that's his name on the account, what the fuck?
Cash: Khun Korn said to have enough money to cover your tuition
Chay: [does not point out the initial balance was 3x his four year tuition]
Chay...leaves. He thinks. He doesn't know how he got from Cash's office to his room but his next stop is his bed to scream into his pillow until his throat hurts. Fucking rich people.
In protest, Chay takes Kim out the next evening on a zero baht date. They walk along whatever part of the river's nearest to their university to watch the sunset, have to jump a fence and duck two railings to even find a private sitting space away from any other river goers. The view's passable at best, at least free of most industry stuff thanks to the proximity to school but hardly the most inspiring. Chay spreads out his flannel for them to sit on, and feeds Kim dry packet ramen and stale shrimp chips he got free from a university event. He didn't even buy a drink, they survive off a mostly full bottle of grape soda Chay stole off a friend.
(It's a magical evening for Kim, obviously. Ferreting out little hidden spaces hand-in-hand with Chay, enjoying the nighttime air curled together, eating terrible cheap food that somehow tastes good? This is DOING things to him. He will be bringing a guitar and minimum two water bottles with him next time tho.)

Kim and his home / A Meta Rant
Y'know, in a lot of post-canon fics I see for Kimchay, there's sometimes this common theme of Kim refusing to move back home, either because he likes his freedom too much, or he just hates Korn to the point he refuses to share a roof with him.
And tbh, strictly speaking from my own personal experience as an Asian, I've always felt this aforementioned theme to be more in line with a western individualistic mindset, rather than the one the show is more accurately set in: an eastern collectivist mindset.
So I thought I'd talk about it~ Having said that, please do not take this as an attack or critique of anyone or their works, it isn't. Fics are fics, headcanons are headcanons, they're meant to be enjoyed as they are. This is simply an observation I made, so again, I want to yap about it.
See, I am of the opinion that since Chay has moved into the Theerapanyakul compound, it’s actually more in line for Kim to move back into the mansion as well, rather than continue to keep away.
This idea is also foreshadowed by Tankhun when he asks Kim in ep. 5:
Tumblr media
But before I continue, here's a theory I've been nursing for a while: technically speaking, if one were to line up how Kim and Chay were left off in the show, and how their story picks up in the first KP novel in that order, we already have some idea of how their story would have gone, had BOC and DAEMI’s working relationship not broken down, they weren't as problematic to work with, and Build didn’t have his scandal(s).
At the very least, we have the skeletal roadmap of what BOC theoretically would have had to work with, had they been greenlit for a KP season 2.
A short summary of KimChay in the first novel:
During Porchay’s special chapter, Chay secretly follows Porsche to the Theerapanyakul mansion. When he’s at the gates, he makes a show of bravado of justifying why Porsche shouldn’t work there anymore, until Korn sees him. Korn tries to calm Chay down, but to no avail, until Kim pulls up in another car. It’s at this point that Chay mentions being familiar with Kim, and that they have some bad history that was never resolved. Kim corners Chay against the wall like the Theerapanyakul hubby that he is, until Chay kicks him in the nuts for acting all intimidating. 🤣 The special chapter ends with Chay getting dragged away from the compound, unbeknownst to Porsche. Later, Chay moves into the compound around the time Porsche and Kinn are kidnapped. Before facing the kidnappers, Kinn had told Chay to get ahold of Pete and ask for help, hence why Chay is brought to the compound in the first place. Presumably, this would also be around the same time he gets reacquainted with Kim (and most probably makes up with him). During the kidnap scene, Kinn tells Chay to call Pete and ask for back up. The next time we see Chay, he's visiting Porsche in the hospital, and Kim volunteers to take him home (as in, back to the Theerapanyakul mansion); it's implied that they've been spending quite a bit of time together, if Porsche's comments about it throughout the rest of the novel aren't indication enough. The rest of the story has them appearing here and there, mostly when Chay is complaining about the prospects of Kim cheating and/or no longer being in love with him. Lol There are some especially important moments between Chay and Porsche when they talk about their circumstances, but I don't want to spoil that scene in this rant too much.
In the show however, Chay's moving into the Theerapanyakul household is delayed later in the show's adaptation of the events, and he doesn't move in until the incident with his own kidnapping. By the end of the show, he's seen to be firmly ensconced in the Theerapanyakul compound, as we see in his last two scenes.
Focusing on Porchay's special chapter and his mention of the "bad history" between him and Kim in the novel, I'd always wondered if BOC had taken that line from the book and just ran with it, yknow? It would make sense (to me personally, at least), since Kimchay's story is different in the novel when compared to the show.
Although their stories are different, it doesn’t necessarily mean that they contradict each other. And with the first official art of the KimChay novel having been released, it’s clear now that DAEMI/Tiara_ME intend to incorporate the show’s KimChay story into their own (to what extent, who knows).
Having said this, let’s get back on topic: the likelihood of Kim moving back into the mansion had KP been greenlit for a season 2.
For a little bit of cultural context, I'll bring up three points (very generalized, mind you).
In Asia, the idea of children moving out once they’re 18 (or older, depending on the country’s age of consent laws) is very much a western concept. Most children in Asia don’t leave their family homes until they’re married, and even then, they sometimes still opt to live with their parents along with their spouse, so they can save money to buy their own in the meantime. In fact, a lot of Asian households can also have multiple generations living under one roof (I myself am also in this situation, at least part of the time when I go home overseas). That's not to say that children moving out early, or running away, or getting kicked out from home is unheard of, but for the most part, it's a rarer scenario compared to how normalized it is in the US.
For all that Kim goes behind Korn’s back, outwardly and at least towards his two elder brothers, Kim is a good son, in so far at least that he’s willing to go undercover in order to figure out the stink of what his family is connected to. He is loyal to his family—he’s protective over Kinn, and he’s gentle in how he interacts with Tankhun. Despite having moved out, the bored ease with which he strides into the compound shows that he visits often enough that it’s not an uncommon occurrence; the deference the bodyguards show him also supports this theory.
And finally, perhaps the strongest clue: when Chan tells him that Korn wants to see him at the end of ep 13, Kim cannot bring it in himself to disobey his father, no matter his own desire to go after the Kittisawasds. No matter what suspicions Kim may have of his father, at the end of the day, as my previous point—he is a good son, a filial one (all of them are, tbh). He doesn't outwardly show disagreements against Korn, and even during that tense meeting between them in ep 5, Kim shows some level of affection by bringing his father food. And yes, while I do agree that a lot of his smiles and behavior towards Korn is just for show, it doesn't change the fact that Kim doesn't want to disrupt the family harmony amongst them. At the very least—he actively chooses not to be the cause of that disruption.
So, with this context in mind, I’m of the opinion that Kim is more likely to move back into the compound, rather than continue to keep away. In fact, in the book, this is one of the big themes with Kim and Porchay: it’s due to Chay’s presence at the Theerapanyakul household that Tankhun comments about how Kim is often at home now.
It's Chay's presence in the mansion that brings Kim home.
The way I see it, Kim moved out because he had the luxury to do so. And I don’t mean this in the way that he’s able to discard his family obligations and pursue his own dreams, not at all.
I mean it in the most basic sense: Kim—or rather, the Theerapanyakuls—have the financial luxury to allow for Kim to move away. For any person that age, who wouldn’t choose to have their own space if they could honestly afford to do so? Besides that, it’s not out of the realm of possibility that the apartment complex Kim lives in is owned by their family, hahaha! But I digress!
Getting back on point: Kim is most likely to move back in, because he now has a reason to do so, that being Chay.
I've always been of the belief that throughout this couple's story in the show and all the way from the beginning, it was always Chay unknowingly stepping into Kim’s world of the mafia and becoming further involved, not just because of his brother, but more because of Kim’s growing feelings for him.
And then by the end of the show, how it makes for a resounding statement that it’s Kim who reaches out to Chay: he’s now the one stepping into Chay’s world—which just happens to be the world of the mafia.
In that sense, it’s Chay’s presence that ultimately brings/keeps Kim home, literally and figuratively. The way I see it, the fact that it's Chay's singular, enduring presence that would be the one to inspire Kim to come home is what makes their love story a powerful one, and one that can measure up equally to the other two.

Legacy is one of the major themes of KinnPorsche, and the show is brimming with examples. Physical legacies like the rings and the house, and so many psychological ones. Legacies of hate and love, of regret and trauma, of abuse, of honesty and deceit.
We never get to meet papa T(though we get a pretty clear picture of what he was like), so that leaves Korn as the primary arbiter of legacy in the show. In one way or another, he directs almost all of it. And hey, it’s an outsider that wears a tattoo that says ‘there’s no legacy as rich as honesty’ because that sure as hell isn’t a Theerapanyakul motto. There are two specific legacies that I want to mention though.
“Tragically, your worst enemies will always come from your own household.”
I’ve gushed before over the three sets of brothers and how they’ve defied the legacy of sibling hatred and harm that came before them when it would have been easy to do the opposite. I will always stan sibling love and I adore all three sets of relationships. But the rewatch made me actually delve more into that legacy.
The first time I watched, I just assumed that Korn and Gun had always been in competition, always hated each other, and that was the legacy that got passed on to their sons, but I don’t think that’s true at all. I think at one time, Gun looked up to and admired his big brother. I think it was them and Nampheung against papa T... or at least Gun thought it was. Until the events at the Kittisiwasds house.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
When everything goes down, Gun isn’t angry, he’s in disbelief, he’s devastated by Korn’s actions, something that I don’t think would be true with the relationship we see between them now. Now, he knows his brother is a cold-hearted bastard. Tellingly, when he finds out Nampheung is alive, he is shocked back to the Gun he was then, not the cold, angry man he is most of the series.
Korn crafted a new legacy that day, one of broken siblings, competition, distrust, and hatred between the main family and the minor one. And I think he did it deliberately to cover his ass. Who would ever believe a word that came out of the Gun we see against benevolent dictator Korn? Everything Gun said would look like jealousy. As long as Korn kept poking at Gun and the minor family with a stick, he never had to worry about any of them developing a relationship with his sons.
He never had to worry about Gun stumbling onto any information he shouldn’t about Nampheung, Porsche, and Chay. He never had to worry about any of his secrets coming out. Even Kinn didn’t really understand why his uncle hated his family... he thought it was a matter of money and power envy. And Korn wasn’t wrong. It barely took anything for Porsche and Vegas to stumble onto part of the truth, just a little communication.
Tumblr media
The kind of communication that Korn spent years sowing distrust to prevent. (Porsche is sorry, not sorry to keep fucking up your shit, Korn.)
That means if you were to encounter the pressures these king snakes exert, your heart would fail to pump blood—that's how strong this is,"
Korn is a king snake. He holds on tight to everything he loves, and everything he hates with the same fervor, constricting until they can’t breathe, until their hearts can’t beat. His sons have learned this lesson well, flailing in his coils their whole lives. Khun is trapped in the house, with lots of toys and some playmates to keep him occupied. Kinn is trapped under the weight of family love and responsibility, and Kim is trapped on a barely visible leash, No matter how much freedom it seems he has, it’s still an illusion. It’s no surprise that they do their best to reject that legacy from Korn. They actively strive to be different from their father in the way that they handle relationships.
Khun
Tumblr media
 Kinn,
Tumblr media
And Kim all let go.
Tumblr media
We know it’s not easy. They all try to be stoic about it, Khun playing it off like he's not hurt, not missing his baby brother and leaving first, Kinn and his stiff upper lip, waiting until Porsche is gone before kicking at the handcuffs, the symbol of them tied together and Kim who tries to stifle all emotion, holding it in until he can’t any longer. We see the heartbreak and regret but they still let go. They will wish and want and ask, but they won’t be their father, won’t tie someone in ways they can’t escape, won’t hold them with lies and manipulation, won’t smother the thing they love until there’s barely any life left.
There’s a line that Korn uses from the utterly fantastic, amazing fic Wings of a Butterfly https://archiveofourown.org/works/39799374
.... “you can’t sharpen a blade with silk” and I think about it often okay, because the great irony of Korn’s legacy is that in some ways, Kinn modeled himself after the man Korn pretends to be, not the man he actually is. Yes, he’s more impulsive and irreverent — gifts from his mother as he’s told us, but the kindness, the gentleness, the guy that cares about his people, like Pete said, that’s all from the mask Korn wears.
Korn spent a lot of years moving pieces on the chessboard, only for everybody else to wind up playing another game entirely. His sons won’t be like him, and his nephews won’t be like the man helped create (Porsche, Porchay, and Pete are sorry, not sorry to fuck up your shit, Korn). He may get to write history, but he won’t get to write the future.

Kimchay
No, but low-key, Kim has the potential to be so much worse that Kinn. He's like a mixture of Vegas and Kinn, in the worst way. He doesn't have the weight of his father's approval (like kinn) or the weight of his father's disappointment (like vegas) to hold him back.
He's a last born who can literally do anything he wants.
The fact that he's been lenient with Chay is a miracle. The fact that he showed up to the mansion (a place he hates) just because Chay blocked his number was so chilling.
I keep wondering what would have happened if Porsche hadn't gotten them out of there. If he was so intrusive as to show up to Chay's home knowing no one was home and invade his privacy like that, let's just try and imagine the amount of restraint he'll show in his own family home, with access to guards who can keep Chay restricted for as long as Kim wants.
With two solo fight scenes were he held his own against multiple people (except for tht time they tasered him a million times) Kim low-key showed out.
Relationship-wise, Kim would have been brutal if Chay was an older character. As far as I'm concerned, Chay's (and Barcode's) age is the only thing that protected him from having the same fate as Porsche and Pete.
Because I feel like, as a combination of Kinn and Vegas, Kim really would have been a beast to deal with. And unlike Pete and Porsche, Chay isn't a fighter. Chay's power would have been in mental fortitude. Calling his brother out and blocking Kim when Kim fucked up is evidence of a high level of self worth that I doubt Pete and Porsche possess.
Can you imagine Kim calling Chay a pet, in a derogatory way? Or imagine him telling Chay that Chay is more loose than he thought? Forgiveness... WHERE????
One quarell between them and Chay abandoned school, blocked him and destroyed his altar. Like, this boy cut Kim off, completely. And he didn't even have to discuss it with his brother. On his own, Chay was already aware that he was worth more than Kim could offer.
So, maybe Chay might not have the physical strength to stave off Kim's advances. But by the time Kim learns that his behaviour only worsens everything between them, I doubt it would take long for him to learn to behave.

“Angel, will you bring me my phone?” Kim called from the balcony. He heard it chime in the living room, but was too comfortable with his guitar to get it himself. Chay was closer, anyway.
“Sure,” Chay called back. He unburied himself from the piles of notes, books, and homework he’s been accumulating all afternoon, and located Kim’s phone amidst the mess he’s made of the coffee table. Kim had message previews disabled but Chay saw the sender’s ID. “It’s Kinn.”
“Thanks.” Chay drifted back towards his homework, but not before Kim gave him a sweet kiss on his hip and an encouraging pat to his butt. Kim watched him go, full of so much fondness and love for the other boy, he somehow wondered how he could survive the weight of it.
Then Kim opened his messages, and all the warmth left his body in the same rush that stole the breath from his lungs.
From: Kinn It’s time to come home Pa is dying
Kim called his brother. Kinn picked up before the end of the first ring.
“What happened?” Kim asked, distantly proud of himself for keeping his voice even.
“Pa has cancer. Stage four, according to the doctor. Started in his liver, spread to his lungs. They’re suspecting his brain, as well.”
“What? How—since when?”
“Nearly two years now.” Kinn took a deep breath, He kept his voice steady, too, even though this had to be destroying him. “He was hiding it from us. Said he didn’t want us to worry.”
“Bullshit.”
“I believe him, Kim. He wouldn’t—he wouldn’t want to look weak. It’s why he retired to Chiang Mai. You know how he is.”
Another wave of cold. “I didn’t know he retired,” Kim said flatly.
“Oh.” A beat. “He did. Four years ago, now. Soon after…”
“After I left.” All this time, hating his father for never coming to see him. The entire time he was on the other side of the country, and no one bothered to tell Kim. Of course they hadn’t, he’d made it very clear when he stormed out that he didn’t want contact with any of them. “What… what do we do, now?”
“Tankhun has already moved up North to take care of Pa. I’m taking a sabbatical from the company to join him. I—we would appreciate it if you could come too.”
Kim felt his throat close up around any words he might have said.
“Not for long. Only a few days, at most. I wouldn’t ask if it wasn’t serious, Kim, but we don’t know how much time he has left. Please, I… Please.”
Kim hated the desperation in his brother’s voice. Would do anything to spare them both.
“No, I—I’ll come.” Kinn breathed a deep sigh of relief. Before he could do anything like thank Kim, he rushed to add, “I can’t promise how long I’ll stay. I’ll need to see how much—”
“Just a few days. Anything you can spare.”
“Okay. Okay, I… I’ll be there.”
“Thank you, Kim. I’ll let Tankhun know. Tell me when you have your travel details.”
“I will.” Feeling eyes on his back, Kim looked over his shoulder to find Chay hovering in the doorway, watching him with concern. “I have to go. We’ll talk soon.”
“Is everything alright, P’Kim?” Chay asked softly, after Kim hung up. He approached quietly, Kim turned back around, staring out at the cityscape beyond the balcony. He still had his phone in hand.
“My father’s dying,” Kim said numbly.
“Oh, no.” Immediately Chay’s arms fell around him, pulling him into the safety of his boyfriend’s chest. “I’m so sorry. Are you okay?”
“I… don’t know.” Kim didn’t know what he was feeling, if anything at all. “I shouldn’t be. He’s my father. And he’s—”
“I don’t think there’s a right way to feel,” Chay soothed, working his fingers through Kim’s hair. “But I think it’s also probably still a shock? Why don’t we go sit down? I think we’ve both worked enough today, let’s just—yeah. Sit down. Let it, uh, sink in.”
“Okay.”
Kim let Chay take his guitar and lay it aside. He let himself be led back into the living room, which had unofficially become Chay’s workspace during these shared days. He watched Chay clear away his school clutter into an unorganized pile—he would probably regret it later—and then let himself be pulled down onto the sofa, into Chay’s chest.

Kinn the Star
Tumblr media
There is so much to say about this scene in the woods - where Kinn and Porsche are finally on equal footing, and they both take turns encouraging the other to open up.
One line from Kinn here sticks with me the most -
Tumblr media Tumblr media
He explains how he'd wanted to be a singer as a kid, entered a competition but quit. Not because he didn't do well, but because he thinks his father bribed the judges to let him win.
And my mind's just whirring with all the implications here:
First, there's what this shows of Kinn's character - he has all the makings of a nepo baby, and definitely uses his money and privileges to get things that he (or rather his father) wants (see: expensive diamond necklace that no one's ever going to wear). But, he also has pride and integrity - he can recognize when other people are more deserving than he is, and he doesn't want undue recognition. Not when it's something that would be personally meaningful to him otherwise.
Then I'm also struck by Korn's side of this (because I can't stop thinking about Korn's relationship with his sons) - was bribing the judges an act of fatherly care, one of those intrusive things that controlling parents do because they think it would be better for their kid (even when it's something their kid would hate)? Or did he see an opportunity to improve the family's reputation, and couldn't stand to see a Theerapanyakul lose? How did Korn take Kinn quitting, if that was the case?
Of course there's always the possibility that Korn didn't bribe the judges, and Kinn won on his own merit...
Tumblr media
never mind
That Kinn's long-forgotten dream was to be a singer of course reminds us of Kim, who's now following that same dream and seems to have carved out some freedom from the family in doing so. Did Kim's interest in singing come from Kinn, from bonding with his big brother/wanting to be like him? Did Korn meddle with Kim's career too, when he was young? Does he still try to?
And finally, it occurred to me on this rewatch that there's a bit of ambiguity here in just want kind of competition Kinn entered.
I'd always assumed it was a local competition - maybe one meant for kids, where they would compete first in their region/school and then the winners would move on to a larger, national competition. That would make sense for how Kinn could both win but also quit - he just didn't move on to the next competition.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
But the phrasing here could also imply that Kinn went on an actual televised singing show! His family would certainly have the connections to get him on (and hey, they may or may not have a modelling agency now that would totally have hired Jom to star in a new series)...
Can you imagine baby Kinn singing his little heart out under the bright studio lights? How much he would have been adored and hated in equal measures by the viewers at home?
(There may be some who still talk about that weird kid on Thai Idol, who crooned out a bunch of oldies and stole the heart of the judges, but then dramatically bowed out in the very last episode...)

turn this knife the blunt way around
happy belated birthday, @kimchaybrainrot!💛 you're lovely and deserve all the treats! i tried to write fluffy soft things but failed spectacularly because angst and i are besties. i promise there is some sweetness at the end.
here is some post-canon kim + kimchay:
- - -
Kim is not surprised when Porsche shows up and enters the café exactly when Kim is wrapping up his set. Kim has ignored calls and messages from Kinn, Tankhun and the Unknown caller. So he signs a few autographs, takes selfies with fans and lets his manager tell them that Wik is very busy and needs to go. Porsche meanwhile orders a caramel macchiato for himself and his bodyguard and waits until Kim packs away his equipment.
"Khun Kittisawat," Kim finally says loud enough to annoy Porsche's security guard, who is holding his drink as he has never seen coffee before.
"I know you helped Chay at the warehouse and at Yok's," Porsche says, ignoring pleasantries, making it sound like an accusation, "but you have to leave my brother alone."
Porsche has taken well to his new role. He manages to sound steely, not heated, like someone in charge of the situation, and he doesn't have to add any threats. It's an order, even if Porsche has no hierarchical power over Kim. Porsche doesn't know that Kinn is just a placeholder for Kim.
"Okay," Kim says, with his perfected poker face and neutral tone. He can tell from how Porsche squints and grips his macchiato that Porsche had expected some resistance.
"Okay," he finally nods, sips his drink and turns to leave. Kim picks up his guitar and waits for Porsche to take a few more steps.
"Porsche," he says because there is a good reason why Kim has trailed Chay for a few months now. Kim has killed at least seven people that wanted to get their hands on the precious innocent baby brother of the minor family's new leader. "Chay's bodyguards are horrible."
Porsche freezes. There are still people around them, some of Wik's fans lingering around, as well as regular customers, so they cannot talk openly. Kim knows that's why Porsche had chosen the location, but it's funny to see him regret that choice now. Porsche opens and closes his mouth, quickly figuring out Kim's words' meaning.
Kim leaves.
- - -
It's not surprising that Chay barely gets to leave the compound afterwards. And when he does, his security detail matches one of Kinn's and Porsche's combined.
"He hates it," Pok says, sliding a photo over Kim's desk. And yes, Chay looks miserable in the image; he looks small in his soft hoodie and loose jeans. Kim knows how it feels to be surrounded by all these suited men and still feel isolated and lonely.
Kim hates how thinking it's for the greater good, his own safety doesn't chip away at the guilt he feels knowing it's his fault.
- - -
It's also not surprising that another few months later, Chay moves out. Just like Kim, Chay is not made for golden cages; there's only so much that your love for your brother(s) can balance out, and Chay has always been brave enough to go after what he wants.
Kim keeps his promise and stays away, he's too busy trying to keep Wik's career from exploding. He knows his father will end it if the fame draws too much attention to their family. The freedom Kim has is imaginary; it's just a leash made longer, long enough that sometimes Kim forgets it's there until he makes one step too far, and it chokes him viciously.
"Do you want me to keep following Khun Porchay?" Pok asks.
Kim thinks about his father's chess board, the pieces he moves around, and the plans he executes. He thinks about his father saying: "I will fake my death", "the minor family will attack", and "you have to protect Porsche's brother, I know what you've been doing with him". He thinks about Korn killing his own brother, Vegas and Macau being pushed away their whole lives only to be embraced when they are no longer needed on the board, and Chay's mother, drugged and unaware.
"No," he says because he is tired of being his father's son. He makes a choice and tells himself to be brave and be like Chay. "Leave him alone."
Pok nods and leaves quietly.
- - -
Kim buries himself in music because music loves him back.
- - -
"Your new album is so sweet," the boy says, and his voice shakes slightly as he smiles shyly, handing over the card to be signed. His older sister is recording their conversation with a cheeky grin on her face. Kim can imagine that this will be future blackmail material.
"Thank you," Kim smiles, "what's your name?"
"Rune," the boy says, still in awe, as Kim writes him a small, personalized note.
"I am glad you wrote some happier songs," the older sister says conversationally, unbothered that Kim is Wik, while Rune picks up his signed card like it's the greatest treasure. "All the sad ones Rune was playing for months made me a bit worried for you. He still gets teary-eyed about the Why Don't You Stay one."
Ah. Kim is saved from answering it because Rune is mortified and pulls his sister away, telling her to shut up, oh my god.
"Hi!" the girl that was next in the line waves at him with a big grin on her face. "I love your new album; it's very sweet!"
Kim smiles back.
- - -
Your new album is amazing, and we are so proud! We miss you.
Kim reads the message again and again; he swallows tears and thinks about the song he wrote weeks ago, about the tiny hints he left there, knowing that nobody but him would know. He didn't think that-
"Kim?" Kinn picks up right away. He sounds hopeful, and Kim realizes that their father is so wrong. The love has not made Kinn weaker; it has made him human.
"I miss you too," Kim says. He can hear Kinn smiling.
- - -
"I am disappointed," his father says, and Kim thinks nothing has ever made him feel more proud than Korn's disappointment. "Maybe I was wrong about you."
"Maybe," Kim says, and they both know he means, yes, yes, you were.
"I don't know what I did wrong," Korn says, defeated, in a rare moment of honesty, "how all three of you ended up like this."
Like this, he says. And he means stupid, weak and pathetic. He means, why would you pick anything over power, ambition, or being the victor? Why would you willingly lose a fight? Who would you do that for, and why?
"You wouldn't understand, father," Kim smiles, pushing Kinn's ring across the table, "after all, you killed your brother and locked up your sister."
He gets up and leaves, half expecting a bullet in his skull, but it never comes.
- - -
The knock on the door makes Kim jump. Only a few people know where he lives, and all the ones who do know to inform him before their arrival. Tankhun has started to show up unannounced, but Kim (now) knows that Wednesdays are shopping days; Tankhun has discovered the magic of shopping malls, and they are a lot shinier than Kim's apartment.
Kim finds the gun before heading for the door but puts it down when he looks at the security camera. He unlocks the door, suddenly very aware of his messy hair, worn shirt and mismatched socks that Kinn had gifted as a joke.
"Hi," Chay says.
Kim has not seen him for almost two years, so he files away the new haircut, a bit broader shoulders, a sharper face, but the same sweet smile and big, innocent eyes.
"Hi?" Kim answers, unsure because Chay's smile is short-lived, and he looks closer to tears.
"I know you loved me," Chay says, and he might as well kick Kim in the stomach, "I mean, I listened to your new album, I mean, sorry, it's none of my business, I should not say that, I just, well," he keeps talking, nervously shifting, looking anywhere but at Kim, "I need you."
Kim feels like someone dropped him in an ocean, leaving him to drown. There are waves of feelings crushing him, pushing him down to the seabed. I know you loved me. Apparently, Chay still knows how to flip Kim's world around. Kim moves before Chay can flee, opening the door wider and stepping aside.
"Come in," Kim says, his voice trembling funnily. And then, because he cannot help it at all, he asks, "You listened to my new album?"
"Of course," Chay says, and it reminds Kim of Tankhun's eye rolls.
Did you like it? Kim wants to ask, but he doesn't. He doesn't get to have this, and he won't be selfish if it hurts Chay, not anymore, and he's been doing good so far.
"Why do you need my help?" Kim asks instead as they walk to the living room. Chay sits on the sofa, back to looking like he is about to cry, but like crying is not a choice he is allowed to make, and it makes Kim's insides hurt. Chay needs to point, and Kim will aim his gun.
"It's about my mom," Chay explains, "I don't know how much you know, but-"
"I know everything," Kim says, and their knees brush as he sits down next to Chay. "I am sorry, I-"
"It's okay," Chay brushes it off quickly as if what Kim did is not a big deal. And Kim wonders if it isn't for Chay anymore. Maybe Chay has learned that there are worse things than stalking and using someone, maybe Chay is helping Porsche now and has done similar things, or maybe Chay has killed someone. Kim has no idea, and it's making him a bit dizzy.
"She remembers everything," Chay explains, and Kim doesn't say that he suspected that too. He looks at Chay's hands that are nervously moving around, wants to grab them and keep them still, but talks himself out of it. "She told me a while ago, she remembers that Uncle Korn killed dad, and wants to tell Porsche, but she's worried that Uncle Korn will... And I am so worried about her and Porsche, and I think Porsche maybe knows too, and something is about to happen, and I-"
"Do you want me to kill my father?" Kim asks carefully. He realizes that he would if Chay asked.
Chay looks horrified. "What? No, of course not!"
Kim is lost, has been lost since he opened the door. "So, what do you need me to help with?"
"I didn't say that," Chay says so quietly that Kim almost doesn't hear it. "I said I need you."
Oh.
And because Chay is the bravest one of them both, he climbs into Kim's lap, hugging him like he did the very first time, with everything he has, and bursts into tears.
"I don't know," he whimpers in Kim's neck, his tears mixing with Kim's, shaking as Kim holds him closer, "what I will do if Porsche dies. I don’t want to be alone anymore, Kim."
Kim wishes he could hide Chay inside the walls of his chest, away from everything, but nowhere is safe with his father alive.
"Shhh," he says instead, "it will be okay, you are not alone."
- - -
"Chay," Kim says hours later when it's getting dark in the apartment. They are still on the sofa, and Chay is half lying on top of Kim, cuddling like they used to, except Chay is quiet and looks defeated under the weight of the world.
"Mm?"
Kim takes a breath and tells himself he can do this. If Tankhun can go to the shopping mall and Kinn can choose Porsche over their father, Kim too can face his fears. "I want to apologize. I am sorry; I know I hurt you, and you didn't deserve any of it. I wish I could take it back."
Chay hums and looks up through the bangs that are half covering his eyes; there's a small smile on the corners of his lips, and Kim wants to press it there, make it stay, and never let anything make Chay sad again.
"I forgave you a long time ago," he says, "Porsche told me how silly Theerapanyakul siblings are. I am very proud you used words this time."
He's teasing Kim, and Kim can't decide between laughing or crying; he settles on neither, holds Chay closer, and moves his hand to stroke Chay's hair gently. He thinks fate is being funny, giving him something only after he learned to let it go.
"And you did write me fourteen love songs."
Kim laughs.
- - -
He returns early in the morning when the dawn settles over the city, a new morning ahead. Chay is still on the sofa, covered in blankets; he gets up when Kim enters the living room.
Kim puts down the gun on the coffee table. He knows he is still covered in sweat and smells like cigarettes that he shared with Porsche when Chay hugs him.
"It will be okay," Kim promises, and buries himself in Chay.

Favourite Underrated Ship? Simple answer: Every single Pete rarepair! -> PorschePete? Iconic! Brilliant! Phenomenal! Most people love "best friends who kiss", I love "secret third thing". However one enjoys them, though, they're delicious to consume😌 (You might think it's not an underrated ship, but I'd like to inform you that it has, in fact, less than 100 fics on Ao3, so it very much is in my book. I'm happy to have contributed to it by posting two of them, but I'd love it if there were more. Hopefully, I'll get inspired anew one day.) -> KinnPete? Oh please, the power dynamics make me giggle like a 10 year old girl playing with Barbie dolls. Such glorious toxicity, such perfect ways Kinn could use and abuse Pete to his benefit, either with or without knowing he's doing it. You can do so much with them, either pre, during or post canon and I get so excited thinking about it. (This one has less than 50(!) fics posted, so I'm super thankful to the few authors who have gifted me some amazing works. Sharing my personal favourite because it deserves to be cherished 🥹) -> ArmPete? Do I even need to sell this one? It can do fluff, it can do angst, it can do smut, it can do it all. My personal favourite flavour of it is Arm having unrequited feelings for Pete because it's just so deliciously angsty 😇 I love me some pain, I can't help it. (This one doesn't have any fics to its name, besides one in Chinese. I'm devastated. I did personally have an idea for a multi-chaptered fic with 3k words already written, but if I manage to focus on it properly one day, it'll end up being a simple one-shot.) -> KimPete? Oh, you mean the ship I got so obsessed over I wrote 25k words of them platonically bonding, while having Kim think to himself more than once how pretty Pete is? You mean the ship that shares so many similarities with VegasPete, while still having its own identity based on the differences between Kim and Vegas? You mean the love of my life? (Again, fics for this one are almost non-existent, which is a shame, but understandable. One day, I'll manage to enrich the tag. One day.) -> TankhunPete? Take KinnPete's fucked up power imbalance and twist it in a more peculiar direction. What you get is this ship, which makes me so uncomfortable but so, so intrigued. (Incredibly underrated with how few fics it has, but a special thanks to this one for altering my brain chemistry when I first read it.) -> BigPete? Rivals who might engage in hate sex from time to time? Pals who share the same fate and understand it and bond over it? Pick your poison and roll with it, because it's delicious either way. I'm personally team "They hate each other" because it's more fun that way 😉 (Almost nothing here again, which is a shame, but again understandable. I had forgotten they shared 2 lines of dialogue together in the show, I deadass thought they never talked to each other, which was great for me lol. Here's one fic written by the same person who wrote the KinnPete one, in case you'd like something cool to read.) -> TayPete? This one's for pure aesthetic reasons because have you seen Tay, have you seen Tay at the auction, have you imagined Pete and Tay fucking at the auction, because I surely have 🙂 It's such a gorgeous image, I lose focus for a hot minute when it comes to me. (This one's tricky, because most people write Vegas/Pete/Tay, which is a glorious choice and I support it, and my talented friend is writing a very good VPT fic, but I'd love it if there were more fics that focus on these two only. They're too powerful, I can't get enough.) I think those are all the ones I'm personally obsessed with. All I have to say is, Pete deserves all the beautiful men and what they'd like to do with him ❤️

Kim meets Porchay while Chay is working his minimum wage job in fast food or something, he instantly finds Chay adorable and keeps going back to Chay's work, trying to talk to him/work up the courage to ask him on a date. Kim is so down bad, he even gets a job there. It's disgusting and Kim lasts exactly 1 hour, but in that time he manages to ask Chay on a date.
During that time Kim worked in the kitchen, and he was okay making the food until he realized the deep fryers were messing with his hair and his skin started to feel disgusting so he kept complaining and not wanting to go near the deep fryers, he was then moved to try working the cash registers, but he couldn't handle having to be nice and eventually Chay had to stop him from jumping over the counter to fight a rude customer.
Eventually Kim manages to get a date with Chay, their first date is low-key and easy, they go see a movie or something easy. They easily talk and get closer.
Then Kim decides he wants to take Chay out on a really fancy and nice date so he sets up a reservation for one of his families fancy restaurants, and on the way there in the car Chay is like, 'why are we going to the fancy part of town?'
And Kim's like 'oh I wanted to take you somewhere nice'
and Chay's like "I hope it's not one of those fancy restaurants where everyone is all dressed up I can't stand rich people"
Kim breaks out into a sweat 'What.'
Chay starts going on a whole rant about how he hates all rich people and eat the rich and whatever,
and then Kim has to find a way to tell Chay how they are going to one of those fancy rich restaurant and when they get there, and they are served quickly and Chay can see all the staff giving him a look as he isn't dressed right for the restaurant but Kim tells him to ignore them,
But Chay gets kinda suspicious and is like why are they being so nice to you? omg are you one of those rich people?
Kim has to make up some lie about how he won the reservation in a contest or something, and Chay believes him, for the moment.
And then when they order food the menu is all in English or French or some other language and Chay cant read it so he starts making fun of rich people and Kim's is like yeah haha I also definitely have no idea what this menu says…
Chay has to use the bathroom and the waiter comes while Chay is gone so Kim just orders what he thinks Chay would like, he also orders a really expensive and fancy wine.
When it comes Chay is like is this part of the contest too? Because he knows from Porsche that the wine is expensive, and Kim has to be like uhhhh yeah it's part of the contest don't worry
Anyway they get their food and start eating and Chay is making fun of all the cutlery and is like who even needs this much cutlery omg rich people are so stupid lmao and Kim is like yeah ha ha, but in his mind he is dying cause there is no way he is going to be able to pretend he is poor forever he could barely handle an hour in a minimum wage job,
What if he wanted to invite Chay to his place? Where do poor people live? Does he need to buy a run down apartment complex? and Chay hadn't questioned Kim on his car cause Kim only access to one of his cars at the moment which was thankfully his most normal one but did that mean Kim wouldn't be able to drive any of his fancy cars with Chay?
Anyway Kim uses the wrong cutlery on purpose to match Chay and not expose himself as rich but for some reason Kinn is also in the restaurant that night.
Kinn sees Kim eating with the wrong cutlery, and he just HAS to get up and come over to Kim, and he just starts going on this whole thing about how Kim is acting like a savage for using the wrong cutlery and how Kim is embarrassing himself and then Kinn also noticed Kim is dressed in like jeans and goes on about that too, the whole time Kim is just glaring at Kinn trying to telepathically communicate that if Kinn fucks this up for him he will be sicking Thankhun on Kinn.
Somehow, Kinn never reveals that they are related despite thinking Kims death glare was just his normal face, In Chays mind he thinks a random rich guy came up to them and started lecturing them about proper dining etiquette unprompted.
Once Kinn leaves and Chay is like 'omg this is why I hate rich people, they always think they are better than everyone else, promise me if you win another contest not to take me to another fancy restaurant.'
Anyway, Kim spends months pretending he is poor, for the first few months he just always insist they go to Chay's instead of his. But then he does end up buying a run down apartment complex, and even when he gets to pick the nicest apartment in the building its still horrible. He tries to make it look lived in but he doesn't really know what to put in it that a poor person would have so he leaves it mostly unfurnished.
Anyway because of all this Chay thinks Kim is even poorer than him and so Chay always insists on paying for Kim on dates (when Kim manages to pay before him Chay gets upset cause he thinks Kim is spending too much on him that he should really be keeping for himself!), or he'll buy Kim like little trickets and things or something but then Kim keeps all of Chay's gifts at his actual apartment so Chay thinks Kim keeps getting robbed or something.
Eventually Chay finds out Kim is rich and he does not take it well.
But once they work it out and get back together Chay takes full advantage of Kim's eagerness to buy everything he wants but to Chay that just means like being able to order more then one thing or something other than the cheapest item at a restaurant,
while still pretending to be poor Kim gets Chay like designer clothes or really nice jewelry or something for Chay's birthday and Chay lowkey thinks Kim is either a really good thief or a scam artist or something but also he's into it

KP Anniversary Event Week Five; Prompt "Favorite Platonic Relationship" and "Guilt"
Porchay is sitting on his bed, scrolling through social media when he hears a knock on his door. He knows it's his brother. Who else would come to his door?
"Chay, why didn't you go to your interview?" Porsche asks in a surprisingly calm voice as he enters Porchay's room.
Porchay sighs and sets his phone down on the bed. He knew Porsche would find out eventually but he was hoping it would be later.
"Why do you care," Porchay hates the words as soon as he says them. He sees his brother flinch, but his face slips with a sad look. Porchay can't look at his brother. He sighs and looks down at his hands in his lap.
"Chay, I know things have been difficult lately,” Porsche says.
Porchay doesn't even let him finish.
“You have no idea what I’ve been going through,” Porchay says and brings his knees to his chest. “Hia,” Porchay’s voice cracks.
Porsche sits on the bed next to him and wraps an arm around his shoulder. Porchay’s brain tells him to shake it off of him, to tell Porsche to leave him alone but his heart tells him to stay. To soak in his brother’s comfort. Chay’s brain tries to remind him of why he is angry with Porsche. His brain tries so hard to keep his rebellious streak burning
But trying to maintain anger can be exhausting. Who knew?
Porchay leans into his brother’s side and cries into his shoulder. Porsche doesn’t say anything; he just silently strokes a hand up and down Chay’s back. The hand occasionally comes up to the back of his head and just rests there.
Porchay has missed his brother so much.
Porchay misses how they used to be. He misses how easily he could tell Porsche anything. And now there is a sea of decisions and hidden truths between them.
Porchay hates it so much.
Porchay is just… so tired.
“I’m sorry I’ve been a shitty brother recently,” Porsche says, breaking the silence. “I miss you.”
Porchay cries harder.
“Hia,” Porchay sobs. “I’m so tired.”
“I know. I’m sorry,” Porsche's voice cracks, squeezing Porchay harder.
“Do you know how terrifying it is? Knowing that you joined the mafia to pay for the house? For my schooling? You could have died and I would have never known,” Porchay rasps. “You didn’t let me have a say in it. I never wanted you to carry that burden alone. I wanted us to be together.”
Porchay doesn’t know how he manages to finally say it. But it feels like he can breathe again.
“I’m sorry,” Porsche whispers, stroking the back of Porchay’s head. “I’m sorry for leaving you like that. I knew you would tell me not to go. It’s why I lied. It’s ingrained in me to protect you and I’ll never be sorry for that. But you’re right. You’re an adult now. I’m sorry for not seeing that earlier.
"I miss our old life so much. Before… before everything," Porchay sobs.
Porsche doesn't say anything but his grip on Porchay grows impossibly tighter.
After a few minutes of Porsche comforting Porchay, he finally speaks.
"There are definitely some things I wish we could have back. The house. The safety,” Porsche pauses and laughs a little. “The relative safety. When we didn’t have loan sharks breathing down our necks, anyway. The time we spent together. Even when I was barely home between jobs and you were busy with school — we always still managed to find time to spend together," Porsche says quietly. Porchay buries his face into Porsche's neck and just tries to breathe normally.
"But," Porsche continues. "But, I'm happy we don't have to starve anymore. We don't have to worry about whether we'll have enough money to pay for school and the bills. And…" Porsche hesitates. "I'm happy with Kinn. Porchay, he makes me so incredibly happy. I can't imagine my life without him anymore."
Porchay continues to cry into Porsche's neck. If Porchay were a more selfish person he would scream about how it was Kinn who ruined his life. Kinn took Porsche away from him. Kinn, and whatever familial obligation Kim feels he has to Kinn, took Kim away from him. Or, took away what he thought he had with Kim. Either way, Kim took his heart with him; so in a sense, Kinn took that away too. If Porchay were a more selfish person, he'd give Porsche an ultimatum. Him or Kinn.
But Porchay can't be that selfish. He doesn't want to be either. He does want his brother to be happy. It's what he deserves after what the world put him through. And if he finds that happiness in a mafia lord who happens to be kind of dorky and awkward, Porchay won't begrudge him. It would be incredibly hypocritical of Porchay, considering his heart is still in Kim's hands.
Porchay and Porsche continue to hold each other. Porsche continues to stroke the back of his head or his back. And Porchay manages to calm down a little bit. He calms down enough to actually speak.
"I don't know if I want to study music anymore," Porchay rasps, voice worn from crying. "I don't know anything anymore."
"You don't have to make a decision right now," Porsche replies. "You can take whatever time you need to figure it out again."
Porchay blinks. He wasn't expecting that response. He was expecting the "you have to go to university. It was our parents' dying wish."
But that wasn't true, was it? Their mom was still alive. Verbally unresponsive, but alive. And Porchay has a feeling that their real wish was for them not to get involved in the mafia. In the family business, as it were. But the universe must have a sick sense of humor — making both Kittisawat brothers fall for mafia boys.
"You're not going to ask me why? Tell me I have to go to university?" Porchay asks.
Porchay can hear and feel Porsche sigh deeply. Porsche moves Porchay's head so they are looking each other in the eye.
"Your happiness is the most important thing to me," Porsche says seriously. "I'm not going to make you do anything you don't want to do. You are capable of making your own decisions and you should be making them — not me, and not our parents. As for the reason why your feelings about pursuing music have changed… you'll tell me when you're ready. And if you never want to tell me, then that's okay too."
Porchay feels like he could burst into tears again. He doesn't think he's cried so much since… since the day at Kim's.
Kim.
Porchay hates how his heart still clenches when he thinks about him. Thinks about the song that Kim sent him. Thinks about the dead bodies at Yok's bar that he fucking knows Kim was responsible for. Thinks about the night at the club when Kim stopped him from taking drugs. Thinks about how Kim broke him outside of his apartment. How he knows Kim was the one to save him from the warehouse when he was kidnapped. How Kim was the one who kissed him. How Kim was the one who looked at him like Porchay was the only thing he ever wanted to look at.
Porchay hates how much he still doesn't hate Kim. Not even a little bit.
“Did P’Kinn ever tell you about his younger brother?” Porchay asks.
“Kim?” Porsche questions. “A little. I know he came to the warehouse when we were in trouble. But Kinn says he left the business and avoids coming to the main house. Kinn always said it feels like he doesn’t have a younger brother. I know he wishes they were closer. Why?”
Porchay sighs.
“P’Kim is Wik.”
“Wait, he’s that singer your obsessed with?”
Porchay feels his heart shrivel. It’s not Porsche’s fault. He doesn’t know. But hearing his brother say it like that breaks him again.
“Hia,” Porchay cries. “He told me he just used me to get information on you but he followed me when I went out with my friends. He was the one who killed all those guys at Hum Bar.” Porchay knows he’s not making sense to Porsche. But once he starts finally telling Porsche, it’s like he can’t stop. “He wrote me a song. He gave me guitar lessons and he flirted with me and he kissed me after I confessed to him and,” Porchay stutters. “And I thought he liked me back. He made me think he liked me too.”
Porsche doesn’t say anything. He just holds Porchay as he cries out his explanation. Porchay still feels his steady hand running up and down his back in an attempt to comfort him. And then Porchay feels Porsche sigh.
“I knew it was him at Yok’s. There was video footage of the attack. And I always thought it was weird that he went to rescue you. Kinn told me Kim hasn't been out on a mission since he moved out of the main house at 17,” Porsche says slowly. Like he’s piercing things together. Porchay has no idea what puzzle his brother is looking at, but he thinks that Porshe is jumping to the wrong conclusion.
“I confronted him about the mafia stuff. He told me he only got close to me because he wanted information on you. I asked him if any of it was real and he just said he was sorry and walked away from me,” Porchay says quietly. “I don’t know why after that he followed me. Why he protected me at Yok’s. Or why he sent me that fucking song. I just want him to stop playing games with my heart.”
Porsche hums a little bit. Like he’s processing what Porchay is saying and organizing something in his head. After a beat, Porsche speaks.
“You know… Kinn, in the beginning, had a really hard time telling me the truth about his feelings. Telling himself the truth, really,” Porsche says. “With the environment they grew up in, with who their father is and how he raised them, it was hard for Kinn to let himself be selfish. It was hard for him to trust me when he felt like he couldn’t trust himself. It took Kinn being handcuffed to me for three straight days for him to actually tell me how he feels.”
“Why are you telling me this,” Porchay asks quietly. He doesn’t like what Porsche is telling him. Not only because it solidifies the fact that Porchay couldn’t hate Kinn — but it makes something akin to hope flutter in his chest.
“Because I have a feeling that, just because he moved out of here when he was a teenager, doesn’t mean Kim isn’t as emotionally constipated and traumatized as Tankhun and Kinn,” Porsche replies.
Porchay tries to squash the hope that bubbles inside of him. He can’t let it grow. He can’t let himself believe that Kim could be feeling regretful. That Kim just doesn’t know how to express his emotions like a normal human being. Porchay can’t hope again because if he does and it turns out that Kim truly doesn’t care… Porchay knows his heart won’t survive that.
“I told you there was footage from the attack at Yok’s,” Porsche says. “Kim is a hell of a fighter. And you don’t fight like that for someone you don’t care about.”
“Hia,” Porchay trembles. “I can’t. I can’t let myself hope again. I don’t know if my heart can take another rejection.”
Porsche wraps his arms around his brother’s shoulders and lets him cry again. Porchay melts into the comfort of the hug. Above him, he hears Porsche speak again.
“You’ll make it through this. And I’ll be with you every step of the way if you’ll let me. I love you so much,” Porsche rasps.
Porchay cries harder and grips his brother tighter, letting whatever anger he was trying to make himself feel dissipate. Porchay lets himself sink into the feeling of comfort and lets it all out.

Hi friend!!
Kim and Porsche bonding headcanon?
Kimchay vibe of kim and chay are commuters on a bus that breaks down
Mwhaaa 😚
😘❤️.
for Kim & Porsche-- everyone thinks them meeting will be a total disaster. Kinn's thinking about all the ways Kim was an utter nightmare to Tawan. Khun warns Porsche Kim doesn't do well with too much exuberance. Pete tells Porsche Kim has the charming personality of a chainsaw and to call him if he gets stabbed so he can laugh. the guards are divided between being smug that Kim hates them, so will surely hate Porsche for once being one of them, or being smug that Porsche is extremely obnoxious and Kim hates obnoxious things.
but of course, this isn't the case at all. Kim and Porsche are two halves of a whole dumbass and get on by setting the house on fire. Porsche tells everyone he loves his new nong. Kim rolls his eyes and claims Porsche's space as his space. the only person not losing his mind is Chay, who's just delighted by this turn of events up until Porsche starts interrupting their date nights to hang out with them, this is not good bro behavior hia.
re commuters, my mind actually went somewhere else! I'm picturing Chay and Kim carpooled with someone to a friend thing, driver had an emergency and had to leave, whoops they lost track of time while canoodling and are now stranded at the thing. Kim goes to call a cab, Chay says that's silly when the bus stop is right there. Kim looks completely mystified by the concept of public transportation, now Chay has to get him on board immediately 👀
and so begins Kim's afternoon of hell. not because of the bus thing, Kim's actually eager to learn more (also: watch Chay be confident and smug while holding his hand through it, Kim only has the most correct priorities). this is just the universe conspiring to ruin his first commuter experience. there's rush hour traffic. a high school got out so everyone's packed in like sardines. he and Chay are seated on separate sides of the aisle. a woman's purse keeps hitting his head but he feels too bad she's standing to say anything about it. it's been an hour and they still have so much city to cover.
by the time the bus breaks down on them, Kim's just relieved to get off this fucking thing and never step foot on one ever again. Chay consoles him the whole taxi ride home.

About Kim
Each of Theerapanyakuls son has their own reason for their nature.
Khun - is a bit crazy dramaqueen because of his past kidnapping.
Kinn - is cold and calculating because he's the heir of the Main Family. In the past he's a sweet child but after becoming the heir, his father (fck u Korn) molded him to become how he is now, perfect puppet heir for Korn to use.
Vegas - is hot and sexy cunning, manipulative, and sadistic because of his father's abuse (fck u Gun).
Macau - (in my headcanon) is somewhat normal because Vegas loves him. I like to imagine that his brother wants Macau to receive enough love that their father can't give to them, but of course not in the I-want-Macau-to-have-a-normal-life way. Vegas still teaches him how to be a good mafioso, while protecting him from Gun's abuse (fck u Gun). And because he's still a teenager, I believe Macau has typical Gen-Z behaviour. Basically, he's a ✨little shit✨ lol (no one can convince me otherwise).
And Kim? What makes him how he is now?
We know he distances himself from his own family. He's not living like a mafia, doesn't help the Family's bussiness, legal or illegal (or does he? I don't remember), is a popular musician with stage name "WIK", and basically live his life according to his own wishes.
But he investigates his own family. He's suspicious of his own father. And seeing his detective board, he has been doing it for some time (although he's being played right into his father's palm). Why'd he do that? What made him suspicious of Korn?
Is it his hobby? Being a famous musician (from a mafia family, secretly) while undercovering as a detective is cool af bro. Definitelly feels like a protagonist from some action movie.
Or is he in his emo phase? Like, why am I born in this world? Am I really my father's son? I don't care if everyone hate me, I will uncover Theerapanyakul's sin and annihilate the sinner.
Or he's just bored? Like, Handsome? Check. Rich? Check. Famous? Check. Lets spice this boring life with some detective action. What's better than investigating your own mafia family to entertain this boring life?
Or he just simply cares for his family? He loves them (his brothers) so much that he wants to prove that their father is evil and just want to protect Khun and Kinn.

Progression, Chapter 21: Preview
“Would you like me to call Pete?”
“No!” Tankhun says, feeling a buzzing, hurt rage in his head as he updates his Instagram feed. Again. Still no pictures or announcements.
“Why haven't they posted anything?!” he says, tossing his phone to the side, “Pete just posted the kittens yesterday! Vegas posted a story of Pete helping him cook breakfast with a heart as the caption this morning! Where’s the baby? Vegas was NOT holding some doll in the cemetery, and he referred to Pete as Papa!”
“Maybe they adopted her and it isn't finalized yet,” Arm says gently, “Or maybe they are fostering her and can't post pictures. We don't know the situation, which is why I am offering to call and ask Pete for clarification. We talk to him pretty regularly, and I don't see him keeping this from us unless he had a reason.”
“The reason is Vegas,” Tankhun mutters, “He probably told Pete to not tell us. He's rude like that.”
Arm lets out a sigh and takes his hand, “Tankhun. You have been worried sick about Vegas the last few nights-”
“Lies!”
“You said you thought Douglas hurt him too, and then you have been blaming yourself ever since,” Arm continues, “Why don't you…talk to him?”
Tankhun stares at his deranged boyfriend incredulously, “Absolutely not.”
“You said you used to babysit him a lot,” Arm says quietly, “And when you made a mad dash out of the safe room to get to me during the attack-”
“To save you, which I did!”
“You crossed paths with him, and he left you alone,” Arm says, “And when we found out about him getting shot, you broke down and cried.”
“Hmph!” Tankhun says, because it is much more preferable than admitting Arm is telling the truth.
“He's been the main thing keeping you from actually hanging out with Pete in person, but he never stopped it from happening the few times it has occurred,” Arm says, now massaging his hand, “He seems to be very content out of the business as well, and you just found out you, Kinn, and Kim may share an abuser with him-”
“We don't know if that's true,” Tankhun says, feeling his voice grow hoarse, “He may have just had to pee.”
Arm breathes out, “...And he just so happened to drive out of his way to a cemetery to pee on the freshly dug grave of a man associated with your family?”
“...Fine. That is far-fetched,” Tankhun says, “Maybe it was a witchcraft ritual, and that is why he was so okay with us holding a fake seancé. Vegas had a fixation on witchcraft when he was eight! I still think he likes the aesthetic, to be honest, but when he was little? He and I would be dark witches, and Kim would be a nice witch. That's all he would play for a while. Uncle Gun hated it, but Auntie Milan thought it was funny, especially when Vegas made a Ouija Board and we insulted our stupid, dead grandfather through it because we both hated him-”
“Tankhun,” Arm cuts in, “You're doing it again.”
Tankhun tilts his head at that, “What do you mean?”
“Talking about your cousin with fondness.”
“I did no such thing!” Tankhun says with a gasp.
“Lies,” Arm says simply, and that is true, but still!
“Will you be okay with never knowing for sure if Douglas hurt him?” Arm asks, “Because I would understand if that is the case. There is a lot of bad blood, and the feud your father had with your uncle strained things between you and your cousins. If you want to keep your distance, I will support you. But I thought…I don't know. We have been together long enough-”
“Two years in a little over a month,” Tankhun reminds him.
“It's coming up very soon,” Arm says, a small smile forming on his lips, “You have opened up to me a lot during that time. More than you ever did when I was just your friend and your guard. So I know enough to know that at one point, you really cared about Vegas. Loved him, even. And when we found out about Namphueng, you told me you wondered if we had fought for the right side.”
Tankhun looks away at that, “...I felt that way because Pa faked his death, let us mourn him, and got people killed. And because Kinn told me Pa kept Namphueng locked in a room and away from her sons. I also felt that way because he told me Uncle Gun saw her and cried, which wasn't like him. Uncle Gun wasn't good either. He became despicable too. But he wasn't evil enough to lock a woman up in a room and keep her from her family for years, let alone medicate her with...whatever she was being given."
Arm says nothing, and Tankhun understands. No answer Arm can give will be a good one. If he defends Pa, it undermines everything horrible he did, and how many lives were ruined or ended because of him. If he sides with Uncle Gun and Vegas, then it would ignore the fact that several of his coworkers died by their hands.
But there is no denying Pa is the one who set it in motion, regardless of what happened to any of them. He and Kinn were just expected to fight for their lives until Pa thought it was appropriate to make himself known, and they just went along with it because that was all they knew.
And when he thinks about it that way, he supposes Vegas was in a similar situation and trying to meet his own father’s horrible expectations, that he was groomed by him, just like Pa tried his best to groom his own sons, albeit in a different way.
Just like he might have been groomed by Douglas like Kinn was.
Just like Vegas may have been threatened or hurt by Douglas like he and Kim were.
“Ugh, I'm mad at you!” Tankhun says, jumping to his feet to glare down at Arm, “I don't want to talk to you for the entire night!”
Arm’s entire face drops, “Khun-”
“The entire night! You can sleep on the couch!” Tankhun reiterates, then storms off to his room and slams the door behind him. He shuts his eyes and tries to stick to his resolve. How dare Arm make him overthink their strained family ties? He is supposed to be on his side! Also, it makes no sense for Arm to encourage him to reach out, even if Vegas had been hurt. Vegas hurt and killed several of their guards. They may not have been guards Arm was close with, but they were allies and their lives meant something.
Even though Pa clearly felt differently, since he triggered the whole attack purposely.
Arm is so annoying! If he weren’t so smart, compassionate, gorgeous, and incredible, Tankhun would be DONE.
Although, Tankhun supposes he has made mistakes of his own in the past. Arm has just taken them in stride, or sometimes worked with him on the occasions Tankhun expressed he would like to change the way he reacts to certain triggers.
But that doesn't make him less annoying! Arm is supposed to be aligned with HIM, with Pol coming in second because Arm loves Pol as a brother and Tankhun loves Pol too.
Just like they love Pete. And Pete is with Vegas, which makes that relationship strained because their relationship with Vegas is strained. And now, Pete and Vegas have a baby, and Pete hasn't said a word. That's probably because a baby binds him and Vegas together forever, and that means Pete will never leave Vegas.
Especially if Vegas actually treats him well and truly makes Pete happy.
Ew!
“What are you still doing on the couch?” Tankhun asks sullenly as soon as he opens the door again.
Arm meets his eyes and lets out a sigh, “I did pace for a little while and hover my fist over the door. But I wanted to give you space if you needed it.”
“No,” Tankhun says, lightly stomping his foot, “I want you in here.”
“Ah,” Arm says, standing up, “I must have misunderstood.”
Tankhun nods once in agreement, then leads Arm to his bed so they can both sit down.
Their bed. Arm stays here more than enough for this to be their bed.
“I can understand your concerning willingness to make up with Vegas,” Tankhun says, “You just found out one of your best friends is raising a baby with him. Of course you would like to extend an olive branch. Of course you would like to hang out with Pete in person a lot more. I get it, because…because I want those things too. It's just hard.”
“I know.”
“And…” Tankhun continues, swallowing the sudden lump in his throat, “The thought of getting Vegas’s confirmation that Douglas hurt him upsets me. I used to babysit him when he was younger. I used to adore him, and I know there is no point in denying that. So if he admits Douglas hurt him too, that means I failed him as well, and I don't know if I can handle that.”
Arm puts his hand on his back and rubs it, “Would you be able to handle never getting a confirmation, always wondering, and just continuing to have weekly FaceTime chats with Pete? Or is that preferred over finding out what Vegas went through and possibly...mending things? I don't know if that's possible, but it might be a step in the right direction if the issue is thought out and approached in the right way.”
Tankhun thinks on it, then breathes out, “I think it should be Kinn who reaches out. That would be the best way to go about this.”
Arm looks slightly startled by that, “But he hates Kinn the most-”
“But Kinn was also hurt by Douglas the most,” Tankhun interrupts, “And if Douglas actually managed to hurt Vegas, he may be bitter over the fact that Kim and I fought back and managed to get out of whatever Douglas planned to do to us. And if he got away from Douglas like we did, I…As much as he resents Kinn, I can't see him being happy about a fourteen year boy being sexually assaulted. I can't even see him being happy that Kinn went through something like that, because at one point, he loved Kinn.”
“...Do you think Kinn would be willing to admit that to him?” Arm asks.
“I don't know,” Tankhun groans, “Probably not. But Porsche is in contact with Pete and Vegas and visits them. Maybe he can help set up and facilitate a conversation like that. I just…Fuck, Arm! You are SO annoying!”
“You have said that before,” Arm acknowledges as Tankhun pulls out his phone. He sets up a group chat with Kinn, Porsche, and Kim before adding Chay at the last minute. Chay games with Macau and talks with him. Maybe that connection could provide a backup plan that Tankhun doesn't fully have formed in his head yet.
But regardless…
Tankhun: I need to have an important meeting with the four of you. Kim, Chay, I know you two have been working on music all day, but please take a short break. I hope we can come to a decision about this and move forward with my plan within the next couple of days.
Kim: What is this about?
Porsche: It sounds serious. There are no emojis.
Tankhun: 🎾🐁🌬️🎫📟🖨️🩻
Kim: You never even use any of those.
Tankhun: That's because I need to have a serious conversation with all of you. Come here. Now. Kinn, you too.
Kinn: Is everything okay?
Chay: What do you want to talk about?
Tankhun takes a moment, then types one word.
Tankhun: Vegas.
Tankhun: 🎰
