frothing at the mouth actually. still can’t believe she said eve can go back to a “normal” life now where, iirc, she can get married again, live a domestic life. because the obsession with villanelle was just a phase. now she can go back to normal. like do you get it. do you get the biphobic allegory??? and then killing the lesbian the second she became actually happy?? in such a brutal way??? then saying the lesbian’s bisexual partner can finally move on and be normal. okay.
#saying aaagghh morals!!!!!!! villanelle is evil!!!! she can’t have a happy ending!!! eve just wants it to be all over!!!#how on earth did you become a showrunner without understanding what the show was about.#killing eve spoilers#killing eve season 4#the way it was just a shit ending too. a tragic ending would’ve been fine if it had been written well?????? but it wasn’t. it was shit

Started Killing Eve last Monday, finished it at 3:00am last night, devastated. changed forever. will never be the same.
#that might have been the best piece of media I’ve ever seen#utterly consumed my life and obliterated me it was phenomenal#I’d watch 100 more hours of them#finale spoiler*** they deserved so much more time together#they got half an episode to be happy after four seasons of build up you’re joking#and now Eve is so lost#V became her whole life#she destroyed everything else in her life and has no one else to turn to#and they killed all the members of the 12 (minus Carolyn who V should have killed when she had the chance w how she backstabbed her)#so the mission that comsumed her life is over#and the love of her life is gone#what gets me the most is that she didn’t even get to hold her#Eve kept reaching for V in the water and she couldn’t even touch her or hold her for closure#she just had to watch her fall#and either drown herself trying to grab V or choose life and resurface#it was so devastating#they literally got 30 seconds to be happy#killing Eve#killing eve season 4#killing Eve finale

What do you think of Killing Eve S4's ending? When I first watched it I think I was just extremely caught up in the moment (and less online, perhaps) so I didn't really explore fan theories on the internet, but I rewatched the whole show and am reading a lot of theories now. It seems like a lot of people believe Villanelle is still alive and that her death was faked, but there are also people who've gone with the ending we saw on screen, so now I am very curious to know what other people think.

Shit like Killing Eve is genuinely why like 70% of my current watch list is modern Star Trek & low-key Paramount+ remakes/reboots. Because THEY don’t
PUNISH ME.
The MOST PAIN I’VE FELT from a modern Trek show is a tie b/w MICHAEL & SPOCK’S GOODBYE, which was BEAUTIFUL and NOBODY DIED; ICHEB’S DEATH, which was VERY SAD but THOUGHTFUL and FORMATIVE FOR SEVEN, who I LOVE; and HEMMER’S DEATH, which was TRAGIC, but HEY, at least HE’S been BACK.
And CALL iCarly JUVENILE IF YOU WANT TO, but Freddie & Carly are HEALTHY & TOGETHER, Carly’s BFSS (Best Friend Since Sam) is a black, bi/pan icon, and at least HARPER is ALIVE, OKAY?
Like. Do I WISH I could enjoy shows like Killing Eve—with MASTERFUL ACTORS like Sandra & Jodie & Fiona giving it their all, plus some writers & directors who DO GET IT? OFC. Would I trade all but the last 30 seconds of the finale for almost anything? NO.
But is it WORTH IT?
IDFK AT THE END OF THE DAY 🫠

I’m listening to the Codename Villanelle audiobook. I…am so disappointed. Good on the show runners, writers, and cast for elevating something underwhelming into peak brain rot fuel. I appreciate the show so much more now. What a cursed reality. The desired ending in meh book format. The undesired ending in quality screen format.

Why I think that killing off Adam was the biggest mistake Viv could make
TW: ranting and spoilers
This entire blog is just gonna be me going on a rant about my opinion on why I think Adam shouldn't of been killed off and why he shouldn't be killed off so early and shit , not only did I not see it as unnecessary for the plot, but there's so much Vivienne could of done for his character other than just throwing the whole character away in just one season , I'll be listing things for what they could of done for Adam's character
1. Plotholes
I'm just gonna say it right here and right now, Adam was killed off waaay too early and not only would we be left with many many plot holes like, where is both of his sons (Caine and Abel), the potential they could of used for his character, and ect.
2. Character potential
^^this fucking scene^^ , because the thought of when Adam first pulling up and being like "Hello, Adam here!!" Is just so fucking funny to me (just less plagiarized, and more unique)
and maybe his arrival leads to his words "Hell is forever" ,his own song gets used against him sense not only did he have the audacity to go to the hotel to get back into heaven but he has said it himself, how redemption isn't possible
But references aside ,Adam can have some potential for his character, like maybe he not only comes to the hotel not only for the intention of going back to Heaven because he hates being down in hell but also for the intention of plotting some revenge for what the hotel residents all did to him
,but the longer he stays there the less and less he tries to plot his revenge , the more and more he realized how flawed heaven and heaven's people are most of the time, and ect.
And ect. and he's so indenial of it at first and doesn't want to believe it but no matter how much he tries there's no denying it , deep down he knows it's true but he doesn't want to believe it
3. Character potential (again)
Like maybe Adam has become fallen in the first place because not only did him sinning in Heaven eventually catch up to him, but maybe also because after finding out the exterminations were unnecessary after Sir Pentious entered the heavens gates, it was finally time for Adam to take his fall
They can also actually start touching on Adam's trauma and how it affects him, his trauma being : being forced into a relationship the moment he was created (Lilith and Eve) , having to be the father and/or decendant of all of the human race , having been kicked out of the garden after Lucifer has second handedly invented evil into the world , and said evil causing his son to kill his other son(which is his and God's fault also)
Like maybe sense Vivziepop is putting a slight different spin to things to Hazbin hotel, she doesn't really having to follow the entire list (sense it's her show) , she can still do something with some of it and still find a way to bring it up and with that it could be the reason behind how he behaves , his personality as a whole, and why he wears that narcissistic mask (while it doesn't necessarily excuse his actions)
4. Character design
If Adam was to somehow end up coming back as a fallen angel, as a sinner. Viv can find a way to go crazy with his fallen design, like any other cartoonist in this world, I know that those cartoonist has seen fanart and fan creations of their shows, movies, and characters
I've seen my fair share of seeing really really good fallen designs for Adam and I'm fucking here for it , they're all so good
,it just needs to happen
5. Character development & redemption arc
Like mentioned in Character potential 2 , Adam can have some potential for his character, like maybe he not only comes to the hotel not only for the intention of going back to Heaven because he hates being down in hell but also for the intention of plotting some revenge for what the hotel residents all did to him
but the longer he stays there the less and less he tries to plot his revenge , the more and more he realized how flawed heaven and heaven's people are most of the time, and ect.
And ect. and he's so indenial of it at first and doesn't want to believe it but no matter how much he tries there's no denying it , deep down he knows it's true but he doesn't want to believe it . Like maybe Adam just still acts the same but without him realizing it or acknowledging it he's just becoming a better person and maybe even comedically he just thinks that the misfits gave him a disease /illness when that's not the case
Maybe in the next seasons he could even become a better father to his sons, Caine and Abel but similar to Lucifer, let them do their own thing sense those two are basically adults now and hey, Adam could be more like a cool dad
I feel like Adam has more cool dad energy
6. The relationships he'll end up making
Just imagine the relationships Adam slowly but gradually builds during his redemption arc, like maybe him and Charlie ending having like an fun uncle and niece kind of relationship or something, maybe slowly but gradually he becomes like another friend of Angel Dust's, and ect.
As he processes through his redemption arc he can end up making friends and building relationships down in hell , possibly in the near future Charlie, Vaggie, Angeldust, Alastor, Cherri bomb, Husk, Nifty, Razzle, and Lucifer doesn't fight against him but with him if another threat were to come
7. There could be another antagonists that's worse or maybe even a bigger threat than Adam
Maybe another antagonists could be made that's more of a mystery and even a bigger threat than Adam , that's just like Adam (or not) but amp up the bad traits he has, maybe this time Adam could be the one helping the others fight and rebel against this guy in his own way
8. Another musical number
Another musical number with them singing badly about heaven in song in the near future but this time with Charlie ,Vaggie, Angeldust, Alastor, Cherri bomb, Husk, Nifty, Razzle, Lucifer, and most of all Adam but the reprise has a metal spin to it and this time Adam joins in and does it with his guitar
9. Another reason she shouldn't of killed off Adam is because she'd be killing off fat /plus size representation
Another reason I feel like Viv shouldn't of killed off Adam is because she'd be killing of fat character representation and I wouldn't want a chubby character like Adam to be killed off
,of course we have Mimzy now but she doesn't count sense she's just one character and only just one character and as much as I love Mimzy I feel like the show needs more than just one or two fat characters
And for the people that think "He isn't chubby" , try again and look at him again , how he sits , lays down (like how he was laying after her got shanked in his arm by Charlie), and ect.
10. I just want some vulnerable moments with Adam
Whether that be Adam bawling his eyes out, having a panic attack, having a mental/emotional breakdown, or ect. I just want to see a vulnerable side of Adam, Adam angst if you will
Okay I'm done ranting, bye <3 <3
#hazbin hotel fandom#hazbin hotel#I'm basically just gonna be ranting about Adam this entire time so buckle up youll#hazbin hotel adam#adam hazbin hotel#ted talks#hazbin hotel analysis#hazbin hotel rant#vivziepop#vivienne medrano#If i don't get this than so help me I'm writing this shit as a fanfiction#professional yapper#yapping#just yappin#through all of this he'll still be in character but not in a way where he's not getting a redemption arc

Mordred do you have any anime or manga recommendations you havent talked about recently?
I feel like there's a lot of anime I never talk about for one reason or another, like RN I'm writing up a whole thing about maidime (maid anime) for my anime blog and if I ever get it done then yay but it's dragging lmao
But yeah, I really liked the adaptation of Children of the Whales, the world building is insane and the animation was so spectacular for a TV anime. Really stands apart from most shows.
I really like the show Erased. Time travel and time loops aren't that uncommon but still I felt that Erased found a really neat way to tackle the topic of it. It's a real fucked up story so trigger warnings for child murder and serial killer shit, but for real spectacular show. Basically there's a serial killer and dude goes back in time to be his kid self and uses his adult knowledge to try and stop the killer.
I mention this show plenty I think but I always need to sing it's praises, Humanity Has Declined is probably in my top 15 TV shows. It's such a fun, bright take on a post apocalypse and it's so funny. If you take anything away from this post, watch this show. Whenever I try to compare it to anything, the only thing I can think of is Adventure Time, it's a bright whimsical comical telling of happenings after an apocalypse. Though plot wise it's nothing like AT so, maybe the comparison isn't the best. But essentially the protagonist is a UN representative to go between the remaining humans and the newly evolved fairies. The arcs are in reverse chronological order and its lovely tbh lol.
Time of Eve is one of the first shows I really hooked into. It got rereleased as a movie, so whatever version you find is right. But it's about a world where there's robot house keepers and shit and one day the protag follows his robot to a coffee shop where robots meet and have the ability to be free. It's very nice and I should rewatch it I haven't seen it in a long ass time.
To get that yuri rep in there, if you've never watched Maria-sama ga Miteru (Maria Watches Over Us) you gotta drop your toes in. It's four seasons but you'll know if it's for you or not right away. A girl attends an all girls Catholic school and gets caught up in the student council and the personalities in it. Imo this is the premier Class S yuri and I love this series so much.
I could go on and on honestly.
As for manga, I'd say my manga opinions are very known cuz I post all sorts of screencaps and shit as I read, but considering most of that was on my old blog.
Read Liberta. Just do it. Vampire lesbian escapism fantasy. It's awesome.
The Summer Hikaru Died is a gay horror. Basically a dude's best friend goes missing and then suddenly turns back up months later. But the dude knows it's not his friend because he saw his friend's dead body in the forest. That's not a spoiler, that's like 4 pages in. It's phenomenal.
I think I see people try to disparage it these days, but Future Diary was a really good read. Dude ends up in a weird game where his cell phone tells the future and he has to kill other people who have prophetic phones (and vice versa) so they may become a new god. But on top of this one of the players is a yandere girl obsessed with being with him. The anime adaptation is good too just be ready for them to show. Too much. Watch the TV show version and not the Blu-rays, they uncensored stuff in the Blu-ray and it's such a weird decision when you see it.
Goodbye Eri and Look Back are both one shots by the Chainsaw Man author. Both deal with losing someone dear to you at a young age and both handle it in completely different ways. Both are fantastic though.
I could go on and on and on

5 Characters who should get an Invincible Special Episode
Invincible Season 2 has just wrapped up, and while some fans are a little disappointed with its ending, overall the general consensus has been positive. From excellent music, to phenomenal voice work and animation, along with X-Men '97 its been a great time to be a superhero fan AND an animation fan.
This season also brought in a handful of new characters, as well brought some fan favorites to the forefront, including Allen the Alien, Rex Splode and Immortal.
I think I speak for everyone when I say I love being in this universe, and would love to see more. And while I know Season 3 will be here sooner than Season 2 was, I've been thinking about all those incredible characters and the Atom Eve Special.
It went a long way in showing how good the animation got, expanding on Atom Eve, and evening building up threats like The Lizard League.
I think theres alot of potential in expanding some of these characters, seeing their origins and helping build up their character development.
So I'm going to go through some, along with ideas as to how the episodes can play out. Spoiler Warning for Invincible Season 1 & 2 and mild spoilers from the comics.
5. Bulletproof
Starting off with one of the newest members of the Guardians of the Globe, Zandale Randolph AKA Bulletproof is definitely a character you forgot was in this season.
While he is known for a few big things in the future, he didn't really get to do much this season. He wasn't very useful in the sequid invasion, didn't really help in any major fights, nor do we know anything about him. So why him?
His history in the comics is rather tragic, and I think is something we are going to explore. His twin brother, a mad genius, attempts experimenting on Zandale in order to give himself superpowers. Instead it gives Zandale superpowers, and kills his brother.
Due to this, and unable to tell his parents, he pretends to be both brothers to preserve his brothers legacy.
That tragedy is alot, and could make for an amazing episode, with his brother being the villain and explain why he is so guarded.
Plus, I love Jay Pharoah. More Jay Pharoah please.
4. Dupli-Kate
We got some hints at Dupli-Kates origin in her eulogy from Immortal. Her powers come from a curse upon her family, that led to both her and her brother gaining the ability to multiply.
What you don't know is they started off as a brother sister team before going their separate ways.
We actually see Kate's brother Multi-Paul in the cell when the Maulers escape again. Seeing a young version of Multi-Paul before their inevitable confrontation in a later season could give us more stakes.
Yes, this is another sibling rivalry just like Bulletproof, but this could start way more fun than Bulletproofs.
And two multipliers who are children fighting it out in a dramatic finish? Also good television.
3. Monster Girl
Talk about a tragedy.
Monster Girl's curse was given to her after falling in love with a man whose grandmother disapproved of her. That grandmother was a witch, who turned her into an ogre with extraordinary power.
We don't get much else from her origin, which could give us some wiggle room.
This could start as a love story turned horror story, unable to get out of her monster form, feeling trapped in her own body. We can have the witch be an Agatha Harkness type, and a physical threat in the episode too.
Once she is defeated, Amanda is able to turn back and be with the man she loves, until she realizes months later, that she is getting younger, and he breaks her heart.
The beats are all there, and I'd love to see a magic based episode in the Invincible Universe mixed in with some Hulk style action. Plus, building up Amanda will be important as she is vital in the comics.
2. Thaedus The Great Betrayer
You didn't think I was only picking Guardians did you?
Thaedus' episode could be by far the most interesting, showing us Viltrum from a first hand perspective, before he betrayed and before he formed the Coalition.
I don't want to get too heavy into spoilers, but he causes a brutal blow on the Viltrum Empire I'd love to see first hand. We can keep Peter Cullen, or get a younger voice actor, but either way, seeing a younger Viltrum Empire would be very intriguing and a bloodbath.
1. Rex Splode
Despite being one of the most annoying characters in Season 1, Rex is by far the standout of Season 2 in my eyes.
Another origin that was slightly teased, I can imagine Rex's episode can be his sad origin, meeting Atom Eve in act 2, and taking out his oppressors by the end in a good old fashioned team up.
This could be a direct sequel to the Atom Eve Special, giving us more Eve, and help us understand their relationship even better. Plus Rex being blind sided with a girl who can make anything? Sounds like a fun battle to me.
Thank you so much for reading! Please consider following, and check out my socials and other sites here! And let me know: Who do you want to see get an Invincible Special Origin Episode?

OK SPOILERS FOR YOU SEASON 4 PART 2 (Also TW/ mentions of suicide attempts)
The fact that every single scene from episode 8 onwards with fake rhys and Joe out of context seems like them being murder husbands>>>> (like literally when Fake Rhys pleads for Joe to not jump, to see himself the way he sees him, that he loves him...).
I mean overall the entirety of episode 10 utterly destroyed me but that bridge scene would have felt a bit more cathartic if that was the actual season finale (like maybe it's just me, but Joe has always felt like a character whose only possible route is death...or maybe I'm still salty over Killing Eve's finale dunno)
But then again, with the actual ending of the show, I'm actually curious as to what will happen to Joe going forward ngl

I haven't watched Killing Eve for a while but was thinking about rewatching it again, and I've only watched s4 once, so it was on my mind and I started thinking about it.
!!Spoilers!!
I think one reason why it flopped and was so widely disliked was because of the way The Twelve was handled. I thought the reveal and backstory was anticlimactic, boring and didn't seem to have much thought put into it. The whole thing felt really unnatural to me, they didn't link Villanelle's past murders into the organisation and its purpose much, which would have been so cool and smart.
To me, it was kind of just 'what if they were a secret cabal of socialists who tried to control the world' which is lazy and boring and I thought it would have been more unique. Definitely would have appreciated a more in-depth exploration into the Cold War but I doubt that would have been good for the show because it's a bit of a niche thing and I'm a history buff, so always want history in TV shows I watch.
I haven't thought much about what I would have done, but I might come back to this post after rewatching it. Also, maybe my brain has just been overly harsh or something, I haven't watched it since it came out, sorry.

Little rage update to this because I found one of the articles again:
Imagine being so out of touch with your own production, you think Villanelle is happiest when murdering people.
As if she didn’t give a WHOLE MONOLOGUE about how she used to kill in a desperate attempt to find any sensation at all. As if she didn’t come out of that darkness through finally processing some of her trauma & building this relationship with Eve during S1-3.
As if that whole S3 finale never happened: The conversation with Carolyn, begging her to see value in anything besides her ability to kill, and despair when Carolyn refuses. The cracks in her voice while they dance as it finally hits her, all the people she’s killed, and she doesn’t want to kill anymore, but she steels herself & puts on one last show to kill the woman who’s after Eve bc she finally trusts Eve enough to start to be vulnerable & let her in & trust that she’ll still be there & not find her monstrous or disgusting when she gets back; the grimace as she leans into Eve on the bridge, letting her go bc it’s the selfless-love thing to do.
Villanelle didn’t send Eve up to distract the partiers because she’s happiest when killing people. (She wanted to be a goddamn interior decorator 😭 I’m begging y’all to LISTENNN.) That hasn’t been the case since season ONE, and that wasn’t even the FULL STORY back THEN. She sent her up there because she has processed her shit & she knows how horrible and irreversible it is to kill somebody. But she knew the Twelve had to die—for Eve’s sanity, Villanelle’s freedom & for them to have any chance at a free life together. So she saved Eve from that burden. Let her feel like she helped by dancing it out at a wedding, shining her light. Steeled herself, just like in S3, and got the job done.
Bc did y’all see her relief when she got back to Eve on the bridge? When it was over? The troubled expression as she watched Eve walk into the wedding? How the only time she smiled was when she came out of the kitchen to listen to Eve give her officiant speech about their relationship, and then she disappeared again—just grimacing during the killing (which was a 1 vs 12 fight without Eve btw, so ofc she couldn’t be clean about it)? Did you see the desperately sad way she kissed Eve at the bottom of the stairs before she sent her off, knowing what she was about to have to put herself through and wanting to soak in that goodness, to remind herself she’s loved somewhere before she went in and did that? How her whole body shakes after the last killing & she only smiles again once the weapon drops from her hand—as she realizes that might be the last time she ever has to do this?
Eve and Villanelle went in opposite, parallel directions over the course of the show, crashing into/embracing each other to finally find that balance and understanding. And hilariously (in the context of Neal’s comments), that journey means if anything, EVE is the one who “enjoys killing” at this point 😂 NOT Villanelle.
I literally don’t understand how any reasonable person even could come to the conclusions Laura Neal did in good faith, much less the goddamn show-runner. But then, she didn’t do it in good faith, did she. She sent the mentally ill queer woman on a quest to purify herself of sin through JESUS for 80% of a season & then SHOT her & threw her in the THAMES, the site of Eve’s acceptance in S3, so that Eve, as the formerly “straight” woman who was in love with her, could have the “relief” of getting her “NORMAL LIFE” back—
I’M—
How long am I gonna be explaining to people, I wonder:
Villanelle is a compelling and relatable character—and so similar to Catra—& her relationship with Eve heart wrenching to watch because she turned herself into a weapon at a young age so no one could hurt her anymore? (And Catra and Villanelle are both power bottoms, and no, that’s not a joke—it’s character info.)
It’s why her backstory episode with her mom in S3, and the final shot of her crying on the train, are so perfect, for all people’s complaints about S3. And then she grew and changed. And Eve came back. And she let someone hurt her. She let someone in.
Because no, most people don’t have mental health scarring to the degree that Villanelle has. (A lot of that—the spy stuff, the Twelve—can be read as a way to personify a general sense of governmental repression anyway.) But there’s something very real about being a soft-hearted person who forced yourself to become a survivor, scrapping from day to day to find any reason to live, and then finally finding someone who understands you and doesn’t want to hurt you.
And for Eve, it was compelling because she was closeted. All the trappings of her old life—from Nico and their flat full of chickens, to her desk job—were symbolic of repressive, misogynistic, comp-het culture as a whole. Villanelle represented burning all of it down: rebellion, anarchy, honesty, freedom.
And it is absolute crap—not to mention WILDLY homophobic—that it would be anything RESEMBLING a “relief” for her to lose that freedom; to say her queerness and desire for more were a phase, and she’d be happier going back into repression.
It’s crap. And it’s one of the many reasons I have to be a writer.
#at least Jodie and Sandra knew wtf was going on 💀#so so normal about them#PS this is not even getting into that when she was killing a lot of ppl. the few times her targets weren’t ppl the 12 assigned her.#she specifically sought out ppl who had wronged or abused women.#she got set free for 5 mins and became Batman 😂#and ppl are still trying to make her evil. clownery at its finest if u ask me#killing eve#rants#writer rants#writer life#villaneve#villanelle#eve polastri#villanelle x eve#eve x villanelle#lgbtqia#wlw#homophobia#killing eve spoilers#killing eve season 4#killing eve season 3#spoilers#laura neal#jodie comer#sandra oh

Totally late to the party, but...
BLUE SUIT CONFIRMED LET'S GO
AH-BUP-BUP! There are spoilers for the comic down here! Turn back now if you don't want that, please!
Spoilers in
3
2
1
I cannot wait to see Thragg this season! My followers know I've been dying to get just a glimpse of the lil fucked up creature man!
And I just know the Conquest fight is gonna go crazy. This season is gonna go so hard.
They're also definitely gonna have Mark and Eve get together (seeing how the comic paired them immediately, they can't drag it out that long). I'm actually really excited to see where they're taking this arc, especially after Amber's plot.
I'm still expecting that this season is gonna end on a cliffhanger for the Invincible War though. Don't think they'll cover it at all since it's a bit of a ways away but with how they set up the evil Marks and everything I totally bet they're gonna end it on a cliffhanger. The real question is if season 4's gonna pick up with that or wait a bit to really let it wallow before the punch.
WAIT HOLD UP I'M LEAVING THE ABOVE PARAGRAPH IN BUT I JUST NOTICED. That shadow doesn't match Mark's pose, but based on the hair and general structure, it does seem to belong to a Mark just off screen. Are we gonna get the Invincible War this season?! Everybody, hold Rex close before he's snatched away. (I mean there's other options it also could be but I like jumping to the extremes so :P)
Anyways when Rex dies, I'm totally posting a screenshot of that and a screenshot of Gambit's death together because I love suffering (my brother inspired the idea by saying "they killed Gambit twice" lol).
#amazon invincible#invincible show#invincible series#invincible season 3#invincible#mark grayson#invincible spoilers#i guess? if you dont want any spoilers than yeah i guess this counts. new suit i think falls under that category

I saw you tagged killing eve in the 'worst series finale' poll - how *does* it end? I watched the first two seasons and then lost interest. (also I hope you're having a good day!)
first of all thank you i am and i hope you are too!!
but alright here we go ⚠️⚠️ MAJOR SPOILER WARNING MAJOR SPOILER WARNING ⚠️⚠️ for anyone who does want to watch for themselves bc tbh the first few seasons are excellent but i honestly don't know if i can recommend them anymore in good faith after knowing where it all ends up
so okay. you know how the whole crux of the show is this intense psychosexual relationship between eve and villanelle. and how there's an obvious romantic tension between them. well from what i remember (cause it's been a while) they started actually working together in season 3, but then because they realized they make each other worse they had this whole dramatic moment where they walked away from each other on a bridge and weren't supposed to look back but of course they both did turn around at the last second and then the season ends.
flash forward to season 4 and you can tell time has passed and they aren't working together and it's implied there was some big falling out and we have no idea what it is. eve is just annoyed and done with villanelle and villanelle is like trying to prove she's not a bad person and goes to church and stuff and actually that plot was extremely hilarious and she imagined up a drag jesus version of herself for advice and they were acting like exes and it was playing into the whole comedic surrealism aspect of the show really well. but after the first few episodes it just kinda fell apart like i just remember feeling lost all season and not understanding where we were going and this is definitely due to the changing showrunners (they should have just kept pwb for the whole thing!!!!) but they kept adding new characters out of nowhere, some of which were really well done but then we were following plots that were thrown in randomly and it was just a bit of a mess.
but eventually by the LITERAL SERIES FINALE eve and villanelle have both given in to the fact that they enjoy being in each other's company as the worst versions of themselves (which is honestly such a fun direction to go that i really enjoyed especially for a sapphic pairing). and after they've been apart for a vast majority of the season finally they have this good banter going and it's all domestic and then there's a scene where they're walking down an empty road together and this romantic music comes in. and they finally literally actually have The Moment. like they had kissed before in the previous season but not in an explicitly romantic way, they were physically fighting each other on a public bus and eve kissed villanelle to throw her off before headbutting her (SO GRIDDLEHARK OF THEM THAT SCENE IS ACTUALLY SO GOOD) anyways. villanelle kisses eve on the cheek and then eve stares at her and grabs her and they make out for a solid FORTY-FIVE SECONDS. it was so intense and they're kissing as they're stumbling down the road and they run back to the camper van they were travelling in and it's for sure implied that they have sex in there. so everyone was like oh my fucking god they actually did it. like this is where the show was always going, it's a whole I Can Make You Worse thing where both people were like "fuck it i'll be worse then" and gave in to the tension that had been building for years not just within the plot but FOR VIEWERS SINCE 2018.
so i don't exactly remember what happens next but the whole season they've been trying to kill The Twelve which was the assassin group in charge of villanelle, and we find out carolyn was a founding member actually, and i will be honest that plot was always confusing to me but iirc she wasn't with them anymore. so eve and villanelle infiltrate this wedding party boat that's a cover for a meeting of The Twelve (this is like the last 10 minutes of the show now) and they kiss again and there's a scene where it's like they're indirectly talking to each other through the wedding speech that eve somehow ends up giving and that's so romantic too and then villanelle slinks off, finds the meeting, and murders everyone. so yay the protagonists are together finally and villanelle killed her abusers and they are finally in happy gay love. then out of fucking nowhere as they're standing outside on the boat villanelle starts to get shot at. (this is literally the last five minutes of the entire show now) and she falls into the river or maybe jumps in to get away i don't remember and she's still getting shot and eve is swimming to try to catch her. and it's all this dramatic slow-mo beautifully shot stuff that's like horrible in context cause the blood is blooming in the water and eve can't reach villanelle and they do a whole creation of adam hand reach before villanelle slips into the depths.
so literally eve had just thrown away any chance at a normal life to embrace the side of her that loves violence and loves villanelle so they could spend the rest of their life together and that was such a slay. and then she loses villanelle which like, if they wanted a tragic ending it would have been kinder to kill them both, it's so much fucking worse to leave eve spending the rest of her life mourning the one person who understood her and let her give in to her carnal desires. and it is directly after letting the two queer characters finally achieve happiness that one of them is killed off which is the DEFINITION of the bury your gays/dead lesbian syndrome tropes, there have been literal academic papers written on how the phenomenon is like a punishment for queer joy etc etc. this shit has been in the discourse for decades and they fell dead center into the trope which is just so disappointing because at the start ke was such a unique story and one of the first mainstream shows that embraced morally gray queer characters in a way that wasn't homophobic.
oh! and guess who shot villanelle? carolyn!!!! and it was still NEVER CLEAR WHY! she worked for MI6 now so it being in revenge of The Twelve didn't really add up, some people thought she wanted to kill villanelle as like a prize for MI6, it was kind of implied that konstantin told her in this note he spent his last breaths writing (yeah he also died which was the saddest tbh) that villanelle had killed carolyn's son kenny (this was a major plot point of season 3 and carolyn was trying to get revenge, he fell off a building under mysterious circumstances) but that made no sense because it was implied to be konstantin since he was on the roof with kenny and also villanelle was literally in fucking spain or something the episode when it happened.
like i get it. this is a tragic show. people die every episode. but from a writing standpoint it makes absolutely zero fucking sense to kill off one of the two main characters of your show, in the last five minutes of the show, after finally cashing in on your flagship queer romance between them, and leaving the motivation for killing her completely ambiguous.
anyways i'm so sorry that ended up this long jesus christ but tldr: killing eve ends in the worst bury your gays i have ever seen after a season that didn't even have good plot or pacing
#i. really did not think i was going to write an essay here but apparently a year later i still have lingering feelings over this lol#thank you so much for the ask though i love a chance to rant and this was so fun haha#killing eve spoilers#killing eve#ke#ke spoilers#not tlt#ask#OH AND I DON'T THINK WE EVER FOUND OUT EXACTLY WHAT HAPPENED WITH THEM BETWEEN THE SEASONS EITHER?? maybe i just forgot though

You know, as much as I would love to talk more about ineffable husband/wives/partner/idiots or aziraphale and Crowley. I do want to talk about something that involves God for once. (While stilllll giving me an excuse to talk more about Aziraphale and Crowley 🤭🤭) so spoiler warning ahead:
So, we know God. she’s kinda the focal point of the story, the footprint that everyone goes back to if you will even though we don’t really see what they look like. Sure you can say Metatron is the voice for God as stated in episode 4, season 1 “Saturday Morning Funtime”. So him plus the archangel in a sense speak for God and do whatever bidding she gives them without question, well exactly for Aziraphale and a Crowley; and everyone is quite ready to just shun them just for not complying with the norm. well I saw a post where it said that God isn’t cruel or unjust but rather put all including her most trusted archangels on a test. So I want to add on to their post as I do agree with their statement; it is evident all the way back in episode 1 where she described the whole baby swapping in the metaphor of cards; so I feel the statement is not far off. What I want to add on is, “what if, God intended Aziraphale and Crowley to be nonconformist the true champions that can truly save the world and are soulmates.”
Now, I’ve made a hefty post about Aziraphale as how he’s an outsider to his own side despite his effort is masking his true identity and beliefs. Though I didn’t touch on Crowley, so let’s change that: Crowley was a follower before he became his own leader. What do I mean? Well when we see Season 2, Episode 1, we are confirmed that Aziraphale and Crowley did met way before the Garden of Eden; and one of the first thing we do see if just how joyous Crowley is at his work with the stars. He’s cutely proud of his work that is until Aziraphale breaks the news to him and you see his walks breaking, he is absolutely devastated that his work is basically for nothing and while Aziraphale try to cheer him up, you can also tell this was the start of Crowley’s conscience that would lead to him falling. Now granted, we don’t exactly know why he fell, we going for implications which would most likely be him asking question. And one thing I did mention when talking about Aziraphale is that Heaven think any question regarding the almighty’s plan is treasonous, making you in their word a “traitor”. But what we can get from the implication of the fall is that if it wasn’t for Aziraphale, his conscience wouldn’t have even invented which is a parallel with the garden of eden as Crowley was the reason for Aziraphale’s conscience to be formed as when we get to after that he lied about the sword. I do think this can’t be coincidental, seem like it was dated all along me thinks 🤔
Now, I bring this up, because since we talking about the almighty themself, it could possible be that she wanted this to happen. I mean, if we look at all from season 1 as a whole; we see that all the angels and demons are quiet literally ready to destroy what they created. Eagerly reading to draw their swords or magic to fight; which is really bizarre how after all those years they’re blasé about the apocalypse. Now I’m sure everyone know the ending that the world got saved and they got punished for it; but not by God or even Satan. They’re punished by people of their own side. Which got me analyzing this show for the billion time: don’t you think that God would’ve punish them themself if she was truly serious about this plan to end the world? Or really, since the angels will do it no question asked wouldn’t she have made the ineffable husband/wives/spouse/partner/morons duo more compliant rather than having consciences? Now granted, it can very well be that she did authorize the punishment, I really won’t be surprised as this is the same heaven that gamble Job’s kids just to see if he still righteous. However, my point still stands, if they really wanted to kill earth or even her own creation she could’ve but she didn’t, she wanted this outcome to happen, she wanted to see how this will play out, this is her playing cards and seeing what strategy they’ll use and she got her answer.
Which let me mention when Aziraphale lied really quickly before I get to Job; now, Aziraphale’s lies is an equivalent of glass, you can see right through that he was lying to God and she most likely knows it too. Now I’m not going to say they would’ve smite Aziraphale for it no, that would’ve been over the top, but I felt she couldn’t scolded him like any archangels would’ve but she just did this:
Now, one thing about the almighty is that, they’re all knowing. So her just accepting that; is a bit fishy innit of itself. Especially when it come to a flaming sword at that, which is her taking an interest in Aziraphale’s story, as He’s the only who isn’t rigid or compliant no matter how much he tried to hide it. It only the archangels and Metatron who are judging and ridiculing him for it. Hell Metatron calls Muriel Dim, (which me and Metatron are gonna fight, no one called them dim, they’re angelic), the angels/Metatron are using their status and the fact they work closely with God to “regulate” the things. But the one thing that if you will, raise my eyebrows is that; we never hear what the Almighty have to say about this, even within her narration in season one, not once she would say anything regarding with Aziraphale and/or Crowley’s decision with apocalypse. This is all in a sense her writing their story and see whatever material Azirphale, Crowley and all her angels can handle; just so happen the way Crowley and Aziraphale are handling their material is what capture God’s eye.
Now to talk about the Job episode, yes. The almighty did make a bet with Satan to see if Job is as righteous as he is, by slaughtering everything and everyone but his wife. Because I guess just giving him a task to prove it was a snooze feast. Now, we did see Crowley killing the goat; until they were just birds. Same with the fact that Crowley turn the Kid into geckos instead of killing them. Now, we did see God talk to Job about whales and ostriches (which if that isn’t every single Bible story ever, I don’t know what is) but I feel given that at the end of the story of job, we see the kids come right back again…wouldn’t you think she would’ve intervened? Considering the kids aren’t dead, even the archangels have suspicions if it wasn’t for Aziraphale lying. Not to mention that, wouldn’t she have intervened when Crowley tempted Aziraphale to eat and they talk about the sides? Oh and let me remind y’all from the post when Aziraphale had a breakdown about falling, wouldn’t she had made Aziraphale become a fallen Angel for trying to save children? But she didn’t, she didn’t make aziraphale fall, she didn’t do anything regarding with the change they both did. While sure, the Almighty does win the bet since Job’s still righteous. But she also got to see the ineffable duo developing as they got their heart to heart with each other.
Which going into season 2, we got to the aftermath of season 1, we see that they relatively left the duo “alone” (by alone I mean they straight up abandoned Aziraphale while Shax actually check in on Crowley to exchanged what going on and beelzebub asked for Crowley help when it came to Gabriel). So it kinda hard to speak as this is now just the duos story with no narration, so, I like to think that just maybe, this is God’s taking a backseat and watching the show with us. She is watching the aftermath from season 1; maybe to see how their doing perhaps? Or to see what they’ll do now as there is going to be a sequel to armageddon, which mean we might see Jesus and most likely we going to see God/Satan make their grand appearance and I can’t wait to see that, it going to be insane. But let talk about that sequel.
So I mentioned about the ineffable plan that seem to be a niche to the story, it the one thing people bring up when talking about armageddon and it’s sequel. But, what if I tell you guys that the ineffable plans wasn’t armageddon? And that, the true ineffable plan is for Aziraphale/Crowley to save Heaven, Earth, and Hell?
“But Phantom don’t be silly, how can it be if the world almost ended in season 1?” And you’re right, she did almost let the world to die but Aziraphale,Crowley and Adam stop that from happening as Adam call out his deadbeat ex-dad. But, also as I mention, don’t you think she would’ve intervene and not let their lot speak for her? She could’ve easily visited Aziraphale like she did back at the garden of Eden to tell him to stop his shit or visited Crowley to stop his shit, but again she didn’t, and as the post say the almighty want to see justice to be done, she want to see who would protect the sacred creations she work so hard for for her people. She want to see what just who would “dare” to save everything even if it mean to doubt her plan, so maybe she calls armageddon the ineffable plan to cover up what the true ineffable plan is: to save all in the name of justice. And while the archangel listen and is willing to go through the “ineffable plan”; Aziraphale and Crowley are indirectly completing the true ineffable plan, her two creation whom are the only one with conscience are doing what a true angels/hero should do: protect and defend. And they are definitely going to be rewarded and recognize for saving humanity and listening to their heart rather than complying just because “it is what it is”.
Now the soulmates part, look I know season 2 had us all in tears. Trust me. I’ve been crying since the beginning of august because of it. I’ve been reading fanfic to cope. But I’m telling you, it not a divorce, because you know what, I have a feeling the almighty ships these two morons as much as the next person. Because, she had plenty of times to smite them or if you will, punish them. She have that power to do so, she did it with Adam and Eve; she has it in them, but she didn’t. And I think, this was what is meant to be, Aziraphale was meant to meet Crowley (or whatever his angelic name was suppose to be), he was meant to meet him again in garden of Eden, he was meant to befriend Crowley, to spend six thousand years with him and fall in love with him just as it was meant for Crowley to protect, to talk to him and love him in return. While yes, they would be considered star-crossed lovers but I don’t think it doomed, she the biggest shipper since they never try stopping it, she never tried to break them apart, and above all never disapproves of them. It just that archangels/metatron are so corrupted with their self righteousness that they misconstrue anything in the name of the lord which you can say is a great way to depict toxicity with religious as we see that Aziraphale truly suffered in the hand of the side that is suppose to true all equally but excludes him for being different, so having Crowley be the only person that never judge Aziraphale but instead indulge and supports it with him mean that these two were created with the image of them fitting with each other like a puzzle pieces. She have plans for them for sure, this isn’t over for them; it might ended on a painful note as metatron got what he wanted, Aziraphale’s masking again and Crowley lost the one thing that light up the dark by the end of the tunnel. But I’m sure, she will give them an happily ever after and that there not star-crossed, they’re not doomed, they never had and never will.
I guess thank for coming to my tedtalk? Sorry for my rambling, I just realize not a lot talk about the almighty. I get why as she a footprint to the story and that the true starts are the ineffable lovers. This show have me in a choke hold, and this is just my excuse to talk about this. You are more than welcome to disagree or agree with me, all opinions are valid 💜. Hope you guys are having a fun day, and hope you’re feeling good after good omens. Because I’m still going through it lmao.
