Haven't posted the dollfam in a while!

I love how my Luna (Honeytree) and Cupid (Sunnydaze) are both tan Pukifee but Honeytree is so old and mellowed you can't tell x) or maybe that's just what tan looked like at that time?

I've ordered a reshell for Abraham, so he's being saved a spot!

The knitter returns...

So I mentioned a little earlier that I've been experimenting with knitting. It really is a nice hobby (as long as my poor hands can handle it, I guess. If I develop arthritis in the next 5 years, I'm blaming on the needles... ) I figured I'd share the latest hijinks with you. Shouting this out to the aether of Tumblr: "Folks, if you see this, lemme know how I did!"

This is Louis, my 1/6 blind box Dividing Line (FenJieXian) FuFu. Here demonstrating how you should always be well-prepared for winter (Because... Winter is coming!) I can't claim credit for the sweater here. A much more advanced friend knitted that for me. I like to think of it as encouragement.

This pair is older-sis Lora (Kids' Sky Garnet) and younger-bro Reiwa (Luts' event head on Sprouting Dragon's MSD body). Here I get to say I've pushed that ball of yarn to its maximum. Both hats and scarves came from the same ball of yarn! (Except the tassels on the scarves, that came from a different ball.)

There's a story for the characters here, I promise. It's been worked and reworked in my head while my hands are knitting. I'll get on it, promise. And I haven't forgotten about the Fox Habitat project, either. I'm just waiting for something else to come in!

This lil’ lady is looking for a loving new home. She is a Kids-Sky 1/4 Moonstone in NS-Yellow, which I purchased from Alice Collections back in 2015. New this sculpt retails for $234, but...

You can see Moonstone’s official promo photos here. For those of you unaware, Kids-Sky is a BJD company from China.

Comes complete with original box, pillow fluff padding, default 16mm glass eyes, underwear, and COA. Sales photos taken indoors under natural lighting.

Moonstone has been kept in my sun-proof doll cabinet since I purchased her. Any yellowing she may have is even and typical of a doll her age.

There is some slight paint residue between her lips and on her eyelids from a prior face-up. I’m almost positive it can be removed, but I don’t have the proper tools (or patience, lol).

Scratches, etc. are minimal. Please see photos for details. Her fingernails have clear water-based gloss on them, which I will happily remove by request. Moonstone will be packed w/ care and shipped w/in 24 hours of payment! Given the price I’m selling her for, she’d make a great candidate for mods. ;)

I’m at a place where I’m happy with the number, I have all the important characters from my story shelled. I’ve been throwing around the idea of reshelling one of my dolls but I haven’t decided if I want to yet. I really need to focus on other things, like shoes that fit Momo or that Mica can actually stand in.

I said it on IG but I’ll say it here too, 2018 was the first year I felt like I was actually a part of the “community” I rarely posted my dolls online before 2018 and never really talked to people. I’ve got real bad social anxiety, even on the internet but getting to interact with other doll owners this year has been a highlight of my 2018. I’m one of those people who had really rough years in 2016 and 2017, I wasn’t hopeful for 2018 but all things considered this year was an amazing year. I made quite a few new friends, I wrote a lot and really got motivated to start a lot of routines that have helped me in so many ways; and most of this progress was thanks to my dolls. I really appreciate all of the interactions. The comments on my dolls have really warmed my heart, especially some of the tags people have left during their reblogs <3

There are many alternative to recasts. You don't NEED that specific doll. Artists who make these dolls aren't hypothetical people, or people in a bubble outside of reality. They are real people who have the same financial and mental pressures and weaknesses as you. Respect people even if they aren't in your physical life (ie: like being on a different continent than you).

alternative take away: if you want to buy a doll from a Chinese brand, you can probably find it on Taobao with less of a mark up.

WiP - Clothes for Reese

Reese's design is very loosely based on the wrapping paper for Reese's peanut butter cups as I see them as one of THE halloween related candies (yeah more the pumpkin shaped ones or the ghosts I know but the wrapping paper is boring XD) i tried to incooperate that somehow.

A fun and quick sewing projects done in a few hours. I wonder.... if I should get some Reese's stuff for photos...?

This is true! I don't know how much I've mentioned about my bjd collection here, but the vast majority of it is "shelling"— as in, making existing characters in doll form. owo

I'm currently doing the Innocents Shounen Juujigun characters, the modern guns from Senjuushi, and hopefully sometime soon, the Criminal Girls 2 girls... Hikari was one of my three original 1/6's. Her company pictures on Alice's Collections REALLY caught my attention, so she wound up styled similarly to those... >.> Her eyes were originally supposed to be for Etienne (they didn't fit), and have Swarovski crystal in them!

Here we have a Kids Sky Gold in normal pink skin. He’s meant to be an albino character of the client. Sadly his applied eyelashes got a bit messy due to some struggles with them. 

First the client didn’t like the black bases for these lashes, so I swapped them for ones that had clear bases that I’d been saving for a year at this point to use on one of my own dolls... but those were too long so I went back to the first pair and painted the bases brown. I didn’t want to use up anymore of my premium lashes for those cost me more than strip lashes... the client was satisfied with this solution at least!
