#kidnapped Kensi

heyy, I just wanted to say that I love your work and wanted to ask if you can write a story where Kensi is pregnant and Deeks and her haven’t told the team yet, but then Kensi gets in trouble (kidnapped or something) and in all the panic Deeks tells the team they’re having a baby and then of course they find her and everyone is happy!
(post season 14)
A/N: Thanks, anon! That’s so kind of you.

Collateral Damage
“What do you think? Can you tell that I’m 13 weeks pregnant?”
Deeks tilted his head, considering her outfit since she’d asked. She lifted her arms, turning in a slow circle. Her shirt was slightly looser than typical, but otherwise, Deeks didn’t see any obvious signs.
Of course, there were the little things. Like the actual glow to her cheeks, or the way she occasionally placed her hand on her stomach without realizing.
“Nope. You’re good,” he confirmed.
“Great.” Kensi sighed, slipping on a pair of shoes.
“You know somebody’s going to figure it out pretty soon though, right?”
“Deeks, we agreed—”
“I know,” Deeks assured her, gently cupping her shoulders. “I want to keep this just between our family for a while too. But let’s face it; we work with a bunch of investigative experts. On top of that, Sam has two kids. Somebody’s bound to pick up on your sudden disdain for anything with corn.”
“You’re right.” Kensi sighed, this time regret in the sound. “I just wanted this to be ours without worrying about other people’s opinions. “It’s been so nice. Just the two of us. Well, four.” She laughed soft, and pressed her forehead against Deeks’. “I love you.”
“I love you too. And it’s going to be fine.”
***
“So Johnson isn’t talking?” Callen asked, and Deeks shook his head.
“Nope. Sam even glared at him for a full minute. I threw a lot of legal jargon at him. He’s not biting,” Deeks said.
“He seemed smug,” Sam added.
“Did Fatima and Kensi get anywhere?” Resting his hand on the back of his desk chair, Deeks nodded at Rountree.
“I haven’t heard from them yet,” Rountree answered.
In lieu of their usual pairings, Deeks and Sam had been sent to retrieve the suspect in a murder, while Fatima and Kensi went to interview the dead man’s wife. Deeks couldn’t deny that he as somewhat relieved at Kensi being out of the direct line of fire. He knew she could still take care of herself, but it didn’t mean he liked it.
“Ok, check in with them when we’re done here,” Called decided. “If a Johnson isn’t giving us anything, we’ll need to find something on him that’ll give him some inspiration.”
“I’ll start digging—” Rountree started to say, then interrupted himself, raising a finger. “Incoming call from Fatima. Hey, what’s up—woah, woah, slowly down! What happened?”
Deeks leaned forward, his stomach clenching at Rountree’s tone.
“Devin, what’s going on?” Sam asked, but Rountree held up his hand, putting his head down as he listened. “No, it’s ok. It’s not your fault. I’m gonna call LAPD right now.”
“Rountree,” Callen prompted as he ended the call. Licking his lips, Rountree’s gaze flickered between them, lingering on Deeks for a few extra seconds.
“Kensi and Fatima were mid-way through their interview when Kensi heard a noise. The wife insisted it was nothing. Kensi went to investigate anyway and someone opened fire. Fatima says there were at least three armed men.” His eyes flicked to Deeks again. “They took Kensi.”
Deeks vision swam, and for a second, it felt like all the air had been sucked from his lungs, and his knees started to buckle. Kensi needed him. He shook off the disorientation, anger filling him along with the desperate need to destroy something.
“Deeks, you ok?” Sam asked softly, but Deeks ignored him, focusing on Rountree. If he focused on getting Kensi back, he would be ok.
“When did it happen? Did Fatima see who took her?”
“A couple minutes before she called. And she said they were masked. I’m sorry, Deeks.”
“It’s not your fault,” Deeks murmured, echoing Rountree’s own reassurance. He dragged a hand through his hair, desperately trying to keep his mind from spiraling, yet all he could think of was Kensi dead somewhere. And the twins—
“Deeks, we’re going to find here,” Sam assured him. “We always do.”
“Then why are still standing around talking? We need to get out there before they get too far,” Deeks said, spinning around with the intent of heading for the armory.
“Hey, Deeks, we’ve been here before, and rushing in never works,” Callen warned him, putting a hand on Deeks’ shoulder.
He shook it off, more aggressively than he normally would. “It’s not just about Kensi,” he snapped.
“What do you mean?” Sam asked, suspicion in his voice, and some of Deeks’ anger dissipated, replaced by fear again, and grief.
“She’s pregnant,” he whispered. “Kensi’s pregnant.”
***
A/N: I hope that was suitably angsty and dramatic. Part two to follow.
Thanks for the prompt!

My sister has never not told me something before. We used to share every secret, every thought. While I was in the attic, it felt like we were forever far away. Now I'm with her again. We're so close that we're touching, but there's still a distance between us.

all this holiday angst omg…what happened to joy? what about the twins planning a stakeout to catch santa?? home alone level traps for the man, sephy trying to explain that *no ones* getting presents if they kidnap santa, kensie’s crying bc what are all the reindeers and elves gonna do without santa, and nb and eddie are just trying to figure out how to deal with this all
joy during the holiday times????? impossible.
lmao but that's actually so sweet. kensie 1000% rats them out because the twins didn't let her do something and she got her feelings hurt.
eddie is in a panic bc if it was sephy or kensie he could convince them not to but the twins? hell no. once they're determined there's nothing stopping them.
he and nb have an intervention in the garage. "what if we just put a little benadryl in their food? so they have to fall asleep?"
"are you fucking insane? i am not drugging our four year olds."
"well then you come up with something then! because i don't know what the fuck to do!" eddie throws his hands out, voice in a harsh whisper.
eventually nb takes to "getting a call from santa" (farrah on the other end) threatening to not come see the girls because he heard of their plan.
"told you, he sees everything." eddie shrugs, eyeing the twins carefully to see if they actually bought it. thankfully they did, maybe kensie's deep wails and panicked cries helped seal the deal, but they took the traps down.
"you better hope santa still decides to come. that's not a nice thing to do." nb adds, giving them a firm look that's hard to muster honestly, because the overall chaos of the situation is a little laughable.
her and eddie def laugh about it later, once they've confirmed the girls are asleep and they're setting out the presents and eating the cookies.

Let’s Save That for Home
***
“Hey, I just got a call from the school. Caleb and Sophia’s teacher has requested we stop in for a meeting,” Deeks informed Kensi.
“Oh, not again,” Kensi groaned.
“I mean, at least it’s only the second time this year.”
“Which wouldn’t be that bad if the first time wasn’t because they told an entire table of six year olds ‘mommy and daddy don’t shoot people anymore’.” Pinching the bridge of her nose, Kensi exhaled extremely slowly.
“Yeah, that was not a fun meeting,” Deeks agreed. “I suppose it’s a relief they didn’t actually try to bring a weapon to show off.”
“That makes me feel so much better,” Kensi said.
“I guess we better find out what happened.”
With a reluctant sigh, she took his offered hand, and they walked to the twins’ room together. They found Caleb and Sophia laying on the floor, coloring a giant picture of Disney characters, the very picture of innocence.
“Caleb, Sophia.”
Caleb paused long enough to look up. “Hey.”
“Is it time for dinner?” Sophia asked, mouth slightly open as she worked at a small section of the picture.
“No, we have about half an hour,” Deeks said, getting down on his knees beside them. Kensi joined him, sitting cross-legged. “Did anything happen at school today?”
Sophia tilted her head, looking remarkably like Kensi. “We watched a video about penguins,” she answered.
“And Liam got sick in gym,” Caleb added.
“Well, that’s lovely.”
“That’s not quite what we meant. Mrs. Rosenbaum called us. Do you know why that might be?” Kensi asked, raising an eyebrow at the twins. Caleb just shrugged.
“I don’t know. Wait, we did have to go to the principal’s office.”
“I’d think something like that would stand out in my mind, but ok. Why were you in the principal’s office?” Deeks caught Kensi’s eyes, and saw the worried anticipation in her expression.
“I don’t know. We were just playing bad guys and good guys during recess and showed Elijah defensive stragegies and then Mrs. Clark said it was against the rules,” Sophia explained.
“And she took us to the principal,” Caleb finished.
Caught between grim amusement and consternation, Deeks cleared his throat, and asked,
“Exactly what defense strategies did you show him?”
“A roundhouse and flipping him on the ground. Just like Uncle Sam showed us.” Caleb nodded proudly.
“I’m the one who flipped him,” Sophia said, puffing out her chest.
“Oh, I’m sure you did,” Kensi groaned.
“Just like your mama,” Deeks muttered. When Kensi gave him a sharp look he shrugged. “Thanks so much, Sam.”
Drawing in another breath, Kensi took Caleb and Sophia’s hand. “Guys, remember how we talked about there being certain things that you don’t do or talk about at school?”
“I thought that was just for stuff with weapons and Uncle Arkady and Grandma Deeks’ stories.” Sophia looked to Deeks in obvious confusion.
“Oh it is,” Deeks assured her. “We just neglected to add that you shouldn’t show your friends and of the things your uncles show you. So that means no judo, tae kwon do, kickboxing, karate—”
Caleb raised a hand.
“—or wrestling,” Deeks finished, and Caleb lowered his hand, shoulders slumping.
“Sorry we messed up,” Sophia said softly. And didn’t that just break his heart.
Sighing, Deeks pulled her into his lap; Kensi hugged Caleb into her side. “We know you didn’t mean to, but you gotta be a little more careful, ok?”
“Yeah, please don’t beat up your friends anymore.”
They got two nods and Sophia hugged him tightly.
“Hey, why don’t you guys get ready for dinner? Then we’ll check any homework.” Deeks patted Sophia’s shoulder and reached over to ruffle Caleb’s hair.
“Ok! Then can you tell us about the bad man who tried to kidnap you on your wedding?” Caleb requested excitedly.
“No, I wanna hear about when Mommy and Daddy met!”
Getting up, Deeks held out a hand to help Kensi stand as the twins argued.
“Sometimes I wonder what it would be like to be normal,” Kensi said.
“It would probably be a lot less interesting. And we’d probably never have met.”
“In that case, I wouldn’t change a thing.” Kensi kissed him quickly.

NCIS: Los Angeles – Series Recap
Oh, there were plenty of sailors and Marines who got themselves in trouble, who were victims of bad people or were bad people themselves and who, week in and week out, were parts of mostly interesting cases. The program examined terrorism, international entanglements, America’s ever changing relationships foreign and domestic.
The program opened with Callen the orphan and ended with Callen the family man with a father he knew, a sister and a mother whose deaths were explained, another sister with son, a wife with an Arkady.
Sam was the SEAL who wound up being a leader of men, a math whiz, a son, a father and a husband. The show’s worst move in 14-seasons by far was the death of Michelle Hanna. While far too many programs kill their female characters, Michelle Hanna was an experience CIA operative. A death in the field would be the way a CIA officer could die. Kidnapped by an enemy of Sam to make Sam miserable – Michelle went from being a bad-ass character to a plot point. Worst move. Nothing comes close.
Kensi, like Callen, came into the program alone and left with answers about her father, a relationship with her mother, a husband, a daughter and a child on the way. The character who always thought the people in her life left her, especially the men, found herself with people who always wanted to be near her.
Deeks didn’t work as a lawyer and didn’t work with the LAPD but found a professional home at NCIS and an actual home with Kensi. Hetty offered him a job in season two, made sure he got the job ten-seasons later. It took some time but Deeks won over Sam to start season five and Kensi in season six.
Eric was the first NCIS: Los Angeles voice ever heard when he was the first OSP team member to speak in the NCIS “Legend” episode. He was the tech guy who learned how to go into the field. He wasn’t comfortable with a gun but used it when needed. He got a couple of undercover assignments and succeeded. By the end, he took his vast computer knowledge and turned it into a fortune he hoped to turn into good works.
Like Deeks, Nell joined the team after the show began. She started as someone looking to impress Hetty, ended her time in the office as Hetty and finished the program looking for Hetty, In Hetty, Nell found a mentor until she realized that the people you admire are sometimes flawed people. Nell found a partner in Eric who was fine with Nell being the smartest person in every room.
Fatima and Rountree, late additions to the team, fit in perfectly. Both were looking to find their places in the world. Both had interesting life experience before joining the government – acting and sports – and neither seemed to miss what made those worlds so important to them in the past.
In Fatima, it was nice to see a person strong her in faith. Television often gives short shrift to people who practice their faith, seeing them as easy punch lines instead of people living what they believe. With Rountree, there was someone who carried a heavy responsibility as a young man, taking care of himself and his sister, and did it with love. The scenes with Jordyn were always about lifting each other up – the best part of family.
Hetty was Hetty. Linda Hunt infused so much into that character. When a great actress is given a meaty part – it is fun to watch. Some of the best acting in the show’s run was Hetty talking to the ghost of Lauren Hunter in the morgue. No yelling and screaming, no crying and shaking a fist at God. Just a conversation with one’s conscience.
About half way through season 13, I realized that about 80% of Kilbride’s dialogue could have worked as Hetty’s dialogue. That’s a compliment because as quickly as Linda Hunt made Hetty a fixture in the “NCIS Verse”, Gerald McRaney did the same. Yes, Kilbride had a few appearances before joining the program fulltime but he was perfect for running the team because the attitude was the same as Hetty’s if the delivery was a little different. And like Linda Hunt, it was great to see such “a real pro” on my show every week.
There was Dom and Renko, two rather meaningful deaths. While I have complained often that death is cheap on television (see Michelle Hanna), occasionally losing a team member is a reminder that the stakes are high. Everyone knew the red-shirted crew member going to the new planet with Kirk, Spock and Bones wasn’t coming back. When Dom was finally free, seeing him killed a few minutes later was stunning. Same with Renko, who was a part of the NCIS “Legend” episodes as well – he survived the surgery only to die of his wounds hours later.
Harley Hidoko’s death was cruel and back to the death is cheap mode. Have her walk away from Mosley after learning Mosley tortured a suspect and fired Deeks for being bother by it if there was no future planned for the character. Instead, a drug cartel cut out her tongue and set her on fire while she was a live to tell us, I guess, that drug cartels are run by bad people. Well thanks for that info – nobody ever heard of that before about drug cartels.
They dropped the ball on some storylines. Shay Mosley disappeared as did whatever investigation John Rogers was running. Deputy Director Louis Ochoa went to Washington to clear something up and never returned.
Miguel Ferrer was missed in the final seasons. He had a presence and a delivery that allowed Granger to move from the man who wanted to take down Kensi to the man Kensi wanted to walk her down the aisle.
I had a friend who had surgery with a long rehab. She was asking for episodes of shows she didn’t watch to see if she would be interested in watching the show while she recovered/rehabbed. I suggested the “Absolution”/“Deliverance” episodes from season two. It was what the program did best – action, humor, spy stuff, great episodes for all the characters and unlike the mothership that always hid the fact that the program was shot in Los Angeles, LA was a major character in the two-episodes. She found Justified instead.
So goodbye show. I still see you early mornings on USA and happy to find you there. USA has more sports now and lots of other shows to feature in their line-up. But when I had to get up a few weeks ago because the plumbing in my bathroom is shot, it was fun waiting for the plumbers watching “The Guardian”/”False Flag”/”Let Fate Decide” – and oh, they never said who killed Ellie Sims. Death remains cheap when it comes to female characters.

Coming up on a year since NCIS: Los Angeles’ swan song, Daniela Ruah pulls double duty this Monday, April 15, during CBS‘ NCIS line-up.
First up, Ruah reprises her role as Special Agent Kensi Deeks (via an MTAC video conference) during the NCIS franchise’s milestone 1,000th episode, which airs at 9/8c as an episode of NCIS. Then at 10 pm that night, you have the NCIS: Hawai’i episode “The Next Thousand,” which Ruah directed. (Ruah previously directed a half-dozen NCIS: LA episodes, as well as the recent NCIS episode about a kidnapped fiancé.)
TVLine hopped on the phone with Ruah to ask our No. 1 burning question about her NCIS “1,000” cameo, and then talk up her helming of the NCIS: Hawai’i episode about a U.S. Army SERE (Survival, Evasion, Resistance and Escape) training exercise on the Big Island that turns extremely deadly.
TVLINE | First of all, because Kensi dials into MTAC from her car during the NCIS franchise’s 1,000th episode, I need to know: Did you film your scene while you were in a drop-off line? [Laughs] No, I actually filmed that while I was directing in Hawaii. They were like, “Can we fit this into your schedule?” and we were like, “Well, we can’t make it look like I’m in Hawaii.” So, we had to go back and look at pictures of what Kensi’s car looked like to try and get something as similar as possible, to look like Kensi is in her car. I couldn’t even remember, to be honest with you, what brand she drove — I was so immersed in the Hawaii episode – but listen, I wouldn’t have it any other way. To be invited to be a part of the 1,000th episode was such an honor. It’s too big of a deal.
TVLINE | Turning to NCIS: Hawai’i, the episode they gave you to direct is crazy intense. Once you saw what it was going to be, were you charged up? First of all, the fact that all three showrunners wrote it, Jan [Nash], Matt [Bosack] and Chris [Silber], that right there tells you that there’s probably going to be, you know, a little more craziness, or it’ll be more out-of-the-box. I don’t know why, but I always perceive that when a showrunner writes something, they get extra creative.
TVLINE | I think about the specific challenges that this episode must have presented you as director, and not only is almost all of it outdoors, but it’s in the jungle. Did you have to learn anything new in that respect? Yeah — wear long pants and long sleeves, and bring mosquito spray. [Laughs] No, every time I direct something, even if it was still on [NCIS: LA], you’re always learning new things. Here I’m working with a new crew, with a new director of photography, so everybody’s going to teach you new things. Even stunts — when Tennant gets [spoiler], they said, “Here are things that we could do…,” which then allowed me to get creative with the way it was shot.
TVLINE | My next question was actually going to ask, where was that area of volcanic rock? Because it made for some stunning shots. That’s a place called the Lānaʻi Lookout — and there’s water right behind those rocks. I mean, we were literally on the ocean, so we had to adjust the camera angles to hide the water. Like, you shoot one inch to the left or to the right, and all of a sudden you’re exposing the fact that you’re actually not in this barren, isolated area. That’s the strategy and the magic and the figuring out that I have to do as a director.
TVLINE | The episode opens closes with some nice scenes between Tennant and Kate (played by Tori Anderson), which is a character dynamic the fans enjoy. What were you looking to capture there? First of all, [Vanessa and Tori] are both absolute sweethearts, and they have such amazing chemistry in real life, so it’s not a hard thing to do scenes with them. But yeah, you get this contrast of a character, Tennant, who is experienced and can improvise and who has kind of “seen it all,” versus a newer agent who’s really eager to do well, but she’s super by-the-book.
TVLINE | The Sam/Kate scenes are also interesting because — and this didn’t dawn on me until Kate mentioned it herself — they hadn’t really interacted yet. Exactly. Yeah, I love that conversation that Kate and Sam have at the desk when she’s just kind of struggling to figure things out, and he tells a little story of his own past and his own experience….
TVLINE | Sam specifically shares with Kate some advice he once got from an agent “much wiser” than him. I tried Googling the line he says, but came up empty. Was it from any NCIS: LA episode? Maybe it was Hetty…? I know that there is one Easter egg [in the episode] from Gibbs, and so maybe the other one was Hetty. Maybe. I’m not sure!

15 for the book ask please!
15. recommend and review a book.
My recommendation/review is:
Aftermath by Clara Kensie
You know those horrible stories you hear about people (mostly women) being held captive in basements for years? Have you ever wondered what happens to them after they get their freedom back?
Aftermath is a YA novel about the, well, aftermath of a teenage girl named Charlotte being held captive in the attic of her kidnapper for 4 years and then getting rescued. The focus is not on her captivity; while it's clear that horrible things happened to her and she's deeply traumatized, the book is largely about her recovery and reintegration back into society. It's also about how Charlotte's friends and family coped with her disappearance; her twin sister took it especially hard. Now they need to all heal as a community.
I really love how realistic this story is. Like I said, Charlotte's rescue isn't the end of the story; it's the very beginning. When she reunites with her family and gets home, she doesn't just get to pick back up where things left off; the dynamics are all different, and she needs to adjust to them on top of trying to recover from her captivity both physically and emotionally.
Also, in case you're wondering, Clara Kensie thankfully does not get graphic or gratuitous about the details of what Charlotte endured during her captivity. Much is implied, but the emphasis really is on the thoughts and feelings of Charlotte. I would still go ahead and put in a content warning for sexual assault, kidnapping, and pedophilia if you're sensitive to any of these topics, but like I said thankfully none of it is described in detail.
I would highly, highly recommend this book. It's one of my favorites!

I’ve been really good about exercising, but I can’t do that and do other things including stop and watch LA. It’s okay, I used my under desk bike a bit today. It was not enough for my FitBit which kept screaming at me every hour like, “Hey, you just over 200 steps to reach this goal for the hour” — and it was 10 til. I appreciate the confidence, FitBit, I do. But no. I had to work.
ANYWAY, I’m home tomorrow (YAY Mardi Gras!), and Pest Control is coming to spray. I don’t know when, so it makes more sense to watch the show tonight without possible interruptions.
It’s our girls! And they’re smoking! In more ways than one! The show has the realism of a superhero/action movie and now they’ve got supervillain methods for disposing of our heroes. Like, I’m sure Kensi has a fire extinguisher in her utility belt.
I’m sorry, but this gym scene has line readings that feel like a Human Resources training video interaction. I like that Fatima found her a nice guy. You get yours, girl. You get yours!
I’m with everyone who is like, “Um, did Raymond go with Sam to the dead professor’s party? And when he got kidnapped in Hawaii? And when he was on weird secret deep cover mission?” Or did the time rewind in this episode jump back too far to be before those other episodes? Are we still dealing with different multiverse realities, but now we go back and forth?
Still love that scene. I’ve watched it multiple times since the sneak came out. Sam is so mad. He wanted Callen to find peace and growth, and now that he has, Callen gets to be the emotionally intelligent one in the conversation sometimes.
I was asking questions, and got distracted. But it was really just case stuff. And Admiral Kilbride just deciding to step in randomly again. At least Callen got to give some orders. And we got to see Castor. Oh, there’s some job openings somewhere in NCIS? Is there anything for Kensi and Deeks with less fieldwork? Gotta keep those possibilities open!
Seal Team TWO? I’m guessing that’s less than ONE, but more than Seal Team THREE.
OMG! Those quick bits of ominous music after each line of delivery. If you don’t trust the gravitas of the dialogue, then write different dialogue!!!

Waking Nightmare
by Bi_disaster_writer If there’s one thing Deeks had learned to count on, it was that Hetty was never wrong. Of course no one could be right one hundred percent of the time, but when Hetty told you something it was almost always true, and Deeks had never had any reason to doubt her. Until now. As he lays there, stunned, with blood dripping into his eye, his first thought is that Hetty couldn’t have been more wrong. When Deeks' father, long thought to be dead, shows up and kidnaps him and attacks Kensi, Sam and Caleb race against the clock to find him before it's too late. After yoga they all go off to work and Kate with a renewed sense of determination to help rid her sisters best friend of her personal nightmare she walks into work and sits down and goes though the files as the rest of the team filters in and she decides to go downstairs to train a bit more before Abby comes in to work. After finishing the training it hits her who it is with the files maura has sent over along with Claire’s on Lindsay’s personal nemesis she races back upstairs to the team all drowned in their own work and Salone waiting for her
Hey Kate whats up i've been waiting
Sorry Jack i was training and going though Mauras and Claires files and i found something
Then what is it Kate
Um i can't say because, she says gustering to her working team mates behind her and what will they think
Katie it won't matter their your family like the Rizzoli’s are mine they haven't treated you any differently sense they found out like my family you owe this to us we all have faith in you,Maura’s voice whispers though her necklace as Jack smiles and nods at Kate's smile and calls the attention of the bullpen
Gibbs and a majority of the team minus Tony looks at Kate's body language and face and smiles and he breaks the silence and gently says what do you got Katie
The jackpot Gibbs the victims all shows signs of multiple serial killers as you all and dr . Mallard after consulting dr. Washburn in san francisco the calling card of the kiss me not killer but if you all could note the missing hands and slit thorout the calling cards of Dennis Rockmond who recently kidnapped dr Isles the chief medical examiner of the commonwealth of massachusetts my home state and the calling card of the surgeon Charles Hoyt who is known for escaping for one condition and to kidnap bpd detective Jane Rizzoli four times for the last time on his deathbed with the me Dr.Isles so it is by my and Ducky’s personal and professional opinion to call them in because there is an fbi card and dna of agent Gabriel Dean on the body who knows all of these details thanks to captain connors and the warehouse shooting and unrelated but subsequent death of both Paddy Doyle jr. and sr and one of which only has three children with mend ceo and founder Hope Martin her only daughter Cailin Martin is a pre med student at bcu as she had previously believed the triplets to be dead but Paddy sent them to Constance and Autor Isles who are both well off in their own way she smiles at her family's photos and whispers to each of them a solo message to her dad you did what you could to protect us were the only thing you'd protect more firmly than your grasp on the city thanks for the letter dad well each read it when where ready i miss you we know you loved us in your own way and made sure Maura and we are safe you ended the terror and had them all turn themselves in each to life setnatnces to her mom and half sister we all love you we knew Maura would be the one to save you but you've made up for lost time see you both when i'm in town and to her mother and father the ones that raised her we all love you you protected us you got me here Helene to bcu and Maura to her best friend see you at the next istation mother thanks for trying and father thanks for trying to heal that rift between us love you both. She smiles and nods to Ducky”make the call as you already ran this by everyone who needs to know. She smiles with slight trepidation until she feels her surge of power knowing her sisters are safe a few hours later.
4 months earlier after Jane and Maura reconciled after the accident. At work the day after Kate loses balance with McGee and Torres on scene immediately knowing her sister over exerted herself and almost leads to her fainting but Gibbs helped them set her down and whispers in her ear(tell them katie) she nods and grasps the gem out of her necklace that hold the outfit that shows her true life and her real family.
Guys i need to show you something but you need to promise me not to tell Tony i can't risk him knowing this
They nod
She smiles and hugs them then here we go she lets the gem go flowing above her head shining brightly as ever and encases Kate in the light changing her outfit and hair to her half sisters hand made leather jacket her leather skirt with black tights and combat boots with a tight fitted dress with a irish flag pin and the crown from her bio dad as the eldest and her mothers bracelet and the choker of mend that they all have and Maura has the headband and Helene has the crown as does Maura they each have their own specially made crowns
Mcgee looks shocked Kate whats going on
Tim i'm not taking my birthright none of us are there all dead or in jail with life threatening harm
Torres us what do you mean by us and what the hell is your birthright
Kate smirks and leans against the tree conjuring all of her patience
I'm the eldest of three Helene Ruyanon Tenured professor at bcu in our homestate and Maura Isles the chief medical examiner of the commonwealth of massachusetts and i'm an Isles not a Todd i didn't want our name to push me ahead i wanted to work for it as did Helene. Maura the youngest and the youngest student in med school top of her class but I'm actually not an Isles weather me and my sisters are adopted. She waves her hand and her normal curls form and her hair slightly lightens while keeping its natural shade. She smirks at the confused looks on their faces and glances over to Gibbs who notices the look in her eyes and backs the team up
Let me show you boys my birthright follows me. They nod dumly and Kate's smirk turns into a smile and she pushes off the tree abruptly grabs their hands turns them into the tree she grabs the gem that the three of them have time to tell you what happened yesterday Jane and Maura reconciled after an accented after our dad's death in the wherehouse swipe he would have shot her but then he wouldn't have anyone to protect his youngest and the princess of the family Maura our mother always had thought we were dead but now with what's happened she knows we aren't but it was for the best with Paddys enemies after us at the time now that's all ended
Wait a minute Paddy Doyle head of the most feared Irish mob in Boston found someone to have kids with can I see something Kate
Kate smirks always Tim don't worry I can change back so he won't know what do you want
Your finger for a print running through the database
You don't believe I'm his eldest abbs has the DNA to prove it and the tunnel of hope in sariavjo
Yes I do Kate and it's true but it's still you none of you are like him
No if anything Maura's like our mom Kate says as the gem shifts her back to her outfit and lands in her hand to be placed back in and she smiles at Gibbs getting back to work he comes up to her just as Tony's arriving to whisper proud of you Katie Tony will know in due time. Kate smiles and nods at his ghost and Gibbs smirks go crazy Kate just make it subtle Doyle
Father daughter share mirror smirks and Kate works away as Tony comes to her side
I told you you'd pay for yesterday well my friend was injured and nows that time I have a little friend she nods at the ghost of her father and he begins the day of crazy and in the end he leaves with one prank with his eldest and this message keep up the good work and help protect your sisters love you my girl she smirks as she sets the last prank up before activating it with the family powers.
A few weeks later after the crazy baker case and Maura didn't want to abandon Jane so they trained together but this time kate had decided to train by rearranging her desk on her break when Jack and Grace walked back downstairs after their appointment and Jack smiles at her keep it up Kate each of you are using your powers for what's needed
It took a few months but the team took it well and they were all more accommodating to her power surges and that leads us to now with her and helene soundly sleeping and or medatanting from the strength of knowing that her sister is safe and with Jane
Gibbs is next to her and says tony needs to know and she smiles in agreement the mind message me and jack should get going if want to meet her. A year after the case they have all moved to be closer to Maura.Kate settles down with her sisters and they each think back to that let those letters that they got one from their mom one from their dad. So as happy for your wedding as I am and I am , I can't wait for the wedding and don't worry Tony won’t know I promise you.
She smiles and nods.
6 months later at the wedding in which both of their mothers and their dad and the whole of the homicide division and crime lab as well as one of Jane's informants the entirety of the rizzoli clan minus frank and almost the whole of the ncis crew and Helene and Cailin and Jill, Cindy and Claire along with Lindsay and Serena and with Abbie. This was the party
Susie was her maid of honor then Isla and Lilly with her sisters along with Cailin as bridesmaids and Jane’s best person is Vince with Barry and her sisters are up alongside the happy couple with the crowd smiling and Angela, Constance and Author along with Hope are crying happy tears. As the event draws to a close they head off on their pre approved month long leave in Paris and promises to help each other train well the others do what they can in the states
A month later they return home Kate to her ever present job with happiness and more pictures to put on her desk as she feels comfortable with the pictures being out because her family knows and that's what matters to her. So this is the order of photos her with her sisters, her mother and the triplets with Constance and Author, and her with the wedding party and the crews as well , Cindy, Jill, Clarie with the wedding party, and a rizzoli family photo as well and of course the solo photos with jane and her sisters and her own as well. The team filters in as Kate finishes up with her family magic in placing the photos on her desk the team that was at the wedding smiles at Kate’s clear happiness for her youngest sister minus Tony she spends that morning training and talking with Jack then she heads back down to make true on the promise to her sister of sketching the wedding party using the wedding family photos as a reference point. She happily sketches away when she answers the call from Linsday who she almost instantly sparked up a kinship with.
Hey Kate
Hey Lins what's up i'm working on the thing i promised Maura
Good good see you in town when your done
Always
She smiles as she ends the call and gets into sketching the family around the wedding party and while she finishes up with Cailin Tony walks up to the desks after his lunch break.
Whats up Katie what are you doing
Sketching and making true on a promise and i have to add color
Abby smiles at the paper and says looking good Katie and I can't wait to see the finished product. It's looking just as good as that day.

the girls for sure winds kensy up about santa claus just to get a rise out of her
tells her santa is going to steal mom away from dad, shes getting coal for christmas
STOOOPPPPPPP LMAO
she's bawling coming to eddie and nb bc the twins (before there was vega, there was the forces of nature sicily and sienna) told her they put in their letter to santa that kensie needed to be on the naughty list. and they 'sent' their letters off yesterday to the north pole and she is in a PANIC.
eddie is so fuckin' annoyed like??? why the fuck would they say that lmao?? it's funny but it's also got kensy in a panic, so eddie has to "write" his own letter to santa for her telling him not to listen to them.
"their's will get there first!"
"ok well i'm an adult, and santa has to listen to daddy over them."
and when they say the thing about santa kidnapping you (they watched the nightmare before christmas and were evily inspired) kensie goes running to eddie again, wailing and petrified.
"if santa tries to steal mom, i'll kick his- he won't do it. i'll protect her."
"but he's santa!"
"i can take santa. he won't, i promise. santa's a good guy anyways."

A Gesture of my Affection
A/N: You know I had to do it.
***
“Is this Martin Atticus Deeks?”
“Yes,” Deeks replied, instantly on alert at the sound of his full name over the phone. “Who is this?”
“I’m Charles Westhaven of Westhaven and Moore Financial,” the man explained. “I’m calling in reference to your account—”
“Sorry to interrupt you, but I don’t have any accounts with your company. I never have.”
“Well, unfortunately, our records show that you do. If you wish to close it out, you’ll have to come down to our office and fill out some forms.”
“All right, when can I come?” Deeks asked, hoping this wasn’t some plot that ended in him getting kidnapped.
***
Deeks arrived at the Westhaven and Moore Financial building Monday morning. He was ushered into an office almost immediately, by Charles Westhaven himself.
“I’m afraid I got you under slightly false pretenses,” he said once Deeks was seated in a deep cushioned chair.
“Oh here we go,” Deeks muttered. He glanced around for a possible weapon, eyeing the stapler and heavy ceramic paperweight on Westhaven’s Deeks.
“The account I mentioned is actually a trust in your name,” Westhaven continued, oblivious to Deeks’ plans. “Initiated by Anatoli Kirkin.”
“Excuse me?” Deeks said, startled out of his scheming. Anatoli Kirkin has been dead for more than two years.”
“Yes, I’m aware. A few years before he passed, Mr. Kirkin started the fund. He added to it regularly until his death, and it’s been accruing interest the entire time.”
“This is unbelievable.”
“Yes, it can be overwhelming to suddenly come into so much money,” Westhaven agreed, apparently mistaking the source of Deeks’ disbelief. “I understand you’re an attorney, but I do want to make certain you know the terms of this trust. Today we’ll sign the forms to make you the custodian of the trust. You may withdraw a specified amount each fiscal year and the rest is to remain until any and all of your children attend a higher institution.”
“Woah, woah, woah, back up a step,” Deeks said, holding up a hand. “So, not only did Kirkin set up a fund in my name, but he also included my children? I didn’t even have any kids when he passed.”
“Mr. Kirkin wanted any children you should have to be well-provided for. He thought you might have some difficulty accepting his other bequests, which is why he set up the account in this way.”
“Yeah, no. That makes perfect sense.”
Westhaven smiled sympathetically. “I know it’s a lot to take in. I’ll give you a few moments to consider everything while I retrieve the paperwork and the the safety deposit box Mr. Kirkin left in our care for you.”
“Of course there’s a safety deposit box,” Deeks sighed, rubbing his temples.
***
“So, what do we do with this?” Kensi asked, staring at the financial papers Deeks brought home from Westhaven and Moore.
Deeks, Kensi, and Rosa sat around the coffee table, discussing the latest development in the Anatoli Kirkin Saga.
“I have no idea.”
“I mean, this is technically dirty money, right?”
“Almost certainly,” Deeks confirmed. He shook his head, thinking back to the various shenanigans Kirkin had gotten into. “You know, I came to…like that odd little man, as disturbing and as obsessive as he could be, but damn if he isn’t still causing me problems from beyond the grave. Wasn’t leaving me his empire enough?”
“His empire?” Rosa repeated. “What does that mean?”
“After Kirkin died, he left Deeks all his criminal ventures. In the process, his employees abducted Deeks,” Kensi explained.
“Oh mi dios. And you liked this man?”
“It was more of a love-hate relationship. More love on Kirkin’s side.” Deeks cleared his throat. “It’s hard to explain.”
“Why don’t you open the box,” Kensi suggested, gesturing to the safety deposit box displayed in the very center of the table.
Deeks hadn’t dared open it in front of Westhaven after Kirkin’s past “gifts”. He eyes it dubiously, hesitating with the keys in one hand. Drawing in a deep breath, he grabbed the box, inserted both keys and gingerly lifted the lid.
Inside were several items, a thick envelope on the very top. Deeks took that out first, breaking the wax seal—even in death, Kirkin was over-the-top—and pulling out multiple sheets of thick paper.
“My Dear Marty,
I hope this letter finds you well. As always, your interests have been of the most importance to me. You may not agree with some of my methods, such as when I attempted to rescue you on the morning of your wedding (an act fully borne of love).
“Oh good lord,” Deeks groaned, pinching the bridge of his nose and then ruffling his hair. “If Kirkin actually pops out at some point, I’m leaving.”
“He tried to stop your wedding,” Rosa said, turning to Deeks with a raised eyebrow.
“Yes,” Kensi confirmed wryly. “He held a lot of affection for Deeks. It all started in a bathhouse.”
“Moving on!” Deeks said, clearing his throat again to drown out any details Kensi might slip.
He skimmed over the parts of the letter detailing Kirkin’s fond memories of said bathhouse and other moments Deeks would rather forget.
“As an extension, I wish to provide for your family in some way. Your lovely Kensi and any future children that may bless your home.
Please accept these resources as a token of my affection.
Anatoli Kirkin”
P.S. I have also included a few more keepsakes.
“Whelp, that tracks,” Deeks commented, folding the letter back up and jamming it back into the envelope.
“Oh, I bet I know what at least one of these is,” Kensi said with far too much glee for Deeks’ liking.
“Ok, calm down.” He paused to give her a look, and she pressed her lips together, adopting a suitably abashed expression. Satisfied, he turned his attention to the box again and started sifting through the remaining contents.
The next packet contained five medals emblazoned with the patron saint of children. “I guess Kirkin assumed we’d have a big family.” He handed one to Rosa, who accepted it with a smile.
“That’s sweet. What else is there.”
“Uh, some jewelry, a lifetime subscription to a bathhouse—lovely, and—damn it,” he grumbled, trying to conceal the final item, but Kensi was too fast. She snatched it out of his hand, grinning at the small framed painting.
“Oh my god, yes! This is perfect,” she said.
As far as Kirkin portraits went it was fairly benign and in good taste. Starting at mid-shoulder, the image of Deeks looked head-on, head slightly cocked, and a content smile playing at his lips.
“Is that a picture of you, Marty?” Rosa leaned forward to get a better look.
“Yes, yes it is, Rosa.”
“It’s actually very good. I wonder who drew it.”
“We don’t need to delve into that at all.” Deeks shook his head firmly, futilely trying to take it from Kensi.
“Wait, I think I see a tiny A and K,” Rosa continued. She looked at Deeks with a curious expression, one brow raised. “So this man drew a portrait of you?”
“Oh, it wouldn’t be the first time,” Kensi said in the undertone. She gave Deeks a sly look, raising an eyebrow. “At least this one is suitable for mixed company.”
“I think I need to hear this bathhouse story,” Rosa decided.
“Someone shoot me, please,” Deeks begged. “And don’t even think of adding that to your collection,” he added to Kensi, who hastily slipped the portrait out of her pocket.
***
A/N: As always, rest in peace to Kirkin and Ravil Isyanov who portrayed him.

NCIS: Los Angeles Season 14 – Recap
Callen found out everything about his past including the guy who brutally abused him as a child is actually a pretty OK person because he suggested Sam as a possible partner (please don’t slip on the puddle of sarcasm – safety first!). Sam was being primed to talk over the Hetty/Temporary Nell/Kilbride position. Deeks and Detective Whiting are in a good place. Fatima saved a Naval officer from a forced marriage. Kilbride was a Simon Williams.
With the casts’ limited work schedules, there were some interesting pairings with Kensi and Fatima, Sam and Deeks being favorites. Callen, Sam and Deeks worked on a task force together, leaving Kensi to work with Lance Hamilton and Vostanik Sabatino on a case. Callen joined Sam on a taskforce leaving Deeks to be Swedish nobility to save Arkady.
As for family, Callen married Anna and I guess got Arkady in the deal. Sam was all family this season as he dealt with Raymond’s condition and Aiden’s near death experience while reminded Kam that he loves her for who she is. Kensi got to be a good Mom to Rosa before learning she was becoming a mother again. Deeks had Dad-Jokes for days and a conversation with Bertie about their past together. Fatima tried to figure out if Akhil is Mr. Right or Mr. Right Now. Rountree rekindled a relationship with FBI Agent Summer Morehurst, who he dated in the FBI. Rountree and his sister Jordyn got some money but not a lot of justice from the LAPD. Kilbride had some time with his ex-wife before visiting his troubled son in San Francisco.
The OSP worked with the NCIS teams from Washington and Los Angeles, the CIA, FBI, ATF, US Marshal’s Service and LAPD. There was Daisy the NCIS Cold Case Agent who should have joined the show in season eight or nine. Nina Barnes also would have been a delightful addition several seasons ago.
There were return appearances from Arkady and Anna Kolchek, Raymond, Aiden, Kam, Roberta Deeks, Rosa Reyes, Akhil Ali, Jordyn Rountree, Shyla Dahr, Nate Getz, Nina Barnes, Lisa Rand, Lance Hamilton, Ellen Whiting, Vostanik Sabatino, Pembrook, Leah Novak, Tom Olsen and those awful Body Stitchers people.
Agent Campbell was ‘this close’ to be a regular (and maybe getting a first name like Callen). Nell was a delightful surprise at the end of the show’s run. I’d like video of Eric’s TED Talk.
Trips included Callen to San Diego, Kensi to Utah, Kensi and Fatima to the US Allegiance, Kilbride in San Francisco, Callen and Sam to Washington DC, Sam was kidnapped to Hawai’i with Callen showing up in the Aloha State to help rescue him. Deeks passed on a trip to Costa Rica as part of being a good husband so Rountree went instead. Callen put off his honeymoon in Greece to go Hetty hunting with Sam, Nate, Sabatino and the New Guy in Morocco.
Three best episodes: “Glory of the Sea” “Flesh and Blood” “New Beginnings Part II”
Worst episodes: All the Drona drama.
Most frustrating episode: “Body Stitchers” – while I’ll happily admit that “The Monster” isn’t my “go to” episode when I want to have a good mind cleansing hour, that was a tense, well done hour. When I saw they were bringing them back, I thought we’d have a tense, well done hour where the bad guys (and gal) got caught. Instead, there were new baddies including a government weirdo in a bad tie. When a show is in season 14, it’s time to start wrapping up storylines, not introducing new ones. ---
I missed the show since it ended. I like The Equalizer, like Tracker, the new Watson series with Morris Chestnut looks right up my alley but I miss the program on Sundays (and Tuesdays and Mondays). It was a fun run.
