Day 15: summer

This is what it’s felt like, tbh

Heya!

Looks like I can't get enough of the Klink line! With today's Sept-Ingo prompt, I couldn't help but think of the bros first receiving their Klinks as their starter Pokemon! Ingo's Klink liked him immediately in first hearing the enthusiastic sound of his voice!

I couldn't help but sneak Emmet in the back there hehe. I'm sure he wanted to battle with his bro the very second he got his hands on his own Pokemon!

(I think Ingo picked up his signature "bravo" phrase as a kid, but before he learned one of his most favorite words, he used other cute utterances such as "wowie!" and "gosh" and perhaps even a "gee willikers, mister!!". (His adult self might pull those out again once in a while XD).

When drawing their kiddy versions, I felt a bit lost on how to draw their hair! For inspiration, I looked at @noxstrages submas kid designs! Please take a look at it! They're so sweet!

I might take a better picture later. It's a bit late here, so I didn't take the time to clear up some smudges or fix the lighting. >>

if you're wondering why emmet says he doesn' t need to hear, I have a hard of hearing HC with him (i try to draw him with hearing aids whenever it fits)

Elesa: Hiiiii, Ingo, Emmet, my friends... Can I dye my hair at your guys' house? Ingo: She said 'No', like I said she would, didn't she? Elesa: Maybe Emmet: Did you bring my dye, too? Elesa: Yeah, duh! Emmet: Then, yes!

Panel 2:

Ingo: So... What's the plan for when they prohibit us from meeting again? Elesa: It'll be fine! We'll meet up like we did after we cut your hair! Emmet: i don't need to hear to know we're fucked again. Ingo: We will be if you say that word in front of them. Elesa: Trust me! We'll be just fine! Emmet: Yep. Verrry fucked. Ingo: EMMET. Ingo: He is right though.

lol that’s because Emmet takes on the role of Barry in DxP REWRITE as the rival character! Different teams, certainly different circumstances, but yeah! Part of it was for the plot, but part of it was based on my own playthrough of Shining Pearl where I just decided to name the rival “Emmet” & pretended all his running around was Emmet looking around Sinnoh for clues about Ingo:

It is funny; I gave Emmet his messenger bag & green scarf, but they both already wear stripes & both are always battle-ready, so it wasn’t too much of a stretch on the imagination! 💭
