okay so, later into the lowerclass uprising, after megs became a gladiator but before orion got the matrix, Megs was leading a protest with Orions help. unfortunately this ended up turning into a riot after some enforcers got involved.

Megatron was a big figure to the lower classes cause, so that means he was also a big target for those against it. and one of these people brought acid to this protest turned riot and was trying to hit megatron with it. Orion noticed this and threw himself in the way. he managed to shield his eyes, but his lower face and chest got most of it.

fixing his chest was relatively easy for Ratchet, but faceplates are extremely complicated, and even with extensive repairs he was left without most of his lips and a lot of scarring.

and while the voice box does like.. 90% of the speaking, the mouth does assist, so Orion had to relearn certain sounds, and even now as Optimus he has some difficulties with certain words

long O, M, B, and P are problem letters for him

god i really wanna redesign the rescue bots for TF: High Frequency. I love them so much i need to insert them into my silly little continuity. Chase needs to be the smallest btw i need him to be carried around by his large friends :(

irrational fearss.. mmmmm there was this one post i read a bit ago that was basically coming up with possible fears the bots could have that relate to earth, and for optimus it was roads. and i think about it a lot. Roads are dangerous and optimus is huge, and humans are small, squishy and STUPID. Oppy is 100% a textbook driver and is constantly worrying about all the cars with their tiny little humans in them. she is stressed

AND FUCK YEAH OPPY LOVES AMINALS AND CRECHURS. even as Orion he thought alien life was so cool and was just dying to get off-world some day to see it, so crashing on earth was a lot more exciting for him than most of his crew lol. catch her just sitting perfectly still out in the woods for hours watching squirrels and deer. knows so much about animal behaviors its actually insane. at this point Oppy is an expert ethologist or something 😭 get this guy a moose. They find out about dinosaurs and absolutely loses it. hes like WHAT DO YOU MEAN THERE WERE GIANT FREAKY LIZARDS??? AND I MISSED IT BY MILLIONS OF YEARS??? WUUUAAAAAGGJJYHHGGHGS. and then they find out about fossils and archeology, and then human archeology, and now he's obsessed with ancient human culture too. she makes a holoform for herself just so she can go to museums. every time they go anywhere they just HAVE to go to any museums in the area. just on a normal patrol? museum time!!! just finished checking out a suspicious energy reading? museum time!!!! nearly killed in a fucked up decepticon plan but the autobots won so its fine now? museum time!!!!!!

what im saying is Optimus Prime deserves to go to museums. let that truck in please

welllll ive said most of what i want to in previous posts, but i guess we could look at how a human body reacts to overheating and see how we can apply that !!

heat exhaustion is definitely something they deal with, obviously. along with what ive mentioned before, they can get very dizzy and lightheaded. The braincell gets too hot and straight up leaves. my guy is not thinking. no one is home lol. Its not rare for him to just pass out. cramps also. just everywhere.

tbh she probably has robot asthma at this point lol. with all the smoke coming out of her? no way Orion is breathing right

Before Ratchet came around, the best thing Orion could do was just find some cold dirt and roll around in it. Liquids weren't exactly a common thing on cybertron, so cooling him down with water wasn't an option. (although when oppy was on earth that was always the go-to) opening up any and all panels possible to get some air flow helped tho

and uuhhhhh thats it i guess? if anyone has ideas throw em at me lol

So like ive said, his cooling and ventilation systems have really never worked, so he overheats very easily. smoke just pouring out his mouth. On good days he would just have to lay down and rub some cold dirt on himself and he'd be set in a few minutes , but on his bad days? he could be incapacitated for hours, and even the whole day and a bit of the next. Because of the overheating, sometimes the energon in his tanks would literally start boiling, and his body would make him purge it as to not harm his internals even more (it comes out kinda black. looks like fucked up oil). aaand of course, his systems aren’t just magically fixed when he becomes optimus. in some ways he even gets worse. Now, along with the constant overheating, theres now the issue of the matrix messing with his body.

in this universe, the matrix works a liiiittle but differently. Its not supposed to be physically held by a bot, and instead is supposed to be held my primus while the primes have parts of its energy inside of them. but since primus has grown weaker and the matrix is old and damaged, it can no longer separate itself into energy, and must be physically held by a prime now. But since the matrix isn’t made to be actually inside someone, its causes a lot of issues. Optimus now has to deal with constant chest pain from the matrix just fucking up, but also joint and transformation seam pain because of the weirdass anatomy he has now. Some days he cant do anything but writhe around on the ground in pain. poor guy. blasts him with my whump lasers <3
