Well I’m now thinking of two ideas because you said KHR and my brain went feral but the one I was originally thinking of:

Soulmate AU again. Harry has a soul mark he can’t read, that no one around him can read actually, and he has all but given up hope on finding whoever it is because no translation spells work on them (the closest he Ron and Hermione - who were lucky enough to have each other as their soulmates and Harry is so happy for them even if it sometimes aches that they get to have a family and a soul mate and he… doesn’t - are Norse runes but even those don’t match exactly. Hermione thinks it’s a different dialect or possibly the root language but that can’t be right… can it?) but with everything going on at Hogwarts he is more busy just trying to survive rather than try to find who is supposed to be his soulmate.

Then his name comes out of the goblet.

Then he gets cornered in a cramped room with so many angry adults yelling at him and the older students being the only people who are even trying to stand up for him and then someone is grabbing his shoulders too tightly and it hurts and he thinks he hears Uncle Vernon and —

Every piece of glass in the room explodes at the same time as the night outside is lit up in a blinding array of rainbow light.

Before anyone can figure out what the hell is happening two men just appear in the room brandishing weapons and magic making them step back from Harry. One of the men with dark hair and startlingly green eyes moves in from of Harry, speaking low and soft, coaxing him out of his panic with gentle words and which that doesn’t work swirling bits of magic to distract and center the boy. The other, blond with the scent of ozone hanging heavily around him even as a storm kicks up outside, places himself between the two and the rest of the room watching. Protecting.

Harry comes back to bright green eyes and magic that feels like home more than anything else ever has. He comes back to an Asgardian kneeling in front of him with another protecting him. He comes back to his soulmate who felt his need and came running with his brother in tow.

Like its obviously platonic at least until Harry is older but the amount of chaos Loki and Thor would bring to the triwizard tournament would be ✨unmatched✨

Synopsis:

Till now there's been no magic for Mukuro Rokudo and this is by choice. He lives with his gruff foster father Lancia and his abominable black cat. Mukuro's room is as mundane as any normal human being and he hasn't missed playing pranks with the neighborhood kids.

The real reason why Hogwarts Houseelves are good at cooking (HP X KHR crossover)

Xanxus timetravels to the founders era.

Sounds intriguing, but Xanxus wants his wine back, not this subpar mead alcohol juice whatever it's called.

The wizards don't think xanxus is a muggle because 1. he time traveled so he's clearly a wizard! 2. he can shoot flames from his hands (magic!) and 3. he can kill by pointing his odd looking wand (gun) which is also magic!.

This is why Hogwarts' elves are so good at cooking. Their ancestors learned how to satisfy Xanxus' cooking standards... or die trying. Then they passed the recipes down.

These are very high stakes for good steak. Good steak or death. This shall now be coined as "Xanxus Steak Darwinism".

Slytherin Squalo learning about the sword of Gryffindor?

-Squalo learns about Godric Gryffindor being a duelist through a book in the library, and that’s where he first learns about the Sword of Gryffindor

-He normally only ever cares to research history about his own House, but this is different–this is about possibly the greatest sword of all time

-Ransacks the library to see where the sword ended up, but only discovers rumors, nothing solid

-Interrogates Yamamoto (a Gryffindor), who says that part of the lore is that the Sorting Hat will summon the sword for a true Gryffindor

-Squalo gets the password for Dumbledore’s office from Mammon and drags Yamamoto with him to break into the office during dinner

-Dumbledore knows exactly when the pair get inside his office but isn’t bothered, staying in the Great Hall. He’s amused by Squalo’s efforts, knowing his dedication to swordsmanship

-There’s a good hour of the Sorting Hat resting on Yamamoto’s head and Squalo screaming at it to give him the sword

-It’s about two years later when Tsuna (also a Gryffindor) accidentally summons the sword. He is promptly mauled by Squalo

-Tsuna spends the resulting week frantically trying to steal the Sword of Gryffindor back from Squalo, because if anyone found out he’d be killed for letting a Lion heirloom land in the possession of a Slytherin

-Dumbledore is still amused

The sun was slowly rising in the horizon, lighting up the sky once again. Birds chirped loudly, beginning their day as the cold, stifling air of the night slowly dispersed, letting the warm, clear and fresh air taking its place. Hibari yawned from the window stilt, watching over the castle ground. Hibird snuggled against the crook of his neck, chirping just as brightly as the other birds. Roll was on a cushion on the bed, still sleeping.

Hibari caressed the yellow bird gently, smiling when he heard a knock on the door. He turned to his door, heavily and locked, not getting up at all. The door knob rattled and stopped before it glowed in blue. The door unlocked and was pushed in. Hibari wasted no time and flicked his wrist, wand in hand, aiming at whoever had opened the door with a spell of hex.

"Wow, maiming Hexes first thing in the morning? You sure love me." He twitched when the other canceled the spell with simply a wave of his hand. The teen, a Slytherin like him, was dressed in his robes, the green standing out against the black and white, tie neat. A small chameleon sat on his shoulders jumped off and landed on Hibari's large bed effortlessly. Its owner closed the door behind him, sauntering up the younger teen.

"What do you want, Reborn?" Reborn hummed, placing a hand on the window and another on the wall beside Hibari's head. He leaned close and smirked. "Why, can't a guy meet his partner for some bonding?" Hibari leaned back and looked into his eyes unflinchingly and unimpressed. "No."

"Harsh, I'm hurt, Kyouya." Reborn said with faux hurt. His black eyes said otherwise, however. Hibari rolled his eyes and looked away. Or, he attempted to when Reborn cupped his cheeks and swooped down for a kiss, Hibird flying away. Hibari didn't pull away and let the other kiss him, eyes wide to watch the other teen. Reborn raised an eyebrow, amused as he deepened the kiss. His tongue licked Hibari's soft lips, coaxing the other to open his mouth.

Hibari rolled his eyes again before he closed them, returning the kiss. He could feel Reborn smiling against his lips, but he couldn't care less. Not when his whole being relaxed against the other's warm and strong frame, arms wrapping themselves around his neck. Fingers tangled into his hair as he pulled him closer. They kissed slowly yet intensely, every fiber of their being humming, magical sparks popping.

Eventually, Hibari had to broke the kiss for oxygen, panting and cheeks flushed. Reborn was in almost the same state, but he didn't stop, diving for the neck, kissing and licking. Upon reaching a weak spot, he sucked, leaving a mark. Hibari tugged Reborn's hair sharply. "Don't you dare leave a mark." He growled, pulling him back up for another kiss.

Reborn chuckled against his lips, sound swallowed by the other. A hand slipping into Hibari's shirt, caressing smooth skin, running his fingers on the scars he touched while the other rubbed the he had sucked, he cast a wordless spell, concealing the mark. "My bad."

Hibari had turned his whole body around, leaning against the window instead of the wall, legs winding itself around Reborn's waist. He hummed as they kissed a little longer. They only stopped when they could hear the soft sound on the other side of the door, the other occupants in the dorm waking up. Reborn leaned against Hibari's forehead, a string of saliva still connecting their lips together until Hibari licked his lips.

"Good morning." Reborn whispered, rubbed his nose against the other's affectionately. Hibari hummed, returned the greeting as he pecked on Reborn's lips before they untangled themselves. Reborn walked to the mirror and fixing his appearance, combing his hair. Hibari watched like a hawk, unmoving from where he was. Reborn knew he was watching, but he was unfased by it.

"Well we should get going. I heard that they're making hamburger steak for breakfast."

Hibari raised an eyebrow. Highly impossible, but Reborn might had done something. Hibari hummed, crossing his arms. Reborn gave him an exasperate look. "Well?" Hibari urged. Reborn shook his head and sigh fondly. He waved his right hand and Hibari's uniform floated into his hand from the wardrobe. He helped the younger teen change into his uniform, kissing his hands, shoulder and even his thigh at one point.

"There." Hibari stood there, right in front of him in his uniform, neat and sharp. "Beautiful." Reborn mused, placing a peck on the other's forehead. "Shall we, then?"

Hibari grunted as Reborn slipped his fingers into his, intertwining him and tugging him. Their animal companion stayed in the room as they left, starting their day beside each other.

A/N= I didn't really know how to do Fantasy, so Hogwarts AU it is. I don't really know how Hogwarts work as well though.

So Reborn's in his 6th years while Hibari is in his 5th. Tsuna and the rest of the gang are either in 3rd or 4th. The Arcobaleno are all 6th.

Hibari being lazy but his boyfriend is there to service him anyway :3c (Reborn could've used his magic to help Hibari dress up but nooooo he wants to do that because he's Reborn.)

54: KHR and HP xover? Reborn and Harry, to go with a familiar ship. Or... Harry and Mukuro for something weirder. *smirks*

Harry barely had time to drink the hot chocolate before Reborn descended on her, in perfect tandem with the swooping of her stomach. 

“Are you alright?” he demanded.

Harry set down the mug and took his hands before he started patting her down.

“I’m fine. Luce, she…she protected me from the dementors,” she said. Her voice was even. It did not waver. “She was amazing.”

Luce, so still and so pale in the hospital bed, passed out due to the exhaustion of holding back three dementors all by herself while Harry was uselessly cowering behind her, assaulted by the memory of her mother screaming.

Harry felt awful.

“Thank the First,” Reborn breathed out. He wrenched his hands out of hers and engulfed her in a hug.

She felt stiff and fragile. And most of all, a fraud. Ron got hurt in first year because of her. Hermione got petrified solving the Basilisk problem in second year. And now Luce, keeping her safe and almost loosing her soul in the process.

How could Reborn say that?

“How could you say that? Don’t you hate me? Luce is your cousin, Reborn. She was brilliant and I was just behind her, not even helping. She almost lost her soul!”

Reborns hands on her shoulders were wonderfully warm. He shook he a little to get her attention and his eyes were serious. They were that rare color of blue so dark it looked black. His gaze was so intense they could put a hole into her.

“No, how can you say that?” he said irritably. “I don’t hate you. I could never hate you. That’s the problem. Because Luce knows I like you and she did her best to make sure you’re not hurt.” Then, he seemed to realize what he’d said and his eyes went wide. A faint flush rose up his cheeks.

“What?” she gasped. “Reborn?”

He scrubbed a hand over his face. “Damn it.”

Because Reborn was not the type not to mean what he said, she didn’t ask him to repeat himself. Her ears were working well, Madam Pomfrey just checked her over five minutes ago.

“You like me,” she repeated, mostly to herself. “Alright.”

His hands were still on her shoulders and he realized that belatedly, pulling his hands back like he’d been burnt. Harry’s quick, seeker reflexes kicked in and she grabbed one before he could stuff them back into the pocket of his robes.

“Finally,” croaked a voice from the bed, making both of them jump. “It took three dementors to make you confess.”

Luce’s ocean-blue eyes were opened to slits, but she was smiling at them crookedly.

“I hope I don’t have to do more extreme measures for your first date,” she continued.

Harry’s receding blush returned with a vengeance.

“Luce!” she cried out, part exasperation and worry. “It’s too soon to make a joke of it.”

Reborn wasn’t fazed at all by the teasing. “Yes, Luce. Listen to Harry. And when you’re better, we can go for a meal in the kitchens.”

Their blood relation showed up when Luce smirked, looking exactly like Reborn. “Of course. And I’ll conveniently get lost on my way to the kitchens. Leaving both of you alone.”

Both of them gave Harry an expectant look and she wanted to groan. Leave it to the Slytherin’s to ask her on a date in the most oblique, roundabout way possible.

But still…

“Yes, I’ll go on a kitchen date with you,” she sighed, already resigned. “Oh my god, both of you can stop your hypothetical scenarios.”

Some Ni no Kuni 2 crossover ideas

I tried to find some fun crossovers to read for Ni no Kuni 2, but I was sad to find that there really weren’t that any out there.

But I have no brain for writing (and am trying to keep myself working on a different story) so I’m going to share the ideas that have been swirling around in the back of my head on here and on Ao3. Let other people have the fun of bring them to life.

So, if you see any on here that you like/want to try, go ahead and take them! (Also, I’ll probably be breaking this up into separate posts if I think it’s getting too long.)

Ni no Kuni 2 x Wolfwalkers: Roland as a wolf walker whose magic was damaged and hadn't been able to use it for a long time. (It's been healed/is healing while in Kuni) He uses the limited magic he does have access to help Even and his fledgling kingdom.

~ Roland can’t/doesn’t turn into a wolf when he sleeps, but he can call on some of the heightened senses while human. (He uses them during the escapes and to look out for monsters. Does a good job of preventing ambushes that way.)

~ He can force his wolf to appear in a panic/do or die situation, but it’s more glowing and spectral than solid and can only be present for a few minutes at most. His human body immediately collapses while the wolf is separate and he’s drained/exhausted when he wakes again.

~ Healing minor wounds is doable but it quickly exhausts him. And if he tries to force his magic to heal someone, it’ll have a backlash effect on him. (basically, if he tries to heal a serious injury, he’ll end up injured.)

~ He’s a little wolfy, when he feels like it. Sniffs with his nose, growls when annoyed (and not trying to hide it), huffs when he’s amused, etc.

~ Is also a little amused when it dawns on him that he’s a wolf (big dog) and protecting a Cat-child King.

Ni no Kuni 2 x Harry Potter: Reincarnation AU in HP with Roland as a jilted Harry who's left to build his own life and stumbled into his past lives' friends.

(Look, JKR sucks, but I love the sand box she put out and will gleefully tell canon to shove it while I play there.)

~ (Possibly also have Roland/Harry be not-fully-human?) Roland/Harry lost their magic after an accident/student-sabotage-gone-way-wrong in 4th year, he lost his magic and was basically tossed out by the Wizarding World.

~ Someone tried to sabotage him by keeping him from getting to either the first or second task. Possibly stunned him and locked him somewhere in the castle to keep him from getting their in time. The Hogwarts students seem spiteful enough that I can see someone doing it. Especially an older year who thinks bad of Harry already due to all the questionable things that surround him anyway.

~ Maybe something like Dumbledore favoring him and letting him cheat/be an exception to let Gryffindor be top dog in the school, or that he’d OBVIOUSLY cheated to join and SOMETHING needed to be done since the teachers weren’t doing anything about it, or something else along those lines. And, obviously, they have no idea what the cost for not participating in the Tournament is. (I mean, it never gets brought up in the book/movie. They just say that Harry HAS to participate and he can’t drop out.)

~ The cost was his magic, but thankfully not his life since he WAS entered against his will. He’s not a big fan of them, even though his magic has started coming back. (Or it had been replaced by some kind on non-human inheritance followed several years later by his magic coming back.)

~ Mostly avoids WW and its issues. Just trying to live his (new) life without their drama messing it up.

~ Dadland definitely shows up at some point. Circumstances are still unknown, but it shows up at some point.

~ The not-fully human thing could be an irony-based idea, especially if the not-human Kuni members ARE human in this life.

Ni no Kuni 2 x Katekyo Hitman Reborn: Roland is from KHR-verse, specifically as a Latent but in-the-know when sent to Kuni.

~ He pegs Evan as a Latent Sky (possibly) and starts following him because of that. (Doesn’t think he’ll Harmonize, but he wants to keep the little sky-kitten safe anyways)

~ I wanna say Roland is either a Sun (for his “Sunny” personality), a Cloud (ready to throw down and tough as nails to beat, but also not as wild as a Storn), or a Mist (because that pecker is a politician and that requires being able to bend the truth like it’s a rubber straw).

Alternative for this one: Incarnation Katekyo Hitman Reborn, all their drama is involved but not central to KHR story. (No thoughts on this one. Just that this would be a kind of reverse-world situation of the other KHR fic.)

I have more, but the next/other one is more than a bit longer than these and I feel it deserves it’s own post because of that.

KHR Hogwarts AU! Dera picking a fight with Hib defending his fellow Puff Chrome from the demonic Gryff prefect, who is creepily obsessed with annhilating the poor baby’s owl, which may or may not be a Horcrux of the notorious wizarding criminal Mukuro. I tried lining and coloring on a computer, and it was working out fine until I saved and went to bed, only to open it up the next day and find the colors had fuzzied together and made shading the unfinished parts a nightmare that made things that would take two seconds instead take twenty minutes… HOWEVER the color selection is nothing to scoff at, so I may end up trying again someday? Maybe? That wand, by the way, is hawthorn.

One thing that really annoys me in crossovers:

When powers from other worlds suddenly appear / are accessible in the host world.

Sometimes I swear it’s like an infectious disease.

Someone from Naruto arrives and suddenly people can access chakra (with help of course).

Someone from KHR arrives and people can now summon flames.

Someone from FMA arrives and now Alchemy is suddenly really easy and able to be taught to normal teenagers. (I’m looking at you, Harry Potter.)

Fate Series. BAM! Everyone has circuits they can use. (I’m exaggerating, but STILL.)

It’s so irritating.

The last two powers are something that needs to be studied intensively – not even MENTIONING the compatibility the person has to possess for these abilities. Alchemy is a lifestyle. Magecraft is a lifestyle. These are dedicated crafts you have to devote your life for.

Some random John Doe cannot suddenly transmute concrete into a structure. Not even main characters can.

Harry Potter is not intelligent enough to understand and apply the theories of SCIENCE. He is average. He lives in a magical world where logic doesn’t apply. He’s intelligent in other ways, sure, but not the kind where he can practice Alchemy.

AU’s exist, yes. But when you make a True-To-Canon character learn something FAR out of their skill range, it’s just stupid. And annoying. Once again, unless you make Harry a genius, he will not be using Alchemy. 99.9% of Hogwarts too, for that matter.

There’s a reason why Alchemists are mainly full-grown adults.

Magecraft. Enough said. (Or it should be.)

Don’t get me started. Even full-on GENIUSES spent YEARS learning magecraft.

Dying Will Flames are circumstantial and restricted to the residents of that world, so help me-

(Okay, I admit that I have no idea what’s going on there but I doubt Trinisette exists anywhere else, soooo… that’s my reasoning.)

People don’t even take into account the physiology of these characters.

Big Chakra Tree Fruit makes chakra systems = Not available to worlds that don’t have anything that relates to it.

Magecraft originates from the World, Root etc. that exists in Nasuverse = Not happening. What happened to the Age of Gods and where are the circuits???

Trinisette.

Truth.

Evolution. These people from their respective worlds evolved to possess these abilities. Also whatever spiritual / supernatural phenomena that allows it to happen.

I know I’m being anal about it, but I’m sick of seeing it everywhere.

I’ll still read it, sometimes, but wow does it get on my nerves.

These are just my feelings and thoughts and I wanted to rant. I don’t care. I feel better after writing this though.
