Last night I dropped by Sidney Poitier’s Hollywood Walk of Fame Star to photograph his reef and honor his memory. I remember Kenny Dennis saying one time king ago now he ran to Sidney at Bristol Farms while buying groceries and the 2 exchange pleasantries. I love the idea of a great Jazz drummer running into an acting legend while both are buying groceries. I’m sure they spoke of bygone era I can scarcely imagine but was thrilled to consider. Two sweet old gentleman having a moment of comradery. Years later Karen Sharpe Kramer shared a number of stories about Sidney when he was working with Stanley Kramer on Guess Who’s Coming to Dinner. That movie has quite a back story. Karen has the highest regard for Sidney and she released a statement of tribute regarding the gifted actor yesterday. It was very moving statement. The whole Kramer family offered their condolences and tributes. I wish I had met Sidney given all the glowing reports from people I love and deeply respect. So I was tagged by @darklings-heart, thank you dear this was certainly a surprise to wake up to!

Anyway here’s the deal folks, I’m gonna answer these questions then tag some people to answer these questions as well. Hoo boy here it goes!

1. Nicknames: Kilo, Soul, Grendel, Raoul (those last two are the names of my main fursona’s)

2. Zodiac: Aquarius

3. Height: *sobs* 5’2

4. Hogwarts house: Ravenclaw apparently

5. Last thing I googled: “Wickerbeast fursuit”

6. Do you get asks: once in a blue moon. Idk how to get more followers y’all lmao.

7. Amount of sleep: 8-7 hours on a good night. On bad nights the amount can range from 6 hours to none at all.

9. What I’m wearing: well I was wearing my pink plaid pajamas just a minute ago, but now I’m wearing my black adidas hoodie and pants.

10. Dream trip: I don’t mean to sound like a weeb or something, but I’d live to visit Japan someday! Or turkey too.

11. Instruments: I used to play the cello. I had to quite because school work became so demanding and I didn’t want to stop art.

12. Languages: English... but I’m trying my hardest to learn Swedish. Although my school made such a task extremely difficult.

13. Favorite songs: Epitaph, 21st century schizoid man, In the wake of Poseidon, the letters, starless, Elephant talk, dinosaur (all of these are from King Crimson), the trial (Pink Floyd), Another one bites the dust (Queen), Killer Queen (also Queen), Let’s dance (David Bowie), Life on Mars? (also David Bowie) and P control (Prince).

14. Random fact: I learned how to swim without any support (floaties) at the age of 3. One evening my dad accidentally fell asleep while I was swimming in my grandmothers pool, so I took off my floaties and started swimming from the shallow end to the deep end and back to the shallow end repeatadly. When my dad woke up he started freaking out I think because I was in the deep end without floaties, but then he calmed down realized that I wasn’t drowning. He got quite the lecture from my mom later, if I remember correctly.

15. Aesthetic: at the moment it’s showtime and crimes. I think it’s because of the story I’m writing.

random fact: i have auditory processing issues when multiple people are talking at once; coupled with my ingrained overpoliteness that prevents me from speaking ever when others are, this makes multi-party (and single-party) conversations very hard.

aesthetic: optimistic cyberpunk; space-race-era space travel (like the game Event[0] if anyone knows that); days off school; christmas; greens and blues; and recently vampires (my last vampire phase was in middle school but we back)
