Reign AU!! It caught my eyes and I love royalty/historical AUs

Ooh okay so the Reign AU is a fic idea I got after seeing a TikTok of historical fashion in tv. It’s a dewis fic loosely based on the tv show Reign with Daniel as Mary Queen of Scots and Lewis as Francis II of France. I loved the first few seasons of the show

Here’s a snippet of what I have so far:

Daniel had been less than a week old when his father died. He had been less than a week old when a crown had been placed atop his head and he had been proclaimed king. He had been less than a week old when his father’s enemies became his enemies and they tried to assassinate him.

Daniel had been a month old when his mother betrothed him to a neighboring kingdom’s crown prince. Daniel had been a month old when his mother had been declared regent. Daniel had been a month old when he was sent away from his home for his own safety.

At twenty, Daniel meets his betrothed for the first time in years. Crown Prince Lewis is a vague memory in the haze of his childhood. Daniel vaguely remembers running down the castle halls, giggling as Lewis ran after him.

Other characters currently are Toto as King Henry II, Max as Sebastian de Poitiers, George as Kenna, and Charles as Lola, but it could all possibly change depending on how long the fic is. So it could potentially be a dewis fic with hints of maxiel, toto/george, max/george, and lewis/charles
