okay so I did what that earlier post of mine joked about, about putting all the historical musicals into the hunger games
i broke out a simulator and did it
Our contestants: casts of 1776, Hamilton, Newsies, Assassins, and Six
ROUND ONE:
Cornucopia Rush: Hamilton killed Hercules Mulligan, Jack Kelly won a fight with John Hinckley Jr, Jane Seymour strangled Squeaky Fromme, Thomas Jefferson drowned, Lafayette killed George Washington, and The Proprietor killed Sara Jane Moore
Day 1: Catherine Parr starved, Hinckey killed Spot Collins (the newsie leader from brooklyn), Eliza killed James Madison, Jack Kelly and the Proprietor teamed up, Lee Harvey Oswald died trying to escape, Benjamin Franklin committed the sewerslide, John Adams killed Hamilton, Zangara fell into a pit and died, Aaron Burr killed Lafayette, Anne Boleyn killed Leon Czolgosz by setting him on fire with a molotov cocktail, and Crutchie killed Charles Guiteau and Catherine of Aragon
ROUND TWO: Crutchie forced Katherine Plumber to kill the Balladeer, Burr killed Peggy, Byck killed Jack Kelly, John Adams killed Katherine Howard, and Anne Boleyn and the Proprietor killed Eliza and Jane Seymour together ROUND THREE: Hinckley killed Pulitzer. Then Katherine Plumber, John Adams, Angelica, and Hinckley die from a sewerslide pact. Anna of Cleves killed Byck. Also Aaron Burr, John Wilkes Booth, and Crutchie sang songs together happily.
ROUND FOUR:
Booth strangled Anne Boleyn (im starting to get very worried he'll win), Burr killed Anna of Cleves, Crutchie sewerslides, Booth fails to escape the arena and dies (HA), and Burr kills the Proprietor
VICTOR: Aaron Burr. did not expect that.

Kelly sighed as she looked at herself in the mirror. She was not sighing at herself, she generally liked what she saw looking back at her: A relatively trim figure that had grown just ever so slightly plush after the hustle and bustle of college ended. Her breasts, while small, were shapely and still perky. Her hips were flared ever so delicately and ended in strong, muscled legs. Beanpole, and rail thin were words used to describe her in her younger years, but Kelly was indifferent to that. What she was exasperated about now was the blouse she had on. Ordered a size up on the internet, and yet somehow a size too small on arrival. 'Oh well,' She thought, 'At least it squishes my tits up nice.' The purchase was not in vain, because Kelly had a date tonight, and she hoped that too-tight clothes, and buttons that were barely hanging on whould not hurt her chances. 'Besides if the date goes right these buttons should be lying on the floor before long.' She shook the thought away. Couldn't get ahead of herself. Her date tonight was a friend of a friend. Had to be on good behavior. Kelly made her way downstairs, and greeted her roomate Jane. Jane's friend was the one she would be going on a date with tonight. "So what do I need to know before going on this date?" Kelly asked. "Oh right to the chase, are we?" Jane giggled. "You must have really liked what you saw when I introduced you two!" Kelly rolled her eyes but her blush gave away her true feelings. "I'm just fucking with you girl." Jane teased. "Look I think you guys are really going to like each other. Relax. Be yourself. Oh also, he comes from a culture that really values politeness, so remeber this: If he invites you home, hes interested. If he offers you food at home he's REALLY interested. If you get to that point, whatever you do, don't turn down food he offers you. He will think you are rude."
"Go home, eat the food. Got it." Kelly reapeated. "You got thsi girl, good luck!" Jane said goodbye to Kelly, and soon Kelly arrived at the resteraunt they had agreed upon. Kelly had never been to the place before, but was nervous to find that it was an Indian place when she pulled up. She had never been good with spicy food. 'Its for the hottie.' She thought as she put on a brave face and went inside. And there he was, already waiting for her in a booth. Tall, toned, and muscular, just as she rembered him: Derek. Derek got out of his seat and hugged her hello. Kelly couldn't help but be entralled by his scent and felt a tangible pang when he pulled away from her. "Have trouble finding the place?" He asked. Kelly smiled and said that she hadn't. The two engaged in some small talk and craked jokes, and were just feeling the stoking fingers of passion curling in around them, when the waitress interrupted, asking for their order. Kelly was so wrapped up in Derek and his eyes that she hadn't even looked at the menu. Derek must have been a regular because he gave his order right away. Flustered, and not wanting to look like a fool, Kelly quickly pointed to something on the menu. "And a Coke please." She added.
The two continued to get to know one another, when the food finally arrived. Kelly's stomach immediatly sank. the bowl that was sat before her was massive and swimming with savory noodles and two big mountains of vegetabels. "Ah a fan of spicy curry I see." Observed Derek. Fuck. "Haha yeah that's me." Mumbled Kelly. "I'm glad to hear that. I love a girl that can handle her spice." Double fuck. Now she had something to prove. Thinking quickly, Kelly said, "Said you are in finance? that must be interesting." Derek lit up at this, and began regaling her with every finance story he could think of. Good, he was distracted. Now Kelly could focus on her buffet.
Only half-listening to Derek now, she began to tuck in. To her dismay, the curry was so spicy, that she had to take a large swig of her soda every two bites or so. By the time a quarter of the curry was gone she was full. At the halfway mark she had already finished her first drink. She sat back breathlessly, using this as an excuse for a break while the waitress brought her another glass. Lucky Derek was still droning on, so Kelly had a moment to compose herself. She rested a hand on her swollen tummy and was alarmed to feel it bloated and already straining at the buttons of her blouse.
Before she had a chance to think about it more, the waitress returned with her soda. No excuses now. She continued on, but was painfully aware of each bite struggling to make room in her overpacked gut. Now she could feel every swallow travel down into her belly and push it out just that much further. She closed her eyes, and turned her brain off. mindlessly alternating between eating and drinking. Eventually, she managed it. the entire bowl and two glasses of soda were packed into her once slim gut, now bloated to about 2 inches. Though she had finished her feast, Kelly had a new problem: The combination of soda and curry were not playing well together in her distended gut. even from where she was sitting she could hear her belly groaning and churning in protest of how far she had packed it. Once again, she laid her hand on her gut to try and quell the storm in her stomach. She was a bit concerned and very fascinated by the fact that she could physically FEEL her over worked gut sloshing and rumbling under her hand. Without warning she felt a tingle between her thighs, and the very slight pressure of her hand forced a burp out of her throat. She was able to stifle it last second, but the thought of burping infrint of Derek made her instantly wet. What was wrong with her? She must have been in some sort of food psychosis. This thought seemed to be evhoed by the fact that Derek was saying her name, as if he had been trying to get her attention for sometime. "Kelly, you ok?" He looked slightly concerned. "I'm, uh, *urp* I'm ok. I think I just need to get out of here." She responded weakly. "How does my place sound?" Derek asked. Kelly could only nod, amazed that she had been able to pull it off. As they stood to leave the resteraunt, Kelly was mortified to fond that she could not stand up straight. if she did, her belly would poke out of the bottom of her blouse and threatned to snap the buttons against the strain. She could stand, but barely, and needed one hand to cradle her ailing tummy. In the end though, it was worth it, she had gotten a ticket to Derek's place. Now what was that other thing her roomate reminded her to do?

Requests are open!
I was asked if I take requests and if so; what fandoms/ships/characters I’m willing to write for and I figured it would be a good idea to post a list for everyone.
First off, I’m not completely comfortable writing smut, maybe one day in the future once I’ve gotten a bit more used to it. Second, I don’t do non-con or dub-con, that’s a hard line for me.
Fandoms:
•X-Files
•Buffy
•Harry Potter
•Doctor Who
•Bones
•Rizzoli and Isles
•Supergirl
•Peaky Blinders
•The Devil Wears Prada

- I may add more eventually but for now these are the fandoms.
Ships:

• Spike and Buffy
• Willow and Tara
• Rizzles (Jane and Maura)
• Supercat (Kara and Cat)

• Ginny and Luna (idk their ship name)

2024: The Year in Green's Party
This has been another spectacular year for my pop culture blog. In Jan. 2013 I began this blog as a way to share my thoughts on pop culture and since then I’ve gotten to do things I never even imagined would be possible: interviewing filmmakers, actors, musicians, authors and more; reviewing movies, music, concerts, books, and theater; covering conventions and film festivals; and connecting with fans who also have their hands on the pulse of pop culture at the moment and its history.
the many faces of Green’s Party
Here are just a few of this website's highlights of 2024:
Retweets and Social Media: David Space liked my tweet about Fly on the Wall being my #1 Podcast of 2023; I was a guest on the It's Another Sunday podcast and discussed this blog, In May during the same week as my birthday I tweeted birthday wishes to Radiohead drummer Philip Selway and he liked it, Trouser Press Books shared my interview with Backstage and Beyond author Jim Sullivan on their social media, the band Scream shared my Best Albums of 2023 list (which included their album DC Special) in their Linktree, and I was a guest on the Seeing Them Live podcast and I returned for a special episode about the infamous Jane's Addiction concert I covered.
Peter Holmström and me
Interviews: I got to interview The Dandy Warhols guitarist Peter Holmström backstage before their Boston show, documentarian Alexandre O. Philippe via zoom, musician Matthew Sweet via phone, comedian Fred Armisen via zoom, music journalist Jim Sullivan via phone, and Pamela Des Barres via phone. I also got to speak with a number of celebs briefly at conventions including Kelli Maroney, Bruce Kulick, Nicholas Hammond, Sid Krofft, Sean Gunn, Ethan Supplee, Gina Schock and more!

Blu-ray Reviews: I got to review the blu-ray release of Witness, Electric Lady Studios: A Jimi Hendrix Vision, Robert Rodriguez's The Mexico Trilogy, A Simple Plan, and Behind the Bucket: A Garrison story.
Book Reviews: I got to cover Guzman's Family Values: Kurt, Courtney and Frances Bean.
Comedy Reviews: I got to cover Fred Armisen's show a few weeks after I interviewed him.
me on the red carpet outside The Brattle for 2024 BUFF
me on the red carpet at 2024 IFFBoston
me at the 2024 Fan Expo Boston
me at 2024 Super MegaFest
Film Festivals, Conventions and Events: I did my annual coverage of the Oscar Nominated Short Films, I covered the March edition and the November edition of the Northeast Comic Con, I covered the 2024 Boston Underground Film Festival, the Coolidge Corner Theatre's Expansion, I covered the 2024 Independent Film Festival Boston, I covered the 2024 Fan Expo Boston, the 2024 Super MegaFest, Summer 2024 Collectibles Extravaganza, and the 2024 IFFBoston Fall Focus mini-fest.
Stray Observations:
It was a very Beatle-centric year for me! I got to cover The Beatles box set 1964 U.S. Albums in Mono and their documentary Beatles '64 as well as getting to do album reviews of Paul McCartney and Wings' Band on the Run reissue and One Hand Clapping live album, Ringo Starr's Crooked Boy EP, John Lennon's reissue of Mind Games, George Harrison's reissue of Living in the Material World, the documentary film Revival69: The Concert That Rocked the World about Lennon's legendary 1969 concert in Toronto and a concert review of Ringo Starr and His All-Starr Band in September. Even for a Beatle Fanatic like me that's quite a year!
In October, one of my favorite musicians Matthew Sweet suffered a stroke and I, like many, donated to the GoFundMe to assist with his road to recovery. Only a few months earlier in April I got to interview Mr. Sweet (my second time talking to him) and I also got to cover his concert in Boston. I am grateful I got to talk to him about his music (he could not have been any cooler) and see him for my 6th time and it was one of his best shows. I wish him well in his recovery and hope one day he's able to make music again (whether it's touring, recording or privately).
I got to interview The Dandy Warholds guitarist Peter Holmström. He is the third band member I got to interview since 2019.
I've noticed a trend that's been happening with reissue albums where they are celebrating the landmark anniversary of an album with a box set...released a year after the landmark release. For example, John Lennon's 50th anniversary of Mind Games was released 51 years later, The Police's 40th anniversary of Synchronicity was released 41 years later, George Harrison's 50th anniversary of Living in the Material World was 51 years later. But hey, who's counting right?
In recent years there's been a number of sequels to movies that were released 20 or more years ago. In 2024 that trend continued with Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F, Twisters, Gladiator II, and Beetlejuice Beetlejuice (the best of them all by far).

8/3/24: I wrote about Aerosmith retiring from touring.
8/10/24: I interviewed Fred Armisen via zoom ahead of his comedy tour. One of the highlights of this year and this entire blog: "During our interview, Mr. Armisen took notice of my CD collection in the background behind me and asked about my collection and he briefly talked about his love of physical media. As our interview was ending, I thanked him and joked that next time he should check out my CD collection. He said “I’m glad you have it on your screen. Because there’s a lot happening in politics and none of the candidates are talking about how we should be proud of our CD collections. We need to come to a time in our lives where we’re displaying them. We all have CDs somewhere.” I laughed and said “I think they need to court the CD vote”. He laughed and I said “Wow - I just made you laugh, I’m so proud of myself” and he replied “That was a real laugh too by the way”. I’ve had some cool celebrity encounters, but knowing I got to make Fred Armisen laugh is definitely pretty high on my list of coolest celebrity encounters ever!"
8/25/24: I was a guest on the Seeing Them Live podcast.
9/15/24: Part 3 of Nirvana Boston posted.
9/30/24: I returned to the Seeing Them Live podcast to discuss the Jane's Addiction concert I covered.

12/10/24: Part 5, the final edition, of Nirvana Boston posted.
12/13/24: I posted my album review of George Harrison's Living in the Material World 50th Anniversary Edition. 12 notes.

Thirty years after serving together in the Vietnam War, Larry, Sal and Richard, reunite for a different type of mission: to bury Doc’s son, a young Marine killed in Iraq. Forgoing the burial, the trio take the casket on a bittersweet trip up the coast to New Hampshire – along the way, reminiscing and coming to terms with the shared memories of a war that continues to shape their lives. Great writing and acting. Fishburne, Carell, and Cranston make up an unlikely trio that embarks on an epic journey of forgiveness. At once critical and respectful of the US, a reminder that what makes a country is those that choose to live and die for it.

Hot Vintage TV Women's Bracket - List of the Ladies!
As promised below is a full list of all 130 women in the Hot Vintage TV Women's Tournament! Thank you to everyone who submitted their favs!
Just a brief bit of cleanup before the list. Thank you for all the submissions. If your submission didn't make it into the bracket or some of your propaganda isn't used know that I still appreciated the submission even if we weren't able to use it. Some things got cut for being outside the bounds of the tournament, some things got cut because the links were broken, etc. Anything I wasn't sure about got brought to family and friends for a second opinion. I did my best to keep as much in as possible but some things just ended up leaning too far outside of our criteria. If you notice some stuff that seems outside the criteria slip by it's because I tried to be very generous so as long as something wasn't obviously outside of our time period or rules I usually gave it a pass.
Anyway, I am working on the bracket as we speak and apologize in advance cause I don't think there's any way to make round 1 completely painless, as you'll see we have a pretty stacked line-up so I'm excited to see how things work out! Enjoy and see you all on Monday April 15th for round one of the Hot Vintage TV Women's Bracket!
