Summary: Robin and Steve have moved to New York together to live as roommates while Robin saves up enough to start school the following year. But... Robin doesn't know what she wants to do. Robin struggles to find her place in the world, like every 18/19-year-old, but the more she looks around, the more goodness she sees in everything. It's rough to be displaced and yearning for love, but she has so much love around her that she slowly starts to recognize and put her faith into it. This 5 chapter miniseries showcases a different kind of love in each chapter, and how it eventually bolsters Robin to go for something she really wants. Lots of Platonic Stobin, with background Steddie stuff.

I’m on a shoestring budget but I did not pass up the opportunity to buy an official Keith Harring lunch box at my local Target. The most beautiful part was that this is labeled a kids lunchbox. I see the attempt at making up for that Pride collection debacle here.

god. this is so tough. im not surprised at all that these are up against each other at the end.
as a feat of human creativity, mourning, and resistance, the AIDS memorial quilt is grander and more impressive. it humanized mass death. understanding the quantity of the dead is psychologically difficult for us, which is why projects like these are so important.
but. keith haring holds a very special place in my heart. i grew up with his artwork all around me, knowing it only as the nice people and creatures dancing together. as an adult, i keep finding more and more relevance to my own art practice, experience, and philosophy in his work. and just—I dont know if he painted like this work implies: complete section by section. its possible but I doubt it. he made it very stark. the potential for a full work, for more life, more connectivity, is there—but he will die. many of the community died. the rest is up to those who come after. to understand, to continue, to leave space. it just fucks me up.

"NAMES Project AIDS Memorial Quilt" (1985-present) / "Unfinished Painting" (1989 - Keith Haring)
NAMES PROJECT AIDS MEMORIAL QUILT: fucks me up bc so many people died and so many people suffered and their partners didn’t have legal rights as next of kin and so many had been disowned by their parents and had to be held by a stranger while they were dying and if i could resurrect anyone in the world i’d dig up either reagan or thatcher and kill them again (jaskierx) The sheer size and it's meaning make me cry every time. (artemistakenidentity)
UNFINISHED PAINTING: A self-portrait left intentionally "incomplete". I'm roughly the same age as Haring was when AIDS ended his life and I can only begin to imagine how it must feel to know that your life has been cut short a third of the way through. I get such a lump in my throat each time I look at this. (louisianna)
(The "NAMES Project AIDS Memorial Quilt" is an ongoing community art project honoring people who passed away due to AIDS-related causes. It consists of approximately 50,000 panels of 3 by 6 feet (0.91 m × 1.83 m) panels, which is an estimated 54 tons of material. It is currently housed in San Francisco, but is often displayed in various places in the United States.
"Unfinished Painting" is an acrylic on canvas painting by Keith Haring. It measures 39 x 39 in (99 x 99 cm) and some information on it can be found on the National Portrait Gallery's website. It is currently on display at The Broad in Los Angeles. This was Haring’s last painting and it was intentionally left incomplete.)
