#keeping my expectations in check

I haven't actually written any sort of story before, but I'm strongly considering starting to dip my toes into creating fanfiction. My current idea is, for some reason, a character introspection on Pinako Rockbell.

Don't know why I was inspired to write about a relatively minor character, and not the characters or pairing I'm actually obsessed with, but it is what it is.

(Ed x Winry will be mentioned though, as this story is after they marry, but it's about Pinako not them. But if this goes well I do want to try writing EdWin eventually, and really hoping to make something for 503 week next year too).

everyone makes fun of soap when they find out how many hair and skin products he keeps on hand. the cabinet in his bathroom is filled to bursting and he always keeps travel sized bottles on him on missions

when soldiers outside the 141 find out, they call him precious and self-obsessed, a vain pretty boy too preoccupied with his reflection to focus on the enemy. no wonder how he got his callsign. price has given up telling him to leave them on base and just teaches him to individually wrap them so they don’t rattle against each other and give himself away

what they don’t know is that each product contains an ingredient that when mixed with any number of the others, creates potent chemical bombs. he was caught unarmed once, he won’t let it happen again

When penelope was sassily like oh I'll marry you if you make a living bed out of this tree right here! Cue penelope stumbling over odysseus very very carefully digging up the tree "because how else is he going to get it to itacha we can't have a wedding bed out in the open in sparta duh"

2. Penelope, knowing that Helen's suitors would soon be arriving to take over her home for a while. Snuck out and went on her own wacky shenanigan filled journey where she scoped out all the major players. Odysseus caught her spying in an olive tree. And when she got back she told Helen she had dibs on the cutie from itacha.

IDOL DAILY - New Issue!

After the photoshoot, Jax invited Zooble over to his place. Wind down after all the trouble.

Normally, they would’ve just said no and moved on with their day, but, this time around… why not?

Maybe they’d get some answers. Some stuff didn’t add up.

Zooble looked out the window with contempt.

They glanced down at the crowd of faceless fans screaming their and Jax’s names, singing praises and begging for more.

Those poor fools.

They would never have enough.

They were all just NPCs anyway. It hardly mattered.

But their staring and their screams were still unnerving and grating to Zooble’s being.

They simply closed the curtains, then turned around, and were met by the oversized lagomorph laying down on a fancy couch, drinking wine.

Being at the top of the leaderboard had its perks.

Had the whole place all to himself…

What an ego freak.

“See?” He threw his head back. “I told you the fans would go crazy over this collab.” He took a sip out of his wine and then spread his arms wide. “They’re eating it up!”

Zooble sighed and rolled their eyes. 

“As if that’s even a surprise. They’ll eat anything up.” They sat down on a different couch, keeping their eyes on the rabbit. “If you had collaborated with anyone else it wouldn’t make a difference. You’d get the same result.”

Jax went quiet as he closed his eyes, then sipping his wine again.

“Hmm… maybe you’re right.”

He snapped his fingers and pointed at Zooble.

“But aren’t you glad I picked you out of everyone else?”

Was he expecting them to be thankful?

It wasn’t like they asked for it.

It came out of nowhere.

They squinted silently.

“…Why? You know I don’t even care about the numbers. Or being popular for that matter.”

He spun his drink in his hand, reflecting on his actions for a moment.

It was almost like he wasn’t expecting them to ask.

“I dunno…”

He glanced at Zooble, giving a light shrug.

“Maybe I just felt like being nice?”

The room fell silent for a while.

“…Felt like being nice.”

Zooble repeated his words back to him.

It even felt wrong to say it out loud. They immediately dismissed it.

“Yeah, right.”

Jax simply chuckled.

“What? You don’t believe me?”

They shook their head.

“I have no reason to.”

Jax pretended to be offended, gasping and clutching at his chest. What a drama queen.

“Wow, Zooble. I’m hurt.”

They rolled their eyes once more.

“Psh.”

They got up from their seat, walking over to the bar to pour a glass of wine of their own. “…Whatever.”

i am sadly one of those people who are super insicure of themselves after any social interaction, I go over and over again in my head and feel irrationally bad bc my brain tells me I was awkward, and probably came off as weird and so on. But you know what brain? I had the social interaction. I did it. I spoke out loud to people and had a conversation instead of freezing and feeling unable to talk. So fuck it if I came off as weird and awkward, I am weird and awkward and it's okay, because I did something that just a few years ago would have been even more of a struggle, and even earlier than that it would have been close to impossible.

I love how we still have THIS mystery going on and we got 1 month til the game release's.

LIKE WE STILL DON'T KNOW WHO THIS IS GONNA BE, AND NO TRAILER HAS MENTIONED IT ONCE.

it can't be a skin or just another segment/description on a character ethier cause on sonic's page it's just sonic and classic sonic, NOT TAILS/CLASSIC TAILS OR ANY OTHER CHARACTER/NPC FROM GENERATIONS.

I actually think it’s a high possibility IF they ARE Mag 200 Jon/Martin, that they’ll be antagonist’s, to some extent.

I said it somewhere before but the entities going into other universe’s will be their fault. Wether they like it or not they’ll be seen as bad guys. Protocol takes place a good few years after Mag 200, Jon and Martin would be different people by now.

What if they realise what they’ve done was a mistake, would Jon try to purposefully cause the apocalypse again, to bring it to its end? Kill the entities for good. Would they try to find another way? Jon is litarly TIED to the entities, that must effect him in some way.

Either way Alice and Sam would not have the full context to their stories (as far as we know) so they’d be antagonists in their eyes.

It would definitely be fun. Having them be scheming in the background, maybe they’ll be mentioned here and there, and we won’t fully know their intentions and what they’re up to. But also, the idea of two villains who are just up to no good but also they absolutely adore and love each other?? That would be so fun to watch.

Maybe we’ll actually get some Martin lonely avatar action where he actually terrorises people. Jon as ‘the archivist’ not holding anything back. And we just hear people report on these weird beings that follow and haunt them. It would be so intresting to have them be in the same spot as allot of tma antagonists. Be the subject of statements and all that.

(I’ve litarly been trying to make a villian playlist for it but been struggling to find good songs lol)

Need to pack for college but all I can think about is how much of a possibility villain Martin and Jon will be in Protocol.

Jonny and Alex would have so much fun with that. And it scares me in the best way possible.

Seeing the m&g picture of Dan and Phil with the Bert and Ernie dolls is making me so happy like… they ARE Bert and Ernie. Honestly half the discourse on this site about a “hard launch” you could just… substitute in Bert and Ernie and it makes sense.

Like nobody’s questioning the muppet couple who’ve lived together half their lives and have separate beds and call each other best friend and never explicitly said they were together.

They’re iconic for being Bert and Ernie, it doesn’t matter what a grumpy show writer decides to call them.
