Hear me o Lady Hekate, Queen at the Gate, mistress of earth, sea, and sky, both chthonic and empyrean, hundred-handed guide of the six ways, of the four roads, of the three paths.
Be gracious to me, patient and astute Hekate. Teach me, bestower and revealer, good-tempered and noble-born holy fire. O tender-hearted Hekate, bearer of love, bless me and mine. Heal and soothe me, all-tamer, saffron-cloaked protector, light of the night, lovely daughter of morning, delicate and fairest, brilliant-braided blessed one.
Guide me across the thresholds and through the wilderness, at the crossroads and down the ways, o watcher of the havens, night-shining Hekate, only daughter of the starry one, keeper of the keys of the cosmos, maiden-mother. You are the wide-shining one, bringer of light to mortals, radiant and celestial, who keeps watch and ward, who suffers much, many-named Hekate who gladdens the hearts of men.
Unconquered, untamable goddess, indomitable, reckless leader of hosts. Subdue my enemy, o you who smite with light, ruin-bringer of fiery counsel, girt with flaming serpents, fire-walker, flame-breather, invincible queen of the dead, door-breaker, earth-cleaver, she who throws down the gates. Beware her wrath, for Hekate is standing like a porter at your door hinge, the one before the gate. Stand between me and all fear, o lioness, o she-wolf, o grim bender of proud necks who stands upon the watchtower.
Ineffable star-walker crowned with splendor, torchbearer, horse-speaker and dog-leader, who rises and sets by night, wanderer in the mountains, lover of solitude, holy light who keeps watch and ward, fleet-footed, far-famed, many-formed Kyria, intercede for us with the celestial one and guide us across all thresholds.

We are the last remnants, embodiments of ancient civilizations, creatures who represent all the achievements of our perspective solar systems, a trillion years of survival and development preparing to be consumed by this collapsing universe.
My celestial sister Aviandra full fledged feathered friend who faced fierce space wells as she propelled herself towards the onrushing oblivion, glorious as can be, plumaged colored by energies never seen as gravity forces pulled and shifted distorting light waves and eventually spaghettified my friend.
Next was Kmnet, infernal formed from lava storms of a violent planet, populated by extremophile people who could move through any environment no matter how intense, so certainly he would be able to breakthrough the nothing.
He resisted survived a little longer, made it a little further, pass the black mass that had swallowed our birdlike companion. It seemed that he could triumph, but gravity tore at his flaming face tentacles. Still, he did not cry out as his skin was scorched by the cold fury of space energy and flaked away as he disintegrated.
I alone remained, a body of energy that saves the memory of every society, a watcher of sorts. I have never known any kind of fear because matter cannot be created or destroyed and my particles will always remain, even if this realm no longer exists, but will these stories persist? I feel the pressure of all things collapsing. If I could cry I think I would. I never thought I would die, didn’t think I even could. I don’t want to go. No one will ever know the art of wind, how clouds can be made to bend telling tragic stories in soft weaving bodies of the strange music composed by the Stryx,
nor the feats of strength and struggles against reality’s cruel rule, how the elementals battled season after season in a cycle they thought was eternal,
or my people, masters of logic, pursuers of the ecstasy of discovery, reason, and growth, learning merely for the pleasure of striving to be better, tinkerers, deep thinkers, pattern seekers, that became knowledge keepers.
I use my being to push back the unseen nothing and for a brief moment I think I might win, but tendrils of darkness push back again and again like times terrible tidal forces, and I realize I will soon succumb.

Obey Me!: Human and Demon Hearts!
A/N: Remember to check my pinned post if you missed the other chapters! Another note; I had WAY too much fun writing the beginning of this! Hopefully it makes sense~
Chapter Three: Bonding's Mended (3/3)
Word Count: 1683
Rating: 18+
'Demon Feeding: A Start to the endless hunger of a demon's belly.
The cause of our behaviors dives deep into our past, when our kind and the celestial realm had known nothing but primal instincts. Humanity had not yet existed, and the earth realm was our battlegrounds. Flesh was torn by both Devil, Beast, and angel. Only our great Mages, now pacified by ash, can whisper to the book keepers of our carnal days. Yet while the Angelic build their realm, we still hunger, and wish to devour. Our hatred is barely ever quenched. Humans had been involved through their own ways. Growing and evolving long after our realms had taken refuge away from earth. But our history was rediscovered, and the three realms were connected.
Demon's had soon developed a taste for human souls. An almost sweet and pungent ecstasy only found in the spirit's layers. Yet the Angels seem to desire the human's souls for more pure and selfless purposes. So they say. We as a selfish kin must find ways around this. And we have. Humans are so very frail, but one cannot take from a living soul without their unwavering trust or agreement. But that's only for the whole meal. Ah yes- Just a small taste, barely a lick can satisfy. It was the Incubi, and the Succubi who have found the most pleasure in a Demon Feeding ritual. For many, a human's sensual pleasures are tied to their trust, and emotions. The Cubi have found their abilities to please have come in handy. They can easily sample the human soul, feeding of the human's energies, all while... entertaining themselves. The rest of us have begun to see the strings that connect Demons to humans as well. Even the Little Devils have their own ways. Most of us don't need a physical contract, or to eat away at their little dream worlds. No, just the sheer aura of a human's daily stress and anger are so divine, so tempting. No wonder the human world has grown fearful of us. They now know we can touch something they used to think they fully owned.'
A chill ran through Noelle's body. Not wanting to read more as she understood the narrator's point. The second sticky note was unlabeled, but since there were two options, this was probably the most plausible.
'Underdeveloped Magic and it's consequences.
Blood, bones and sacrifices were never needed to summon us to the human realm. Though the show and the fallen harvest are much appreciated. Though we now have an issue. Malaia has expressed a growing development in the human genes. Magic. It seems that now the human realm has entered into existence, they have developed their own magic. Most have realized what they're capable of, and are learning to manipulate it. They found ways to protect their realm from our hunger and manipulations. It's knowledge that is beginning to gnaw at my mind. Chewing it thoroughly. Yet it's not the well trained ones of magic that are the problem. It is the untrained ones we must look out for. Some of them have these hideous side effects they accidentally cause. Hell's fire wasn't enough to melt the flesh of a demon, but those flame's are so old. The new ones created by human magic are so fresh it can and will burn us to the bone, and perhaps past that if one is not careful. The other effects are as follows, but are just general nature.
Wart Tongue
Seared eyesight
confusion/forgetfulness
solidifying blood
barriers-'
The rest of the chapter went unread past Barriers. Noelle had gone through the index of the book and quickly read up on the different types of barriers until she came across one that explained her situation. It was a sort of magnetic barrier that if unchecked by a human with trained magic abilities, can cause harm to both demon and human.
The rest of the afternoon she spent her time locked in the library reading about magic, and trying to find a way to break her unintentional curse. According to her research the longer a demon is close to her, the more they will think unkindly of her, and will either tear her apart while their own body suffers the same, or manipulate her into handing over her soul. She also learned as to why this didn't seem to affect the brothers the same way. The types of demons are defined by their sins, with the Demon king and his associates being the exception. Thus different sins respond to her 'barrier' in different ways. Lust, and Greed are highly tuned to sense the danger of magic. Sloth, and Pride are most susceptible to giving into their instinct, and Wrath is unaffected due to their own constant rage with themselves. And Gluttony varied Demon to Demon. However, what concerned her was those who were spawned by Envy. Though it wasn't a reason that caused the disruption between Noelle and Levi, it was still concerning. In fact if Levi hadn't chosen to distance himself they'd both be very much dead.
Noelle had sighed heavily and texted Satan about the subject. And a quick reply came back. Satan seemed giddy and impressed with her progress on the matter. He then sent messages an hour later during his break about ways they can break the spell. But first she needed to test the strength of her barrier. He suggested that the only way they could do that was to snag Asmo, for when it came to surpassing a human's free will, he was a professional of sorts. Noelle swallowed hard at the suggestion, but once Satan had calmed her down over the phone, she agreed to meet him at Asmodeus' room.
The vibrant pinks and flowers decorating Asmodeus’ bedroom made her head spin. Yet it all looked inviting. There was even a cocoon chair that hung from the ceiling. Satan, Asmo and Mammon, for some ungodly reason, were already sitting on the fancy colorful rug. Asmo jumped up and ran to hug her out of habit with literally everyone else, but stopped short and gave a shudder along with a quick complaint.
“Owaahh~ You were right Satan, it's so hard being next to her! Which is really, REALLY inconvenient.”
Noelle blushed hard as Asmo withered in what she assumed was his growing lust over his forced restraint. That did not stop her from letting a remark slip from her lips.
“Oh hush- I thought you'd be into restraints.”
Asmo gasped while Satan and Mammon tried to cover up their laughter. After about 15 minutes passed, allowing Asmo and Mammon to get over their urges to run off, they sat Noelle right in front of Asmo on his bed. The barrier shielding Noelle had to be only so thick, and Asmo had the ability to get through shields and barriers with his lustrous charm. This was making Noelle exceedingly nervous that he'd take advantage of her in some way, but that's why Mammon and Satan were there. Mammon himself had actually been talked into taking Noelle's hand and ready to run out the door with her if anything went wrong, or if Asmo tried anything. Satan was there to make sure the other two didn't do anything too stupid.
Asmodeus was becoming giddy in getting to melt away at her guard, and possibly her heart as he says, and began reciting his usual spell while looking into her eyes.
“The eye's of a young, and beautiful mortal woman. They are so deep and golden. Even under those dark brown feathery irises...”
Mammon's snorting almost broke concentration of the two's moment, but was quickly corrected by a swift smack to the back of the head, as Asmo huffed and continued.
“Tell me Noelle~ Let me look into those pretty little eyes. Please, learn to place your trust in me. Tell me your desires.”
The soft whispers of Asmo's request had flooded her senses with a heated calm. No one else but Asmo could see the hidden and still seas of her mind as it became blank. All but a few trails of thought were left behind. He could sense her clarity, and saw her unrivaled trust in him. It was warm, and soft. Like a small candle by bedside. Asmo smiled softly, and brushed some hair behind her ear, and a soft sigh escaped her lips. Her eyes fluttered closed but she could still hear him, even then, deep in her mind as it went fully numb and the focus of her desires came to light.
“Tell me your desires”
The words vibrated behind her eyes and a single soft word came from her lips.
“Leviathan.”
“...”
“...”
“... uh-”
All too quickly Noelle had jumped in her skin as she regained her senses, and a deep violet red painted her face. When she did come back around and her vision stopped spinning from the sudden jolt, she saw the three brothers in hysterics, laughing on the floor and bed. Satan had put his hand on the wall beside him to balance himself, and covered his face. He was doing all he could to restrain his laughter. Mammon and Asmodeus had zero shame as they bellowed out, both of them grabbed at their guts, and caused Noelle's embarrassment to burn on her ears.
“Sh-SHUT UP! IT'S NOT FUNNY! WHAT DID I SAY!”
Satan was the first to calm down, clearing his throat more than once, trying to speak clearly.
“Did you not hear yourself? A-Asmo- What did you do! Tchh-”
Asmo shook his head, and had to cling onto Noelle to stay balanced on the bed.
“F-for a second I thought you said your deepest desire was- pffft Levi!”
Noelle silently stood up, covering her face and left the room while Satan yelled after her about knowing how to break the spell. But that was going to wait until she was able to recover from her current, flustered state.

Someone left me a comment on a chapter of Exordium (!!!!), and revisiting it was a lot of fun, so I’m sharing some of it.
From here.
~
Zero gravity firefights on the Citadel were not something Garrus had even really fantasized about when working for C-Sec. Yet it was now something he could officially check off his list.
Though, ‘on’ the Citadel was now a mere technicality.
The disorienting part was not so much the distorted sense of space, the abrupt rearrangement of his internal gyroscope, but the soundless recoil of his rifle. The silent sparks erupting from a geth carapace when a slug punched through its shields and scored a critical hit. The open-mouthed roar of a charging krogan that fell upon deaf ears. Visual stimuli painted the inverted battlefield with enough visceral noise to give him a headache, but the muted calm between his ears took some getting used to. Like every turian the military had been part of his life since he turned sixteen, but small arms combat had comprised a rather small part of their all their zero G drills.
The topography of the tower’s outer hide helped a little. Rather than traveling a smooth, unbroken radius all the way to the top, they found themselves confronted by a complicated maze of control junctions, hydraulics, reams of exposed cabling and even keeper access maintenance corridors.
Garrus flashed a somewhat guilty look back at one of the squat green insectoids still tumbling out into the celestial waters behind them.
Up ahead of them, a geth dreadnaught trapped inside the station’s arms prepared to offload troops. Just to make things more fun.
Shepard honed in on a few automated defense turrets that Tali had identified along the Tower’s spine, leading them away from the elevator shaft and deeper into the maze, where they at least had some usable cover. Garrus vaguely remembered some lecture from his C-Sec training about those turrets, but he couldn’t recall a single instance in which they’d ever even been fired. And according to Tali they weren’t firing now. Someone had deactivated them.
Well, not for long. That drop ship wasn’t going anywhere unless they did something about it.
Another round of bullets refracted off his shields, its silent arrival taking nothing away from the teeth-rattling force of impact. Garrus absorbed it with a grunt, praying it wasn’t too much for the emitters to bleed off, and fired off another round of his rifle. Avoiding enemy fire was a lot harder when one wrong step would send you spinning off into space. As the keeper could attest.
At least they were better at keeping their feet on the ground than krogan, who apparently hadn’t all been nuked on Virmire. The only one happy about that development was Wrex, who ignored every single geth trying to shoot a rocket at him in favor of the tank-bred bulldozers racing along the Tower’s exterior.
Turns out that when indoctrinated krogan try to charge a Battlemaster in zero G, the Battlemaster wins. Every time.
The latest one sailed past Garrus’ head, one giant hand flailing in an effort to grab onto the part of Garrus’ helmet that covered his crest. ‘Cresting’ was a traditional krogan method of brutality, an instinct apparently so ingrained by their creator that these half-witted clones didn’t even care there was a helmet in the way. Or that they were currently floating off structure with no hope of recovery.
“Liara!” Alenko called out. “Trooper on your left!”
“I see it,” she called back, and the game the lieutenant and doctor had started playing – levitate the geth high enough for Alenko to kick it out into space – continued. They were getting really good at it.
The terrain around the defense towers consisted of raised bulkheads and sunken trenches to allow safer passage to and from. Shepard laid down cover fire on the latest round of geth while Tali and Alenko ascended the closest one, searching for a control box. The geth drop ship continued to unload some artillery of its own, which only complicated things further.
But that wasn’t what had Garrus’ attention.
The moment they had reached the defense towers, a strange silhouette crested the horizon. Its thick, massive synthetic limbs occasionally rose and fell, their impact against the structure strong enough that Garrus could feel it under his feet even if he couldn’t hear it.
It wasn’t just here. It had anchored itself to the tower itself – its giant maw clamped down on the tower’s peak while the legs maneuvered for purchase.
Spirits. It was huge.
A rocket from one of the destroyers detonated on the other side of the bulkhead Garrus and Shepard now crouched behind. Wrex bellowed – that sound at least traveled over the comm – and charged after it, wrangling the rocket launcher off its back and then firing it point blank into the geth’s chest, which erupted in a hailstorm of silent shrapnel.
“Tali, how’re those turrets coming?” Shepard barked.
“It’s a little hard to concentrate when you’re being fired on by a dropship!”
“We could try launching the angry krogan at it,” Garrus suggested.
“Don’t tempt me.” Shepard rose out of cover to fire his assault rifle. The muzzle blazed with light, the accompanying blare of sound lost out in the vacuum.
Garrus fired his sniper rifle at a destroyer, a maddening lick off the mark. Apparently he relied on the sound of its familiar crack more than he thought to find his rhythm. Here he had to adapt and find it solely through the weapon’s kick. Same beat, different lyrics.
As he reloaded the rifle the destroyer locked its aim on Tali. Garrus’ heart dropped to his feet. He swung the barrel of the gun to keep up, damn those things were fast when they charged, targeting software straining to find a new lock. “Tali, on your three!”
Shepard launched out of cover, rifle firing, pausing only long enough to lob a grenade. It detonated in a shower of sparks. The destroyer turned just as Garrus fired, shot once again glancing off its shields emitters.
“Shepard!”
The destroyer charged, barreling right into Shepard with bone shattering force. The commander spun, his grunt of pain sharp even over the comm, boots losing their grip on the tower.
Garrus fired, this time hitting his mark, slug finding its home right in the orb of the AI’s glowing face. He didn’t take time to gloat, leaping off his perch and flinging a hand out to grab Shepard’s boot.
“Fuck,” Shepard said. The moment his left foot touched down he grimaced and hopped, hissing through his teeth. “That was close.”
“You all right?”
Shepard glanced down at his hardsuit, eyes flicking back and forth as data scrolled across his HUD.
“Fine,” he said after a moment, tone clipped. He tested his weight again, one hand braced against his left hip, and grimaced. Behind them Wrex bellowed and barreled into two troopers trying to flank.
“Shepard?”
“It’s fine.” He swiveled his gaze back toward the turrets. “Got to get those things online and get rid of this dreadnaught.”
As if the turrets listened, they began powering on. Out of the corner of his eyes a bright orange flash accompanied the sudden shudder that swept under his feet. The shields of the dreadnaught glowed bright under the unexpected salvo.
One by one the other turrets came online, four in all, each one painting the geth ship’s hull. Alenko shouted something victorious over the comm. Minutes later Tali dropped in beside Garrus, shotgun back in hand.
“Nice work,” Shepard told her.
The geth ship shuddered, thrusters flashing as it tried to back away from the unexpected threat, then a blaze of light seared Garrus’ retinas as the drive core exploded, raining molten shrapnel down on their heads. Liara threw out her hands, dark energy uncoiling with an electric shimmer, creating a shield around them that deflected the debris. Garrus winced as one flaming piece of metal headed straight for his crest bounced harmlessly off the churning barrier.
“You’re a goddess, Liara,” he called out.
Shepard pushed to his feet and moved out the moment it was clear. His gait stuttered at first, but quickly became fluid and sure. “We need to find a hatch that’ll get us back into the shaft.”
“Preferably in a location that doesn’t involve playing talon touch with the giant reaper,” Garrus replied.
Wrex’s armored head appeared from behind a bulkhead a little farther up, covered in the silken slime of geth conductive fluid. Garrus expected an insult but instead the krogan roared, thundering towards him. Too late Garrus felt a violent strike against his back, followed by the sickening sensation of his feet losing their grip on the ground.
Oh no.
A hand snagged his leg spar, yanking him back down. His boots clamped back down on the deck with a thud. He gasped, then found himself face to face with Wrex’s helmet.
“You missed one,” the krogan growled, gesturing to a downed destroyer now sparking at Wrex’s feet.
“Thanks,” Garrus managed.
“Shepard!” Alenko hollered. “I think I have a way in!”
The commander paused just long enough to catch Garrus’ eye through his faceplate, nodding in satisfaction. “Stick around, Garrus. Things are about to get interesting.”
Garrus risked one last glance up into the incandescent light of the Ward arms, resolutely blocking out the cold curtain of space that lurked outside. A breathtaking view he never wanted to see again.
Yeah. Things were about to get interesting.

My Brother's Keeper
Things have been going well for the Family at Spider Miles. I continue to make plans to invade underground trades deeper within the Grand Line, the money is pouring in, and I have learned that Dressrosa has become ripe for the Donquixote lineage to return where we belong. I smile whenever I think of this land, as it is mine by right of my birth.
Those fools at Mariejois thought to take my royalty from me when they cast me from heaven, but my family ruled that land long before the Celestial Dragons became what they are now. Taking back this nation will be the first piece in shoving my bloodline down their fat, self-righteous throats! Finally, I shall be acknowledged as the king that I was born to be and can stop living in this trash heap. I can begin to provide more for my family and to give them all they deserve!
A part of me thinks that everything is lies, but I ignore these troubling thoughts. My family loves me and have been here for me since I was ten years old. My brother has come back to me and stands at my right hand. How can it be anything other than perfect?
It is what I have always dreamed of. And now with Law here, my little family somehow feels complete. Not that I would love the other children less. That is why I gave them devil fruits to make them stronger, just as Trebol did for me. It’s what you do for those you care for. You give them ways to protect themselves and those they love, as well as the power to take revenge on those who hurt them. To make them invincible to the world!
There’s a small feeling of uneasiness in the back of my mind as I think of Trebol. The voices like to mock me, saying that he is using me. However, I know he loves and worships me. Without him, I would have died years ago Right? I shake my head to clear the unwelcome feeling and refocus my attention on Law.
I haven’t really seen him around since the other night at dinner. I can feel the frown deepen on my face as I remember the cruel way some of the others treated the boy. I have been gathering devil fruits and either using them, or selling them for a while now, but there is one that I have been unable to reach that would be of great use, I think.
The Ope Ope no Mi. The power of this fruit would undoubtedly save his life and would allow him to heal others. He was already training to be a doctor with his biological family. Maybe he will allow me to adopt him into my family and continue his education. Once I find that fruit, Law will be unstoppable. He will be my successor. My own son. The smile on my face practically hurts, but I do not remember having been this happy before. Not even before my family broke when we left heaven.
I call for Machvise and Giolla to go and find him for me before going into my room to read. I take off my glasses and drink some wine to try and relax after a long day. I do not even notice the world beginning to fade away when suddenly I am there again.
I can feel my body struggle against the villagers, but the flames are hot against my skin! The ropes are again digging into my flesh and the blood is pounding in my ears. The pain is so much! Please make it stop! I can sense the arrow loosed towards my brother when the power wrenches from my stomach.
The next thing I know, I am again in my room, covered in sweat, and I can’t breathe. I lean forward, gasping for air, but the tightness in my chest will not relax. I reach for my sunglasses, and though they bring me some relief, the bottle of wine next to them is a welcome sight. I grab the bottle and begin to drink without even bothering to use my glass. Anything to drown the memories and thoughts that come from these nightmares. I don’t even care how I must look right now. For a moment I wonder what it was that brought this on after so many months of being free from this problem.
However, as the world comes back into focus, my attention is taken from my musing and I notice what must have woken me. The transponder snail keeps his incessant ringing until I pick up the receiver. Ah. It seems they have found Law. I throw down the bottle and the sound of breaking glass barely even registers. I will have Baby 5 come clean it up later, as I have far more important things to attend to now.
Once I make my way into one of our common areas, I see that Rosinante is already there. He looks at me and appears to get up to leave. I shake my head at him and smile. “Please stay, brother. I would like you here for this.”
He nods and pulls out a cigarette. I reach over to light it for him to ensure he does not set himself on fire again. As I watch him take a drag, I smile softly. He is truly my light and the one to save me from myself. We are the same and I know that he will take my pain and save me from these demons that constantly scream in my head. I was so lost before he returned to me. I wonder if he felt lost too?
I am about to tell him my plans for Law, as I want him to understand how important it will be for me to have a son to carry on the Donquixote legacy. I know my brother doesn’t like children, but if he would just give Law a chance, I know he would see the same thing I do! He would see the same piece in him that is in us. The same pain, the same potential, the same power…
I go to say something to my brother when there is movement at the door and my family has returned with Law carried between them. He looks angry, but that is nothing new. I smile at the boy and watch as they tossed him to the ground. I glared at the two of them and let a piece of my haki catch their attention. Apparently, they did not understand my intentions the other night at dinner. Well, at least after this moment, Law’s place here will be undeniably clear.
“Law, I called you in for just one thing. I’ve decided to welcome you to the Donquixote family officially.” I sat back and genuinely enjoyed watching Law’s mouth drop open in shock. I’m not sure why he thought he had been summoned before me, but I know he did not expect this. I was expecting some push back from my family, but fortunately they seemed to be happy for the boy and are congratulating him.
I feel like I should explain myself to him. He is, after all, going to be my son in all but blood. “Because you went through such a horrible experience, you got that incomparable hateful look in your eyes.” I look into his eyes. “You have the quality.”
Giolla puts her hand on his head and begins fawning over the boy while going on about my “vision”, but he seems to reject her assessment, bringing up his illness. The voices are clamoring within my mind, but I don’t care because this is such a happy day for me! I’m going to have a son and I will raise and protect him. I will give him a place in ten years as my legacy to the world, so how would I ever let him die?
I begin to laugh and tell him it depends on his luck, though I know it has nothing to do at all with luck. He was destined to become the son of a god. I have the blood of celestial dragons in me, whether the fools at Mariejois were willing to let me and my brother back into heaven or not. The voices and that power are swelling inside my core and I am beginning to become overwhelmed in it all.
I told Law about the devil fruits and that there are types that could heal him, though I did not mention the exact one I have in mind for him. That will come for later. I also told him that in ten years I want him for my second in command. I know that the boy is still skittish and very prideful. I want him to build bonds with me and the other family members before I push him too fast. I’ve already given him a lot of information, so I will see if he will grasp the opportunity presented to him.
At that moment Rosinante begins to cough and my attention is taken away from Law. As I look towards my brother, I suddenly feel like all the air has been sucked from my lungs and the smile is wiped from my face. I force myself to stay calm as I see blood covering Rosi’s side.
For the slightest of moments, even the voices have gone completely silent and everything is numb inside at the sight of his shirt soaked in dark red liquid, though he appears to be trying to hide the spot beneath his hand. In the back of my mind, the only thought I can form is that the villagers got my brother with their arrows. My brother is going to die!
At that thought, a hurricane unleashes inside me and the demons begin to howl and rage! Who would dare to harm my precious baby brother? Do they not realize that he is descended from gods? I fight back the swarming madness and keep my face calm, but my fists clench from the efforts and my frown deepens. When I ask Rosi what happened, I am surprised to hear how controlled my voice sounds.
He writes a note to say that an enemy has done this to him, but it does nothing to quell the tempest that is beginning to storm within me. I can feel the violence within me increasing as I picture the vengeance I plan on taking on whoever did this to my brother. I will make an example of them that the whole world will know to not fuck with my family!
I ask if he took care of them, just to try and get more information from him. I don’t understand why he didn’t say anything to me in the first place. Perhaps when he sees how I rip this enemy to shreds with my strings, and pull the flesh from their bones slowly while they bleed out and scream for hours, he will then understand how much I love him? I would do anything to keep him safe and punish anyone that would dare harm him! He can trust me to save him, just as he’s saving me. We are family, and that's what you do!
He answers me by writing that he finished the enemy off. The pressure on my heart relaxes and I calm the thoughts that torment me, but the wound still bothers me. I can’t lose my brother. “That’s good. Get it treated, okay?” is all I trust myself to say at that moment.
I reach over to pat Rosi on the shoulder and look once more at Law. He looks like he’s in shock, perhaps at my offer to raise him to be my heir? This makes my heart swell with pride, but I can’t deal with my brother’s pain at this moment and don’t dwell on it long. I can feel myself begin to slip into the darkness again and need to go out for some air. I ask Giolla to get medical attention for my brother as I pass her on my way out, and she responds she will get someone right away. I thank her and move on quickly past the others.
As I move to one of my favorite spots to sit on the rails outside of the buildings, I watch the waves crash against the garbage on the shores and try to breathe. I know that my brother can take care of himself, but when I look at him, I see my moth… I see her and I just want to protect him with everything I have. I lost him once and will not lose him again!
The voices began to scream again that he was lying to me and wanted me dead, but I pushed them aside and continued to watch the waves. I know my brother loves me. He is my heart and my salvation. One day, I know we are going to rule the world together.

Last Testament - Teia
“O Lamb, O Lion, it matters little now / where you lie together, / on the bare and ruined soil.”
-- Danusha Laméris, “Alphabet of the Apocalypse”
((Spoilers for EW MSQ story to lvl 85, at the least ))
I held in my hand their little one, and held their body too, all its wretched little tangle of limbs and tears, all the pitiful wind lodged in their chest and unable to escape for want of their sobs. Their name, I knew not, but I had the knowing of like hearts in like action, the bone-deep thrum of sympathy. For one so young, the bitterness rests even deeper.
I held in my arms their trembling frame, as the ealdorman’s murmurs drifted through the mire of my thoughts, I meditated upon their tragedy. I searched for some words to say, and in my error and weakness, I failed to sustain the only true burden of my calling – to speak to the heart, and truly.
I felt the change as it begun.
What words will suffice for it? I am not a tactician, not an anatomist or a slayer of beasts. I do not write now that others might overcome what I have. I do not know now that I right for anything. Keeper, hallowed is your gaze, my testament and my crucible.
The flesh bubbles, bends, snaps back like the overstretched limb of a tree.
Keeper, you bade, did you not, those brigands to stand at the roadside and demand a toll of blood alongside that of coin? For every misery is a gem in your celestial crown, as every moment adorns your robes in glistening, fractal radiance.
I cannot imagine it, my Lord, my God, for though I ever thought of this day, the cruelty of its impetus seemed but a thin veil drawn before the glory of eternity. Did I think you would call down the Destroyer’s flame, to shatter the peaks and lay low the cities? Did I think that the Twin Traders would find their hands overburdened clutching the souls of the dead, fit to flow between their fingers? Would woe betide, and sea swallow all?
I feel the aether of their body, their very spirit, turn to ashen dust, like bone meal for scattering o’er the garden. But before it can reach the ground, it fades, fades, salt within an endless sea.
I have read the prophecies, yea, and the commentaries, and I have proofs of the end of things and the absolution of the united spirit within your heavenly embrace. Do you need a passage? The wisdom of the sages?
I had imagined, O Lord, a fiction – for I could not have thought that your final artifice would be so cruel as your eternal love. I have born the weight of it for untold centuries, your regal admiration, and in all the bliss of grim dreams and harrowing visions you have gifted me, never have I perceived the scheme of our destruction in this way.
I do not know which of us began to scream first. I do not know what I know, while they – it – digs its teeth into my breast.
Go, wind, go fury, go spite; go the fire from the skies, the crumbling of walls and nations. The immaterial has gone the way it ever will – but, my Lord, could you err? For I reached out with my hands and heart and caught nothing, not the fragment of their spirit, not a mote of that sorrow that had promised to find its answer in my own. Are they gathered up to your kingdom in this way? Is this truly what is to become of us, in the hour before you will grant us the mercy of your ultimate kingdom? Rendered dust upon the blade of your headsman’s axe?
I prayed we would have slept, Lord. I prayed that it would not be another misery to shrive our souls, when that promised land exists beyond. I think of the featureless plain, and I cannot help but ask why, why now, we must climb this slope to achieve it?
My body and mind grow slack with fear. Is there no pity, here? Is there no sense? Storm surges through me, before storm abates, before life blood is stilled. Go, wind, go rage, go spite, go the fingers of struggling death down the aetherial stitchings of nature; if the sea must swallow all, let it begin first with the mockery before me.
I pray, my Lord, that they have found their peace at your side. It is my only consolation. Never would I ask that you shield me from the truth, but consider what use your servant may be if you place the burden of an answer upon him.
Wherever they be, I beseech you only that they do not remain here, in any form or figment.

Norse cosmic
I wrote some short poems for a cosmic version of norse myth! The gods as ancient celestial beings, carving their stories across the galaxy
Surtr
Sky piercer, star forger
A thousand voices scream
Fire flaming, eye gazing
Destroyer of all things
-
Odin
High watcher, realm walker
Keeper of graves and lies
The mad king cackles and calls,
The raven’s feast is nigh
-
Jormungandr
The vast monster, hidden
Lurking, coiled, curled
He swirls and swims, with fierce fangs
He swallows all the world
-
Yggdrasil
The World Tree, all branching
It’s roots dig deep and wide
Gallows gloom, the hangman’s hymn
For all the worlds shall die
-
Tyr
Oath taker, kin saver
Guardian of the wall
Unarmed, save for a sword
The stars shall never fall
-
I might do some more with this inbthe future??? Who knows

Majestically Too Far Beyond : CSSNS 2020
It’s finally here! Yaaaay! Here’s my @cssns for 2020, Majestically Too Far Beyond, title based on the Poem written by Komal Kapoor. You can read my explanation of how this mess all got started Here. Art is by @kmomof4 and I threw in some too for fun.
Summary : Emma Swan has never been that type of girl, you know, the one that cries and sinks into a pint of ice cream after a break-up. She's never ever cared about anyone other than completely out of survival, but then came Neal, and then came the final big break up with someone maybe she sort of kind of loved. So now she is one of those girls who are homeless, living with her adopted brother and his wife at their farm in a long abandoned Victorian keeper's home, desperately trying to save to get her own place while working her difficult government job and as a merc witch on the side. When a desperate Witch calls on her to do a spell, it's all bad news - but then said Witch revealed a mountain of gold coins, and whimpered that Emma is her only hope. How can she not be a bad ass magic savior for this poor soul? All seems to be well, until the consequences are suddenly very real. Killian may be a Demon, a fallen Angel that now delights in the practice of revenge, but first and foremost he's a gentleman. Sort of. Especially when his ruddy Angel brother is focused on bureaucracy and keeping mankind out of chaos, while Killian barely keeps his denizens as safe as he can in a world that wants Demons dead. Witches and Warlocks use them for parts, Werewolves see them as a threat, Angels mostly still hold on to the ancient feud regardless of their treatise, Fae stay chaotic neutral, Vampires don't care for others affairs - it's a perilous world where hate crimes happen without consequence. When Killian goes above to plead for more safety laws in the metropolis of Hyperion Hills, the city that lies over a major portal to hell, he does not expect to meet a council that the elemental five sit on. He especially doesn't expect that the council would ever take him seriously in his campaign for demon safety. Regina, Snow, Ariel, Elsa, and Belle seem dead set on making it their pet project - each for their own very different reasons. Especially when they bring up hiring a tempestuous security consultant, Emma Swan. When they adjourn, he can say that he is optimistically apprehensive. An optimistic Demon never leads to good things, unless by good things you mean throwing back rum while chasing a pretty woman for plundering. He's unsure of what to expect when challenged to do shot for shot by a mysterious blonde Witch, who didn't care who (or what) he is, but he does like a challenge. Too much in fact, the challenge raising the stakes, because from there on it becomes a blur, and yeah, he's bloody well in it now. The idea of a contract sounds fantastic when they stumbled into the strange tower, half naked and wanting. It's the ritual she does instead that he should have been paying attention to. So, maybe now he's missing a hand, and has only the vaguest idea of what happened from the mess of blood he's woken up to, his and someone else's, a mirror's accursed magic the only thing to tell him what took place: he's a prisoner until someone lets him free… And a woman that he’s positive did not exist in his life yesterday, who just happens to not only be a Witch but a complete stranger, is pregnant with his child.
Rated E, but really falls in at more of a M. Fluffy angst with some adult themes and hinted undertones. READ ON AO3 HERE.
Chapter 1 - Long ago, eclipses were feared as well:
To say that the Jones 'Brothers' had been fighting since time began, was not an understatement, but also not exactly truthful. They had actually been fighting before recorded time, and before there was even a concept of the perception of anything besides the aether or eternity.
That's why he'd fallen, actually. Loss was a powerful motivation, enough even to question the utmost Authority - and the Authority despised questioning. Fighting was in the nature of the divine Celestials, as it seemed, and in Her infinite curiosity that She defined as 'Wisdom', God had let Lucifer burn too brightly. Their war was a lover's jealous quarrel turned violent.
Although Liam was created moments before Killian, they were brothers (as it were) even amongst a host of angels, and they were close regardless of their stubborn spats. They fought over the world and its workings, Liam given a flaming sword while Killian was given books. They fought over knowledge of the divine arts, arguing whether humans were worthy of the Arcane. They fought over Killian's love of a mortal woman, and his questioning of commandments.
They fought over Killian standing behind Lucifer, and Liam fought Killian right before he fell. In some ways, it was Liam's own hand that pushed Killian, but in his last angelic act, Killian forgave his brother.
While Earthborne and some remnant Angels believed Demons were not capable of love, they were of course wrong. Demons loved, lost, and forgave just as any others. Even after the schism, even after years of passive aggressive pettiness between both sides, Demons were still seen as wayward, dark, demented creatures. Angels had done little to fight this stereotype, instead reveling in their continued status as goodwill ambassadors.
Even their name amongst mortals was a cosmic joke, the Creator and her lover-made-antagonist too long gone to bother with proper names. They were Angels or Demons to some cultures as humans grew on God's abandoned project, while others called them by their new names.
The Angel Diana was called a Goddess alongside Hecate, Freya, Gabriel, Uriel, and many others. The Demons Zeus, Odin, Loki, Hades, and Poseidon happily took on roles that suited their carnal needs. Angels mixed with mortals along with Demons, God's secret seeds of elemental magics taking life along beside them as Druids, Fae, and Elementals. Some of the Celestials even birthed life as their lost parents had, Demons begetting Demons, Angels begetting Angels, and everything or anything in between.
Humans gained magical prowess as the world changed, Witches, Druids, Warlocks, Mortismals, and Mesmerels becoming the norm for human bloodlines.
Still, Demons were given less, all because God had cursed them irrevocably before disappearing with Lucifer into the abyss. They were cellularly different now than any of the Angels they had once been, a yoke around their neck that they could be forced to obey. Like Angels, they could be worshipped, called, trapped, or contracted even as their powers and bodies twisted into the curse stained strangeness God graced them with. They were looked on with disgust, pity, horror, and anger for it despite their best attempts.
Which was why his sodding Ponce of a brother working as an Angel ambassador for a Prince of Hell was so important - and so bloody frustrating.
It wasn't as if being a Prince of Hell wasn't stressful enough - his people always under siege or afraid of some Witch summoning them to place a brand, then using them as a charcuterie board - no. It was that his brother was a baked potato when it came to convincing the public they were not what millennia of ingrained hatred had established Demons as.
Bosch had died before Killian could uppercut him, regardless of his depiction of Liam as a trumpeting ferret bird or the even less flattering version of Killian. Dante had been another great PR stunt his brother had botched miserably. The Rings of Hell weren't even used, Lucifer gone before he could put God's plans for punishment into place. Now as a museum and reenactment park, it was a popular attraction that helped generate funds for the denizens that lived in the spacial plane that surrounded it, but Dante's review had been swayed by Liam taking him into The Kingdom right after. How could Hell ever live up to the paradise God herself had planned for humans? Only Cedar Point, Busch Gardens, Disney, or Universal Studios could come close as far as themed parks. It was a complete disaster.
This newest idea of Killian sitting on the board of Hyperion Heights to work with the world's premier intersectional coven, 'StoryBrooke', was another terrible idea in the making, and Killian had no qualms letting his brother know it.
"This is absolutely ridiculous Liam," Killian gritted out, itching under the glamor that made him look mortal. Being confined in a skin suit had his molecules vibrating so loudly he could hear his canines, starlight and cosmic fire sending pinpricks of goose flesh down the dark hairs of his arms and legs. Wearing this was torture enough without Liam staring at him in disdain, his own heavenly image unblemished. Even his halo was a polished gold around his fat head. "While I am a dashing rapscallion in my original skin, don't you think it's bad form for them to see me like this instead of how I actually look? Isn't the point of this to show that even if we're not as pretty as your lot, we're still beings that deserve respect?"
Liam grunted, rolling his eyes. Blue fire from explosions of stars and galaxies lit in mirrors of Killian's own, but framed by rosy cheeks and tawny curls instead of moving shadow, a ghoulish pallor, and dark hair the color of ink or raven's feather. The Angelic glamor contained the haze of darkness that moved like smoke around him, the length of his fingers and claws, and made his flesh look pale but not tinted the color of the universe's light. It did not hide his horns (remnants of shattered halo) or his twitching tail if someone chose to leave eyes on him too long, but that was another Demonic burden to bear.
"First impressions, little brother. Even the most progressive Witch is still a Witch. I'd rather them see you like this instead of wondering if you truly need all your giblets."
Killian swallowed hard, nodding once before grumbling, "Younger brother. Younger."
"Go over your notes again. You'll need to be your nauseatingly charming self for this, especially if they bring the males in their midst," Liam asked of him, and Killian looked out the dark windows of the car as his tail moved in agitation.
"Regina. Head of the Coven, Witch and Mortismal that inherited her throne from her mother. Began the integration method and broke away from the Misthaven Coven to create the StoryBrooke one," Killian intoned.
"Right. She's a tough nut too, and her ghosts do the most of her dirty work. She's not someone to cross unless you want your chairs stacked to the ceiling every morning by some bloody poltergeist."
"Aw, well, I'm unfortunately haunted by you already, I doubt a poltergeist could do more damage." Killian slanted a look at his brother, who gave an annoyed huff as his pure white feathers ruffled. Killian was thankful in part that he did not have wings at all times, even if the trade off was painful. "While Regina is the head of the Coven, the head of the Council is Elsa Frost of the Frost twins. She's a direct descendant of the Giant Ice Sorceresses with powerful magic, but her passion is creating legislation for Hyperion Heights. Her sister Anna is the family's public relations face, and runs their fashion empire, Arendelle Designs with her Druid husband."
"Good. Good, tell me about Ariel Poisson."
"Siren and Mermaid, with four years on the council. Made history as the first water Elemental to sit on the council, beating the long seated Witch, Ursula, by a large margin. Opponents argue that her father's position as King of the seas and his dominion over fair weather and fishing made voters nervous to not cast ballots for her. Her campaign slogan was 'Part of your World', which could be beneficial to my campaign."
"Right. Snow Blanchard?"
"Would-be heir to the Misthaven Coven who ended its elitist reign by breaking tradition and leaving, sending them into chaos." Killian smirked. "She sounds like someone who I could get along with."
"She gets along with everyone except her family, which is more than normal it would seem," Liam replied back, and Killian snorted out a chuckle.
"Druid, Elf, and Green Witch. Runs a high profile herbal apothecary chain Enchanted Forest Supplies, focused on holistic medicinals, herbs, and spices. Nolan Farms is a subsidiary that sells produce to the Heights, which is her husband's 'pet' project."
"Watch yourself, brother," Liam warned. "While you might get away with that if it's just the Witches, if David and Ruby sit in today you'll find that will not stand."
"Ah, yes. Ruby Reddings and David 'Charming' Nolan. You only circled that they are Werewolves in red ink everywhere you could. David is Snow's husband, and her lead farm hand. Ruby is Snow's cousin who introduced the two. Ruby is currently in a high profile relationship with your colleague, Inspector Wolfe, and they both are very active in pack politics. Many are betting they will create their own pack if the current Alphas do not abandon some of the more ancient doctrines. Nothing new there."
"Don't forget Livre and Fa."
"Belle Livre, Witch turned Vampire, runs a community literacy foundation and bookstore chain. Known ally to Demon rights. Soft spoken but brutally intelligent. Introduced a synthetic blood that allows for daytime living via plant cells collaborating with Enchanted Forest, which made history 6 years ago," Killian listed. "Mulan Fa, Vampire. Cultural Development head of the Heights, and curator of The Hyperion Heights Museum of Art, History, Science, and Culture. Teaches part time at Hyperion Heights University as an adjunct professor. Fa is married to a Fae Elf, Merida Ursa."
"Good. That's as far as we know besides the whole Swan fiasco, which is not to be brought up."
"What Swan fiasco?"
"Oh, little brother. If you had done your research outside of the profiles I gave you, you would know all about the criminal history of the black and heartless sheep within the Misthaven and StoryBrooke covens. It's better off that you don't know."
"Er. Well. Alright. I didn't look into them because I don't bloody well care about their lots as long as we get protection. There was another slaying this weekend. A Lower Demon."
"I'm aware. Did you know her?"
"Not really, but that's not enough either. I owe my people more. The other Lords of Hell are fine telling Demons to stay below and never use their name, which is fine for the new blood. It's the old, the weak, and the abused that are at risk."
"Careful, Killian. Your lust for vengeance will never be welcomed by mortals."
"I'm well aware Liam. They like my kind for an entirely different kind of lust."
"Could you please not." Liam sighed, sitting back against the seat. After a moment, his brother spoke quietly. "There was another attack as well, this time in broad daylight in Camelot Town. The Anti-Integration Movement has claimed responsibility."
"Of bloody course they have!" Killian hissed, clenching his fists. He pinched the bridge of his nose, grimacing. "Brilliant. Just absolutely marvelous -"
"They were going to run a story in the Times. I managed to block it for now, but we need a sympathetic writer on the inside, or we risk them running another story with their bias."
"I have a guy. I'll reach out, he's an old school Warlock who I've worked with in the past on push back. What's their excuse this time?"
"They said that the Succubus was, quote, 'asking for it by the way she was dressed'."
Nausea rose in Killian's throat, and he swallowed it down with bitter practice. "I wasn't aware that how someone dressed meant their lives were not only void, but taking pieces of them was fine as well."
"We know they're being funded well, and we will get arrests as soon as possible. This won't be forever, Killian."
"That's easy for you to promise when this has been my - our forever." Killian bit out, glaring at his feet.
The car came to a stop, the driver opening the door to let them out. Killian moved briskly up the steps of the council building, as Liam followed behind. They moved through the lobby with an easy flash of Liam's ID that Killian scoffed at, moving into the elevator.
"After that display, I'm going drinking after this," Killian gritted through his teeth.
Liam blinked, straightening his tie in the door's polished reflection. "What display? They were nice."
"Exactly. If I came here alone, I would have been in that security line for an hour."
Liam rolled his eyes, taking down his halo to polish the golden ring. "You absolutely exaggerate how you're treated. Not everyone is out to get you, especially when you look like this. Give others a break."
"I'll give myself a break after this with as much rum as I can safely consume, instead."
The doors pinged open to reveal a small atrium, dark wood flooring in stark contrast to the birch tree covered walls. A secretary stood behind a rounded desk against the far wall, motioning for them to sit.
"They'll be with you in a moment," she offered, glancing at them with a thin smile. Killian could practically taste her distrust as he scratched behind his ear. Liam swatted at him lightly in a bid to get him to stop, both of them tense when the doors finally opened to reveal a petite woman dressed in a powder blue skirt and blazer.
"Come in gentleman. The council will see you now." She smiled icily. His brother stood, his feathers slightly puffed in an indication of his own nervousness.
Killian followed a second later, walking with them as they made forced, but pleasant conversation all the way into the boardroom.
Women sat at a long table that curved slightly, facing their own small table similar to a courtroom. He was reminded of the tribunals in the old days when law had begun, but the courtiers were far different than the strange group of women scrutinizing them.
To his surprise, the majority of them seemed actually curious instead of repulsed or bored.
"The council recognizes Liam Jones and Killian… Jones. These are your chosen surnames, correct? And you identify as… brothers?"
"Yes," Liam stated firmly with a curt nod. Killian watched from his peripheral as his shoulder muscles twitched, his wings held stiffly upright to keep them from the floor.
Killian nodded, careful to keep his tail curled around his legs. The skin suit itched as it clung to him, not abated by his attempt to sit more casually.
"Interesting," remarked the dark haired witch at the far right. A nameplate sat in front of her, marking her as Regina. He wondered idly if her stare was due to the blood on his hands only an eternal existence could bring.
"You are here to ask for help in creating safety measures and a potential council commitment to Demon rights, correct?" Ariel, a fiery haired lass with a heart face, asked.
"Our major point of concern is the influx of hate groups that seem to fall in line with smuggling operations and planned violence," Killian said slowly. Attention snapped to him, and he brought up the slide presentation he had prepared. "We have had some luck stopping shipments and arresting bit players, but we can't find the heads of these operations."
"You can't find them, or you are barred from digging deeper?" Mulan asked, and he chuckled darkly.
"The latter, I'm afraid. We have consistently come to the same dead end again and again. I'm sure I don't have to explain to you ladies how difficult a foe powerful covens behind corporate entities are." He let a grimace creep onto his face, and saw the majority of the women nod in acknowledgement.
"This could make many enemies for us, if approached in the wrong way." Belle stated quietly. "Specifically with our good friends in the Storybrooke Coven."
Snow nodded, exchanging a bitter look with her. "We may need a professional from our coven, but she's unable to get clearance without special notation."
"Oh? Who is this?" Liam asked.
Elsa and the rest of the coven smiled in varying degrees of fondness. "The best in the business, and in my Coven. If you need to find someone, Emma Swan can always find them, and she's good at criminal magical activities. She knows the system, knows how and where to hide, and where to seek."
They'd found what the coven wanted, and their stake in the venture. Killian caught Liam's face falling, his eyes narrowing into slits.
"You can't be serious. Involving Swan in this after -"
"That was all a misunderstanding, and was blown completely out of proportion. We have long held up our end of the blame and accountability, while Misthaven has shirked theirs in the name of slandering her." Elsa steepled her fingers. "If you desire the best, which I assume is why you are here, you need to rehab not only Demons’ image, but hers as well. She should be sitting here with us."
Liam tried in vain to tip the scale back in their favor, his face going red. "We'll consider this as part of our negotiations."
"Negotiations? Liam, you are a detective. You should have deduced by now that you have no leverage. You have only decisions to make." Regina closed her planner, regarding them with her dark gaze. "So, make them quickly, before our patience wanes."
Killian bit back a laugh at Liam’s sudden blustered stuttering. These witches were good, and as the meeting ran on for hours he realized just how much liquor he would need to recover.
"Well that went well."
Liam’s sour expression and slumped shoulders were just visible in his peripheral, even as his feathers were still quite literally ruffled. He huffed out a noise of disapproval, too vexed to even reply back.
"Aye to that, brother." Licking his lips, they stepped into the cool dusk air. "I'm going for that drink, are you…?" Killian glanced at Liam, who shook his head with annoyance.
"Seriously? You really -"
"Really shouldn't what Liam?" Killian smiled, venom leaking into his tone. "Go get drunk in a town that would rather pretend I don't exist or sell me in a fine powder to the nearest bidder? I think I'll be okay, although the concern is duly noted."
He turned on his heel, his glamor falling away in a puff of smoke. The air hit his itchy, overheated skin, his tail whipping around in sharp, agitated flicks.
"Take care of yourself, little brother! No need to be a self destructive bastard. We lost a battle, not the war!" Liam called after him, stepping into his sleek car. Killian snorted.
Hailing a cab with some difficulty, the driver asked where he was headed with the same slight resignation he was used to for his kind.
"A bar, Demon friendly please. Some place without swill."
The driver nodded, dropping him at a dimly lit corner of the city. A red neon sign spread crimson light along the sidewalk, soft light also spilling out the doors accompanied by loud guitar. Looking up, the looping, swirled lettering made him smirk. 'The Jealous Flask' was as good a place as any in his neck of the underworld woods.
The inside was smoky, deep red damask wallpaper paired with dark, pitch stained wood panels, booths, and bartop. The liquor selection was displayed neatly, unlike the few early patrons sitting scattered around. The jukebox played warbly rock music, some punchy chords and an easy to memorize refrain.
'one two three four, can I have a little more, five six seven eight nine ten, I love you'
The bar stools were empty, and Killian slung himself onto one, the bartender nodding his head by way of a greeting.
"Rum, neat," Killian stated, pointing to his preferred vice. The bartender did not stop polishing the glass in his hand, but the bottle floated down gently, pouring itself into a tumbler before the glass set itself down in front of Killian. "Thanks, mate."
The bartender nodded again, continuing his work with the aid of his magic. People began to trickle in as the time ticked forward, a witch or two eyeing him suspiciously, vampires playing pool in the front, a group of young werewolves forcing change into the jukebox to get edgier music playing through the speaker system. The Clash crooned out words against the Fae Queen ruling over greater Eld, the pack jumping around excitedly and thrashing their heads back and forth. By this time Killian had moved to the far curve of the bar, his glass refilled to the point of the bottle sitting next to him like a patient date. There were still no other Demons in his presence. It shouldn't have surprised him, shouldn't have even made him angry with the amount of violence they were privy to, but he burned away the emotions with the alcohol flowing down his throat.
A soft touch on his shoulder caught his attention, and he turned with a growl. It died in his throat when large eyes met his, blonde curls falling in front of her eyes in loose tendrils.
"I'm so sorry, I didn't mean to bother you," she stammered, biting her lip. Pointing to a drink that was clearly not his, umbrella and all, she continued. "I was trying to reach my drink. It’s gotten crowded and I thought, I mean, I am sorry I wasn't trying to -"
"Aye." He nodded, throwing back his drink. "S'alright lass. I'm sorry, I s'pose I'm just a bit out of place here."
She smiled, blushing. "Yeah, I uh, I get that. I haven't seen you around before."
"First time here. I was in the neighborhood for business." He poured himself more, and to his surprise she pushed and elbowed her way to sit next to him.
"Business?" Her eyes were curious while her fingers toyed with the umbrella in her drink. "Should I be concerned?"
It was clearly teasing, and Killian felt himself loosening up around her. She seemed to read him well, or at least the alcohol was working. "Not any of the good kind, I'm afraid." He grinned with a wink.
"Ah, so we're just ships passing in the night?" She leaned in and he could smell the floral and herbal scent of her, her eyelashes batting coquettishly as she sipped her drink in his space.
"Passing closely, I hope," he murmured. His heart raced; it had been ages since any mortal had shown interest in him that was mutual.
His head spun as she met him drink for drink, hand unsubtly creeping higher up his hip.
"Would you be opposed to… Maybe, I don't know… getting out of here?"
"Are you saying you would fancy a nightcap, lass?" She smiled from under her lashes while biting her lip, and his heated blood grew hotter.
"Perhaps." She stood with grace as she extended a hand to him. "My place is a quick and easy teleportation spell away from here, and my bed doesn't require any sort of magic outside of what I can do with my tongue."
Killian hesitated, her golden hair in the glow of the lights making her seem to shimmer. "I don't even know your name -"
"Eloise. It's Eloise." She pulled him up, letting him stumble into her body. Her lips met his, and soon he was pulling her closer as their mouths slanted across one another's in hunger. She bit his lip and he felt the tightness that had bloomed in his belly spread fire down his spine.
"Lead the way, love," he whispered huskily, grinding into her.
She smiled broadly, the world shifting until he was in her dimly lit home. A lone window twinkled starlight, moon huge outside as it hung in the sky. Her tongue slid past his lips, the bitter herbal taste overwhelming while the world shifted again, this time pulling him apart.
In a perfect world, Emma Swan would not be doing anything remotely close to what she was currently debating doing. It truly wasn't her fault; it fell on Neal and his stupid family if anyone was to blame, and his stupid coven with their stupid leader. She should have known back then it had been a set up, should have known that Neal was a fucking liar. How many times did the same drawn out plot have to play out? Apparently, too many, considering she had still warmed his bed until a week ago.
This time it was final. Emma wouldn't accept him back when Neal slithered out from under the rock he had his affair in. She wouldn't be charmed by his smooth talking silver tongue, and if he so much as breathed near her, she would take another five years for breaking his smarmy Fae nose. Final. It had to be final.
But finality meant certain conditions had to be met, especially if she was to ward him away. For one, the beautiful loft that belonged to Neal in the Heights downtown could definitely not be her base of operations any more. Neither could the various in between places she found where Emma could grieve until he took her back, damaged goods and all. No more hotel rooms, no more abandoned apartments, no more warehouses, vacation rentals, or quiet empty offices. She had to get her own place, and it had to be able to handle her particularly finicky magic. Neal's place wasn't great for her particular practice, but the view had been killer enough to ignore it. Neal's fortune had meant she didn't need to work, and with her record (or, as his coven would sneer, 'notoriety') that was just as well.
Working added a wrinkle to her life; she would have to find somewhere that allowed her enough space for her magic to keep her employed. That would require a hefty chunk of gold - if she was lucky. The prices in the downtown area were steep, only high profile Witches, Warlocks, Fae, and Celestials could afford accommodation that close to the capitol buildings and Ley Lines. Initially when Emma had glanced through the apartment listings on the bulletin board, she had almost had a panic attack at the amount of gold they demanded.
Her brother David, blessings be, had been her knight in shining armor. There was a large Victorian home that lay in shambles at the edge of their farm lands, its beautiful scalloped details in need of paint, and the gutters growing weeds as thick as her forearm. But, it was within her budget if she could get the down payment placed before the scheduled demolition. She put what she had down to stall as much as she could, but it was not enough in the least.
One big job was all she needed. One big job that she could cash out on. A dip of her toes back into the waters of peddling illegal magic, just quickly in and out without a splash.
She didn't need any more jail time, that was for certain.
Putting out the word she was available in the whisper market was always dangerous, but listening in was free and without a snag if you were smart.
Emma heard tell of a desperate woman willing to give a truckload full of gold to the right Witch who could perform delicate, esoteric, deeply Arcane and forbidden magics. Luckily for both of them, that's what Emma excelled at.
She had always been good at her craft, and her magical workings were beyond powerful. She could do things that other practitioners only dared to dream of, if they could even conceive it. It was why Neal had kept her around, and why his coven's dislike would melt away if she said she would consider joining.
(If she did that around Yulesmas for better gifts, was it really so bad?)
The request itself was intriguing, the woman herself a Witch that could not do the spell alone. She wanted an equivalent exchange of unbreakable magical bonds, which while tricky, was not forbidden in most circumstances. The offer was too good to pass up on, but Emma didn't like leaving things to complete chance.
Cue her sister-in-law, Snow. If anyone could throw runes, read the winds, divine from the mundane, and not keep any of it a fucking secret, it was Snow.
Emma knocked on their cheery red door in the early morning, which must have been a surprise to Snow considering she was half dressed in business wear. She pulled up her stockings in a one footed hop, motioning for Emma to come in as she balanced the phone receiver against her neck. The coiled cord spun around her, and she groaned loudly.
"Yes, Regina, I know. I'll be there, I'm literally - it's 2 hours away. I will be there in thirty minutes at latest, but - Well, yes, Emma just walked in." Snow gestured at a chair, and Emma sat, looking at her with an eyebrow raised. "Yes, I know it's early for her. I know. Uh huh. Yes. We will definitely put her on the table; it's absurd not to, considering - yes, I would love to talk to you about this in person as I've said - alright. Yes. Okay then, buh-bye."
Sighing, Snow twirled, untwisting herself from the phone cord. She smoothed down her pencil skirt and blouse before looking straight at Emma with a curious stare. Her mouth twitched with annoyance as she spoke.
"Now. To what do I owe the pleasure? I have a meeting with Celestials shortly, so." She waved a hand indicating the clock in the background. Turning to the counter, she opened up a cookie jar and removed a rolled cannabis cigarette, putting it between her lips and lighting it.
Emma swallowed, watching the petite woman slide the purple lighter back in its space on their counter. "I just need you to divine something for me. A situation, with a woman who wants me to… to uh, do something."
Snow rolled her eyes, narrowing them to glare at Emma. "We are bringing you up as collateral in our meeting today, trying to get you a seat where you belong - on the council," Snow hissed. She pinched the bridge of her nose, taking a breath.
"Please?" Emma asked innocently, batting her eyelashes for good measure.
Snow sighed. "Alright. Picture the situation and the woman."
Emma focused on the description, the spellwork requested, the woman's pleas. She could feel Snow's magic engulf her, and the fuzziness that came with it as she wove threads out into the natural universe, time and space sending her back answers.
A moment passed, and the feeling abruptly stopped as Snow shook her head.
"This doesn't feel right," Snow said, taking a drag of her blunt. She exhaled, the thick smoke swirling into the shape of birds that dove through the air. Emma coughed, waving a hand in front of her face. "That woman… I don't know. She feels off."
Emma frowned, petulant that the answer was negative. "She's a Witch, and in trouble."
"Have you rolled your runes?" Snow began to pull on her loafers, gathering her things.
Emma chewed her lip. She had divined, or tried to, but had not found a concrete result. "Yeah, and they said it's… Questionable, but the end result leaves all parties happy. Tarot said basically the same thing."
Snow let out a little twittering laugh, pulling her purse up on her shoulder. "And how does Neal feel about it?"
"Neal doesn't need to feel any way about it. I… We… I broke it off." Emma looked at her shoes, then idly inspected the counters formica. "Forever this time."
"Oh. Is that why you're here so early?" Snow's eyes went wide, a hand covering her mouth. "Oh, Emma, honey. I'm so sorry, I've just been under so much stress with Regina and this council. Wait, where are you staying? Oh no - are you homeless!? You mean it, you're never going back to that creep?"
"Never," Emma said firmly, even as her voice caught. "I'll find a place though, Snow. Don't worry."
"So you are homeless, oh Emma, if I wasn't late - no. No. You know, I'll call Regina and cancel it, you need me more than -"
"No, well, I mean -" Emma shook her head. "No. I'll stay here tonight if I have to, but you need to get to your meeting. I don't need Regina's wrath on top of everything else."
"You know you can stay here with us as long as you need, oh, Emma, I wish you had told me -"
"I don't want to stay here. I can't work here, and I love you guys but you both are gross with your lovey dovey hippie -"
"I get it, I get it." Snow grimaced.
"So yeah, I need the money. I can't stay here, I need my own place… I put a tiny deposit on that Victorian down the road, but I need the full down payment to keep it." Emma shrugged.
"The house at the --- Emma, that place is a breeze away from being condemned!"
"No it's not," Emma groaned, rubbing her temple. "It's got good bones, and character. It just needs some… help."
"Well. I mean…" Snow hesitated, heading towards the door, as Emma followed. "Alright then. I'm just warning you, I get a terrible vibe from that woman and I could cancel this today, we could work out a plan. We have the money from the harvest. You could work for us or with David and help us with the roll outs in exchange for a loan. I'm organized, but the help would be appreciated if you're living so close… especially since I'm making sure that house is safely remodeled for you. I don't want you to end up with the roof falling on you or some gas line exploding."
"You worry way too much, Snow."
"I hear the future through nature, and it's generally terrifying. Nature is terrifying. Excuse me for being cautious, and wanting to help you out."
Emma laughed as they walked out the door together, Snow rummaging in her bag for lipstick which she quickly applied. "Yeah well, you're also smoking weed so potent it could put an elephant to sleep. I don't want a loan from you."
"I'm not an elephant, Em. I'm an Elf. It'll take more than this to knock me on my ass." She smiled, extending a hand to squeeze Emma's shoulder. "Be careful, okay? No repeats."
"That wasn't -" Emma protested, but Snow cut her off with a sharp look. "Yeah, alright.
"Good. I'll see you tonight, you're coming for dinner. No buts." Snow grinned, before disappearing with a puff of periwinkle smoke.
Emma groaned, kicking dirt as she stalked away towards her new potential home.
In the final days before moving from the small basement apartment Emma rented, the dingy, unused, bare studio finally found some decoration in chalk outlines, herbs, and a large bubbling cauldron. It hadn't ever been a home or remotely close to one when Neal presented a better option, the bed untouched and unmade. It reminded Emma more of her prison cell than anything else, which offered a strange duality of comfort mixed with dread. It was fitting that she would meet to do this ritual here.
Gothel arrived promptly for their 10 am arranged meeting in a well worn taupe cloak. She looked as desperate as the correspondences between them indicated, but Emma resolved to get this over with as quickly as possible. They shared a nod in the form of hellos, then Emma pointed to the cauldron.
"Let's begin, shall we?" Emma asked, and Gothel drew back her cloak to reveal her tired and gaunt looking face.
"Yes. Let's. Your payment, with more upon completion." Gothel dropped a large purse on the counter, Emma immediately grabbing it and checking the contents. It was real, her heart soaring as she shoved it in her bag.
"So, you are to give me a token of your will, usually blood, an animal you raised, or something that's valuable to you . Something you care about, that you are tied to that a severing will make you -"
"I give you the life of my first child," Gothel interrupted.
Emma's eyes widened in surprise. "Oh." Biting her lip, she brushed back her braid. "That's… That's super Illegal. I…"
"You wanted something heavy, you got it. There's a reason why I came to you; you have a reputation for doing things quietly. The reason you chose me is because you need the coin. Now, my terms. I know you provide healing. I want to keep myself young and strong - youthful immortality. Grant me this." The grin on her face unsettled Emma, Snow's warning in her mind. Nevertheless, the satchel of gold meant a secured home.
"Um. Alright. Are you sure, the life of your firstborn? That's a ways off, and the strength won't happen until -"
"Do it. Do it now, I know the spell will be enacted when payment is due. I'm well studied - Breaking a bond with a child, specifically your first, will grant me the power I need. I know that I can't do this spell myself either, so here I am."
Emma gulped. "Okay. Let me get the texts."
Emma returned with her copper cauldron, pile of books, and spell components. Gothel's grin grew wider, her eyes gleaming at the sight of the tongues, eyes, crushed butterflies, and other more macabre ingredients the spell required.
Feeling a low tug in her gut that something was wrong, Emma backed away from the altar. The other Witch seemed to shimmer, slightly in alarm, a glamor of some sort possibly covering her skin. Feeling even more unsettled, Emma shook her head.
"I can't do this, listen -"
"Please. Please you must, I need this to escape a curse. It's blood magic, almost unbreakable and impossible to escape on my own. Please." Emma heard no lies in her speech. "I admit that I have not been entirely truthful. While I was able to send you the gold easily, I am trapped, held against my will. I can only project myself to you. I was afraid to tell you, because I am desperate to rid myself of this curse." When no lies continued to register, Emma felt a deep sense of pity for the other witch. A blood magic binding was no joke; someone truly must have hated the poor woman.
"Fine," Emma said, throwing her hands up. Gothel perked up slightly, hope in her eyes. Throwing the ingredients in the cauldron, a shimmering mist roiled over the edge as she spoke ancient words and stirred in the shape of long unused runes. Adding bones that melted in soapy bubbles and stirring with a long Pegasus feather that gradually turned to ash, she looked up at Gothel, who was wringing her hands anxiously.
"Your tokens?" Emma asked.
Gothel waved a hand over the stained cloth; several of the woman's teeth, a long braid of her hair, and a large chunk of skin fell into the cauldron. The cauldron's contents began to boil, smoke curling in darkened serpentine tangles.
Emma began the words, Latin, Arameric, the old tongue of the Pagans, Celtic, remnants of Gaul, flowing them together until speaking plainly to her own magic.
"Blood of one that is two, child, mother,
Blood of my own, tear them asunder,
Thicker than wine, thicker than water,
Ties that bind, bound to another,
The womb that grows life,
Kin cared for in kind,
A payment for power,
Remake the ties, lift, and unbind."
Scraping her hand against a dagger, Emma let her blood drop slowly into the brew, the words flowing out in the crimson rivulets. As she pulled away the wound closed from her own healing energy.
"Cradle of moon within flesh,
Remake that which is to be made,
Your reflection removed,
Mine in its stead.
Your burden is mine,
Carried and held as your first,
Blood of the two, child, mother,
As they are born, you are cursed."
She looked at Gothel, who was still wringing her hands, long nails cutting into her palms. This magic was hopefully worth the price the woman had so freely paid. Breaking an infant and mother's bond to give to another was a great sacrifice, the magic comparable to true love, if not greater. The power the Witch would receive would hopefully free her from the curse, but also give her the strength she desired.
"It's done. You must cast your brand over the cauldron, and when you, you know," Emma turned around, holding herself tightly. Caught up in the thought of what she, Emma Swan, would even do with a child, she was unaware of the other Witch behind her scrambling to the cauldron or her deep disregard for anything she was saying. "Get pregnant, let me know. I'll handle that - Wait, what are you -"
Gothel chuckled lowly, her brand in its arcane circle around the cauldron, neon lines of electricity like power that sparked and crackled. Emma felt her hair stand on end, small pebbles lifting off the stone floor as the cauldron shook. Smoke rose in heavy plumes, purple and a noxious mauve that made the air feel sticky, her lungs not able to fill all the way. Gothel's chuckle had turned into a wild cackle, her braided and matted hair like vines or a visage of Medusa.
Gothel's voice was crazed, shrill as she pointed a gnarled finger at Emma. "This is it. This is it! I've done it, I'm free! Oh, you silly, stupid girl. Now nothing will ever stop me again!"
Her laugh grew into a shriek of triumph as magic swirled around them, Emma watching as the woman in front of her disappeared. Gaping at what happened, Emma checked herself for any signs of curses or hexes, unsure of what had just taken place.
To her surprise, no sign of magic lay on her that she could see. She wasn't cursed, the room wasn't jinxed, and the second payment… Emma quickly checked her purse, finding the large satchel of gold easily. The second sat where Gothel had discarded it without looking twice, and she picked it up hesitantly. It was heavy in her hands as she checked it again and again, realizing that for once in her life, everything was going right.
Three hours later, she owned the Victorian home down the road from her brother's farm, the first home she had ever truly called hers.
Living near her brother's home had its perks, and disadvantages, as Snow had hinted. For one, Snow was cooking for her every day, and Emma was positive she was going to gain several dress sizes if she didn't stop gorging on various pasta dishes while pouring her magic into restoring the wooden floor.
A major downside was having her brother constantly fixing her house without her being aware. She'd been woken by him cleaning the gutters, fixing her porch, and of all things, roofing. It had only been a few days, but between his insistence on the outside being presentable and her own work inside, the house was coming along faster than she ever dreamed. It was frightening, and David kept her on edge with his very obvious attempts at snooping around.
"So, you're done with Neal for good," he said, startling her as she sat out on a newly hung porch swing. She wrinkled her nose at him in protest, and he grinned. "And… You're making doors again."
She froze, panic gripping her.
"It's alright, I'm not mad. I'm just - just be careful. I trust you, but I know that before -"
"I made a mistake. I know it, you know it, the Coven knows it, and so does everyone else in the Heights that saw me fall from grace." Emma curled her arms around her knees, bitterly forcing out words. "I won't make the same mistake again. I am on the straight and narrow; these doors are for commuting and hunting skips only."
David laughed, poking her in the side. "Back to hunting skips, huh? Damn. Don't you ever settle down and enjoy the simple life?"
Emma laughed, shaking her head. "What the hell is the simple life? Nothing is simple."
"Well, yeah, but… I mean the simple life." He brushed a hand through his hair, looking at her with a gentleness that she instantly felt uneasy with. "House, a pet maybe, hobbies, a partner, kids -"
"If you are trying to set me up again -"
"Not me," David raised his hands defensively. "No, I was just -"
"I don't deserve that life," Emma stated, shrugging. The sun was sinking lower, crickets singing in the cool air. "That life isn't for me. That life is for people like you and Snow, people that are worth something."
"Oh, Emma. You know that's not -"
"Don't you have somewhere to be?" Emma snapped, standing with a start. David looked at her with a hurt expression, and she felt pure rage. "Goodnight."
She stepped back into the house, letting the screen door slam shut behind her.
"Emma, come on," David called from the porch, but Emma wasn't listening to him as she fought the immediate urge to be ill. The sudden nausea ripped through her, and despite her attempts, vomit burst from her throat.
She panted, holding on to the wall with one hand. The other hand gripped her side, fierce cramping making her double over in a scream of agony. She lurched forward, unable to breathe as pressure rose in her stomach. To her terror, her skin grew taut and she seemed to bloat, the pain of it ripping through her.
David splintered the door, his arms around her as she lost consciousness.
She woke in an ambulance, David holding her hand like he'd done when they were children. He was always the best big brother she could have asked for, always protective of her, and always pushing her to be better. He had convinced her to trust Ruth, convinced her to take a chance with the older woman who was willing to adopt both of them, and they had found another home together. When she was scared or sick, he was right there to hold her hand. Even now as pain ripped through her, he was there. She tried to understand, but her body burned until the flame became too much to bear.
She woke again to the beeping of machines and David's yelling, her body aching but no longer in the same searing pain. Lifting herself up to try and hear what David was saying, she struggled to make out more than just fragments.
"I'm not leaving, that's my sister ---- How did -- she wasn't, she --- I don't know, she never said anything ----- A WHAT? No! I'm --- not leaving!"
Emma's stomach lurched, and she shifted to get out of bed. The sheets slid from her middle, and she gasped. Her middle was rounded, as if she was pregnant. But that was impossible, that was absolutely and completely impossible.
A knock sounded, a petite woman entering.
"I'm Doctor Mullins, Emma. I know that this may take some time to fully process, but… you're pregnant."
Emma hissed out a breath into a hysterical laugh. "What? No. No. This is not how babies work, or pregnancy, or even - I haven't even had sex since - "
"I know, and I understand that you must be frightened." The doctor attempted to console her, but Emma could not stop her rising panic. She touched the rounded skin of her stomach, the firm smoothness lined with stretch marks. Letting out a low wail, the doctor tried to speak over her still. "It's some ancient and dark magic, but it's very real. We have an inspector on the way to take your statement, and we performed a few tests -"
"No. No, this is a bad dream, this isn't real, this isn't happening to me!" Emma closed her eyes, trying to focus.
" - most concerning of which is the results on paternity, which indicate that the father has non-human presenting DNA. Normally that's not terribly unusual, but this is clearly not a planned pregnancy considering your… your conception being, well, this, and the genomic markers show that the parentage is half Celestial. I need to ask, have you had any relationships with an Angel?"
Emma shook her head, trying to understand what the doctor was asking.
"Alright, what about anyone with proximity to dark, Arcane, or Demonic magics? Anyone who associates with Demons? Do you associate with them?" The doctor eyed her curiously, and Emma shook her head again.
"I don't know any Demons, Angels, or Celestials." Emma bit her lip, frustrated at the question. Rolling it between her teeth, she murmured a thought out loud. "I did recently perform a ritual that was older. It didn't call for this though, I don't know anything about this…"
"Well, it doesn't just happen." Emma looked at the doctor with enough venom in her stare to curdle milk. The doctor laughed nervously. "I mean, it did but -"
"This cannot be happening," Emma moaned, throwing her head back against the hospital bed's pillow. "This has to be a bad dream."
"I'm afraid it is all very real. Considering the circumstances, an inspector of magical law will be assigned to question you regarding the situation. Because of the issues of legality, you may not leave or have visitors until then." The doctor stood, brushing her hands on her slacks. "Baby looks healthy despite wanting to grow at an accelerated rate, and we have slowed that as much as we can. Welcome to motherhood Miss Swan, and, er… Congratulations." Giving a last placid smile, she left the room, leaving Emma alone.
Emma sat stunned, unable to do anything but focus on her steady breathing.
(Fuck)
The single word came to mind again and again, escaping from her lips as her breath finally began to turn into sobs.
"Fuck."

The Party Party Part 6
So... there was a bit of a situation... a very bad situation. Not a terrible situation, Faithy and Echo are doing quite lovely.
“Well we wouldn’t have been in this mess if I was the party leader!” Dax shouted at the shorter god. She simply huffed and started tapping her foot.
“Well I didn’t see you throwing any ideas around!” She looked around the dark cave they were in, double checking for a way out. “You twat” she said off handedly.
Dax’s eyes widen, sure what he said was rude... but not to deserve that.
What happened between the two residential celestial beings?
There they were, five papers spread across the floor, each with a different task. Cj explained that they decided to pick up side jobs to do on the way to wedding. Ash and Jo had realized they would be a week early if they went straight there, so this was a perfect idea.
Faithy just shrugged her shoulders. She wasn’t party leader anymore so if anything happened, it wasn’t her fault.
“Wait which one is first on the list?” Dax finally decided to pipe in, as he knew he was free of compasses.
Carter held up their’s proudly, “we’re going after this thing called the uh....” he quickly flipped the paper around to read, “Mortem Spera... I don’t know if I said that right.”
“What is it exactly?” Ash asked. Carter read some more and shrugged. Apparently no information on it... weird.
Carter on the other hand, was having a tougher time that the two gods. Both of Ash’s and Jo’s cloaks were ripped to shreds. So their ears were out and the open, reminding Carter plenty of what they truly were.... Nyah Nyah kawaii anime cat people.
Jo had on a large hat, thank Gjhar feiiled, but her tail was sticking out. Ash on the other hand was a free cat boy, disgusting...
Carter was scurrying to look for a blind fold, make it out of anything... But there was hinderance to that plan.
“So Carter... Do you like oranges?”
Carter pulled all of his mental strength to not freak out that this cat girl was speaking to him. He took a deep breath and shut his eyes tight. “Why?” Jo just blinked at him. “I don’t want to answer that” carter continued. “I swear it’s not a deez nuts joke.” Jo replied. Carter kinda just roll his eyes but not, being that they are closed. “Kinda... but that’s so random— I’m confused.”
Jo giggle, “I just wanted to know if you liked oranges.” She replied. “I don’t hate oranges.”
“Anyway, I guess you can ask questions about me, or I can ask more about you— whatever you are more comfortable with.”
Carter shrugged, walking past her to pick up something he spotted once he opened his eyes. It was a clothe that was sticking out of rubble. “Uhhhh...” The nymph examined the clothe, it was embroidered with strange writing and lots of stars.
“Ash, you’ve studied a few ancient languages right?” Jo looked over him to find him staring at a large tapestry on the other part of the cave.
“No, where did you get that idea?” He asked. Jo just shrugged, “I didn’t know if you did, was just trying my luck.”
Carter brought over his clothe to compare the writing. It seemed to be the same letters, but slightly different... maybe it was handwriting? Ash looked over at Carter’s finding but they jumped away from him, trying to keep some distance.
“Oh shoot I forgot.” Ash said, flattening the ears on his head. Carter frowned and took a deep breath and inched back toward the bard. “Take this hurry up!” Carter shoves it at him and scurries farther away.
“Ok I guess.” Ash went back to the tapestry, trying to figure out the reoccurring letters.
Jo scooted closer to carter and smiled widely. “So... what happened with cats that caused you to be terrified so much?” She asked sweetly. Carter pauses. “Uhhhh....”
Earlier....
“Ok, everyone stick together. The shop keeper says there’s major stress at the entrance of the cave.” Cj explained as she examined the map that they bought from a gift shop. It was a old mine that housed crystals, but now it’s a tourist attraction.
The whole surrounding town was super old and and had a temple for just about every religion in the land. Even Gjhar feiiled.... Faithy kept her cloak on put away any loose jewelry. The main temple was up north, so as they traveled that way, more and more of them were more common.
But I’ll stop there. The shop keeper said someone covered in dragon scales came through the shop with a large box and went straight into the caves. He seemed like he was running for someone, so whatever was in the box seemed important.
As they ventured in the unconsciously huddled into three separate groups, Faithy and Echo on the left, Carter, Jo, and Ash on the right, and Dax and Cj in the middle.
Definitely unrelated though, Echo was tracing a wall painting with it’s finger and the mountain started shaking. “WHO DECIDED TOUCHING SOMETHING WAS A GOOD IDEA?!?” Ash screamed. “IT WAS CJ” Dax yelled back.
Like it was an action movie or something, rubble came tumbling down and separated the party.
“Ok whatever. Can you use your plants to get us out of here?” Dax asked he traced the walls of the cave.
Cj’s face read “oh duh” but as she went to feel the walls for roots or anything else she frowned. “No good. If I call them I have no idea what it’ll do to integrity of the cave.”
Dax huffed, frail mortals had to be so... frail. Sure the two of them would survive, but his favorite humanoids definitely wouldn’t.
A whistling noise echoed through the tunnel and they taking a fighting stance. Dax signaled her was going further in and Cj followed. They walk around a corner to see a green light emerging from further in.
“You got a few more millennias to live, I’ll go ahead.” Dax said dramaticly. Cj rolls her eyes and crosses her arms. “Like someone would be able to kill, much less defeat a Chaos god.”
Dax slapped a hand on either side of his face and acted surprised.
“To think you’d have so much faith in me!”
Cj just punched his arm, “that would be Faithy, not you.”
“Can I help you two?” A voice from behind them caused them to scream and Dax jumped into the smaller God’s arms.
Even though she was a goddess, she didn’t have supernatural strength of any nature. So her small frame was having trouble keeping him up.
It was a very very very very very very very old person. Now, Cj and Dax had no room to talk, but they had a better skincare routine.
Dax jumped out of Cj’s arms suddenly and her arms flung upwards in a very fast motion, knocking her down in the process. Dax helped her up and they readjust themselves.
“Are you the reason I heard some rumbling?” He asked as he shown his blue lantern around.
A sweat ran down CJ’s back.
“Actually, it was a lizard thing.” Dax spoke up. Cj looked at him with audacity. He had just blamed her for touching the thing she shouldn’t have, causing the mountain to come down on them. So he knew....
The old person simply nodded, “ah well, it’ll take them some time to dig that out. It earns the nearby too much money from tourist to let it stay caved in.” He explained. “Now, why don’t we talk for a bit? I’ll pour some tea.”
They reluctantly follow him into his little cave house. Well it was a small cave room, what’s the term for that? Google isn’t very helpful because all it’s wanting to do is give me tips for a man cave layout.
“So what brings you into an empty crystal cave? You seem more like adventurers than tourist.”
Back to Carter and the cats.
“Oh yeah... cats.” Carter looked away, trying to avoid the question.
Jo sighed and took a step back. “Ok it’s ok, you don’t have to answer that.”
Carter sighed in relief and turned straight around. “But how did you learn to be so swag?”
Carter paused and slowly turned back to them and was about to answer when Ash interrupted.
“OK GUYS! The thing we’re are after is a weapon!” He then broke his instrument and tore off a part of his cape to make a proper torch. Now you might be wondering how they could see without a torch. Ash and Jo could see enough not to bump into anything and Carter could tell where the general area of something is. That piece of clothe was just pure luck.
“Jo can you light this?” He asked her. She nodded and snapped her fingers to start a flame and lit it like a birthday candle.
“How did you do that? I don’t think archers can do that.” Carter said in confusion. She laughed and pointed at her hat. “I can change my class depending on my hat. Not that I have any control of it... if kinda just happens and I can’t ever remember what hat goes with what, we kinda just got lucky.”
Carter blinked slowly. The hat made no sense and there was so no sense of making sense of the thing.
“Guys look!” Ash held up the torch near the tapestry to show the words formed a picture of a weapon. There were also stars scattered around it.
“How do you even know that’s the thing we’re looking for? It could just be something relating to something else?” Jo asked.
“Carter give me the flier.” Ash asked sticking his hand out. Carter scrambled around to remember where he stuffed it, “it’s on your belt of daggers.” Ash said. He grabs it and hands it to the cat boy.
Ash holds it up and looks for any similarity between the flier and the tapestry. “Well thats only convenient.” He said. Jo and Carter look over his shoulder and the weird drawing on the flier almost matches the tapestry.
“It’s missing the words that make up the weapon.” Jo pointed out. Now that was very apparent to Carter and Ash but ummm.... Jo is nice and is explaining what’s going on for you sweet Reader-Chan!
(Aughh that took thirty years off my life. I feel like I’m writing on Wattpad again)
But every single star was present. “Wow I feel smart for figuring this out.” Ash said proudly.
“Do they make a pattern?” Carter asked. Ash shoved the flier at him and started kicking random rocks until one fell apart. He picked it up and grabbed the flier back from carter and plopped down.
He used the fragile rock as chalk and connected each start. “Oooh smart.” Jo added.
There were five large stars and a few smaller stars scattered as well. When Ash connected them all together it looked like a deformed turkey.
“Surely that’s not right.” Ash quickly dusted off the flier and connected only the large stars. “Ok tell me if I’m wrong, but does this look like a straying path?” He pointed out.
It started at one point, split into three, then back to another. “Oh yeah I can see that.” Jo replied.
“Maybe we were going to split up anyway and the rubble just sped it up.” Ash purposed.
“I still don’t see how this has anything to with the Mortem Spera“ Carter replied. Ash thought on his question for a minute but shrugged. “Most of these stupid quest have no reason to link up together the way they do.” The cat boy replied.
“Wait, that means we should be able to meet back up with the others then.” Jo replied. Ash quickly rips the tapestry off the wall and rolls it up. “I don’t know if this will be helpful, but it’s worth a shot.” They then head off the find the others.
“So these star forgers are immortal?” Cj asked before taking another sip of tea. The elder nodded.
“The only thing known to strike down one of these beings is something called the Mortem Spera.” He replied, drinking some of his own tea.
The two gods looked at each other, remembering that was thing they were hired to receive.
“But hear my warning. No mortal has managed to get their hands on it, and if they did they would surely meet their end.” He added.
“So who wielded it?” Dax spoke up. Dax did not have tea, he was drinking black coffee. Not that the old man had coffee, he made it himself— French press and everything.
The old man fell silent and put down his cup. “I don’t know the answer to that question. My theory was a dying god.” Interesting, interesting cool story bro.
“But I don’t actually know that. But I don’t think too much about the subject.”
“Well thank you for your time, but we need to find our friends.” Cj announced and pulled Dax up with her.
“Thank you for humoring me, you young folk have fun.” He said as he was went back to drinking tea.
Cj and Dax scurried out and proceeded further into the cave. “I’m sorry I don’t think he knows what’s he’s talking about.” Dax said.
“How so?” Cj replied. The older god sighed. “As long as I’ve lived, I would have at least heard about a dying god THAT desperate to live. Sure some seek out the fountain of youth, but trying to kill something like a star forger.”
Cj thought on it and nodded, “he did seem like he belonged in a loony bin.”
They then turned another corner to find... Faithy and Echo having a tea party?
She had on a fake crown and Echo had on a fake mustache and top hat. But this wasn’t your average tea party, it was the real thing. With delicate dishes, a tower of Pastries, and Gjhar feiiled forbid... a white lace table clothe.
“Is this what you’ve been doing this whole time?” Cj asked, not that she was one to ask.
“We ran into this lovely dwarf who owns a restaurant in here and we’ve been waiting on the rest of you.” Faithy explained before drinking out of her cup with her pinkie at ninety degrees.
Dax and Cj looked at them confused, “how did you know we were coming this way?” Cj asked.
“Ahh... so the shop owner was telling us that the cave coming down on itself was just a illusion.” Echo replied.
Cj flops down onto the ground and leaves an indention around herself.
“Yeah the whole thing is tourist trap role playing adventure. At the end they trick you into trading a sack of gold for a wooden spear.” Faith added.
“That does explain why it didn’t get any darker when the rocks blocked the entrance.” Dax replied.
Cj shot up from her Cj shaped hole in the floor and started screaming incoherently. She then stop and narrowed her eyes at Dax. “You’re a Chaos god and you couldn’t sense an illusion?”
Dax just shrugged. “I’m a chaos god, everything I do is legit. I have no use for mortal’s artificial magic.” He said with disgust. “That and I wasn’t thinking about it.”
Then. A loud thundering noise echoed through the cave, causing everyone to get up and put up their guard. But here comes ash carrying a stupidly large tapestry and Jo carrying Carter like a baby. How were they making so much noise????
“Ok good, we all found each other and someone isn’t trying to get through rocks like an idiot.” Ash said in relief.
“How did you know about the illusion?” Cj asked. Ash raised his eyebrow, “what illusion? The freaking flier made a map. It’s stupid simple but it works I guess.” He replied.
So... this was so freaking long.

In Marvel’s What If…? episode 4, Doctor Strange absorbs mystical inter-dimensional monsters to gain their powers in an ill-fated quest for control – but who or what are these mystical creatures? Rather than small changes to the timeline or switching roles between heroes, What If…? takes its darkest turn yet by showing Stephen Strange losing not his hands, but Christine Palmer, the love of his life. Potentially foreshadowing events in Phase 4 of the MCU, this episode reveals what could happen if the Sorcerer Supreme insists on reversing an irreversible point in the timeline. And along the way, it leaves viewers with more than a couple Marvel Easter eggs.
Easily the biggest among them is O’Bengh, the keeper of Cagliostro’s books. After failing to stop Christine’s death, the Ancient One explains that her death is “an absolute point in time,” as it triggers Strange’s path towards being the Sorcerer Supreme and an Avenger. Defying these warnings, Doctor Strange travels to the Lost Library of Cagliostro for answers, and there he meets O’Bengh.
Related: The MCU Shows Loki Learned The Lesson Doctor Strange Didn’t
In the comics, O’Bengh is Cagliostro himself and an adversary of Doctor Strange. While O’Bengh seems harmless in What If…?, he allows Strange free access over dangerous knowledge and lets him summon and absorb mystic creatures in the Lost Library. After Strange fails to control his first monster, O’Bengh explains that “Mystic beings do not bargain,” indirectly suggesting a darker path. Whether or not O’Bengh is Cagliostro – which would explain why he let Strange go over the deep end – is just one of the many unanswered questions in episode 4 of What If…? Moreover, who or what are the beasts that Doctor Strange summoned and absorbed on his path to becoming Strange Supreme?
The first unfortunate creature in Strange’s path is a living garden gnome. He quickly and unceremoniously absorbs the monster. The gnome could be a reference to either Elseworlds or Asgard, or just the fact that fans have been known for painting garden gnomes as tiny versions of the Avengers and other Marvel characters.
Rather than absorbing the giant caped cockroach – remarking that he draws the line at bugs – Strange instead steals the creature’s cloak, which becomes this strange doctor’s Cloak of Levitation. While the bug is unfamiliar to Marvel comics fans, others have noticed that the creature bears a striking resemblance to the noble cockroach Kyouhukou, which appeared in the anime series Overlord.
While the giant bird with six eyes and blue flames does bear a resemblance to the Phoenix Force, which possessed mutant telepath Jean Grey, it’s highly unlikely that they are one and the same. If Strange manages to summon the Phoenix Force, it would most likely happen further down the menagerie, rather than right after the comic relief. That being said, absorbing this mystic bird is Strange Supreme’s first real taste of vampiric power.
Related: Evil Doctor Strange Is A Scarlet Witch Power Warning
The massive red dragon that Strange summons to the circle could be Shou-Lao the Undying, an immortal dragon from the comics which Iron Fist had to defeat to complete his final test. There’s a chance that this could foreshadow Phase 4 of the MCU bringing Iron Fist back into the fray.
Although the two-headed ram with glowing green eyes and mouths doesn’t appear in the comics, it could symbolize one of Marvel’s Heliopolitans, Atum, also known as the supreme Egyptian god Amon-Ra. In ancient sculptures, Amon-Ra is often represented as a two-headed ram, and is known as a protector.
The flying, caped, and glowing green skull attached to an unnamed sorcerer’s body is quickly absorbed as it attempts to attack Strange Supreme. Old Marvel comics fans have remarked that this creature is reminiscent of Suma-Ket of the Unforgiven Dead, an old nemesis of Namor the Sub-Mariner. And it could foreshadow the potential involvement of Namor in Black Panther 2.
Related: Marvel Just Showed How The Ancient One Can Return In Doctor Strange 2
This creature might be a reference to Jimmy Santini, also known as Batwing, an enemy of Spider-Man. The character first appeared in Untold Tales of Spider-Man. After absorbing the creature, Strange overhears The Watcher weighing the consequences of intervening with his dark path – his first and last warning.
Ignoring The Watcher’s warnings, Strange Supreme goes on to summon more mystic beings to absorb. This includes a moose spirit, which could be a reference to Oranah, also known as The Stag God, who appeared in Marvel’s Savage Sword of Conan comics.
This serpent is also reminiscent of Shou-Lao the Undying. However, the creature also looks very similar to the dragon that escaped Muspelheim and tried to attack Thor during the crazy opening of Thor: Ragnarok.
Related: Why Doctor Strange’s Car Crash Isn’t His Absolute Point In Time
The wolf with a blue flame above its head is possibly a reference to the Capcom video game character Okami Amaterasu, which is based on the Japanese celestial sun goddess Amaterasu. It wouldn’t be that strange, as Okami is a playable character on both Marvel vs. Capcom 3: Fate of Two Worlds and Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3.
The snake could represent Fu-Hsi, the King of the Vipers from Marvel Premiere Comics. It could also be Set from Conan the Barbarian, or even the demon Sligguth, whom Strange has faced in the comics.
Strange also summons a number of demons which appear to be from the Dark Dimension, which explains why some of them resemble Dormammu from the Doctor Strange movie. This could also be a reference to Marvel’s Lovecraftian Old Gods, which perfectly sets up the last creature.
Bearing a resemblance to Red Skull’s Tesseract monster from What If…? episode 1, the tentacle monster is actually the first mystic being that Doctor Strange summons in episode 4. But while it overpowers him during their first encounter, Strange is more than ready to absorb the mystic being the second time around, which almost completes his transformation as Strange Supreme. As fans have theorized, this monster could be Shuma-Gorath, an eldritch god whose reality-altering powers are congruent with what Strange Supreme aspired – yet ultimately failed – to accomplish.

A Guide to ‘Celestial Keepers’ by Around The Fire
~By Billy Goate~
This week, we are unveiling a sequel to our compilation Doomed & Stoned in Hellas. Among the outstanding Greecian bands we featured in the first volume was AROUND THE FIRE.
This year, the Thessaloniki-based doom and space rock collective released a remarkable album called 'Celestial Keepers' (2021). Subsequently, we reintroduced them to you in Season 7, Episode 4 of The Doomed & Stoned Show.
Like their fellows in Villagers of Ioannina City, Around The Fire are known to incorporate traditional instrumentation of the Eastern Medditeranean region, such as the kemençe (a stringed wooden instrument played with a longbow, native to the Black Sea).
I followed up with the group, who last tallied consisted of members Angelos (bass, vox), Argyris (drums, vox), Kostas (guitar), Jacob (guitar), Thomas (kemenje, guitar), and Chris (kemenje), to see if they'd give us a guided tour of the six-song epic. They happily obliged.
What is the thematic thrust of your new record?
Our second release "Celestial Keepers" is in reality an invocation towards the celestial providence and its emissaries, who in their own right will bring order unto our planet Gaia by subduing every shadowy entity that forcefully acts against every sentient being, and in contrast to the universal laws of the cosmos that define our andromedan goal. Our lyrics, just like our music, are a sort of resonating prayer, a pulse towards like-minded individuals whose eternal flame burns brightly and everyone is open to accept the transcendent purpose of a spiritual message that promotes freedom as the most important possession across and through the edges of our universe and past the void.
Around The Fire kemenje player Thomas
There certainly is a focus on esoteric and otherworldly concepts throughout. Would you be willing to walk through 'Celestial Keepers,' track-by-track?
Throughout our music we honor different cultures beliefs and spiritual teachings and try to let them speak to us their message and fuel our inner flame. Many times you will see, read about or hear and feel the resonating power of simple words, beliefs and ancient knowledge, whose meaning transcends time and space.
I. Kau Ano Meha
Celestial Keepers by Around the Fire
Release us from the Earthly chain Through the void travels time and space
Kau Ano Meha means “Standing-alone-and-sacred” and it is one of the names the Polynesians gave to the Sirius Constellation. It is a realization of current affairs and an invocation to our Celestial Brethren so that with their help we can sail freely through the stars once more, devoid of fear.
II. Astral Edifier
Celestial Keepers by Around the Fire
Within us burns The eternal flame The light that guides the cosmos
Astral Edifier is an invocation to our celestial teacher “Uranieh Dahskahleh” means “Astral Edifier” in Greek. We call upon the eternal light, that which fuels the flame, so that it gives us strength to fight on.
III. Awakening
Celestial Keepers by Around the Fire
We are the sons Of the eternal flame Brothers and sisters calling From deep within the stars Their light to us is holy And burns the darkness past
Awakening is a call unto our brothers and sisters throughout the universe regarding the cleansing light that burns within and comes from beyond to release us from the shackles of fear, which is the single most terrifying disease to strike any living being on Gaia.
IV. Ubdi
Celestial Keepers by Around the Fire
Our power is eternal Forged within the stars Our light is forever Travels through the skies
Ubdi is our light. Our light is timeless and traverses time and space into eternity, neverending and ever expanding. Realizing that our inner light is part of this never ending voyage gives us strength so that we do not yield and stay strong in order to keep the fire burning as a beacon for our brothers and sisters to see and focus upon.
V. Lights in The Sky
Celestial Keepers by Around the Fire
From ancient Summer to Pangaeon and the plains of Nazca From Giza to the Easter Islands and Teotihuacan From Down Under to the Stonehenge The knew this glorious day was about to come
The lights in the sky mark the time of homecoming. It is the moment those who have given us the light return to redeem the world from those who cast a dark shadow upon it. Upon the knowledge of civilizations ancient that before our time had knowledge over the cosmos we only recently came to realize with our modern technology. The lights in the sky will come to remind us that our light is everlasting and that nothing really dies, only returns to the source and unites with every kindred spirit it is connected with.
VI. Echoes of Oblivion
Celestial Keepers by Around the Fire
Our journey through the cosmos begun aeons ago And still we seek the light Our home we long to find Sailing through an endless sea of lights eternal
Oblivion is a reminder. It reminds us that we should not forget where we came from when seeking enlightenment , or we will lose our way and in the end, Oblivion will get the best of us, and the shadows of fear will engulf us, so that our flame grows dim and eventually completely fades.

The Woman who fell in Love with the Stars - Chapter 1 - And to You, the Stars
Chapters: 1 [2] [3] [4] [5]
Summary: You stared wistfully towards the night sky. You had loved the stars ever since you were small. They held all sorts of secrets and wonderful mysteries you could not even begin to fathom. At least, until the Doctor had whisked you away to see them. You still could hardly articulate how much the stars intrigued you, their glow blurred through the Earth's atmosphere. The Doctor showed you the wonders of the universe, gave you a taste of magnificent splendor.
The Doctor was many things. She was a traveler, a Time Lord, and a keeper of secrets. To some, she was like a flame, warm and inviting. To others, she cut like ice. And to you? To you, she was the stars.
A/n: this one’s got angst!
The Doctor stood frozen as your lips were pressed against hers. This was something she hadn’t been expecting. She supposed a lot of your recent actions had begun to make sense now, all the stolen glances, the lingering touches, rosy cheeks. She was an idiot for not connecting the dots sooner. As you pulled away your eyelids fluttered open, anxious orbs searching her face, teeth pulling fitfully at your bottom lip. She recalled how you had been the past few weeks: always a touch closer than usual, a bit more nervous in her presence.
Maybe Donna had been right all those years ago. She really was thick.
The Doctor felt her hearts race—but she remembered all the people before. This was how she felt when she was with Rose. How she felt when she was with River. Could she really accept these feelings? Accept the heartbreak that was going to come with them? Accept that as long as she cared for you and let you travel with her, you would be in the most danger you could possibly be in?
The Doctor became scared. Scared of her emotions, scared of her past, scared of the future.
So, she did the only thing she knew how to do.
She ran.
You found yourself dumped at your flat, a promise to pick you up later given only from Yaz. The Doctor had remained silent. The TARDIS doors slammed shut.
It had been three weeks since you had last seen the Time Lord.
You had started cooping yourself up since the end of the first week. You had most definitely seen Yaz and Ryan around in passing but had never managed to catch either for a quick exchange to see if they had seen the Doctor. It became unnecessary once you saw them out your window late one night running towards the fantastic blue box, the telltale sound of the TARDIS starting as soon as the door slammed shut behind them. The Doctor had not been waiting for you.
You padded over to your bed, falling across the mattress and face-planting onto your pillow. You laid nearly motionless, a few blinks away from passing out. You only rose from the bed two hours later, peeling your face away from a damp pillow.
————
You spent countless hours staring at the posters in your room. Foreign planets, solar systems, stars, and galaxies lined your walls. Some you had ever since you were a child, others were definitely newer as more were discovered. You glanced at the telescope you kept stored in the corner of your room. Ever since you were a child, you were completely obsessed with the stars. Your parents would tell you and the guests you brought over (much to your embarrassment and sometimes abject horror in your later years) the fantastical stories you would come up with as a child about being a space traveler—able to jump between the stars.
A humorless chuckle parted your lips as you reminisced.
Jump between the stars, indeed.
A sigh swelled and deflated your chest. Your eyes traced over the celestial figures taped to your wall, one poster, in particular, standing out. A mass of reds and blues and greens. The gaseous form had never failed to catch your eye. The Orion Nebula. Out of all of the extraterrestrial forms that grabbed your attention, nothing did it more than the Orion Nebula. You had no idea why, but the nebulous cocoon fascinated you.
Maybe it was how the stars were unattainable. You had always believed that you could only reach them through a telescope until the Doctor gathered you in her arms and let you walk amongst the stars. She let you touch what was only to be looked at through glass and hundreds of light-years away. An invisible barrier that was not meant to be breached.
The Doctor was many things. She was a traveler, a Time Lord, and a keeper of secrets. To some, she was like a flame, warm and inviting. To others, she cut like ice. But to you? To you, she was the stars.
You fell backward onto your bed, softly bouncing upon impact.
What you wouldn’t give to jump between the stars again. What you wouldn’t give to be with the woman who was the stars.
Was the woman you thought to be the stars to be as unattainable as you thought the stars were as well?
The TARDIS let you reach out to the stars.
But would the stars ever reach out to you?
————
Around the second week of solitude, Yaz had stopped by. She had hesitated in front of your door before knocking, unsure of what to say. You had a stagnant conversation over tea.
You sipped your tea quietly, waiting for your best friend to speak.
“So...” Yaz hesitated, “How have you been?”
Your eyes never left Yasmin. She was obviously uncomfortable.
“Fine. You?” You tersely replied.
“Good. I’m good.”
Silence engulfed the room.
“How has work been?”
“The same. Exactly the same as always.”
“I see.”
Another pause.
“Have anything going on this weekend?”
“No.”
Yaz’s eyes flicked between her cooling beverage and your eyes, nervousness intertwined with an unreadable expression on her face.
“See anything good on telly?”
Yaz spoke carefully, like stepping over broken glass. You could tell she was purposefully avoiding talking about the Time Lord. You insisted there was no need for her to check up on you, you were fine, and most certainly weren’t broken. You had shown her out the door with a clipped tone.
After Yasmin departed you sat back down at your dining table, staring at your now cold, half-filled cup of tea. Your mind raced with the quick glances Yaz cast between her cup and your face, eyebrows scrunched and a hesitant tongue.
You let out a shaky breath as you planted your elbows on the table, head rested in your hands. You were fine.
The Doctor had not been waiting for you. The Doctor wasn’t going to wait for you.
The stars never reached out to others. The stars were to be admired from afar.
A lone droplet made its way down your cheek.
You were fine.
————
Nearly three days passed after Yaz visited your flat that it really hit you. You supposed before was just a numb sort of denial, but Yaz sitting in front of you must have slapped whatever part of your brain that was responsible for the numbness awake. Why had the Doctor left you? Why did she drop you in front of your doorstep without so much as a goodbye? You thought that you had calculated correctly. Even if the Doctor didn’t return your feelings, you thought she would at worst graciously let you down then continue on as if it never happened.
The stars were many things, but they were never intentionally cruel.
They just were. Higher than anything else, conflict was beneath them.
You set the kettle on the stove as you turned up the flame, racking your brain for the potential cause of your exile from the Doctor’s presence. Your mind flitted to a planet you had visited months ago.
You had saved the royalty from a plot to scandalize them. As thanks, they threw a ball and insisted on extending your stay another night. There had been a large banquet. The amazing visual spectacle of otherworldly food, customs, dances, and clothes enamored you. The princess has insisted on dancing a few songs with the Doctor and you had thought the Doctor’s rapidly filling dance card was merely a show of thanks in the customs of the alien race.
The sharp whistle of the kettle broke you out of your thoughts temporarily, removing the boiling water from the stove to pour yourself a cup of tea. Your mind was once again with the thought of the ball. A frown tugged at your lips once you remembered stepping out onto the terrace for a quick breath of fresh air.
You had seen the back of the Doctor’s head across a few potted bushes and had eagerly stepped towards her in hopes of asking for a dance before you left. Just as you opened your mouth to call out to the Time Lord you heard the voice of the princess, causing your mouth to quickly snap shut as you hid behind a wall. You vividly remembered the twist in your stomach as the princess started flirting with the Doctor, coy phrases thrown her way. You still felt the clench of your gut when the princess had out-right declared her affections towards the Doctor, asking for her to stay and permission to court her.
The stars are never asked to be wooed. They are chased after with no hope of ever catching them in your arms.
You had quietly slipped away, hearing a soft murmur of an answer from the blonde alien. You couldn’t make out the words but the tone of voice led you to believe (along with the lack of the princess traveling with you when you left) that the Doctor had rejected her politely. Despite the rivalry for the Time Lord’s affections, your heart ached for the princess.
You quickly gulped down your tea.
You were an idiot. A massive, colossal, monumental idiot. Fresh tears spilled over your cheeks. She had the entire universe at her feet, all of space and time to choose from. She was the stars.
Why would she choose you?
————
You spent the following four days locked inside your flat when you weren’t at work. Yaz had stopped by regularly, knocking at your door the same time every day after her shift, like clockwork. You explicitly ignored the door. You couldn’t figure out if Yaz had felt bad about the Doctor’s actions or if it was something else. You didn’t particularly care to know, and you much preferred to wallow in peace.
On the fifth day of your self-insured solitude, the anger came.
You slammed the door behind you harshly when you returned from work that night, nearly missing the bowl you stored your keys in as you stomp towards the kitchen, the sharp metallic notes bouncing off the walls of your flat. Your teeth grit as you yanked the fridge door open, looking for ingredients to make dinner. You growled in frustration at the lack of food, kicking the door, fridge door banging shut. You pulled a takeaway menu from a drawer, your corse movements causing a pen to clatter noisily to the floor. You dialed up your usual Chinese restaurant, the phone static and long dial tone grated on your nerves. As the man on the other end picked up the phone you plastered a false smile to your face, scraping up enough civility to refrain from shouting over the phone. Once the bag was delivered you plopped down on the couch in front of the television screen, eating noodles straight out of the container.
After you finished your meal you threw the paper takeaway box and disposable chopsticks into the bin. You headed directly to the shower, cranking the temperature up to a nearly scalding degree. Stepping out of the washroom you pulled a small towel with you to rub at your hair. Mood slightly tempered, you run the towel over your hair as you padded into your bedroom. Your eyes flitted to a scrape on your wall, the scratch caused by the alien when she was running about your room looking for something to use as part of some sort of complex device she was throwing together. Some sort of “timey-wimey detector” by her definition. The scratch was etched into the wall just beneath one of your many posters of the Orion Nebula.
The anger rushed back.
You glared intently at the spot, stepping closer.
The bottled-up resentment exploded, physically manifesting in a violent punch to the wall. The loud thud was followed shortly by a loud string of curses. You cradled your bleeding fist. It hurt—you thought numbly.
Good.
You exited your room to find your first aid kit to clean and wrap your hand.
————
The following day you gave into Yaz’s insistent knocking, opening the door to find Yasmin’s eyes wide with surprise, her arms and legs in a position indicating she was about to forcefully ram the door open. You sighed, leaving the door open behind you as you turned around to walk back into the kitchen, turning on the gas to boil a kettle of water.
“Tea?”
“Ah, if you’ve got the kettle on then please.” Yaz shifted nervously at the mouth of the kitchen.
The two of you stood in silence as you waited for the whistle of the kettle. Once the shrill noise started you turned off the gas and poured out two cups. You offered a ceramic cup to Yaz who took it gratefully, a soft “thanks” leaving her lips. You led her to the table and sat down, waiting for her explanation.
Yaz sucked in a breath, “I want to start off by apologizing,” the Pakistani woman fiddled with her fingers. “I know it won’t be enough for what happened, but I’d like to anyway. I didn’t think that the Doc would just leave you here and not explain anything. I thought she had talked with you or something had happened. I couldn’t imagine the Doc wanted you to leave.”
You slammed your mug down, the harsh sound of ceramic on wood made Yaz flinch. “Wanted? The Doctor kicked me out without so much as a goodbye!”
Yaz held her hands up attempting to backtrack, “I just meant that before she seemed pretty attached to you. I honestly thought that if you weren’t coming it would have had to have been your own decision—which I found odd since you love traveling with the Doc. I tried asking her about it but...” Yaz bit her lip, “I guess when I pieced it all together was her total avoidance of the topic.”
You fell back against the backing of the chair. The Doctor refused to even talk about you. A sigh passed your lips. Well, if the message wasn’t clear enough from the Doctor shunning you like you were some personified form of the plague, her refusal of admitting to your existence did the job quite nicely.
“I don’t know what happened, but if there’s been some sort of misunderstanding between you two, at least let me help,” Yaz’s worried eyes flickered across your face, “You’re my best friend, I don’t want to see you upset because of this.”
A dry chuckle left your lips, “Trust me, the only misunderstanding was entirely my fault. I made a miscalculated decision. I obviously read the signs wrong.”
Yaz’s eyebrows scrunched in confusion, “What’d you mean?”
You bit at the inside of your cheek, “Nothing. It’s unimportant.”
A frown made its way onto Yaz’s lips, “Unimportant? My best friend locks herself away for days on end and you say it’s unimportant?” Yaz suddenly stood up, chair legs scraping harshly against the floor, “I don’t care what anybody says—I don’t care if the bloody Queen says it’s unimportant—but if you’re feeling so upset that you won’t even let me into your flat for nearly three and a half bloody weeks then nothing regarding it is unimportant!” Yasmin breathed heavily, her arms trembling now on the table from where she slammed her hands down. “Nothing about you is unimportant,” she added softly.
You sat in shock at the forcefulness of Yaz’s words. You knew she cared deeply for you, as you did her, but that was on a different level. You grimaced as you mulled over your actions over the past few weeks. True, you were mad, but it was no justification for shutting your best friend out entirely.
You sighed as you pinched the crease between your eyebrows with your hand. You were acting like a total twat to Yaz when this wasn’t even her fault.
“What happened to your hand?”
You looked up, your confused irises making a connection with Yasmin’s concerned-slash-alarmed ones. You glanced down at your hand, realizing it was the one you did a poor job wrapping up the past night.
You waved it off, “It’s fine, just a scratch. Really. It’s—” you cut yourself off, the word ‘unimportant’ on the tip of your tongue, “fine. I’m good.”
The frown on Yaz’s lips returned as she walked around the side of the table and kneeled in front of you, taking your injured hand gingerly between her’s. She carefully unwrapped the haphazardly applied bandaging, causing a low hiss to escape your clenched teeth.
“Not fine,” Yaz mumbled.
“Trust me, the wall had it worse.” You attempted to joke, wincing as she turned the joint of your wrist in her hand.
“That doesn’t make it any better.” Yaz glanced up to your face, grimace present, before going back to inspect the wound. “The joint doesn’t seem too damaged but it needs ice. I’ll help you clean up and wrap the scrape.”
“Yaz, really, I’m good,” you fumbled as she stood up, “you don’t need to—“
“I want to. Now let me help or I’m going to tie you down if I have to and properly wrap it.” Yaz squinted, challenging you to retaliate.
You let out a squeak but shut your mouth, conceding. You watched Yaz leave the room to fetch the first aid kit you kept in the bathroom cupboard. You could hear the shuffling and the muffled “ah-ha” once Yaz must have found it.
Her head swung out from around the corner, raising an expectant eyebrow at you. You nearly raised one back in question, earning you a long-suffering sigh.
Yaz pulled you by the arm towards the bathroom, rolled up your sleeve and turned on the tap. She felt the running water until it was at a suitable temperature then brought your hand to rest beneath it. You hissed at the warm water, the wound still open and stinging.
Your eyes flitted towards Yaz’s face, her concentrated yet soft expression catching you by surprise. You felt her thumbs carefully brush over the skin of your knuckles.
“You need to be more careful, I don’t want to see you get hurt.” Yaz opened a bottle of antibiotic cream and rubbed it gently over the torn skin.
You bit your tongue to prevent another long hiss from escaping your mouth. “A bit late for that.” Not quite enough to bite back a remark, however.
Yaz’s eyes flicked up to your eyes momentarily, quickly going back to dressing your hand, pulling out the gauze. “Then tell me what happened. If there’s anything I can do to help I’ll do it.” You opened your mouth and before you got a single word out Yaz cut in, “Not about the wall. You know what I was talking about.”
You couldn’t prevent the lopsided half-grin that edged its way into your face for an instant. Yaz always knew when you were about to dodge a question. She was always so keen at picking things up when she was around you. “Well, I suppose that attempt has been thwarted.” Your smile fell as you remembered what landed you in this situation in the first place. “Ahhh, how to start this… I guess I should start at the beginning. So you remember when we went to the Orion Nebula? That was—”
“When you first realized you fancied the Doctor?” Yaz finished your sentence.
Your eyes widened in alarm, your surprise quickly brushing off how her voice, for a split second, sounded rather forced.
“How did…”
“Trust me, everybody else noticed it except for her.” Yasmin didn’t look up at your eyes that time, hers glued to the bandage she was slowly wrapping.
You let out the breath you were holding. “Then I guess I don’t need to explain that bit.” You bit your lip as you carefully chose which words to proceed with. “I sort of confessed to her.”
The bandage abruptly tightened around your wrist, causing a sharp cuss to be drawn from your lips.
“Sorry! Sorry! I didn’t mean to do that! That caught me by surprise.” Yaz loosened the fabric before going back to tie it properly. “So you confessed,” her voice rose a pitch at the first syllable before dropping to her usual octave, “That’s exciting. How did she respond?”
A forceful smile that more closely resembled a grimace pulled tightly on your lips. “I was thrown out of the TARDIS.”
Yaz’s hands stopped moving.
“Yaz?”
Yasmin was completely still. “I’m sorry, she what?”
You hesitated, not sure what the tone Yaz was using meant. “She threw me out of the TARDIS.” You annunciated each word carefully.
Yaz resumed wrapping your bandage, securing the loose end so it wouldn’t unwind. As soon as she tugged a few times to make sure it was properly on, Yasmin stood up and turned to walk out the door. “Right, then if you’ll excuse me I have some business to take care of.”
Your eyes widened in alarm, “Yaz it’s fine, you don’t need to talk to her about it!”
“It’s not fine!” Yaz wheeled around, anger and something you couldn’t quite place reflected back in her eyes, “You’ve been depressed and angry and I don’t know what else, but this is not fine! She can’t just kick you out because you happen to like her! You’re worth more than that!” Yaz’s fists tightened, “You aren’t just some person she can brush aside.”
“Yaz, really, please don’t talk to her about this. I’m sure she just wants a bit of space and it’ll be alright.” You forced a smile on your face. “It’ll be alright in the end. I’m sure she just wants a bit of space.”
You weren’t sure who you were trying to convince.
Your best friend worried at her lip. She eventually sighed, giving in, “If it’s what you want, then I’ll listen.” Yaz’s eyes flicked over your face, “Would it make you feel better if I stopped traveling with her too?”
“What?”
Yaz let out a huff, “I just thought that you must be feeling left out from everything she takes us to do. If it would make you feel better I could sit out of the next few and stay with you.”
You shook your head quickly, “No! Please don’t on my account.”
Yaz inspected your face.
“Really, Yaz. Actually…” you paused, “if you could just tell me what adventures you’ve gone on while I wasn’t with you would be good. I miss it.” You fiddled with your fingers. “Just describing it and all that would be enough.”
Tell me about the stars.
Yasmin eyed you critically before relenting, “Alright then. But if you have second thoughts, I won’t hesitate to give the Doc a piece of my mind on the matter.”
A small smile made its way onto your mouth, “I don’t doubt it. Our tea has gone cold, let me pour out a new cup and you tell me what you’ve been up to.”
Yaz shook her head as a small grin etched its way onto her face, following you into the kitchen. “You win. So the first place we went to was this weird planet with an enormous bird that looked like a dodo that tried dressing up for some sort of alien disco…”
And for the first time in nearly four weeks, everything was unequivocally, indisputably, incontrovertibly fine.

Equinox Gateway ~ Balanced Polarities, Restructure Our Inner and Outer Lives
Equinox Gateway ~ Balanced Polarities, Restructure Our Inner and Outer Lives
By Meg Benedicte
The Equinox Gateway reaches peak momentum at 0 degree Libra on September 22nd. Not only does the Equinox launch the month of Libra, it starts a new season. Libra is the sign of justice, symbolized by balancing scales, emphasizing more harmony and balanced polarities.
It is a day out of time…when day and night are equal length. It is a sacred moment when all stand equal in the balance of opposites. While the Equinox Gateway is open we will focus on balancing opposing forces within our being and in our world reality.
The Equinox occurs the moment the Sun crosses the celestial equator, equal distance between north and south poles. It is the balance point between light and dark. While we pass through these heightened threshold moments, you may feel super-sensitive to the charged energies involved. The seams between dimensions stretch and open, allowing more access to the higher realms.
During 2020 there is a sense of restructuring occurring on all levels of life. Since the March Equinox, there has been massive decomposition of past timelines, outdated ancestral codes and patterns, and traumatic beliefs/emotions. 2020 is the year to deconstruct all toxic operating systems that no longer sustain the greater good.
As we begin to restructure our inner and outer lives, there rises a surge to regain balance. The Tao symbol exemplifies the holistic union of yin/yang, the swirling interaction of equal forces. We have been living in a left brain-dominated society, driven by intellect, aggression and ambition. During the 2000’s we will see more right brain-feminine qualities develop in society.
There are increasing signs of increasing compassion and empathy for all life on the planet. Instead of using effort to acquire, we are becoming more open and receptive to an abundant flow of support. Our hearts are expanding to receive infinite love. We are restructuring at the molecular level to embody divine Soul presence.
The Tao symbol represents the holistic balance of yin/yang…the swirling blend of masculine and feminine in a dance of Oneness. The human race is rapidly evolving into crystalline beings of wholeness. During the Equinox Gateway we will join the dance and balance all aspects of Self in unity consciousness.
Join other Earth Keepers, Gridworkers and Star Beings all around the world as we gather for Equinox Gateway Global Activations on Tuesday, September 22nd. The show is recorded for replay. If you would like to participate, register here: https://newearthcentral.com/?p=220831
Lovingly,
Meg

Past to Present of the Life of Seraphina Pitchiner
This is the established timeline of my Canon Divergence that has been created over time since 2012. There are many events that divert from canon but have some events that still point to what happened in the books (separate from Jack’s book... I’ve yet to read it).
The people tagged have been part of this story and it’s development as well. It does leave room for canon and original lore of others. Her perspectives and experiences are separate, and I hope you enjoy this read.
It answers how Seraphina became a Titan of Earth, and part of the energies of its very threads, and a bit about what she is because of the past choices, who she was, and what she will be. An individual who is focused on Balance and is herself Grey in a world of Light and Dark.
Golden Age
Birth- Born under Pisces to General Kozmotis Pitchiner @piratekingpitchblack and Lady Luthien Dorremacea and given the name Seraphina Dorremacea Pitchiner
Age 0-6- Early childhood with her family in Orion’s belt
Age 6- Tragedy on Orion’s Belt- Seraphina lost, Luthien dies, Kozmotis loses his love and light
Age 6-7 - drifts in star skiff for an undetermined amount of time from Orion’s Belt to Argo where she is taken in by the elder Constellation Titan, Typhan
Age 7-14 - under the protection and tutelage of Typhan, hopeful that her family will find her again. Typhan is able to identify the Celestial blood in her veins, helps her develop powers of controlling the Cosmic Winds. Teaches her about the ascension of Titans. Sets in her mind the goal of becoming a Titan. She fosters a disposition of bitterness towards the Golden Empire and her father, thinking that they have stopped looking for her. Typhan’s manipulations succeed in keeping his protege with him and not leaving.
Age 14- A vessel is spotted, Sera is hopeful it maybe her father's ship. Typhan points out that Kozmotis and the Empire stopped looking ages ago. Sera comes to a realization that he’s been hiding her from them. He does not deny it, claiming she is his child, his possession. Sera’s pent up anger and rage are unleased in a catastrophic Cosmic Storm. The passenger's vessel is destroyed and Typhan becomes imprisoned in a shell of the home he had built for Sera. She flees, in anguish.
Age 14-15 Travels back to the Golden Empire, gains a little Star Fox as a companion and is determined to find her father. When she arrives she meets the Captain of the Gaurd Noah @acopyoflight . She is made a ward of the Tsar and Tsarina.
Age 15-20 gains an education in the Empire and joins the Star Pilot Academy. Graduates from the Academy and becomes a Star Explorer. During that time she becomes close friends with Hevel of Sextans @lordsextans, Princess Ariana of Aries @warrior-princess-aries, and Noah @acopyoflight. Hevel develops and builds Sera’s Star Ship. Sera fuses with a comatose star as the ritual of the Pilots.
Age 20-23 Balances life as an Explorer and a member of the Council. Has a partnership with the Hunter Pilot Theo, develops a unique relationship with the Singularity Lord Nero @lorddevourer. Visits Typhan’s prison to find the tombs of knowledge he had eluded to her having when she was ready. Lots of crazy things happen that have Sera making progress towards becoming a Titan, politics, and other juicy things. Sera uncovers a piece of her Heritage pointing to her Mother as a Keeper of the Trees. This becomes a goal of hers to find and understand.
Age 23-26 Leaves the Empire after deciding she has reached a crossroads, pursue her goals and change the Empire herself, or stay and let things be as they have. She is joined by other Pilots in support of her, they leave the Empire. They come across the Nightmare Galleon, the pilots perish, and in an attempt to take out the Galleon Sera collides her ship with it. Sera effectively becomes apart of the crew with @piratekingpitchblack and more complex things happen that lead to stars being consumed, artifacts found, and secrets unraveled about the Keeper of the Trees. Typhan awakens as she gains energy from the stars consumed he too siphons some of this force from her. He becomes a problem, a big problem. Manipulates Sera to try and pull the shadows from the Nightmare King, that backfires poorly and she flees.
Age 26 Typhan and Sera clash as she seeks to find the Keeper of the Trees. The stars she has consumed are not balanced well and cause great discomfort and literally tearing her apart at the molecules, breaking her down. Typhan decimates her, with energy restored to a greater strength he strips the stars from her she consumed. All but one, a volatile one, the one she fused with as a Pilot. It has not been able to grow as it needed because the older ones she held sucked most room up, and it began to pull at their energies, pulling it to them. Creating a supernova and imminent death. Typhan leaves the obliterated ship and pilot to die. In those moments close to death she is found by unfamiliar beings. They stabilize her condition, but she is mortally wounded and her star is still at risk of a supernova. They bring her to the Cosmic World Tree, a place that can only be found when you are truly lost with no direction. In her state, they briefly teach her that she is the Scion of their Keeper, Luthien, her mother, whom they lost before her time. She was to be the guardian of the new Tree, as the old is dying and plagued by shadow. How they have found her though is not ideal, death is inevitable and soon to come. The Ancient Titan has seen their actions and will seek to obliterate her further, and them in the process. Mutual agreement, though concerning, is to have the World Seed germinate with her dying star, and life and death balance... hopefully. Sera dies as the seed germinates, finding purchase in the core of the star. Typhan finds the Keepers and the World Tree and burns it entirely. The Seed Pod is flung across the cosmos and Seraphina Pitchiner disappears from all existence.
This star-like pod is what Sandy finds and sails, connecting to a disembodied consciousness that is Sera.
Highlights of the 4.5 billion years of Earth
The Seed Pod collides with a distant planet with a black burning, gaseous rock.
The Seed Pod explodes and the energies of both the Pod and the dying Planet clash. Their primordial energies clashing fiercely, violently, catastrophically.
The planet shapes over time, with or without outside help these energies are not aware. Their clash creates friction and new energies, a new entity is developed and creates a sea that tempers the flame and disaster of the Gold and Red.
The Primordial Energies all develop into Primordial Titans; Earth, Destruction, and Sea. Earth and Destruction violently clash and the Sea grabs each and flings them violently away from each other. Earth is drug to the seafloor and Destruction buried under a mountain.
Together Sea and Earth begin to experiment with odd life forms in the sea. All three Titans begin to develop an identity and self during this time.
When life in the sea begins to get complex Earth leaves, taking what is known from that time onto the dry land.
Earth creates, and Destruction clashes again with her. He is ravenous primal rage, but so is she.
Ages span again, Earth becomes Gaia, Destruction becomes Ru Udai, and Sea becomes Levyathan.
Complex life is established, but the tides are imbalanced. Much life is lost repeatedly.
A moon appears in the sky and life stabilizes, a dark meteor crashes to Earth and wipes out life again.
The three Titans (in varying animal/beastial forms) contain this darkness deep into the crust of the planet.
Life stabilizes again, the cycles repeat. More stabilization is gained by the presence of the Moon. Gaia and Ru clash, and eventually Gaia establish herself as superior, she is the protecting ruling entity. Won by superior force, strength, and prowess. Ru makes his dominion in the volcanic systems beneath the crust, Levyathan the depths of the seas, and Gaia, a realm that is at the heart of thriving life and land. The Tree of Life sprouts, and in this lush landscape humanity begins to grow.
Civilization develops, gods, begin to surface, discord and fighting among the gods and Titans reign with conflict. Humans develop towards war and conquest. Disruptive is the way of life now.
Gaia pulls her realm back when humanity tries to overpower her with the gods, creating a pocket realm that is cut off from them and protects her tree. Creating an oasis and garden that will someday be the future of the world her way.
Atlantis rises to existence. Levyathan draws close to this civilization as a parent and guardian. The Atlantians rise in power and hubris, steal his giant, oracle eye and he disappears into the depths to recover from his wounds. When he awakens Atlantis is destroyed, all history lost. He sinks back to the depths and makes himself a haven away from humanity in his own pocket realm.
Ru thrives off the conflict of humanity rising and their conquest, volcano’s and disasters cause unstable environments and Gaia quiets him.
As the Titan’s quiet and pull away as Rome ascends, Gaia begins to recall an old identity as the Tree grows stronger. Seraphina.
Seraphina begins to emerge and explore the planet, learning of the different creatures, cycles, and realms. She makes alliances, establishes her power, and regains memories
More present events, the Core of Earth shakes and shudders. The memories pouring through Sera’s consciousness causing instability for the core and her own self. She finds connections to anchor her in others, and meets faces from an age so very long ago. She dwells in Shangri La, The Glen with her budding World Tree of Life.
Some she remembers well, others not. A pact (not sure what we refer to it right now) is formed between a unique visitor, Lord Nero @lorddevourer, friendships rekindled in Hevel and Ariana, new ones developed with Toothiana @flossinspector, and the world turns as it always does
The core of the Earth cracks and rumbles, a difficult period where both Seraphina and Nero realize the state of existence she holds, a death of a star held in stasis by a force of life determined to grow. A Singularity rests at the core of Earth, a revelation of what will be the future of the planet and of it’s Titan when it fully develops.
Typhan found Earth ages ago and has kept a keen eye on it. His interests lie in it’s Titan who persistently remains and finds that both interesting and useful. His sights also are aware of the Singularity King, and would rather separate the two indefinitely from each other.
The world turns as it does, more webs tied to this planet that it’s sovereign Titan desires, but it is her home, her shell, her work. A wish to change the cosmos, to have a world that balanced light and dark... oddly enough came to fruition. She has her goals in mind but prepares for the future in a much different way than she could have ever foreseen.
PS: image is the distance between little Orion and the MASSIVE broken Argo Constellation that she would of traversed.

Hunt across the Astral Plane
Continued from Here @lorddevourer
The battle beyond would need to be circumvented. A cloud of debris was heavy, churning in the growing tempest of the winds. She spoke words in the soft tongue of her kin, the creature that bore her slowed, it’s wings beating steadily as it hovered. Cerulean eyes studied the expanse before her, great was the distance to be crossed.
Attention was caught by a stark beacon of radiating starlight. This close to battle such a thing did not seem right. To have watched the endless expanse of space and the life it held for the time she possessed was a keen reminder. There were plenty of predators to lure prey or take advantage of an event as great as the battle in her path.
The Keeper closed her eyes, breathing in. Some of the winds listened to her command, flowing towards her and her steed. With them, they drew scent and taste. Taste of battle, blood, death, and predators.
She preferred to bypass obstacles if at all possible, to continue with the current further would preserve the energy of her mount. To detour so greatly would only lead to greater vulnerability.
A screeching pitch rippled into the emptiness of space as she fueled the creature beneath her. Her body lighting in a blue and white flame, seeping into the red fire of its. The avian flared, emboldened it stuck its wings and dove into the current. Cosmic winds flared the blue flames until they themselves nearly shone the white of celestial fire. Surging mount and rider forward faster than before.
To avoid the inevitable predator was a fool's thought, more likely was the event to outrun one.
