If I can ever recommend one thing to you, it is this:

I have several done years of RPing, and this has taken me to countless different forums and, if you are at all familiar with RP forums, let me tell you, they were the lowest of the low some six or seven years ago.

In one of these forums, a legendary tale happened, a tale that, if I can ever recommend one thing to you, it is this:

The Ballad of Edgardo.

A story that happened to an anonymous RPer years ago.

Anyone will be able to appreciate it (and trust me, you will), but if you are kinsmen or kinswomen to me, if you ever had to experience the shittiest of RP forums and their terrible userbases, particularly that one guy that does whatever he wants and is an asshole that clearly godmods but gets away with it because the actual mods don’t give a damn, you will find the beauty behind the ballad that much brighter.

Just trust me on this one. It’s not a particularly long read, either.

you know what really hurts? the fact that up till the end, Qiu Qingzhi was still trying to protect Li Bing.

Over here Yi Zhi Hua reveals that from the very beginning, Qiu Qingzhi's motivations had simply been to protect Li Bing. He never meant for Li Bing to turn into a half-cat.

Even in the letter to the Empress he gives all the credit to Li Bing to ensure that he still remains in the Empress's favour

most of the letter just lists the motivations and crimes of Yong'an Elders, and concludes with QQZ giving the credit to LB, from what I can tell (source: trust me do not in fact, trust me)

He enters the secret room before anyone else to get the stone on the dagger for Li Bing: the only medicine that can turn him back into a human.

I'm going to keep throwing random thoughts out about this because I was so excited to see these different and unique takes on a Playable Zelda in Tears of the Kingdom come to fruition and now it's just. dead in the water.

And part of what pisses me off is they didn't take down every totk and botw mod. I could actually understand it more if it was that, but no. Just the ones that make Zelda the main character. It feels almost spiteful.

They know people want her/wanted her to be playable, they didn't do it, and now they're refusing to let fans do it themselves.

What's (more likely) classist is writers thinking he needs to be taught right vs wrong from Bruce and co and that he consequently makes snap judgments out of some childish grudge-fueled rebellion which makes him dangerous the way a toddler holding a knife is dangerous

Yet Another Headcanon: My Master Kohga is not only a musician but a lyricist and poet—more artsy skills he learned from his mama and honed by reading tons of collected and preserved Yiga and ancient Sheikah documents and by hanging around with others in the Clan interested in that kinda stuff.

He is pretty dang good at the Yiga equivalent of haiku and tanka poetry, with syllable/sound-based structure and an emphasis on conveying small moments/feelings.* His particular favorite thing to do is to choose words and phrases with multiple meanings or opportunities for metaphor, that work together to get the theme/imagery across. And he can also do rhyming song lyrics, too.

He can rattle off simple stuff fairly easily if asked to on the fly, but also tries harder on more meaningful verse if the occasion arises. On the other hand, since he's Master Kohga and therefore an irreverent kinda guy, he's not above silly or raunchy subject matter.

For the Clan’s seasonal and event-based lil’ festivals/parties, the Master has been known to join in on reciting appropriately themed poems as well as playing newly-composed and/or improvised music (and old crowd favorites/traditional songs etc). He'll participate with others in the Yiga equivalent of renku collaborative spontaneous poetry at such occasions too, and have lots of fun coming up with the next couple lines in a community effort or with a response to 'beat' someone else's last verse, especially when the saké's been flowing.

If he's got a reason to write down anything he composes, he'll write it in Ancient Sheikah calligraphy (also tutored by mom) more often than modern Hylian. (But the Yiga's use of different scripts in their written language is a tangent to this post.) Anyway, artsy fella, is my bananaMaster.

(*They’re not exactly the same as those Earth Japanese forms, since Hyrule isn’t Japan of course despite the obvious influences especially in the Sheikah and Yiga cultures as presented in the games, but you know what I’m getting at I hope. The Yiga-original forms (which in turn have branched off from or carry on ancient Sheikah ones) do tend to use 5- and 7- syllable/sound lines, but not always in the 5-7-5 and 5-7-5-7-7 of haiku and tanka. For example one popular longer form goes 5-7-5-7-7-5-7-5-7-5.)
