The sleepovers probably are probably part of an "ancient tradition" that started pre-calamity between Zelda and Urbosa. When Zelda started getting on better with Link, they invited him too

Link and Riju (and sometimes Zelda) have a monthly sleepover in Gerudo Town where they do each others hair and makeup, and gush over all the cute animal photos Link has on the Sheikah Slate, and just get to be kids for once
