ok i know my opinions are unpopular but this is my blog i do what i want. for context i am a schlatt enjoyer! i do like his content and i #Believe in him so im not a complete hater, i just look at all my media with a critical lens unfortunately. i also still watched chuckle sandwich even thru the rough patches bc i put it on while i eat breakfast its habit at this point

chuckle sandwich used to be my favorite podcast so when it started going downhill (in my opinion) i started lowkey hating it lol. there have been some great newer episodes here and there but whenever i go back to rewatch an episode, it's almost always something from the first year or so of the pod.

charlie leaving was terrible for the podcast since it left the dynamic very unbalanced. that part isnt rlly in anyone's control except charlie's but i definitely found myself enjoying the episodes less when it was just ted and schlatt. charlie, schlatt, and ted had perfect chemistry as a trio but there have been some episodes w just ted and schlatt that were hard to get thru imo.

i also think schlatt has recently (within the last few years) become way too comfortable just sticking to his character and not adding anything new to it. if i listen to a weekly comedy podcast, i dont just want to listen to the same jokes in a slightly different font every time. i think he's much better on sleep deprived where he seems a little more authentic while still keeping up some running bits. on chuckle sandwich it started feeling like schlatt wasn't even friends with ted lmfao and it doesn't help when he would constantly joke abt hating the pod and getting wasted just to get thru it each week.

then ted gave tucker a mic and camera and while it is better than just having ted and schlatt talk in circles for an hour, tucker is literally just some guy and i didnt like how ted keeps shoehorning tucker into everything when he is supposed to be a "producer" not a third member (and the tucker haters fuck off meme got annoying REAL fast once tucker actually became a speaking member. it was rlly funny at first bc he didnt really say anything but now its just like i HAVE to like this random guy who just showed up one day) (speaking of him being a producer tf is he producing 90% of the episodes are over discord)

AND they stopped doing remote guest episodes which was an awful idea idk why they did that

and with schlatt seeming so miserable all the time now i just wanted him to quit and focus on his own content lmao like i could tell he knew the pod had overstayed its welcome and he desperately needs to lock in and re-evaluate some things

TLDR: schlatt seemed like he hated being on the podcast in recent years and i dont want to watch a podcast where someone is being held hostage to tell jokes once a week. i honestly expected it to end like a year ago or something. now that it's over we can have new, better content from schlatt (and ted.. and tucker i guess)

All the following screenshots were taken the same day as typing, and I made this post with what may be incomplete information. DO NOT HARASS ANYONE INVOLVED!! Something I noticed as I was adding alt txt.. I don't know anything about Jinx or how she assigns "Close Friends" on his Instagram, but basically users can assign someone as a "Close Friend" and you can then post stories only ppl within that group can see. If Jinx is the kind of person who hands out this status to anyone they know, this isn't a big deal, but if this person was close to Jinx I want you to keep in mind the possibility that this is potentially a violation of Jinx's boundaries. If this person knew Jinx closely, they could have talked to her in private, but instead they chose to make this a public affair. At best this could have been something the anonymous person genuinely thought was the moral thing to do, or this person could at worst be straight up an emotionally abusive person who shared these photos as a way to egg on Jinx's "downfall" or something similar. Again, this is only POTENTIALLY, but you need to be critical of who is sourcing your information and what their intentions are.

So the screenshots do prove Jinx knows Charlie and has been interacting with him and maybe (MAYBE) even dating him.. Which!! I just wanna clarify before you ask, I searched this up, Charlie and Grace broke up. Jinx and Charlie are both in their early to mid twenties. Aside from this controversy, there is really nothing to say abt them that isn't just, "mind your own business".

The claim is that Jinx, possibly, willingly engaged with someone who posted MCYT porn. Which the user states, "it wasn't my intention to present the examples of what that person posted as if u liked them" but then proceeds to reiterate again that "u have to go out of ur way to find an acc like that." so which is it? That's a rhetorical question, we know which it is because if it was the former people wouldn't be so mad. But at least we know where these initial claims came from so let me scroll back and see what this user had initially posted as proof.

So yes, this does prove Jinx followed an account that posted NSFW of Charlie (RPF) and Charlie's characters (MCYT). However, just following someone isn't necessarily proof you've seen the full extent of their content. So let's finally circle back around to Jinx's tweet in response to this (something that was quote tweeted earlier) and discuss why I have such an issue with this entire controversy. Hi everyone, apologises for taking a few days to address this as I've been logged off of twitter for my own mental health and due to the constant harassment and death threats that I have been receiving. Recently, there was a thread posted on me showing how I was following someone who created NSFW art of some content creators, specifically Charlie who I'm friends with. I absolutely condemn this kind of boundary-breaking NSFW art of content creators, and would never willingly follow or interact with an account that I knew created art like this. I am only semi-active on Twitter, especially on my 18+ account, and I was shocked and upset to discover I was following an account like this at the same time everyone else did. Because this account is now deactivated, I'm not sure what I originally followed them for, but it was likely COD or puppy girl art. I've privated my NSFW account as well because I'm not comfortable with a bunch of people who are likely minors in the community scrolling through it. Because people are making some gross assumptions as well I want to clarify that I met Charlie IRL, and had no idea who he or his friends were at all or as content creators before meeting them. We met naturally, became friends, and still are. Throughout this past week I've received an insane amount of harassment and threats, and have seen tons of misinformation spread about me and the whole situation so I definitely felt a need to clarify everything. I knew essentially nothing at all abt this acc or any of their callouts or whatnot, that just wasn't the sphere of cc I was in at any point, and while I post semi frequently on here, I'm not very interactive with content beyond my mutuals. Likely gonna retcon that going forward and look more into who I'm following before I do. Also pointing out that a lot of the sc's included in this thread or others are being presented as or shown as if they were from my likes? They were not, straight up not. Just gonna clear that up now. Lastly, please do not harass the creator of the thread or anyone else involved in this situation please. Please be kind y'all, and good day!

Quick note, if behind the scenes Jinx had immediately gotten harassment and death threats after the conception of that thread, THAT'S why Jinx was suddenly "stalking" leaktwt. Like of course Jinx is going to find the source of a bunch of people who are telling her he sucks and (possibly) telling him to kill themselves. Someone becoming conscious of their own controversy very quickly after it's conception isn't an abnormal thing.

So basically, I felt like I was going bananas because I'm going through replies trying to see if there's more evidence but there's nothing really condemning Jinx that strongly. You have evidence they followed someone who posts RPF NSFW, SHE confirmed she'd followed the acc that posted RPF NSFW.. But do they condone it? Did he see it? WHERE is your evidence?? So that's it. THAT'S IT. Even the artist in question only has proof he followed them, not that there was any tangible interactions to prove she saw the RPF content. And also, "my bio is nsfwrpf and my pfp was bsd and banner was fnaf? nothing to warrant her following me?" So it is 100% possible that he had only seen the artist's pfp, banner, the words "RPF" but not the problematic content in question.. So we actually need to talk about how exactly social media works, because for some reason nobody is bringing this up despite USING Twitter and KNOWING what Twitter feeds look like.

If you have ever been on a Twitter For You page (I'm checking mine now) you will know that the feed isn't strictly curated based on your following, Twitter has an algorithm that'll put posts on your feed based on different factors. When I go to mine, my feed isn't strictly people I follow (in fact it's barely people I follow), it's not chronological, and I don't know if this is still a feature but I distinctly remember times where I got shown posts that were LIKED by someone or RETWEETED by someone- So again, your feed can show you a lot of varying things that you're either only somewhat adjacent to or something that's not anything you're remotely interested in. So basically, you cannot know exactly what someone's feed looks like unless a person hand you their phone and you scroll through it. You can make ESTIMATES of what you thing someone's feed will look like, but, again, you can only know exactly what someone's feed looks like if you're able to scroll through it.

This is to say that it's 100% possible at some point Jinx came across a post from the account on their feed, didn't see it anything RPF related in the post or on their immediate page (assuming they clicked on the profile because you can follow people without going to their profile), and followed them. And even if they posted RPF the rest of the time, there is no way to know what % of Jinx's feed it would have been present on.. Which! Btw, is also influenced by if Jinx even frequents the For You page at ALL.. Which, Jinx claims he's not super active on Twitter, so that lines up perfectly with her explanation.

(And before you say something about it, we don't have access to the NSFW account because it got deactivated, but I personally doubt that the user literally only posted NSFW of RPF and MCYT. Most NSFW accs I've seen in my time always have even the slightest amount of variety.. So it's not to say it's not possible, but I think the artists' words are likely an exaggeration. That's the assumption this point is functioning under.)

Plus, remember what I mentioned about people liking or retweeting posts? It's kind of a whole point of social media that posts spread in chains, and it's 100% possible for posts from obscure or problematic people to reach normal people in the right circumstances. Again, this is just.. This is just how Twitter works?? How social media works?? And I feel like I'm insane sitting here typing out how posts actually end up on your feeds and reminding people what an algorithm is and that some people just AREN'T as online as you.

And I'm not saying all this to say that I am 100% sure that Jinx is innocent because I don't KNOW, and that's the POINT. You can't KNOW what Jinx has seen and what she hasn't unless you have proof of him interacting DIRECTLY with something.. And follows don't count because I know PLENTY of people (including myself at times) who don't vet the people they follow, and follow people from a post they've seen on their feed instead of their profile. All the evidence I've seen as of typing this is heresay, and unless all these people can present some substantial evidence that actually SAYS what they WANT it to say, I'm going to believe that Jinx made an honest mistake.

There's probably some other arguments I could make to prove my point, but I've been so thorough with everything I've been typing for literal hours just covering this. So I just wanna get at something that REALLY pisses me off about Twitter and I don't want to fucking see.

STOP calling people complicit in someone else's behaviour just because they're close to them. You are very potentially blaming VICTIMS THEMSELVES and I'm so fucking done with this.

Some people are saying Charlie is condoning this behaviour and it is DISGUSTING because can you actually take a step back and think about what you're saying?? Maybe Charlie does know, maybe he's into some freak shit, IDK, but I think it's WAY more likely Charlie didn't. The chances are far more likely that, if the allegations here are true, Charlie's boundaries were VIOLATED and HE'S the victim here. Though we can't really know because (I can't stress it enough) we don't KNOW what's happened behind the scenes. Charlie liked the tweet jinx made..

Which could mean several things. Maybe! The allegations aren't true, and Charlie is showing support for her. Maybe! The allegations were true, but they've quietly resolved the situation behind the scenes. Maybe! The allegations were true, and Jinx LIED to Charlie so he believes her.

(And yeah, I am implying these allegations could be true and I STILL think Jinx should be given some leniency based on if they've changed their mind on the morality of that content and have apologised in private to Charlie.. Because life is weird and people are weird and people change. Like IDK, again, maybe Charlie into that freak shit. What are you gonna do if a guy likes NSFW being drawn of himself? Complain to HIM about what his boundaries should be?)

You don't KNOW, you CAN'T know. I will state this over and OVER, YOU DON'T KNOW. Don't harass Jinx over things you don't know are true. If you don't like him after hearing these allegations? You're allowed to! It's fine! Block them and move on. But DON'T pretend that's the same as having evidence, because from what I've seen, you don't.

And I got very heated in that last bit so I just wanna say, I've spent all my time (again, these past few hours) writing this post. I don't know if Tumblr knows about this or is already talking about this, but this is my thorough take on the situation. i was talking w a friend a little bit ago about the exact differences between the generally speaking philosophies between older fans and younger fans. it seems that older fans embrace creating transformative works and having their own interpretations on who dnp are, whereas younger fans want to know dnp on a personal level and want dnp to know Them and recognize them not just as fans but as people. and OFC there are older phannies who want the parasocial interaction and younger phannies who write fic and people who do neither, and people who do both! (hi :3) but then some people have a difficult time being able to marry the two ideas maybe?

heres the truth. dan and phil are real human beings who have made a career largely off their shared dynamic together, BOTH because they genuinely enjoy creating and being together AND because a lot of people really get invested in it and it makes them more money. they don't mind fic or art, you probably SHOULDNT tag them in the saucy stuff, but they know it's out there and generally have been respectful of fan spaces and knowing where OUR boundaries lie (altho maybe the line was toed w the roblox video but thats debatable.) they really do care about their audience both in order to please us and keep us coming back, AND because they see how much theyve affected us as people and have a deep *Sarapocial Relationship with us.

there are both parasocial AND tranformative ways to break boundaries, and oftentimes they can be one and the same. they aren't our friends they arent our dads and they arent objects with no feelings. they don't stalk our accounts but they are still able to see whatever we post publicly. theyve seen so many horrible things and have had many horrible things happen to them, and while no one can be certain something like that won't happen again, now that they have been able to be more honest with us about a lot of things they are able to trust us a little bit more.

i love THE SHINING!!!!!!!!!! literally all week since saturday all ive been thinking abt is watching it again but since school started i made this little tradition that every saturday night id watch the shining on the tv while everyones asleep (im so cool) bc i love watching the shining on the tv (i only watch stuff on my laptop so getting to watch smth i love on the tv is rlly cool to me 😼)

- he wasnt entirely Present for the part where his dad betrayed the party, he was sort of fading in and out of consciousness so theres a chance he didnt actually get the full picture. condi knows this out of character and vyncent knows it in the back of his mind somewhere that his dad might not actually be fully evil but hes too angry to come to terms with that yet

- hes struggling a lot with the fact that his mom.doesnt know about the betrayal. he doesnt want to tell her because "its not his fathers pride at stake, its his mother's memory of him" and that makes me so . :(

- THE GREATS!!!!!!!! THE GREATS ARE HERE i love the greats. surely nothing bad is happening to them

- they have a couple theories as to whats going on with the greats:

-- condi: theyre in this state because vyncent took too long getting them back here out of his head

-- condi: they were killed when they got transported to the other world and there was no way to get them back completely

-- charlie: something happened in the time where vyncent was transported to prime and the greats had died, so someone did something to keep them alive by putting them in his head. maybe they could only be kept alive by being in vyncents head

- grizzly tries to insight check bizly irl to see if any of their theories are close so far. this does not work . he rolled a 17 btw

- none of them trust minerva they think she might be secretly working with the lich. bizly defends her by saying "shes also in the middle of basically an apocalypse i think shes allowed to be a little mean to you"

but yeah tuberculosis is still a very big problem, just not one that gets acknowledged much in wealthy or majority white nations. due to several reasons (most notably corporate greed in the pharmaceutical industry), TB treatments are very inaccessible to a lot of people — this has changed very recently, but in some parts global south, just a diagnostic test could cost an entire week’s worth of wages

if you know who john green is, he actually started going in on tuberculosis activism like last year and leveraged his fanbase against johnson & johnson and a biotech company called cepheid in order to get them to reduce the pricing of their treatment & testing equipment in low- and middle-income countries! cepheid & their parent company danaher are still dragging their feet (only the first test for TB is reduced, but if someone tests positive they’re supposed to get a second test that will check what drugs will be effective against their strain. this is a major deal and is still unaffordable to a lot of people).

i’ll restrain myself from infodumping too much about my (very unsettling) special interest, but i have some recommendations in case you’re curious:

phantom plague by vidya krishnan is an incredible resource that is very approachable for someone not familiar with TB history and so full of interesting information. krishnan covers both history and the modern day, and goes into not only some germ science but also the social, political, and financial aspects. this is a massive recommendation to anyone, it’s just really really good

but like for real if you're going to lecture on scientific topics in a youtube video, i need you to treat it LIKE A FUCKING LECTURE.

as a demonstration of this using my retained knowledge from the two videos i watched, both of which were abt 45 minutes long, have this stream of consciousness recounting of what i learned from the first video that i thought was quite good (i'm not spacing it out, the point is that it's a HUGE block of text. you do not need to read it if you don't want. you can skip to the next part beneath this massive paragraph):

doggerland was a stretch of land in the north sea a LONGASS time ago that was part of the mammoth steppe, which itself was the largest biome for a huge stretch of prehistory. doggerland was sort of known abt by ppl who lived along the north sea, but was first postulated in 1913 by a guy who took this local knowledge and surmised it based on some decent evidence. he made a rough map, and got pretty close! in 1930 something, they dredged up a hunting tool made of the antler of a red deer from abt 50 miles out into the north sea. peat and all that! since then, some research has been done using seafloor mapping from oil and wind companies, and various other sources, and based on THAT, we have a cool map of doggerland! the estimates include info abt how extant rivers in europe also continued into the lowlands (and higher areas around the dogger bank) of doggerland, and that their tributaries and headwaters were there. there were also some p big lakes! there's also this massive stretch of seafloor which is like 80m deeper than the surrounding seafloor of doogerland, and they can only guess that it was either 1. a lake or 2. caused by some catastrophic flooding at some point during doggerland's long demise. doggerland slowly went away (though quickly in geologic time) because of rising sea levels. global temps got warmer, ice and glaciers melted, sea levels rose. doggerland was v low lying, so waters rose p quickly there--though only abt a foot in a human's lifetime. eventually, all that was left was doggerbank, which was like an island, and a few other islands. together they formed an archipelago. then abt 8k years ago, lake agazassi (sp?) in north america either formed or flooded, and it rose sea levels pretty drasitcally--abt 1 foot in a year. then around the same time, there was a MASSIVE underwater mudslide off the coast of norway. it caused a huge tsunami. most of it went out to sea, but enough of it hit scotland and denmark for there to be proof of it today. which means doggerbank ALSO got hit. any humans still habitating that island were wiped out, w as much as 1/4 of coastal ppl around the north sea estimated to have been killed by the tsunami. it didnt bury doggerland underwater, but it DID irrevocably change some shit up, kill a lot of ppl and animals, and probably convince them to go elsewhere. additionally, we have evidence of similarities on opposite sides of the north sea that indicate what the landscape was like in doggerland, and how continental europe connected to the british isles. OH ALSO how doggerland was CREATED! it first existed as glaciers receded and left a rocky barren landscape. then "pioneer" life began existing, like lichen. then moss followed. then other things like grasses. then boom you start to get a decent goddamn biome going! rodents, other plant life, eventually megafauna, and of course humans. additionally, the thing that differentiates the mammoth steppe, doggerland, and the tundra? the mammoth steppe stretched pretty far south, and doggerland was part of that. now the only places on earth that are similar are tundras--and their latitude is like 67 something. at 66, you get at least one day a year without ANY sunlight. this means that basically, you can't get PAST the lichen and moss pioneer lifeform stage! it's too cold with too little sunlight! so no grasslands or steppes! (also grasslands are grasslands bc grazing animals eat trees before they grow lol) and over time as things got wetter and colder, there became bogs! and wetlands! there also were massive forests of mainly willow genus trees and shrubs. and then you've got brackish waters and coastlines and rivers etc etc etc.

okay now let's compare that to what i can recall from this other video that i watched, also abt 45 minutes:

there's a similar forest in norfolk as to one in schoorl in the netherlands. they're at near identical latitudes, and they help to prove that doggerland existed. um. throughout europe and eurasie, there were a lot of animals, including megafauna. tons of species of mammoths. i can recall......the southern, the steppe, and the wooly. which existed/evolved in roughly that order. there were wild horses. some bison at some point? cave bears, but not in doggerland? some saber cats. also possibly not in doggerland? unclear. uh. elk. and then like a lot of dates abt when human ancestors were there. they assumed that homo antecessor were the first in europe, and therefore presumably doggerland. they did cannibalism to survive sometimes (without the murder). also homo [named after a place in germany where they were found]. also neanderthal. and modern humans. they bred together. um. lots of tools. cave paintings. and then some cultures across europe. i don't recall the names or dates of them. i'm unclear who would've lived in doggerland and when. oh also mammoths apparently got spondylitis. and they stored fat on their necks. and they had double coats. um.

these videos were on the same fucking topic from two different angles, both were 45-ish minutes long. i can tell you the approximate dates and locations of almost everything from the first video, and almost nothing from the second video. i think??? that??? homo antecessor went extinct 700k years ago? so it overlaps w homo [german town]? but they're uncertain if it's its own species or what? but like. that's it.

meanwhile first video i've got several dates--i even recall that the antler weapon found in the north see in the 1930s (1934?) happened in september. and the lake thing in north america was 8k years ago.

in the first video, when 'mesolithic' or 'paleolithic' or 'holocene' or 'pleistocene' or anything abt ice ages and other geologic/prehistorical periods came up, there would be an onscreen card telling me when they happened.

i can't recall them now bc the second video i watched afterwards threw those words around without any dates, and spoke abt them in nonconsecutive sections that overlaps and looped back around and made no fucking sense. is the mesolithic before or after the holocene? no idea. i don't even know what years those would be.

the second video jumped all over the fucking place, to the point where i'm confused abt which animals were even in doggerland, even though like 15-20 mins was spent on it.

I wanted to ask that because I wondered about the thought process behind the renaming of mixed anglophone trans people. Also was thinking about the potential societal pressure mixed trans people might feel to conform to some degree when renaming themselves. I know some immigrant parents give their kids local names to fit in

so I thought maybe t. people do that too and wanted to ask you that. Tho I realize my question wasn't clear on that. I don't think you need to worry about talking abt your ethnicity tho. Atrocities sure, EVERY people have a history of them. They're always committed by a group of people tho. It's never a defining trait of an entire population. You shouldn't have to add a disclaimer like that. If people online or where you live have made you feel bad about that I'm sorry, but they're blockheads. or not just mixed people but also 2nd gen immigrants and such. well it figures that people would consider naming themselves in their other native languages as well. I guess the everyday racism can be too much when coupled with the transphobia. I don't think you are a coward at all.

Oh no don't worry, you're good, it's just that I'm being careful for general internet safety reasons/not being visible to parents or employers here. I don't mind sharing my naming process in more detail (I'll add it under the cut in case it answers any other questions you had).

The disclaimer was definitely me being hypervigilant because of tumblr being tumblr moreso than from actual bad experiences that have happeend to me. Generally people don't even know the history of the area well enough to use it to justify racism against Turks, but I have seen it happen a few times. I mostly just don't want to be associated with Turkish nationalists, but yeah it really isn't something anyone should have to worry about when saying what ethnicity they are. I do think that if, say, Kurds or Armenians hate Turks that's kinda justified though.

Anyways I hope this helps answer some questions? I can't say racism and transphobia weren't things I thought about, but I pass pretty well as cis and white, so they were probably less significant than for some others.

Funnily enough, I think my dad (Turkish) who actually wanted to give us more typical English names as kids but it was my mom (white) who was like "nooo it's so much more interesting to give them Turkish names" and didn't really understand why he was apprehensive about it until we started like, getting shit at school for it lol. 2000s islamophobia + elementary school kids parroting youtube and all that lmao

I actually didn't really have memorable incidents in high school, just everyone mispronouncing the name to a point where I just kinda stopped bothering to correct everyone. I was probably less bothered by that than most cis POC would be, since it wasn't a name I really intended on keeping anyways. I did consider whether or not I should go with a Turkish name, but I was mostly just like "man this is annoying, I don't wanna have to explain how to say my name all the time" yknow? I also didn't feel particularly strongly about wanting to keep a Turkish name since like... my parents had some bits of Turkish stuff around at home, but I can't speak the language and I wasn't really raised with distinctly different cultural values or religious practices from the average white kid. It's not that I don't think it's important, and I understand why it's important to a lot of other people, but it didn't feel critical enough to me to have a signifier to everyone about it.

(Plus, uh. Kinda heavy but my mom was catastrophizing at the time about how me transitioning would impact the family and threatening suicide if people found out that I was trans and traced things back to them, so I definitely didn't want it to be anything that would give hints for that.)

Michael was actually an impulsive compromise with myself around not outright kin naming (Mikaela -> Michaela -> Michael) lmao. I don't regret it though; it's been so fucking funny having a common name so I can get online "hate" messages like "why is your name Michael" and so friends can send me new shit like this regularly
