Here, have a mirror of the final Nightly build of Citra (March 3rd 2024), and the most recent build of Yuzu I could find via the Wayback Machine. (February 28th 2024)
EDIT: On April 27th 2024, Uncle Wario was assassinated by the Nintendo Ninjas. The Yuzu and Citra mirrors will be reuploaded elsewhere soon.

Shoutout to the Mistie who uploaded Final Sacrifice to YouTube as Final Justice so we can watch it again. That's the true MST3K spirit.

I feel like I've stumbled across a musical corpse today.
There's a fun little tool I've been playing with—forgotify. It pulls up songs from Spotify that have no plays or no complete plays. Oftentimes the music is unremarkable but rarely bad, but sometimes, the songs simply do not play. This is one of those cases.
I pull the thread. I click the link to listen to the full song on Spotify.
The entire album is greyed out. No songs available. Clicking on the name of the artist reveals that none of their albums are available to stream. There's a link to buy a physical CD. For now, I keep looking.
I type in the name of the band—generic, and difficult to search—and one of their more specific song titles into YouTube. One relevant hit. A reupload. It sounds nice. There's a link to the band's myspace page.
I pull the thread. The page is bare bones, like all the images and text were purged. The music tab has a list of songs for one album. None of them are playable.
I check the internet archive. No dice.
Back on Spotify, I go to their merch page. They have two albums available for sale. I learn eBay has them as well. The music is not gone, just hard to find.
I couldn't tell you what actually happened to the band to make everything disappear. There is no reliable way to stream the albums.
Without physical media, many of those songs would be lost.
Remember your roots.

Someone just uploaded MST3k's The Final Sacrifice to YouTube again.
Watch it before the director of that movie takes it down yet again.
Loser.

I might reorganise my google drive so that all the shows and movies in my drive are in one folder, and then just drop the link on tumblr unannounced, for just a short space of time.

In the Peanut Gallery with Mystery Science Theater 3000: Essays on Film, Fandom, and the Culture of Riffing - ed. Robert G. Weiner and Shelley E. Barba
Here's another mixed bag of essays on a show that is a part of my soul that I found while researching my I Saw the TV Glow paper. Some of these chapters needed at least one more editing pass, most could have been strengthened by removing the "what is MST3K?" explainer paragraph, and some didn't strike me as academically rigorous enough to hang with the rest of the anthology, but there is some excellent stuff here and it is admirable as the first collection of scholarship about the show.
I specifically got it for the chapter on tape trading, and there were additional discussions throughout the other essays of the Best Brains attitude toward... let's call it a fan distribution model.
I should have kept a running tally of references to Sontag's definition of camp compared to references to Jenkin's work on textual poaching...I suspect Sontag would win, but probably not by much!
This was lots of fun to read while in a cabin in the woods in Washington state, and I should pull up Boggy Creek II now that I am back in the land of strong internet connections.
ETA: It is very obvious how much the scholarship was hampered by the limited availability of over half the episodes of this show. Distribution rights seriously affected both Freaks and Geeks and Daria in modern releases (I am forever grateful to everyone who went without royalties on that F&G set), but at least we got the full runs of those shows. MST3K got boned when syndication went away, and you can tell in these essays that most of the scholars and fans didn't have access to more than a handful of the most well known titles.

Surprise! Uncle Wario faked his death, the Nintendo Ninjas have not gotten him.
I removed the ROM folder just to be on the safe side, but the mirrors of Citra (March 3rd 2024) and Yuzu (February 28th 2024) are still up and accessible.
Also, please feel free to mirror these yourself anywhere you can. The more available mirrors, the better.

Hey Photomatt, weren't you around for the days of "nothing disappears on the internet"? Wanna see some proof of that as you erase all the evidence of your bigotry?

i just want to thank you for compiling all the RWBY content out there. it inspired me to finally get the second server i got working and download all 254GB to store there. and under RAID 1 because you can never have too much redundancy. i even set up a jellyfin media server so i could watch it all on the go. seriously, thank you
never too much redundancy!! o7
i’ve had most of it either downloaded or languishing in “i’ll strip the DRM later” procrastination purgatory for a while so Recent Events have largely been a reason for me to consolidate and then upload and as long as i was doing that i figured i Might As Well just download all the behind the scenes stuff and chibi and etc. (<- vile completionist)
anyway. been enjoying watching my transfer quota fill up for the FIRST TIME EVER very exciting. (i’ve got a pro II account for the storage—for musical theater bootlegger reasons if u think 250 GB of rwby is a lot just know i have terabytes of bootlegs also bfkfhdhsbk—which gives me a transfer quota of 120 TB per month, which is an absurd amount. y’all have so far used 37% of it, as opposed to the <1% i normally use every month ❤️🤍🖤💛)
