You sighed, shaking your head softly in resignation. "No, no it's okay, believe it or not, I tend to get that quite a bit."
The stranger looks you up and down cautiously, and you mentally go over your appearance yourself, regretting not putting on a hat or head cover of sorts today. "Really?" They finally ask, less apologetic now, mainly skeptical.
"Yup," you pop the 'p'. "For all sorts of things, I think there was even a cult accusation at one point. Guess I've just got 'one of those faces', you know?"
"Yeah. . .. one of those faces." The stranger was frowning now. "Sorry, I didn't mean to be disrespectful or anything, I know that people have. . .. all sorts of weird things going on in their lives. Could I buy you a drink or something?"
You blinked. It had been a while since someone had invited you to something without deeper intentions, but the person seemed apologetic enough, if not a little weirded out. "Sure, that'd be nice" you finally settle on saying. The stranger cracks a smile.
"Awesome! Can't wait to get to know you, Mr.-"
"Quirrel," you smiled. "Pleasure to make your acquaintance."
Day 7
You hear someone start cursing at you from behind. Turning around, you see the speaker turn pale, put up their hands, and say in a worried voice, “I’m so sorry, from the back you look exactly like someone who owes me money.”

Keanu Reeves is enlisting Fast & Furious director #JustinLin to adapt his comic #BRZRKR for #Netflix.
Reeves will star and produce alongside Stephen Christy from #BOOMStudios, Stephen Hamel from Company Films, and Ross Richie. Lin will also produce under his Perfect Storm banner. BRZRKR is a “brutally epic saga” about an immortal warrior’s 80,000-year struggle and his search for truth about his bloody existence.
#KeanuReeves also co-wrote the Book of Elsewhere adaptation with China Miéville, and an anime spinoff is developing at Netflix. Initially, there were rumors that Reeves would direct, but he partnered with Lin, known for revitalizing the Fast & Furious franchise and directing Star Trek Beyond.

Maybe it's a 'study finds water is wet' type of thought, but
considering it's an action movie whose overall plot is "immortal warriors Fuck Shit Up™️", I think it's significant that in The Old Guard the thing that makes Copley pull red strings through his Murder Conspiracy Board and say "[Merrick] doesn't care what [Andy]'s done with [her immortality]" is the people they save, not the ones they kill
Most of the Conspiracy Board is him circling random newspaper headlines and faces on old photographs to (more or less realistically) follow the immortals' treck through the world and big historical events. Which is, in-canon, not much different than putting portraits from different centuries next to a picture of Keanu Reeves and saying "they look the same, clearly Reeves is an immortal!"
But then there are the connections. A little girl holding Joe's hand in WW1 becoming the youngest (and first) woman to be awarded a Nobel Prize for Medicine (suck it, Kozak). Or the grandchild of a family that Andy saved from [something] helping people escape from the Khmer Rouge genocide in Cambodia.
They are warriors. They have fought and been in the midst of countless wars, major or minor, throughout history. They must have killed as many people as they saved... and yet.
It's not them taking out a random warlord or dictator or rabidly hateful politician that has tangible repercussions in history. It's the children and families they get out of war zones, save from accidents, protect from natural disasters. People to whom they give a second chance at life, and grow to change the world (or even just their own world), like a mysterious stranger once changed theirs just by holding out a hand or patching a wound.
I don't know I just think it's particularly neat

Keanu Reeves teamed up with China Mieville, one of the greatest living authors of the New Weird movement, to write a novel about his edgy self-insert OC who’s an 80,000 year old immortal warrior who was born because his mom fucked lightning. Cringe culture is dead and John Wick himself killed it. Write your goddamn stories and don’t let anyone tell you they’re cringe.

We talk about immortal celebrities, like Keanu Reeves and Oscar Isaac and stuff, but...
Should we talk about Matt Mercer and Cesare Borgia?
