This work asks the hard questions and demands the audience examine their own morals and inherent prejudices and likely they will redefine their understanding of abstract themes of justice and mercy. Outstanding work!

Life is not always willing to wait for better circumstances.” Letting one hand drift up to his shoulder, Frigga said, “Energy is energy, regardless of the form it takes. In the right circumstances, your magic can be briefly rekindled by powerful emotions fueling the strength that only the truly desperate can reach. It won’t be easy and it won’t endure long, but it can be done if your need is great.” “Powerful emotions?” asked Loki. “Overwhelming rage and hatred. Fear for your life or for those around you.” Leaning forward, Mother pressed a small kiss to his forehead. “Love. All of them overwhelming forces capable of the impossible, my child. Never underestimate any of them. Especially the last.”   Centuries later and outside of time, his mother's words become far too relevant. Because Loki is truly desperate and those powerful emotions are certainly present in ample supply. There are some people that he refuses to lose, even if they have the worst timing on making certain feelings known.

This is a really lovely exploration of love and an unconventional relationship in the aroace/QPR spectrum, bolstered by great writing and plenty of emotional beats to match the action. Thoroughly enjoyed and you will too.

Just about anything by @definedareasofuncertainty , or coveredinthecolors on AO3. You'll find her works here. I'm a fangirl and will vouch for absolutely everything she has ever written. One of my all-time favorite authors, who has a brilliant Klaus voice and one of the most evocative and colorful writings in fandom.

@cupcakemolotov is a fandom legacy writer for a reason. There are more than 200 (!!!!!) fics for you to choose from and they are all brilliant! There's something for every taste, seriously cannot go wrong. Works here.

Borzoi has sadly only ever posted on FF.net, but you will not regret a trip to the past to read her works. You'll find some of all-time favorite fics here. If I had to rec one, it would be Parisian Deal, but Paradise Lost is fantastic too. Works here.

@highgaarden, who's but_seriously on AO3. Hannah has also written some of my favorite fics. This is a Harvest has a special place in my heart. But I have read almost everything she has ever written, and it's all fantastic. Works here.

@kirythestitchwitch writing is just delicious, the type that you can't get enough of because as soon as you start reading you just become addicted. Perfect dialogue, perfect wit, perfect characterization and Mikaelson shenanigans! Works here.

@morningstargirl666 has an epic TVD rewriting that starts all the way from a retelling of the Originals' past, and it's honestly impossible not to embrace it as canon after reading it. Works here.

Another one of my all-time favorites: @lalainajanes! Some faaaaantastic one shots and brilliant multi-chaps that worked as gateway drugs for me when I starting to read KC fics. Colored You In is perfection! But just over 200 fics for you to choose from. It's a feast. Works here.

oddly enough, even though kc is in the centre, this fic actually examines liz’s internal world the most—and i LOVE IT.  her perspective is not one that’s commonly present in fics, and that’s only a reason to appreciate this work even more. the sensation of confusion that permeates it and the way she’s feeling her world go all topsy-turvy is extremely poignant, and absolutely stunningly written!

She has few regrets, and when she and Klaus meet again, it’s this ‘heartbreaking, bittersweet everything being ALMOST perfect...except’ moment. One of my favorite go-tos to read again and again!

The Adventures of Duck & Chicken by wanderlustfaery

What a silly-yet-absolutely-marvelous premise! It’s a unique blend of rom-com with some fluffy angst and reading this one always brings a smile to my face. Also, Duck and Chicken make great roommates, but bear in mind they are NOT to be crossed! LOVE the comedic chops this writer puts on display!

Canonish elements put the reader right into the scenes and that Caroline-Elijah unexpected bonding moment (seriously this writer masterfully tackles this scene) makes me wistful that the TVD writers didn’t explore scenes like this.

Oh this is a beloved favourite. Caroline's a werewolf alpha and Klaus, fresh from breaking his curse, searches her pack out to turn them into hybrids. Instead of forces them to turn, Caroline makes a deal with him, teaching him what it means to be who they are, offering him a place in her pack and if by a certain amount of time her pack want to become hybrids, he may turn as many as he wishes. It's got some great lore and delves nicely into Klaus' werewolf side. I adore it.

The Stubborn Grace of Being Loved Regardless by @helpless-in-sleep / perfectpro

Also an all-time favourite, this fic is beautiful. Caroline isn't turned into a vampire and when Klaus rolls into town, she's still human. That doesn't deter his affections. AND DID I MENTION YOU GET TO SEE HIM IN WOLF FORM? NO? WELL YOU DO AND I AM STILL NOT OVER IT 😭😭😭

AND HELL YES WE GET KLAUS IN WOLF FORM!!! Go forth and read.

A fic from my ffnet days, this has got to be a contender for my favourite kc fic of all time. Again, there's just something so mundane about it, even with all the supernatural shenanigans - I guess I have a type? I NEED THE DOMESTICITY OKAY? Caroline and Klaus exchange phone calls while she's in college, diverging from season 5 canon.

Blood and A Quick Murder (and isn't that how it always is?) by @ks-caster / KS_Caster

A beautiful character study on how Caroline will always come first in Klaus' books. It explores a really unique idea I've never seen before, and if you like this one-shot you should definitely check out ks-caster's Red Queen series too, which diverges from canon at season 4.

This one is probably on every klaroline rec list, but eh, I don't care. It's a good classic. I love that its set in New Orleans and Caroline gets her own powers. It also has Klaus in wolf form and any fic that has that instantly earns my seal of approval, as you should know by now.

It's an amazing fic, canon divergent from season 3, a tattoo soulmate au with brilliant appearances from Kol, Elijah and Rebekah as well. And hey, in my shell shock after reading it I left an essay-length comment on the fic and now I'm best mates with the author. Our tastes literally align so perfectly it's like we share the same brain cell, so I could probably make a top ten klaroline fic list out of Ella's fics alone - every fic of hers takes all my hopes and dreams and weaves them into art. So check her stuff out, and not just the popular ones either (she's also got an amnesia au in the works which has me FERAL so come help me pester her to finish it)

In honor of announcement of the fate Kinnporsche season 2 this Wednesday I would like to present my long overdue wish for the plot of season 2.

All in all, I want Korn to go down, and I want Vegas to become the instigator.

Let’s first take a look back to the actual underlying plot of the Kinnporsche Chessgame from the perspective of papa Korn in S1. He has one goal and that is to take down the minor family aka his brother. They are uncontrollable and Korn needs a minor family head he can control. So, he has been faking sickness and ‘given’ the power to Kinn, so that when he fakes his death, the minor family will try to stage a coup, which is the only legit excuse for Korn to kill his brother.

BUT we still need a minor family. And one that can be controlled. Enter Porsche who Korn makes Kinn take on as a bodyguard, but really Korn is planning on making him the head of the minor family, when he kills his brother. I don’t think he really cares what Porsche’s relationship to Kinn is, and he his definitely not counting on them falling on love. But either way Korn has controll over Porsche because he has his mother. It all works out more than perfectly for Korn. Porsche becomes loyal to Kinn, who is loyal to his father. Korn has control over Porsche and Chay because he has their mother, and by sheer luck he now also has control of the most uncontrolled liability for the whole thing – Kim, who can be controlled with having Chay. And EVEN more luck when Vegas and Pete get together, because even though Pete is loyal to Vegas, he is also loyal to the major family. And the thing Vegas and Pete disagrees the most on is that Korn is a good man and that Vegas should just get on his side. Just perfect for papa Korn, who put everyone in a checkmate and now has them in their separate little fishbowls.

SO season 2. Listen I am a Vegas woo girl through and through and I want him to be the absolute hero of the show for my own selfish reasons. In short. I want Vegas to stand his ground against the major family, to somehow get the evidence that Korn has been manipulating everyone forever and that there is a huge important secret that Kan was about to reveal when he got shot. I want Season 2 to be about shifting loyalty to the old generation and the new making their own rules and set of players. I want Vegas to be the biggest advocate for freedom from their manipulating fathers and the systems of oppression and deceit they have created. (Maybe Venice enters the picture and set these thoughts in motion for Vegas?). I want Vegas to team up with Kim and I want him to get Pete on his side against Korn, then for them to convince Porsche and in the - of course the most difficult one - Kinn. Obviously this would create a lot of tension and problems for the all the couples and their relationships. But I think it would be really fun to shake it up a bit. I also really want to see Vegas as a leader (I think he would be really good at it) and him and Kim working together would be terrifying and really fun.

I really thought that the Chess Game of Loyalty plot from S1 was very well thought out and subtle even though it determined a lot of the events in the show. I would honestly settle for ANY KP VP KC content being announced. I am starving for more of these characters. BUT if I had my way this is what I would wish for season 2.
