Kaveh hangout dialogue is just "Well I know what Alhaitham, as the dumbest idiot stupid dummy in all of Sumeru, would think about this and he's wrong"

I feel like we have not spoken enough about how Kaveh is fully an alcoholic. Like, we knew back when his voicelines dropped:

Which is pretty telling when paired with how much he talks about drinking in general.

Then in his hangout event - he immediately starts day drinking no matter which pathway you choose. He proclaims that he won't stop until someone has to "carry him out" and later on in the hangout, Tighnari chastises him for "drinking again" after smelling the alcohol on Kaveh.

Obviously we've had quite a few characters who enjoy drinking (Venti, Beidou, Kaeya etc), but I feel like this is the first time it's been presented as a wholly negative thing. Generally it's a funny occurrence in Venti's case, or supposed to surprise us since it goes against the character's characterisation otherwise (in the situations of Kazuha and Eula, for example).

I hope we can see Kaveh rely less on alcohol to deal with hard times. It's pretty much confirmed that after becoming homeless/getting into debt he went on a two week bender at the tavern until Alhaitham took him home. Which does make me wonder - there's a couple of occasions in game now of Alhaitham stealing Kaveh's beer/wine (Kaveh complains about it in his hangout most recently). Perhaps Alhaitham is trying to fix the drinking issue in his own non-communicative, roundabout way?

Kaveh's father's name HC

With Kaveh's hangout now fully confirming that his mother's name is Faranak, my friend Saqi mentioned that it's likely that his father's name was Abtin.

Both Kaveh and Faranak are characters mentioned in Shahnameh (The Book of Kings). Kaveh is based on Kaveh the Blacksmith, while Faranak is the mother of Fereydun, who revolted against the tyrannical king, Zahāk alongside Kaveh.

Faranak was married to Abtin, and although they are not the parents of Kaveh the blacksmith, the inspiration most likely comes from there.

I haven’t done Kaveh’s Hangout yet (I’ve seen spoilers) but there is something so special about Collei having so many people supporting her.

When we first see her in the manga she has lost so much; her parents, health, freedom and even her trust in people. But slowly over time with the help of not only the Mondstadt gang but also her Sumeru family has she become better.

From a caring master, to doting uncles/mentors and even people like Faruzan who have nothing but kind words for her. It shows that with love and support we can all become our best.

I just realized that most people in populated areas of Sumeru would have been using the Akasha to calculate all their day to day math problems, so now a lot of them are probably struggling with numbers, with the exceptions people who grew up elsewhere and Kshahrewar scholars. Which makes Kaveh being the only one to realize how bad that contract was make a lot of sense.

So, guess who finally played through the Kaveh Hangout? That's right, it's me!

As per usual, spoilers UTC. But have this spoiler-free TL;DR of how I liked it: I actually gave him a crown straight after - I relate to this man an unhealthy amount, istg.

He is literally the first character we start the hangout at 0 hearts with. Poor baby *pat pat* Also istg he has an alcohol problem... drink responsibly peeps!

Nothing to see here, just Cyno casually roasting Kaveh.

Honey pls- Where is your self-esteem?? You're literally the most famous architect in Sumeru. Trust me... I get his sentiment though, more than I'd like to admit.

He's so snarky and saracstic, god help me... I love him. They literally put my bf in this game - hoyo pls...

They may bicker 24/7 but Haitham actually cares a lot about Kaveh. Awww, precious!! Also... Kaveh you blind fool. Open your eyes, then you'd see that people actually care about you and your well-being (I'm one to talk here tbh...).

Kaveh also designed the bridge in Port Ormos aside from the Palace of Alcazarzaray. He's a very gifted bean!

Just @ me next time, Kaveh...

Kaveh's mom was a beauty and also stubborn and a perfectionist. All traits he canonically inherited. Kaveh confirmed beautiful. We love to see it.

*yells* SUMERU SQUAD'S PARENTS WERE CANONICALLY FRIENDS!! I will never recover from this. this also revealed that both of Alhaitham's parents seem to have been "stiff" in their demeanor. I wonder where their son got that from... lol!

Next up: Sumeru squad dinner to talk about Collei! She plans to enroll into the Akademiya as well and Alhaitham apparently also tutors her from time to time (I cannot tell you how much I squealed there... to everyone saying he is cold and an asshole... no he ain't!! He just can'T express it. *cries*)

Oh, and ofc... here they go bickering again...

Istg... I love these 4 dorks so much. I'd give anything to join one of their gatherings.

Some final thoughts and why I relate to Kaveh so much?

He literally trusts people way too easily and then ends up getting hurt or disappointed.

He's an artist and our perspective on art aligns.

He's a perfectionist.

He has no self-esteem and self-confidence at all and is plagued by self-doubts all the time.

Minor Kaveh Hangout Spoilers

I’ll repeat that one:

This is in response to us asking about why he gets so angry about his designs. And I don’t want to point out Kavetham where it doesn’t exist but, come on, Alhaitham is the only person to frustrate Kaveh this much and... Kaveh himself concedes that you get most upset about the things you truly love?

I've gotten three amazing branches of Kaveh's hangout and thought surely now, the last two must be mid, but the fourth was also great.
