Something different. Here's some genuine fanart of Katy Coope's character from her How to draw Manga book. I found my copy of the book and had to pay homage to the art that did influence my early artistic career. I look back at this book fondly, it did make me color my work more
This was the guy I copied the most back then.

Sick Days
Blurt/One-Shot | Diabetes & Love Warnings: Sickness (vomiting), Sever low blood sugar, passing out, mentions of seizures, hospitals, ambulances. This is probably crap but yeah.... wrote it and decide just to post it...
You were flopped against your Mum’s body as she held you whilst also trying to carry everything else, she stopped at the door to the gym, knocking before sticking her head in,
“Hey Leah, I’m so sorry, I know we were meant to spend the night hanging out and I was taking you home but she is really sick and so I think it's best I take her home, hopefully then no one else will get it either,” Leah saw the way you looked slightly green and decided your Mum was going to need help, this was the first time you had been sick since your diagnosis and it looked like it wasn’t going to be pretty.
“I’ll still come if you want, help you with y/n and keep you entertained while you’re cooped up in the house,” Leah offered.
“Yeah okay. I’ll meet you in the car?” your Mum said, gaining a nod from Leah.
-
“You’re going with Russo right?” Viv asked as Leah entered the locker room.
“Yeah,” Leah said as she started frantically packing her things.
“Good, we were worried, y/n looks really sick,” Katie said “Keep us updated?” The Irish woman was pretty sure Leah sent her a nod of confirmation.
“Leah if either of you guys need anything just call, and I’ll be straight over,”
“Will do, thank you all, sorry for leaving so abruptly,” Leah told everyone as she walked out the room.
It had been a few hours since you got home and you kept vomiting, Alessia was getting worried and Leah was nervous that she would soon need another set of hands to help her, so she called kim. Your Mum was looking more green by the minute and seemed to be sweating a lot more than she should have. Leah was also pretty sure she heard your Mum coughing one of the times she went to the bathroom.
“Leah, can you call an ambulance?” Alessia asked just as Kim arrived at the front door.
“Okay, so it is bad, Leah you good calling the ambulance?” The older of the pair nodded at their captain as she was already dialling 111, “What do you need Alessia?” “Can you put some towels down beside her, she’s most likely going to vomit once I do this,” your Mum asked and Kim nodded before quickly running off and returning with some towels. She placed them in front of you and your Mum quickly gave you the glucagon injection, causing you to cry, before suddenly you had thrown up again, but you barely had the energy to do that, your cries were so weak and everyone in that room hoped the paramedics would be there soon. Your Mum was rubbing your back, trying her hardest not to cry yet, she didn’t want to scare you.
“I know bubba, I’m sorry, the ambulance should be here to help soon, I’m so sorry, I love you so much.”
Just as the paramedics walked into the kitchen, you were throwing up again and your Mum and Kim quickly stood up letting them get to work, Leah having told them everything they needed to know already.
You Mum stood up and immediately was pulled into Leah’s arms, where she just started sobbing violently, and Leah had to hold her tightly to make sure she didn’t collapse.
“We’re going to take her to Watford, they may then want to transfer her to one of the bigger paediatric centres, but it's best we get her stabilised first, unfortunately only two of you can travel with us, and they most likely will only let two of you in with her anyway at any one time,” The paramedics told the three women but mainly it was aimed at Leah and Kim, with your Mum being so out of it now.
“I’ll stay here and clean up, you go with them, Leah, just keep me updated,” Kim told Leah who nodded.
“You can sit in the back with them both if you want,” One of the paramedics told Leah who nodded before grabbing your Mum’s phone, and her keys before grabbing her own phone, and going to sit next to Alessia in the ambulance, who held onto Leah's hand like a lifeline.
You were wheeled ahead as your Mum and Leah, well more Leah were left to do some paperwork, Alessia felt a panic surge through her body when she saw your body start seizing, immediately you were surrounded by doctors, she started swaying slightly, accidentally bumping into Leah as her feet became unsteady, “Less, you okay? Less” Leah said just before Alessia passed out, “Shit, Less,” Leah dropped the clipboard and pen to catch her before lowering her on the ground, positioning her on her side.
“Why didn’t you tell us you weren’t feeling well,” Leah asked your Mum sternly who was now sat in a hospital bed.
“I ah-” “Is that what you were doing every time you went to the bathroom? Throwing up?”
“I’m sorry,” Alessia mumbled before beginning to cry, causing Leah to climb into the bed next to her, pulling her into her chest.
“We’re all here for you Less, you just need to let us be there for you,” “I just, I didn’t want to feel like a burden, and I just, I’m a single Mum, it’s just me,” “But it’s not just you Less, we are all here for you, her diagnosis has changed nothing, we will look after both of you, just like we always have. Would it make you feel better if I made everyone do a professional diabetes class rather than just going off what you have taught us? I mean I already have but I would be happy to sit through another one and force everyone else to do one too, I'm sure they would all be just as happy to learn so they could help out though. Does that sound good?” Leah felt Alessia nod into her shoulder before they both started to doze off.

Chapter 19 | Masterlist
“Katie? Darlin’ you ready?” Jake yelled out. I was fixing a curl in my mirror when I replied. “I’m coming!” I yelled out, grabbing the small wallet to put in my jeans and walked downstairs. “Why are you rush…ing me?” I stared at Jake who stood in front of me in blue jeans, a large belt buckle, a light blue pearl snap shirt, black stetson and fringed chaps. “Woah.” He muttered. “Yeah, woah.” I said, looking at him. He looked so good. “You okay?” He asked and I nodded, smiling at him once I broke out of my trance. “You got a little drool right there.” I said, pointing to the corner of his lips and he quickly wiped his face. “You look gorgeous.” He said, coming around the couch and taking my waist in his hands. “And you look hot.” I said without thinking and my face grew warm with a blush. He chuckled, his hand coming up and cupping my cheek. “Thank you, darlin’.” He said, leaning forward and kissing my forehead. “Okay, the finishing touch.” Jake said. He walked over to the dining room table and grabbing a box. “Here.” He said, holding out the box towards me. “Take the lid off.” He said. I raised a brow but lifted the lid and gasped at what was inside. “Jake.” I said, pulling the white stetson out. “It’s beautiful.” I said. It was a pure snow white with a light brown leather strap around it. “I figured if you were going to dress as a cowgirl, you need a real cowgirl hat.” He said, setting the box down and gently placing the hat on my head.
“You look gorgeous.” He said, leaning down and kissing my cheek. “Are you ready?” He asked and I nodded. I slid a small wallet and my phone in my back pocket and followed Jake out, stopping in front of the mirror we had hanging up in the foyer. I admired myself for a minute before a smile grew on my face. “Darlin’?” He asked and I turned, taking his hand and letting him lead me out to the truck. “What do you think everyone else will be dressed as?” I asked him when we were halfway there. He shrugged and squeezed my thigh. “I don’t know. I guess we’ll just have to find out.” He said, grinning at me. It wasn’t long before we pulled up to a house with cars overflowing in the driveway. Jake parked in the road and got out, rushing around to my side. “You okay?” He asked as he took my hand and helped me out. I know that no one like Coop is going to be here, but I still worry.
“Yeah, just a little nervous.” I said and he smiled at me, leaning down and kissing my forehead. “It’ll be okay. But if you ever want to leave just say the words and we’re out.” He said and I nodded, smiling up at him. “Alright.” With that he locked the truck, squeezed my hand and led us to the front door. Once there he rang the doorbell and we waited for a second before it swung open and revealed Mav in front of us in black pants and a black tank top. “Hey guys!” He said before pulling Jake into a hug and reaching for me, catching me off guard. “Hey Mav.” I said and he moved for us to step in. “Glad to see y’all made it!” He was so excited and probably had a few drinks at this point. “Come on, Penny is out back with everyone else.” We followed him out back to find the large back yard lit up, tables set up with lots of food and drinks. “Wow, y’all went all out.” Jake said and Mav nodded. “Go big or go home, right?” He said, laughing. “Help yourself to drinks, there’s plenty for everyone.” With that Mav walked away and Jake turned to me. “What do you want?” He asked, slowly walking us over to the table on the porch. “A beer will be fine.” I told him and he raised a brow at me. “You want a beer?” He asked, reaching in and pulling out a bottle. “Yeah,” I nodded. “Gotta branch out eventually.” He chuckled, popped the top off and handed it to me. “Whatever my girl wants, my girl gets.” He opened his own beer before wrapping a hand around my waist and leading me off the porch into the crowd. It wasn’t a huge crowd, but not small either.
“Rooster.” Jake called, and a man in a brown leather jacket and khakis turned around to face us. He had a bag slung over his shoulder and a whip attached to his waist. I smirked as we approached and he flicked his hat up. “I always knew someday you'd come walking back through my door.” I said and he chuckled before pulling me into a hug. “Hey, that’s my line!” I turned to see Natasha walking over in a stunning white dress with a white rose on it. “This,” I said, pointing at her Marion Ravenwood costume. “Is scary accurate. You look exactly like her.” I said and she smiled, holding the dress out slightly. “You think?” She asked and Jake nodded. “Rooster could look like Indiana, but he’d have to shave the mustache first.” Rooster immediately covered his mustache. “The mustache goes nowhere. It stays.” He said, making us laugh. Soon a song came on and Jake dragged me into a dance. He pulled my body flush against his, his thigh almost between mine as his hand rested on my back, and my arm slung around his shoulder. “I’m very proud of my costume choices.” He said, smirking down at me, not hiding the fact his eyes drifted across my breasts. “Mhm, I’m sure you are Mr. Seresin.” I said and he roughly tugged me closer. “Say it again.” His voice dropped an octave and I wanted to melt in his arms. “Mr.Seresin.” He leaned down kissing me possessively. “Damn, do I want to take you home right now.” He said and I giggled, kissing his cheek. “But we just got here and I wanna stay.” I said, whining slightly. He just chuckled and smiled at me. “Fine, but you’re all mine later.” He said, and I smiled up at him. “I’m yours every night.”
“Well don’t you two look cozy.” I looked behind Jake and laughed. Jake raised a brow and turned around and laughed with me. “This is hilarious!” Bob, Payback, Coyote and Fanboy were all dressed up in Ghostbusters costumes. “I think they’re pretty accurate!” Payback said, spinning around. “They are!” I said, tugging on his jumpsuit. “It just matches y’all’s personality so well.” They all grinned and struck a pose, making us laugh. “How about you get me another beer, then we can have another dance.” I said, resting my hand on Jake’s chest and he just smiled at me before nodding and heading for a cooler. “There’s so many people here.” It was a very crowded party. “Mav was very selective about who he invited.” Fanboy said as he stood next to me. “Is that your way of telling me I have nothing to worry about?” I asked and he chuckled. “Yeah. It is.” I smiled as Jake came back and handed me a second beer. “So, about that second dance?” He asked and I laughed, nodding. “Whenever you want.”
We spent the next few hours dancing and Jake kept a constant rotation of drinks in my hand. “Okay,” I said, fumbling my words slightly. “I have to go pee. I’ll be right back.” I leaned up and kissed him. “Alright, darlin’.” With that I turned and walked away inside the house. I had to stop and think because I couldn’t remember exactly where Penny told me the bathroom was, but thankfully after a minute I found it. I went inside, seeing my mascara gathering under my eyes slightly. I giggled at myself in the mirror before cleaning up my face and using the bathroom. Once I was done, I washed my hands and fixed my hair in the mirror before admiring myself. I swung the bathroom door open, stepping out and starting down the hall. “Hey.” My eyes were a little cloudy as I looked up. While his face wasn’t clear, I knew immediately who it was by the height and the cologne. “What are you doing here?” My voice was steady when I said it, no ounce of fear could be detected, while deep down I was absolutely terrified. “It’s a party isn’t it?” Blake responded. “Besides, I haven’t seen you in a while. Thought we could catch up.” His hands fell to my waist and he stumbled forward as I backed myself into the wall. “Don’t touch me.” I snapped, smacking his hands from my waist but he was persistent. “Oh come on, Katie. We could’ve had so much fun that night on our date.” I scoffed, the adrenaline sobering me up some. “If you consider a broken nose fun then sure.” I said as I side stepped away from him. “Broken bones heal. We could give it one more shot.” He grinned at me. “You need to leave. Now! I have never had an interest in you and I never will. I have a boyfriend and I love him. So leave.” I snapped at him. “Hangman?” He laughed, gripping my wrist tightly. “He doesn’t love you, Katie. He’s too self absorbed to love anyone but himself. He’s only keeping you around because you boost his ego.” I knew he was only trying to get in my head. “You know nothing about him. Now let me go!” I said, lifting my right foot and kicking him in the gut, effectively sending him to the floor.
His body thudded against the floor just as Natasha came around the corner. “Oh hell no. Bradley!” She said. “It’s okay, Natasha. I’ve got this handled.” I stormed towards him just as he was trying to get up. “Come on.” I hoisted him up and managed to drag him into the living room just as Bradley walked in, Mav and Jake behind him. “Katie-” Natasha stopped him. “She’s got this.” She said and Blake could hardly get his feet under him while I had him by a belt loop and the collar of his shirt. “Alright Blake.” I opened the door and stood him up straight and he turned on me. “I’ll make you regret everything, you little bitch.” He said and I smirked. “I don’t think I will. Bye, Blake.” I gave him a smile and wave, before once again, lifting my foot and literally kicking him out the door before I slammed it. I turned to everyone, a wide grin on my face. “You okay?” Jake asked, eyeing me warily. “I am great!” I said and he smiled, coming over to me and pulling me into his arms. “I love you, and that was so hot.” He whispered the last part because everyone was staring at us. “It’s a party!” I said. “Let’s go back outside and have fun!” I said. Jake grabbed my hand, pulling me back towards the backyard, following everyone else.
We partied until about two a.m. and Jake carried me back out to the truck. “I had so much fun.” I slurred and he laughed. Jake only had two beers when we got here and quit drinking by ten p.m. “You definitely did, Darlin’.” He set me down long enough to open the door and help me in before buckling my seat belt and kissing my head. The ride home was quiet except for the radio playing quietly and me humming along. As we got home I had sobered up and managed to trudge my way up the stairs. I felt exhausted and just wanted to curl up with Jake and sleep. We got undressed, took a quick shower before crawling into our bed. “I’m proud of you for tossing him out like that.” Jake said as he tossed his arm over my shoulder and pulled me into him. “It felt good to put my foot down.” I responded and we sat in silence for a minute until he opened his mouth to ask what I knew would come up eventually. “Did he-” “Yes he made a pass at me, and I told him no and that I loved you.” I looked up at him, a small smile on my face as his finger brushed across my cheek. “He also tried to get in my head and tell me you didn’t actually love me, but I know better.” He smiled down at me, his nose brushing my own. “I’m so happy that I’ve made it clear how I feel for you, Katie. I don’t ever want you to doubt my feelings for you.” I smiled and kissed him softly. “I won’t Jake. I promise.” He squeezed me closer to him, cradling me as I drifted off to sleep.
The following Monday was Halloween and I was more than happy when class was over. “Think you and Jake will have a bunch of kids come by for candy?” Annie asked. “I’m not sure. It’s a decent neighborhood but there’s not many kids and I’m sure parents will take their kids to the bigger neighborhoods for better candy.” The sun was very bright in my eyes as we stepped outside and I moved my sunglasses off my head to cover my eyes. “How many bags did you get?” Brooke asked. “We got five of the giant bulk bags just in case.” They laughed at my answer. “That’s so much! What are you going to do with the rest?” Annie asked and I shrugged. “Eat it?” It came out as more of a question. “Well if you do eat it, don’t make yourself sick! Those stomach aches are the worst.” Annie said, turning a little green. “Oh yeah, didn’t you tell me you ate a whole three giant bags of sour candy a few years ago?” Brooke asked and Annie blushed. “I failed a major test and got broken up with on the same day. Cut me some slack!” We all laughed. “Well I’ll let y’all know how tonight turns out. See you tomorrow!” I waved before heading for my truck.
Once I was home I found Jake pulling a sheet pan full of veggies out of the oven. “Oh wow, you’re home early. And cooking?” I asked as I set my bag down. “Well it is four thirty, kids will be coming around real soon. I’m gonna blend these into a sauce and cook some chicken. Why don’t you get dressed?” He asked, leaning over to kiss my lips. “Yes, sir.” I said, giving him a lax salute before wandering upstairs. I took my time changing into the jeans for my costume but I tossed a t-shirt on, not wanting to get anything on the top for my costume. I touched up my hair and did my makeup before going back downstairs, just in time for dinner. “Gorgeous, but where’s your top?” He asked, setting my plate on the table. “I’ll put it on after dinner. Don’t wanna get any of this sauce on it.” He smiled, pulling out my chair and letting me sit down. “So how busy do you think it’ll be tonight?” I asked and he shrugged. “I’m not too sure. I’ve talked to a few neighbors but they say it varies each year.” I nodded. “I hope we get a lot, honestly. I always enjoyed seeing people in our neighborhoods growing up.” He smiled at me. “Me too. I miss seeing my nieces and nephews trick-or-treating.” I smiled at him just as the doorbell went off. “I got it. Go put your costume on.” I said as I got up and made my way to the door.
After a few kids coming to the door, Jake and I managed to finish our food and make our way outside. “TWICK-OR-TWEAT!” A tiny voice said as a little girl came sprinting up the driveway and to the porch. She has on a pink princess dress and her hair in little pigtails. “Twick-or-Tweat!” She said again as she made it to the porch. “Well aren’t you the cutest princess.” Jake said, kneeling down to her level and holding the bucket of candy out to her. “Thank you.” She said as she stuck her hand in the bowl, grabbing a piece of candy. “Wow.” She said as she turned to me. “You’re da pwettiest cowgorl.” She said and I smiled at her. “Thank you, I really like your dress.” She smiled, twirling a little. “My mommy made it!” She said excitedly. “Lacey! Come on!” She turned to the couple standing in the driveway watching her. “Bye bye!” She waved, rushing off. “She was absolutely adorable!” I said, barely able to contain myself and Jake turned, smiling at me. “Can I ask you something?” He asked as we sat on the steps. “Of course.” I said, taking his hand. “Have you ever-” We were cut off by a ton of kids rushing the house and screaming.
The next morning I was shaking, my nerves eating me alive. “It’ll be okay.” I said to myself in the mirror as I got my scrubs on. It is finally day one of clinicals and I have no idea how I’m going to do it. I made my way downstairs to find my lunch packed with leftovers from last night with a note on top. “You’ve got this darling. I love you and have a great day.” I smiled as I tucked it into my lunch bag before grabbing everything and heading out the door. I drove to Scripps Mercy Hospital which was kind of close to base but I still had about a thirty minute drive to get there. By the time I pulled in, I was half an hour early. I would normally sit in my truck but I was nervous so I decided to get out and make my way inside. I hiked from the back of the parking lot where we were told to park and was glad when I stepped through the door. “Hi.” I said to the security guard at the front desk. “I’m doing clinicals in the ER today.” He nodded. “Can I see your student ID?” I nodded, fishing it out of my bag and handing it to him. “Good.” He said as he hit the button under the desk and the double doors opened. “You can put your stuff in the break room, third door on the right. The charge nurse will meet all of you there.” I nodded and thanked him before wandering through the doors and back where he told me.
As I walked in there was a girl sitting at the table eating and I smiled at her. “Student?” She asked and I nodded. “Yeah.” I said as my face grew warm. “I showed up an hour early on my first day of clinicals, too. You’ll be fine.” She said before biting into some bacon. I smiled at her and set my bag and lunch box in a corner. “Thank you. I’m Katie.” I said as I sat a few chairs down. “Crystal.” She said in reply. “How long have you been a nurse for?” She chuckled at me. “About fifteen years.” My eyebrows raised. “I’m sorry but you don’t look old enough to have been a nurse that long.” She laughed as she took the last bite of her food. “Well thank you, you just made my day.” I smiled at her. “But yes, fifteen years and man has it felt like fifteen years.” I nodded and the door opened. “Oh thank god! I was scared to be the first here!” Brooke said as she walked in. I laughed as she set her bag down. Soon a few other girls filed in, Annie being last. The class was split up between four different departments here in the hospital and I’m glad I got to start in the ED. We all sat around talking and Crystal went out to start her shift as we waited. “Good morning, ladies.” We turned to see a tall black woman standing in the doorway in royal blue scrubs. “I hope you’re all ready for your day. It’s going to be a lot to take in. I am Mya Woods, the charge nurse here at Scripps Mercy. Tell me yours.” We all went around introducing ourselves. “Alright. Now that we have that out of the way, follow me. We’ll start with a tour of the hospital.” We followed her out the door and she lead us out to a lobby past the ED. She took us to the lab, radiology, cardiology, neurology, surgery, and every other department in the hospital. By the time we got the rundown it was two o’clock and I was starving. “Okay, you have half an hour to eat. When you get back we’ll go over policy and procedure.” We all nodded and I trudged back to the break room and grabbed my lunch.
“Hey Katie, we’re all gonna go eat outside. Want to join?” Starla, a girl in my class asked as I waited for my food to heat up. I’ve talked to the other girls in class and they’re all nice but we’ve never really spent time together. “Uh, sure.” I replied, grabbing my food and phone before heading outside. There was a large round stone table outside and we all squeezed in. “I feel like we’ve been here for ten hours.” Starla said as she rolled her neck. “If every day is going to be like this, then I don’t know if I can do this.” She said and Brooke replied. “I think Thursday will go over better, we’ll be paired up and we can start actual work, no more SOP’s and all that.” Brooke responded. “I sure hope you’re right.” Starla said and everyone else agreed. After lunch we sat in a conference room and went over all the policies and procedures and it was hard for me to focus or stay awake. So I was relieved when five came and I could leave. I gathered all my stuff and we all trekked out to our cars. “Back to the classroom tomorrow.” Annie said as she got to her car. “Joy.” I muttered as I dragged my feet to my truck. I was exhausted and was ready to sleep.
I managed to drive home and by the time I hit the drive way I could’ve just slept in my truck but I dragged myself out. I opened the door and could hardly keep my eyes open. “Hi darlin’.” Jake said, grinning at me with his hands behind his back. “Hi.” I murmured. “What are you hiding?” I asked as I gave him a small smile. He pulled out a vase with roses in it and held it out to me. “Aw Jake. You shouldn’t have.” I took the vase as he took my backpack and lunch bag from me. “Well you deserve it. This is a big step and I’m so proud of everything you’ve done.” He pulled me into him, kissing my forehead. “What do you want for dinner?” He asked. “Pizza.” I said and he chuckled. “Go change and I’ll order it.” I nodded and turned, going upstairs to our room. I sat on the bed and untied my shoes, sighing in relief as I wiggled my toes. “A minute wouldn’t hurt.” I muttered to myself, lying back on the bed. But I quickly drifted off to sleep.
“Are you sure you’ll be okay?” Jake asked as he checked my forehead again. “Yes, Jake. I’m not going to class and I have an eight a.m. doctor's appointment. It’s probably just the flu.” I said, my eyes drifting closed. It was currently Thursday and I was missing our second day of clinicals. Rebecca sent me home early yesterday because I was still really fatigued and started getting a fever. Thankfully, Jake was successful at getting my fever down last night. “Well I'll call and check in with you around lunch time okay?” He asked and I nodded. He leaned down and kissed my temple before leaving for work. It was five-thirty so I had plenty of time to go back to sleep. I slept until seven and got up, sliding on some athletic shorts and one of Jake’s t-shirts before making my way out the door. I was early for my appointment so after I filled out the paperwork I sat in the chair, my head lolling to the side. “Blair?” I immediately stood. “Hi.” I muttered as the medical assistant smiled at me. “Oh dear, let’s get you checked out and get you something to make you feel better.” I nodded as she led me back. We got my weight which went up and then she took my vitals. My temperature was back up, but everything else was normal. “Alright, Dr. Downs will be in in just a moment.” I nodded and sat there quietly, anxious to go back home and go to bed.
A knock sounded on the door and it opened. “Katie. I’m Dr. Downs, nice to meet you.” The woman greeted as she came in. “Nice to meet you too.” She sat down with an ipad and smiled at me. “So, why don’t you tell me a little about what’s going on?” She said. “Well, I’m exhausted and I thought it was just from my first day of clinicals.” “Nursing school?” She asked and I nodded. “Yeah.” “That’s amazing.” I smiled at her. “I obviously have a fever, my body aches and I’m getting a headache. I’m pretty sure it’s the flu.” She nodded. “Well I will get some tests and blood work ordered right away, but you’re probably right. It’s most likely the flu.” I nodded as she typed some stuff in. “You’re not on any medications, right?” I nodded. “Correct.” She nodded. “Not even for your ADHD or depression?” I furrowed my brows at her. “Uh, yes. I have neither of those.” She raised an eyebrow. “Your full name is Katherine Scarlett Blair and your birthday is December thirteenth nineteen ninety eight right?” I nodded. “Parents are Meredith and Richard Blair?” I nodded.
“Yeah, it says right here you were evaluated at five years old. Child shows clear and obvious signs of attention deficit hyperactive disorder with autistic traits, but does not meet the criteria to be diagnosed with autism. Child also suffers from major depressive disorder-” “Stop. You have the wrong chart. That is not mine.” I said, my hand shaking as I held it up. “Katie. Look…” I walked over and there was a photo of me attached at age five. “I know it’s hard to believe-” “I’ve never been told about this a day in my life. I want a copy of that.” She nodded. “Okay. I’ll get this printed and get your tests ready.” I nodded and sat back down. The nurse came in and drew my blood and swabbed my throat and I waited some more, anxiety eating me alive. “Well, your flu test is positive. I’ll call in an antiviral for you.” I nodded and she handed me a large stack of papers. “That is your entire diagnosis. I’m sorry, Katie.” She said and I sighed, clutching the papers. “If you have any questions, the psychologist you saw is retired, but his partner is still there. You can call them, or you can call here and I’ll help you as best I can.” I nodded, standing. “Thank you, Dr. Downs.” She nodded. “You’re welcome.”
I walked out, paid for the appointment with the credit card Jake left me and got back in the truck. I stared down at the papers in my hands, reading them in detail. Every agonizing detail and tears streaked my face as I looked at it. Once I was done I propped my arm on the window, staring out the window as I scratched a bump on my face. “Fuck it.” I tossed everything on the bench seat and pulled out of the parking lot. I drove in silence, my mind racing with every thought imaginable. It couldn’t be true, but it also makes some sense. My heart rate picked up as I turned down the familiar street and I thought I would pass out as I pulled in the driveway. Before I could lose my nerve I grabbed the papers and my phone before storming up to the front door. I slammed my fist on the door multiple times, making my anger ever so clear. I was about to do it again when the door swung open and I stared my mother in the face. “We need to have a fucking conversation. Right now.” I said before shoving past her and into the house.

got any favorite laramie episodes? i can't stop watching "the confederate express" & the one in season 2 where slim gets pushed off a cliff.
also, is there any robert fuller whump in wagon train or emergency!? thanks!
Hey thanks for the ask!!
I’m procrastinating homework so I drew you up a quick list of my favorites from the shows you’ve mentioned. Two notes:
1. I’m a Jess girly so almost all of the Laramie favs are Jess-centric, but I’ll mark some of the more nuanced ones.
2. There are other whumpy eps of Wagon Train (ftr Coop is only seasons 7-8) and Laramie, these are just some of my personal favorites.
emergency 2.4 Virus - Dr Brackett gets a mysterious illness and also passes out knocking over a chair.
emergency 6.12 Lose Ends - Dr Brackett ends up in a car wreck with a concussion. Very nice moment where his medical coworkers realize that he’s one of the crash victims.
Wagon train
7.09 The Eli Bancroft Story - beat up and then left to die in the desert with a few other people. Found by friend and gets head cradled which I’m a fan of. Lots of angst.
8.05 The Barbara Lindquist Story - I made gifs of part of this ep (because it’s so good). He gets knocked unconscious and then shot in the leg (and left in the desert again) which gets infected and he almost loses his leg but not before being pale and delirious for awhile.
8.10 The Richard Bloodgood Story - this one was kind of weird, but there’s a lot of angst and he gets shot in the shoulder in a very satisfying way.
8.23 The Katy Piper Story - he’s not the main character of this one but he does get shot with an arrow and his friend is pretty mad about it.
Laramie
1.10 The General Must Die - Shot Off horse. People think he’s dead.
1.11 Dark Verdict - Jess has angst, Slim gets hurt, Jess feels terrible about it.
1.15 Night of the Quiet Man - shot in stage coach robbery offscreen. Found unconscious on the ground in the aftermath.
1.27 The Protectors - pistol-whipped and thrown off moving train.
2.5 Ride Into Darkness - beat bloody and then knocked unconscious and left for dead in a house fire.
2.9 License to Kill - nice scene of Jess yelling at Slim while Slim bandages his injuries for him. special bonus: Jess falls off horse from exhaustion and has to be helped up (against his will). Underrated swamp scenes.
2.26 Killers Odds - ambushed and beat up. Carried into house and cared for by Slim and Mort. Iconic scene.
2.27 Bitter Glory - shot in the shoulder
2.31 Men in Shadows - this is the only episode since the pilot where Slim punches Jess. Jess doesn’t hit him back and Slim feels awful. I remember seeing the tension in this scene for the first time and being like “this show is DIFFERENT”
3.26 Turn of the Wheel - both of them get hurt. Both get protective of each other.
4.1 Among the Missing - bad head wound. After care.
4.6 Lost Allegiance - broken ribs for whole episode also falls off horse
4.19 The Fugitives - Slim gets shot and Jess tries to tear the town apart about it.
4.20 The Dispossessed - Jess gets knocked out and has cute hair, but mostly I just like that the episode is focused on both of them equally and they aren’t disagreeing on anything. Wish there were more like this.
4.25 Edge of Evil - Jess gets thwacked but he’s also just kinda cute in this one especially.
4.26 Broken Honor - Falls off a cliff and carried to safety. All cut up and bloody with a fever:
4.29 The Marshals - shot in the chest. Most of the episode is people being angsty about keeping him alive.

“I don’t care about your family’s situation! I care about you.”
|Cooper Bradford x Boy! Otto! Reader
ꕥWarningsꕥ: Fighting
ꕥSummaryꕥ: (Reader) and Cooper get into a fight about whether or not (reader) is good enough for Cooper
“I don’t care about your family’s situation! I care about you.”
The sun’s rays poured through your white curtains, burning your closed eyes. You rolled around in your pink silk sheets, reluctantly deciding it was time to face the day. Reaching for your phone, a smile crept across your face as you glanced at the lockscreen: Cooper, with his charming grin, standing next to your golden retriever, Luther. His brown, milk chocolate hair and perfect white teeth always made your heart flutter.
Unlocking your phone, you scrolled through TikTok for a few minutes before a text from “coop💗🏳️🌈🤑” lit up the screen: “Good morning to my favorite boy <3. How’d you sleep?” You beamed at the screen, responding, “Good morning, Cooper 🫶! I slept well. U?”
After a few more back-and-forth texts, you reluctantly informed him that you needed to get up.
In your closet, you decided on one of Cooper's oversized T-shirts that hung loosely on your frame, providing comfort and a hint of his scent. The fabric felt warm against your skin, and you smiled at the thought of him. You made your way to the bathroom, only to find Oliver hogging it with one of his marathon showers.
“Oliver! Get out of there! You’ve been in forever!” you yelled, knocking on the door.
When he finally opened it, clad only in a towel, you barged past him, locking the door behind you. As you brushed your teeth, you played your music—today’s vibe was all about Chappell Roan, a fitting choice for the energy you hoped to carry through the day.
Once in the car, you turned to your mom. “Oh yeah, Mom, can Cooper please come over after school?”
“(Reader), you know I don’t like Cooper. He’s rich and snobby!” Katie exclaimed, her tone dripping with disapproval.
“But Mom! I’m gonna help him with his… math.” You clasped your hands together, trying your best puppy-dog eyes.
“Why does he need you to tutor him? He can pay someone,” she shot back, her expression skeptical.
“Mom, he’s my boyfriend! Plus, I’m helping him transform!” you insisted, emphasizing “transform” with flair.
Oliver chimed in, “I wish we were rich enough to pay someone to do my homework!”
Katie rolled her eyes, clearly used to this dynamic. “Alright! Get out of the car, all of you!”
Protests erupted, but she ushered you all out, and you hurried to find Cooper. When you spotted him, you waved goodbye to Taylor and Anna-Kat.
“Hey, C.” You greeted him with a hug, a quick peck on the cheek leaving you both grinning.
“Hey, no PDA around me, please. I’m already grossed out being the third wheel,” Oliver muttered, crossing his arms.
“Dude, you’re my best friend. No way your brother will come between us,” Cooper replied, wrapping an arm around Oliver’s shoulder and fist-bumping him.
Classes flew by, but during gym class, everything changed. The coach announced it was time for some relay races, and Cooper, always competitive, was ready to show off. As the warm-up began, he pulled off his shirt, revealing his toned torso. You felt your heart race, your cheeks flushing as you took in the sight.
“Dude, you’re distracting!” Oliver teased, rolling his eyes, but even he couldn’t help but glance at Cooper.
You couldn’t help but fawn over him, your eyes sparkling. “You look amazing!” you exclaimed, unable to contain your admiration.
Cooper shot you a confident grin, basking in the attention. “Thanks! Just trying to keep up my athleticism,” he said, flexing playfully. You felt a warm glow of pride, knowing he was yours.
During the race, every stride Cooper took seemed more impressive than the last. As he crossed the finish line, you clapped enthusiastically, feeling a wave of pride wash over you. He ran over, slightly out of breath, his smile infectious.
“Did you see that?” he beamed, his eyes shining. “I think I could go pro!”
“You were incredible! Honestly, I could watch you all day,” you replied, giving him a soft nudge with your shoulder.
The rest of the day felt like a whirlwind of excitement, and after school, you both settled at the kitchen island to tackle some math homework. “Alright, Cooper, now all you have to do is divide eight by both sides to cancel out the x,” you explained patiently.
“You’re so smart. You know that?” Cooper said, leaning in closer, his eyes sparkling with admiration.
You smiled, feeling your heart flutter again. Just then, Anna-Kat burst in. “Hey, can you help me with my project?” she asked, bouncing on her toes.
“Sure! What do you need?” Cooper replied, always eager to help.
You chuckled as Anna-Kat began dragging Cooper off to her room, whispering excitedly about her project. You felt a pang of jealousy but couldn’t help but laugh at the two of them. It was sweet to see him engage so easily with your siblings.
Later that evening, you and Cooper settled on the couch for some downtime. You were wrapped in a soft blanket, the television flickering with a show you both loved. As you leaned against him, he draped his arm around your shoulders, pulling you closer.
“You know,” he said, his voice soft, “I really enjoy these moments with you. Just us.”
“Me too,” you replied, feeling the warmth of his body beside you. “I wouldn’t trade it for anything.”
As the night wore on, the cozy atmosphere made you both a little bolder. You found yourselves laughing and teasing, sharing inside jokes. When your parents walked in, they caught you two in a moment of playful shoving, giggling as you tried to get comfortable on the couch.
“Get a room!” Taylor called out, a playful smirk on her face.
“Come on, you know we’re just studying,” you shot back, laughing.
As the evening drew to a close, you both wandered to your room, ready to call it a night. You snuggled into your bed, and Cooper flopped down next to you, pulling the blankets up to your chins.
“Hey, want to watch a movie?” he asked, his eyes sparkling.
“Only if we can cuddle!” you replied, a cheeky grin spreading across your face.
“Deal!” he said, settling in closer.

The next day brought a new energy, and you both walked into school, hand in hand. As you strolled through the halls, a few kids shot glances your way, some admiring and some whispering. You tried to ignore the latter but felt a flicker of self-consciousness.
During lunch, while seated with Taylor, Oliver, and Anna-Kat, you noticed a group of kids nearby snickering. One of the moms, Tara, walked by, her voice dripping with disdain as she commented on your relationship. “Look at them, holding hands like it’s a fairy tale. Adorable, isn’t it?”
You felt your cheeks flush, and you turned to Cooper, who immediately noticed your discomfort. “Don’t let them get to you,” he said softly, squeezing your hand.
“I know, but it’s hard not to feel weird about it,” you admitted, glancing down.
“Forget them. You and I are what matters,” he assured you, leaning in to give you a quick kiss, making your heart flutter despite the negativity around you. “Honestly, they’re just jealous because they’ll never have what we do.”
However, after lunch, you couldn’t shake the feelings of doubt. Later that day, while on a study date, you confronted Cooper about Tara's comments. “Maybe she has a point. I mean, you’re rich, and I… I don’t know if I fit into your world,” you said hesitantly, your voice shaking.
Cooper looked taken aback, brows furrowing. “(Reader), you can’t seriously believe that! I like you for who you are, not for what you have! Those comments are just mean-spirited nonsense.”
“But she makes it sound so easy for you to be with someone else. Someone who fits your lifestyle better,” you shot back, frustration boiling beneath the surface.
“Why are you letting her get to you? This is between us, not her!” he replied, his voice rising defensively. “I don’t care if you don’t come from money. That has nothing to do with how I feel about you!”
“Maybe I wouldn’t feel this way if you didn’t flaunt your wealth all the time!” you snapped, tears brimming in your eyes.
Cooper's face fell, and after a moment of silence, he turned away. “If you really believe that, maybe you should reconsider this whole thing.” With that, he stormed out, leaving you alone, heart racing and tears spilling down your cheeks.
Feeling utterly broken, you slid down the wall, sobs wracking your body. Just then, Oliver walked in, his expression shifting from confusion to concern as he rushed to your side. “What happened?” he asked gently.
“I—Cooper and I… we fought. He thinks I don’t want to be with him,” you managed to say between sobs.
Oliver wrapped an arm around you, pulling you close. “Hey, it’s going to be okay. You two care about each other too much to let this ruin things.”
Moments later, Anna-Kat and Taylor burst in, immediately sensing the tension. “What’s wrong?” Anna-Kat exclaimed, voice laced with concern. “Cooper and I… We– we fought a-a-nd now… I think we might break up.” You said as you clutched onto Oliver’s shirt, putting your face in his shoulder, wetting his shirt.
Your three siblings had all gathered around you, comforting you and talking you through your immense pain you were going through. You didn’t know if you were going to be in a relationship with Cooper anymore and that scared you.
The school day came around the next day, but the echoes of your argument with Cooper lingered like a bittersweet melody in your mind. You navigated through classes with your siblings, but every time your gaze flickered to Cooper, your heart raced. You couldn’t shake the feeling that your earlier words might have left a scar.
At lunch, you joined Taylor, Oliver, and Anna-Kat at their usual table. They chatted animatedly, but your thoughts were elsewhere. You absentmindedly poked at your food, listening but not really absorbing anything.
“Earth to (Reader)!” Taylor exclaimed, waving her hand in front of your face. “What’s up with you? You’ve been super quiet.”
“I’m just… thinking,” you mumbled, glancing over at Cooper, who sat with his friends, his laughter ringing across the cafeteria.
“Thinking about Cooper?” Anna-Kat teased, wiggling her eyebrows. “Ooh, is there drama?”
“Not drama, just… confusion,” you admitted, biting your lip. “I don’t want to lose him.”
Taylor frowned. “You two love each other. Just talk it out.”
Oliver chimed in, “Yeah, just don’t do that weird ‘silent treatment’ thing. It makes it worse.”
As you watched Cooper joke around with his friends, a part of you felt a flicker of jealousy. The way he smiled, carefree and charming, made your heart ache. You remembered how he’d defended you just the day before, how his gaze had softened when you were vulnerable. The thought gave you courage.
“Alright, I’m going to talk to him,” you said suddenly, determination filling you.
“Go get him, tiger!” Oliver cheered, giving you a playful shove.
You took a deep breath, pushing through the crowd until you reached Cooper's table. He looked up, surprised, and the laughter faded from his eyes.
“Can we talk?” you asked, your voice steady despite the nervous flutter in your stomach.
“Sure,” he replied, rising from his seat. You led him to a quieter corner of the cafeteria, heart pounding in your chest.
“I’m really sorry about what I said yesterday,” you began, meeting his gaze. “I let Tara’s words get to me, and I didn’t mean to hurt you. You’re worth so much more than that.”
Cooper’s expression softened, but you could see the remnants of hurt in his eyes. “I just don’t want you to feel inadequate. You’re perfect as you are. I like you for who you are, not for your family’s situation.”
“I know,” you whispered, feeling a wave of relief wash over you. “But sometimes it feels like I don’t belong in your world, and it scares me.”
“(Reader),” he said, stepping closer, “you belong with me. I don’t care about my wealth. I care about you and us. That’s all that matters.”
The sincerity in his voice made your heart swell, and you reached out, taking his hand in yours. “Thank you for saying that. I don’t want to let anyone, even Tara, come between us.”
A small smile broke across his face. “Good. Let’s not give anyone that power.”
Just then, a familiar voice broke the moment. “Ugh, get a room!” Anna-Kat teased, peeking around the corner with Taylor and Oliver in tow.
You both laughed, the tension lifting. “Alright, you caught us,” you said playfully.
“I knew it!” Anna-Kat exclaimed, bouncing on her feet. “You guys are the cutest!”
“Just admit it, you love us,” Cooper said, grinning.
As the lunch bell rang, you all headed back to class, the air lighter now. The rest of the day passed in a blur of laughter and stolen glances between you and Cooper.

After school, you returned home, the atmosphere buzzing with energy. You found Cooper in the kitchen, chatting with your mom while she prepared dinner. “Hey, lovebirds! How was school?” Katie teased, winking at you both.
“It was good,” you replied, feeling a warmth spread through you. Cooper grinned, leaning against the counter.
“Are you two finally going to start planning your wedding?” she joked, stirring a pot.
“Mom!” you exclaimed, your cheeks flushing. Cooper laughed, his gaze playful.
Once dinner was on the table, the family gathered around, and conversation flowed easily. As everyone chatted, you couldn’t help but steal glances at Cooper, who was animatedly discussing a recent basketball game. His confidence was infectious, and you found yourself hanging onto his every word.
Later, after dinner, you both retreated to your room. The comforting familiarity of your space surrounded you, and you settled onto your bed, pulling out a deck of cards.
“Want to play?” you asked, shuffling the cards playfully.
“Sure, but I warn you, I’m a card shark!” he replied, flashing a competitive grin.
As the game progressed, laughter filled the room, and you playfully accused him of cheating whenever he won. “You’re just too good!” you laughed, feigning frustration.
“Maybe I’m just that good looking and talented,” he quipped, leaning closer with a teasing smile.
Just then, Oliver burst in, a dramatic expression on his face. “Ew! Can you two not be all mushy and PDA-y in front of me?”
You couldn’t help but laugh at his antics. “We weren’t doing anything!”
“You were totally about to, though!” he retorted, crossing his arms dramatically. “I swear, you guys are way too touchy-feely.”
Cooper leaned back, a smirk on his face. “Just admit it, you’re jealous because no one’s cuddling with you.”
“Ugh, no! I just think it’s gross!” Oliver protested, but the corners of his mouth twitched in a smile.
Anna-Kat peeked in, overhearing the commotion. “What’s wrong? Is there too much cuteness happening?”
“Yes!” Oliver groaned, throwing his hands up. “It’s unbearable!”
You and Cooper exchanged amused glances, and the atmosphere felt warm and full of love. “Come join us, Oliver!” Cooper invited playfully.
“Not a chance!” he replied, rolling his eyes as he backed out of the room. “Just keep it PG, please!”
After Oliver left, you turned to Cooper, and he leaned closer, brushing your shoulder with his hand. “What do you want to do now?”
You grinned, “How about a movie?”
“Sounds perfect,” he said, settling beside you, the warmth radiating from him soothing your heart. As the movie played, you felt your eyes droop, your head resting against his shoulder.
“Hey,” he whispered, his voice soft, “are you falling asleep on me?”
“Maybe,” you murmured, stifling a yawn.
“Don’t worry. I’ve got you,” he said, wrapping his arm around you, pulling you closer.
You smiled, content and safe in his embrace, grateful for every moment shared.

Farmer and a Daryl
FLUFF
Daryl and the reader have some confessions to make.
Daryl x gn!reader (request from @scoutandtank , I really hope you like it!!)
Warnings: none
It was another hot summer day in Letterkenny and you were busy chorin’ as usual. You couldn’t wait to finish your work and reward yourself with an ice cold Puppers. As you finished cleaning out the chicken coop, you heard a car pull up into your farm’s driveway. You recognized the dilapidated van right away, your heart fluttering in your chest. As the van sputtered to a stop, you sauntered over.
“What’s a fine man like you doing out in a place like this?”
Daryl leaned with his arm rested on the now opened van door, a blush resting on his face (he convinced himself, though, that it was so hot outside that his skin was just naturally warming up).
“Y/n! I was just coming over to see if you wanted to go to MoDeans with me. And the boys. And Katy too, of course.”
You studied him closely. He seemed nervous to talk to you today. At least he was actually talking to you this time. Lately, Daryl had this weird habit of bouncing between nervousness, flirtation, and downright ignoring you when you were near each other. You couldn’t deny the hurt you felt when he chose not to talk to you because not only is he one of your closest friends, but you were really sweet on him. You tried asking Wayne, you interrogated Squirrely Dan, but none of the boys could explain his behavior and you were determined to find out why—one of these days.
Putting your hands in the back pockets of your shorts, you pretended to think over your decision.
“Hmm… I guess I could go for a Puppers… or I could stay home by myself with absolutely nothing to do… much to think about, Dary.” Shooting him a smile that he graciously returned, you ran over into the passenger seat of the van. As Daryl made his way into town, you reached over to turn on the air conditioner.
“Oh that doesn’t work. She’s an old van, but she gets the job done without all the fuss of modern technology.”
You felt like you were dying, you were so sweaty. You could only imagine how much of a mess you looked, and in front of Daryl no less. You were a bit embarrassed but too hot to care. You rolled the window down in hopes of catching a slight wind, which worked, to your surprise. Daryl, on the other hand, couldn’t help but notice the very attractive person sitting next to him, making him feel extremely shy. He was self conscious about his van, his looks, his life, and now this absolute gem of a human was in his car, sweat glistening on their face, making them look radiant, the radio playing a love song—it was all too much for him. He reluctantly tore his eyes from your body to keep steering the car on the road while you didn’t notice the war going on in your driver’s head and heart. As you pulled into the bar parking lot, you noticed Daryl got quiet and basically ran out of the car and into the establishment. Like before, you were confused, but maybe you were reading into things too much. You had no idea if Daryl returned your affections and it certainly didn’t seem that way right now. At the very least, you guys have been good friends for many years so you didn’t understand his sudden change in behavior. Sighing, you opened the van door. You really needed that drink now.
Inside, Gail bid you hello, followed by many innuendoes and dirty jokes, but none of it could lift your spirits at the moment. You spotted Daryl with the rest of the Hicks so you sat on an open stool next to Wayne.
“How goes it, Wayne?”
“Y/n, how are ya now?”
You studied the beer bottle gracing your hands and sighed.
“Truthfully, I could be better. Daryl’s been acting weird around me again. One moment we’re chatting it up, then he switches up and shuts down. Has he told you anything? Did I do something?”
Yeah you did something, thought Wayne, you stole Daryl’s heart and he’s completely head over heels in love with you! He talks about you all day long and he’s so ridiculously sweet on you that I’m getting a new cavity at the sound of your name.
“He hasn’t told me anything,” replied Wayne, taking another sip from his bottle, “but you might wanna ask Katy. She’s always, as you kids say, in the know.”
You nodded to him, bidding him adieu for now, and sought out Katy, who was at a table with the hockey boys.
“Y/n! How are you now?”
“I’m good Katy. How about yourself?”
“I’m great. Just enjoying the view,” she said while nodding her head in the general direction of the boys, earning a “right on!” and high fives between Jonesy and Reilly.
You gave them a quick smile and turned your attention back to brunette.
“I actually just had a quick question about Daryl. Do you mind if I take a seat?”
“You two. Scram!” The boys were immediately on their feet and scrambling to another table in the bar.
“What can I help you with?” she asked, smiling sweetly.
“To be honest, I’m not sure. I asked Wayne why Daryl is always so wishy washy around me, you know, cracking jokes one minute and the next totally quiet. It’s like, he knows it’s me that he’s talking to, and then he really looks at me and just… goes quiet. Wayne told me he didn’t know and to come ask you. So here I am.”
Katy started laughing.
“Oh my god. You’re serious? You don’t know?”
Okay, now you were finally getting somewhere.
“No, Katy, I have no idea. Please, you have to tell me.”
She took a deep breath after laughing so hard.
“This is seriously adorable. Y/n, he’s sweet on you. Like, insanely so. He gets all weird because you two are great friends and he doesn’t want his true feelings to show and freak you out. I’d give you more details but I think lover boy would rather tell you himself.” She tipped her bottle in the direction behind you and you turned to be face to face with Daryl himself, beet red.
“Can we, uh, can we go talk somewhere? Um, private? If that’s okay,” Daryl asked, keeping a close eye only on his shoes.
“Of course, Dary.”
When Daryl saw you walking over to talk to Katy after talking to Wayne, he knew he was in trouble.
“Wayne! You didn’t tell y/n about my feelings for them, right?”
“Of course not, Daryl. That’s business between a man and his lover. It’s not my job to kiss and tell or tell someone you wanna kiss ‘em.”
“Okay, but they’re going to Katy! Katy will definitely say something.”
Wayne sighed, took a quick swig of beer, and sighed again.
“Dary. You gotta take a chance in love sometimes. When you find someone as good as y/n, you don’t wanna lose them before you even get them. You know what I mean?”
He nodded and stood up, wiping his sweaty palms on his jeans.
“Alright. Thanks good buddy. Wish me luck.”
Now you found yourself back in the sweltering sun, staring at the man you loved, waiting for him to say something.
“Dary, it’s okay, it’s just me. You don’t have to worry about whatever it is you’re gonna say.”
“But that’s the thing!” he said suddenly, “you’re not just you, not to me. You are so wonderful, so kind, ridiculously attractive, hardworking and it’s hard to think that someone like you would ever return the feelings I have for you. I love you so much, beyond words, but I know that it’s selfish of me. You deserve so much more than broken down van, dirty coverall wearing, plain Daryl.”
He wouldn’t meet your gaze. Tenderly, you lifted his chin up with a soft touch. His eyes were getting watery and it broke your heart to hear that he thought of himself that way.
“Oh Dary.” You grabbed him into a tight hug, savoring the feeling of his hands resting on your back. When you two pulled apart, you kept a firm grip on his shoulders.
“Daryl. You are so much more than your clothes or your car and you are certainly not plain. You are the nicest man I have ever met. You are a person I can rely on at any given time. You’re funny, and so crazy handsome. I love you because you’re you. I wouldn’t take you any other way.”
All of sudden Daryl started giggling.
“Really y/n, you mean that? Like, really, really?”
You shook your head yes.
He exhaled a sigh of relief.
“Oh I was so nervous! I’m sorry I acted weird around you before. We would always have such a good time together but then I would really look at you, especially while you were laughing because your smile is outrageously cute, and I would think, man, whoever gets to see that smile every day is the luckiest man in this entire galaxy. And I would never think that man to be me but hopefully now it can be.”
“I would love nothing more than that. Actually, I would love one thing a little more,” you said, smiling coyly.
Daryl gave you a quizzical look, “Do continue.”
“I would love if you would finally kiss me after all these years.”
His eyes lit up.
“That’s a Texas size 10-4!”

Summary: Oliver and Cooper are left alone...what ever could happen?
⋆ ˚。⋆୨♡୧⋆ ˚。⋆
“Oliver! Amigo, when are you coming downstairs?” Cooper yelled from his very comfortable spot on the couch, he deeply considered walking up stairs to see what was taking his boyfriend so long, but settled on the lazier option. They had the whole house to themselves and they didn’t even need to trick anyone! Greg roped Katie into coming to some history banquet, Trip wanted to surprise Taylor with a mini get away, and Anna-Kat was at Franklins: Cooper is not sure how they got so lucky but he is grateful.
“So impatient, Coop.” A voice came from the top of the stairs followed by slow footsteps descending the stairs. Cooper just stared for a moment mesmerized; Oliver was dressed in a cropped tee (Oliver seriously didn’t mean for it to go that short, all he wanted was a few inches off his old stretched school shirt) and a pair of coopers baggy sweatpants. Cooper could only think the word soft.
“Cooper! Have you been listening to a-“ Cooper had looked up finally but before Oliver could finish scolding him, he stood up and grabbed Oliver by the waist to pull him in for a deep kiss. Oliver gasped but smiled into the kiss.
It was Oliver who broke away from the kiss first, he just smiled and giggled, a little out of breath. “No idea where that came from but I hope there is more.” Cooper laughed a little. He sat down and opened his arm so Oliver could cuddle up to his side. A random movie started playing on their TV but Cooper was the least bit interested. How could he pay attention to some dumb movie where he could predict every move when the most beautiful boy he has ever seen is sitting right beside him.
Cooper really tried to pay attention but after twenty minutes of the movie, he was becoming bored so a plan moved into his head. He began to rub Oliver’s arm slowly and adding pressure gradually. Oliver seemed to appreciate the affection as he leaned in closer, great sign. Cooper then maneuvered his arm under Oliver’s to play with the hem of the cropped tee, this is when Oliver began to notice Cooper’s intentions.
Oliver smirked before turning himself so he was facing Cooper on his lap. “Hey there pretty boy,” Cooper nearly melted at the pet name, he rubbed his hands on Oliver’s thighs before settling on his hips. Oliver leaned down and started to kiss Cooper; the kiss was fast, hot, and full of want/need. Cooper was the one that broke away this time but this was to continue the kisses down the neck.
Hickeys started to form from Cooper’s need to mark Oliver, Oliver knows he should protest, knows he should push Cooper off or at least to where a normal shirt could cover the evidence, but he can’t. Oliver will never say it completely out loud but he loves when Cooper leaves hickeys because it shows to people he is taken and belongs to someone else. (Cooper won’t say it out loud either but he loves seeing his work on his boy and claiming what is his).
The clothes quickly became an issue. Cooper pushed Oliver back so he could take Oliver’s shirt off. He threw it somewhere across the room, they will deal with it later. He went to continue sucking hickeys across his boyfriend’s chest but was stopped. “Not fair.” Oliver grumbled tugging at Cooper’s shirt which soon joined Oliver’s forgotten shirt as well. “Perfect.” They stared at each-other for a moment, just admiring the others beauty and silently wishing the other would realize how beautiful they were. They seemed to know what the other was thinking because they looked up at the same time to meet the other’s eyes.
Oliver began to slightly grind down in a silent plea of more. Cooper heard his cry for more and rubbed his hands up and down the others torso, he stopped at the nipples and began to rub his thumbs in circular motions on Oliver’s nipples. Oliver arched his back forward and let out a high pitches moan. He let out a string of jumbled words like more, more oh please, yes, just like that. Cooper kept playing with one but began to suck on the other one, Oliver threw his head back and tangled his fingers through Cooper’s hair. The grip Oliver had on Cooper’s hair told him he wasn’t going anywhere soon.
Cooper moved his one hand down and under the waistband on Oliver’s boxers, he pulled back and looked up to Oliver, a silent “is this okay?”. Oliver nodded his head quick and gripped onto Cooper’s shoulders for support. He raised his hips slightly so Cooper could push them down just past his butt, he gave it a playful smack. Oliver jumped at the sudden slap but his moan gave away his new kink.
Fingers appeared in front of Oliver’s mouth, he leaned forward and sucked the three fingers. He looked up to see Cooper’s intense stare. He put on a little show by really sucking and moaning. “That is it, baby boy.” Once the fingers were coated enough, Cooper slowly pulled them out entranced by the string that connected them. Oliver couldn’t help find it slightly gross but couldn’t care less because Cooper liked it.
Cooper began to pushing two fingers in, “ahhh, still open after last night.” Oliver groaned out, he tried to defend himself but he couldn’t even think right properly now. Cooper kept pushing the same two fingers in at a very slow pace.
Oliver rocked his hips back to meet Cooper’s fingers, suddenly Oliver gasped and haunted his movements. “Found it.” Cooper laughed, he started to rub circles in that spot causing Oliver to already fall apart. He loved seeing Oliver like this; whiny, needy, responsive.
“I want to go all the way tonight.”
Silence.
Anyone could see the gears turning in Cooper’s head and processing what Oliver had just suggested. “Are-are-are you sure?” Cooper sat up straighter taking his fingers out and rubbing soothing circles on Oliver’s hips. “Because I don’t want you to feel pressured to just because I’m ready but-“ he rambles on but Oliver didn’t seem to mind at all, he found it very cute that Cooper was this flustered.
Oliver finally put him out of his rambling misery and kissed Cooper. “Yes, Im sure.” He couldn’t help but smile at his boyfriend. He looked like you just gave a puppy a new toy. “But I need to be honest with you and you need to be honest with me.”
Coopers smile quickly turned serious, “of course, my amigo”
“First of all, please don’t call me amigo while we are in the middle of this.”
“Done, mi amor.”
“Second of all,” Oliver paused internally debating how he should ask. “This is my first time, I know we have done stuff together but, never this far. Even all the stuff we have done, it was all my first…”
Cooper smiled, “Don’t worry, beautiful boy. It is my first time going all the way.”
Cooper could practically see a weight be lifted off Oliver’s shoulder but a raised eyebrow gave away his curiosity. “You only said this is your first time going all the way…what else have you done?”
“Seriously babe, right now?”
“Yes! Spill!” Oliver crossed his arms, there was no way around this.
“You remember that guy that called into the help line?”
“Of course, Will Hasan. What does he have to-oh my god, you fucked Will Hasan!”
Cooper laughed, “No babe, we just kissed and I may or may not have given him a blow-“
“No more!” Oliver yelled out before kissing Cooper again.
“Well you asked!” Cooper was met with a quiet and quick shut up before Oliver started to suck love marks on his neck. He took this time to reinsert the two fingers along with a third. Oliver moaned at the new stretch.
This went on for a few minutes before Oliver finally looked Cooper in the eyes and boy oh boy was he a sight to see. His hair was everywhere with a little sweat sticking some pieces to his forehead, his pupils were huge, his skin a nice rosy flush, and the love bites from earlier were already starting to show.
He was broken out of his trance when he finally heard, “Cooper! There you are, so how do you want me?” Oliver asked tilting his head slightly, he was definitely nervous but so was Cooper.
“Uhm, lay on your back.” Cooper said with faux confidence, now that it was really happening, he was actually nervous. He didn’t want to hurt his boy, what if he wasn’t good and then he lost Oliver to some football jock who wouldn’t even know how to-
“Baby boy,” Oliver smiled down at him, he knew. “It’s okay, it’s my first time too. I promise there is no judgement, no need to worry and try to impress. I’m here and I’m not going anywhere anytime soon.” Cooper let out a breath of air he didn’t even know he was holding until now.
Oliver stood up for a second to take his pants off with Cooper following suit. “Yeah, okay.” Cooper gently laid Oliver down on the couch and threw Oliver’s leg over his shoulder. He saw it “researching” one night and he also researched what items would be needed. He silently wished that they did receive the basket, he leaned over the table next to them and opened the drawer. Oliver grew curious and looked over.
“That’s been there the whole time!?” Condoms, lube, and even a suspicious looking box took up the small drawer.
Cooper shrugged and muttered something about being prepared and cautious. He ripped open the condom with his teeth and rolled it on with ease. Oliver couldn’t help but stare (and become even more turned on) by his boyfriend. The sound of the lube went unnoticed by Oliver until a cold, wet finger began rubbing circles around his rim.
“Last chance, mi amor. Are you still-“
“Yes please so if you could fuck me nooowwwww,” Cooper didn’t wait for Oliver to finish before he was pushing in. He pushed in every few inches before checking on Oliver. Despite wanting nothing more than to just start, he knew it was Oliver’s first tie and wanted it to be special for him. Once his hips met Oliver’s, they both looked surprised, so caught up on taking it slow.
“Cooper.” Oliver barely got out, his breath gone.
“Yes, my baby boy?”
“Please, fuck me.” Cooper has never heard Oliver even say anything like that. He short circuited for a second before giving a few experimental thrusts, he was gauging how Oliver felt. The slight grind of Oliver’s hips told him very thing he needed to know. He began to move in and out at a fast pace, the sound of Oliver’s high pitched moans and skin on skin contact filled the basement.
“Oh my gosh,” Oliver reached his arms around Cooper’s back leaving scratch marks. “This feels sooo good. Please please please, don’t stop.” Who was Cooper to deny such a beautiful request, he gripped the arm rest on each side of Oliver’s head. At the point, they were moving the whole couch.
The hickeys caught Cooper’s eye, he pushed a finger into one enjoying the wince Oliver let out, “All mine.” Oliver could have melted on the spot.
“I’m close. Oh, oh, oh,” that was all the warning Cooper got before cum coated Oliver’s stomach. He slowed his pace to help fuck through Oliver’s orgasm. He scooped up some of the cum that puddled over his stomach. After examining it on his fingers, he pushed the cum covered fingers into Oliver’s mouth. This was new but the way they both reacted, it wouldn’t be the last. Cooper almost came at the sight alone: Oliver laying on his back, looking up while sucking on his fingers like it was the best thing ever created.
Cooper went to pull out but was stopped by gentle hands pulling his body back in. He gave a few light thrusts in case Oliver changed his mind but once it was clear, we aren’t done until you are, Cooper picked up the pace. It wasn’t long before his hips stuttered and he let out a quiet, deep “fuck”. He pulled out slowly as if Oliver was made of glass.
With Oliver out, Cooper opened the drawer again pulling out some wipes and wiped them both down. He helped Oliver pull his pants slightly proud of himself when Oliver winced. Once they were both dressed, they stood together in front of the couch. Oliver was the one to initiate the hug, it was rare when Oliver began the affection but those were Coopers favorite moments.
After a few moments of them just collecting their breath and thoughts, Cooper asked, “was I…okay?” It was obvious he was scared of the answer.
Oliver pulled back slightly to look Cooper in his eyes, “More than okay, baby boy. Was I..” the question hanged in the air.
“Of course, you looked so great too. Oh, I love seeing you all-“
Laughter broke Coopers sentence off and he received a light kiss. Suddenly the screen of TV showed the ending credits of the movie. “Well, I guess we missed the movie.” Cooper joked, he held Oliver close to him as if he was about to float away any moment.
“The killer ends up being the husband.” Oliver smirked.
“You planned this out didn’t you!?” Cooper couldn’t help but laugh.
“Maybbeee,” they moved to the couch again, Cooper laying down with a tired Oliver laying on top. He rubbed soothing circles on Oliver’s back until they both fell asleep.
——— Next morning
Katie and Greg stood in the middle of the stairs. The condom wrapper staring right at them.
“Should we say anything?” Greg asked but he seriously wished the answer was no.
“Nope. Leave them, let them think they are still being sneaky.”
Wish granted.

Any Cooliver headcannons to spare?
I thought I’ve answered this before lol 😂
Cooliver Headcanons:
- Coop fell first, Oliver fell harder
- Coop came out (officially) to Taylor first
- Oliver came out later than Coop but told Katie first
- Coop and Oli did end up going to different schools (Oli for Business and Coop for Culinary)
- Oliver said I love you first but by accident one night when he was sleep-talking
- Coop said I love you right after that as he aggressively woke Oliver up in excitement when he heard him
- After they both finished school, Oliver’s opened a small tech business in Westport, and quickly become the #1 tech company in Connecticut.
- Cooper bought the restaurant where Katie and her friends always had their second breakfast. Calling it “Coop’s Kitchen” which is coincidentally only a 5 min drive from Oli’s tech company “OliTech” and has been taking the food industry by storm, even being featured on Food Network.
- Taylor comes every other weekend to perform a song at “Coop’s Kitchen” fulfilling her dreams of being a performer while also making room for her other aspirations.
- Anna-Kat works as a Waitress at “Coop’s Kitchen” and is the only person who can make the dining room spotless by the end of the night
Thanks for the ask as always! 🫶🏾

Something else I love about Moomins...
When I was a kid, like nine or ten years old, I had a book called What Kay Did. In the book, Katy is a selfish and mean young girl, who falls off a swing and I think breaks her back or something. As a result, she can't walk, and is cooped up inside and miserable. Little by little, she learns how her nasty behavior made her siblings afraid of her and not want to be with her, and now that she can't go out and amuse herself, she's really dependent on them for fun. So she learns to be nice. She becomes almost saintly, really.
Then, near the end of the book, the family finds out that there's a possibility that Katy will be able to walk again. And instead of being happy for her, the siblings say, "But she's become so nice since she got hurt. If she heals, will she be mean again?" Fortunately, Katy both relearns how to walk, and stays nice, so everyone's happy.
I hated this book. And it's not like, as a kid, I wasn't familiar with moralizing children's books where the main character learned a lesson and grew into a better person. I knew exactly what the book was doing. I just hated it. And I also knew that the siblings weren't meant to be interpreted as cold and indifferent for their lack of enthusiasm on hearing Katy might walk again. It's probably realistic even, if you've been bullied by someone before, to worry that a return to the circumstances where they bullied you would trigger it again. Still I hated them. I hated the book for telling me Katy had to behave a certain way for her to deserve to walk. Even though the way she used to be was truly awful. And I hated the book for requiring me to sympathize with the siblings, who had been treated badly by Katy, when what I really thought was that their resistance her recovery, however brief, was worse than anything she'd done to them in the past.
I hated being told what to think. I hated being preached at about right and wrong. And more than anything, I hated that Katy went through a character arc so dramatic that, in the end, she was completely unrecognizable as the girl in chapter one. That was meant to be good thing, because chapter one Katy was an asshole. But even as a kid, I didn't believe people change that much. Katy ended up more or less a saint. Always kind, always giving, always patient. Because of that, her relearning to walk came across like a reward for being a good person.
I haven't picked up this book again since I was a kid. So I may be forgetting important points. It's always possible I'd feel differently as an adult. That's my disclaimer, but i don't really think so. Because it's not like this kind of book was unusual. Another one comes to mind, the title of which I've forgotten, which was about a plate. In the world of plates, if you let just anyone eat off you, you wound up a dirty paper plate no one wanted. But if you waited and remained pure and clean, one day the King himself would change you into a beautiful porcelain plate and you'd be part of his household. It was a metaphor for Christianity and for virginity. It was more preachy BS.
Part of the reason I hated it was because I really took it to heart. I felt that I was horrible like Katy, and that unless I could achieve her saintliness, I would be always coming up short. Every time I committed a sin, even just in my head, I felt like I was back at square one. And I was doomed to fail, because of course it's impossible to be as good as Katy. We can change some. We can strive for self-improvement. But we'll be fighting our demons forever. (And in the book's defense, I believe I remember a scene where Katy admits she still struggles with her temperament later on, but she does her best not to let it affect her siblings.) With the plates, same thing: you can't live a totally pure and clean life. No one can. In Christianity, that's supposed to be a prerequisite for being human: we are all sinners, all of us. The goal is to try your best to live a righteous life and to be humble. But there's so much judgment and so many attacks on people who falter, and so much smug superiority among those who are convinced they are living righteously.
The Moomins books say something completely different. They were about self-acceptance. "All nice things are good for you," Moominmamma says. That would never fly in my Christian children's literature. And it's not like the Moomin book were anti-religious. (on a tangent: I wondered if what Moomintroll left under the fir tree, the thing that he didn't even tell Snufkin about, was meant to be him giving his soul to God on Christmas. It's impossible for me to tell whether I read that story right or if my deeply religious upbringing is screwing with me again.)
The Moomins don't say it's fine to be a bully or it's fine to do things that hurt you or others. But they don't go around breaking your back for being a bully or rejecting you eternally for not doing what you're told. Things happen in Moomins - characters make choices in step with their nature, and although they rub each other the wrong way sometimes, it always turns out that there was this or that reasoning and no one's really right or wrong. They're all just people. Moomins doesn't expect you to ever try to be perfect. And hiding your demons doesn't protect your family from them, rather it creates more distance between you and makes it harder to support each other and feel supported.
Characters in Moomins aren't so dynamic. But they also aren't completely stagnant. No character would undergoes the vast change that Katy did, or the complete transformation of the porcelain plate. Instead, characters are confronted with themselves again and again. And, again and again, they learn to accept themselves warts and all. A hemulen is a hemulen, a fillyonk is a fillyjonk and it's no use for them to try to be anything else, because that's what they are. Sometimes they're fed up with it and yearn to be anyone else. It's only natural, because no one is perfect, so we can always find bits of ourselves to hate. But inevitably they'll miss themselves. It's when characters listen to voices that tell them they're not enough, whether those voices are internal or external, that they become nasty and mean and mistreat each other.
There are no real bad guys in Moomins. We can only wonder what would happen if someone really mean were ever introduced. But the stories aren't missing such a character - they especially aren't missing the chance to chastise their young readers for their imperfections and urge them to be righteous because otherwise, hell awaits. I much prefer the take that everyone has their own personality and temperament and history, which informs their actions, and that most of the difficulties people have with each other come from not respecting that. You can't have a community by forcing everyone to be the same. A community is different people making the same choice to support each other's differences.
Actually, there is one bad guy in Moomins. It's the aunt in "The Invisible Child." Notably, she doesn't feature in the story. The story is about helping Ninny. About Ninny learning that she is important. That she doesn't deserve to be mistreated and degraded, her every misstep nitpicked. That her wants, her needs, her voice matters. Her cruel aunt doesn't matter at all. So she's not part of the story.
And, when Ninny rediscovers who she is, she's praised in this way: "She's even worse than Little My." I wonder how different Katy's story would have been, if she had Little My to knock some sense into her, without also sapping her of her individuality. I bet that plate never would have become porcelain either, but would have enjoyed life in the Moominhouse cupboard just as much.
