Oh!! Um 😅!!

If I had to choose, I think the character that defines my first fandom era (the Undertale era) would have to be Core!Frisk. I know I did a lot of stuff with Sans and UTAU Sans but something ab them really clicked with me 😊.

I'm not really in any fandoms other than the jellyfish fandom at the moment, but if I had to choose a favourite character it'd have to be Katsuo Hiue (yea, the guy I made lol).

If they had to fight, Core Frisk would definitely win off the bat. It's rather difficult to beat an omnipotent and generally impervious being with good knife skills, after all.

Also, there is a list of dangerous stuff Core Frisk is able to do. Er. I love Katsuo but respectfully he does not stand a Chance.

I think that's kinda boring, though, so instead here's a doodle of them bonding together instead:

Katsuo doesn't really have anywhere else to go, so he just stays in the Omega timeline.

Drawing Core Frisk really reminded me of my past hyperfixation with Combo Club (@askcomboclub), so I decided to doodle him interacting with Serif haha (I feel like he'd get along with Serif the most out of all the members)

With all the talk about #AIart I'm making a commitment for all my work to be AI-Free. If my art or writing is bad, its 100% my work because its made by a human and I am flawed. That means no generated art or text will be used in my books. not even using #ChatGPT for research.

I'm making this commitment because I want to be a model of authenticity and to remind people the true value of human work and the joys and pains of artistic expression.

I'm opposed to generative AI for many reasons. 1. its trained on other's work and that's theft. 2. it takes an enormous amount of physical resources (energy and water, for example) to generate and I don't want to waste it 3. being an artist is a valuable skill that real people spend years cultivating and I do not want to see that diminished.

So, I implore you to join me in my commitment to make my story AI-Free. Make a stand and say no to generative "art" and make your own works and make them bad! bad is beautiful!

Spaceverse Drakul and Apex Prime sketch dump!

All older sketches here that predate the RP, some by a lot, some by a little. Most of these characters have only been referenced or haven't even appeared yet so far, but I have ideas for many of them for possible stories moving forward. Many of these will likely need a new portrait to fit their Spaceverse versions better someday.

In order, we have: Shakti (reimagined from an Amber Court vampire to instead the Prime Chieftain of Apex Prime and a lioness shifter), younger Landulf, Hettienne, current Landulf, Grenier, Gerard, his sister Rosamund, Carlos, Eligio, Kyung, Mariya, Ulrika, Aldric, Adasi, Kwabena, Tsubame, Elizabeth, some sketches of Yuuki including one where she's a bit older, Adasi, Gerard, Darius (who I'll admit is pretty much Klavier Gavin from Ace Attorney's design but as a British-inspired vampire x3), Jae, Milly (who may not appear here but I do like her design, maybe she can be adapted), Marco, Bonnie, some sketches of my snake-shifter Katsuo, Chiyo, Seo Yun, and another sketch of Kyung.

Credit to Cookie who I used to write a lot of these characters with and who helped brainstorm a lot of ideas for my vampires. These characters belong to me.

2024 Year roundup! (Part 3)

熱狂短編マンガ傑作集‘83 (Nekkyou Tanpen Manga Kessakushuu '83), curated anthology supervised by Haruyuki Nakano

I always feel I've read a disporportinate amount of shoujo manga or female manga artists these past 5 years but also have the suspicion that if I actually ran the numbers its either perfectly balanced or in fact more men than women (not factoring the manga artists who have not gone public about their gender). Regardless I certainly know more about shoujo manga history than shounen manga history so in an effort to course correct or at least branch out I found the curated anthology Nekkyou Tanpen Manga Kessakushuu '83 which as the title suggests focused on the year 1983, which the obi around the book claims to mark the end of the one-shot manga heyday. Despite being edited by Shougakukan it features works from Sunday, Jump, Magazine, and Champion all in the same 750 page collection. While the major names I am already familiar with take up a significant chunk I was happy to get introduced to some names that were completely new to me or see a new side to ones I did know. Few misses if any and I loved the extra content giving the background for each work, and some fun facts about what culture looked like in 1983.

Also on the speaking of seeing a new side to someone. I just have so much newfound respect for Riyoko Ikeda's craft and what her goals as a newbie manga artist were after reading the 2-volume compilation of literally all her one-shots. The young Ikeda was so politically principled and the later career Ikeda is a master of drama and the technical level of the art is unreal. When the profits from your immortal blockbuster success goes into paying the most skilled assistants around truly.
