Hello from Neptune, and greetings to fellow sapphic writers on Tumblr ♡

I hope I find and follow a whole lot of you guys who love writing wlw stories, whether they're romance, adventure, horror, or whatever genre. I want to be part of a space where sapphic/lesbian characters are written about, talked about, and created so that more of our people have more of themselves to relate to in this big wide world!

First Ones stories - like, would it be interesting to have a saga about the first ones? It would cover what they were like before hordak, the war they had, the exploration of etheria and eternia.

You could have Mara's story, and maybe a story about the people who gave up Adora and what happened to them after. How they eventually fell or fled in the war.

Similarly, a sort of early princess war story. A kind of prequel-fic about the era where Hordak took over Scorpia's kingdom, about Glimmers dad as a soldier and a king, about the early emergence of the Horde and the terror of an invasive alien techno-dystopia.

Alt-tone retelling. Exploring the series through a lens of more 'adult' fantasy - political intrigue between princesses, injuries and death from the battles, scars of war. Princessdom culture and territory clashes, the brutal lives of Horde soldiers, the nature of magic and such. It could be cool to see Adora use a sword like an actual sword, ya know? Or for Bows bow to... bow. Would Glimmers magic be more offensive or would her supportive role be emphasized?

AU where Hordak 'won' and it's more of a cyberpunk story where he's taken over Etheria but can't open the portal. Adora is like a Horde general and Katra is the rebel in disgrace. Maybe some long lost descendant of Glimmer and Bows try to retake the moon crystal and find the Sword of Protection.

Silly AU just for fun where it's a Gun of Protection. Nothing else changes, it's just She-Ra has a big fuck-off gun now. Instead of shape-shifting later on it gets different under barrel attachments.

More Space or Etheria adventures cause they were kinda cool! Maybe some Mara stories about Etheria monsters and the first Greyskull team. Maybe stories about the rest of the universe trying to fight off the Horde, or a sequel-fic about Adora and the gang going around saving the universe.

Something about those really cool badass wasteland gangs. Damn, they were awesome.

A series of Seahawks adventures and all the ships/relationships he's set fire to.

Weird Crossovers like Sailor Moon and the SpoP gang teaming up against some evil crystal goddess. Or Ben 10 where Ben ends up on Etheria as part of the plumbers and gets a whole new set of aliens about it. Gwen is there and does magic.

I’m just imagining the au where Katra’s lived in Iceland since she was a toddler and therefore is fluent in Icelandic and Adora/Eldþóra is an American who did one of those ancestry things and found out she’s mostly Icelandic in origin and is REALLY excited about it

They meet at the pool closest to Adora’s guesthouse when she’s visiting Reykjavík (Sundhöllin, just because that’s the one I went to twice lol) and she makes the mistake of assuming Katra’s also an American tourist and pisses her off because Katra lives here and has since she was three, takk fyrir

I watched nimona and loved the found family and trans allegory. I'm here for it. But one thing i cannot stand is when shows put gay characters in overtly bad relationships. Shera did that with Katra literally torturing Adora only for it all to be forgiven because they are gay and so did Nimona, Bal deserved support from someone who knew him his whole life not the weak shit we got from Ambrosius and I am tired of that just being the ideal. Why do we ship them just because they are gay and in love, why is loving someone enough to excuse all the pain you cause? Why is this all that gay characters get? Why can't we get soft stories about our partners being on our side regardless or us choosing to leave them when they do these things and finding love elsewhere, without forgiveness just for the sake of "oh they love me"?

I want our gay stories to be more and I wish more people saw where I'm coming from. I get the idea of someone seeing your worst and accepting that but that shouldn't be the standard when your worst hurt them.

Eh, I don't see a problem with this post, sure I don't like Catradora and I don't think people should ship it when it's ILLEGAL and romanticizes abuse in a kid's show, but eh, at least they aren't victim blaming Adora like most C//a posts.

i mean maybe i misunderstand you. but my impression was that are you are saying gnc or ssa men receive "significant" adoration and personal benefits. yes you agree homophobia exists, but you are posing both as "significant" part of their life. but bi women only have the negative side and not the "significant" positive side.

if thats not what you meant, i dont know what you mean by significant number of ppl or that they are "adored" on some significant social level.

if that is what you mea then yeah i just think you are way overstating. i think in most cases we all just have negative side.

yes! and sorry but what i am saying, is that i think you are unintentionally doing this exact thing here if you really think a "significant" life experience for bi men is experiencing "significant adoration" and that we should talk about their experience like its something pleasant like that.

i think its like saying bc marcelline or adora/katra or vi/cait are all very popular it means bi women and lesbians experience adoration. i think we both agree it doesn't mean that at all. most ppl still treat us as uncomfortable and gross. i think in practice its a lot the same for ssa men too. in fact i think a lot of the ppl that seem to have this "adoration" turn disgusted and hostile when they realize it means yes these men actually love other men in real and not for-the-bit ways and even have wow anal sex with them and not just sit around being cute coquettes. i have seen this reaction from supposedly gay-loving girlies many many times irl around my gay/bi male friends lol.

maybe more productive conversation is to talk directly where bi women and lesbian are failed instead of comparing to ssa men.

for me one big thing is even when i see bi women being supposedly "celebrated", either the source or the reaction or both focuses too much on it being ok with men. almost like its checking in on them like "hey this is hot so we can have this right?". so i cant enjoy myself at all, it feels gross. i dont feel like it feels a celebration of me and my gf by extension, more like now it gives the expectation of male creeps that we're something for them to gawk at.

You know how sometimes people act like homophobia toward women barely exists? I feel like that definitely plays into the way people act toward bisexual women vs men. Like men are oh so brave for coming out as bisexual and braving homophobia to be true to themselves and why would they lie about it when he could have saved face and stay closeted until he dated a man, how brave. vs with women it's like why would she even come out if she's not dating a woman, she's probably faking it for the clout (no mention of bravery for risking homophobia)

Season one

It's only when watching this show again that you really start to think about the emotions and inner turmoil of the character

For example, at this point, it's hard to imagine that a person you've known for so many years, befriended so closely and have feelings for, could push away so much. The cutting pain of the picture in front of my eyes: Adora fighting against those she's drkdil with and against Katra

It's really complicated. Though we remember that Katra was given a choice. But who in their teens, when feelings take over, would think rationally?

I'm sure this has been said before but I have to say that queer romance media is better than straight romance media due to the fact that queer romance must be more nuanced to be palatable to the majority.

In other words! People are more careful with how they write or show queer romance, meaning they will put more thought into what is said or done or shown. In comparison, straight romance in fiction just has to have a guy and girl look at each other before it is implied that there is a mutual interest.
